ONGOING ISSUE WITH GAS PEDAL STICKS INTERMITTENTLY AT IDLE SINCE NOVEMBER 2009. HAVE TO PRESS GAS PEDAL VERY HARD TO UNSTICK CAUSING VEHICLE TO JUMP FORWARD OR BACKWARD RAPIDLY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. IN AN ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WOULD NOT ENGAGE IMMEDIATELY, YET, WHEN IT DID RESPOND THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD. THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE PEDAL WAS STICKING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
ONE ROCKER ARM (LIFTER) WENT OUT IN JULY 09. WE REPLACED THE FAULTY ROCKER ARM. JUST TWO WEEKS AGO, ALL ROCKER ARMS WENT OUT, INCLUDING THE ONE THAT WAS RECENTLY REPLACED. THIS HAS CAUSED MY 06 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TO NOT TURN OVER AND NOT START. BOTH THE BATTERY AND STARTER HAVE BEEN TESTED AND ARE FINE. ALL ROCKER ARMS ARE NOW BEING REPLACED AT A COST OF OVER $1000 WITH ONLY 43K MILES ON THE VEHICLE. WHEN WE ASKED THE DEALERSHIP WHY THE BRAND NEW ROCKER ARM (LIFTER) HAD FAILED, THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE THE ENTIRE MECHANISM WITH THE ROCKER ARMS HAS A FAULTY DESIGN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL RELEASED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THERE WAS A SEPARATE OCCASION WHEN THE IDENTICAL FAILURE OCCURRED AND THE PEDAL RELEASED ONLY IN THE "NEUTRAL" POSITION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO A CARBON BUILD-UP IN THE THROTTLE BODY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AND A LOUD NOISE LIKE A BUMP CAME FROM THE ENGINE. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE MOTOR MOUNT. THEY SAID THE MOTOR MOUNTS ARE ON BACK ORDER AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY COULD DO IT. *TR
CHRYSLER MODEL: PACIFICA YEAR: 2006 PROBLEM: STICKY PEDAL THAT DEPRESSES AND REMAINS DEPRESSED UNTIL PULLED BY HAND INTO ITS RIGHTFUL POSITION FREQUENCY: 4 OUT OF 7 DAYS PER WEEK 5 OUT OF 7 DRIVE INSTANCES PER DAY. *TR..UPDATED 06/28/13 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS UN-STUCK AT SPEEDS ABOVE 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE DOES NOT SLOW DOWN, AT LOWER SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE FOLLOWS INERTIA. THE PEDAL IS HARD TO DEPRESS/STIFF WHEN STUCK ABOUT 1/3, OF THE TIME IT IS SMOOTH/EASY, WHEN IT IS NOT STUCK 2/3 OF THE TIME. HE STATED THE CRUISE CONTROL IS NOT ACTIVATED WHEN HE EXPERIENCES THE PROBLEM AND THERE IS NOTHING INTERFERING WITH THE PEDAL.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO OPERATE NORMALLY. THE DEALER HAS NOT DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT IS AWARE OF THE SAFETY RISK SINCE THE HEADLIGHTS COULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AND CRASH COULD OCCUR. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 56,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER THE WEATHER WAS RAINY OR THERE WERE DAMP WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE POWER STEERING WOULD FAIL WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WOULD ATTEMPT TO MANEUVER THE STEERING WHEEL AS IT WOULD BECOME INCREASINGLY HARD AND STIFF. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE YET HE WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
VALVE LIFTER NOISE CAUSE BY SHEARED OFF PINS ON LIFTER SHART CAUSING SHAFT TO ROTATE AND OIL FEEDS NOT SUPPLYING LIFTERS. I HAD THIS REPAIR DONE @ 77,000 MILES IN SEPTEMBER 2009. IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN IN FEBRUARY 2011 @ 104,000 MILES. *TR
2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS ABS BRAKE ISSUES. ABS LIGHTS COME ON AND OFF AND ABS PULSES RANDOMLY AT TIMES. CAR ONLY HAS 19K MILES. MANY OTHERS HAVE SAME PROBLEM. *TR

THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 40000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP, WATER PUMP, CAM SHAFT SENSOR, CATALYTIC CONVERTER, OXYGEN SENSOR, TIMING BELT, PVC VALVE, AND MULTIPLE OTHER PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V432000 (POWER TRAIN), BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA I HAD MY TIRES ROTATED THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON I LOOKED THIS INFORMATION UP ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS HAPPENING ALL THE TIME ON THE PACIFICA AND CHRYSLER WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS PROBLEM THE CHARGE JUST TO LOOK AT THE CAR IS 85 DOLLARS THEN THE COST OF REPAIR. *TR

ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, HAD VEHICLE CHECKED AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE AN EVAP LEAK. BOUGHT A NEW GAS CAP FIRST, THAT DIDN'T FIX IT, MECHANIC PULLED THE GAS TANK AND FOUND THE FUEL PUMP LINE HAD CRACKED, EVIDENTLY THE GAS TANK IS PLASTIC AND SUNK IN AT THE TOP CAUSING THE PLASTIC LINE ON THE PUMP TO CRACK. THIS IS POTENTIALLY A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WE HAD TO ADD SOME EXTRA LINE TO FUEL LINE JUST TO PUT THE TANK BACK UP AND KEEP FROM BRAKING THE NEW FUEL PUMP. *TR
2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. ABS SYSTEM FAILURES. ABS SYSTEM ENGAGES AND DISENGAGES AT RANDOM WHILE DRIVING. DEALER SAYS THIS IS KNOWN TO CHRYSLER BECAUSE THEY USED WIRING TO THE WHEELS THAT WAS NOT HEAVY (OR STRONG) ENOUGH AND EACH WHEEL SENSOR MUST BE REPLACED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM CHRYSLER DEALER SAID THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE BUT I BELIEVE THAT IT IS ESPECIALLY SHOULD I NEED TO BRAKE HARD IN AND EMERGENCY. WHY SHOULD THE OWNER OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE TO PAY TO CORRECT AN ISSUE THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS IS THEIR FAULT FROM THE BEGINNING? IS THIS A SAFETY ISSUE OR NOT? *TR

WE BOUGHT A 2006 PACIFICA TOURING THIS CAR BURNS A QUART OF OIL 1000 MILE. ITS LIKE CLOCKWORK, I HAVE TO CHECK IT ALL THE TIME!!!! BECAUSE IT CONSISTENTLY BURNS OIL. NO VEHICLE WITH 37000 SHOULD DO THAT WE HAVE A 2003 CHEVY WITH A V-6 WITH 137000 MILES AND IT DOE NOT BURN NEAR THE OIL IF ANY. THIS NEED TO BE SERIOUSLY LOOKED AT BY CHRYSLER MY PROBLEM IS AT 37000 MILES OUR WARRANTY EXPIRED!! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. SINCE MAY OF 2009, THE CONTACT HAS NOTICED WHITE FOAM ON THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. SHE DISCOVERED THAT THE FOAM WAS FALLING FROM THE BACK PADDING OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT. THE SEAT WAS INTACT, BUT THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE FOAM WAS DRY ROTTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN TO HAVE THE DRY ROTTED FOAM REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DID NOT WANT TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. CHRYSLER STATED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE PAID FOR THE REPAIR IF THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 36,000 MILES. CHRYSLER ADMITTED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT, BUT WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR DUE TO THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.

ALSO, THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED TO SHOW THE CORRECT SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THE SPEED SENSORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WAS FAULTY. THE SPEED SENSORS WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE VEERED SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT. THE VEHICLE THEN HEADED DOWN A RAVINE AND DROVE ACROSS THE SHOULDER INTO THE NORTHBOUND LANE. THERE WAS NO CRASH. THE CONTACT TOOK HIS VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC SHOP AND WAS INFORMED THAT ALL OF THE ALIGNMENT ADJUSTER BOLTS ON THE REAR WHEELS WERE LOOSE. HE STATED THAT THE REAR WHEELS HAD NOT BEEN ALIGNED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,300.

MY 06 CHRYSLER PACIFIC SHUTS DOWN WITHOUT WARNING THE LIGHTS FLASH SPONTANEOUSLY A CHIME OR BELL SOUND GOES OFF AND THERE IS A POPPING SOUND THAT COMES FROM THE SPEAKERS. THIS OCCURS SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. I'VE CONTACTED A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE CAR. I'VE RESEARCHED THESE ISSUES AND FOUND THAT THIS COMPLAINT IS COMMON AMONG NUMEROUS CHRYSLER PACIFICA OWNERS. I AM NOT IN A POSITION TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE AND I HAVEN'T OWNED THIS ONE A YEAR. EVERYTIME IT RAN, I HAVE TROUBLE WITH THE POWER STEERING ON MY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. IT WORKS GREAT MAJORITY OF THE TIME EXCEPT IN THE RAIN AND DEFINITELY NOT IF THE ROAD IS WET. IT STALLS AND I LOSE ALL POWER STEERING AND THE WHEEL TIGHTENS UP. I'M FORCED TO GO IN THE DIRECTION AT WHICH THE WHEEL IS LOCKED UP. I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING WITH AROUND 40K MILES. THESE DAYS I HAVE HEARD THE TICKING NOISE FROM ENGINE. I TRIED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM FROM MANY MECHANICS, BUT THEY CAN NOT FIX IT. THE NOISE MAKES ME CRAZY. I COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. FURTHERMORE, MANY MECHANICS COULD NOT FIND WHAT IS THE PROBLEM. *TR
MY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA STARTED LEAKING FLUID A FEW DAYS AGO. I TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE REAR MOTOR MOUNT IS DEFECTIVE. THE PART IS BACK-ORDERED. SUPPOSEDLY THEY SAY IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE. I AM WORRIED THAT IF I AM IN AN ACCIDENT OR HAVE TO GO ON A BUMPY ROAD THAT SOMETHING SERIOUS COULD HAPPEN. THE DEALER SAID THAT THIS PART SHOULDN'T NEED TO BE REPLACED...ACCORDING TO WHAT I HAVE READ IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE PACIFICA HAVING DEFECTIVE MOTOR MOUNTS IN THEIR CARS. CHRYSLER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS, IT IS NOT A PART THAT "NORMALLY" WEARS OUT (LET ALONE AT 32,000 MILES). THE WORST PART IS THAT OUR CAR JUST CAME OFF OF THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY ONE MONTH AGO...UGH. *TR
BURNS OIL, BRAKES FLUTTER , CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHY OR HOW TO TURN IT OFF I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA SO LIGHT ON GIVES ME AN AUTOMATIC FAIL ON MY SMOG TEST ALL OF THIS IS ONGOING AND HAS BEEN FOR OVER A YEAR. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE & MIDDLE ROW POWER OUTLETS DO NOT WORK. *TR
AT 40,000 MILES CAR STARTED MAKING TICKING NOISE. TOOK IT TO MY PERSONAL MECHANIC AND HE DETERMINED THE LIFTERS NEEDED CHANGING. REPLACED THE LIFTERS THEN AGAIN AT 60,000 MILES THE CAR HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS TIME I HAD A CERTIFIED MECHANIC FROM WORK CALL A FRIEND AT THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND HE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT CHRYSLER WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE LIFTERS AND THAT THERE WAS A REPAIR KIT AVAILABLE THROUGH CHRYSLER. I HAVE HAD THE CAR BACK FOR 2 WEEKS NOW WITH NO PROBLEMS SO FAR. THE MECHANIC VISUALLY CONFIRMED THAT THE RETAINING PINS OF THE SHAFT WERE INDEED SHEARED, THUS BLOCKING THE OIL GALLEY AND THE FLOW OF OIL TO THE LIFTERS. MY OPINION IS WHY WOULD CHRYSLER COME OUT WITH THIS REPAIR KIT IF THERE WAS NO WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM. *TR
UPON HEARING TICKING NOISE, WE TOOK OUR 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA INTO THE DEALER. WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM CAUSED BY A BROKEN RETAINING PIN ON THE ROCKER ARM SHAFT. WHEN THE PIN BREAKS, THE SHAFT CAN SPIN THAT MAY BLOCK OIL PASSAGE THE ROCKER ARMS (WHICH CAUSES THE TICKING NOISE). THE ROCKER ARM SHAFTS WERE REPLACED BY THE DEALER. NOW, WE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS INVOLVING THE PEDESTAL KIT. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM. I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR THANK YOU, NICOLE SCHILT
I DRIVE A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING. I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE ABS LIGHT COMING ON AND OFF. IT DOES NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE THE SPEED I AM TRAVELING AND WHEN I COME TO A STOP IT BEGINS TO VIBRATE AND I REARENDED THE PEOPLE INFRONT OF ME. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH MY CAR STALLING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR UNIT. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND ALSO CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID NO PROBLEMS HAVE EVER BEEN DOCUMENTED...THEY NEED TO START CHECKING THIS SITE AND SEE THAT ALL OF THE PROBLEMS ARE THE SAME. *CW
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHEN THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, IT EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR AS IF IT WERE STUCK. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CARBON NEEDED TO BE CLEANED FROM THE THROTTLE BODY BUTTERFLY AT THE COST OF $90. THE CONTACT IS IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 53,000.
ON MARCH 5, 2012 I WAS REQUIRED TO PAY $95.00 FOR A FULL DIAGNOSTIC TO SATISFY [XXX] ([XXX] CORPORATE OFFICE). THE SERVICE WAS RENDERED BY CAPITAL CHRYSLER 200 WATERFIELD RIDGE PLACE, GARNER NC 27529. THE SERVICE REP [XXX] AND SERVICE MANAGER [XXX] INFORMED ME THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACEMENT LOOKED USED DUE TO THE RUST ON IT AND WAS CAUSING OTHER MECHANICAL FAILURES IN MY VEHICLE BUT WOULD NOT CONFIRM THIS IN WRITING. I DO NOT HAVE AN EXTRA $1000.25 SITTING AROUND TO PAY FOR A PART THAT CHRYSLER IS WELL AWARE OF IT BEING DEFECTIVE OR USED. CHRYSLER SETTLED A LAWSUIT IN 2005-6 WITH THE U. S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY FOR THE DEFECTIVE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. IN CLOSING, AS A RESOLUTION TO THIS MATTER I WOULD LIKE ALL REPAIRS RELATED TO THIS MATTER REPLACED AT NO EXPENSE TO ME BY A CERTIFIED CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP OF MY CHOOSING. LISTED BELOW ARE ADDITIONAL ISSUES I HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH MY CAR SINCE OWNING IT: 1.SECOND REPLACEMENT OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND 02 OXYGEN SENSORS 2.HEAD LIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHT GOING OUT FASTER THAN ANY OTHER CAR I HAVE OWNED. 3.HUMMING ENGINE NOISE, LESS ENGINE POWER THAN IT INITIALLY HAD, 4.FREQUENT REPLACEMENT OF THE BATTERY 3 TIMES IN5 YEARS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, AFTER ACCELERATING THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE AND LUNGED FORWARD BEFORE THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED AT ALL THE TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 126,000.
BROKEN MOTOR MOUNTS AND AXLE. ABS SENSORS HAD TO REPLACE BATTERY AND BOTH HEADLIGHTS ALL BEFORE 50000 MILES. 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND I DON'T KNOW WHY THESE MOTOR MOUNTS HAVE NOT BEEN RECALLED. I WAS DRIVING DOWN 436, WHEN I FELT MY ENGINE LIFT UP, AND SLAM DOWN ON THE FRAME. TURNS OUT BOTH ENGINE MOUNTS BROKE ON MY 3.5L V6 TOURING CHRYSLER PACIFICA. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, AND THE PARTS HAVE BEEN ON BACKORDER FOR OVER 5 MONTHS, AND WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, I CANT EVEN DRIVE THIS $42, 000 PIECE OF '!@#$% ANY MORE. *TR
AFTER 1 HR OF HIGHWAY DRIVING, TURNED IN PARKING LOT, CAR MADE STRANGE NOISE ON TURNING, SEEMED TO NOT WANT TO MOVE FORWARD. PARKED VEH FOR THE DAY. UPON RETURN TO VEHICLE TRIED TO BACK OUT OF SPOT, CAR MADE SAME NOISE, STOPPED, CHECKED ALL FLUIDS, CHECKED UNDER CAR/IN ENGINE. NOTHING VISIBLE, DROVE VEHICLE ACROSS PARKING LOT, HEARD LOUD NOISE, PARKED AGAIN, VISIBLE TRAIL OF FLUID AND PUDDLE UNDER VEHICLE. CALLED FOR TOW. TOW TRUCK DRIVER BACKED VEHICLE UP TO GET ON FLATBED, SEVERAL LARGE METAL PIECES FELL FROM UNDER VEHICLE. VEH TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. SERVICE AT DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THAT POWER TRANSFER UNIT HAD DISINTEGRATED, METAL HOUSING AND GEARS CAME APART FROM INSIDE OUT, DISINTEGRATION ALSO DESTROYED TRANSMISSION WITH METAL PIECES AND FILINGS. VEHICLE HAS APPROX 50,000 MILES-MOSTLY HIGHWAY MILES. 2005 PACIFICA HAS 70,000 MI WARRANTY, THE 2007 HAS LIFETIME POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THIS 2006 HAS 36,000 MILE WARRANTY. CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE WILL NOT ASSIST WITH COST OF REPAIR OR STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLE. WHAT DID THEY KNOW IN 2006 THAT MADE THEM NOT WARRANTY THEIR VEHICLE OR ITS PARTS PAST 36000 MILES? TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE ACCELERATING AT 25 MPH, THE ENGINE MADE KNOCKING NOISES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE ENGINE MOUNTS FAILED. NEW MOUNTS WERE ORDERED IN JANUARY OF 2009, BUT THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT ARRIVE UNTIL MARCH 10, 2009. THE CONTACT RECEIVED THE PARTS AND IS AWARE OF NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE ENGINE MOUNTS FOR THIS VEHICLE. HE WOULD LIKE THE MANUFACTURER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE FOR FREE SINCE THEY REALIZED THAT THERE WAS A MAJOR DEFECT. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 54,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
MY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING WITH THE 3.5 L V6 TENDS TO BURN EXCESSIVE OIL. IT APPEARS THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THIS ENGINE SEEM TO HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE. BETWEEN MY 3000 MILE OIL CHANGES, MY VEHICLE WILL LOSE 1-1.5 QUARTS OF OIL. THERE IS NO VISIBLE LEAKS AND WE ARE NOT SEEING ANY SMOKE COMING FROM MY TAIL PIPE. SOME WEBSITES HAVE INDICATED THE ENGINE DESIGN BEING AT FAULT. THEY SAY THE ENGINE GETS TOO HOT AND REMAINS TOO HOT CAUSING THE OIL TO PREMATURELY BREAK DOWN AND TURN TO SLUDGE. I STARTED NOTICING THE ISSUE AT ABOUT 60K MILES. I'M NOW AT 72K MILES. I'VE CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY INDICATED THAT 1 QUART PER 1000 MILES IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AND WITHIN MANUFACTURER TOLERANCES. THIS IS RIDICULOUS FOR A 2006 VEHICLE. AT JUST OVER 46,000 MY HEATER QUIT. IT STARTED OUT AS NOT WORKING ONLY WHEN YOU WERE IDLE BUT WOULD WORK WHEN DRIVING THEN IT PROGRESSED TO WHERE IT WOULD ONLY WORK AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND WOULD GO COLD IF YOU SLOWED OR STOPPED. NOW IT WILL NOT GET WARM AT ALL. IT HAS NOT BEEN IN THE SHOP YET. *TR
