MY CAR WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I CALLED DEALERSHIP, AND THEY TOLD ME MY CAR DID NOT QUALIFY.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON FOR P1004 CEL"INTAKE SHORT RUNNER CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR, A TSB IS LISTED AS CHRYSLER KNOWINGLY ACKNOWLEDGES A FAULTY PART AND HAS ISSUED A TSB REPAIR COST APPROX $2000 FOR A KNOW DEFECTIVE ACTUATOR THAT MAY BE STUCK DUE TO A POOR DESIGN, WILL NOT PASS CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS DUE TO CEL CHRYSLER WILL NOT HONOR UNDER WARRANTY THAT EXPIRED IN JULY, ATTEMPTED TO GET REPAIRED AT DEALER WAS DENIED SAID WAS NOT COVERED, SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, OR AT LEAST EMISSIONS WARRANTY THAT IS 7 YEARS OR 100000 MILES FROM MY UNDERSTANDING. PLEASE ADVISE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300C. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, IT BEGAN EMITTING SMOKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MANUFACTURER RECALL RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000. THE VIN AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE FROM PARK TO DRIVE-VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 30,000 MILES FOR THIS SAFETY SWITCH TO ALREADY MALFUNCTION. *TR
I CAME OUT OF THE WORK ON 5/30/13, AND STARTED THE CAR. I TRIED TO SHIFT THE GEAR FROM PARK, BUT IT WOULD NOT BUDGE. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ON SEVERAL TIMES TO MAKE SURE THAT THE CAR WAS ON. THE GEAR SHIFT STILL DIDN'T MOVE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO ASK WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE. AND ASKED ME FOR THE VIN # I GAVE IT TO THEM AND THE TOLD ME MY CAR WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST IF THIS IS SUCH A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM AS THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN SAID IT WAS, WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ISSUED FOR ALL OF 2007 AND NOT JUST FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER COULD NOT BE MOVED FROM PARK. THE CONSOLE PANEL WAS REMOVED IN ORDER TO ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY MECHANISM LOCATED UNDER THE GEAR SHIFT INTERLOCK LEVER. THE TEMPORARY FIX ALLOWED THE CONTACT TO SHIFT THE GEAR LEVER OUT OF PARK HOWEVER, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE GEAR HAD TO BE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED. THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MANUFACTURER'S CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,970.
THE OPERATER COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO MOVE FROM PARK TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS ADVISED THAT THE SHIFT LEVEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT THE GEAR LEVER HOWEVER, THE GEAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE WHERE A CERTIFIED MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE SHIFT INTERLOCK WAS REPLACED. THERE WAS A VOLUNTARY RECALL ISSUED BY THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK LEVEL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE ENGINE RPMS ERRONEOUSLY INCREASED AND THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT 68 MPH AND ENGINE JUST DIE WITH OUT NOTICE. ALSO 4 OR 5 TIME ENGINE DIE AFTER ACCELERATING FROM 0 TO 5-10 MPH. ENGINE JUSY STALL WITH OUT POWER. I HAVE TO PUT CAR ON PARK AND START THE ENGINE AGAIN. *TR
I CAME OUT OF THE STORE ON 4/24/13, PLACED MY BAGS IN THE CAR AND STARTED THE CAR. I TRIED TO SHIFT THE GEAR FROM PARK, BUT IT WOULD NOT BUDGE. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ON SEVERAL TIMES TO MAKE SURE THAT THE CAR WAS ON. THE GEAR SHIFT STILL DIDN'T MOVE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO ASK WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE AND TO LOOK UP A VIDEO ON YOUTUBE AND IT WOULD TELL ME HOW TO POP IT INTO GEAR. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT I HAD NO TOOLS. ONCE I GOT THE TOOLS, THE INSTRUCTION FROM THE VIDEO WORKED. MY QUESTION IS, IF THIS IS SUCH A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM AS THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN SAID IT WAS, WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ISSUED? AS SOON AS I GOT HOME AND PARKED, IT LOCKED UP AGAIN. THIS IS NOT SAFE. *TR
THE CAR INVOLVED IS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT & FRONT END BEGAN TO SHAKE , I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT & SHUT CAR OFF . I GOT OUT AND SEEN ANTI-FREEZE COMING OUT. MY MECHANIC PICKED THE CAR UP AND SAID THE ENGINE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY SEPARATED & THE FAN BLADES BROKE OFF & WENT THROUGH MY RADIATOR AND ALSO CAUSED ENGINE ISSUES . AFTER I PICKED IT UP , I BEGAN RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM . I FOUND A ( CAMPAIGN - RADIATOR COOLING FAN REPLACEMENT BULLETIN FROM CHRYSLER CORP. FROM JUNE 2011 ( MDH 042912 ) THAT SAID THE FAN COULD SEPARATE & CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE RADIATOR , I NEVER RECEIVED NOTICE & I GAVE THEM MY VIN # & THEY SAID MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL & WOULD NOT RE-IMBURSED ME FOR THE REPAIR AND TOW BILL . THEY SAID THAT WAS FOR 2006-2007 & 2008 MODELS BUILT UP TO APRIL 29 , 2008 ( MY CAR WAS BUILT IN MAY OF 2007 ) , I TOLD THEM THAT THE SAME PROBLEM LISTED IN THE RECALL HAPPENED TO MY CAR . APRIL 11, 2013 IS WHEN THIS COOLING FAN ISSUE HAPPENED. *TR
ONCE I STARTED MY CAR AND TRIED TO MOVE THE GEAR TO REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND THE GEAR WOULD NOT MOVE FROM PARK POSITION. TRIED MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL THINKING IT WAS MAKING THE GEAR STICK BUT TO NO AVAIL. HAD TO EVENTUALLY CALL A TOW TRUCK WHO TOLD ME THAT WASN'T HIS FIRST CHRYSLER 300 HE'S HAD TO TOW FOR THE SAME ISSUE. HE HAD TO GET UNDER THE CAR AS WELL AS GO THRU A PANEL BESIDE THE GEARS IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO EVEN MOVE TO BE PLACED ON THE TOW TRUCK. AFTER DROPPING OFF TO THE DEALERSHIP, I RESEARCHED TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY ISSUES WITH THE CHRYSLER 300 2007 SERIES CAR. TURNS OUT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR SOME OF THE CHRYSLERS BUILT FROM JUNE - SEPTEMBER 2007 FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY WERE ABLE TO GET A RECALL TO HAVE THE ISSUE FIXED. I GOT THE ISSUE FIXED AS WELL BUT HAD TO PAY. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER WHO TOLD ME BECAUSE MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN MAY 2007 THAT THERE SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ANY ISSUE AND THEREFORE NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. CLEARLY CHRYSLER IS WRONG. *TR
JUST FILLED UP WITH PREMIUM 93 GAS. WAS HEADING TO WORK & STOPPED AT A LIGHT. CAR IDLE BECAME ROUGH. RPM'S DROPPED & THE CAR STALLED. IT TOOK 2 TRIES TO RESTART IT WHILE I WAS SITTING AT THE LIGHT WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND & IN FRONT OF ME. ONCE STARTED IT RAN FINE. NO OBD2 CODES COULD BE FOUND. IT HAS DONE THIS 4 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. BRAND OF GAS DOESN'T MATTER. *TR
THE SHIFT LEVEL IS STUCK IN PARK. WITH THE BRAKE PRESSED, IT WILL MOVE RIGHT BUT NOT DOWN INTO GEAR. IF I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, IT WILL NOT MOVE TO THE RIGHT AT ALL. THE RECOGNITION OF THE BRAKE BE DEPRESSED APPEARS TO BE WORKING. I WAS 120 MILES FROM HOME SO I TOOK THE CONSOLE APART AROUND THE GEAR SHIFTER AND FOUND A CABLE THAT I COULD PULL BACKWARDS AND THEN WAS ABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2007 CHRYSLER 300 AT THE END OF 2012 WITH 24K MILES ON IT. SINCE PURCHASING IT THE CAR HAS CONTINUED TO STALL - WHILE IN MOTION AT SPEEDS OF 55 MPH AND WHILE UNDER 10 MPH. I HAVE INVESTED A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF MONEY OVER A TWO YEAR PERIOD TRYING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM INCLUDING THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PURGE VALVE IN DECEMBER 2014. THE CAR STALLED AGAIN TODAY WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, AND WAS DIFFICULT TO RESTART. *TR
SHIFT PARK LOCK MECHANISM - WE ARE JUST GET THIS PROBLEM AND CALL CHRYSLER THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY HAD RECALL K36 AND K16. A LOT OF THESE PROBLEM ONLINE BUT PEOPLE FIX BY THEM SELF. SOME OF THE GET PAY A LOT MONEY TO FIX THIS ISSUE. I THINK THIS IS FLAWS THAT CHRYSLER SHOULD RECALL TO FIX ALL THE CAR. HAPPEN AROUND FROM 50,000 MILES. HOPE OFFICIAL WILL GET CHRYSLER SEND LETTER OUT TO FIX ALL. I WON'T BUY CHRYSLER AGAIN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC ADVISED HER THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000. VEHICLE WOULDN'T COME OUT OF PARK. WENT ONLINE AND FOUND OUT ABOUT THE PINK THINGIES. THE OVERRIDE ONE DID NOT WORK. WAS ABLE TO PRESS THE OTHER ONE IN AND GOT IT INTO REVERSE AND IT WAS STUCK THERE. JUST HAPPENED TO ALSO MANUALLY PRESS THE SHIFT CABLE INTO PLACE (AFTER 2 HOURS) AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT INTO DRIVE. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE STATION, THEY HAVE THIS REPLACEMENT PART IN STOCK BECAUSE IT BREAKS SO OFTEN. AND ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER OUR VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER THE RECALL (ONLY "SOME" ARE), AND THEY WOULD NOTATE OUR DISSATISFACTION (THEY KNOW AND ADMIT THAT THIS BREAKS OFTEN, BUT WON'T FIX IT ON "ALL" EFFECTED VEHICLES). THANKFULLY IT DID THIS AFTER WE CAME BACK FROM THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND.

FOR THE PAST 1 1/2 YEARS MY CAR HAS BEEN TURNING OFF WHEN THE CAR IS IDLE OR STUCK IN TRAFFIC (BARELY USING ANY GAS). IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND MAKING TURNS. NO INDICATION OF TURNING OFF, STEERING JUST LOCKS UP BUT CAR STARTS RIGHT BACK UP. I TOOK MY CAR SOMEWHERE LAST YEAR AND THEY SAID NO CODES CAME SO THEY COULDN'T HELP ME. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300M. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRYING TO SHIFT INTO PARK THE GEAR SELECTOR BECAME STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 54,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300 TOURING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT FROM PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 6,723.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BUT THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE RADIATOR AND THE FAN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE 300C (HEMI) HESITATES WHEN PULLING OFF, STOPPING AND/OR ACCELERATING. IT IS A DANGER WHEN MERGING FROM RAMPS ON BECAUSE IT DOES NOT PULL OFF WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED; IT HESITATES, THEN TAKE OFF WITH A LOT OF POWER CAUSING THE CAR TO MOVE FARTHER TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT OF THE INTENDED DIRECTION BECAUSE OF THE HEMI POWER WHEN ACCELERATION CATCHES UP. IT IS A DANGER AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED OR MAIMED IF IT HAS NOT ALREADY OCCURRED. *TR
MY CAR CUTS OFF VERY FREQUENTLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW. WE READ THAT IT COULD BE THE FUEL SENSOR BUT I CAN HAVE A FULL TANK OF GAS OR HALF TANK AND IT STILL CUTS OFF. IT HAS CUT OFF AT THE RED LIGHT, GREEN LIGHT WHILE CROSSING THE INTERSECTION, GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY ETC. WE HAVE BROUGHT IN TO PLACES BUT THEY CANNOT FIND WHAT'S CAUSING IT TO SHUT OFF. THE CAR WAS BROUGHT FROM DRIVE TIME AND IT'S STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO WE ASKED DRIVE TIME TO ALLOW US TO BRING IT TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP BUT THEY REFUSED AND SAID THEIR SHOPS SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT. WE KNOW THAT THE FEDS ARE INVESTIGATING CHRYSLER FOR ENGINE STALLING BUT WE HAVE YET TO HAVE HELP WITH THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I FEAR FOR OUT OR ANYONE LIFE WHO ARE IN THIS VEHICLE WITH US. PLEASE HELP WITH THIS MATTER. *TR
THE 300C SHIFTER WAS STUCK IN PARK AND WOULD NOT MOVE. I LEFT THE CAR PARKED AND LATER THAT EVENING, THE SHIFTER MOVED TO OTHER GEARS. THIS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES, SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER INFORMING THEM OF THE OCCURRENCES. THE SERVICE REP TOLD ME THAT WAS A PROBLEM THAT HAD BEEN OCCURRING WITH THE 300C MODELS. *TR
WHEN SHIFTING INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE, THERE IS A NOTICABLE DELAY IN RESPONDING SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR IN SEPT. 2011. I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH 67,000 MILES, AND NOW HAS 83,000 MILES. THERE IS ALSO A DANGEROUS PAUSE/DELAY THAT OCCURS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, ESPECIALLY IN TRAFFIC. ONCE THE TRANSMISSION CATCH, IT MAKES THE CAR LUNGE IN EITHER TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT DEPENDING ON DIRECTION OF FRONT TIRES. I HAVE TAKEN CAR TO THE DEALER WHO INDICATED THE 300 HEMI DOES THAT WITH THE ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION BECAUSE OF THE POWER OF THE ENGINE AND NOTHING CAN BE DONE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY CHRYSLER AND NOT THE OWNER. *TR
I APPLIED THE BRAKE TO SHIFT CAR OUT OF "PARK" AND IT WOULD NOT SHIFT. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY NEEDED REPLACEMENT. AFTER RESEARCHING THE INTERNET, THERE ARE SEVERAL TYPES OF THESE COMPLAINTS. THERE IS A RECALL OUT, BUT MY MODEL YEAR AND VIN DO NOT MEET THE RECALL CRITERIA. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO PARK WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. WHEN SHE ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT VEHICLE BACK INTO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. A DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED HER THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE DEFECT UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V341000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) HOWEVER, HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OUTSIDE PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT AND PASSENGER'S SIDE REAR DOOR HANDLES DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR HANDLES WERE DESIGNED TO SWIVEL BUT INSTEAD WERE COMING STRAIGHT FORWARD. I WENT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE ONE DAY AND IT WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I DID CONSIDERABLE RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THE SAME THING HAPPENING. THE REPORTED ISSUE IS THAT THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFT LEVER INTERLOCK SPRING BREAKS RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE BEING STUCK IN PARK. I FOUND A TEMPORARY BYPASS METHOD UNTIL I COULD GET IT REPAIRED. ONLINE, I FOUND THAT THERE WAS A POSSIBLE RECALL: CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION K39. I CALLED CHRYSLER RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER AND THEY ADVISED THAT ALTHOUGH THERE IS A RECALL ON SOME VEHICLES, MY VIN # WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL GROUP, THEREFORE I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR MYSELF. I ALSO SEARCHED ON THIS WEBSITE, AND FOUND ANOTHER REPORT OF THE SAME TYPE: ODI ID NUMBER : 10470372. IT IS QUITE DISSATISFIED THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS MYSELF WHEN THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AND BASED ON MY INTERNET RESEARCH THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD, COMMON PROBLEM. I WAS FORTUNATE THAT THIS HAPPENED AT MY HOUSE WHERE I HAD ACCESS TO THE INTERNET TO RESEARCH AND LOCATE A BYPASS AND HAD TOOLS AVAILABLE TO DISMANTLE THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY TO ACCESS THE BYPASS. THIS COULD CAUSE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE IF SOMEBODY WERE TO GET STUCK IN A BAD LOCATION AND HAD TO WAIT FOR A TOW TRUCK OR SOME OTHER METHOD OF HELP TO ARRIVE. *TR
