WE TOOK OUR 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFIC IN FOR A REPAIR. THE MECHANIC CALLED TO REPORT THE ENGINE CRADLE IS SEVERLY RUSTED AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. BEFORE THIS WE NOTED SOME "CLUNKING" IN THE FRONT END BUT THOUGHT IT WAS A SUSPENSION ISSUE. WE DID NOT KNOW THAT THIS VEHICLE HAD THIS ENGINE CRADLE PROBLEM UNTIL THE MECHANIC PUT THE VEHICLE ON THE LIFT. WE ARE FACE WITH A VERY COSTLY REPAIR BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND ESSENTIALLY WORTHLESS. THE MECHANIC SAID WITHOUT WARNING THE ENGINE COULD HAVE CAME LOOSE AND IMPEADED THE ABILITY TO STEER OR BRAKE. IF WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY WE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE LOST CONTROL AND CRASHED.
MY ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTED THROUGH CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED.
MY SUBFRAME IS TOTALLY RUSTED OUT. IS VERY DANGEROUS. TEN YEAR OLD CAR, 100,000 MILES. IS VERY BIG RISK DRIVING IT WITH MY KIDS IN ITHE CAR. THANK YOU *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A DEALER FOR INSPECTION, THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE HAD CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
THE SUBFRAME OF THE VECHILE HAS CORROSION. AND IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THERE ARE OTHER COMPLAINTS BUT I'M LOOKING TO SEE IF HAS A RECALL.
BROUGHT CAR IN FOR REPAIR AND THE SHOP WOULD NOT EVEN LIFT THE CAR UP DUE TO THE SUB FRAME BEING IN SUCH POOR SHAPE. THEY ADVISED ME TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY OPEN RECALLS FOR THE ISSUE. UPON CALLING THE DEALERSHIP THEY LET ME KNOW THAT AS THERE ARE NOT ANY OPEN RECALLS ON THIS THEY DO KEEP THE ENGINE CRADLE IN STOCK AS THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE. THE PART ALONE IS ALMOST $2,000.00 AND NOT EVEN SURE WHAT THE LABOR WOULD BE AS OF YET. AS FAR AS THE REST OF THE COMPLAINTS GO LOOKS AS IT WILL BE OVER A $3,000.00 FIX. I HAVE FOUND OUT FROM THE DEALSHIP THAT THE PREVIOUS YEARS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE.
MY CAR FAILED INSPECTION BECAUSE MY MECHANIC NOTICED IT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS ROTTING AND HAD HOLES IN IT ALL OVER. SO HE SAID THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER PACIFICA'S AND THAT THEY WERE POORLY DESIGNED. TO REPAIR WOULD COST ME ABOUT $2000-2500. I FEEL HORRIBLE AND LIED TO BECAUSE CHRYSLER ISN'T TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECT. THAT KIND OF MONEY IS NOT IN MY BUDGET. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW SOMETHING SO IMPORTANT COULD BE OVERLOOKED BY CHRYSLER.....I'M REALLY FED UP.
MY ENGINE CRADLE IS ALMOST RUSTED THRU AND MY SUBFRAME IS AS WELL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE OCCUPANT DETECTION INDICATOR FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT FAILED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR COULD NOT BE CALIBRATED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
ENGINE CRADDLE RUST & CRACK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR SEAT BELTS FAILED TO LOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,499.
WHEN TAKING MY CAR FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE, THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED ME THAT MY CAR WOULD NOT PASS INSPECTION DUE TO SEVERE RUSTING OF THE ENGINE CRADLE. AFTER SEARCHING THE WEB, I FOUND THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND THAT CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM BUT FOR A VERY NARROW MANUFACTURING WINDOW. HOW LONG IS AN ENGINE CRADLE SUPPOSED TO LAST IF PROPERLY COATED? I ALSO SAW THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. ARE OTHERS IN THE SAME SITUATION GETTING ANY SATISFACTION FROM THIS ACTION? I SPENT $3,600 TO REPLACE THE ENGINE CRADLE WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM CHRYSLER. IF THIS IS A WIDE-SPREAD AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM, WHY ARE THEY JUST IGNORING IT? UNFORTUNATELY, I DON'T HAVE ANY PHOTOS OF THE ROTTED OUT CRADLE.
SUB FRAME WHICH HOLDS THE ENGINE HAS RUSTED THROUGH I SEVERAL LOCATIONS. ENGINE COULD "DROP" AT ANYTIME WHILE DRIVE THE CAR. 2005 MODELS CURRENTLY HAVE A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE.
TOOK CAR TO MECHANIC AND HE NOTICED THE MOTOR MOUNT SUBFRAME WAS COMPLETELY ROTTED OUT AND CRACKED THAT SUPPORTS THE ENGINE WEIGHT AND SUSPENSION OF THE CAR. THOUGH NO INCIDENT TOOK PLACE YET, THIS ISSUE COULD HAVE HAD THE ENGINE FALL OUT AT ANY TIME.
THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 25 MPH. IT KEPT FEELING AS IF IT WAS STALLING WHEN STOPPED AT LIGHT AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE. HARD TO GO UP INCLINES. AFTER BEING PARKED FOR 4 HOURS WE NOTICED THE CAR WAS SMOKING. I CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WHO DISCOVERED THAT THE INSULATION AND THE ENGINE WAS SMOLDERING. IT IS NOW AT EXCALIBUR BEING LOOKED AT. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WHEN WE DISCOVERED THE CAR WAS SMOKING, IT HAD BEEN PARKED FOR FOUR HOURS.
ENTERED THE FREEWAY AND AFTER REACHING SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 55-60 MPH I HEARD A LOUD SOUND THAT SOUNDED LIKE A SMALL EXPLOSION. SOMEONE DRIVING IN THE LANE NEXT TO ME BEGAN FRANTICALLY POINTING AT THE ENGINE OF MY CAR. IMMEDIATELY I SAW SMOKE AND FLAMES COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR'S HOOD. I PULLED OFF THE EXIT THAT I WAS APPROACHING, PARKED THE CAR AT THE CURB, JUMPED OUT THE CAR, DIALED 911. FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED IN A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND BY THIS TIME ENTIRE ENGINE AND HOOD WAS ON FIRE.THEY PUT THE FIRE OUT. CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO BE PLACED IN NEUTRAL OR ANY OTHER GEAR, BUT WAS STILL TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT PERFORMED REPAIRS TO FUEL INJECTORS AND OTHER COMPONENTS OF THE ENGINE ON FEBRUARY 2, 2016. DURING FEB. 2016 INCIDENT THE GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT GIVE POWER TO MAKE THE CAR ACCELERATE, CAR STARTED SMOKING AND GIVING OFF FUMES THAT SMELLED LIKE BURNING PLASTIC. CAR REPAIRS WERE MADE IN THAT INCIDENT. GOING TO HAVE DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED TO RESEARCH IF THERE IS A CONNECTION/RELATION BETWEEN FEBRUARY 2016 INCIDENT AND JUNE 2016 INCIDENT.
ON JUNE 21, 2016 TOOK VEHICLE TO CHRYSLER DEALER FOR EMISSION REPAIRS. INFORMED VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO RUSTED SUB-FRAME AND CRADLE WHICH HOLDS THE ENGINE. WENT BACK AND VIEWED VEHICLE. ENTIRE CRADLE, I.E. SUB-FRAME CORRODED. NEVER RECEIVED RECALL. OWNED VEHICLE SINCE 2007. ESTIMATE OF REPAIRS OF $5,000.00.
VEHICLE HAD CRADLE ROT REQUIRING COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE ASSEMBLY. HAD BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL NECHANIC TO DO SOME ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. MECHANIC OBSERVED THE RUST/ROT AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS SO SEVERE THAT HE WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME BECAUSE IF THE CRADLE BROKE COMPLETELY THROUGH THE ENGINE WOULD DROP TO THE STREET RENDERING THE VEHICLE 'TOTALED'
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED THAT THE TANK WAS EMPTY AFTER INDICATING THREE QUARTERS OF A TANK OF FUEL ONE MINUTE EARLIER. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ADD FUEL TO THE VEHICLE, BUT THE TANK WAS FULL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL LINES AND FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY A MONTH AND A HALF. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
"TAKATA RECALL" CAR HAS ONLY 70,000 MILES ON IT, BRAND NEW TIRES AND IS IN GOOD SHAPE, EXCEPT FOR RUST ON THE SUBFRAME AND MOTOR CRADLE! WE HAVE FOUND OUT RECENTLY THAT THERE IS MANY OF THESE 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICAS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT WE CAN NOT DRIVE THE CAR AS THE MOTOR WILL FALL OUT! IT IS VERY BAD! WE FEEL THAT YOU OWE US A EXPLANATION AND OR A SETTLEMENT ON THIS CAR! WE HAD TO BUY ANOTHER CAR THAT IS NOT IN OUR BUDGET! WE ARE SENIORS AND THINK THAT THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG! WE HAVE ALSO TALKED TO THE STATE OF ILLINOIS ON COMPLAINTS AND WE HAVE TALKED TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND TO NO AVAIL! PLEASE HELP US! THANK YOU *TR
"TAKATARECALL" THE MOTOR CRADLE IS CARRODED IN RUST AND THE PACIFICA IS ONLY GOT 70,000 MILES ON IT AND WE ARE NOT ABLE TO DRIVE IT ANY MORE AS THEY TOLD US THE MOTOR COULD FALL OUT! IT HAS BRAND NEW TIRES ON IT AND EVERYTHING IS NEW ON IT! THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE SUB FRAME IS ALSO RUSTED OUT! I HAVE SEEN SO MANY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICAS ON THE COMPLAINT LIST AND I AM SHOCKED THAT THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS! I DID SEND A COMPLAINT ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO, AND YOU DID NOTHING! THIS IS DANGEROUS IF WE HAD NOT KNOWN ABOUT IT, WE COULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE PACIFICA AND THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE ONLY WAY WE FOUND OUT ABOUT IT WAS I WAS CHECKING UNDERNEATH IT, AND THAT IS WHAT I FOUND! WE HAVE HAD MANY PEOPLE TELL US THAT IT IS NOT RIGHT THAT SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE TO HELP US. I HAVE SENT PICTURES BEFORE, AND I CAN SEND THEM AGAIN! PLEASE HELP US.
I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND FOUND OUT THE VEHICLE SUBFRAME IS ALMOST RUSTED OUT. THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 81000 MILES.
I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA WITH 70,000 MILES. WAS INSPECTING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AROUND THE MUFFLER AND HAPPENED TO NOTICE SOME EXCESSIVE RUST ON THE SUB FRAME AND UPON FURTHER LOOKING I WENT TO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE MOTOR CRADLE AND WHERE THE MOTOR CRADLE CONNECTS WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE SUB FRAME THERE WERE ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF DECAY AND CORROSION ON THE MOTOR CRADLE AND SPLITTING IN THE SUB FRAME. I BELIEVE THAT THERE WAS A SERIOUS OVER LOOK AND NEGLECT IN NOT TREATING THE SUB FRAME WITH SOME SORT OF ANTI CORROSIVE AT TIME OF ASSEMBLY AT THE FACTORY BY CHRYSLER.THE CAR WAS MANUFACTURED ON SEPTEMBER 2005.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUBFRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,000.
THE ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTED OUT MAKING THIS CAR EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS CAR HAS BEEN MAINTAINED THROUGHOUT ITS LIFE AND IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE OTHERWISE. HOWEVER, THE COST TO REPLACE THE CRADLE HAS BEEN QUOTED AT $2500.00.
TOOK MY 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE. THE CRADLE IS CRACKED AND RUSTED OUT. THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, AND THE REPAIR IS VERY EXPENSIVE. WE ARE NOW UNABLE TO USE OUR CAR. WE CAN'T AFFORD THE REPAIR, AND ARE NOT IN A POSITION TO PURCHASE A NEW ONE. IT APPEARS THAT THERE ARE A VERY LARGE NUMBER OF PACIFICA'S THAT ARE EFFECTED, AND CHRYSLER ONLY RECALLED A VERY SMALL PORTION OF THE PACIFICA'S. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART ON MY CAR, AND CHRYSLER SHOULD REPLACE THIS PART. THIS MISTAKE IS PUTTING PEOPLE'S LIVES IN DANGER.
DURING A ROUTINE SERVICE APPOINTMENT, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE CROSSMEMBER OF MY PACIFICA WAS DANGEROUSLY CORRODED AND THEIR WAS A HIGH PROBABILITY OF FAILURE THAT WOULD RESULT IN MY ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION FALLING OUT OF THE CAR. CHRYSLER ACKNOWLEDGED THE ISSUE BUT ONLY FOR 7,000 2004-5 PACIFICAS. CLEARLY THIS PROBLEM GOES BEYOND THIS NUMBER. MY CONCERN IS THAT THERE WAS NO NOTIFICATION FROM CHRYSLER THAT THIS PROBLEM EXISTED AND THERE ARE PROBABLY THOUSANDS OF PACIFICA OWNERS AT RISK OF CROSSMEMBERS FAILING.
MY VEHICLE STALLS WHEN REMAINING STILL, OR IF DRIVING IT WILL JUST SHUT OFF. TURNING LEFT AROUND A ROUND ABOUT IT WILL SHUT OFF. RECENTLY WHEN STOPPED IT WILL IDLE HIGH THEN SPUTTER AS IF IT WANTS TO SHUT OFF, SOMETIMES IT DOES. I KNOW THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR VEHICLES MADE UP TO THE DATE NOVEMBER 2004. MINE WAS MANUFACTURED MAY 2005, SHOULD THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE EVEN THOUGH MINE WAS MANUFACTURED ONE YEAR LATER AND STILL CAN HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM? JUST A NOTE, I HAVE YOUNG KIDS IN MY CAR. ANOTHER PROBLEM IS THE ENGINE, IN RESEARCHING I NOTICES THAT THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT RUSTING ENGINE MOUNTS OR BREAKING OF ENGINE MOUNTS. AS MAY COMPLAINTS THAT I HAVE READ, I BELIEVE THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. I HAVE AN ENGINE MOUNT THAT IS RUSTED AND WORN OUT. FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL THE 900 AND SOMETHING COMPLAINTS IN FORUMS, I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE FIXED. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT MY 2006 PACIFICA SHOULD BE IN THE STALLING RECALL NOTICE AND BE FIXED ALSO. ONE YEAR APART SHOULD NOT BE JUDGED IN A ISSUES. THIS HAPPENS A LOT AN MANY DATES, BUT I CAN ONLY PUT ONE.
FRONT SUB-FRAME HAS SUCH SEVERE RUST THAT THE CAR WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO PASS A NYS SAFETY INSPECTION.
WELL KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICAS, THE ENGINE CRADLE RUSTS DUE TO POOR BUILD AND DESIGN. THE CAR BECOMES UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF THE ENGINE FALLING OUT OF THE CAR. ALSO WILL NOT PASS AN INSPECTION. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT REGARDING THIS ISSUE. CHRYSLER WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! I HAVE TO KEEP PUTTING "BAND-AIDS" ON THIS JUST SO I CAN CONTINUE TO DRIVE MY CAR.
BROUGHT OUR 2006 PACIFICA IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND TIRE REPAIR. WAS TOLD THE SUBFRAME HAS ROTTED AWAY. OUR MECHANIC SAID HE PERSONALLY WOULD NOT TOO MANY MILES ON THE CAR AND THE REPAIRS WOULD COST ANYWHERE FROM $3,000 - $5,000.
THE ENGINE/SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER IS SEVERELY RUSTED THROUGH. THIS TYPE OF CORROSION IS NOT EVIDENT ELSEWHERE ON THE VEHICLE FRAME, ONLY ON THIS CROSSMEMBER. THIS PROBLEM HAS GAINED NATIONAL ATTENTION FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS YET CHRYSLER HAS CHOSEN NOT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR A MANUFACTURING DEFECT; NAMELY INADEQUATE ANTI-CORROSION COATING THICKNESS. I SPOKE TO A CHRYSLER REPRESENTATIVE TODAY AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE WITH THE $3,050 REPAIR/REPLACEMENT COST OF THIS FAILED COMPONENT. I HAVE ALL OF MY VEHICLE SERVICE DONE AT A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. I'VE HAD THEM INSPECT FOR THIS DEFECT IN THE PAST BUT THERE WERE PREVIOUSLY NO REPORTED ISSUES. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR ROUTINE OIL CHANGE YESTERDAY, THE MECHANIC WARMED ME OF THE NOW OBVIOUSLY UNSAFE SITUATION. IN FACT, I NORMALLY PURCHASE A MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP THAT LASTS TWO YEARS. THEY DECLINED TO SELL ME THE CONTRACT SITING THAT THE ENGINE COULD POSSIBLY FALL OUT OF THE VEHICLE WITHIN THAT TIME. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT CHRYSLER COULDN'T EVEN OFFER TO DISCOUNT THIS SIZABLE REPAIR BILL. I'VE FOUND NUMEROUS NEWS STORIES ONLINE ABOUT THIS EXACT SAME SAFETY ISSUE OCCURRING AROUND THE US YET NOTHING SEEMS TO BE DONE ABOUT IT. WHY?
SUBFRAME ROT BY THE ENGINE AREA. THIS IS ONLY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE DRIVERS SIDE IS FINE. I'VE READ ABOUT LEGAL ACTION TOWARDS CHRYSLER REGARDING PREMATURE ROTTING AND CORRODING FOR THIS CAR.
WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR NOT 11 MONTHS AGO WE WERE NEVER TOLD ABOUT ANY STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. A WEEK AGO WE NOTICED A BAD THUMPING AS WE WERE DRIVING, SO WE TOOK IT TO A CAR SHOP AND THAT'S WHEN THEY FOUND OVER 4 INCHES OF RUST ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ENGINE CRADLE AND THEY TOLD US IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
THE ENGINE FRAME IS RUSTING OUT. THE REST OF THE FRAME IS COMPLETELY FINE, BUT NOW I NEED TO HAVE THE ENGINE CRADLE COMPLETELY REPLACED.
THE ENGINE MOUNTS HAVE BROKEN, AND BEEN REPLACED, AND BROKE AGAIN. THE FLOORBOARD, HAS RUSTED THROUGH ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, AND THE FRAME IS RUSTING OUT. THE SUSPENSION IS BREAKING AND HAS NOW BLOW OUT 2 TIRES. THE ELECTRICAL PANEL /DASH, DOESN'T WORK AND CAUSES OTHER PROBLEMS. I DON'T LIVE BY SALT WATER AND HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THIS IS NOT A NEW PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL. GAS FUMES COME UP THROUGH THE FLOORBOARD, AND I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS SINCE I TOOK IT OFF OF THE DEALERSHIP. I AM A SINGLE MOM OF 3,AND AM NOT FINDING HELP FROM ANYONE. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME?
MY ABS LIGHT COMES ON CONSTANTLY WHETHER I'M PRESSING THE GAS OR APPLYING THE BRAKES. WHEN I'M DRIVING IN TOWN AND TRY TO STOP, THE BRAKES GET REAL SPONGY. THEY START SHAKING AND GRINDING AND I'M NOT ABLE TO STOP. I'VE HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO AVOID ACCIDENTS. IT HAPPENS ALMOST DAILY. THE CAR HAS UNDER 100,000 MILES.
I HAD TAKEN MY CAR IN A WEEK AGO FOR AN ISSUE WITH THE CAR MAKING LIKE A POPPING SOUND WHEN I TURN HARD. WELL AFTER MECHANIC DROVE IT AND THEN PUT IT ON A RACK TO TAKE A LOOK UNDERNEATH AND DO THEIR INSPECTION THEY TOLD US WE CANNOT DRIVE VEHICLE AS IT IS UNSAFE. THE CRADLE WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED AND I COULD STICK MY HAND IN IT. AT ANY POINT IN TIME IT COULD HAVE COMPLETELY FELL OFF AND WRECKED MY VEHICLE. IT COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. NOW WE ARE GOING TO BE STUCK WITH THE REPAIR BILL. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND SPOKE WITH AN AGENT NAMED BRITTNEY WHOSE ONLY RESPONSE WAS I AM SORRY THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO. EVEN AFTER EXPLAINING ANY TYPE OF ACCIDENT WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. THEY DO NOT CARE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO COVER ALL VEHICLES. I ONLY HAVE 75,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND THE CRADLE IS THE ONLY PART RUSTED. CHRYSLER DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANY OF THAT JUST THAT THE VEHICLE DOES NOT FALL WITHIN THE 2004 OR 2005 RANGE. PLEASE HELP SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE LOSES THEIR LIFE OVER THIS ISSUE.
WHILE CHECKING TIRES, NOTICED HOLES RUSTED THROUGH IN THE FRAME. TOOK THE CAR TO THE GARAGE AND MECHANIC PUT IT ON HOIST AND SAW THE WHOLE FRAME IS RUSTED IN THE ENGINE CARRIAGE AND SIDES. WHOLE UNDERSIDE IS READY TO FALL THROUGH. CAN'T BE WELDED, JUST REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE COMING TO A STOP, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS NOT DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHEN IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,800.

ENGINE CRADLE IS SEVERELY ROTTED AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT. SWAY BAR BUSHINGS AND FRONT AND REAR MOTOR MOUNTS NEED REPLACEMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE SUBFRAME WAS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.
YESTERDAY HAD NEW TIRES PUT ON THE CAR AND THE MECHANIC SAID, I NEED YOU TO COME SEE THIS. I LOOKED AND SAW MY FRAME RUSTING THROUGH. THERE WAS A REPORT ON TV ON THIS 2 YEARS AGO. SEEING HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON LINE ABOUT THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM! WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR A RECALL? WHEN IS THIS GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION GOING TO CARE? ISN'T THAT WHAT THIS IS SET UP FOR? THIS ISN'T JUST A HAND FULL OF COMPLAINTS.
DRIVING WITH KIDS FRONT OF VEHICLE KEPT FEELING AS IF THE WHOLE FRONT END WAS ABOUT YO FALL OFF. MECHANIC SD PROBABLY TIE ROD ENDS AND MOTOR MOUNT. TOOK TO MECHANIC WHEN THEY LIFTED THE CAR MY WHOLE ENGINE CRADLE WAS SEVERLY RUSTED, SEPERATED AND WAS TOLD LUCKY ENGINE DIDNT FALL THROUGH WHILE DRIVING. I CAN NOT SAFELY DRIVE CAR AND TO REPAIR IS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! BOUGHT AT A DEALERSHIP AUG 2012 THEY WILL NOT HELP WITH REPAIRS EITHER. I STILL OWE ON MY CAR AND IT COULD BE LIFE THREATNING TO DRIVE THIS CAR. VERY UPSET BUT THANKFUL ME AND THE KIDS DID NOT GET HURT. THE MECHANICS WERE IN SHOCK WHEN THEY SAW THE RUSTED OUT ENGINE CRADLE!
I AM PROUD OWNER OF A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA AND REGULARLY HAD IT SERVICED. WITH NO WARNING AT ALL, I WAS TOLD THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE IS COMPLETELY RUSTED AND THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I AM ASTONISHED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE CAR, YET IT WAS LIMITED TO A VERY FEW OF THE CARS. MY MECHANIC SAID HE HASN'T EVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT EVEN ON CARS 30 YEARS OLD! POTENTIAL INJURY/DEATH TO OCCUPANT AND OTHERS USING THE ROADS IF THE CRADLE FAILS AND ENGINE DROPS OUT WHILE DRIVING.CHRYSLER HAS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH PACIFICA'S SUSPENSIONS AND KNOWINGLY KEEPS THIS INFO FROM OWNERS AND REFUSES TO MAKE THE REPAIRS ( EST $5,023.86)S. BY THIS ACTION IT KNOWINGLY PUT OWNERS AT GRAVE RISK AND FINANCIAL DIFFICULTY. PEOPLE ARE LEFT WITH VEHICLES WITH NO RESALE VALUE AND THE RISK OF GREAT HARM.
THE CENTER BEARING/DRIVE SHAFT IS NO GOOD. I PREPAID THE DEALER IN MARCH OF 2016 FOR A NEW ONE. AS OF TODAY SEP 18, 2006 IT HA NOT COME IN YET. THE CAR IS UNDRIVEABLE. EXCUSE AFTER EXCUSE. I HAVE NOTIFIED THE MASS ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE. THERE INVESTIGATION. I ALSO HAVE A ROTTED SUB FRAME. AND THE DEALER WONT STAND BEHIND IT. I AM LOOKING TO START OR JOIN A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST CHRYSLER.
THE FRONT MEMBER OF THE CAR HAS ROTTED AWAY. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO FALL OUT.
MY GAS PEDAL STICKS. WHEN I TURN ON MY CAR TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPOT THE PEDAL WILL NOT MOVE UNLESS I PUSH DOWN HARD ON IT. TO AVOID HITTING CARS BACKING OUT OR PARKING LOTS YOU HAVE TO USE FORCE ON THE PEDAL TO MOVE THE CAR AND IT JERKS FORWARD FAST WITH NO CONTROL OTHER THAN TO HOLD YOUR FOOT OVER THE BRAKE AT THE SAME TIME SO YOU DO NOT ACCELERATE INTO A VEHICLE.
WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND FOUND OUT THE SUBFRAME ON THE VEHICLE WAS RUSTED OUT. TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC. AFTER RESEARCHING I HAVE FOUND MANY POSTS ON THIS HAPPENING TO MANY PEOPLE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. PLEASE CHECK INTO THIS ISSUE, IT SEEMS THAT SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT WITH THIS PART OF THE VEHICLE. THE CAR IS IN PERFECT SHAPE NO RUST OR CORROSION ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE VEHICLE.
