TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT FROM PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER INTERLOCK AND THE SPRING HOOK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000. UPDATED 08/18/14*LJ
WHEN THE CAR STARTS, THERE IS NO STATION LISTED ON THE RADIO. ALL I SEE IS RED LINES AND THE LONGER I DRIVE THAT PART ( CHANNEL INDICATOR) GETS HOT. IT LOOKS LIKE THERE IS FIRE BEHIND IT. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL START A FIRE. IT COOLS DOWN WHEN I TURN OFF THE CAR. I STARTED THE CAR THIS MORNING (6/15/14) NOW THERE ARE ONLY ABOUT 4 LINES SHOWING, BUT IT STILL STARTS TO GET HOT. I'M GOING TO TRY TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALER(HERITAGE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OWINGS MILLS,MD. 21117 410-356-1800) WHICH IS ABOUT 10 MILES FROM MY HOUSE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SHIFT LEVER BECAME STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
THE GEAR SELECTOR WILL NOT GO OUT OF PARK AND INTO REVERSE (OR ANY OTHER GEAR). I CHECKED ON LINE AND FOUND OUT THAT 100'S OF OTHER OWNERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM ON 2006-2009 CHRYSLER 300'S. THE PART IS ABOUT $56.00. NOT SURE HOW MUCH THE LABOR WOULD BE TO INSTALL IT. *TR
RADIATOR COOLING FANS PN 24041556 CAVITY 1. THE FAN BLADES SEPARATED WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AND FORTUNATELY FOR US SHE WAS COMING TO A STOP. THE FAN BLADE(S) CAUSE MULTIPLE HOLES TO THE RADIATOR DISABLING THE CAR SO WE HAD THE CAR TOLLED. BOTH RADIATOR AND THE FAN ASSEMBLY WHERE DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR. I CALLED CHRYSLER AT THE CS # 1-800-853-1403 ON THE RECALL NOTIFICATION ON THE WEB AT WWW.WKJEEPS.COM/MISC/LX/TSB_300C_FORUMS/CSN_L08.PDF WHICH HAS MY MAKE, YEAR AND MODEL AS PART OF THIS RECALL BUT THEY SAID THEY MY CAR DID NOT FIT THE RECALL SPECIFICS AND NO NOTICE SENT DUE TO SOME SPECIFICS WHICH THEY DID NOT TELL ME AND WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE TO REPAIRS THE VEHICLE ON THIS RECALL OR ANY OTHER MEANS . HOWEVER PER THE NOTICE L08 SPECIFIES THE SAME DEFECT AND RESULTS WHICH HAPPENED WITH THE FAN MY CAR WITH THIS PART. I CAN'T IMAGINE SOME KID LOOKING DOWN IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHILE HELPING HIS DAD AND THIS FAN BLOWS UP LIKE A PLASTIC BOMB CAUSING SERVER INJURY OR EVEN DEATH OR WHILE DRIVING AND THE DAMAGE IMPAIRS THE VEHICLE BREAK LINE OF STEERING LINE CAUSING THE CAR TO BE UNCONTROLLABLE ON A 85 MPH TOLL ROAD. THIS PART OR RECALL NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND REDONE TO INCLUDE THIS VEHICLE AND OR PN FOR RECALL AS WELL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER BECAME STUCK IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
UNABLE TO GET CAR OUT OF PARK. DROVE CAR ON 5-30, RETURNED HOME PARKED CAR IN GARAGE. ON 5-31-14, WENT TO LEAVE AND CANNOT GET CAR OUT OF PARK. HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME SITUATION. MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT GETTING RESULTS. I AM CALLING THE DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY, CAR WILL HAVE TO BE TOWED. I HAVE READ ABOUT A K39 NOTIFICATION, BUT NO RECALL THAT I CAN FIND. IF THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT, WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL TO FIX. LUCKILY I DO HAVE A 2ND VEHICLE TO DRIVE BUT MOST PEOPLE ONLY HAVE ONE. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE CAR AND THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT SUSPENSION 3 TIME SO FAR AND IT IS MAKING NOISE AGAIN. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO DO THIS WITH AND OTHER CAR I HAVE OWNED. SOMETIME THE STEERING PULLS MAKING IT HARD TO STAY IN MY LANE.
PARKED THE CAR AT HOME AND THE NEXT MORNING COULD NOT REMOVE THE CAR OUT OF PARK. *TR
PER THREE MECHANICS, THE COOLING FAN AND COOLING PIPE THERMOSTAT WENT OUT IN THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT OF THESE PARTS LOOSENING, THE RADIATOR DEVELOPED A HOLE IN IT. MY CAR WAS LEAKING RADIATOR FLUID AND STOPPED RUNNING UNEXPECTEDLY. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP, AND DECIDED TO CALL AROUND FOR A SECOND, THIRD, FOURTH AND FIFTH OPINION. EACH MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL WITH THESE SAME ISSUES LISTED WITH THE SAME VEHICLE TYPE AND YEAR. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER CONSISTENTLY REGARDING THIS ISSUE, BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO ASSIST ME AND REFERRED ME TO THIS WEBSITE. I AM HOPING THAT SOMEONE INVESTIGATES THIS, AS THIS ISSUE IS VERY COSTLY AND NOT AS A RESULT OF ABUSE OR POOR USE OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
CHECK TPM SYSTEM SHOWS ON MY DASH DISPLAY EVERY 10 MINUTES AFTER I START MY VEHICLE. THIS STARTED OCCURRING AFTER I HAD MY TIRES ROTATED. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE TRIED TO DO A BATTERY DISCONNECT AFTER MULTIPLE CALLS . THEY COULD READ ALL OF THE PRESSURES BY USING THE LITTLE WAND ON EACH TIRE. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS OF TRYING TO MAKE THEM FIX WHAT THEY BROKE, THEY SAID THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND THE WHEEL ROTATION MUST HAVE TRIGGERED SOMETHING. THEY STARTED ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS THAT THEY SAID THEY GOT FROM CONSULTING CHRYSLER LIKE "ARE YOU GOING BY A TOWER THAT COULD BE DISTRACTING YOUR SIGNAL?" I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE FOR 7 YEARS AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, I AM GETTING A SIGNAL TO DISTRACT MY SYSTEM. NOT! THEY KICKED ME TO THE CURB AND TERMINATED MY REPAIR ORDER EVEN AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS OF TALKING WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AND GENERAL MANAGER. I CONSULTED ANOTHER TIRE SERVICE COMPANY AND THEY COULD NOT TELL WHY. I AM AT A LOSS AND VERY IRRITATED FROM THE SIGNAL EVERY CAR STARTUP. I HAVE SINCE PAID TO HAVE ANOTHER TIRE ROTATION TO SEE IF I COULD CHANGE THE WAY THE SENSORS ARE READING TO THE MAIN RELAY AND IT SEEMS TO HAVE RESOLVED THE ISSUE FOR NOW. *TR

WHEN I CHANGE THE SEAT BACK AND FORTH ,THE AIR BAG LIGHT TURNS ON. *TR
WE WERE ON THE FREEWAY AND IN THE SPACE OF SEVERAL SECONDS, WE LOST RPMS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THEN THE TRACTION LIGHT, THEN ALL OF THE LIGHTS, THEN IT DIED JUST AS WE GOT ONTO THE SHOULDER. THE MECHANIC HAD TO REPLACE TIMING BELT AND WATER PUMP JUST TO GET IT RUNNING ENOUGH TO RUN THE CODES. MECHANIC REPORTS THAT THERE ARE BENT VALVES AND 4 OF THE CYLINDERS ARE MISFIRING. *TR
THE VEHICLE IS STUCK IN "PARK". PARK LOCK OUT MECHANISM IS NOT FUNCTIONING. HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ON LINE OF OTHER VEHICLE OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM ON THE CHRYSLER 300 AND DODGE MAGNUM. I CAN'T MOVE MY CAR. IT IS STUCK WERE I PARKED IT. *TR
THE CAR WILL START BUT CAN NOT BE SHIFTED FROM THE PARK GEAR. VIN NUMBER DOES NOT MATCH TO THE ONES THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED. PROBLEM IS RECOGNIZED BY AUTO TOWER AND IS FREQUENT. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, WHO ADVISED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MANUFACTURER'S CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN FOR A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK LEVER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED SPORADICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE UNKNOWN REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, WHO THEN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS ALERTED ABOUT THE RECURRING FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,796.
THE CAR COULDN'T BE TAKEN OUT OF PARK. FINALLY BROKE INTO THE SHIFTER LEVER BY REMOVING THE COVERS (VERY TRICKY TO DO, AS I DIDN'T HAVE MY TOOLS), SO MY HUSBAND WOULDN'T HAVE TO COME PICK ME UP AN HOUR AWAY. I ALMOST DIDN'T FIGURE THIS OUT, SO LUCKY FOR ME I KEPT TRYING IT. THERE ARE LOTS (MANY, MANY) SITES THAT TALK ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM ON CHRYSLER 300S, INCLUDING YOUTUBE (WHICH SHOWS HOW TO UNSCREW THE WHOLE THING), AND AUTOMOTIVE FORUMS. THERE ARE SOME SMALL NEON PINK PLASTIC PIECES THAT KEEP THE SHIFTER LEVER WORKING PROPERLY, THE ONLY THING KEEPING THE CAR FROM BECOMING A GIANT PAPERWEIGHT (UNLESS ONE KNOWS TO PULL APART THE COVERS ALL THE WAY TO ACCESS THE GEARS/WIRES - NOT A REASONABLE THING TO EXPECT FROM MOST CONSUMERS). FOR NOW, I HAVE TO PULL A WIRE TO GET OUT OF PARK. HAPPENS WHEN PUT IN REVERSE ALSO. THIS ALSO LEADS TO PPL KEEPING THEIR FOOT ON THE BRAKE INSTEAD OF GOING INTO PARK, JUST SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO MESS WITH THE WIRE. WE HAVE PEOPLE ACCIDENTALLY GOING FORWARD AND HITTING THINGS AS THEY TRY TO STAY IN DRIVE RATHER THAN PUTTING IT INTO PARK, WHILE TALKING TO SOMEONE THEY KNOW ON THE STREET/SIDEWALK AND FORGETTING TO KEEP THEIR FOOT ON THE BRAKE, (BE IT AT A SLOW SPEED, BUT STILL NOT GOOD IF CHILDREN GET IN THE WAY WHILE ONE ISN'T PAYING ATTENTION). I WILL BE TAKING THE CAR BACK TO DEALER TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DOWN ABOUT IT. THIS IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM FOR ANYONE RELYING ON THEIR CAR BEING ABLE TO DO SIMPLE THINGS LIKE SHIFT INTO DRIVE (OR REALLY ANYTHING OTHER THAN 'PARK'), AND IS A SAFETY RISK DUE TO DRIVERS ATTEMPTING TO USE THE CAR. WHAT COULD HAVE DISTURBED THESE PLASTIC PIECES IS MY MILE LONG DIRT DRIVEWAY THAT IS A LITTLE BUMPY AND VERY WET CURRENTLY. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE SOMETHING DONE ON THIS, SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE DON'T GO THROUGH THE SAME PROBLEM AS I DID. THANK YOU! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE BEGAN JERKING VIOLENTLY. THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT BATTERY ACID WAS LEAKING FROM THE BATTERY HOUSING UNIT AND COULD CAUSE A POTENTIAL FAILURE WITH THE COOLANT UNIT. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE BATTERY HOUSING UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE DROVE THROUGH A RED LIGHT AND CRASHED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE EXCESSIVE INTERNAL PRESSURE THAT CAUSED THE AIR BAGS TO RUPTURE PRODUCED METAL FRAGMENTS THAT STRUCK THE PASSENGER. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED A BROKEN NECK AND A BADLY BRUISED AND SWOLLEN FACE. THE DRIVER SUFFERED FROM LOSS OF MEMORY AND SUSTAINED A HEADACHE FOR THREE MONTHS. BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V354000 (AIR BAGS). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000...UPDATED 10/15/14 *BF UPDATED 11/21/14*CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED 1/4 OF THE WAY, THEN BURST. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT THE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY WOULD NOT TURN IN ANY DIRECTION WHEN INSERTED INTO THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE IGNITION HOUSING WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

THE CONTACT HAD TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION INTO THE NEUTRAL POSITION IN ORDER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE WAS 134,000.
THE LUGS HAVE SWOLLEN ON MY VEHICLE AND I CAN NOT GET MY TIRE ROTATION UNTIL I HAVE 20 MORE LUGS BECAUSE THE ONES ON THE TIRE ARE SWOLLEN AND CAN NOT BE REPLACED ONE TAKEN OFF. I CONTACTED SOUTH OAK DODGE AND THEY SAID THIS HAPPEN AND THE COST WOULD BE ON ME FOR REPLACEMENT. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE UNTIL I CAN GET THE MONEY IF I HAVE A TIRE PROBLEM I WILL BE IN BAD SHAPE. I'VE NEVER HAD A CAR WITH THIS TYPE OF ISSUE. AT THIS POINT I WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER CHRYSLER AND AS SOON AS I GET IT FIXED I PLAN ON GETTING RID OF THE VEHICLE. *TR

MY STEERING WENT OUT IN MY 2007 CHRYSLER 300. I WAS TRAVELING SOUTH ON I-5 NEAR EXIT 165A. IT WAS ALL I COULD DO TO JUST KEEP THE VEHICLE GOING STRAIGHT AS I CAME TO A STOP.I HAD TO LEAVE MY VEHICLE MOSTLY IN THE FAST LANE SINCE I COULD NOT STEER IT AND THERE WAS NO SHOULDER TO PULL OVER ONTO. I HAD TO JUMP OVER ON OPEN SPOT THAT I COULD SEE 40 FEET BELOW ME ON I-5 TO GET TO A QUIETER AREA TO MAKE MY PHONE CALLS FOR EMERGENCY HELP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE WRITER HAD NO TIME SO I DID AND FOUND A BROKEN HEAVY DUTY BALL JOINT THAT CONNECTS TO MY FRONT RIGHT WHEEL. IT HAD SHEERED IN THE MIDDLE AND CAUSED MY STEERING TO GO OUT AND DAMAGED MY ABS BRAKING AND THE BRAKE SHIELD PLATE ALONG WITH SCRAPING THE INSIDE OF MY RIGHT FRONT WHEEL. I THEN CALLED CHRYSLER CORPORATE AT THERE HOTLINE AND WAS ASKING ABOUT A RECALL OR WARRANTY HELP. I WENT TO THE PARTS COUNTER AND TALKED WITH THEM AND THEY SAID THIS HAPPENS REGULARLY AND WE KEEP A SUPPLY OF BALL JOINTS ON HAND BECAUSE OF THIS. I PURCHASED THE BALL JOINT FOR MY VEHICLE. I ASKED HOW MUCH TO INSTALL THE PART AND IF THERE WAS A WARRANTY ON THERE WORK. HE SAID FOR 12 MONTHS THEY WOULD WARRANTY THE PART IF THEY INSTALLED IT. THEY FOUND MORE STEERING PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. THEY REPLACED THE LEFT BALL JOINT SINCE THEY SAW IT GOING OUT ALONG WITH THE LEFT AND RIGHT TIE RODS BECAUSE THEY WERE LOOSE ALONG WITH ABS PARTS THAT WERE RUINED. I WAS TOLD THAT THE LOCAL POLICE DRIVE DODGE CHARGERS THAT HAVE THE SAME STEERING AS A CHRYSLER 300 AND THEY ARE REPLACING BALL JOINTS ON THOSE VEHICLES REGULARLY ALONG WITH THE CHRYSLER 300. *TR
THE SHIFTER IN MY VEHICLE HAS AN INTERLOCK LATCH THAT ISN'T PART OF A RECALL. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL OF CARS THAT WERE MADE AFTER MINE. HE NOTED THAT HE JUST ASSISTED A DODGE CHARGER OWNER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND RECOMMENDED I CHECK FOR ANY RECALL DATA FOR THIS ONGOING CHRYSLER PROBLEM. THEY ALL TOLD ME THE SAME THING - I AM ON MY OWN IN REPAIRING THIS PART; IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY NOR RECALL.
