OUR 2005 PACIFICA TOURING AWD WAS PURCHASED NEW IN 2005, WE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL AT ABOUT 4000 MILES. WHEN DRIVING OUT OF TOWN THE CRUISE CONTROL SHUT OFF, THE INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STILL HAD THE CRUISE LIGHT ON , BUT THE SET LIGHT WENT OFF. WE COULD NOT USE THE CRUISE CONTROL UNTIL WE PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN AROUND 16000 MILES. BOTH TIMES THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM. AROUND 17, 500 MILES THE RADIO WOULD NOT DELAY AND STAYED ON AFTER THE IGNITION WAS TURNED TO OFF. *AK ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER THE MAP LIGHTS WOULD NOT WORK WHEN THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. IT WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALER AND WE WERE TOLD THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) WAS BAD AND IT WOULD BE REPLACED. THE PART WAS ORDERED AND INSTALLED. IN JANUARY OF 2007 MY WIFE (SEVEN MONTHS PREGNANT) AND MEMBERS OF HER FAMILY DROVE THE PACIFICA TO KANSAS FOR A FAMILY WEDDING. ON THE RETURN TRIP WHILE DRIVING THROUGH TEXAS AROUND 10:00PM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, BRAKE LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, RADIO, AIR CONDITIONER/HEATER ALL FAILED. THE ONLY WORKING INTERIOR/EXTERIOR LIGHTS WERE THE AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS. SHE CALLED ME AND I NOTIFIED THE DEALER, WHO TOLD ME TO HAVE HER BRING IT IN "WHEN SHE GETS BACK". THANKFULLY A FAMILY MEMBER IN THE CAR HAD A GPS ENABLED CELL PHONE WITH A SPEEDOMETER AND THEY MADE IT BACK WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE BCM WAS FOUND TO BE THE PROBLEM AND A NEW UNIT WAS ORDERED AND INSTALLED. IN MARCH OF 2007 THE MAP LIGHTS ONCE AGAIN STOPPED WORKING AND THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP YET AGAIN. ONCE AGAIN THE BCM WAS THE PROBLEM AND IT WAS REPLACED. WE NOTIFIED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY HAD THE DEALER TECHNICIAN CHECK THE WIRE SPLICING FOR THE INSTRUMENT PANEL THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. THE TECHNICIAN COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING THAT WOULD CAUSE THE BCM FAILURES AND WE WERE TOLD THAT IT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE ARE WORRIED THAT THIS MAY START HAPPENING AGAIN.
I OWN A CHRYSLER PACIFICA 2005. I HAVE HAD IT FOR ALMOST A YEAR AND IT HAS STALLED ON ME 4 TIMES. THE FIRST TIME I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, WHEN IT SHUT OFF. THE WHEEL LOCKED, RADIO TURNED OFF EVERYTHING. I HAD TO QUICKLY RESTART THE CAR TO AVOID BEING HIT BY TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. THE SECOND TIME I WAS IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD AND IT SHUT WHILE WAITING AT A RED LIGHT. I DIDN'T KNOW IT SHUT OFF UNTIL I HIT THE GAS. THE THIRD AND FORTH TIME IT HAS SHUT OFF AS WELL WHILE DRIVING IN RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS THIS HAPPENING THIS WEEK. ALL OF THESE TIMES I HAVE HAD CHILDREN IN THE CAR. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO CHRYSLER AND I WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE THERE IS NO RECALL THERE IS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE TO THE VEHICLE. I WAS ADVISED TO TAKE IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP SO THAT THEY COULD LOOK IT OVER. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM, THEY COULD NOT FIX ANYTHING. I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT I IT WASN'T SOMETHING I COULD RE-PRODUCE. IT IS SOMETHING THAT HAPPENS FROM TIME TO TIME WITH NO WARNING. AGAIN THEY TOLD ME AS WELL THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE. *NM
MY 05 PACIFICA WILL NOT START RANDOMLY, WILL JUST CLICK CLICK CLICK. A SMALL JUMP WILL GET IT GOING AGAIN. BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, ELECTRICAL ALL SUPPOSEDLY CHECK OUT. HAPPENS RANDOMLY. ONE IT HAPPENED JUST 10 MINUTES AFTER I HAD DRIVEN THE CAR. CHRYSLER DEALER CLAIMS IT HAPPENS TO MANY. IT STRANDED ME. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED A RECALL LETTER WAS RECEIVED FOR THE HEADLIGHTS, #05V066000, AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR TWO DAYS, BUT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE THEREFORE THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK BY THE OWNER. SEVEN MONTHS LATER, A SECOND DEALERSHIP WAS CONTACTED TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR. UPON INSPECTION; THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THE RECALL WORK HAD NOT BEEN DONE. WHEN CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER IT WAS STATED THE PREVIOUS DEALERSHIP REPORTED THE WORK HAD BEEN DONE AND A SECOND REPAIR WOULD NOT BE AUTHORIZED. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECALL.
2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA STALLS WITHOUT WARNING. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME IN 2 MONTHS THAT MY PACIFICA HAS JUST DIED @ LOW SPEED. THE CAR DOESN'T JUST STALL, BUT IT COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. EACH TIME THAT IT STALLED, ALL OF THE ELECTRONICS TURNED OFF, HOWEVER, THE ONLY THING THAT WAS ON WAS THE OIL LIGHT. WHEN THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, NO FAULT CODES WERE RETURNED.*JB
ON OCTOBER 25, 2006 I DROVE DOWN MY LANE IN MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TO PICK UP MY MAIL AT THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY MY 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS IN THE BACK SEAT IN A CAR SEAT. AFTER RETRIEVING MY MAIL. I BACKED UP AND BUMPED A SMALL TREE. I THEN PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND AT THAT MOMENT WAS PROPELLED FORWARD AT A HIGH SPEED WITHOUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. WITHIN AN INSTANT I COLLIDED WITH A LARGER TREE. I HIT MY HEAD ON THE WINDSHIELD, BREAKING THE GLASS. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE ENTIRE FRONT BUMPER OF THE CAR WAS DESTROYED AT THE CENTER POINT. MY DAUGHTER BIT HER TONGUE, BUT OTHERWISE WAS FINE. THE CAR COULD NOT BE MOVED AFTER THAT AS THE STEERING FLUID WAS EMPTIED ONTO THE DRIVEWAY. WE FILED A POLICE REPORT AND HAD AAA TOW THE CAR. I WAS THEN TAKEN TO EMERGENCY. I HAD HIT MY HARD ENOUGH TO BREAK THE WINDSHIELD AND HAD CAT SCAN AND REPORTED TO HAVE A CONCUSSION. THE DAMAGE TO THE CAR WAS APPROXIMATELY $7000.00. MY INSURANCE COMPANY, WESTFIELD INSURANCE COVERED EVERYTHING EXCEPT A $500 DEDUCTIBLE, AND DID SUPPLY ME WITH A RENTAL CAR FOR 30 DAYS. ON NOVEMBER 25, 2006 I RECEIVED MAIL FROM CHRYSLER INFORMING ME OF A FUEL PUMP RECALL. ON MONDAY, DIRECTLY AFTER PICKING THE CAR, I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE CAR TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP FOR THE RECALL. I WILL NOT DRIVE IT AGAIN UNTIL THE FUEL PUMP HAS BEEN REPAIRED. I KNOW THAT THE REASON I WENT FORWARD WITHOUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS WAS DUE TO FUEL INJECTION OR FUEL PUMP ISSUES. ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 28, LADD HANFORD CHRYSLER INFORMED ME THAT THEIR COMPUTER THAT WOULD BE FIXING THE SOFTWARE ISSUES THAT CAUSE THE FUEL PUMP TO MALFUNCTION WAS NOT WORKING. THEY WANTED ME TO PICK UP MY PACIFICA AND BRING IT BACK AT A LATER DATE'''' I WOULD NOT BE DOING THAT, BECAUSE I AM COMPLETELY SKEPTICAL OF THE SAFETY ON MY CAR. I WILL NOT DRIVE IT UNTIL IN HAS BEEN REPAIRED. THE DEALER TOOK IT TO ANOTHER NEARBY DEALERSHIP TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE, ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT THEY ALSO COULD NOT FIX THE SOFTWARE GLITCH. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED EACH TIME. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE IGNITION SYSTEM, CHECKED COMPUTER CODES, AND EVALUATED WIRING HARNESS, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED.*AK
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR THE BACK END SWERVES AND SHAKES AS YOU GO AROUND CURVES AND THE BACK OF THE CAR BODY ROLLS FROM SIDE TO SIDE. AN ACCIDENT HAS NOT OCCURRED YET, BUT THE DEALER HAS LOOKED AT THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES AND SAYS THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH IT. NM
STALL WHILE VEHICLE MOVING. IT HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE MAKING LEFT HAND TURNS BETWEEN APRIL 06 AND JULY 06. WE HAD TSB FIX 1803905 IN AUG. 06. NO PROBLEMS UNTIL OCTOBER 17, 2006 WHEN IT STALLED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING AT SLOW SPEED IN A STRAIGHT LINE. NOW EVERY TIME I DRIVE IN STRAIGHT LINE OR TURN IN FRONT OF CARS I AM VERY AWARE THAT MY CAR MAY NOT BE RUNNING. IT IS A VERY INSECURE FEELING. \ THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME WITH THIS MATTER. *NM
I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP IN LATE AUGUST FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE. I TOLD THEM I WAS HAVING A LONG CRANK WHEN STARTING THE CAR. THEY SAID I PROBABLY DID NOT PUT THE GAS CAP ON TIGHT AND AIR GOT INTO THE TANK. I DISAGREED WITH THIS BUT SUPPOSEDLY DIAGNOSTICS THESE DAYS PICK UP ON EVERYTHING. A WEEK LATER I WAS DRIVING DOWN AN INCLINE AND MY GAS GAUGE DROPPED FROM 1/2 TANK TO E. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED INTO A GAS STATION AND THE TANK TOOK 15 GALLONS. WE RUN THROUGH A TANK OF GAS MAYBE ONCE EVERY TWO WEEKS. USUALLY, I TOP OFF THE TANK. THEREFORE, I DID NOT NOTICE THIS PROBLEM AGAIN UNTIL LAST WEEKEND. IN THIS INSTANCE, WHEN THE GAS GAUGE GOT TO JUST BELOW 1/2 TANK , DROPPED TO E AND STALLED. WE WERE IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. WE IMMEDIATELY RESTARTED THE CAR AND GOT TO A GAS STATION. THE CAR WOULD ONLY TAKE 8 GALLONS. I AM BRINGING IT TO THE DEALER TOMORROW. BTW, STILL HAVE THE LONG CRANK...IT HAS NEVER GONE AWAY. *NM
CHRYSLER PACIFICA STALLED AT A LOW SPEED WHILE MAKING A TURN INTO A PARKING LOT. TOOK VEHICLE TOOK DEALERSHIP THE SAME DAY AND THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED HOWEVER IT WOULD RESTART. THIS OCCURRED ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO COULD NOT DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. THERE WAS AN OPEN NHTSA INVESTIGATION #EA06013 WHICH PERTAINED TO ENGINE, FUEL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN AND VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL.
I OWN A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. ON THREE OCCASIONS THE GAS PEDAL ON THIS CAR HAS STUCK. THE CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, KERRY IN MILFORD, OHIO AND ASKED TO HAVE THIS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION CORRECTED. THEIR SERVICE PEOPLE TELL ME THAT THIS IS "WEAR AND TEAR" AND NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY, AND THAT I CAN PAY $170 FOR THEM TO CLEAN OUT THE "GUNK" UNDER THE CAR, WHICH IS LIKELY TO BE CAUSING THE STICKING. IN OVER 40 YEARS OF DRIVING I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. I WROTE CHRYSLER WHO INITIALLY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULDN'T REPAIR BECAUSE THE WARRANTY WAS RUN, AND THEN, WHEN I CORRECTED THAT ERROR, SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. *JB
MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA STALLED WHILE TURNING LEFT AT A SLOW SPEED. THIS HAPPENED WHILE GOING AROUND A ROUNDABOUT IN THE ROAD. UNSAFE BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES MAKE CONTROLLING CAR VERY HARD. *NM

WE HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THAT KEEPS CUTTING OFF. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPEN I THOUGHT WELL MAYBE IT WAS SOMETHING I DID. THE SECOND TIME WAS WHEN I WAS TURNING ONTO A 2 LANE ROAD COME HOME LATE. THE CAR JUST TURNED COMPLETELY OFF. NO WARNING AT ALL. THANKFULLY THE CAR SWERVED AND MISSED ME AND MY KIDS. I THEN TOOK IT TOALLEN SAMUEL'S ALLIANCE. I TOLD THEM WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND ALSO TOLD THEM MY LEFT LIGHT KEEPS HAVING A SHORT IN IT. AND AT TIMES CUTS OFF. THE DEALER CALLED ME BACK AND ADVISED THAT THE LIGHT HAD A DEFECT TO IT AND THAT FOR THE ENGINE FAILURE IT WAS DUE TO MY THROTTLE NEEDING TO BE CLEANED. THAT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND HAD TO PAY $300 TO GET THAT CLEANED. I THEN WAS CALLED BACK SEVERAL HOURS LATER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE THROTTLE HAD BEEN CLEAN BUT IT THEY TEST DROVE IT AND IT SEEMED LIKE SOMETHING ELSE WAS GOING ON. THEY ASKED IF I WOULD LET THEM KEEP IT UNTIL THE MORNING SO THAT THEY CAN HAVE THERE TECH LOOK AT IT AGAIN IN THE MORNING. I SAID OKAY ALTHOUGH AT THIS POINT IT WAS GOING ON THE 4TH DAY WITH OUT HAVING A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE. I WAS CALLED THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE REAR MOTOR MOUNT THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED. AND THAT WAS COVERED HOWEVER I NEED TO PAY MY DEDUCTIBLE. WE WENT AHEAD AND HAD THEM FIX THE PROBLEM . THIS WAS AT THE END OF JULY. IT IS NOW SEPTEMBER AND MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IS IN THE SHOP AGAIN .BECAUSE AS I WAS DRIVING IT STALED ON ME AGAIN... TOOK IT BACK TO THE SHOP AND ON MY WAY THERE IT STALED AGAIN. ALL OF SUDDEN MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA STARED MAKING THIS LOUD NOISE WHEN I WOULD ACCELERATED AND OR TURN LEFT........ WHEN WE GOT TO THE DEALER THEY ADVISE AGAIN THAT NOW ANOTHER MOTOR MOUNT HAS BROKE... MY CAR HAS BEEN THERE A WEEK. AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A LOANER CAR BECAUSE THE WARRANTY COMPANY IS SAYING THAT THEY WILL NOT REPLACE IT MY 2005 CHRYSLER ONLY HAS 39,926 ....AND THE DEALERSHIP IS SAYING THAT THEY WILL HELP US OUT WITH PAYMENT PLANS THE REPAIR IS 1,100. *JB
THE EMERGENCY BRAKE RELEASE HANDLE HAS FAILED AND HAS BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED IN AUGUST, 2005. THE MOST CURRENT FAILURE EVENT WAS ON OR ABOUT 9/15/11.THE INDICATED DATE OF FIRST INCIDENT IS AN APPROXIMATION OF WHEN THE HANDLE FIRST BROKE. SINCE THEN THE HANDLE SEEMS TO BRAKE EVERY 12-16 MONTHS. WHEN THE BRAKE RELEASE HANDLE FAILS THE ENTIRE EMERGENCY BRAKE ASSEMBLY FALLS TO THE FLOOR, THEREBY RENDERING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE/RELEASE INOPERABLE. IT IS APPARENT THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE IS A DEFECTIVE DESIGN OF THE HANDLE. ON EACH SIDE OF THE PART THERE IS A SMALL "EAR" WITH A HOLE IN IT. THE PART CONNECTS TO THE DASHBOARD BY 2 SMALL PINS THAT SLIDE INTO THE HOLES. TO RELEASE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE THE HANDLE IS PULLED OUTWARD THUS CAUSING THE HANDLE TO PIVOT ON THE PINS WHICH, IN TURN EXERTS ENOUGH STRESS ON THE TWO "EARS" THAT OVER TIME CAUSES THEM TO BREAK, RESULTING IN THE BRAKE RELEASE ASSEMBLY SEPARATING FROM THE DASHBOARD AND FALLING TO THE FLOOR. *TT
THIS IS AN OLD STORY. 2005 CHRYSLER PASIFICA. I ADJUSTED (MOVE FORWARD) ACCEL AND BRAKE PEDAL POSITION BY ELECTRIC POSITION ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM. THEN I WENT TO A HIGHWAY (I94, MI), MY CAR DID NOT SPEED AT ALL. VERY SLOW. SO, I COULD NOT FOLLOW THE FLOW OF OTHER VEHICLE, I WAS ALMOST BE CRASHED. I IMMEDIATELY QUIT FROM THE HIGHWAY AND CHECKED THE PEDALS. THE REASON OF THE ISSUE WAS POOR STROKE OF THE PEDALS. IN CASE OF PACIFICA, WHEN WE MOVE THE PEDALS FORWARD MORE THAN MIDDLE POSITION, MOVING RANGE OF THE ACCEL PEDAL WAS REDUCED LESS THAN HALF BECAUSE THE PEDAL HIT ON THE FLOOR. ALSO, THIS PROBLEM CAUSES AUTO CRUISE SYSTEM PROBLEM. BECAUSE THE PEDAL CAN NOT MOVE MORE THAN HALF OF ITS RANGE, THE SYSTEM CAN NOT PULL THE PEDAL CORRECTLY. THEN THE VACUUM HOSE DROPS OUT FROM THE LINE. MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY SLOW DOWN WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED. I WENT TO CHRYSLER SERVICE CENTER AND THEY RECONNECT THE VACUUM HOSE AGAIN. I AM SURE THIS IS A DESIGN ERROR AND SHOULD BE IMPROVED IMMEDIATELY. MAYBE RECALL. *TR
1) I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AND EXITED. SHORTLY AFTERWARDS WHEN DRIVING SLOWLY MY CAR STALLED AND I LOST ALL CONTROL, FORTUNATELY, DID NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT. 2) CAR STALLED WHEN DRIVING SLOWLY, SHORTLY AFTER DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. LOST ALL CONTROL OF VEHICLE. 3) RESTARTED CAR AND EVERYTHING SEEMED OKAY. NOW THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS SO I AM TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TOMORROW TO SEE IF THEY CAN IDENTIFY SOURCE OF PROBLEM AS THIS COULD BE VERY SERIOUS IF IT CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *NM

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHTS THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL WITHOUT WARNING. THIS OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTATED AND DRIVEN TO THE DEALER EACH TIME WHERE THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. UPDATED 9/18/2006 - THE VEHICLE IS MANUFACTURERS WITH TWO FUEL TANKS AND TWO FUEL PUMPS. IT WAS LATER DETERMINED THAT THE SECONDARY PUMP FAILED LEAVING THE VEHICLE WITH THE USE OF ONLY ON TANK. WE PURCHASED A USED CHRYSLER PACIFICA ON 1/24/06 IN SAVANNAH, GA W/APPROXIMATELY 20K MILES ON IT. APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH LATER, IT STALLED WHILE MAKING A U-TURN. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS PERHAPS A FLUKE BECAUSE NO MESSAGE LIGHT CAME ON TO HELP DETERMINE THE ISSUE. IT WOULD OCCASIONALLY FEEL LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL OR REV ITSELF BUT IT WENT A FEW MONTHS WITH SOME ABS WHEEL SENSOR ISSUES BUT NO STALLING. SINCE JULY 25TH 2006 IT HAS STALLED OR ATTEMPTED TO STALL ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. ON THURSDAY 8/10/06. IT STALLED 2 TIMES AND ATTEMPTED TO STALL MANY MORE. THE FUEL GAUGE THEN DROPPED FROM @ 1/2 A TANK TO "E" AND THE MESSAGE CENTER SAID THAT THE TANK ONLY HAD 32 MILES TO EMPTY. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IT IN ASAP. I FUELED UP AND IT ONLY TOOK 12 GALLONS TO FILL UP. IT WAS THEN DROPPED AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT THE CAR FOR 5 DAYS AND WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. A FEW DAYS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED AND THE CAR WENT BACK AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TO KEEP THE CAR FUELED ABOVE 1/2 TANK AND THEN BRING IT IN ON 8/21/06 WITH A 1/2 TANK OR LESS OF FUEL. I BROUGHT IT IN AT A 1/2 ON THE MARK. ONCE MORE, THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ERROR. THEY BELIEVE THEY KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE IS BUT CAN'T FIX IT UNTIL THEY CAN GET A COMPUTER READ OR OR PERSONALLY DUPLICATE THE ERROR. I GOT THE CAR BACK ON WEDNESDAY 8/23/06 AND AGAIN ON THE EVENING OF FRI, 8/25/06 THE GAS GAUGE PLUMMETED TO "E" WITH PLENTY OF FUEL IN THE TANK AND ATTEMPTED TO STALL. TODAY, 8/27/06 THE CAR STALLED TWICE, ONCE IN THE MIDDLE OF A RIGHT HAND TURN AND ONCE WHILE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN. IF I GAS UP, I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM UNTIL THERE IS LESS THAN A SOLID 1/2 TANK OF FUEL IN THE CAR. I NEED THIS CAR AND I AM SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE IT ANYWHERE WITHOUT MORE THAN A 1/2 TANK. I ASKED TO DEALERSHIP TO DRAIN GAS IF NEED TO BE REPLICATE THE ISSUE BUT THEY ARE APPARENTLY UNABLE TO DO THIS. *JB
2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA STALLED FOR THE 4TH TIME SINCE LEASE PURCHASE (AUGUST 2006). I DROVE ~25 MILES TO WORK AND THE CAR STALLED WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO MY WORK PARKING LOT. THE ONLY WARNING LIGHT THAT CAME ON WAS THE OIL LIGHT. AFTER A MINUTE OF SITTING, THE CAR WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE DEALERSHIP STATED NO FAULT REGISTERED ON THE CAR'S COMPUTER, AND TRIED TO RECREATE THE STALL BUT WERE UNABLE TO. NO REPAIR WAS MADE. ON 20 AUG 2006 THE SAME INCIDENT OCCURRED: CAR STALLED WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO WORK PARKING LOT. SAME DEALERSHIP HAD LOOKED AT CAR AND MADE THE FOLLOWING REPAIRS: REPLACED IDLE AIR CONTROL AND REPROGRAMMED PCM. ON TWO PREVIOUS OCCASIONS (DON'T HAVE THE PAPERWORK, BUT WILL REQUEST RECEIPT COPY) THE CAR HAD STALLED AFTER DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND PICKING UP CHILD FROM DAYCARE, WHEN MAKING AN ATTEMPT TO EXIT SUBDIVISION (A LEFT TURN, WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN FOLLOWED BY A RIGHT TURN, BUT THE CAR STALLED BEFORE THE RIGHT TURN). I TOOK THE CAR TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP AT THE TIME, BUT THEY FOUND NO FAULT ON THE COMPUTER AND ONLY ATTEMPTED TO RECREATE THE STALL. UNABLE TO DO SO, NO REPAIR WAS MADE.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE SLOWING TO A STOP, THE ENGINE SEIZED AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE ENGINE ONLY STALLED WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS HALF FULL. AFTERWARDS, THE ENGINE WAS EASILY RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.
MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA FWD 3.6L 24 V. VEHICLE'S GAS GAUGE READS ABOUT 1/4 TO 1/3 OF A TANK FULL, THEN SUDDENLY DROPS TO EMPTY. WITH IN A FEW MILES OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE AFTER THIS HAPPENS THE VEHICLE STALLS OUT. THE VEHICLE HAS ALSO ALMOST STALLED OUT THREE OTHER TIMES AND HAS STALLED OUT 5 TIMES NOW. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED TWICE ONCE THE BCM WAS RESET AND THE SECOND TIME THE LEVELING UNITS AND SENDING UNITS IN THE GAS TANK WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD THIS OCCURRENCE AGAIN AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS INFORMED ME THEY WILL CONTACT ME AGAIN THIS COMING MONDAY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE, EVEN THOUGH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INFORMED ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS FIXED AND THIS PROBLEM WOULD NOT OCCUR AGAIN. I HAVE ONLY OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR 5 WEEKS, AND IT HAS STALLED OUT 5 TIMES AND THE GAS GAUGE HAS SUDDENLY DROPPED TO EMPTY MORE THEN FIVE TIMES NOW, THE MOST RECENT HAPPENING TODAY 8/6/06. *NM

2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA - CONSTANT CLICKING NOISE, SOUNDS LIKE STONES RUBBING ON PAVEMENT WHEN DRIVING. NOT JUST IN TURNS BUT ANYTIME. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE STONES IN THE TIRES - AFTER CLEANING THE TIRES THE SOUND PERSISTED. APPARENTLY CHRYSLER HAS NO FIX FOR THIS? I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW SAFE MY CAR IS RIGHT NOW. *NM
(1) VEHICLE DRIVEN TWO MONTHS AFTER PURCHASED USED FROM DEALER WITH ABOUT 12,500 MILES ON IT ; TANK FILLED TO CAPACITY NORMALLY, NO STALLING INCIDENTS. (2) VEHICLE BEGAN HESITATING WHILE DOWNHILL ON A DRIVEWAY, TANK NEAR EMPTY. FILLED TANK, BUT ONLY TOOK 9.6 GALLONS. WHEN DRIVEN TO THE TOP OF THE RED EMPTY RANGE, CAR BEGAN TO HESITATE, OR EVEN STALL AT A STOP LIGHT. PROGRESSIVELY FROM THAT POINT, LESS AND LESS FUEL CAN BE PUMPED INTO THE TANK, AND DEALER DETERMINED THAT ONE HALF OF THE TANK IS FULL, THE OTHER AT THE FILLER NECK IS PART FULL. DEALER BELIEVES A "VALVE" INSIDE THE TANK IS THE PROBLEM -- PART ON ORDER. MEANWHILE, I CAN NOT FILL THE TANK WITH MORE THAT 4.5 GALLONS, AND IT READS 2/3 FULL AT THAT POINT. CAR CONTINUES TO STALL ON DOWNHILL DRIVEWAY WHEN GAUGE READS AT THE TOP OF THE RED EMPTY RANGE. WHEN TANK CAP IS REMOVED, THERE IS A RUSH OF AIR EITHER IN OR OUT OF THE TANK. *JB

THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED A CO-PILOT AND DETERMINED THE FUEL PUMP WAS LOSING POWER. THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED AND THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM.*AK THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL FAILED, THE ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED, WHICH RESULTED IN THE REPLACEMENT OF THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, THE LEFT REAL TAIL LIGHT AND BATTERY WERE REPLACED. THREE OF FOUR ABS WHEEL SENSORS HAVE FAILED IN LAST 6 MONTHS. THOUSAND OF SENSORS ARE ON BACKORDER FROM CHRYSLER. *JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A CLICKING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THERE WAS THEN A RAPID INCREASE IN THE ENGINE RPMS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWO ADDITIONAL TIMES AFTER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
NOW I AM IN SHOCK, WE HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WE PURCHASED IN MARCH OF THIS YEAR, USED 23,000 MILES. THOUGHT IT WAS A PRETTY NICE VEHICLE UNTIL THIS WEEK IT LOST STEERING WHILE TURNING LEFT (IT MAY HAVE STALLED, AM NOT SURE BECAUSE STEREO WAS STILL ON. WAS ABLE TO STOP AND RESTART IT AND IT WAS OK. HAPPENED 2 TIMES 1 DAY APART. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO KEPT IT 2 DAYS , COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT SO CANNOT DETECT THE PROBLEM. COME ON NOW. I JUST GOT ON THIS SITE THAT LISTED ALL THE PROBLEMS IN THE 2005 PACIFICA, AND OUT OF 157, OVER 3/4 OF THEM HAD THE EXACT PROBLEM YET CHRYSLER CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON. AND LET ME TELL YOU THIS MUCH, TODAY MY DAUGHTER TOOK MY 3 GRANDCHILDREN TO MEET THEIR DAD 280 MILES AWAY ON THE BUSIEST HIGHWAYS AND MOUNTAINS IN THE U.S. PLUS MY SON WENT WITH HER FOR THE COMPANY. NOW THAT IS MY WHOLE FAMILY, THANK THE GOOD LORD THEY MADE IT SAFE, BUT AFTER GETTING ON HERE THIS EVENING AND READING HOW MANY TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED I AM IN TOTAL SHOCK NEEDLESS TO SAY SICK AT MY STOMACH. ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF AGO, MY CHRYSLER PACIFICA 2005 STARTED TO HAVE A COUPLE OF PROBABLY RELATED PROBLEMS, ONE OF WHICH CAN BE DANGEROUS. THE CAR WILL STALL WHEN TURNING LEFT. IF A CAR IS COMING UP BEHIND ME, I COULD GET REAR ENDED. THE OTHER PROBLEM IS THAT MY FUEL GAUGE WILL SHOW A HALF TANK ONE MINUTE AND ALMOST EMPTY THE NEXT. WHEN I HAVE FILLED UP, IT WOULD ONLY TAKE 15 GALLONS, MEANING THAT THERE ARE STILL 8 GALLONS LEFT. FUEL GAUGE DROPS TO EMPTY WITH ONLY 16 OUT OF 23 GALLONS IN TANK USED. REFILLED SEVERAL TIMES, SAME RESULT. TODAY WHILE PARKED DOWNHILL, GAUGE READ COMPLETELY EMPTY (STILL HAD APPROXIMATELY 7 GALLONS) WOULD NOT START AS IF OUT OF GAS. ONCE ON AN UPSLOPE GAUGE WENT TO 3/8. COULD NOT START ON DOWN SLOPE. *JB

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH ON DRY ROADS, THE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE. DURING THIS INCIDENT THE POWER STEERING WOULD NOT RESPOND TO STEERING INPUT. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED BY DRIVING INTO A CURB. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER, THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 15-75 MPH, THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE REAR ABS SENSOR, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE EIGHT TIMES AND REPLACED THE ABS SENSORS AND THE WIRING HARNESS, BUT THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. AS OF OCTOBER 5, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
DRIVING A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA, I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THE ENGINE STALLING WHILE DRIVING. WE HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE SINCE JAN 06 AND TODAY WAS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. CONTACTED THE CHRYLSER DEALERSHIP THEY ARE UNAWARE OF ANY KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH THE PACIFICA ENGINE STALLS. *NM

THE FUEL TANK IS AT HALF FULL DURING ALL EVENTS AND ACTUALLY DROPS TO ZERO FOR MINUTE THEN RETURNS TO HALF FULL. 2. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT IN TRAFFIC, AT INTERSECTIONS, SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE THE VEHICLE QUIT. I AM ONLY ABLE TO FILL THE TANK HALF OF THE TIME OTHERWISE IT ONLY LET ME FILL TO 3/4 FULL. DUE TO THE MPG RATING THIS MEANS FREQUENT TRIPS TO THE GAS STATION. 3. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES. THEY WERE "UNABLE TO REPRODUCE" THE PROBLEM THE FIRST TWO TIMES. THEY DETERMINED THAT IT WAS A FUEL MODULE PROBLEM AFTER THE THIRD TIME BECAUSE THE PROBLEM OCCURRED WITH THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN WAS THERE. A REPLACEMENT PART HAS BEEN ORDERED BUT HAS BEEN, OF COURSE, ON BACKORDER FOR 3 WEEKS. STILL NO FIX. CARS STOPPING IN TRAFFIC IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. PLEASE DO A QUICK SEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND YOU WILL FIND MANY INSTANCES OF THE PROBLEM. IT'S NOT ISOLATED AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AS A RECALL. THANK YOU. *NM

AND THE LIGHT IS STILL ON. ONE SHOP REPLACED THE LEFT REAR HUB ASSEMBLY BECAUSE IT WAS NOT READING. THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE AND I AM OUT 200.00 DOLLARS FOR THE HUB ASSEMBLY.
