I RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW CHRYSLER 300M (LIMITED EDITION) 2006. WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING, THE ENGINE STALLS AND THEN RESUMES WHILE DRIVING; THE ENGINE SHUTS COMPLETELY OFF WHILE STOPPED; AND, THE ENGINE, AFTER STARTING IT ONCE IT HAS SHUT-OFF, WOULD NOT GO IN THE APPROPRIATE GEAR SHIFT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 6 TIMES AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT MY VEHICLE CLOSE TO 2-MONTHS. EVERY TIME THEY HAVE RETURNED MY VEHICLE, IT HAS TO BE RETURNED FOR THE SAME CAUSE. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 10-15 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE APPROXIMATELY ONE MINUTE LATER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MISFIRED ON TWO OCCASIONS. ON TWO OTHER OCCASIONS, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE DEALER INSTALLED A POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. AS OF AUGUST 16, 2007, THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 26,000. THE DEALER STATED THE REAR BRAKE TUBE MUST BE INSPECTED FOR DAMAGE, IF BRAKE TUBE IS DAMAGED MUST BE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER PROVIDED MULTIPLE REPAIR INVOICES PERTAINING TO THE DEFECT. UPDATED 08/31/07 *TR
WE PURCHASED A CHRYSLER 300C ON 9/05/2006. ON 9/6/06 I ACCIDENTALLY TOUCHED THE PARKING BRAKE & THE LIGHT CAME ON. I CHECKED MY MANUAL & ATTEMPTED TO RELEASE THE BRAKE BY PRESSING DOWN AS HARD AS I COULD,THEN PULLING THE BRAKE RELEASE. THE LIGHT REMAINED ON. ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL, THIS INDICATED A BRAKE PROBLEM SO I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP. ON 9/8/06 I TOOK IT IN TO THE SERVICE DEPT.WHO SAID TO PRESS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, RELEASE THE BRAKE & LIGHTLY LIFT UP ON THE FOOT BRAKE. ON 9/10/06 I AGAIN TOUCHED THE BRAKE CAUSING THE LIGHT TO COME ON.ON 9/11/06 I TOOK IT IN TO THE SERVICE DEPT. & SPOKE TO THEM & THE GENERAL MANAGER. BOTH GENTLEMEN AGREED IT SHOULD BE CORRECTED, BUT THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. SO I CALLED THE CHRYSLER CORP. CUSTOMER CENTER. THE MAN TOLD ME IT IS NOT A DEFECT JUST BECAUSE I AM NOT ABLE TO PRESS THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR ANY MORE THAN IT IS A DEFECT IF I AM UNABLE TO OPEN A DOOR! I AM NOT A 100 POUND WOMAN ! I TRIED WITH BOTH FEET, GOT OUT & TRIED WITH MY HAND. HE TOLD ME IF THE LIGHT REMAINS ON & SOMETHING HAPPENS TO THE BRAKES THAT I AM UNAWARE OF AND CAUSES AN ACCIDENT, THAT I WILL BE RESPONSIBLE. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS A STRANGE SMELL IN THE VEHICLE WHICH CAME THROUGH THE AIR CONDITIONING VENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SERVICE DEALER, WHERE A BACTERIAL GROWTH WAS FOUND ON THE EVAPORATOR COIL. THE DEALER TREATED THE GROWTH, BUT THE STRANGE SMELL AND VAPOR FROM THE AIR CONDITIONING VENT WAS STILL PRESENT WHICH CAUSED RUNNY NOSES, COUGHING AND SORE THROATS. THE SERVICE DEALER NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE VEHICLE HAS GOODYEAR INTEGRITY TIRES, SIZE 175/70R13. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ORIGINAL TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. HE NOTICED LUMPS AND BUBBLES ON ALL FOUR TIRES, SOME OF WHICH WERE ON THE TREAD OF THE TIRES. HE COMPLAINED TO THE TIRE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT ALL OF THE TIRES WERE THE SAME. THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE THE TIRES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A NEUTRAL DEALER AND THEY ASKED HIM WHAT TYPE OF VEHICLE THE TIRES WERE MOUNTED ON, AND INFORMED HIM THAT THE TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE. HE HAD TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DEFECTIVE TIRES AND NEW TIRES IN ORDER TO GET ALL NEW TIRES. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 400.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE PLACING THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE, THE REAR BACK UP ALARM WAS INAUDIBLE TO THE DRIVER. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THE REAR BACK UP ALARM WAS DESIGNED TO SOUND AT LOW VOLUMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. 08/29/06 UPDATED. *TT
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN DEPRESSING THE PEDAL. THERE WAS NO WARNING PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHERE A VALVE ON THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED BUT THE PROBLEM RECURRED. THE VEHICLE IS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300.*AK UPDATED 8/21/2006 - *NM
STARED IDLING ROUGH AND AT LOWER RPMS. DEALER SAID ON TWO OCCASIONS IT WAS THE FUEL TYPE I WAS USING. WAS NEVER INFORMED OF THIS EITHER DURING THE SALE OR IN WRITING (I.E. VEHICLE MANUALS). THE THIRD TRIP TO THE DEALER I WAS INFORMED THEY NEEDED TO DISASSEMBLE TO TOP HALF OF THE ENGINE AND REBUILD IT. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED AFTER SHIFTING THE TRANSMISSION FROM PARK TO REVERSE, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS RELEASED AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AGAIN, BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND. THE VEHICLE STOPPED AFTER HITTING A DITCH. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED THE DEALERSHIP, THE COMPUTER STORED NO CODES AND THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. UPDATED 8/1/2006 - THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE STARTED ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS A WEEK AFTER IT WAS PURCHASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR REPAIRS. THE RADIO WENT OUT THEN CAME BACK ON. THE ALL THE PANEL LIGHT WENT OUT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE CLUSTER. THE ESP BAS LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH. THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW AUTO UP FUNCTION FAILED. THE DEALER CALIBRATED THE AUTO UP FUNCTION. WHEN TURNING THE KEY TO START THE VEHICLE IT DOESN'T START. SOMETIMES IT TAKES 3 OR 4 TRIES BEFORE THE VEHICLE WILL START. THE DEALER REPLACED THE WIRELESS CONTROL MODULE. IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T START. *NM
MY NEW 2006 CHRYSLER 300 C WITH ALL WHEEL DRIVE HAS A SHAKE IN THE STEERING WHEEL AT APPROX. 50 MPH AND THE WHOLE CAR DEVELOPS A COMPLETE BODY SHAKE AT HIGHER SPEEDS THATS FEELS LIKE THE WHEELS ARE GONNA LEAVE THE CAR. THE DEALER ROAD FORCE BALANCED THE EXISTING TIRES AND COULD NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THEN THEY CHANGED THE TIRES AND IT STILL DID IT . THEY THEN SENT THE CAR OUT FOR MORE ROADFORCE BALANCING. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPS AND ENOUGH WHEEL WEIGHTS TO BALANCE THE WHEELS OF 2 CARS, THE PROBLEM WAS MINIMIZED BUT STILL NOT CORRECTED. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE CAR STILL FEELS UNSAFE,AND IT STILL SHAKES AT LOW SPEED SOMETIMES. I WAS TOLD THAT THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE MODELS HAVE AN UNKNOWN PROBLEM AND I COULD CONSIDER A NEW CAR REPLACEMENT, BUT SHOULDNT BUY ANOTHER ALL WHEEL DRIVE BECAUSE THEY ALL HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND THAT I WAS WELCOME TO TEST DRIVE ANOTHER CAR EXACTLY LIKE MINE AND I WOULD SEE THAT IT TO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM . THEY HAVE OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FREE OF CHARGE BUT THEY CANT DO ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT THE CARS PROBLEM UNTIL PERHAPS ENOUGH COMPLAINTS WERE FILED TO FORCE CHRYSLER TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.I DONT KNOW IF ITS A WHEEL PROBLEM OR DRIVETRAIN OR OTHER BUT I FEAR WHATEVER THIS PROBLEM IS IT MAY EVENTUALLY ENDANGER MY LIFE AS WELL AS OTHERS.
ACQUIRED 2006 300C - 2/1/2006 - W/CONTINENTAL TIRES. NOTICED CUPPING ON LEFT FRONT TIRE AT 3,00 MILES. DEALER CHECKED ALIGNMENT, SUSPENSION, ETC. AND SAID: "EVERYTHING IS WITHIN SPECS" AND ROTATED TIRES. SERVICE ADVISOR STATED TIRES SHOULD BE ROTATED EVERY 3,000 MILES (?????). FOLLOW-UP CALL W/SERVICE MANAGER - STATED THAT THE CONTINENTAL TIRES ARE "VERY SOFT" AND WEAR PREMATURELY. ASKED ABOUT THE "CRADLE MOD" - AND HE STATED THAT THE "CRADLE MOD" AND REVISED ALIGNMENT SPECS WOULD HAVE BEEN APPLIED TO THIS VEHICLE, SINCE IT IS A 2006. LEFT FRONT TIRE IS NOW CUPPING AGAIN AT 6,000 MILES. WHY ARE THESE TIRES PERFORMING SO BADLY WHEN GOODYEAR TIRES (ALSO SHIPPED ON THIS VEHICLE) ARE PERFORMING OK? WHY WOULD CHRYSLER CONTINUE TO SHIP THESE VEHICLES W/THE CONTINENTAL TIRES? *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED, EACH TIME THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WAS PLACED INTO REVERSE OR DRIVE, THERE WAS A LOUD BANGING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO SLUGGISH DURING ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALERSHIP, WHO WAS UNSURE OF HOW TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER DIRECTED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA, SO THERE WOULD BE A RECORD.
BOUGHT CHRYSLER 300 SRT8 LATE AUGUST 2005. COMPLAINED ABOUT BRAKE SQUEAL AND DUST/EXCESSIVE BRAKE DUST. TOOK CAR IN FOR WARRANTY SERVICE WITH 17,000 MILES. ONLY TO BE ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED, BUT IF CAR NOT BROUGHT IN BEFORE 12,000 MILES/12 MONTHS THE REPAIR WILL BE APPROX. $865 FOR BRAKE PADS AND RESURFACING ROTORS. I AM UNABLE TO FIND TECH BULLETIN REFERRED TO. *NM
CAR BECAME UNPREDICTABLE TOUCH THE ACCELERATOR IT WOULD LUNGE WHEN IN GEAR, IDLE WAS ERRATIC WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. SO IT HAS BEEN SITTING UNTIL MY APPOINTMENT DATE THAT IS 7-6-06. I WENT OUT TO SEE IF I COULD DRIVE IT. SO WITH TWO MALFUNCTION INDICATORS IT WILL BE TOWED TO DEALER. *JB
I RENTED A CHRYSLER 300 AND DISCOVERED WHAT I FEEL ARE TWO POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARDS. 1.) THE CRUISE CONTROL IS MOUNTED JUST ABOVE THE TURN SIGNAL. WHEN EXITING THE HIGHWAY, I STARTED TO SIGNAL A RIGHT TURN AND REALIZED THAT THE LEVER FELT TOO SMALL. LUCKILY I MOVED MY HAND TO THE SIGNAL INDICATOR. IF I HAD LIFTED THE CRUISE CONTROL LEVER, THE CAR WOULD HAVE TRIED TO RESUME THE SPEED I HAD BEEN USING ON THE HIGHWAY (65 MPH). 2.) THE TOP OF THE STEERING WHEEL COVERS THE SPEEDOMETER. DRIVERS NEED TO DUCK DOWN TO LOOK THROUGH THE SPOKES TO SEE THEIR SPEED. THE WHEEL IS ADJUSTABLE, I HAD IT AT THE BOTTOM. I AM SIX FEET TALL. *NM
2006 CHRYSLER 300 EXHIBITED TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. *KB *NM
AT ANY GIVEN SPEED THERE IS A "LOSS OF COMMUNICATION" AS IT IS DESCRIBED BY THE MANCARI'S OF OAK LAWN DEALERSHIP, WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, AS WELL AS HAVE IT SERVICED, BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION AND THE COMPUTER. THIS IS APPARENTLY A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF THIS VEHICLE. AS YOU CAN SEE ON THE WEBSITE BELOW. I HAVE HAD THE TRANS SHIFTER REPLACED, AS WELL AS HAD THE CAR "RE-FLASHED" SEVERAL TIMES TO NO AVAIL, AND WITH NO APPARENT SOLUTION IN SITE. MANY ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE AT REACHING CHRSLYER - THE MANUFACTURER AS SUGGESTED, BUT THEY SEEM TO HAVE NO INTEREST IN DEALING WITH CUSTOMERS BEYOND THE SALE OF THE VEHICLE.I WONDER HOW MANY FATALITIES WILL HAVE TO ENSUE BEFORE THEY DO ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT I AM SURE ARE KNOWN ISSUES BY NOW, CONCERNING THEIR VEHICLES. THE FIRST TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THE SOFTWARE NEEDED UPDATED. THE SECOND TIME THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED. THE THIRD TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING AND VEERED TO THE LEFT WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THE REAR PASSENGER LOWER CONTROL ARM FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN OFF THE ROAD AND UPON RESTARTING THE DASH LIGHTS ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR WAS REPLACED. A MONTH LATER THE PROBLEM RECURRED. AGAIN, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR WAS REPLACED. UPDATED 6/16/2006 - *NM
SERIOUS BRAKES AND ROTOR FAILURE. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CLUTCH WAS DEPRESSED AND ALL THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKED OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED A TRANSMISSION SEAL. ALSO, THE POWER STEERING FLUID WAS LEAKING AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS ORDERED A NEW RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN A NOISE UNDER THE DASH, BUT THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE A PROBLEM.
I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR SUDDENLY STALLING AFTER I FILL IT UP WITH GAS SINCE I BOUGHT IT. IN 2006 CHRYSLER THOUGHT IT WAS THE COMPUTER AND REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY. THAT DID NOT WORK. I RETURNED IT MANY TIMES. THE ONLY REMEDY WAS TO NEVER FILL UP THE GAS TANK COMPLETELY. I RECENTLY NOTICED THE NHTSA ANNOUNCED THE 19 GALLON GAS TANK FOR THE 2006 CHRYSLER 300 WOULD NOW HAVE A LIFE TIME WARRANTY. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID MY VIN # WAS NOT INCLUDED. SINCE MY CAR IS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 WITH A 19 GALLON GAS TANK AND I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR 8 YEARS I AM SURPRISED MY CAR WOULD BE ONE OF THOSE NOT COVERED. I WOULD APPRECIATE SOMEONE LOOKING INTO THIS FOR ME. *TR
FRONT END ACCIDENT AT SPEED IN EXCESS OF 20 MPH WITH SIDE OF ANOTHER CAR THAT CAME THROUGH A STOP SIGN CAUSING SIGNIFICANT FRONT END DAMAGE TO MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND I HIT MY HEAD ON WINDSHIELD OR STEERING WHEEL. CAR IS AT AUTOBODY SHOP NOW. *JB
BRAKE PADS SCORING ROTORS PADS REPLACED NOTHING DONE ABOUT THE GROOVED ROTORS. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE HORN IS DIFFICULT TO PRESS. THE VEHICLE WAS SEEN BY A DEALER. THE DEALER COULD NOT PERFORM ANY REPAIRS AND DETERMINED THIS WAS A DESIGN ISSUE. THE DEALER SUGGESTED THE CONTACT SHOULD FIND A MORE SENSITIVE AREA OF THE HORN TO PRESS. UPDATED 03/28/06. *JB
ON FEB. 27,2008 I HAD TO HAVE BOTH TIE ROD ENDS REPLACED ON MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300. DURING MY AUTO SHOP'S SEARCH FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS WE DISCOVERED THAT THE DODGE DEALER IN WORCESTER MA. HAD 174 TIE ROD ENDS ON BACKORDER. THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT IF THERE IS NO RECALL MAYBE THERE SHOULD BE. *TR
THIS NEW CAR WAS PURCHASED BY ME IN 01/06 AND THE PROBLEM BECAME APPARENT WITHIN THE FIRST 30 DAYS. DEALER TOLD ME THAT NOTHING CAN BE DONE UNLESS A TROUBLE LIGHT CAME ON. V6 ENGINE. AT IDLE THE ENGINE MISSES AND THE CARE LOSES CONTINUOUSLY WHILE AT IDLE. *NM
ON 1/25/06 I LOST ALL ACCELERATION ON MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C 4DR. SEDAN. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING, PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR REVVED THE ENGINE BUT THEIR WAS ABSOLUTELY NO ACCELERATION. LUCKILY THERE WAS A SHOULDER, I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE AND WAS ABLE TO COAST OVER BEFORE BEING STRUCK BY THE TRUCK BEHIND ME. THE VEHICLE WAS "REPAIRED" BY THE DEALER (MCDONOUGH CHRYSLER IN EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) AND RETURNED TO ME ON 2/10/06. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY WIFE WHILE DRIVING SOUTH ON US ROUTE #1. THIS TIME THERE WAS NO SHOULDER AND THE TRACTOR TRAILER BEHIND HER ONLY AVOIDED HITTING HER BY SWERVING TO THE LEFT AND GOING AROUND HER. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED THE TOW TRUCK OPERATOR MADE A COMMENT THAT HE TOWS "ABOUT 20 OF THESE CARS A WEEK." THIS MAY BE AN EXAGGERATION BUT IT WOULD SEEM TO INDICATE A SERIOUS PROBLEM. *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT SWERVED TO AVOIDING CRASHING INTO A DEER AND THEN LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WENT INTO A DITCH AND FLIPPED OVER THREE TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A WRECKING LOT AND RULED DESTROYED. THE POLICE SAID THEY FEEL THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 69,400.

MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300 WITH 6800 MILES ON IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE FOR THE A/C AND HAS NOT YET BEEN FIXED. AFTER TRAVELING FOR A DISTANCE, A/C STOPS BLOWING COLD AIR. THE FIRST TIME IT WENT TO THE SHOP, THEY DID NOT DETECT ANYTHING AND TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN WHEN IT IS ACCRUING. THE SECOND TIME IT STOPPED, I DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALER WITH IT NOT WORKING AND THEY STILL TOLD ME IT IS NOT GIVING ANY CODE TO TELL THEM WHAT IS WRONG SO THEY CANT FIX ANYTHING. THEY AGREED WITH ME THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG, BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE IT. SO I HAVE A NEW CAR WITH AN A/C THAT JUST STOPS WHEN IT WANTS, AND I AM JUST SUPPOSED TO DEAL WITH IT AS THEY WILL SAY. *NM

WITHIN THE FIRST 300 MILES THE INSIDE OF ALL FOUR BRAKE ROTORS STARTED TO SHOW PREMATURE SCORING AND GROOVES ALSO A GRINDING NOISE AND BRAKE PEDAL PULSING WOULD OCCUR WHEN THE BRAKES WOULD BE APPLIED. IT HAS GOTTEN A LOT WORSE AND THERE IS LESS THEN 3,000 MILES ON THE CAR. IN SPITE OF A CHRYSLER SERVICE BULLETIN #05-006-06 TITLED "FRONT AND/OR REAR BRAKE ROTORS GROOVED/SCORED" CHRYSLER MOTORS SERVICE WOULD NOT DO ANY THING EXCEPT TURN MY ROTORS ON A LATHE AT A COST TO ME OF $200.00 DOLLARS. I WAS INFORMED BY CHRYSLER MOTORS SERVICE THAT MY PROBLEM WOULD RE-OCCUR IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH ALL CHRYSLER 300C SRT-8, DODGE CHARGER SRT-8 AND DODGE MAGNUM SRT-8 AND JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SRT-8. ALL OF THESE VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH "BREMBO" BRAKES. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOME SORT OF A DEFECT WITH THIS BRAKE SYSTEM. I PURCHASE A 300 TOURING ON NOV 5 2006. THIS WAS A BRAND NEW CAR WITH ONLY 4 MILE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THE FIRST TIME ON NOV 17. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOOK THE CAR IN. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND DIDN'T SEE ANY CODE INDICATING THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG. THE LIGHT WAS RESET AND THE CAR WAS RETURN TO ME. I DROVE IT AGAIN FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN FOR THE SECOND TIME NOV 23 2006. I CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND TOOK THE CAR IN. I WAS TOLD THAT WHEN THE TECH STARTED THE CAR HE DIDN'T SEE THE LIGHT ON. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE THE CAR HOME. WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED THE CAR HAD LESS THAN 1500 MILES. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR. I HAVE THE FEELING THE DEALERSHIP IS JUST RESETTING THE LIGHT AND NOT TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. SEAT BELT WON'T RELEASE WHEN BELTED. MY 4 MONTH OLD 2006 CHRYSLER 300 DECIDED THAT IT WOULD NOT RELEASE THE SEAT BELT WHEN THE RED RELEASE BUTTON WAS PUSHED. IT WOULD TAKE 2-10 PRESSES FOR IT TO RELEASE. IT WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY WITHOUT INCIDENT, BUT A COWORKER MENTIONED HIS MINIVAN WAS DOING THE SAME THING (HAD NOT REPAIRED IT YET), AND I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THIS WAS BEING WATCHED. WHEN VEHICLE IS PLACED IN REVERSE, YOU MUST KEEP YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE, AS THE CAR ROLLS FORWARD (THIS IS ON ANY SLIGHT INCLINE) DOES THIS EVERYTIME. CHRYSLER SAYS, I HAVE TO KEEP MY FOOT ON BRAKE WHEN GOING IN REVERSE TO KEEP CAR FROM ROLLING FORWARD. FEELS LIKE THE REVERSE GEAR IS NOT LOCKING IN PLACE AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO. SAFETY ISSUE . *NM
DT: WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 35 MPH THE FRONT RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE AXLE BROKE OFF WITH THE WHEEL INTACT. THIS HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING, NO PREVIOUS INCIDENTS. THE VEHICLE SKIDDED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND THIS WAS WHERE THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED. WITNESSES CALLED POLICE WHO QUICKLY ARRIVED ON THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A GARAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT BEHIND AT THE GARAGE, AND THE CONSUMER WANTED TO CONTINUE HER TRIP AND GOT A RENTAL CAR TO PROCEED FURTHER. ON JUNE 24, 2005, I PURCHASED A NEW 2006 CHRYSLER 300C SRT8. I CURRENTLY HAVE 1972 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKING PERFORMANCE OF MY VEHICLE THAT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED AFTER SEVERAL REPAIR ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENJOYMENT AND MY EXPECTATIONS ARE NOT BEING MET. UPON APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES, MY VEHICLE MAKES A VERY LOUD SQUEAKING SOUND THAT LESSENS THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE IMPLIED COMFORT THAT A REASONABLE PERSON SHOULD EXPECT FROM HIS/HER VEHICLE. THE ENGINE DIES 4 TO 5 TIMES ON THE ROAD AFTER FILLING UP THE TANK, IT HAPPENS IF I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL TO SLOW DOWN OR TO STOP, IT IS STRESSFUL WHEN YOU LOOS CONTROL OF THE CAR ON THE STREETS ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE TURNING ON A CORNER. IT STARTED ON JULY 1918 AND IT HAS HAPPENED FOR THE 15 TIMES THAT I HAD FILLED UP THE CAR WITH GAS WITH NO EXCEPTIONS. I KEEP RECORDS OF DATES, MY MILEAGE AND USED GAS.
