REAR GLASS WINDOW IS PEELING AWAY FROM CONVERTIBLE TOP. *TR
THE REAR ADHESIVE ON MY 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTERS REAR WINDOW, THAT HOLDS IT TO THE SOFT TOP CONVERTIBLE, HAS BEGUN TO DETACH. I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THEY EXPLAINED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY AND THEY WILL NOT ASSIST. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME BECAUSE THE WINDOW COULD DETACH WHILE DRIVING AND POSSIBLY CAUSE HARM AND/OR DEATH TO OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROADWAY. I FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THE ISSUE WITH A BULLETIN # SB-23035-11REVA THAT RECOMMENDS THAT THE CONVERTIBLE TOP BE INSPECTED AND/OR REPLACED IF DEFECTIVE. CHRYSLER IS NOT HELPING AT ALL WITH THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE TO HELP ME FIX IT AND MAKE MY VEHICLE SAFE FOR MYSELF, AND THE OTHERS AROUND ME. I AM A MEMBER OF CROSSFIREFORUM.ORG AND THERE ARE MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THIS ISSUE THAT HAVE EITHER GOTTEN IT REPLACED BY CHRYSLER FOR FREE, OR PAID A CO-PAY TO HELP THEM FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT I WAS OFFERED NEITHER FOR THIS EXTREMELY UNSAFE ISSUE MY VEHICLE HAS. PLEASE HELP ME IN ANY WAY THAT YOU CAN. *TR
CONVERTIBLE TOP REAR WINDOW BECAME UNATTACHED FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. *TR
THE REAR WINDOW SEPARATED FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. THIS HAPPENED 2 MONTHS AFTER I CAME OUT OF A 7YR WARRANTY THAT I PAID A LOT FOR. I CALLED CHRYSLER. THEY SAID THEY ARE ONLY FIXING TOPS THAT WERE ORIGINALLY SENT TO SOUTHERN STATES. SO NO LUCK FOR ME--IT DOES GET HOT IN PHILA. THE DEALER WON'T DO ANYTHING. THE CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE FORUM IS FULL OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS DEFECT. THIS IS VERY DISCOURAGING THAT AN AMERICAN CAR MAKER WON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. *TR
THE REAR WINDOW HAS BECOME UNGLUED FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. THE TOP IS BRAND NEW HAS NO LEAKAGE. ALL SHOPS ARE TELLING ME THAT I WILL HAVE TO SPEND $2500 ON A NEW TOP. I GOOGLED THIS ISSUE AND NUMEROUS OTHER DRIVERS OF THE EXACT SAME MAKE AND MODEL ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. WHY HASN'T THIS CAR BEEN RECALLED? THIS IS SUCH AN INCONVENIENCE AND COMPLETELY UNFAIR CONSIDERING MY TOP IS STILL IN GOOD CONDITION. *TR
IGNITION WOULD SOMETIMES STICK & NOT ACT LIKE IT SHOULD. FOR FEAR THAT I COLD GET STRANDED & AFTER TALKING TO DEALER (BALES MOTORS - JEFFERSONVILLE IN) , THEY REPLACED MY KEY SWITCH , BY HONORING MY BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY THAT I HAD PURCHASED WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR......[XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
THE REAR GLASS WINDOW ON THE CONVERTIBLE TOP CAME LOOSE ON ONE SIDE AND IS COMING LOOSE ACROSS THE TOP. I HAVE DISCOVERED SINCE THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND IS REFUSING TO ISSUE A RECALL INORDER TO FIX THE DEFECT. MY VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGE KEPT, AND THE TOP IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. *TR
REAR WINDOW ON CONVERTIBLE TOP ADHESIVE FAILED, WINDOW FELL OUT OVERNIGHT. TOP IS IN GOOD CONDITION OTHERWISE. THIS POSES A REAL SAFETY HAZARD, AND APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE BASED UPON MY WEB SEARCHES. *TR
I AM ONE OF THOSE AFFECTED BY THE REAR WINDOW FALLING OUT OF THE CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. AT FIRST THEY OFFERED TO GET ME A NEW TOP FOR $700. GOODWILL THEY SAID. I TOLD THEM I COULDN'T AFFORD IT. THEY WOUND UP RESENDING THE OFFER AND REFUSED TO HELP ME AT ALL. I TRY TO REGLUE THE WINDOW BUT IT FALLS OUT AGAIN. I AM IN NJ WHICH IS NOT ONE OF THE STATES THEY WERE HELPING PEOPLE IN. PLEASE HAVE CHRYSLER RECALL ALL CROSSFIRES FOR THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. THANKS. *TR
WENT TO BACK OUT OF GARAGE AND THE VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO STEER. CONTINUED TO GO AND THE CAR DROVE LIKE IT DID NOT HAVE POWER STEERING. I CHECKED THE FLUID LEVEL AND IT IS RIGHT TO THE LINE AND LOOKS VERY CLEAN. IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THE STEERING QUIT AFTER ONLY HAVING LESS THAN SIX THOUSAND MILES. *TR
REAR WINDOW IN CONVERTIBLE TOP IS SEPARATING FROM THE FABRIC. CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE AND THEY HAVE BEEN OF NO HELP AT ALL. THEY ARE REFUSING TO FIX IT AND TELL ME IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACT. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS YEAR CAR FOR THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I FEEL STRONGLY THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, IF WINDOW FALLS OUT WHILE I'M DRIVING IT COULD CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT OR WINDOW COULD HIT SOMEONE BEHIND ME. WILL CROSS MY FINGERS THAT THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN! *TR
REAR WINDOW IN CONVERTIBLE TOP UNGLUED ON TOP AND BOTH SIDES AND FELL INTO CAR WHILE PARKED. AIR TEMPERATURE WAS ABOVE 100F. NO PREVIOUS PROBLEMS WITH WINDOW LEAKAGE OR SIGN OF IMPENDING FAILURE. BELIEVE THIS IS PART OF SB 23035-11 REV A BUT LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER UNABLE TO AUTHORIZE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT. HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND OPENED CASE NUMBER [XXX] AND AM AWAITING RESOLUTION. THE REAR WINDOW GLASS FELL OUT OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. *TR
WAS DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET AND STARTED HEARING BANGING FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR. PULLED OVER AND SAW THAT REAR WINDOW HAD DISENGAGED FROM THE CONVERTIBLE RAG TOP. HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS PERTAINING TO THE 2005 ONLY. SUPPOSEDLY CHRYSLER HAS ADMITTED IT WAS A DEFECT. UNFORTUNATELY MY VIN # DOES NOT QUALITY AND I HAVE 137,000 MILES ON THE CAR. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT THE WINDOW CANNOT BE REGLUED AND THE ONLY ANSWER IS A BRAND NEW TOP COSTING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. CHRYSLER KNEW OF THIS DEFECT YEARS AGO AND DID NOT NOTIFY ANYONE. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHERE THE WEATHER IS WARM. IT WAS CLOSE TO 100 DEGREES WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I WAS GETTING READY TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY AND WHO KNOWS THE DAMAGE IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED MY CAR AND ANOTHER CAR DRIVING BEHIND ME IF THE WINDOW HAD COME OFF. IF I HAD BEEN MADE AWARE, I WOULD HAVE HAD IT CHECKED. WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL? *TR
REAR WINDOW ON MY RAG TOP HAS COME UNGLUED HAVE READ WERE A LOT OF OTHER CROSSFIRES RAG TOPS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A DEFECT THAT CHRYSLER NEEDS TO FIX AT NO COST. *TT
WHEN TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD I NOTICED THAT THE GLASS REAR WINDOW ON MY CONVERTIBLE 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTER HAD BECOME PARTIALLY UNATTACHED FROM THE CANVAS TOP AND WAS HITTING AGAINST THE BODY WHEN I WOULD HIT A BUMP. WHEN I GOT HOME I DID AN INTERNET SEARCH ABOUT HOW TO FIX IT, AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE CROSSFIRE REAR WINDOW OF THIS MODEL YEAR AND ALTHOUGH CHRYSLER ADMITS THE PROBLEM THEY ARE ONLY FIXING/COVERING THE REPAIR BASED ON THE VIN #. IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT A SOLSTICE OR S2000. I CAN'T AFFORD A NEW TOP WHICH IS THEIR ONLY SOLUTION OF COURSE AT MY OWN EXPENSE. I TOOK IT TO SEVERAL SHOPS TO SEE IF THEY WOULD RE-GLUE IT FOR ME. THE TOP IS MINT EXCEPT FOR THE LOOSE WINDOW. C'MON CHRYSLER MAN UP AND FIX THIS FOR EVERY OWNER NOT JUST SOME OF THEM! *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR GLASS WAS FALLING OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE OF A DESIGN FLAW, THE WINDOW WOULD BECOME DETACHED FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. THE CONTACT STATED THE DEALER ADVISED HIM THAT THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED A RECALL HOWEVER, HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. REAR WINDOW SEPARATED FROM TOP. LEAKS WATER IN RAIN AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE AT ANY SPEED. DEALER HAD ME CALL CHRYSLER FOR DETAILS ON WARRANTY CODE X31. TSB SB-23035-11REV A CHRYSLER INDICATED EVEN THOUGH THIS VEHICLE'S PROBLEM IS CONSISTANT WITH ALL OTHER COMPLAINTS BEING ADDRESSED BY WARRANTY X31 AND THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING UTILIZED IN THE STATE OF TENNESEE WHERE THE "RECALL" IS ACTIVE THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ORIGINALLY PURCHASED IN ONE OF THE COVERED STATES AND THEREFOE IS NOT COVERED. THIS POLICY IS NOT FAIR AND CONSISITANT. ALL 2005 CROSSFIRES WERE BUILT IN GERMANY, THEREFORE ORIGINATION POINT OR US STATE OF INITIAL SALE SHOULD NOT BE THE INDICATING FACTOR. IF THE FAILURE OCCURS DURING THE X31 WARRANTY EXTENSION PERIOD THEN THE REPAIR SHOULD BE COVERED. THIS IS A $3000.00 PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDOW BECAME DETACHED. AS A RESULT, THE TRUNK WOULD BECOME FILLED WITH WATER WHENEVER IT WOULD RAIN. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE COMPONENT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, BUT WANTED THE VEHICLE INSPECTED TO SEE WHAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA ITEM NUMBER: 10042531 (VISIBILITY) THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO COVER AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM FOR 10 YEARS AND 100,000 MILES, BUT THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT REGISTERED IN A SOUTHERN STATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSS FIRE CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDOW WAS DANGLING FROM THE ROOF. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO GET THE WINDOW REPAIRED BUT THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO BE TAKEN TO A GLASS SHOP FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A GLASS SHOP BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THE REAR WINDOW OF THE CONVERTIBLE, THE ADHESIVE HAS FAILED AND THE BACK WINDOW IS READY TO FALL OUT.THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDOW HAS COMPLETELY COME UNGLUED. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR VERY FAR, I AM AFRAID THE REAR WINDOW IS GOING TO FALL OUT. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND HAVE LEARNED THAT CHRYSLER HAS ADMITTED TO THIS PROBLEM. THERE IS A BULLETIN NUMBER{SB-23035-11R} FOR THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE CALLED THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND GOT THE RUN AROUND. I THEN CALLED CHRYSLER COMPLAINT DEPT. AND STILL GOT NO WHERE. THE MORE I RESEARCH THE MORE I FIND OUT. CHRYSLER IS ONLY FIXING A SELECT FEW. UNDER THE EQUAL PROTECTION LAW, CHRYSLER IS NOT ALLOWED TO JUST SELECT A FEW, BUT INSTEAD SHOULD BE FIXING ALL, SINCE THEY HAVE ADMITTED THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE BACK WINDOW FALLING OUT AND ADHESIVE NOT HOLDING. *JS
REAR WINDOW TOTALLY SEPARATED FROM SOFT TOP, AND FELL OUT. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDSHIELD FELL INWARD, INTO THE VEHICLE CABIN WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDOW NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
ONE NIGHT PARKED MY CAR IN PERFECT CONDITION, NEXT MORNING 5/22/2012, CAME OUT AND THE BACK WINDOW IS BECOMING UNGLUED! I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED TWO DEALERSHIPS AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO SEND IT OUT FOR A NEW SOFT TOP AND GLASS WINDOW WHICH WOULD BE ABOUT $3,000. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! THEN I LOOKED ON LINE AND THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THE REAR WINDOW IN THE 2005 CROSSFIRE. CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY WILL NOT ASSIST YOU. YOU REACH A CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON THAT TAKES THE INFO AND WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU AFTER INVESTIGATION. EACH TIME THEY CALL TO SAY THEY ARE STILL CHECKING INTO THE SITUATION, FRUSTRATES YOU MORE AND MORE. I ENDED UP ORDERING THE WINDOW AND TOP FROM A PLACE THE DEALERSHIP GAVE ME AND AM WAITING FOR IT TO COME IN. IN THE MEANTIME, I DRIVE THE CAR WITH A TOWEL PLACED BETWEEN THE METAL AND LOOSE WINDOW TO PREVENT RATTLING AND HOPE THE WINDOW DOESN'T UNSTICK FROM THE TOP OF WHICH 20" ARE STILL GLUED! NEVER AGAIN, CHRYSLER SHOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS! *TR
WAS SHOPPING. LEFT STORE , GOT IN MY CAR , PUT THE KEY IN & IT WOULD NOT TURN (FROZE). HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. (CROSS MOTORS LOU KY)......COST $1,569.....HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH MANY CROSSFIRE OWNERS EVERYWHERE. TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING PROBLEM WITH "DEFECTIVE KEY SWITCH" . SHOULD WARRANT A CALLBACK FROM MFGR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 65 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURE WAS CONTACT BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
THE REAR WINDOW STARTED TO FALL OUT OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. THIS HAS A KNOW PROBLEM BY CHRYSLER AND THEY HAVE A SERVICE BULLETIN ON (23-035-11) ON CARS SENT TO CERTAIN SOUTHERN STATES BUT MINE WAS FROM VIRGINIA AND THE ARE SAYING IT IS NOT COVERED. THIS APPEARS TO HAPPEN ON ALL CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLES ,THERE IS A GLUE DEFECT ON ALL THESE CROSSFIRES AND THE HEAT FROM THE SOUTHERN STATES EXPEDITES THE DELAMINATION. IT GETS JUST AS HOT IN VIRGINIA. IF A CAR WAS SHIPPED TO NORTH CAROLINA FOR A DAY THEN DRIVEN ELSE WERE IT WOULD BE COVERED, THEY RECALL MAKES KNOW SENSE. THIS IS A KNOW DEFECT BY CHRYSLER ON ALL THE 2005 CONVERTIBLES, THEY WERE ALL MADE IN THE SAME PLACE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS CONDITION TO EVERYONE AND CHRYSLER NEEDS TO REPLACE ALL THESE TOPS ON THE 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLES AND/OR EXTEND THE RECALL/BULLETIN TO ALL THE 2005 CHRYSLER CONVERTIBLES BEFORE SOMEONE GETS UNNECESSARILY KILLED. *TT
THE BACK WINDOW OF THE CONVERTIBLE IS COMING UNGLUED. *TR
THE REAR GLASS OF MY 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTABLE DETACHED FROM THE TOP AND FELL OUT SUDDENLY AT 65 MPH. THE ONLY THING THAT SAVED IT FROM CAUSING POSSIBLE INJURIES WAS THE REAR GLASS HEATER WIRING. THE CAR IS GARAGED AND ONLY DRIVEN MAYBE ONE DAY A WEEK. *TR
I PURCHASED THIS CAR USED WITH 28,400 MILES ON IT FROM A DEALER AND HAD NO PROBLEMS AT ALL FOR MY FIRST 1000 MILES. I LOVED THE CAR! HOWEVER, THEN BEGAN THE LOCKED UP IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM. AT FIRST, IT WAS MINOR, I ONLY HAD TO TRY TURNING THE KEY A DOZEN TIMES BEFORE IT WOULD START, BUT THAT GOT A LITTLE WORSE EVERY DAY. THEN TODAY, 6 MONTHS LATER, IT TOOK ABOUT 500 ATTEMPTS AND 20 MINUTES BEFORE IT STARTED. NOW I NEED A MECHANIC AND EXCEPT TO SPEND UPWARDS OF A $1000. I'VE PROBABLY HAD 25 DIFFERENT CARS IN MY LIFETIME AND NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING CLOSE TO THIS. DOESN'T CHRYSLER RECOGNIZE THIS IS THEIR MANUFACTURING DEFECT? HAVEN'T THEY READ THE CROSSFIRE FORUM? I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL! *TR

WHILE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY, THE REAR GLASS SEPARATED FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP ON THE LEFT, RIGHT AND BOTTOM. THE GLUE USED TO BIND THE TWO TOGETHER SEEMS TO HAVE FAILED. AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM THE INTERNET, IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM TO THIS MODEL/YEAR CAR. *TR
THE REAR WINDOW GLASS ON THE ROADSTER HAS SEPARATED FROM THE ROOF LINING. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT CAN NOT BE REPAIRED ONLY REPLACED. THIS PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN THE ADHESIVE FAILS COMPLETELY AND THE GLASS FALLS OUT ON A ROADWAY OR TURNS INTO A PROJECTILE INSIDE THE CAR WHILE DRIVING. VERY COSTLY TO THE CONSUMER TO REPAIR SHOULD BE RECALLED AS IT LOOKS LIKE THERE ARE MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
WHILE PARKED IN OUR GARAGE THE REAR GLASS WINDOW SEPARATED FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. A PHONE CALL WAS MADE TO NAPLES CHRYSLER AND WAS IMMEDIATELY TOLD THAT A NEW TOP WAS NECESSARY AND TO COME IN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. BROUGHT CAR IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND AFTER SHOWING THEM OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY PAMPHLET WAS TOLD CONVERTIBLE TOP WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OR RECALL. PHONE CALL MADE TO EXTENDED WARRANTY PEOPLE AND CHRYSLER REP. WAS LATER TOLD BY WARRANTY PEOPLE THAT CAR WOULD BE FIXED UNDER "GOOD WILL" PROVISION. HOWEVER, CHRYSLER DECIDED TO REGLUE THE GLASS AND NOT PROPERLY FIX THE PROBLEM BY GIVING A NEW TOP AS THEY INITIALLY RECOMMENDED. ALSO BECAUSE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED IN PA AND LATER SHIPPED TO FLORIDA AND HAS BEEN THERE SINCE 2006 THE RECALL SUPPOSEDLY DIDN'T APPLY TO US. THE PROPER FIX WAS A NEW TOP. THE FIX WITH THE SO CALLED EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS A SHAM. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ADJUST THE STEERING COLUMN BUT THE STEERING COLUMN WOULD NOT LOCK, CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO MOVE BACK AND FORTH WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 46,720.

THE COMMON PROBLEM OF THE IGNITION LOCKING AND KEY UNABLE TO TURN. THERE ARE COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND OTHERWISE BY CROSSFIRE LOVING OWNERS WHO ARE UNABLE TO SUDDENLY TURN THEIR KEY...AND THE DEALERSHIPS CHARGING WELL OVER A $1000 DOLLARS TO FIX IT, DUE TO BAD DESIGN. THE DOOR PULL HANDLE ON THE INTERIOR OF THE CROSSFIRE ARE SHEATHED IN THIN METAL WITH A SEAM ON THE BACK SIDE FACING THE DOOR PANEL. THIS SEAM HAS SEPARATED (BECOME EXPOSED) AND WHEN CLOSING THE DOOR, SLICED MY MIDDLE FINGER VERY DEEPLY, CAUSING A GREAT DEAL OF PAIN AND BLEEDING. *TR
THE REAR WINDOW IS DETACHING FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. IT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER THE PAST YEAR AND THE WINDOW COULD FALL OUT AT ANY TIME WITHOUT A REPAIR. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 2005 ROADSTER MODELS, CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ISSUE A GENERAL RECALL. AS A RESULT, MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER IN SEMINOLE FLORIDA WILL NOT REPLACE NOR REPAIR THE TOP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MOVED THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROADWAY AND ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO SIT FOR 20 MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
THE BACK WINDOW HAS SEPARATED FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP AND HAS FALLEN OUT DUE TO FAULTY GLUE. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH SHOWING THAT HUNDREDS OF OWNERS ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. CHRYSLER IS UNWILLING TO HELP ANY OF US. THEY NEED TO BE FORCED TO ISSUE A RECALL AND REPAIR THESE PROBLEMS BECAUSE OF THEIR FAULTY MANUFACTURING. *TR
THE BACK GLASS ADHESIVE ON THE CONVERTIBLE SOFT TOP ON MY 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTER IS FAILING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE ALMOST 3 INCHES ACROSS TOP AND BOTTOM, CAUSING THE GLASS TO SEPARATE FROM THE FABRIC TOP. THIS ADHESIVE IS THE ONLY SUPPORT FOR THE WINDOW TO THE FABRIC TOP. THE WINDOW/TOP CONNECTION CURRENTLY DOES NOT PROVIDE A WATERPROOF SEAL AND ALLOWS WATER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. THIS PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN THE ADHESIVE FAILS COMPLETELY AND THE GLASS FALLS OUT ON A ROADWAY OR TURNS INTO A PROJECTILE INSIDE THE CAR WHILE DRIVING. CHRYSLER HAS STATED THAT ONLY VEHICLES DELIVERED TO DEALERS IN SELECT SOUTHERN STATES QUALIFY FOR THIS RECALL/EXTENDED COVERAGE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR ALL CROSSFIRES WITH CONVERTIBLE TOPS! DO YOU WAIT UNTIL THE WINDOW GLASS COMES OUT COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING WITH THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE TO SUBSEQUENT VEHICLES AND OR OTHER PROPERTY? NO! THIS DEFECTIVE ITEM SHOULD BE REPLACED BY CHRYSLER FOR ALL CROSSFIRE VEHICLES WITH CONVERTIBLE TOPS. CHRYSLER SHOULD CONTACT ALL REGISTERED OWNERS AND ADVISE THEM AS TO HOW TO HAVE THERE DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS REPLACED BEFORE AN INCIDENT AND/OR ACCIDENT OCCURS. *TR
