WE BOUGHT THE CHRYSLER ASPEN WITH THE HEMI ENGINE NEW IN 2007. THE FOLLOWING YEAR THE PROBLEM BEGAN TO REAR ITS UGLY HEAD. CONSTANT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS DUE TO WATER INTRUSION FROM THE SUN ROOF DUE TO POOR DRAINAGE. TRUCK WAS SERVICED NUMEROUS TIMES BY CHRYSLER WITH NO POSITIVE RESULTS. TRUCK IS HAZARDOUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE ALL DASH BOARD LIGHTS WILL GO ON WHEN IT'S RAINING OR AFTER ITS RAINED WHICH CAUSES A DISTRACTION WHILE DRIVING. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH, CITY STREETS AND ALSO WHILE THE TRUCK IS STATIONARY. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED NUMEROUS TIMES AND CHRYSLER HAS MADE NO EFFECTIVE ENGINEERING REMEDY. THEY EVEN BLAME THE ENVIRONMENT I.E.TREES FOR CAUSING THE PROBLEM AS REFUSAL TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. WE PURCHASED THE TRUCK WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY AND THE TRUCK WAS SERVICED IN AN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THE SYSTEMIC PROBLEM. IT IS CHRYSLER'S POSITION THAT THE ENVIRONMENT IS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM NOT THE ENGINEERING OF THE TRUCK. THEIR ARE MILLIONS OF CARS AND TRUCKS WITH SUNROOFS THAT ARE LEFT OUTSIDE THAT DON;T HAVE LEAKS OR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS BECAUSE OF POOR DRAINAGE. WE HAVE 32 PAGES OF INVOICES FROM THE CHRYSLER SERVICE DEPT, THE VAST MAJORITY ARE ELECTRONIC PROBLEMS. WHEN WE CALLED CHRYSLER CORP. AND FINALLY SPOKE TO SOMEONE TODAY 6/24/16, WE WERE TOLD ITS THE ENVIRONMENT WE CAN'T SPEAK TO ANYONE HIGHER THEN HER, CASE CLOSED, LIFE TIME WARRANTY VOIDED FOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES.
IN JUNE 2016 I BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE SHUTS OFF AT A STOP SIGN STOP LIGHT SEEMS LIKE THE RPMS GOES DOWN AND THE CAR SHUT OFF WITH NO ADVANCE WARNING I HAVE TO START THE CAR TWO OR THREE TIMES IN ORDER FOR TO GET IT TO RESTART TOOK IT TO THE DEALER $100 SERVICE FEE AND THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT I'VE HAD THE SPARK PLUGS CHANGED THE SPARK PLUG WIRES CHANGE THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY CHANGE AND ACTUALLY I'M KIND OF GETTING AFRAID TO DRIVE IN THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'S GOING TO SHUT OFF AND I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO RUN IN THE BACK OF ME. *TR
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A "SAFETY RECALL NOTICE" FOR THIS VEHICLE. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO ABERDEEN AUTO CENTER IN ABERDEEN, SD, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLACE IT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY REGISTERED IN CANADA. WHAT DO I DO?

WHEN USING THE LEFT BLINKER THE RIGHT BLINKER WILL INTERMITTENTLY START BLINKING. I AM CONCERNED THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. IT WILL HAPPEN WHILE IN MOTION AND SOMETIMES WHEN STOPPED.

EXHIBITING TYPICAL PROBLEMS RELATED TO TIPM FAILURE. HAS NEVER STALLED ON ME WHILE IN MOTION, BUT WILL DISPLAY "NO BUS" & GAGE NEEDLES SHOOT UP & DOWN. CAR WON'T START.
TAKATA RECALL. 4 MONTHS AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR A "PART ORDER" FROM THE KING AUTO CHRYSLER DEALER IN LIHUE KAUAI, HI TO REPAIR THE DRIVER AIRBAG INFLATOR. FRANKLY WHEN I CALLED TO REMIND THEM THAT I WAS STILL WAITING, IT SEEMED LIKE THEY HAD DROPPED THE BALL ON THEIR PART AND SAID MAYBE NEXT MONTH.
SUMMARY: FUEL GUSHED OUT OF THE TANK AND SPRAYED OVER THE SUV AND MYSELF AT THE GAS STATION WHEN I WAS REFUELING MY VEHICLE. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL THAT HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED BY THE MANUFACTURER.THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE GAS STATION AND I WAS STANDING NEXT TO IT. THIS HAS HAPPED EVERY TIME I FILL UP FOR THE LAST YEAR.
TWO WEEKS AGO, WE HAD THE AIR BAG REPAIRED AT THE DEALER DUE TO A RECALL. TODAY, I TRIED TO TURN ON MY CAR, IT WOULD NOT TURN ON AND ALL INSIDE LIGHTS ARE FLASHING. I TOWED IT TO THE SAME DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE ELECTRIC MODULES COULD BE THE PROBLEM, THEY SUGGESTED TO CHANGE THE FRONT CONTROL PANEL AND CHARGE ME $1,600. IF PROBLEM PERSIST, THEY MIGHT NEED TO CHECK OTHER MODULES, I.E. $4,000-6,000 CHARGE. BEFORE CHANGING THE AIR BAG RECALL, I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. CAN YOU HELP PLEASE.
FUEL OVER FILLS OUT OF THE FILLER WHEN FILLING UP VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT GAS PUMP TURNED OFF AND OVERFILLS EVERYTIME FILLED UP

THIS RECALL HAS BEEN OUTSTANDING FOR A LONG TIME. I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM CHRYSLER THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN THE PARTS WERE IN BUT I HAVE NOT BEE CALLED AND WHEN I TALKED WITH THE DEALER YESTERDAY, THEY HAVE NO IDEA THEY MIGHT HAVE THE PARTS. I WAITED FOR 18 MONTHS TO GET A SWITCH THAT WAS RECALLED BUT THIS IS MORE SERIOUS

WAS REFUELING CAR AT GAS STATION AND AFTER ABOUT A GALLON OR TWO THE GAS STARTED SPURTING BACK AT ME.THE TANK WASN'T FULL, THE PUMP DID NOT STOP. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE FEB 2014. PURCHASED CAR USED FROM DEALER. WHEN I CALLED SERVICE CENTER , GENTLEMAN SAID THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE READ MANY POSTS WHERE THE VERY SAME THING HAPPENS ON THIS SAME MAKE/ MODEL.
THE CLOCK SPRING IS BROKEN. CHRYSLER DOESN'T HAVE THE PART AND CLAIM IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. I THINK ANYTHING INVOLVING THE INFLATION OF THE AIRBAG IS A SAFETY ISSUE.

VEHICLE RANDOMLY SHIFTS FROM AWD TO 4 LOCK OR 4 LOW. USUALLY AT LOW SPEEDS. TRANSFER CASE MAY ALSO SHIFT TO NEUTRAL. WHEN BACKING OR TURNING SHARPLY, AS IN PARKING, IS THE MOST LIKELY TIME OF OCCURRENCE. TRANSFER CASE ALSO SHIFTS WHEN USING THE KEY FOB TO LOCK/UNLOCK DOORS WHILE VEHICLE IS OFF AND PARKED. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT AFTER BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND WAS UNABLE TO GET TO TRAFFIC SPEED DUE TO RANDOM SHIFT TO LOW RANGE. VEHICLE HAS ALSO SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL AFTER PARKING, CAUSING IT TO ROLL ON SLIGHTLY INCLINED DRIVEWAY, NEARLY DRAGGING ME AND/OR STRIKING MY CHILDREN WHO WERE IN THE DRIVEWAY.
DASH IS STILL ILLUMINATED, RADIO TURNS ON BY ITSELF AND CAN'T LOCK DOORS WITH THE CAR TURN TO OFF POSITION AND KEY OUT OF IGNITION. CAR DOOR CONTINUES DINGING NOISE AS IF KEY IS IN POSITION. DRAINS THE BATTERY. WHEN YOU GIVE THE BATTERY A CHARGE THE CAR WILL CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE BATTERY IS TOO WEAK. WE REPLACED THE BATTERY 3 TIMES IN ONE YEAR. CHRYSLER DEALER CANNOT FIND THE ISSUE. THEY STATE THE ASPEN IS KNOWN TO HAVE DRAIN BATTERIES QUICKLY. YOU CAN DRIVE OVER A SMALL BUMP OR POT HOLE AND CAR WILL JUMP ACROSS THE ROAD. PLACED BRAND NEW TIRES AND CAR IS ALIGNED PERFECTLY BUT STILL MAKES THE CAR JUMP. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE CAR WILL MOVE TO ANOTHER PERSON'S DRIVING LANE ON DUAL HIGHWAY WHEN HITTING A BUMP. THIS IS NOT SAFE FOR ANYONE AND SCARES MY FAMILY. ONE DAY, IF WE HIT A BUMP, I MIGHT SIDE SWIPE/CRASH INTO A PASSING CAR OR ROLLOVER OFF THE ROAD.

STILL WAITING ON THE LETTER FROM CHRYSLER ABOUT THE RECALL... CALLED THE DEALER TODAY AND THEY WILL NOT GIVE ME A LOANER CAR AND THEY WANT TO KEEP MY CAR ALL DAY. THE DRIVER AIRBAG INFLATOR HOUSING MAY RUPTURE, DUE TO EXCESSIVE INTERNAL PRESSURE, DURING NORMAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT EVENTS. THIS CONDITION IS MORE LIKELY TO OCCUR IF THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO HIGH LEVELS OF ABSOLUTE HUMIDITY FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME. AN INFLATOR RUPTURE, DURING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT EVENTS, COULD RESULT IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING AND POTENTIALLY SERIOUSLY INJURING THE VEHICLE OCCUPANT(S).
I HAVE CALLED MY LOCAL DODGE / CHRYSLER DEALER FOR OVER A YEAR NOW TO GET THIS RECALL FIXED AND THEY TELL ME THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS TO FIX THIS AND IM ON A WAIT LIST AND HAVE BEEN FOR OVER A YEAR.
A " SNAPPING " OR " POPPING " NOISE DEVELOPED IN THE FRONT SUSPENSION WHEN GOING AROUND A CORNER AT ~ 30 MPH. IT WAS MORE PRONOUNCED WHEN GOING OVER SMALL TO MODERATE BUMPS. BOTH THE CHRYSLER DEALER AND AN INDEPENDENT GARAGE SAID IT NEEDED NEW UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS. I HAD THEM REPLACED AND THE NOISE IS STILL THERE. NO ONE CAN FIND THE SOURCE OF THIS NOISE. I AM CONCERNED THERE IS A MAJOR DEFECT AND IT WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE OR CONTRIBUTE TO AN ACCIDENT. THE 2009 CHRYSLER ASPEN WAS RECENTLY PUT ON A BUYBACK LIST FOR SUSPENSION TROUBLES. BOTH THE 2007 AND 2008 ASPENS ARE THE SAME AS THE 2009. I AM CURIOUS AS TO WHY THE 2008 AND 2007 WEREN'T INCLUDED ON THIS LIST.
I JUST KEEP HAVING TO REPLACE THE TURNING SIGNAL MODULE. THE TURN SIGNAL HESITATES AT TIMES AND THEN THE OPPOSITE SIGNAL WILL COME ON OR NO SIGNAL AT ALL. SO FAR THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENT BUT CLEARLY THERE'S A DEFECT IN THE SYSTEM FOR THIS TO KEEP HAPPENING. I'M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE EMERGENCY SIGNALS ALSO, THEY MAY OR MAY NOT COME ON. WHILE PUMPING GAS INTO THE VEHICLE, IT NEVER CUT OFF AND SPRAYED GASOLINE ALL OVER THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS MYSELF. IT STARTED FEB 2015 AND HAS HAPPENED EVERY TIME I HAVE PUMPED GAS INTO THE VEHICLE SINCE THEN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN 4X2. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
TAKATA RECALL - JUST RECEIVED RECALL - 3-2016. WAS IN ACCIDENT 02-2015 INVOLVING HEAD-ON COLLISION - AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY - VEHICLE WAS IMPOUNDED - PD AS WELL AS IMPOUND LOT PERSONNEL AND AUTOBODY SHOP ADJACENT ALL QUESTIONED WHY AIRBAGS HAD NOT DEPLOYED. VEHICLE HAD TO BE INSPECTED PRIOR TO MY BEING ABLE TO REMOVE IT FROM POUND FOR SAFETY CONCERNS. WAS ADVISED TO HAVE DEALER CHECK AIRBAGS AND WHY NO DEPLOY. THIS WAS DONE AND DEALER ADVISED ONLY SENSORS ARE WORKING. NO FURTHER EXPLANATION. I HAVE CONTINUED TO DRIVE VEHICLE. THEN RECEIVED THIS RECALL NOTICE R25 / NHTSA 15V-313 AND STARTED DO SOME RESEARCH. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED MONTHS AGO ON THIS RECALL AND DOES THIS DEFECT HAVE ANY EFFECT OF BAGS NOT DEPLOYING WHEN THEY SHOULD? AT TIME OF COLLISION I WAS TRAVELING ON CITY STREET AND WAS REAR-ENDED, SIDE-SWIPED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH EVENTUAL HEAD-ON COLLISION - WINTER STORM CONDITIONS / THE VEHICLE THAT STRUCK ME AFTER FIRST IMPACT SLID UPHILL COMING DOWN AND HITTING SIDE OF CAR SEVERAL TIMES IN A BOUNCE OFF MANNER BEFORE HEAD-ON COLLISION (HEAD-ON HAPPENED -BEFORE I EVEN REALIZED I HAD BEEN STRUCK IN REAR OR SIDE)- STATE FARM CLAIM 065V22149 - NO ONE LISTENED TO MY CONCERNS AND THOSE EXPRESSED BY PD OFFICERS AND LOT EMPLOYEES (WHO ARE DAILY EXPOSED TO THIS) ABOUT WHY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ALSO VERY DELINQUENT IN NOTIFICATION OF RECALL.
FUEL GUSHED OUT OF THE TANK AND SPRAYED OVER THE SUV AND MYSELF AT THE GAS STATION WHEN I WAS REFUELING MY VEHICLE. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL THAT HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. *TR
ASPEN HAS ONLY 16000 MILES AND HAS A HORRIBLE PROBLEM OF BURPING FUEL OUT OF THE TANK WHEN FILLING UP AT WHAT EVER PRESSURE ONE HOLDS THE NOZZLE. EVERY TIME TANK IS FILLED IT DUMPS OUT 1 TO 2 GALLONS OF FULL ON MYSELF AND THE BODY OF THE CAR AS WELL AS ON THE GROUND. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO CHRYSLER ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUE YET A TSB HAS BEEN ISSUED BY CHRYSLER THEM SELVES ACKNOWLEDGING THE PROBLEM AND THE SOLUTION FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. TSB 14-001-12 CLASSIFYING IT AS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BULLETIN. ACKNOWLEDGING THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BEING A STUCK FLAPPER IN THE GAS TANK. CHRYSLER IS NOT WANTING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM IN MY VEHICLE SAYING THAT THEY DON'T HAVE A SPECIFIC RECALL NOTED AND THAT THE TSB BULLETIN IS FOR THERE OWN TECHS AND NOT FOR CUSTOMER AWARENESS. EVERY TIME I OR MY WIFE FILL THE TANK IN THE ASPEN WHILE TRAVELING OR LOCALLY I GET AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF FUEL BACK SPRAYED AND SPEWED ON ME AND MY CLOTHS REQUIRING ME TO STAY AWAY FROM ANY SPARKS, FIRE OR IGNITIONS OF ANY SORT TILL I REMOVE MY CLOTHING AND THEN SHOWER OFF THE GASOLINE. I COULD REALLY USE HELP IN GETTING THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE RESOLVE FOR AND MY WIFE. I HAVE ON HAND LETTERS TO CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CLEARLY STATING THAT THE FUEL INLET CHECK VALVE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO INCLUDE EXTENDED LIFETIME WARRANTY IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A COPY OF.
WHEN I WAS FILLING MY GAS TANK GAS STARTED TO DUMP ALL OVER THE GROUND. THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE TANK! *TR
AIRBAG LIGHT CONTINUALLY APPEARED AND BEEPED. TOOK THE ASPEN TO THE DEALER, OLIVER JOSEPH TWICE. THE FIRST TIME WAS 1/22/15. THE SERVICE CENTER TOLD MYSELF AND MY WIFE THEY COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS, AND COULD NOT REPAIR. I THEN CALLED CHRYSLER CORP CUSTOMER SERVICE ON 2/03/15, AND THEY TOOK NOTE OF THE SITUATION. I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM CHRYSLER AND CALLED BACK ON 3/26/15 AND THEY NOTIFIED ME OF THE AIRBAG RECALL, AND SINCE MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS CONTINUALLY ON AND BEEPING, THEY WILL MAKE SURE I HAVE PRIORITY WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. I AM WRITING THIS COMPLAINT ON 7/31/15 AND HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM ANYONE. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR MY WIFE'S SAFETY WITH THE RECALL AND THE FACT THIS LIGHT IS EMITTED FROM UNKNOWN ORIGIN. CHRYSLER HAS RECORD OF ALL MY CALLS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN INJURY ON THE RIGHT KNEE THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
