When fueling the vehicle as soon as the pump pops off indicating your tank is filled gass will sphew/ or spray back out of the vehicle and onto the person fueling, the side of the vehicle and the ground. This happens every single time no matter what fuel station you use,regardless of the time of day or temperature outside. After looking online I can see there have been numerous reports of this from other 2007 Chrysler Aspen owners going back several years; however, I have not been able to locate anything indicating this is a recall and my vin number indicates all recalls have been addressed on this vehicle. Is there a solution for this issue, is it being repaired by Chrysler or what is being done? Please let me know, as this is a safety issue for anyone fueling up , anyone in the vehicle or around the vehicle. I noticed it asks for an approximate date of when this occured, there has been several dates so I will provide the date of the most recent issue.
When filling the gas tank up using the "fill lock" feature on nearly all modern fuel pump nozzles, when the tank gets full the fill nozzle clicks off and about a half a pint of raw fuel is "purged" back out of the tank filler neck. At first I thought this was a problem at a specific fuel station. I have since learned that it can do it anywhere, at any time of day, and at any temperature.
My 07 Chrysler aspen has a huge fuel problem and as I have read it’s happening to a lot of people! When I fill my car up with fuel no matter what store I am at the gas starts spewing back out of the tank. I do not over fill my car the moment the gas pump clicks that it’s done, a lot of gas starts spewing out onto the ground! I believe this is a potential hazardous ? situation for all involved especially my family! For one I am stressed out about if there were to be an accidental rollover the gas would go everywhere, and 2 when it pours out onto the ground or could even splash out onto my skin I could end up with chemical burns or the bio hazard issue we are having with the gas just being powered onto the ground without me being able to control it! Chrysler doesn’t seem to think this is a problem or that it’s hazardous! But when people go to have the problem fixed they are telling everyone it’s a faulty gas tank and you have to replace the entire tank!! Please help us get our cars fixed for something that Chrysler messed up on they should be responsible for the repairs!!
A WARNING INDICATER WILL SOUND SOMETIMES WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE SEATBELT WHEN HAS BEEN LOCKES INTO PLACE (FASTENED). I HAVE TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE SEATBELT TO SHUTDOWN THE INDICATER. ALSO THE PASSANGER SEATBELT WILL NOT RELEASE ONCE LOCKED, HOWEVER IT TAKES SEVERAL MINUETS TO GET IT TO RELEASE.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND THERE'S NOTHING GOING ON WITH MY CAR IGNITION MESSED UP MY ALTERNATOR BATTERY AND STARTER. THERE'S A FAILURE IN IGNITION THAT IS MESSING UP A LOT OF THINGS IN THE CAR. THE IGNITION HAD ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD SUCH AS SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN I USE MY FOUR-WHEEL-DRIVE A LOT OF COMPLICATIONS STARTED HAPPENING WITH MY LYCIAN ALTERNATOR STARTER AND BATTERY
AFTER FILLING UP THE GAS TANK THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING CAUSING IT TO LOSE BRAKING AND POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE ALSO SHUTS OFF WHILE AT A STAND STILL. THIS ONLY HAPPENS AFTER FILLING UP THE GAS TANK AND SEEMED TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY FUEL TANK ROLLOVER VALVE THAT IS BUILT INTO THE GAS TANK SO IT CANT BE CHANGED. THE WHOLE FUEL TANK HAS TO BE CHANGED AND THE FUEL TANK IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE ANYWHERE. I'M FORCED TO DRIVE A TICKING TIME BOMB BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE A RECALL.
THE STEERING JERKS AND CAR SHIFTS WHEN I HIT A POT HOLE OF BUMP IN THE ROAD ON MY 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN AND IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED US TO LOSS CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE A FEW TIMES, YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN OR I WOULD DODGE THE HOLE. VERY SCARY WHEN IT DOES HAPPEN. WE HAVE HAD THE FRONT END CHECKED AND THEN TELL US THERE'S NO PROBLEM. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN UNLESS YOUR DRIVING OVER 40 MPH AND WHEN YOUR DRIVING 65 ON THE HIGHWAY, IT'S GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED ONE DAY. THERE'S NOT A SPECIFIC DAY, SINCE IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME YOU DRIVE IT AND HIT A HOLE OR BUMP IN THE ROAD. WE HAVE OWNED IT SINCE IT WAS NEW AND ALWAYS HAD THE PROBLEM. WE ARE ALSO HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING, WE HAVE INSTALLED 3 COMPRESSES, DRYERS IT WILL NOT COOL THIS LAST TIME IT WAS IN THE SHOP 8 DAYS. THEY MUST HAVE INSTALLED AND REMOVED EVERY PART THAT WOULD CAUSE IT NOT TO COOL, STILL BLOWS HOT AIR AND IT'S ALREADY 95+ DEGREES OUTSIDE. MY ELDERLY MOTHER DRIVES THIS ASPEN AND IT USE TO BE A GREAT CAR, BUT ONCE THEY BREAK YOU MIGHT AS WELL BUY SOMETHING NEW. IT'S NO WONDER THEY ONLY MAKE THE ASPEN 3 YEARS. WORST AND MOST DANGEROUS VEHICLE EVER.
SUSPENSION: EVERY TIME YOU HIT A BUMP OR POT HOLE THE VEHICLE THROWS YOU ACROSS THE LANE. FUEL TANK: EVERY TIME YOU FILL THE GAS TANK UP AND WHEN THE PUMP CLICKS OFF THE GAS SPITS OUT OF THE TANK AND LANDS ALL OVER YOU AND THE VEHICLE. ELECTRICAL: THE DASHBOARD WILL LIGHT UP WITH THE OIL SYMBOL FLASHING ON AND OFF. AIR CONDITIONING: THE COMPRESSOR BLOWS HOT AIR AND NOW THE ENGINE SPEEDS UP LIKE IT'S GOING TO EXPLODE.
WHEN PUTTING GAS IN AFTER REMOVING THE PUMP GAS COMES SPRAYING OUT ALL OVER WHOEVER IS FILLING UP THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF MY VEHICLE AND ON THE GROUND THIS IS A SAFELY ISSUE FOR EVERYONE IN THE CAR THE VEHICLE ITSELF AND HOWEVER IS FILLING THE CAR UP AS WELL AS THE GAS STATION THAT YOU ARE FILLING UP AT. IT HAPPENED TODAY AND 1 TIME BEFORE THAT I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE LESS THEN A MONTH BUT SEE ITS A COMMON ISSUE AND SPOKEN ABOUT ALOT ONLINE. *TR
MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONED AT A GAS STATION PUMP AS I WAS PUMPING FUEL AND I WANTED TO FILL UP THE TANK, AND SO I DID. BUT, RIGHT BEFORE THE PUMP STOPPED, THE GAS SPIT AND SPILLED OUT OF THE TANK, RAN DOWN THE SIDE OF MY VEHICLE AND ON TO THE FLOOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY OR BEING DRIVEN AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY SWITCHED TO 4 WHEEL DRIVE. THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE RED LIGHT FLASHED DURING THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.
THE FRONT VALVE LIFTERS AND TIME. THE REAR VALVE LIFTERS AND TIME ARE DEFECTIVE THE CAR DRIVES ROUGH AND MISFIRES FURTHER I CAN'T GET THE PARTS FROM CHRYSLER TO REPAIR THE TRUCK.
EVERY TIME WE FILL THE GAS TANK ... THE VEHICLE WILL STUTTER / SHAKE WHEN AT IDLE OR DIE COMPLETELY AT IDLE LIKE AT A STOP SIGN OR DRIVE THROUGH WINDOW. IT WILL RESTART AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS. AFTER IT HAS BEEN DRIVEN ABOUT 25-40 MILES IT STOPS HAPPENING. WE HAVE PAID FOR TOTAL VEHICLE INSPECTIONS, WE HAVE ALSO PAID $1300 TO HAVE EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM A CERTIFIED CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP CAN FIND FIXED. THIS DID NOT HELP THE PROBLEM AT ALL AND THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SUV. THIS IS THE CAR OUR SON DRIVES AND WE ARE VERY CONCERNED. WE ARE NOT IN A FINANCIAL POSITION TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE AND HAVE NOW EMPTIED OUR SAVINGS TO HAVE THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SERVICED, INSPECTED AND REPAIRED.
IN THE LAST YEAR I NOTICED THE CAR IS GETTING MORE BOUNCY. WHEN DRIVING ON THE CITY STREETS, IF I HIT A POCK HOLE OR BUMP IT SHIFTS THE CAR OVER AND IT IS WORSE ON THE FREEWAY. GOING OVER THE BUMPS BOUNCES THE CAR UP AND OVER!! THIS IS NOT SAFE ESPECIALLY ON THE FREEWAY OR ANY ROAD, WHICH COULD CAUSE THE CAR TO SHIFT INTO THE NEXT LANE. MY SON IN-LAW EVEN NOTICED THIS WHEN HE DROVE IT!! THE SUSPENSION FEELS TOO LOOSE!! WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS? THIS IS NOT SAFE!! THERE IS NOTHING IN THE CAR MANUAL!!!
FAILING LIFTERS AND CAMSHAFT WHICH IS HAPPENING TO OVER 5000 SEPARATE OWNERS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES. THE LIFTERS AND CAMSHAFT FAIL NO MATTER HOW WELL YOU KEEP UP YOUR MAINTENANCE. I HAD THE CAM AND LIFTERS REPLACED TWICE ONCE AT 98000 MILES BY CHRYSLER AND NOW I NEED THEM REPLACED AGAIN AT 195000 MILES WHICH VERY COMMON WITH OWNERS OF THIS ENGINE
THE DRIVER'S SEATBELTS BUCKLE WILL GET STUCK WHEN TRYING TO UNBUCKLE YOUR SEAT BELT IT WILL NOT RELEASE. WHEN PUMPING GAS AT ANY GAS STATION WHEN THE GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF AND THEN IT WILL SPRAY GAS OUT OF THE FILL HOLE ALL OVER THE VEHICLE AND ONTO THE GROUND NO MATTER IF YOU'RE PUMPING FUEL SLOW OR FAST
POWER STEERING LINES TOUCH THE DRIVE TRAIN. I LOST STEERING CONTROL WHILE DRIVING 70 MILES AN HOUR. THE HIGH SIDE PRESSURE LINE BLEW OUT.

MY FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGES. DEALER WANTS ME TO SPEND MONEY ON PARTS AND ARE ONLY GUESSING THAT THOSE PARTS WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. NOT ONCE HAVE THEY CHECKED THE WIRING. THE ENGAGEMENT HAPPENS WHEN STATIONARY (UNLOCKING THE CAR). SOMETIMES WHEN I TURN AT VERY LOW SPEEDS. THE LIGHTS COME ONE WHEN DRIVING HIGH SPEED BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. THE FOLLOWING LIGHTS TURN ON: 4WHEEL SERVICE, ELECTRONIC STABILITY. I FEEL IT IS A WIRING PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DARCARS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF NEW CARROLLTON (8100 ANNAPOLIS RD, NEW CARROLLTON, MD 20784 (301) 459-6800) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRES WERE BURNED TO THE CONTROL MODULE AND CLOCK SPRINGS. THE CLOCK SPRING AND CONTROL MODULE NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT WOULD NOT ASSIST DUE TO THE AGE AND MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,148.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES TO FILL UP HER FUEL TANK DUE TO AN INCONSISTENT FLOW OF FUEL. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO PLACE FUEL IN HER VEHICLE AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT STATIONS AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE EACH TIME. CENTURY DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (13500 VETERANS MEMORIAL PKWY IN WENTZVILLE, MO 63385) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURE WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
WHEN THE ALTERNATOR STARTED TO FAIL THE DRIVER'S DASHBOARD SUCH AS THE SPEEDOMETER AND ANY OTHER INSTRUMENTS MALFUNCTIONS. WHILE DRIVING THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD REED 0 MILES PER HOURS EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. I HAVE RECORDED THE ISSUE IN A VIDEO FORMAT.
IT'S A TRACKER ON MY TRUCK AND THE DEALERSHIP ISN'T USING IT PROPERLY. IF MY CAR PAYMENT IS LATE THEN YES, I KNOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO SHUT DOWN, BUT IF I'M MAKING A PAYMENT ON TIME THEN WHY IT KEEPS SHUTTING OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. BEEN LATE FOR WORK, SCHOOL, AND PICKING UP MY 5 YEAR OLD FROM SCHOOL. BY THE WAY SHE IS GOING TO BE STRANDED AS WE SPEAK. MADE MY PAYMENT ON 9/18/17 NOW IT'S OFF TODAY. MADE MY PAYMENT LAST WEDNESDAY, AND I HAD TO CALL THEM THURSDAY BECAUSE IT WAS OFF. LAST WEEK THEY TURNED IT BACK ON AFTER I TOLD THEM I'M MAKING A COMPLAINT WITH THEM, NOW THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS TODAY. IT'S THE SAME THING FROM LAST WEEK. THE GUY TURNED IT ON LAST WEEK BUT HE SEEMS TO NOT KNOW THE PROBLEM THIS WEEK. I CAN'T KEEP AFFORDING TO MISS OUT ON SCHOOL AND WORK, AND FOR SURLY CAN'T KEEP MY DAUGHTER FROM GETTING TO AND FROM SCHOOL. I ASKED HIM TO TURN IT ON TODAY AND HE SAYS IT'S NOT THEM EVERYTHING IS BRAND NEW IN MY TRANSMISSION/MOTOR AND MY BATTERY WORKS JUST LIKE LAST TIME. THIS IS THE FOURTH INCIDENT THIS MONTH. HE ALSO TOLD ME HE CAN SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, BUT I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE TOW. I AM A LOYAL CUSTOMER THAT GOT A CAR FROM THEM LAST YEAR. ON MAY 1ST 2017 I WAS ON THE MARKET FOR A DEPENDABLE VEHICLE FOR MY CHILDREN AND I. MY BOYFRIEND SUGGESTED AUTO DEALS LLC. ON 12838 SAN PEDRO IN SAN ANTONIO, WHERE HIS COUSIN RICHARD MCKINNEY IS A SALESMAN. MY BOYFRIEND AND I ARRIVED AT 1:30 PM AND STAYED TILL 6PM THAT SAME DAY FILLING OUT PAPERWORK AND LOOKING AT VEHICLES. RICHARD'S COWORKER DOUG ASSISTED US ON THIS FIRST DAY. WE DECIDED TO GO HOME AND SLEEP ON IT AND SEE THE NEW SHIPMENT THE NEXT DAY AS I WAS UNSATISFIED WITH THE CURRENT OPTIONS. AS WE DECIDED TO LEAVE THE SUPERVISOR ALEX SINNO SAID "COME BACK TOMORROW AND I WILL GIVE YOU A YEAR WARRANTY". WHEN WE RETURNED THE NEXT MORNING WITH THE $700 WE WERE TOLD WE NEEDED TO DRIVE OFF THE LOT, WE WERE THEN TOLD THAT THE BOSS WAS ASKING FOR $1000 DOWN PLUS INSURANCE THAT THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF IN HOUSE ON AN IOU THAT WE WERE TO PAYBACK THAT FRIDAY. FEELING UNEASY BUT STILL DESPERATE WE SCRAPED TOGETHER THE EXTRA $300 PLUS INDEBTED OURSELVES FOR THE IN HOUSE INSURANCE. SHORTLY AFTER WE DROVE OFF THE LOT ON THE WAY HOME ON MAY 2ND 2017 THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON AND I NOTICE THAT IT IS OUT OF GAS AS WELL. AFTER FUELING UP, I DRIVE OVER TO OUR FAMILY MECHANIC. HE INFORMS ME OF A MULTITUDE OF ISSUES INCLUDING THE RADIATOR BEING BONE DRY, AND GASKETS NEEDING REPLACEMENTS. I ALSO NOTICE I CANNOT LOCK MY DOORS AND SEE THAT THERE ARE OVER 20 FUSES MISSING. WE MANAGE TO MAKE IT HOME BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP IS CLOSED AT THIS POINT SO WE CALL IN THE MORNING. FOR A WHOLE WEEK WE CALL REPEATEDLY DAILY BUT NEVER MAKE IT PAST THE RECEPTIONIST AND NEVER RECEIVE A CALL BACK. DURING THE WEEK I TAKE IT TO A NEARBY ADVANCE AUTO AND AUTO ZONE, WHERE THE VEHICLE IS PUT ON THE COMPUTER. I ENDED UP BUYING COOLANT AND AN IGNITION COIL, AS WELL AS RECEIVED COPIES OF RECEIPTS AND DIAGNOSTICS ON THEIR MACHINES.ON MAY 5TH WE ALSO PAYED BACK THE I.
THERE IS A RECALL ON THE RIGHT STEERING KNUCKLE ON MY TYPE OF VEHICLE, INCLUDING SAME YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL. I DID NOT EVER GET A RECALL NOTICE, BUT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHERE THE RIGHT STEERING KNUCKLE BROKE AND CAUSED SIGNIFICANT OTHER DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, SO I WAS FORCED TO FILE A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE TO HAVE IT FIXED. I HAD TO PAY A LARGE DEDUCTIBLE AND WAS FAULTED FOR THE ACCIDENT. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET REIMBURSED FOR THIS SINCE THERE IS A RECALL ON THAT PART OF THE VEHICLE?
EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY GAS TANK THE VEHICLE SPITS A BUNCH OF GAS OUR ONTO THE GROUND AND ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING THIS UP AND HAVE FOUND THAT ITS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2007 ASPENS. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD OF THE PROBLEM THEY STATED THATS ITS NOT A RECALL ITEM AND I HAVE TO FIX THIS KNOWN ISSUE OUT OF MY OWN POCKET
GAS 'SPITS OUT' WHEN FILLING. VERY DANGEROUS, GAS WILL SHOOT OUT OVER A FOOT. TOOK IT TO CHRYSLER DEALER FOR RECALL 'TSB 14-001-12', DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. RETURNED THE CAR 3 DAYS LATER AND CHARGED $100.00. WAS TOLD I NEED A NEW GAS TANK AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT!!! WHY DOESN'T THIS RECALL PAY FOR IT??? IT'S DIFFENTLY A SAFEY PROBLEM???
TSB 14-001-12 FUEL SPLASH BACK. HAD MY CAR AND THEY DID THE REPAIRS. BUT, ITS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM!!! WAS TOLD I NEED A NEW GAS TANK. IT WILL COST ME, $1,500. CALLED CHRYSLER CORP. TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHEELS RANDOMLY LOCKED AND THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR RANDOMLY FLASHED. AS A RESULT, THE POWER STEERING WAS EXTREMELY AFFECTED AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AS THE FRONT AND REAR WHEELS LOCKED UP. IN ADDITION, THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE INDICATOR RANDOMLY FLASHED AND THE GEARS INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS ALSO INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V352000 (AIR BAGS). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

I WAS DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER, I STARTED TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING I ROLLED THE WINDOWS DOWN TO CHECK IF IT WAS MY TRUCK, SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE BACK SEAT. I PULLED OVER AND OPENED THE BACK DOOR AND SAW MY BACK SEAT BURNING. HAD TO PUT WATER AND LEAVE THE WINDOWS DOWN FOR A COUPLE DAYS, IT'S SO HORRIBLE TO THINK THAT MY SON USUALLY SITS THERE AND COULD OF GOTTEN BURNED. THIS COMPLAINT INVOLVES THE FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM OF THE 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN 4X4. WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ANY BUMPS ENCOUNTERED ON THE ROAD SURFACE WILL RESULT IN A SUDDEN SHIFT OF DIRECTION, OR "JUMPING" OF THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THIS CAN POSSIBLY SEND THE DRIVER INTO ANOTHER LANE OF TRAFFIC. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN MANY TIMES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS OF OWNERSHIP OF THE VEHICLE. AS AN OWNER OF SEVERAL OTHER FCA VEHICLES (INCLUDING, JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND A JEEP COMMANDER) I FIND THIS VERY DISTURBING THAT NHTSA HAS NOT INVESTIGATED THIS PROBLEM AS IT HAS BEEN REPORTED ON SEVERAL OF THE CHRYSLER FORUMS. NO VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE THE FRONT END "JUMP" AND HAVE THE DRIVER SUDDENLY GOING IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION THAN INTENDED, THIS IS A DEADLY SAFETY CONCERN. "TAKATA RECALL" NEEDS A REMEDY TO BE FIXED 6+ MONTHS UNACCEPTABLE
THE DEALER CONTINUES TO SEND SAFETY REPAIR NOTICES BUT HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO OBTAIN THE PARTS TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AT LEAST 4 TIMES AND THERE STILL SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE ON GETTING REPLACEMENT PARTS.
TAKATA RECALL PASSENGER AIRBAG.. THIS RECALL NOTICE WAS PUBLISHED IN JULY 2016, IT HAS NOT BEEN COMPLIED WITH AND NO SOLUTION IS FORTHCOMING IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE PURCHASED BY CHRYSLER SO MY FAMILY IS NOT SUBJECT TO INJURY OR DEATH IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. CHRYSLER WAS REQUIRED TO DO SO ON CERTAIN PRODUCTION RUNS OF THIS SAME VEHICLE BECAUSE OF FAULTY SUSPENSION PARTS. MY VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME SUSPENSION PROBLEM BUT, FOR SOME REASON, WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE REPURCHASE.
EVERY TIME I PUT GAS IN TO MY TANK (NOT TOPPING OFF) FUEL GUSHES BACK OUT OF THE FUEL TANK AND ON TO THE GROUND AFTER THE GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF WHEN THE TANK GETS FILLED MORE THAN 3/4 FULL. IT HAS HAPPENED AT NUMEROUS DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND HAS HAPPENED WHEN I AM HOLDING THE HANDLE TO THE GAS PUMP AND WHEN THE PUMPS AUTO SHUT-OFF FEATURE IS USED. EACH TIME THAT IT HAS HAPPENED A LARGE AMOUNT OF GAS HAS BEEN SPILLED ON THE GROUND, ON THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, ON MY SHOES. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS THE GAS STATION ATTENDANT HAS HAD TO BLOCK OFF THE GAS PUMP AND COME OVER AND CLEAN UP THE SPILL. EACH TIME IT HAS HAPPENED THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN STATIONARY AND NOT RUNNING.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF THE RECALL FOR THE DRIVER AIRBAG INFLATOR ON JULY 1, 2016 AND BOTH THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAVE FAILED TO REPLACE THE PART IN QUESTION IN A TIMELY MANNER GIVEN THE SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE ASSOCIATED WITH THE AIRBAG. I HAVE NOT HAD A DEPLOYMENT IN THE VEHICLE AND DO NOT ANTICIPATE A DEPLOYMENT, HOWEVER, I WILL BE SELLING THE CAR IN THE NEAR TERM AND NEED TO HAVE THIS ISSUE RESOLVED.

MY VEHICLE GOT STUCK IN GEAR AND COULDNT SHIFT IT BACK INTO PARK .HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK TO TOW IT CAUSE I TURNED IT OFF WITH THE KEY AND IT STILL WOULD SHIFT INTO PARK.I HAD TO WAIT TILL MONDAY THE 27 OF JUNE TO CALLTHE MECHANIC AND HE TOWED IT TO HIS SHOP.HE CALLED ME TODAY AND SAID IT WAS THE GEAR SHIFT AND TRANSMISSION THAT WERE NO GOOD OR MESSED UP.THIS HAPPEND ON SATURDAY JUNE 25 AND I WAS PULLING OUT OF SOME OFFICES THAT I CLEAN IN ROUND ROCK TEXAS 1970 RAWHIDE.THE FIREFIGHTERS ACRSS THE STREET HAD TO HELP MY HUSBAND PUSH IT TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET BECAUSE WE WERE ON A SLOP AND MY CAR HAD ROLED BACK AND ALMOST HIT SOME MAIL BOXES.
CHRYSLER 2007 ASPEN WITH HEMI ENGINE. WATER INTRUSION CAUSING THE AIRBAGS TO GET WET. DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE, WATER DOES NOT DRAIN PROPERLY AND IS SOAKING THE SIDE AIRBAG PANEL AND ALSO THE ELECTRICAL PANEL IN THE TRUCK CAUSING THE CONTROL WARNING PANEL TO COMPLETELY LIGHT UP. THIS IS CAUSING THE SIDE AIRBAGS TO BE COMPROMISED AND POSSIBLY THE PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAG. THE DRAINAGE PROBLEM WAS BROUGHT TO CHRYSLER'S ATTENTION NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY DID NOT FIND A CORRECTIVE SOLUTION.
