ENGINE CRADLE RUSTED OUT! Safety risk. Had replaced. NEVER TOLD BY CHRYSLER THAT IT WOULD RUST OUT. NOW THE STEERING WHEEL WON’T MOVE! Power steering fluid full. CANNOT DRIVE IT. I’M A 72YO WOMAN WITH CANCER, NO FAMILY, CANNOT AFFORD EXPENSIVE REPAIRS. I NEED MY CAR REPAIRED.
Engine cradle,motor mount and sub frame completely rotted out. structural integrity at a total loss. Vehicle is no longer road worthy. This problem Chrysler is continuing to ignore is definitely Hazardous for other vehicles and their occupants if catastrophic failure of the above named components were to occur while driving even at normal operating speeds. How many complaints have to be made about this failure of design before something is done? how many people have to endure hardship over loss of transportation due to having repairs done, figuring out ways to cover costs or total loss of vehicle how many people have to be injured due to the problems this vehicle comes with? This problem is not just a few vehicles. It's pretty much every one made within the time period. Something has to be done about this. It's been a problem put in front of your and their face with nothing done and no accountability taken for way too long. It's time for you to do what you are here to do. Safety right? Then do it. This is not the last you will hear about this matter. From me or the thousands of othe Chrysler Pacifica owners nationwide. I myself refuse to go quietly into the dark night. The contact called and informed several dealers of the failure and was informed that there was a defect with the power train. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 73,000.
Driving normally when vehicle shut off and rear of engine burst into flame. It seems multiple people have had this problem.

The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated upon attempting to reverse out of the garage into the driveway, the gear shifter remained seized in park(P). There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the gear shifter assembly needed to be replaced. However, the parts to repair the vehicle were not available. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the parts had been discontinued. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
My engine in my car just shut down in the middle of driving. I was told it was a recall and was fixed yrs ago but it has happened 3 times since. Twice after getting gas and one time driving in the school parking lot. Lost all control of power steering and time of engine trouble. Car started back up and engine light came on and went back of and back on. Also smelt burning wires but couldn’t find anything
the drivers seat adjusted ITSELF all the way in the reclining position and will not move back. It is a safety hazard ..difficult to drive....we have not had it looked at yet...we just purchased the car a few weeks ago from a car dealer.
Like other Pacificas 2004-10 my front subframe is rusting away. The repair cost will be $1500.00 if I am lucky. Please help!

I HAVE HAD TWO PACIFICAS 2004 AND 2005 BOTH DID THE EXACT SAME THING. STARTED WITH AN ODOR OF EXHAUST OR FUMES OF SOME SORT IN THE SAME WEEK. IT LOST POWER, OVERHEATED, HAD TO PULLED HOME. WOULD START IF COLD FOR SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. IN LESS THAN THE SAME WEEK. WENT TO HAVE SOMEONE WORK ON IT AND THE BATTERY WAS DEAD WHERE I HAD TRIED TO START IT TO MANY TIMES/ MY FAULT. HOWEVER AS SOON AS IT GOT CONNECTION THE KEY WASNT EVEN IN THE SWITCH AND THE MOTOR WAS ROLLING OVER. THAT ONE SAT AT THAT TIME. FOUND 05 WITHIN A WEEK OR TWO AND FIGURED ONE FOR PARTS IF BREAK DOWN. NOTHING AT ALL WRONG STARTING OUT. ONLY DROVE THE 05 APPRX 3MONTHS AND STARTED THE EXACT SAME THING FROM ODOR TO OVERHEATING AND I DO NOT KNOW ALOT ABOUT VEHICLES BUT SEEMS TO HAVE JUMPED TIME. HOWEVER I AM A SINGLE WOMAN AND DO NOT CARRY A LICENSE MECHANIC AND IM NOW STRANDED WITH NO VEHICLE TO GET AROUND WHILE I HAVE TWO PACIFICAS SEEM SAME ISSUES JUST DROVE ONE A LITTLE LONGER. I bought a 2005 Chrysler Pacific 3 weeks ago from a dealership.. Engine light came on and car was stalling when I was at a light. Took to a shop to get checked it was 2 censer's.but afterwards still light was on. They checked further the motor mounts and subframe are rusted bad. To a point dangerous.! Of course the place I bought it at refuses to do anything. Not happy!

THE ENGINE CRADLE IS ROTTED AND THE ENGINE MAY FALL OUT. I'VE READ WHAT OTHER PEOPLE HAD SAID AND IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF AND IS A EXTREMELY SERIOUS ISSUE AND TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE IS NOT CHEAP ALSO. PLEASE HELP ME

THE CONTACT ACTIVATED THE HAZARD LIGHT AND VEERED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND DRIVEN FOR SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO REGISTER THE CORRECT LEVEL OF FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V432000 (POWER TRAIN) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 182,435.

THE CONTACT CALLED LOCAL DEALER JOHN JONES AUTO GROUP CORYDON LOCATED AT 1735 GARDNER LN NW, CORYDON, IN 47112, (812) 722-4146, AND THE DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.
THE FRAME HAS RUSTED THROUGH. THE ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTED. CHRYSLER ADMITS THERE IS A PROBLEM BUT REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. CHRYSLER HAD A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE AND THEN CANCELLED THE RECALL. THERE WAS ALSO A LAWSUIT FILED, THAT WAS DISMISSED DUE TO CHRYSLER'S BANKRUPTCY.
FOUND OUT THAT MY FRONT SUB FRAME/ENGINE CRADLE IS BADLY CORRODED AND FULL OF HOLES AFTER HAVING MY TIRES CHANGED.
2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING HAS RUSTED ENGINE CRADLE. FOR SOME REASON THIS CAR IS NOT COVERED FOR THE RECALL BUT IT CLEARLY IS AFFECTED BY WHAT EVER THE MANUFACTURER FAILED TO COMPLETE ON CAR TO ENSURE IT WOULD REMAIN SAFE. I HAVE A BIG WHOLE AND MOTOR COULD FALL OUT. I NEED HELP ON TRYING TO GET EXPENSIVE ITEM PAID FOR. THE SUSPENSION IS HORRIBLE ALL ISSUES JUST NOT A GOOD CAR AT ALL.
ENGINE CRADLE ROTTED THROUGH. FIRESTONE TELLS ME IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
THERE IS A DEFAULT WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR. THERE ARE FIVE MORE CHRYSLER PACIFICAS THAT I KNOW OF WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
I HAVE TO COMPLETELY REPLACE THE UNDER CARRIAGE/FRAME OF MY CHRYSLER PACIFICA DUE TO IT CORRODING & RUSTING OUT THE PASSENGER WHEEL FRAMEWORK. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD SEEING AS IF A LARGE POTHOLE WAS HIT OR AN IMMEDIATE BRAKING WERE NEEDED THE ENTIRE TIRE COULD SNAP OFF & CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT. I AM FEARFUL TO DRIVE MY CAR.
CAR LOSES POWER AND CUTS OFF DUE TO PCM AND FUEL SYSTEM
THIS IS THE SECOND 2005 PACIFIC THAT THE ROCKER UNDER THE CAR IS CRACKED AND RUSTED AWAY. I TOOKBTHE CAR INTO MONROE ON JONESTOWN RD HARRISBURG PA AND THEY EXPLAINED TO ME THAT IT IS SO RUSTED THAT THE MOTOR WILL FALL OUT AND THEY WOULDN'T EVEN DO AN OIL CHANGE FOR ME BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO DAMAGE IT ANY FARTHER.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A CHRYSLER DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 157,000.
CRADLE UNDER CAR THAT HOLDS MOTOR IN IS ALL RUSTED OUT WE WERE TOLD NOT TO DRIVE CAR BECAUSE IT IS RUSTED OUT SO BAD THE MOTOR COULD FALL OUT AS I LOOK UP ON INTERNET I SEE OTHERS WITH SAME PROBLEM WHY DID THIS NOT CALL FOR A RECALL ON THESE CARS
THE MOTOR MINT BROKE OUT OF NOWHERE. NO EXPLANATION. THIS IS THE SECOND CHRYSLER THAT THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO. AND CAN'T FIND THE SCREWS TO FIX IT.
THE VEHICLE IS STUCK IN PARK. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER IS BROKEN (SMALL PINK PLASTIC PIECE THAT ATTACHES TO A SPRING). THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT FROM PARK TO REVERSE, NEUTRAL, DRIVE, ETC.

THE DEALER (TRINITY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1550 W SPRINGFIELD RD, TAYLORVILLE, IL 62568, (217) 824-3377) RESEARCHED THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER NO LONGER MADE THE PART FOR THE SUBFRAME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE PLACED ON A LIFT TO ASSESS THE DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR SUBFRAME WAS RUSTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
I PURCHASED A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA FROM PRIME AUTO SALES ON 10/19/18 FOR $4573.13. ON 8/24/19 I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MIDAS TO HAVE BRAKES INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE. MIDAS DID NOT EVEN WANT TO PUT THE BRAKES ON THE CAR, BECAUSE THEY SAY THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE IS COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT AND I SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A DEALERSHIP TO SELL UNSAFE VEHICLES WITH THIS MUCH FRAME DAMAGE. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT HAPPENS OVERNIGHT. THEY HAD TO KNOW THIS WHEN THEY SOLD ME THE VEHICLE. ALSO THEY MISLED ME WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR BY SAYING THAT IT WAS AN ALL-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS NOT. NOW, NOT ONLY AM I PAYING A CAR LOAN BUT BECAUSE I HAVE A LOAN I AM REQUIRED TO CARRY FULL-COVERAGE INSURANCE ON A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT EVEN SAFE FOR MY FAMILY TO RIDE IN.
HEAD LIGHTS CUT OFF AND ON INTERMITTENTLY ENGINE IDLES RUFF

THE CONTACT CALLED TWO DEALERS, INCLUDING DICK SCOTT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM AT 734-451-2110 (LOCATED AT 684 ANN ARBOR RD W, PLYMOUTH, MI 48170) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS ON BACKORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 161,000.
WHEN YOU HIT THE BRAKES A NOISE COMES OUT OF THE REAR BRAKES (MORE ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE) AND I FEEL A SMALL VIBRATION ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHEN I LET GO OF THE PEDAL THE NOISE STOPS.THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING AND IS WORSE IF YOU PULLING A TRAILER AT 50 TO 60 MPH. IT'S BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I GOT THE CAR 6/15/2019.
GAS TANK JUMPS TO EMPTY WHEN IT REACHES HALF A TANK. FUEL NOT BEING TRANSMITTED PROPERLY AND CAUSES THE CAR TO STOP RUNNING

THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST HAD NOT YET BEEN PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,000.
TOOK TO GET A WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND THEY SAID IT WAS A CRACKED FRAMED AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALWAYS ON SAYING A FUSE
I AM THE SOLE OWNER OF MY 2005 PACIFICA, BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AND HAVE HAD IT SERVICED BY THE SAME CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP SINCE I BOUGHT IT. I BROUGHT IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE ON FEB. 19, 2019 AND WAS INFORMED THE ENGINE CROSSMEMBER IS RUSTED OUT AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT ASAP. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NEVER MENTIONED THIS PREVIOUSLY, AND THEY HAVE CHANGED OIL EVERY 3-4 MONTHS FOR 14 YEARS. AFTER RECEIVING THE NEWS, I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND CHRYSLER (AS WELL AS THE DEALERSHIP) HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS FOR YEARS AND HAS NOT SAID ANYTHING. REPAIR COST IS ESTIMATED AT $3,000. I HAVE GARAGE KEPT THIS CAR SINCE I PURCHASED IT AND IT LOOKS IS IN GREAT CONDITION, BOTH INSIDE AND OUT, UNTIL YOU LOOK UNDER THE CAR.

I REPLACED ENGINE CRADLE ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO FROM TODAY'S DATE 2/18/19 AN BEEN DEALING WITH THIS STEERING ISSUE FOR THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS NOW AN ILL REPLACE THE HOSE ONCE AGAIN TODAY 2/18/19 WHICHAM COST ME AN MY WIFE A DAY OFF WORK VARY DISAPPOINTED WITH HOW CHRYSLER DEALS WITH SAFETY ISSUES
I HAVE AN 05 CHRYSLER PACIFICA THAT IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR I WAS INFORMED THAT I NEEDED MOTOR MOUNTS, AFTER TAKING IT TO A COUPLE OF MECHANICS TO SEE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS I WAS TOLD TO REPLACE THE MOTOR MOUNTS WOULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE AREA OF $800 TO $1,200 , SO MY PACIFICA SAT ALL WINTER. AFTER CHECKING AROUND SOME OF MY FRIENDS TOLD ME THEY KNEW OF A MECHANIC WHO WOULD BE ABLE TO DO IT PROVIDED I BOUGHT THE PARTS ONLINE. I FOUND THE PARTS ONLINE FOR UNDER $100 FOR FOUR MOTOR MOUNTS I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT THIS SUMMER WITH THE MECHANIC TO HAVE THEM INSTALLED, HE WAS ABLE TO INSTALL THREE OF THE FOUR MOTOR MOUNTS HE WAS NOT ABLE TO INSTALL THE FOURTH ONE BECAUSE OF RUST DAMAGE TO THE SUBFRAME OR ENGINE CRADLE.I CALLED CHRYSLER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO HELP ME THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED TO GET IN TOUCH WITH MY DEALER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING.I WENT TO MY DEALER EXPLAINED MY SITUATION THEY NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT THE CAR AND TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BEING THAT MY CAR WAS NOT MANUFACTURED IN CANADA AND WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, (HAVE A NICE DAY) AND SENT ME ON MY WAY.MY CAR HAS JUST UNDER 115000 MILES ON IT AND STILL FAIRLY GOOD SHAPE. I'M RETIRED ON SS CAN'T AFFORD A NEW OR USED CAR OR TRADE IT IN BECAUSE IT'S THERE'S NOT MUCH VALUE ON A 15-YEAR OLD CAR WITH JUST UNDER 115000 MILES ON IT. I LIVE IN NORTHERN NJ WITH SALTY WINTER ROADS WHICH IS WHY I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY MY CAR NOT BEING MANUFACTURED IN CANADA HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT.
THE 2005 CHRYSTLER PACIFICA WAS TRAVELING 35 MPH IN THE WINTER ON A PAVED ROAD WHEN IT JUST DIED NO WARNING. I THEN HOOKED IT UP TO MY FOXWELL NT630 ELITE OBD2 SCANNER IT DETECTED CODES P0340, P2066, P0700, & P0461 CODE P0340 CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR A CIRCUIT BANK 1 OR SINGLE SENSOR (PART REPLACED). CODE P2066 FUEL LEVEL SENSOR B (PERFORMANCE). CODE P0700 TRANSMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM. CODE P0461 FUEL LEVEL SENSOR A (RANGE/PERFORMANCE) NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V432000 MANUFACTURER DAIMLERCHRYSLER CORPORATION COMPONENTS POWER TRAIN POTENTIAL NUMBER OF UNITS AFFECTED 127,928 SUMMARY: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE FUEL PUMP MODULE AND THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) SOFTWARE MAY ALLOW THE ENGINE TO STALL UNDER CERTAIN OPERATING CONDITIONS. MY 2005 VEHICLES BUILT IN AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER OF 2004 ARE BEING RECALLED TO CORRECT A DEFECT IN THE SECONDARY FUEL PUMP MODULES, WHICH MAY HAVE AN IMPROPER PRESS FITTING ON THE INLET THAT CAN BECOME DISLODGED AND SHUT-OFF FUEL FLOW. ALL MY 2005-2006 VEHICLES BUILT BETWEEN JULY 8, 2004 AND NOVEMBER 11, 2005 ARE BEING RECALLED TO CORRECT A POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) SOFTWARE ISSUE WITH THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS SYSTEM WHICH CAN ALSO CAUSE STALLING. TAKATA RECALL THE CAR LURCHES FORWARD AND BANGS WHEN STOPPED, ALSO WHILE STOPPED THE CAR REGISTERS 20MPH. WHEN DRIVING SPEED REACHES 60MPH THE CAR HAS POWER SURGES AND SHUTTERS, THE CAR MAKES A LOUD WHINING NOISE WHILE DRIVING LIKE IT IS STUCK IN HIGH GEAR. THE CAR HAS A HIGH RPM SPEED OF 4-6RPMS WHILE DRIVING. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AT ALL TIMES.
RECENTLY BOUGHT A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE I DISCOVERED THAT THERE HAS BEEN THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ENGINE CRADLE RUSTING OUT DUE TO CHRYSLER IMPROPERLY COATING THE FRAMEWORK. I NATURALLY WENT OUT TO LOOK AT MINE TO MAKE SURE IT DID NOT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE FOR A FAMILY VEHICLE AND NOW DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT WITH MY 4 CHILDREN AND CANNOT AFFORD THE REPAIRS AS MY SAVINGS WAS USED TO PURCHASE SAID VEHICLE. ONE WOULD THINK AFTER THOUSANDS OF SUCH DANGEROUS CLAIMS THAT THE NHTSA WOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS
TOOK THE CAR IN FOR EXHAUST WORK. THE MECHANIC DID A SAFETY INSPECTION AND TOLD ME THE SUB FRAME IS SEVERELY RUSTED OUT, AND SHOULD BE REPLACED SOON. IF NOT ADDRESSED SOON IT COULD BECOME A SAFETY HAZARD, DUE TO LACK OF DRIVER CONTROL ISSUES.
"TAKATA RECALL" MY ENTIRE UNDERCARRIAGE HAS COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT THE MUFFLER FELL OFF AND THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE FRAME TO THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR RUSTED OUT AND ARE HANGING THERE UNCONNECTED.THE MECHANIC PUT HIS FINGERS RIGHT THROUGH THE MOTOR MOUNT AND EXPLAINED THAT MY CAR ..AFTER I HAVE MADE MY LAST PAYMENT IS UNDRIVABLE. WE DO NOT IVE IN A STATE THAT HAS SALT ON THE ROADS AND MY CAR IS HOUSED IN A GARAGE AT ALL TIMES.THE REPAIRS ARE OVER 4800. I CANNOT SELL IT AS IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE MECHANIC EXPLAINED IF THE CAR WAS DRIVING FAST ENOUGH AND A BUMP WAS HIT THE MOTOR WOULD COME UP INTO THE DRIVER AND FRONT SEAT KILLING ANYONE IN IT NOT TO MENTION OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. I LOVE MY CAR AND AM VERY SAD THAT THIS PROBLEM ISNT ON THE RECALL LIST AS OTHER PACIFIA OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES ONCE IT HITS 100K MIES.
