I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE MECHANIC TO HAVE THE WATER PUMP REPLACED WHICH HE DID. BUT HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE CRADLE HOLDING THE ENGINE IN WAS ALL RUSTED OUT. AND THAT THE ENGINE COULD JUST FALL OUT AT ANY MOMENT. AND THAT THE CAR WOULD STOP I WOULD LOSE STEERING. HE DID SHOW ME HE PICTURES ON HIS PHONE. AND TOLD ME HE WOULD LOOK FOR A CRADLE FOR MY CAR. SO I WENT HOME TO CHECK THIS PROBLEM OUT ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT OTHER PACIFICA'S WERE HAVING THIS PROBLEM ALSO. SO I THINK CHRYSLER NEEDS TO COMPENSATE US AND GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED BEFORE SOMEBODY IS KILLED. LUCKILY MY MECHANIC LET ME KNOW THIS SO THAT I WOULD NOT BE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. AFTER REALIZING I COULD MAKE A COMPLAINT I ASK MY MECHANIC IF HE STILL HAD THE PICTURES ON HIS PHONE. NO HE DID NOT HE HAD DROPPED HIS PHONE IN THE WATER WHILE FISHING. BUT IF YOU LOOK ON THE INTERNET YOU WILL SEE OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM ALSO WITH THEIR PACIFICA'S. AND THERE ARE YOUTUBE VIDEO SHOWING HOW THIS MUST BE REPAIRED AND HOW TO PUT A NEW CRADLE ON TO THE PACIFIC. IT'S NOT AN EASY OR FUN JOB AND IT IS AN EXPENSIVE JOB IF YOU CAN FIND A CRADLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERGOING AN OIL CHANGE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FRAME RAIL WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED. KINGS DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (4486 KINGS WATER DR, CINCINNATI, OH 45249, (513) 683-3000) WAS CALLED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND AGREED WITH THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 220,000.
WE TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE MECHANIC NOTICED SEVERE RUSTING ALONG THE ENGINE CRADLE. THE MECHANIC SAID ITS ALMOST TO THE POINT OF BEING UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS THE ENGINE MAY DROP OUT OF IT. MY WIFE PURCHASED THIS CAR APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AGO FROM A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN. AT THE TIME IT HAD 41,000 MILES ON IT. TODAY IT HAS 60,000 MILES
EXESSIVE CRADLE ROT OR RUST HOLDING IP ENGINE. MAKES IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. CAN PUT MY HAND IN FRAME THROUGH RUST HOLE. THIS WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION BY NORTHGATE CHRYSLER ON COLERAIN IN CINCINNATI.THE SERVICE MANAGE SAYS SHE SEES A LOT OF THIS PROBLEM.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS INDEPENDENTLY TURNED OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING. A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. AFTER DOING A MAJOR REPAIR OF $800 ON MY CAR FOR A NEW WATER PUMP AND TIMING CHAIN. I WAS TOLD THAT MY CRADLE HOLDING THE ENGINE IN PLACE COULD DROP ANY MINUTE BECAUSE OF THE RUST. MY MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT HE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DRIVING THIS VEHICLEBECAUSE AT ANYTIME THE EGINE AND STERINGCOLOM COULD FALL OUT ANY MONENT.THE CRADLE HOLD THESE ITEMS IN WERE RUSTED OUT SO BAD.. I LOOKED ONLINE AND NOTICED THERE WAS MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THIS. LET'S GET SOMETHING DONE BEFORE SOMEONE DIES. THANK YOU MY MECHANIC TOKE PICTURES OF ALL THIS RUST. BUT I WAS UNABLE TO GET THEM. BUT I'M SURE I'M NOT THE FIRST TO COMPLAIN. PLEASE RECONSIDER THIS RECALL. THANK YOU.
TAKATA RECALL HI MY PACIFICA HAS EXPIERENCED THE VERY COMMON & DANGEROUS PROBLEM THE ENGINE CRADLE HAS RUSTED & ROTTED OUT. THIS IS A BIG ISSUE WITH THESE CARS & CAN BE DEADLY AS ONCE THE CRADLE ROTS COMPLETELY THE MOTOR FALLS OUT WHICH OBVIOUSLY ISNT SAFE. IVE DONE LOTS OF RESEARCH & HEARD MANY HORROR STORIES I'M CURRENTLY OUT OF A CAR UNTIL I CAN AFFORD THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX THIS. GOOGLE NOTED SOME STATES HAVE FILED LAWSUITS AGAINST CHRYSLER & IT HAS ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING. IVE OWNED THIS CAR 6 MONTHS & JUST CURIOUS IF THERES ANY HELP FOR ME.
I WAS TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD AND WAS TURNING SLIGHTLY AT A CURVE AT THE ROAD, I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 25-30 MPH AND THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. I DROVE OUT FROM CAR WASH I WAS GOING ABOUT 35MPH THEN I TURNED RIGHT ON TO THE FREEWAY SOON AS I REACHED 50MPH MY VEHICLE MADE A WEIRD NOISE AND SHUT OFF AS IM ON THE FREEWAY. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ON WHATSOEVER ALTHOUGH I GOT A "GAS CAP" MESSAGE. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED I HAD TO PULL OFF THE FREE WAY(NO ACCIDENT, THANKFULLY) THE BREAKS WERE HARD TO PUSH DOWN I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO LET IT ROLL THROUGH TRAFFIC I GOT TO A SAFE PLACE I PUT IT IN PARK WAITED ABOUT 30 MINUTES TO TRY STARTING IT, IT WOULD NOT START. SMOKE CAME OUT FROM BACK PASSENGER REAR TIRE. LET MY CAR SIT OVER NIGHT TRIED TO START IT THE NEXT MORNING, AGAIN IT WOULD NOT START. I HAD IT TOWED IT INTO SHOP THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM I HAD LEFT MY VEHICLE IN THE SHOP FOR A WEEK OTHER MECHANICS DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM. LATER THEY TOLD ME I NEED A WHOLE NEW ENGINE. I ONLY GOT TO DRIVE IT 2X BEFORE IT STALLED. I REALLY LIKE IT AND WISH I CAN GET IT FIXED I DO BELIEVE IT HAS TO DO WITH THE POWER TRAIN, FUEL PROPULSION, AND ENGINE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50-60 MPH, THE CONTACT FELT AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE IN THE LANE WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR AN ALIGNMENT AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS SEVERELY CORRODED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT DUE TO THE CORROSION. A DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FOR AN UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER RECALL CONCERNING THE STRUCTURE; HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE DEALER (CONNOR CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 701 E PORTER AVE, CHESTERTON, IN 46304, 219-926-7100) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CRADLE FRAME UNDER THE VEHICLE WAS RUSTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. *TT CONSUMER STATED: TOOK MY CAR FOR OIL FAILURE LIGHT - AUTO REPAIR SHOP WOULD NOT WORK ON MY CAR BECAUSE THEY SAID MY SADDLE MOTOR SUPPORT WAS ROTTED OUT NAME OF SHOP IS PORTAGE TIRE & AUTO - 3520 SCOTSDALE ST PORTAGE, IN 46368. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA I GOT MY VEHICLE INTO THE SHOP TO HAVE THE AIR CONDITIONER FIXED. I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE SHOP TELLING ME MY VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE THAT THE SUBFRAME IN THE FRONT IS RUSTED THROUGH. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH PACIFICA ENGINE CRADLES THE COST TO FIX IT WILL BE 4,000 THAT'S WHAT I PAID FOR THE VEHICLE.
ENGINE CRADLE AND MOTOR MOUNTS ROTTED. POSSIBILITY OF ENGINE FALLING OUT IF NOT FIXED, I HAVE BEEN QUOTED $950 TO FIX BY CALLAHAN'S BRAKE AND MUFFLER SHOP IN PONTIAC, MI. VEHICLE WAS UNDER INSPECTION. I HAVE ALREADY INCURRED COST FROM THE SAME PROBLEM AND YET AGAIN HERE I AM LOOKING AT THE SAME ISSUE.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERGOING AN INSPECTION BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS SEVERELY CORRODED ALL THE WAY THROUGH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 185,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
CAR WAS STATIONARY IN RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY. TRANSMISION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE SIMPLE RELEASE MECHANISM DID NOT HELP. TOOK CONSOL APART. AS DESCRIBED ON YOUTUBE VIDEOS, COULD SEE THAT THE PINK PLASTIC PART WAS BROKEN SO SPRING DID NOT OPERATE. FOUND OPENING SO I COULD ROTATE THE PINK PART WITH FINGER AND GET OUT OF PARK. THIS PROBLEM SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE PROBLEMS COVERED BY RECALL K39, BUT MY MODEL IS APPARENTLY NOT COVERED. WHY IS IT NOT COVERED? SHOULD CHRYSLER COVER THE REPAIR?
SEVERELY RUSTED SUB FRAME. I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW. CHRYSLER HAS KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEM FOR YEARS BUT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED ME TO PERIODICALLY INSPECT THE SUB FRAME. IF A MECHANIC HADN'T NOTED THE HAZARD I WOULD BE IN GRAVE DANGER CONTINUING TO DRIVE THE CAR. WITH ONLY 35,000 MILES ON THE CAR, AND THE CAR LOOKING IN PRISTINE CONDITION, I NEVER EXPECTED THIS KIND OF PROBLEM.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE MECHANIC TO HAVE A REPAIR DONE. WHILE THERE THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE HAD COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT. HE INFORMED ME THAT DRIVING THE VEHICLE WAS QUITE DANGEROUS DUE TO THE CRADLE BEING SO RUSTED WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE ENGINE FALLING OUT OF THE CAR. AS THIS WAS SOMETHING QUITE DANGEROUS I CALLED CHRYSLER TO HAVE THEM HELP ME AND CHECK TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL. NOTHING WAS DONE.
MY MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT THE FRAME IS VERY BADLY RUSTED MAKING THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WHEN HE TRIED TO FIND A REPLACEMENT PART, QUICKLY FOUND OUT THAT THIS PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD ON THIS TYPE OF CAR FROM THE SAME YEAR. WE CANNOT DRIVE THIS CAR WITHOUT A $2500 REPAIR AND THE CAR IS ONLY WORTH ABOUT $4000. SO IT IS BASICALLY JUNK BECAUSE OF THE RUSTED FRAME.
MY SISTER TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE TO ADD FREON TO HAVE IT READY FOR THIS SUMMER.OUR MECHANIC DROVE THE CAR IN TOWN AND BACK TO HIS SHOP AND NOTICE A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM MY ENGINE. HE INSPECTED IT AND NOTICE THE MOTOR MOUNTS ARE VERY WORN OUT AND THE ENGINE CRADLE COVER WAS VERY LOOSE WHICH WOULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD IF I CONTINUE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE IN THAT CONDITION. ONCE HE WENT IN TO REPLACE THE MOUNT HE NOTICE THEY WERE IN VERY POOR QUALITY AND HAD NO SUPPORTED PADDING. AS IF THE PADDING WAS VERY POOR QUALITY AS TO WHY THEY WERE WORN OUT. I AM LUCKY OUR MECHANIC NOTICE THIS IF NOT IT WOULD OF JEOPARDIZE MY ROAD SAFETY IF I WOULD OF CONTINUE DRIVING IT. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON LINE AND NOTICE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND I TRULY BELIEVE THIS NEEDS TO BE OPEN AGAIN AND BE INVESTIGATED. I FIND CHRYSLER POOR JUDGEMENT OF NOT NOTIFYING THERE CUSTOMERS OF THEIR 2004-2005 PACIFICA OWNERS OF THIS ISSUE BESIDES THERE CORROSION ENGINE CRADLE COVERS RECALL ONLY FOR THE 2004 PACIFICA AND DISMISS THE 2005 PACIFICA YET AT THE TIME THEY WERE AWARE OF THE MOTOR MOUNTS POOR QUALITY AND DISMISSING THE ISSUE. WHEN YET IN FACT IS STILL A SAFETY ISSUE FOR THE 2005 PACIFICA OF HAVING POOR QUALITY MOTOR MOUNTS IN THERE VEHICLES AND KNOWING THEY HAD USED POOR QUALITY PRODUCTS AT THAT TIME. I DO BELIEVE THIS WOULD OF CAUSE MY OWN SAFETY IF MY MECHANIC DID NOT NOTICE THIS IN MY OWN VEHICLE. I WANT TO MAKE SURE NO ONE ELSE IS PUT IN THIS SITUATION FOR NOT KNOWING OF THIS ISSUE.I THINK A RECALL NEEDS TO BE IN PLACE ON THE MOTOR MOUNTS FOR THE 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA'S. IT WILL PREVENT ANY FUTURE OWNERS ROAD SAFETY IF THERE WERE ONE IN PLACE. I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT CHRYSLER DID NOT NOTIFY THIS TO ITS 2005 PACIFICA OWNERS OF THIS ROAD SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY (DRIVING 45 MI/HR), IT STOPPED MOVING ACCELERATING (SEEMS LIKE THE CAR IS ACTUALLY SLOWING DOWN) EVEN WHEN I WAS STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL. AND THEN THE CAR STALLED.......IT WAS A GOOD THING I WAS ON THE VERY RIGHT SIDE OF THE LANE. THE FUEL PUMP MODULE AND/OR THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) SOFTWARE MAY ALLOW THE ENGINE TO STALL UNDER CERTAIN OPERATING CONDITIONS, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. DEALERS WILL NEED TO REPROGRAM/REPLACE THE PCM/TCM AND/OR REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP MODULE TO CORRECT THIS CONCERN. IN MOST CASES, ASIDE FROM STALLING AND ENGINE REVVING UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN, THERE'S A LOT OF HARD JERKING WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE. IT SEEMS LIKE THE ENGINE HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN SINCE WHEN I ACCELERATE, THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE OR DELAY IN MOVING FORWARD AND IF I LET GO OF THE GAS, THE CAR MOVES FORWARD. IT'S A SAFETY CONCERN.
MY VEHICLES SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR A FEW MONTHS. I GOT THE VEHICLE SERVICED TWICE AND EACH TIME THE LIGHT WOULD NOT GO OFF. A NIGHT OR TWO AGO I WAS TRYING TO BACK MY VEHICLE AND IT WOULDN'T BACK I WAS ON A LEVELED SURFACE IN MY AUNT'S FRONT YARD. INSTEAD WHEN I WOULD PUT IT IN REVERSE IT WOULD CUT OFF EACH TIME. SO THANKFULLY I HAD ENOUGH ROOM IN FRONT OF ME TO PULL FORWARD. I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE ONLY PROBLEM BUT AS OF THIS MORNING I WAS DRIVING AND MY CAR CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD I WAS DRIVING ON LEVEL CONCRETE TURNING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. I THANK GOD THAT THERE WASN'T A CARECOMING UP BEHIND ME. SO NOW I'M DEALING WITH A CAR THAT CAN'T BACK OR DRIVE WITHOUT CUTTING OFF.
MY SUB FRAME IS RUSTING OUT TO THE POINT THAT I'M CONCERNED OF THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE.
MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA STARTED MAKING NOISE IN FRONT PASSENGER SIDE IN THE SUSPENSION AND WHEEL AREA WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE. A SHORT TIME LATER THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL STARTED SHAKING AND WOBBLING UNCONTROLLABLY AT SPEEDS OF 65MPH. THEIR WAS NO WARNING! THANK GOD I WAS ENTERING TOWN AND WAS CLOSE TO HOME. I GOT THE CAR HOME AND HAD FRIEND WHO IS A MECHANIC INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM. WHAT HE FOUND WAS SCARY!!!!! THE WHOLE SUB FRAME AND ENGINE CRADLE WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY GONE DUE TO SEVERE RUSTING IN THE EXACT AREA WHERE THE SUSPENSION COMPONENTS ATTACH TO THE FRAME. SUPER BAD DAY WHEN I SHOWED THE PICTURES TO 3 DIFFERENT LOCAL AUTOMOTIVE SHOPS WITH WELL OVER 100 YRS OF EXPERIENCE COMBINED AND ALL INFORMED ME THAT THE ESTIMATED COST TO REPAIR WAS 4000.00 UP TO 5500.00. COMPLETELY ABSURD! CAR IS WORTHLESS AND ONLY HAS 100,000 MILES ON IT. YOU SHOULD MAKE CHRYSLER OWN UP TO EVERY PACIFICA THAT HAS THIS PROBLEM, NOT JUST A FEW THAT WAS MANUFACTURED IN A FEW MONTHS. THEIR IS OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE THAT THEY DIDN'T COAT THE FRAME PROPERLY. I WILL BE SHARING MY PICTURES AND WHEN YOU SEE THEM ASK YOURSELF IF YOU WOULD WANT YOUR FAMILY DRIVING THESE CARS AND HAVING TO SPEND A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO FIX THEM PROPERLY. CHRYSLER IS DOING NOTHING BECAUSE THE NHTSA ISN'T MAKING THEM. TO MY UNDERSTANDING I JUST BOUGHT MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA 3 WEEKS AGO AND WENT TO GET THE OIL CHANGED AND THE MECHANICS COULD NOT GET THE SCREW OUT AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY SUB FRAME THAT HOLD THE ENGINE WAS ALL RUSTED OUT AND CAN CAUSE ME TO HAVE A FATAL ACCIDENT AND I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES ABOUT THAT AND I WILL NEED TO KNOW HOW TO GET MY CAR REPAIRED ON THE SUBFRAME, I SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES HOW THE SUB FRAME IS RUSTED AND CRACKED AND CORRISON, I AM GLAD THEY TOLD ME NOW I CAN'T DRIVE MY PACIFICA DUE TO THIS AND CAN'T GET MY OIL CHANGED, THE OIL MECHANIC TOOK A PICTURE..PLEASE HELP ME TAKE CARE OF THIS

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION REPAIR FACILITY. THE SOURCE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED TWO YEARS AGO. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000. *TT

CROSS MEMBER UNDER ENGINE RUSTED ALL THE WAY THROUGH
MY CAR WOULD NOT PASS INSPECTION BECAUSE THE FRAME HAD NOT BEEN COATED PROPERLY AND HAD RUSTED OUT. IT WAS DECRIBED TO ME THAT THIS "ENGINE CRADLE ROT" ISSUE IS COMMON AMONG 2004-2005 PACIFICAS. THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL FOR THE 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICAS YET HOWEVER THE SITUATION IS VERY DANGEROUS AS THE ENGINE WAS NOT PROPERLY SUSPENDED AND COULD FALL THROUGH. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT CRYSLER DID RECALL 2004 MODELS BUT NOT 2005 MODELS YET.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT DUE TO THE SEVERE CORROSION, THE FRAME COULD FRACTURE WHILE ON THE LIFT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 205,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSORS COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER IT WAS PURCHASED FROM AND THE ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO BERGSTROM USED CAR SUPER CENTER OF APPLETON (2925 N VICTORY LN, APPLETON, WI 54913, (920) 749-3232) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRAME HAD EXTENSIVE RUST, HOLES, AND CORROSION THAT COULD AFFECT THE MOTOR, RENDERING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT ISSUED ANY RECALLS FOR THE SUSPENSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
FRONT SUB-FRAME HAS RUSTED THROUGH RENDERING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME FAILURE AS MANY OTHER REPORTS YOU HAVE RECEIVED ON THIS VINTAGE, MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. FCA HAS REFUSED TO OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE TOWARD THE REPAIR AND MY LOCAL MECHANIC REPORTED THAT NEW REPLACEMENT SUB-FRAMES ARE NOT EVEN AVAILABLE - LEAVING CONSUMERS WITH THE CHOICE OF RECYCLING THE VEHICLE AT A SALVAGE YARD, REPAIRING IT WITH WHAT IS OBVIOUSLY FLAWED OEM COMPONENTS, OR KEEP IT AS LAWN DECORATION. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD AND AM THANKFUL THE PROBLEM WAS DISCOVERED PRIOR TO MY WIFE OR SON EXPERIENCING A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE LOOSES A LIFE BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT. BE PROACTIVE AND FORCE FCA TO REPAIR THESE FAILURES - REGARDLESS OF MILEAGE - OR THIS ORGANIZATION IS PART OF THE PROBLEM.
I TOOK MY PACIFICA IN TO HAVE A COOLANT LEAK ADDRESSED AS WELL AS AN OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION. AFTER THEY CHANGED THE OIL & ROTATED THE TIRES THEY CALLED ME TO SAY THEY HAD FOUND THE SUBFRAME/ENGINE CRADLE HAD RUSTED THROUGH COMPLETELY AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY. THEY SUGGESTED THE COOLANT LEAK BE ADDRESSED AFTER THE SUBFRAME WAS FIXED AS THE VEHICLE WASN'T DRIVABLE IN ITS CURRENT STATE. THE SHOP ALSO SAID THIS KIND OF RUST DAMAGE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOT NORMAL AND THE REPAIR SHOULD BE COVERED BY CHRYSLER. IT APPEARS, HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT THE CASE.

DANGEROUS...MY 05 PACIFICA ENGINE MOUNT AND SUBFRAME ARE COMPLETELY RUSTED AND THE ENGINE IS ON THE VERGE OF DROPPING OUT POTENTIALLY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURIES OR DEATH. I FOUND THIS OUT DURING AN OIL CHANGE. NOW AS I DRIVE THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE MAKES KNOCKING NOISE. I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX IT OR THE CREDIT TO GET A NEWER VEHICLE. MY ONLY CHOICE IS TO DRIVE IT UNTIL SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS, THEN MAYBE CHRYSLER WILL DO WHAT'S RIGHT AND SEND OUT A RECALL. PLEASE HELP ALL OF US COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. DURING ROUTINE WHEEL ALIGNMENT I WAS TOLD THAT THEY CANNOT PERFORM DUE TO THE EXCESSIVE ENGINE CRADLE RUST AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
I JUST NOTICED THE ROTTING ENGINE CRADLE ON MY CAR AND FOUND OUT IT IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE BY FCA AND MANY OTHER CONSUMERS SUFFERING THE SAME CONDITION. I HAVE NOT HAD REPAIRED YET
MY VEHICLE STARTED MAKING A CLUNK NOISE FROM THE ENGINE AREA AND STOPPED SHIFTING OUT OF SECOND GEAR. I TOOK VEHICLE IN TO A REPAIR SHOP FOR TRANSMISSION SERVICE AND WAS TOLD BY THE REPAIR SHOP THAT THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE ENGINE CRADLE HAS CORROSION AND HAS RUSTED TO THE POINT THAT THE ENGINE IS ABOUT TO FALL OUT THE VEHICLE WHICH MOST LIKELY CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO FAIL. THIS WAS DISCOVERED WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS BEING LIFTED ON THE HOIST. THE REPAIR SHOP SAID THEY ARE AFRAID TO KEEP THE VEHICLE ON THE HOIST BECAUSE SOMEONE COULD GET INJURED WHILE UNDERNEATH IT.
I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS WITH MINIMAL ISSUES. ALL OF A SUDDEN THREE DAYS AGO, I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE ACCELERATOR STOPPED WORKING. THE CAR DID NOT SHUT OFF JUST KIND OF SPUTTERED LIKE IT WANTED TO CUT OFF. I HAD TO MANEUVER MY WAY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. EVENTUALLY I ENDED UP HAVING IT TOWED TO MY HOME. NOW I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD IT COULD BE THE PCM, ECM OR THE TRANSMISSION.

CROSS MEMBER TWISTS WHEN STEERING AND HANDLING IS DANGEROUS WITH THE MOTOR AND SUB FRAME TWISTING WHEN YOU HIT A BUMP. WE'VE STOPPED DRIVING IT AS DIRECTION OF MECHANIC FOR FEAR OF MOTOR FALLING OUT AND IT HAS IN OTHER CASES! WE NOTICED IT LAST YEAR AFTER SEEING A NEWS REPORT ON THE ISSUE BUT IT WASN'T THIS BAD THEN, NOW WE WON'T DRIVE IT.
