TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THE ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE BRAKES BEGAN TO MAKE A GRINDING NOISE. THE BRAKE FAILURE ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH TO OCCUR. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DIDN'T ILLUMINATE UNTIL AFTER IT WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER A SECOND TIME BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE GRINDING AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAILING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE ABS LIGHT CONTINUED TO REMAIN ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL; HOWEVER, THE DEALER DID NOT DUPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURES. UPDATED 08/03/12*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE ABS LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF ALL THE TIME. SOMETIMES, IT STAYED ON FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE WOULD LOSE BRAKING ABILITY AND IT FELT AS THOUGHT HE BRAKES WERE SHAKING, SLIPPING AND GRINDING. SHE ALSO STATED SHE EXPERIENCED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE, IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. UPDATED 08/06/12
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD TAPPING NOISE FROM THE ENGINE AREA. HE CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL WHICH WAS FINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THERE COULD BE SEVERAL REASONS FOR THE PROBLEM BUT DID NOT INSPECT IT. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
WHEN I HAD MY CAR IN TO FIX A FRONT END PROBLEM LAST YEAR I WAS TOLD TWO OF THE THREE MOTOR MOUNTS NEED TO BE REPLACED. NOW WHEN HAVING A TIE ROD REPLACED I AM TOLD SUBFRAME BRACKETS ARE ROTTED AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. A CAR THAT IS FIVE YEARS OLD SHOULD NOT BE ROTTING FROM NORMAL DRIVING. ENGINE MOUNTS ON A CAR SHOULD NOT GO AFTER FOUR YEARS.
MY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS RECENTLY BEEN STALLING WHEN TURNING AT LOW SPEEDS. *TR
I WAS TURNING LEFT AT ABOUT 10 MILES PER HOUR AND THE ENGINE OF THE CAR TURNED OFF.
CAR HAS HAD THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT ON FOR OVER 6 MONTHS. TRIED TO GET DEALER TO HONOR WARRANTY - 48/50,000 - BUT HAD NO LUCK. AS OF OCTOBER, 15TH, 2010, THE CAR BECAME INOPERABLE DUE TO A HEAVY KNOCKING SOUND ASSOCIATED WITH THE ENGINE. I TRIED RELENTLESSLY AGAIN TO HAVE THE DEALER HONOR THE WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD TO BRING THE CAR IN AND I DID SO. THEIR TESTING FOUND THAT THERE IS SLUDGE IN THE MOTOR, WHATEVER THAT IS. THE REPAIRS WILL TAKE $11,000 TO FIX, WHICH IS MORE THAN THE WORTH OF THE VEHICLE IN SOME CASES. I HAVE TRIED CONSUMER AFFAIRS IN MARYLAND BUT THE DEALER HAS NOT BUDGED. THE CAR IS STILL IN THE DEALER'S POSSESSION. *TR
APPROXIMATELY AROUND OCTOBER 2010, MY BRAKE LIGHT STARTED TO BLINK ON AND OFF. SHORTLY AFTER THAT, THE ABS LIGHT STARTED TO DO THE SAME THING. WHEN THEY WOULD FLASH, THEY WOULD ALSO "DING" AND IT WOULD SHUT OFF THE RADIO UNTIL IT WAS FINISHED FLASHING AND DINGING. I HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR TO NUMEROUS SHOPS AND HAS SEVERAL DIAGNOSTICS DONE, AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD SO MANY THINGS. BY THE TIME I GO TO GET SOMETHING REPAIRED, I'M INFORMED THAT NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE PARTS THAT I HAVE BEEN INFORMED TO REPLACE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT MY ALTERNATOR OVER CHARGES, THE CHIP IN MY KEY IS MISSED UP, MY POWERTRAIN CONTRAIN MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, MY MOTOR MOUNTS ARE LOOSE (WHICH I'VE ALREADY REPLACED), MY BATTERY WAS BAD (WHICH HAS ALSO BEEN REPLACED), AND I ALSO NEED TO REPLACE MY ENGINE WIRING HARNESS. THIS IS OVER $5000 IN REPAIRS. THE CAR IS NOW STARTING TO SHUT OFF WHEN I'M AT A STOP LIGHT FOR TOO LONG. THERE HAS TO BE A WAY TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE. IT IS COSTING ME TOO MUCH MONEY TO CONTINUE TO PAY THE MONTHLY CAR NOT AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY HAVE BEEN NO HELP AT ALL. I SERIOUSLY THINK THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. I CANNOT BE THE ONLY PERSON SUFFERING WITH THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAPPENS EVERYDAY. BECAUSE NO ONE CAN PROPERLY DIAGNOSE THIS PROBLEM, IT'S REALLY BECOME EXCESSIVE. IT'S AN ISSUE THAT I DEAL WITH ON A DAILY BASIS. *TR
ON THE EVENING OF MONDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2010, WE DROPPED OUR CAR OFF AT A LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THE PURPOSE FOR THIS DROP OFF WAS TO DETERMINE WHY THE ABS LIGHT WAS ON, AND WOULD NOT GO OFF. THE NEXT MORNING WE RECEIVED A CALL FROM A SERVICE TECHNICIAN EXPLAINING THAT OUR COMPUTER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THAT THEY HAD DISCOVERED AN ADDITIONAL PROBLEM WITH THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS. THE TECHNICIAN WENT ON TO EXPLAIN THAT THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS HAD COMPLETELY MELTED, AND HE COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY 'THE CAR DID NOT CATCH ON FIRE." AFTER AN "INVESTIGATION," CHRYSLER'S LEGAL DEPARTMENT DETERMINED THAT THE ISSUE WAS NOT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, AND WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY REASON FOR THE FIRE, BUT ONLY OFFERED THAT IT EXTINGUISHED ITSELF. WE CONTACTED OUR INSURANCE COMPANY, AND THEY RULED IT A FIRE, AND REPAIRED THE WIRING HARNESS. WE WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING THE ABS LIGHT MALFUNCTION. *TR
I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT AFTER LEARNING OF THE RECENT CHRYSLER RECALL ON 9/21/14. MY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA FREQUENTLY STALLS AND LEAKS SOMETHING. NOT SURE IF IT IS A FUEL LEAK. ALL CHRYSLER SUVS SHOULD BE RECALLED! *TR
WE PURCHASED OUR 2006 PACIFICA USED IN THE SUMMER OF 2009.I HAD AN INSTANCE WHERE MY ABS LIGHT WOULD COME ON RANDOMLY AND WHEN I WOULD BRAKE IT WOULD SKID. CHRYSLER DID FIX THAT PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD AT LEAST 6 SITUATIONS SINCE 2010 WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED 25 MPH OR LESS WHILE TURNING LEFT, MY CAR STALLS AND I LOSE POWER AND STEERING WITHOUT ANY WARNING. MAKING IT FEEL LIKE MY STEERING IS LOCKED, WHILE STUCK IN THE ROAD MOMENTARILY. AFTER EACH INCIDENT I AM ABLE TO TURN IGNITION OFF AND RESTART WITH NO PROBLEM. TWO OF THESE INCIDENTS I HAVE BEEN TURNING LEFT INTO A BUSY INTERSECTION JUST MISSED BEING HIT. THIS PROBLEM IS COMPLETELY RANDOM. IT HAPPENS IN ALL WEATHER. I AM TERRIFIED OF BEING INVOLVED IN A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT, ESPECIALLY WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. THIS IS OUR FAMILY VEHICLE. WE HAVE ROUGHLY 60,000 MILES ON IT CURRENTLY. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE TWO CHILDREN AGE 7 1/2 AND 17 MONTHS OLD. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED I REALIZED THIS WAS NOT A FLUKE, IT IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ON JULY 24, 2012. I GET A CALL ON JULY 25TH AROUND 2PM, FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER STATING TO ME THEY FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH MY PACIFICA!ON THE EVENING OF JULY 24TH, 2012 I GOOGLE "MY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA STEERING LOCKS WHILE TURNING LEFT". I WAS HORRIFIED AT THE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT MY SAME SITUATION. I CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER AT KAHLO IMMEDIATELY. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME ON JULY 27TH, 2012 THAT CHRYSLER SAYS THAT UNLESS THEY CAN DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THEY SHOW NO REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING ANYWHERE. I REFUSE TO PUT MY CHILDREN BACK IN THIS CAR, ESPECIALLY AFTER READING ABOUT IDENTICAL EXPERIENCES. I HAD NOT READ ABOUT ANY ACTUAL ACCIDENTS WITH THIS HAPPENING. IS THAT WHAT CHRYSLER IS WAITING FOR? SOMEONE TO LOSE THEIR LIFE BEFORE THEY ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM. *TR
2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA GAS PEDAL STICKS, WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP POSITION. IT HAPPENS A LEAST 3 TIMES A DAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE CHRYSLER SERVICE DEPARTMENT, AND THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO BE PROACTIVE BEFORE THIS GAS PEDAL STICKING CAUSES A MAJOR ORDEAL FOR CHRYSLER AND CONSUMERS. ALSO, THE LIFTER NOISE COMPLAINTS IS ALSO A COMMON PROBLEM AND NHTSA NEEDS TO RESEARCH THIS DEFECT MORE CLOSELY. I JUST HAD THIS REPAIRED. *TR
2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA STALLING ..... WITH NO WARNING IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS AND WORSE ON THE HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC WAS TOLD BY MANY DEALERS THAT IT WAS THE OIL SWITCH AS THE OIL LIGHT COMES ON WHEN IT HAPPENS ALSO WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE INCORRECT OIL FILTER ON MY CHRYSLER FILTERS MUST BE USED ON THAT ENGINE , THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR AND NOW IT IS HAPPENING ABOUT EVERY TIME SHE STOPS AND OR LEFT TURN , SHE HAS BEEN IN MANY SITUATIONS WHERE SHE WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT TO THE POINT THAT SHE DOESN'T EVEN DRIVE THE CAR ANYMORE IN SEEING ALL THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS I WOULD HOPE THAT A RECALL WOULD BE ISSUED BEFORE SOMEONE LOOSES A LIFE. *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THROTTLE STICKS OR WILL NOT MOVE FOR FIRST 1/4" OF TRAVEL. WHEN THE PEDAL FINALLY BECOMES UNSTUCK, THIS CAUSES RAPID ACCELERATION IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. *TR
2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WITH LESS THAN 32,000 MILES ON IT, HAD A STRIPPED CV JOINT THAT CAUSED THE LEFT FRONT AXLE SHAFT/CV JOINT TO FALL OF WHILE I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN. THANKFULLY I WAS MAKING A TURN AND NOT TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MILES PER HOUR. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO GET THE CAR OFF OF THE ROAD AND OUT OF THE WAY OF ON COMING TRAFFIC. *TR
DROVE MY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TO THE CONVENIENCE STORE DROVE NORMALLY WENT IN DID BUSINESS CAME BACK OUT TO LEAVE AND THE SHIFT LEVER WOULD NOT MOVE, HAD TO BE TOWED. TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAYS HE SEES THIS 4 TO 5 TIMES DAILY WITH BOTH PACIFICAS AND 300'S, HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO DODGE FOR REPAIR OF A PLASTIC CLIP THAT BROKE, PUSH KEY OVERRIDE WOULD NOT WORK. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY CHRYSLER PACIFIC 2006 I NOTICE THAT THE GAS PEDAL STICKS WHEN PUSHING DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL MAKING THE CAR TAKE OFF FAST. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER DARCARS AND JEEP CHRYSLER OF NEW CARROLLTON MD AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE EQUIP LINE TO THE GAS TANK WAS BROKE I INFORM THEM THAT I DID NOT KNOW HOW THAT COULD HAVE HAPPEN WHEN KNOW ONE HAS EVER WORK ON MY CAR. THE MANAGER WAS NOT CARING AT ALL I TOLD HIM THAT I FELT THAT THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE AND HE WAS NOT CONCERN WITH THE SAFETY OF MY WELL BEING. I HAVE ALSO CALLED THE CHRYSLER HEADQUARTER AND INFORM THEM ABOUT MY ISSUE WITH THE GAS PEDAL. THIS COULD LEAD TO ME PUSHING ON THE GAS PEDAL TO HARD AND POSSIBLY RUNNING INTO THE BACK OF SOMEONE AND OUR SOMETHING ELSE HAPPENING. MR. MIKE BAYAT WHO IS THE DIRECTOR OF THAT DEALERSHIP DID NOT EVEN GO OUT TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE PROBLEM HE JUST TO HIS TECH WORK AND I FELT THAT THE TECH WAS THE ONE WHO COULD HAVE BROKEN THE LINE. I FELT THAT I WAS TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF BECAUSE I AM A WOMEN, I KNOW THAT THEY MAKE THERE MONEY ON HOW MANY REPAIRS THEY DO. MY WARRANTY COVER THIS PART AND I FELT THAT THE PERSON THAT WAS WORKING ON MY CAR WAS TRYING TO GET OVER ON ME. ANOTHER TECH WAS THERE AND HE FELT THAT THE TECH WHO HAD WORK ON MY CAR SHOULD HAVE REPLACE IT UNDER THE WARRANTY. THIS PART IS COVER UNDER THE I HAVE WARRANTY AND THE MANAGER COULD CARE LESS ABOUT MY SAFETY. I LEFT THERE WITH THE GAS PEDAL STILL STICKING AND NO CONCERNS FROM THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE TURNING LEFT AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CONTINUED TO FUNCTION AND THE OIL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AS IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH A TAPPING NOISE COULD BE HEARD IN THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WILL HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 41,000.
MY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA'S WHEEL WILL COMPLETELY LOCK UP WHILE DRIVING NO MATTER THE RATE OF SPEED. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT UNLOCKED IS TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK, TURN OFF THE IGNITION, THEN TURN IT BACK ON. IMAGINE HAVING TO DO THIS ON THE INTERSTATE! IT'S DONE THIS EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE SINCE JANUARY 2010 BUT NOW JULY 2010 IT DOES IT EVERY DAY. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A POWER STEERING ISSUE BECAUSE I'VE DEALT WITH THAT WITH A PREVIOUS VEHICLE: THIS COMPLETELY LOCKS UP. I'VE BROUGHT IT TO MY MECHANIC AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING. CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY WANT ME TO BRING IT TO A CERTIFIED CHRYSLER AND TO CALL THEM BACK; SUPPOSEDLY I MAY OR MAY NOT GET ASSISTANCE FOR THIS AND FROM THE LOOKS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS IT'S NOT HAPPENING. ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKS AFTER LIFTING. I HAVE TO EXERT EXTRA PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL TO GET THE CAR TO SPEED UP. SOMETIMES FROM A STOP IT STICKS AND THE CAR LURCHES FORWARD OR REVERSE DEPENDING ON THE GEAR SELECTED. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WITH 65000 MILES. EXTERIOR HEADLIGHTS AND INTERIOR DASH LIGHTS BEGIN TO FLICKER WHILE DRIVING. ALSO, ABS & BRAKE LIGHTS ARE FLICKERING ON AND OFF. THIS OCCURS SEVERAL TIMES DAILY..ESPECIALLY IN THE MORNINGS WHEN HEADLIGHTS ARE IN USE. I FEAR HEADLIGHTS WILL GO OUT PERMANENTLY AND WILL CAUSE A CRASH. HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER CONSUMERS.. WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL . REPLACED SEVERAL SENSORS WILL NOT RESULTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WENT FROM INTERMITTENTLY FEELING STIFF TO BECOMING INTERMITTENTLY STUCK IN THE OPEN THROTTLE POSITION. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS WORKING FINE. ON THE MOST RECENT FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE ACCELERATOR WAS BROKEN AND THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE PART FOR THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER BEING PRODUCED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD THE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY THIRTY DAYS BEFORE INFORMING THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
DRIVING MY CAR, NO NOTICEABLE PROBLEMS. I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND I SAW A LOT OF FLUID ON THE DRIVEWAY. I WAS EXTREMELY CONCERNED, CHECKED ALL MY FLUIDS WHICH WERE OK. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULDN'T FIND A PROBLEM. I THEN STARTED NOTICING THE CAR RIDING "ROUGH" AND IDLING ROUGH ALONG WITH A 'BANGING" WHEN STARTING OR STOPPING AT REDLIGHTS. TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL MECHANIC WHO WAS NOT TOLD ANYTHING ABOUT THESE ISSUES (THERE FOR UNRELATED ITEM) AND WAS INFORMED I HAVE A BAD MOTOR MOUNT. HE ASKED IF I NOTICED 3 SPECIFIC ITEMS.. UH.. YAH... ALL THE THINGS I TOLD THE DEALER! WAITING FOR HIM TO CHECK OVER THE ENTIRE CAR RIGHT NOW TO SEE IF ANYTHING ELSE IS WRONG. (PROBLEM WITH THE HEAT AND I THINK WITH MY SUSPENSION). ALSO, THE HEAT WILL NOT STOP BLOWING ON THE WINDSHIELD (DEFROST) BARELY GIVES OFF HEAT TO FEET ETC.
