TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BEING EXAMINED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WHEN THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS DETERIORATING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 117,000.
UPPER RADIATOR HOSE DISCONNECTED FROM RADIATOR AND SPILLED COOLANT OUT. THIS PRODUCED A LOT OF STEAM. WE TOOK THE CAR TO OUR LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER. RADIATOR WAS SHOT AND DURING REPAIR, MECHANIC STATED THAT MOTOR MOUNTS WERE BROKEN. ALL REPAIRS WERE COVERED BY AN AFTERMARKET EXTENDED WARRANTY. IN READING THE NHTSA SITE, I NOTE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE MOTOR MOUNTS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS DEFECT AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR
WHEN REVERSING OR SPEEDING UP IN DRIVE WITH THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED A POPPING NOISE IS HEARD FROM THE DRIVE AND PASSENGER SIDE AXLES WITH NO DAMAGE TO THE AXLES CHRYSLER IS SAYING IT IS THE GASKETS ON THE AXLES. REPAIR COST $253 FOR 2 GASKET AND REPAIR COSTS. *JS
WE HAD OUR 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA LOOKED OVER BY A MECHANIC AROUND MARCH OF 2012 BECAUSE OUR TEENAGE DAUGHTER GOT HER DRIVERS PERMIT. WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT THE CAR WAS SAFE FOR HER TO DRIVE. HE LOOKED OVER THE CAR AND TOLD US THAT WE SHOULD START THINKING ABOUT REPLACING THE ENGINE CRADLE. HE SAID THAT ENGINE CRADLES IN THE CHRYSLER PACIFICA WERE KNOWN FOR CORROSION. WE CONTINUED TO DUE OUR NORMAL MAINTENANCE ON THE CAR AND AS OF TODAY WE ARE NOT ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL WE GET THE ENGINE CRADLE FIXED. THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND IT ONLY HAS 107,000 MILES. THIS IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX. I DID RESEARCH ONLINE AND DISCOVERED THAT CHRYSLER GROUP LLC PACIFICA'S FRONT ENGINE CRADLES WARRANTY HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES, WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST IN 2004 - 2005 MODEL YEARS. I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND READ THEM OFF MY VIN # AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED. I ASKED WHY AND WAS TOLD RECALLS ARE BASED OFF OF VIN # NOT WHAT WAS PRINTED IN THE LETTER. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR AND THEY WOULD NOT GIVE CONNECT ME TO ONE BUT WOULD HAVE ONE CALL ME BACK. I CALLED BACK AND FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE ON 2/19/14. WE WORK VERY HARD FOR OUR MONEY AND TO HAVE CHRYSLER NOT COVER OUR CAR IS UPSETTING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I IT IS BEING IGNORED. *TR
WHEN I ACCELERATE FROM A STOP (AT A RED LIGHT TO GREEN) AND "GO" BEFORE I REACH 10MPH.. THE CAR SUDDENLY PAUSES AND SHAKES (AS THOUGH IT'S SHIFTING IN GEAR AND GETS STUCK IN A LOW GEAR) AND IS NOT SMOOTH BUT SHAKES THE WHOLE CAR. *TR ALSO, ON THE HIGHWAY....THE CAR WOULD SUDDENLY GO INTO LOW GEAR...AND (AGAIN, I DON'T HAVE STICK SHIFT) I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR AND I CAN HEAR THE ENGINE BURNING.... CAUSE I CAN'T GO OVER 25 MPH. SO I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THE FRONT BUMPER HAS A SILVER PLATE AT THE CORNERS OF THE FRONT CAR. I HAVE REPLACED IT 3 TIMES CAUSE IT FALLS OFF....SO ANNOYING!!!!!!!! WORSE THAN A WHEEL RIM PLATE FALLING OFF. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH. THE FAILURE RECURRED FREQUENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE CYLINDERS WERE FAULTY. THE IGNITION COILS AND SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE LOOSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 04V113000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM)). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD EXHIBIT A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE ONCE STARTED. THE CONTACT DID NOT NOTIFY THE DEALER OR THE MANUFACTURER OF THE ISSUE. A LOCAL MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 85,700.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS COMPLETELY CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION EXHIBITED SEVERE HESITATION IN A JERKING MOTION AND AFTER A FEW MOMENTS THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE AND HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
I TOOK MY CARE INTO THE SEAR AUTO CENTER IN ANNAPOLIS, MD FOR A TUNE UP AND ALSO ASKED THEM TO CHECK FOR THE KNOCKING NOISE UNDER MY HOOD AS IS WAS AFFECTING MY STEERING AND MAKING THE CAR HARD TO STEER WHEN GOING AROUND CURVES. I WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT END SUSPENSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BADLY AS THE PARTS WERE SEVERELY RUSTED. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO LEAVE THE CAR AT THE FACILITY OVERNIGHT AS THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS REMOVING THE OLD PARTS DUE TO HEAVY CORROSION ON THE OLD PARTS AND IT WOULD TAKE MORE TIME TO GET THE PARTS OFF AND REPLACE THEN WITH NEW PARTS. IN DECEMBER OF 2011, I PURCHSED NEW TIRES AND WAS ALSO TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO PURCHSE NEW WHEELS BECAUSE THE CURRENT WHEELS ON THE VEHICLE WERE STARTING TO RUST. IN SEPTEMBER, I HAD MY BRAKE PADS REPLACED AND WAS ALSO TOLD THAT I NEEDED NEW ROTORS BECAUSE THOSE WERE ALSO RUSTING. I DO NOT LIVE IN A FLOOD ZONE, NOR HAVE I EVER HAD MY CAR IN A FLOOD. I WAS MADE AWARE OF A RECALL BY CHRYSLER YESTERDAY OF ITS 2004-2005 JEEP BRAND DUE TO CORROSION AND WANTED TO SUBMIT THIS AS THERE MAY ALSO ME CHRYSLERS SUCH AS MINE THAT HAVE HAD CORROSION ISSUES FROM NORMAL USAGE. A FEW YEARS AGO, I ALSO HAD TO HAVE THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SERVICED DUE TO A LEAK AND THIS MAY HAVE ALSO BEEN DUE TO CORROSION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, HE HEARD A CLICKING SOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE TIE ROD AND THE SPRINGS. THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CRADLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS RUSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
THE FUEL TANK IS UNABLE TO TAKE FUEL. IT SEEMS LIKE THERE MAY BE SOMETHING STOPPING THE FUEL FROM ENTERING THE TANK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 74,000. BEING IN THE DIESEL /AUTOMOTIVE FIELD FOR MORE THAN 25 YEARS I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS ROTTING FROM THE INSIDE OUT. I DO ALL MY OWN SERVICE WORK ON ALL MY VEHICLES AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN THE SUB-FRAME ON ANY VEHICLE CORRODE THE WAY THIS VEHICLE HAD. LARGE RUSTED OUT HOLES IN THE CROSS MEMBERS AND SUB-FRAME. LIKE EVERYONE ELSE WITH THIS ISSUE, I DID A BUNCH OF RESEARCH BOTH ON THE INTERNET AND TALKING WITH THE DEALER AND FOUND OUT THAT CHRYSLER DID ISSUE A TSB ON THIS PROBLEM. THE TSB ONLY COVERS VEHICLES IN THE NORTH REGION AND ONLY IN SALT LADEN STATES. BUT WHAT REALLY BURNS ME IS THE BUILD DATES CHRYSLER ONLY WILL COVER. CHRYSLER WILL ONLY COVER VEHICLES BUILT FROM APPROXIMATELY FEBRUARY TO MARCH 2004, AND IF YOUR CAR IS OUTSIDE THAT WINDOW, TOO BAD. IN MY OPINION MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, SO NOW I HAVE A CAR THAT DECORATES MY DRIVEWAY. CHRYSLER WILL NOT COVER ANYTHING BECAUSE OF WHEN MY CAR WAS BUILT AS COMPARED TO THE BUILD WINDOW. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT CHRYSLER HAS KNOWN ABOUT FOR A WHILE AND SHOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I FEEL CHRYSLER IS GIVING THEIR CUSTOMERS THE SHAFT WITH A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE. WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE OR GET SERIOUSLY INURED BEFORE OEM'S ACTUALLY TAKE CARE OF A SERIOUS ISSUE LIKE THIS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYLSER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT ENGINE MOUNT CRADLE, WHICH HELD THE ENGINE IN PLACE, WAS FRACTURED. WHILE HAVING THE VEHICLE EXAMINED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE MECHANIC NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE MOUNT CRADLE WAS RUSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR EXPENSES. THERE WERE NO RECALLS OR WARRANTIES ADDRESSING THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS I WILL BE DRIVING MY CAR AND IT WILL JUST STALL OUT COMPLETELY. I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER MY CAR. THERE IS NO INCLINATION THAT IT IS EVEN GOING TO HAPPEN. I HAVE ALMOST WRECKED MY CAR. AT HIGHER SPEEDS MY CAR JERKS AND STUTTERS AND WILL RANDOMLY SHUT OFF TOO. I WILL BE STOPPING TO MAKE A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN AND MY CAR WILL STALL OUT AND I HAVE ALMOST WRECKED MY CAR WITH MY FOUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR!!!!!!! I SEE THERE IS A RECALL ON SOME CHRYSLER PACIFICA'S FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM, BUT FOR SOME REASON IT IS NOT ON MINE AND IT IS A MAJOR ISSUE!!! I AM VERY CONCERNED WITH MY FAMILY'S SAFETY WHEN DRIVING MY CAR.
DASH HEATER CONTROL PANEL--LAMPS FOR SEVERAL FUNCTIONS HAVE CEASED WORKING--BLOWER FAN, AIR CONDITIONING, CIRCULATION/RECIRCULATION, FRONT WINDOW DEFROST AND REAR WINDOW DEFROST MAKING ADJUSTMENTS OR CHANGES AT NIGHT IMPOSSIBLE. THERE IS NO WAY TO CHANGE BULBS ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER SERVICE/SHOP MANUAL. ADDITIONALLY, THE FUNCTION STATUS (LED) PANEL FADES OUT LEAVING NO INFORMATION FOR WHAT FUNCTION IS WORKING, OR WHAT THE STATUS IS, THUS MAKING CHANGES IMPOSSIBLE AT ANYTIME. INABILITY TO CONTROL ENVIRONMENT--SPECIFICALLY THE FUNCTIONS CONCERNING VISIBILITY MAKE THE VEHICLE A HAZARD TO DRIVE WHEN THE CONTROLS ARE INOPERATIVE OR IMPOSSIBLE TO USE. *TR
2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TAKEN TO MECHANIC AFTER PURCHASING USED WITH 69,500 MILES FOR "CLUNKING" NOISE IN FRONT-END. REPLACED PARTS INCLUDED: SWAY BAR LINKAGES, TIE ROD ENDS, AND STRUTS AND MOUNTS ALL OF WHICH NEEDED REPLACING. BUT THE NOISE WAS STILL THERE. THE MECHANIC THEN USED A TOOL HE CALLED "CHASSIS EARS" TO PINPOINT THE SOURCE OF THE NOISE. HE FOUND THAT THE SUBFRAME (ENGINE CRADLE) WAS RUSTED AT THE POINT THAT IT MOUNTS TO THE BODY, JUST UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER-SIDE FLOORBOARD. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION RUST WAS APPARENT ON THE DRIVERS-SIDE ALSO. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE!!! THE ENTIRE FRONT-END OF THE VEHICLE INCLUDING: ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, AND ALL FRONT-END SUSPENSION AND STEERING IS HELD IN PLACE BY THIS SUBFRAME (ENGINE CRADLE). WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THIS TOTALLY FAILS WHILE DRIVING WITH SIX PEOPLE IN THE VEHICLE? WHY HAS THIS NOT BECOME A MANDATORY SAFETY RECALL? DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO GET KILLED BEFORE THIS GETS SOMEONES ATTENTION? THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AS CAN BE SEEN BY THIS WEBSITE. NHTSA PLEASE HELP!!! *TR
AFTER OWNING MY 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFIA FOR 7 YEARS, I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER, DURING A ROUTINE OILCHANGE, THAT THE SUBFRAME IS RUSTED OUT AND WOULDNT LAST MUCH LONGER. THERE ARE TWO RUST HOLES IN THE FRAME STRUCTURE ON THE LEFT SIDE AND MORE FORMING ON THE RIGHT SIDE ON THE HEIGHT OF THE WHEELS. REPLACING THE SUBFRAME (WHICH HOLDS THE MOTOR IN PLACE) WOULD COST ABOUT +$4000!! I HAVE ALWAYS TAKING EXCELLENT CARE OF THIS CAR. IT IS IN GREAT SHAPE INSIDE AND OUT - EXCEPT THE FRAME. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE I HAVE FOUND THAT I AM NOT ALONE. THERE IS A MULITUDE OF 2004 CHRYSLER OWNERS HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS I DO. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BY CHRYSLER. A SUBFRAME IS SUPOSE TO LAST LONGER THEN 7 YEARS! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 50 MPH WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED SHAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE SUB FRAME WAS CORRODED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 154,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 156,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUB FRAME WAS RUSTED AND CRACKED UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NO WARRANTY FOR THE SUB FRAME. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 115,017.
THE FRONT SUB FRAME OR ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTED THROUGH AND IS NO LONGER SUITABLE FOR ITS INTENDED PURPOSE CAUSING A SAFETY INSPECTION FAILURE. *TR
VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN TO DEALER DUE TO EXCESSIVE NOISE WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED HARD FOR SUDDEN STOPS. WERE TOLD THAT THE SUBFRAME IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR IS RUSTED OUT AND WILL COST ABOUT $3,000 TO REPAIR. CAR IS GARAGE-KEPT AND WASHED REGULARLY, AND ONLY HAS 75,000 MILES. *TT
I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR ANNUAL INSPECTION TODAY....OMG.....IT'S UNINSPECTABLE.....TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.....THERE ARE HOLES IN THE FRONT SUB FRAME, REAR BUSHINGS ARE GONE IN REAR SUB FRAME AND THE ROCKERS HAVE HOLES IN THEM.....THE ENGINE MAY WELL FALL OUT.....! THIS CAR HAS ONLY 113,000 MILES ON IT.....HAS BEEN REGULARLY MAINTAINED AND NOW, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET TO WORK?? $ 2944 QUOTED FOR NEW PARTS AND MORE THAN $1000 FOR LABOR TO FIX.....ALL OF THESE OTHER OWNER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE EXACT SAME THING TELL ME CHRYSLER IS RIPPING OFF IT'S CONSUMERS....MY UNDERSTANDING IS THE METAL IS SO VERY THIN - THIN ENOUGH TO BARELY SUPPORT THE ENGINE EVEN WITHOUT ANY RUST!! THIS IS CRIMINAL ON CHRYSLER'S PART......THEY KNOW THIS IS A PROBLEM AND DO NOTHING???? FRONT SUBFRAME ( ENGINE CRADLE ) HAS APPROXIMATELY 3 INCH RUST HOLE ON RIGHT SIDE OF MAIN MEMBER NEAR THE TOP BEHIND OIL PAN . RUST HOLE ORIGINATED FROM THE INSIDE OF THE SUBFRAME. THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY 7 YEARS OLD AND THIS IS A CRITICAL SUPPORT COMPONENT FOR THE STEERING, SUSPENSION, AND ENGINE THAT IS NOW STRUCTURALLY COMPROMISED . I BELIEVE THIS TO BE CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT OF THE SUBFRAME. NO VEHICLE SHOULD RUST OUT THIS SOON. I HAVE FOUND MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON NUMEROUS WEBSITES. HAVE REPORTED PROBLEM TO LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP, MILLER BROS. IN MARTINSBURG, WV, AND ALSO TO CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE. WAS ADVISED BY DEALER SERVICE MANAGER THAT HE HAD HEARD OF THE PROBLEM, BUT HAD NOT SEEN THIS ISSUE HIMSELF AND THAT MY WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED AND THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING. MOTOR MOUNTS HAVE SNAPPED AND BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES SINCE PURCHASE! BODY IS TOO HEAVY FOR THE FRAME. NOW LOUD THUDS AT BRAKING AND ACCELERATING. ALWAYS HAVE HAD A FUELING ISSUE. HAD FUEL PUMPS, SENDING UNITS, LINES, FUEL FILLER NOZZLE, EVERYTHING BUT THE TANK REPLACED. FUEL GAUGE DROPS TO EMPTY EVEN WITH FUEL, WHEN TRYING TO FUEL IT WILL NOT ALLOW IT PUMP WILL SHUT OFF. USUALLY STARTS TO DO THIS WHEN GAS MILEAGE IS UNDER 200 REMAINING. SO FRUSTRATING. YET CHRYSLER DENIES EVER HAVING HEARD OF THESE ISSUES! 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WITH 117,250 MILES EXPERIENCING SEVERE RUST AND DETERIORATION IN THE REAR SUSPENSION SUBFRAME. THE MOUNTING POINT OF THE REAR SHOCKS TO THE SUBFRAME IS ALMOST COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH. TWO MECHANICS HAVE TOLD ME THAT SUCH RUST SHOULD NOT BE EXPECTED ON SUCH A YOUNG VEHICLE. MANY HERE HAVE MENTIONED THE FRONT ENGINE CRADLE RUSTING THROUGH. I'M EXPERIENCING THE SAME TYPE OF RUST ISSUE BUT IN THE BACK. MY MECHANIC SAYS THE CAR IS GETTING TO THE UNSAFE TO DRIVE AREA! MY TIRES, WHICH ARE NOT DEFECTIVE NOR WORN KEEPING LOOSING AIR CAUSING THE TPMS SENOR TO COME ON. AFTER TAKING IT IN MANY TIMES TO GET AIR I WAS TOLD THE TPMS SENOR WAS BAD ON ONE TIRE AND THERE WAS CORROSION AROUND THE WHEEL. I REPLACED IT AND HAD SEALANT PUT AROUND THE CORROSION. 1ST TIME: DRIVING STRAIGHT AROUND 20-45 MPH WHEN ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON & ENGINE STARTED ACTING UP. STOPPED SHORTLY AT A STOP LIGHT & ENGINE DIED. MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS: SOMETIMES ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AS WE ARE STOPPING OR DECELERATING OR TURNING LEFT AFTER A STOP LIGHT CHANGES. ENGINE THEN ACTS UP & SUBSEQUENTLY DIES SHORTLY AFTER THAT. AFTER A FEW MINUTES WE ARE ABLE TO START IT & DRIVE IT HOME OR TO THE DEALER. BOTH THE AUTO MECHANIC'S & AT THE CHRYSLER DEALER'S DIAGNOSTIC MACHINES IDENTIFIED FAULT CODE "P0508 IAC CIRCUIT LOW" & TOLD US WE HAD TO CHANGE OUT THE IDLE CONTROL MOTOR (CHRYSLER PART # 4593851-AA). WE HAVE HAD THIS PART CHANGED OUT & THE THROTTLE BODY CLEANED TWICE NOW WITH NO RESOLUTION OF THE PROBLEM. WE ALSO HAVE NOTICED ON OCCASION WHEN WE HAVE OUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE AT A STOP, THE ENGINE MAY ARBITRARILY RACE FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS. FORTUNATELY OUR FOOT IS ON THE BRAKE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. *TR
