THE REAR WINDOW OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP FELL COMPLETELY OUT OF THE VEHICLE. *TT
CHRYSLER REFERENCE # [XXX] TSB 23 035 11 THE REAR WINDOW IN THE CONTV. TOP HAS BEEN COMING UNGLUED. THERE ARE SEVERAL CASES TO SUPPORT THIS. WHILE SITTING PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY ON A HOT SUMMER DAY THE BACK GLASS OF MY CONVERTIBLE TOP BECAME SEPARATED FROM THE FABRIC OF THE TOP AS A RESULT OF ADHESIVE FAILURE. HAD THIS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING PERSONAL INJURY WOULD HAVE RESULTED. *KB
THE BACK GLASS ADHESIVE ON THE CONVERTIBLE SOFT TOP ON MY 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTER HAS BEGUN TO FAIL, CAUSING THE GLASS TO SEPARATE FROM THE FABRIC TOP. THIS ADHESIVE IS THE ONLY SUPPORT FOR THE WINDOW TO THE FABRIC TOP. THE WINDOW/TOP CONNECTION CURRENTLY DOES NOT PROVIDE A WATERPROOF SEAL AND ALLOWS WATER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. RECENTLY, THE DETERIORATION HAS ACCELERATED AND SOON COULD PRESENT AS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN THE ADHESIVE FAILS COMPLETELY AND THE GLASS FALLS OUT ON A ROADWAY. *TR
BACK WINDOW FALLING OUT FROM POOR ADHESIVE TO FABRIC TOP. CHRYSLER HAS A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON THESE VEHICES, BUT ONLY IN CERTAIN STATES. THIS IS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT AND THE CAR MAKER SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS TO OTHERS BEHIND WHEN THE BACK WINDOW SEPARATES FROM THE VEHICLE. *TR
BACK WINDOW FELL OUT OF 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE. DEALER OFFERS NO FIX. POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP. BASED ON WEB FORUMS, IT IS COMMON AND CHRYSLER DOES NOTHING TO SUPPORT THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE BOTH THESE CARS. WINDOWS SHOULD NOT FALL OUT OF CARS... 42K MILES. *TR
2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTER: REAR GLASS WINDOW IN CONVERTIBLE TOP SEPARATED FROM FABRIC. ALTHOUGH THE WINDOW HAS NOT YET FALLEN OUT COMPLETELY, RESEARCH ON INTERNET INDICATES THAT THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM IN CROSSFIRES AND THE PROBLEM WILL PROGRESS UNTIL THE WINDOW FALLS OUT COMPLETELY. IF THIS WINDOW WERE TO FALL OUT WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS NOT ONLY COULD IT STARTLE THE DRIVER TO THE POINT OF LOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE BUT COULD INJURE OR KILL ANYONE FOLLOWING OR NEAR THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT BY CHRYSLER AND SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD WHICH THEY HAVE IGNORED FOR YEARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE REAR GLASS WINDOW PARTIALLY DETACHED FROM THE SOFT TOP CONVERTIBLE ROOF WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE WINDOW GLASS WAS REMOVED IN ORDER TO RESUME OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO ADVISED THE CONVERTIBLE SOFT TOP WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED A VOLUNTARY RECALL PERTAINING TO THE REPLACEMENT OF THE CONVERTIBLE SOFT TOP HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
GLUE ON BACK GLASS HAS SEPARATED ON ONE THIRD OF GLASS. IF IT CONTINUES ,THE GLASS COULD FALL OUT. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN WHILE APPLYING BRAKES, I DON'T WANT TO THINK OF THE CONSEQUENCES.
THE REAR WINDOW GLASS ON THE ROADSTER SEPARATES RAPIDLY FROM THE ROOF LINING AND IF NOT CAUGHT IN TIME WILL COMPLETELY DETACH AND BECOME A PROJECTILE TO THE INTERNAL OCCUPANTS OR TO OTHER ROAD USERS. CHRYSLER HAVE INDICATED ON THEIR X31 RECALL FOR THE PROBLEM THE EXPECTATION THAT CERTAIN VEHICLES ARE WARRANTED FOR 10 YEARS/100,000 MILES DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, BUT ONLY FOR VEHICLES SHIPPED TO SOME 8 SOUTHERN STATES. THEIR CONTENTION IS THAT OTHER VEHICLES ARE NOT AFFECTED BUT THIS IS AT ODDS WITH THE EXPERIENCES OF MYSELF AND MANY OTHERS. *TR
THE REAR GLASS WINDOW IN MY CROSSFIRE ROADSTER JUST FELL OUT. THE VEHICLE IS GARAGED KEPT, HAS 27K MILES, AND TOP LOOKS LIKE NEW. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH ON THE WEB THIS TURNS OUT TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE AND I WOULD SAY A FACTORY DEFECT. MINE DID NOT OCCUR WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD BUT I CAN SEE THIS EASILY HAPPENING IF IT FELL OUT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN. THE GLASS COULD GO STRAIGHT OUT THE BACK. *KB
THE REAR WINDOW CAME UNGLUED FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP ON MY 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. CAR STAYS IN THE GARAGE WHEN NOT DRIVING AND IS WELL MAINTAINS WITH NO ACCIDENTS. CHRYSLER SAID IT WAS NOT A DEFECT AND IS NOT COVERED IN THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH I WAS TOLD WAS "BUMPER TO BUMPER" AT THE TIME OF SALE. THEY WILL NOT REPAIR THE GLASS AND SAID I HAVE TO REPLACE THE TOP FOR OVER $3,000. *TR
ADD ME TO THE LIST AS MANY OTHERS HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE REAR GLASS FALLING OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE OF POOR WORKMANSHIP. IT WAS GLUED IN WITH NO OTHER SUPPORT AND THE GLASS JUST CAME LOOSE SITTING IN THE CARPORT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL CAR. I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH CHRYSLER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THE REAR GLASS WINDOW IS COMING LOOSE AND SEPARATING/DELAMINATING FROM THE FABRIC CONVERTIBLE TOP. IT SEEMS THE GLUE/BOND IS FAILING AND I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THE WINDOW WILL COMPLETELY BECOME DETACHED AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING. I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY CHRYSLER AS A RECALL. MY CONVERTABLE TOP IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT THE REAR WINDOW IS FALLING OUT AND I AM BEING TOLD THAT I HAVE TO REPLACE MY WHOLE TOP IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE WINDOW BECAUSE OF THE POOR DESIGN. AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY PARKING SPACE AFTER WORK, THE REAR WINDOW OF MY CONVERTIBLE FELL INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE CAR. SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME. FORTUNATELY I WASN'T GOING VERY QUICKLY OR I MIGHT HAVE LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR. GOT THE CAR HOME AND LOOKED THE ISSUE UP ON THE INTERNET AND WAS SURPRISED TO FIND THAT APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR, CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT IT, BUT WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THEIR ANSWER IS TO INSTALL A NEW ROOF AT $3,800. I CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE A PIECE OF GLASS COMING LOOSE LIKE THAT IN A MOVING VEHICLE CAN CAUSE A REAL PROBLEM.
2 DAYS AGO, IT WAS HOTT HERE IN VEGAS, MY CAR IS GARAGE KEPT BUT HAD TO PARK OUTSIDE. WHEN I RETURNED TO MY CAR AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR, THE BLACK GLASS IN THE CONVERTIBLE TOP JUST FELL OUT. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE LIKE THIS BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE AS THE TOPS ARE ON BACKORDER AND I AM NOT SURE IF I WILL EVER GET ONE. I CURRENTLY HAVE TO BIG BLANKETS ON THE DECK HOLDING IT IN PLACE AS PART OF THE SEAL IS HOLDING, BUT THIS WILL NOT LAST LONG. *TR

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FAILURE WAS A COMMON OCCURRENCE BUT THE WINDOW WAS NOT WARRANTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
05' CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTER CONVERTIBLE. THE BACK WINDOW GLASS IS FALLING OUT. BEEN ADVISED THAT THE GLUE WAS FAULTY MANUFACTURER ISSUE. THE TOP FABRIC APPEARS TO BE SHRINKING AND PULLED AWAY MAKING THE WINDOW TO COME APART FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. THIS IS NOT ONLY A HAZARD TO DRIVERS & PASSENGERS BUT ALSO TO ONCOMING VEHICLES OR VEHICLES FOLLOWING IF THIS SHOULD COME OUT COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEED LIMITS. I AM HOPING CHRYSLER- DAIMLER CORPORATION WILL HAVE IT AS A RECALL SINCE THERE HAVE BEEN MANY MANY MANY CHRYSLER CUSTOMERS ON RECORD WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE 100% REPAIRED BY THE CHRYSLER OR AT LEAST OWNERS SHOULD BE COMPENSATED 100% FOR REPAIRS. *TR
2005 CROSSFIRE BACK WINDOW FELL OUT OF IT WHILE DRIVING, CREATING A VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS MOMENT. THE CAR HAS 8,200 MILES ON IT. AFTER TAKING IT DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID ITS A FAULT IN THE ADHESIVE AND CHRYSLER WILL NOT REPLACE IT. *TR

SEARCHING THE INTERNET I FOUND THAT THIS MAY BE A COMMON PROBLEM FOR OTHER OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE.I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS METHOD OF INSTALLATION FROM THE FACTORY COULD BE CONSIDERED QUALITY WORK BECAUSE ITS JUST GLUED ONTO THE DENIM CLOTH. THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OR TREATED IN A NEGLIGENT MANNER IT IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN EXCEPT FOR POOR MANUFACTURING PROCESSES. *TR

WHEN TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY I NOTICED THAT THE GLASS REAR WINDOW ON MY CONVERTIBLE 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE ROADSTER HAD BECOME PARTIALLY ( ONLY 6 INCHES WHERE ATTACHED AT TOP OF GLASS ) UNATTACHED FROM THE CANVAS TOP AND WAS HITTING AGAINST THE BODY WHEN I WOULD HIT A BUMP. WHEN I GOT HOME I DID AN INTERNET SEARCH ABOUT HOW TO FIX IT, AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE CROSSFIRE REAR WINDOW OF THIS MODEL YEAR. I CALLED THE DEALER AT THAT TIME AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED. I HAD THE WINDOW GLUED BACK BUT IT HAS SENSE DELAMINATED AGAIN. NOW I SEE CHRYSLER MAY HAVE BEEN PLANNING THIS FIX FOR SOME TIME? *TR
WHEN YOU PUT THE KEY IN TO START ENGINE IT WON'T TURN IN ANY DIRECTION. CAN NOT REMOVE KEY. SHOOK, JIGGLED, TURNED , KEY WITH NO MOVEMENT. TOOK ABOUT 3 HOURS OF SHAKING KEY IN LOCK BEFORE IT WORKED. HAS DONE THIS EVERY TIME THE LAST FEW TIMES I DROVE CAR. NOW THE CAR JUST SITS IN THE DRIVEWAY. I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT WILL NOT EVER TURN AGAIN. WOULD NOT LIKE TO HAVE THE ENGINE DIE ON FREEWAY AND HAVE TO RE-START THE ENGINE WITH THE KEY ACTING THE WAY THAT IT DOES, WOULD BE SITTING IN TRAFFIC SHAKING THE KEY FOR 2 TO 3 HOURS. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN PLACING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, IT WOULD NOT TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO ADVISED HIM THAT THE HOUSING, CYLINDER, AND THE KEY ALL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 38,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2005 CHRYSLER ON I-75 AND THE FRONT WINDSHIELD UPPER REVEAL MOLDING FLEW OFF. IT WAS A GOOD THING THAT NO ONE WAS IMMEDIATELY BEHIND ME. *TT

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HER THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 38,000. UPDATED 12/02/11*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A DELAMINATION OF THE REAR WINDOW GLASS FROM THE CANVAS OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP.
I PURCHASED A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE ON 5/9/11 FROM AN INDIVIDUAL. AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, I DECIDED TO SEARCH THE INTERNET TO SEE IF THERE WAS A FORUM FOR CROSSFIRE OWNERS. I DID FIND A GREAT SITE AND STARTED PERUSING. I CAME ACROSS A THREAD OF OTHER OWNERS OF THE 2005 CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE WHO WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE GLASS WINDOW SEPARATING FROM THE CANVAS. THE PROBLEM TYPICALLY OCCURRED IN THE "HIGH HEAT" STATES I.E., FLORIDA AND TEXAS AND TYPICALLY SURFACED AFTER THE 36 K MILEAGE MARK. SINCE I LIVE IN FLORIDA, AND THIS WAS A FLORIDA CAR, I IMMEDIATELY WENT TO MY GARAGE AND TOOK A CLOSE LOOK AT THE BACK WINDOW. UPON CASUAL OBSERVATION, IT WASN'T OBVIOUS, BUT ONCE I RAN MY FINGER ALONG THE EDGE OF THE GLASS AND THE CANVAS, LO AND BEHOLD, IT WAS SEPARATING!!! I WAS SHOCKED THAT THIS WAS HAPPENING!!! LONG STORY SHORT, AFTER TAKING IT TO MY LOCAL DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOT A REPAIR THAT COULD BE DONE AND THE TOP WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $ 2,200.00. THE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT HE WOULD CONTACT CHRYSLER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD BE WILLING TO OFFER ANY "GOODWILL" TOWARDS THE REPLACEMENT. WELL, NO "GOODWILL" OFFERED BY CHRYSLER :( BOTTOM LINE, I NEED A SAFE VEHICLE SO I AM HAVING THE TOP REPLACED AT MY COST. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP IS FANTASTIC AND THEY HAVE OFFERED TO DISCOUNT THE REPLACEMENT BY 15% WHICH I THOUGHT SHOWED GOOD FAITH ON THEIR PART. IT SEEMS TO ME, WITH SO MANY OWNERS HAVING THIS PROBLEM, AN INVESTIGATION INTO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING NEEDS TO HAPPEN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS AN INTEGRITY ISSUE OF THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. SOMEONE NEEDS TO STEP UP AND REPRESENT THE OWNERS OF THESE 2005 CHRYSLER CONVERTIBLE AND SAY "YES, THIS IS A DEFECT AND CHRYSLER WILL NEED TO COMPENSATE FAIRLY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THESE TOPS!!" THE CAR I PURCHASED WAS ALWAYS GARAGED AND THE TOP IS IN LIKE NEW CONDITION ~ THE GLASS DELAMINATION IS A DEFECT, NOT CAUSED BY WEAR & TEAR. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE! *TR

WHILE THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WAS BEING OPENED, THE MOTOR FAILED WHICH CAUSED THE TOP TO ONLY OPEN PARTIALLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,260.
ON MY 2005 CROSSFIRE, THE REAR WINDOW SEPARATED FROM ROOF AND NOW THE ROOF WON'T RETRACT WITH A RAPID BLINKING RED LIGHT ON THE ROOF SWITCH AND FOR SOME REASON IT CONSTANTLY RUN MY BATTERY DOWN. I HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE THAT I HAVE OWNED FOR FIVE MONTHS. ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO THE REAR WINDOW FELL OUT OF MY CONVERTIBLE. FROM WHAT I HAVE FOUND OUT THIS SEEMS TO BE A CONTINUING PROBLEM WITH THIS YEARS MODEL. HAVE NOT SEEN ANY INFO ABOUT ANY OTHER CROSSFIRE MODELS AFTER 2005 WITH THIS PROBLEM. MAYBE THEY REALIZED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND FIXED IT FROM 2006 ON UP CALLED TO SEE IF MY EXTENDED SERVICE CONTRACT COVERS THIS, WAS TOLD NO IT WAS A TRIM ISSUE MY INSURANCE WILL HELP COVER THE COST TO REPLACE BUT THAT DOESN'T SEEM FAIR TO THEM, THE CARS NOT WRECKED. I HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE THAT I PURCHASED 1 YEAR AGO AND THE REAR WINDOW HAS CAME APART FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP FABRIC. THE TOPS ARE ON BACKORDER AT CHRYSLER AND I HAVE ONLY FOUND ONE SHOP IN CALIFORNIA THAT HAS A REPLACEMENT, BUT I HAVE TO HAVE THE FULL TOP FRAME REMOVED AND SHIPPED TO THEM FOR REPLACEMENT. IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE. VEHICLE IS NOW INOPERABLE. APPEARS TO BE A JAMMED PIN FROM STEERING COLUMN TO IGNITION SWITCH. IT HAS BEEN A RECURRING PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS UNTIL IT FAILED ALTOGETHER. FROM THE NUMBER OF POSTS REGARDING THIS MALFUNCTION IT APPEARS A DEFECTIVE COMPONENT AS THE COMPLAINTS ARE FOR CARS WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE. *TR
2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE TOP HAS A DEFECTIVE GLUE FOR ATTACHING REAR GLASS WINDOW. AFTER ONLY 22K MILES REAR GLASS HAS DETACHED AND CAN ONLY BE REPLACED, NOT FIXED AT A COST OF OVER $2000. THE FAILURE OF THIS DESIGN CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY IF GLASS SEPARATES AT SPEED. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS DEFECT AND FULLY SUPPORT ITS PRODUCT. *TR

REAR WINDOW FAILURE -- ADHESIVE FAILS & REAR WINDOW FALLS OUT. THE FAILURE OF ANY WINDOW IS NOT NORMAL "WEAR AND TEAR." MANY OF THESE CARS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE OVER THE YEARS. CHRYSLER FINALLY -- AFTER YEARS OF COMPLAINTS -- ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN #23-03511REVA IN 2011 THAT, ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER, COVERS ONLY VEHICLES DELIVERED IN NINE SOUTHEASTERN STATES. IT EXTENDS WARRANTY COVERAGE TO TEN YEARS (WHICH MEANS CHRYSLER WILL REPLACE THE CONVERTIBLE TOPS UNDER WARRANTY). ALL THESE CARS WERE BUILT IN BELGIUM. CHRYSLER HAD TROUBLE SELLING THESE VEHICLES SO IT AUCTIONED SOME VEHICLES INTERNALLY TO ITS DEALER NETWORK, WHO WERE THEN PERMITTED TO GET WHATEVER THEY COULD FOR BRAND NEW "USED" CARS. MINE WENT TO A DODGE DEALER IN FARMVILLE VA AND WAS SOLD TO ME (VIA EBAY) WITH 3 MILES ON THE ODOMETER IN MID-2007 OR SO. 33 MOS. OF "NEW CAR WARRANTY" REMAINED WHEN I REC'D IT HERE IN HAWAII. WHEN THAT WARRANTY EXPIRED I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED "PLATINUM" WARRANTY. THE REAR WINDOW FELL OUT OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP THREE MONTHS AFTER THE INITIAL 36 MONTH WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED, THE EXTENDED "PLATINUM" WARRANTY WOULDN'T COVER REPAIRS. THE CAR HAD APPROX. 8000 MILES ON IT. AS NOTED BEFORE, CHRYSLER ISSUED THE SERVICE BULLETIN MENTIONED ABOVE IN 2011 BUT ARBITRARILY EXCLUDED SOME VEHICLES DESPITE THE PROBLEM OCCURRING IN CARS ALL OVER THE NATION. I GUESS THAT THEY THOUGHT THAT THE PROBLEM WOULD HAPPEN ONLY IN CERTAIN CLIMES -- BUT THERE ARE MORE THAN NINE U.S. STATES THAT GET HOT WEATHER, E.G., HAWAII EXPERIENCES HOT SUN YEAR-ROUND. AND MINE FELL OUT DESPITE VERY LOW MILEAGE AND THE CAR BEING GARAGED WHEN NOT IN USE. I REQUEST NHTSA DEMAND THAT CHRYSLER EXTEND COVERAGE TO ALL VEHICLES THAT FIT THE CRITERIA, NOT JUST THOSE "DELIVERED" IN NINE OF FIFTY STATES. THE CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE BACK WINDOWS ON SOME CARS LOSE THEIR ADHESIVE BOND AND THE WINDOWS COME FALL PARTLY APART. THIS ALLOW RAIN WATER TO ENTER UNDER THE WINDOW, WHERE THE ROOF LATCH IS. THERE IS A WAY FOR WATER TO ENTER THE TRUNK THERE. THIS WATER FINDS ITS WAY TO TWO TRUNK CAVITIES ON THE BOTTOM, AND THE WATER HAS NO PLACE TO EXIT. ON THE RIGHT SIDE IS THE SECURITY MODULE THAT CAN BE SATURATED THAT THE FOAM INSULATION, ACTUALLY CAN STORE THIS WATER AS A SPONGE. AND THE WATER CAN THEN CAUSE A PROBLEM IN THE SECURITY AREA. MODULE. LIGHTS COMING ON FLASHING AND SIRENS BLARING AY ALL KIND OF TIMES.. THAT THE BATTERY CAN ACTUALLY BE DISCHARGED LEAVING ONE STRANDED. HAD THE PROBLEM HAPPEN, HAD TO TAKE THE TRUCK APART TO BAIL OUT WATER, QUITE A LOT, THERE IS NO EXIT HOLE FOR THE WATER TO LEAVE THAT IT BUILDS UP AROUND THE SECURITY MODULE AND THE FOAM AROUND IT, SOAKS UP WATER. THAT WHILE THE MODULE LOOKS GOOD, I SEEN A BURNED AREA AND SMELLED A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THERE WAS SO MUCH WATER IN THE FOAM THAT IT WEIGHT WAS REAL HEAVY. SOLUTION HAVE A DRAIN HOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF BOTH TRUNK PITS, BELOW THE JACK. THAT A MATERIAL THAT DOES NOT ABSORB WATER BE USED. PLACE A COVER OVER THE MODULE TO WEATHERIZE IT.. WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE THAT A SOFT RUBBER SEAL SHOULD HAVE SEALED AROUND THE ROOF LATCH HOLE INSIDE THAT THE OUTSIDE IS OKAY UNTIL THE WINDOW SEAL LETS WATER IN. *TR

I BOUGHT A USED 2005 CONVERT. CROSSFIRE. TEST DROVE IN RAIN. PAID FOR THE CAR IN FULL $14000. HAVE HAD CAR 1 MONTH BACK WINDOW IS FALLING OFF. CALLED DEALER WOULD NOT HELP. HAVE PUT ONLY 350 MILES ON CAR SINCE PURCHASE SOME OF MILES WAS FROM CAR BEING DELIVERED. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WITH WINDOW FALLING OUT. *TR
THE CAR IS A 2005 CHRYSLER SRT-6 ROADSTER. THE REAR WINDOW (GLASS) HAS DELAMINATED FROM THE CLOTH TOP AND CAME LOOSE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. THE ONLY THING THAT KEPT THE GLASS FROM COMING OUT OF THE CAR WAS THE SPADE CONNECTORS CONNECTING TO THE DEFROSTER. IF THIS HAD FALLEN OUT AND HIT A VEHICLE FOLLOWING ME OR FLEW FORWARD STRIKING THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT OR MAJOR INJURIES. *TR
