TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRYING TO SHIFT TO DRIVE, THE SHIFT LOCK MECHANISM SEIZED MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SHIFT GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE CONTACT THROUGH INTERNET RESEARCH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND STOPPED AT A PARKING LOT, AND WHEN I STARTED TO LEAVE MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK. I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT WHEN THE SHIFTER BREAKS THE CAR MUST BE TOWED FOR REPAIR. JUST AFTER I CALLED THE WRECKER A PICK-UP IN THE SAME PARKING LOT CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE BUSINESS TRIED TO EVACUATE THE PARKING LOT, BUT I WAS NOT ABLE TO LEAVE UNTIL THE WRECKER ARRIVED. THANK GOODNESS WE WERE FAR ENOUGH AWAY FROM THE BURNING PICK-UP THAT THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO MY CAR, BUT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY DIFFERENT STORY IF I WAS PARKED NEXT TO THE PICK-UP. THE DEALER OVER-NIGHTED THE PART FROM TULSA OKLAHOMA AND REPLACED THE PART THE NEXT MORNING. WE WERE CHARGED FOR TOWING AND REPAIR. SINCE THERE HAVE BEEN THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SHIFTER BREAKING, I FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL ITEM, THUS WE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CHARGED. *TR
I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT & FRONT END BEGAN TO SHAKE , I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT & SHUT CAR OFF . I GOT OUT AND SEEN ANTI-FREEZE COMING OUT , SO I CALLED AAA & HAD MY CAR TOWED APPROX 38 MILES TO MY SHOP . MY MECHANIC PICKED THE CAR UP THE FOLLOWING TUESDAY & REPAIRED IT . HE SAID THE ENGINE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY SEPARATED & TWO OF THE FAN BLADES BROKE OFF & WENT THROUGH MY RADIATOR . AFTER I PICKED IT UP , I BEGAN RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM . I FOUND A ( CAMPAIGN - RADIATOR COOLING FAN REPLACEMENT BULLETIN FROM CHRYSLER CORP. FROM JUNE 2011 ( MDH 042912 ) THAT SAID THE FAN COULD SEPARATE & CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE RADIATOR , I NEVER RECEIVED NOTICE & I GAVE THEM MY VIN # & THEY SAID MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL & WOULD NOT RE-IMBURSE ME FOR THE REPAIR OR TOW BILL . THEY SAID THAT WAS FOR 2006-2007 & 2008 MODELS BUILT UP TO APRIL 29 , 2008 ( MY CAR WAS BUILT IN MAY OF 2007 ) , I TOLD THEM THAT THE SAME PROBLEM LISTED IN THE RECALL HAPPENED TO MY CAR . STARTED VEHICLE, APPLIED THE BRAKE AND WENT TO MOVE THE SHIFTER FROM PARK TO REVERSE AND THE SHIFTER WOULD NOT MOVE FROM PARK. *TR
I WENT TO START MY CAR AND COULD NOT GET THE SHIFTER OUT OF PARK, HAD A MECHANIC FRIEND OF MY THAT WORKS FOR FORD REPLACE A PART IN THE SHIFTER.....I HAVE READ THIS HAPPENS A LOT ON THESE VEHICLES
I HAD A FULL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUTDOWN. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I HAD THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER CHECK THE BATTERY LEVEL AND IT WAS GOOD. NO LIGHTS, POWER, NOTHING. RPM & SPEEDOMETER WERE STILL PEGGED AT THE LEVEL THEY WERE AT WHEN THE ISSUE OCCURRED. *TR
BROKEN PRK LOCK OUT MECHANISM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH,THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE AND SWAY BACK AND FORTH ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE SWAY BAR WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000. UPDATED 05/11/12 *BF
WARNING LIGHTS AND INSTRUMENT GAUGES WILL GO ON AND OFF AND WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT ALSO. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE AND HAVE READ OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENING. OUR CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW AND ONLY HAS 18000 MILES ON IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, ALL OF THE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
SINCE FEB 2012, THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (ETC) LIGHT COMES ON WHEN THE CAR IS FIRST STARTED & IDLING. AFTER THE CAR WARMS UP & IS RESTARTED, IT SEEMS TO RUN OK. IF I TRY TO DRIVE THE CAR BEFORE IT WARMS UP, THE ETC & THE ANTI-LOCK BREAK LIGHTS COME ON. THE ENGINE LOSES POWER & CONTROL OF THE STEERING & BRAKES. AFTER A COUPLE OCCURRENCES, ON 21 FEB 2012, I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER (TATE DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP, INC. IN GLEN BURNIE, MD). AFTER BEING AT THE DEALER FOR 2 WKS & $180 IN SERVICE FEES, THE PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. SINCE 2012, THE PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED TO OCCUR MORE OFTEN. NOW IT OCCURS EVERY TIME I START THE CAR. *TR
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL AND TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM LIGHTS STAY ON AND THEN THE CAR SHUTS DOWN, CAN'T BRAKE, THE CAR SHAKES, IT STALLS AND IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN (EACH TIME STARTING IN NOVEMBER) WHILE I AM DRIVING ON 476. I AM LUCKY EACH TIME TO MAKE IT TO PULL OVER AND THEN ALL THE SYSTEM FAILS. I AM ABLE TO START IT AGAIN AND THEN THE SAME THING HAPPENS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO AUTO ZONE, 2 MECHANICS AND NO ONE IS ABLE TO LOCATE ANYTHING ON THEIR DIAGNOSTICS. HIGHLAND MOTORS (WHERE WE PURCHASED THE CAR) NEVER TOLD US THAT THE CAR WAS RECALLED FOR ANY ISSUES, NEVER GAVE US ANY INFORMATION ON THE CAR, WE WERE JUST ALMOST KILLED A FEW TIMES AND DECIDED TO LOOK UP INFORMATION ON THE CAR AND FOUND WELL OVER 100,000 COMPLAINTS ONLINE FOR IT. *TR
IGNITION SWITCH BROKE, UNDRIVEABLE, COMPLETELY DISABLED, HAD TO CALL WRECKER FOR TRANSPORTATION. I BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH 6 MILES ON IT. I HAVE MAINTAINED IT CAREFULLY. I BOUGHT A NEW VEHICLE FOR DEPENDABLE TRANSPORTATION. I RECENTLY PAID IT OFF SO I COULD BE OUT OF CAR DEBT. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS CAR HAS LEFT MY FAMILY STRANDED. 6800 MILES EARLIER THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER BROKE (ODI NUMBER) IS10419761. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT THE GEAR SELECTOR INTO PARK BUT THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
EMERGENCY CAR JACK FAILED WHILE CHANGING TIRE ON FLAT SURFACE, CAR JACK GAVE OUT AND DROPPED VEHICLE BREAKING REAR STABILIZER BAR. COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED IF I WAS BY TIRE LOCATION OR UNDER VEHICLE. THE CAR ALSO HAS A SHIFTER COLUMN THAT WILL LOCK IN PARK AND WILL NOT CHANGE TO ANY OTHER GEAR, LOCKS SHIFTER LEAVING YOU STRANDED. CHRYSLER HAS RECALL ON OTHER VEHICLES USING SAME EQUIPMENT BUT NOT THE 2007 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CAR JACK COULD NOT SUPPORT VEHICLE AND BENT ALMOST IN HALF. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE REMAINED STUCK IN PARK AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER GEAR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

REAR PARKING/TAIL LIGHTS FUSE BLOWS EVERY TIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN THE NIGHT TIME IF THE LIGHTS ARE TURNED ON. THE FUSE REMAINS GOOD IF DRIVING DURING THE DAY TIME AND THE LIGHTS ARE NOT ON. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE INTERNAL SHIFT PLATE ASSEMBLY WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300 TOURING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS STUCK IN PARK, CAUSING THE VEHICLE NOT TO MOVE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V341000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
I JUST PURCHASED MY CAR IN LATE APRIL IT IS NOW NOVEMBER. I DIDN'T NOTICE THE BRAKE PROBLEM WHICH IS A VIBRATION WHEN I CAME TO A STOP, UNTIL A WEEK AFTER. I FIGURED I PROBABLY NEED NEW BRAKE PADS. ONE OF MY LEAST CONCERNS. BUT LAST MONTH I BEGAN TO SMELL GAS. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THE OTHER VEHICLES AROUND ME OR THE LOCATION I WAS AT. I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR AND THERE'S WAS NO LEAK. I KEPT DOING THIS WHEN I SMELLED GAS AND NOTHING. LAST NIGHT NOVEMBER 6 2011, I FILLED UP MY TANK TO GO OUT OF TOWN. WHEN I WAS LEAVING TO GO BACK HOME FROM THE LONG RIDE, THE PARKING AREA SMELLED LIKE GAS! IT WAS LEAKING FROM MY CAR! ABOUT A QUARTER OF GAS LEAKED. THIS TIME I SAW A PUDDLE ON THE GROUND WHERE THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE WOULD BE. NOT ONLY WAS THIS EMBARRASSING BUT I HAD MY WIFE AND CHILD WITH ME IN THE CAR THAT I HAD TO TAKE HOME SMELLING THIS AS WELL AS TAKING THE RISK OF BLOWING UP! WE DID NOT HAVE ANY OTHER WAY OF GETTING HOME, THAT'S WHY I HAD NO CHOICE AND TOOK THE RISK. THANK GOD WE GOT HOME SAFE. THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS. *TR

MY 2007 CHRYSLER 300C HAS A LIFETIME POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. I RECEIVED THE DOCUMENT LISTING THE PARTS COVERED FOR THE LIFETIME WARRANTY. MY ABS, ESP AND TCS LIGHTS CAME ON. THE RIGHT REAR SPEED SENSOR WENT BAD. I CALLED GRAVEN AND SET UP APPOINTMENT FOR WARRANTY WORK. I ALSO CALLED CHRYSLER CORP. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO GRAVEN CHRYSLER, 10-10-11 AT APPROX. 2:30PM. GRAVEN CHRYSLER CALLED THE NEXT MORNING, 10-11-11 7:53AM MY CAR WAS READY. GRAVEN SAID IT WAS GOING TO COST $135. I SAID THAT THE WORK WAS WARRANTY. GRAVEN SAID IT WASN'T WARRANTY WORK BECAUSE PART NUMBER DOESN'T COME BACK AS WARRANTY. I EXPLAINED TO THE ASSISTANT THAT IT IS WARRANTY, THAT MY CAR HAS A LIFETIME POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. SHE SAID THAT ONLY COVERS THE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND DRIVELINE. I SAID IT ALSO COVERS A LOT OF OTHER PARTS WHICH I HAVE A LIST OF. SHE THEN SAID, YOU WILL HAVE TO TALK WITH CHRYSLER AND THERE WAS NOTHING SHE COULD DO. CHRYSLER SAID I HAVE TO PAY A $50.00 CO-PAY. I SAID WHY SHOULD I PAY A CO-PAY WHEN THIS PART HAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD I CAN PAY THE $50.00 OR $185. I SAID THAT I WAS TOLD IT WAS $135. I SAID FOR NOW I WILL PAY THE $50.00 BUT WOULD FILE A COMPLAINT FOR THE WARRANTY AND GETTING MY $50.00 BACK. THE NEXT DAY I RECEIVED A CALL FROM CHRYSLER. I WAS ASKED HOW MY CAR WAS RUNNING. I SAID IT DROVE HOME OK. SHE SAID THAT SHE WOULD CLOSE THE CASE THEN. I SAID THAT I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU MADE ME PAY $50.00 CO-PAY WHEN THE PART IS LISTED ON THE PAPERWORK AS HAVING A LIFETIME WARRANTY UNDER THE POWERTRAIN. SHE SAID THAT I COULD CALL GRAVEN CHRYSLER BACK AND TRY AND GET THEM TO EXCEPT IT. I SAID, WHY, YOU ARE THE PERSON WHO MAKES THE DECISION AS YOU DID ABOUT THE CO-PAY AND THE GRAVEN CHRYSLER WOULDN'T EVEN DO THAT. CHRYSLER CORP CASE NUMBER [XXX]. I HAVE A 2007 CHRYSLER 300, WENT OUT THIS AM TO GO TO WORK AND THE GEAR SHIFT IS STUCK IN PARK. HAD TO GET A RIDE INTO WORK. GOT ON LINE AND FOUND PAGES OF THIS SAME PROBLEM ON MULTIPLE CARS FROM CHRYSLER. SAW THE K39 NOTIFICATION FORM CALLED CHRYSLER, MY VIN IS NOT LISTED, THEY CAN'T HELP ME OUT. PER OTHER PEOPLE WILL COST $300-600.00 TO FIX OUT OF MY POCKET. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED ON ANY VEHICLE IT AFFECTS. CALLED THE PARTS DEPT. AT CHRYSLER THE PART IS 85 CENTS. BUT THE DEALER WILL CHARGE YOU AN ARM AND A LEG FOR THE LABOR TO DO IT. THIS IS RIDICULOUS, I'M DISGUSTED WITH CHRYSLER RIGHT NOW. THEY NEED TO STEP UP AND DO THE RIGHT THING, THEIR CUSTOMER VALUE HAS GONE OUT THE WINDOW.I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANY MORE CARS FROM THEM IN THE FUTURE. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND TOOK A REPORT. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 99,500.

I WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON I-95 AT 70 MPH IN SOUTH CAROLINA. FUEL GAUGE INDICATED 1/4 TANK OF GAS AND OVER 100 MILES TO EMPTY. THE OBD LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR SLOWED DOWN (5-10 MPH). I WAS ABLE TO ROLL IT OFF THE ROAD ONTO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. GAS GAUGE INDICATED A 1/4 TANK OF FUEL. I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND SAT FOR15 MINUTES. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, IT ACTED AS THOUGH IT HAD NO GAS. HOWEVER, THE GAUGE SHOWED A 1/4 TANK FULL. VEHICLE WAS TOWED (AAA) TO AN EXXON STATION IN GABLE, SC. FUEL WAS ADDED TO THE TANK AND THE CAR COULD BE STARTED. THE ADDITION OF $25.00 OF FUEL (6 GALLONS?) DID NOT MOVE THE GAUGE FROM THE 1/4 TANK LEVEL. AN ADDITIONAL $25 FUELING BROUGHT THE GAUGE ALMOST UP TO FULL. I DROVE IT ROUGHLY 500 MILES FROM SC TO MD WITHOUT INCIDENT. HOWEVER, I DID NOT ALLOW FUEL LEVEL TO DROP BELOW 1/2.
INCIDENT HAPPENED WITH 2007 CHRYSLER 300 AT 61,OOO MILES. THIS OCCURRED ONE TIME WITH THE CONSEQUENCE OF BEING STUCK WHERE YOU ARE PARKED, UNDRIVEABLE, COMPLETELY DISABLED. VEHICLE CANNOT BE MOVED, UNLESS YOU REMOVE THE SHIFTER COVER AND PUSH A PART OF THE SHIFTER WITH YOUR FINGER. THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. WE WERE FIRST TOLD AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS WAS A RECALLED PART AND WE WOULDN'T BE CHARGED. AFTER WAITING A WEEK AND A DAY, WE WERE CHARGED, TO GET OUR VEHICLE BACK I PAID THE BILL. I ASKED FOR MY OLD SHIFTER ASSEMBLY BACK AND GRUDGINGLY GOT IT BACK. WE ARE CURRENTLY DRIVING THE CAR. *KB

A CLAIM WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,930.
