AS I HAD MY CAR SERVICED THE MECHANIC TOLD ME MY ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTING OUT. *TR
I HAD THE BRAKES REPAIRED IN 2012; THE NEXT MONTH THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED. TEN MONTHS LATER, THE SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I WAS TOLD IT WAS INSIGNIFICANT, THAT THE BRAKES ARE FINE. IN THE FALL OF 2013, I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A SHOP BECAUSE IT TRIED TO ACCELERATE WHILE I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKES. I SPENT OVER $800.00 HAVING A BUNCH OF CODES CLEARED WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND OTHER THINGS. THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS OFF FOR A FEW DAYS BUT CAME BACK ON. THERE WAS AN ERROR THAT READ GAS CAP. I REPLACED THE GAS CAP BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON. IN MARCH 2014 THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON, I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE CALIBERS BUT LATER WAS TOLD THAT I DIDN'T. I HAD SOMEONE ELSE TO CHECK AND THEY SAID THAT I NEEDED NEW FRONT BRAKES. I HAD THOSE REPLACED. ON 4/7/2014, I WAS LEAVING THE PARKING GARAGE AT THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE AND THE GAS PEDAL WAS STUCK. LUCKY FOR ME IT WAS ON A DOWNHILL SLOPE AND I WAS ABLE TO STOP AT THE STOP SIGN AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND PRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO UNSTICK IT. TODAY, APRIL 13, 2014 THE BRAKE LIGHT IS BACK ON AND THERE IS A NOISE IN THE FRONTEND. I LOVE MY CAR BUT IT JUST DOES NOT FEEL SAFE TO DRIVE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND RESUMED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE ROCKER ARMS, PISTONS AND ENGINE LIFTERS WOULD NEED REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED FROM THE TIE RODS SO THERE WAS COMPLETELY NO STEERING. I WAS TURNING FROM A MAIN ROAD TO A SIDE ROAD GOING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH. I AM INCLUDING A REPAIR BILL FROM A CHRYSLER-JEEP DEALER AND I FEEL THIS INCIDENT WAS A FACTORY DEFECT WITH THE VEHICLE AT THIS LOW MILEAGE TO COME APART. I THEREFORE WOULD APPRECIATE TO REFUND MY EXPENSES $1,279.90 PLUS $45 TOWING EXPENSE. UPDATED 3/31/14*CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCM AND FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 151,000.
WHILE DRIVING AROUND A CIRCLE I YIELDED THEN SLOWLY PROCEEDED AND HEARD A LOUD NOISE FROM FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL AREA. THE STEERING WENT. I WAS ABLE TO CAREFULLY GET IT TO A MECHANIC COME TO FIND OUT THE CRADLE HAD RUSTED, BROKE AND FELL AFFECTING THE STEERING. HE INFORMED ME IT WAS DANGEROUS FOR ME TO BE DRIVING IT AND THAT I WAS LUCKY I DIDN'T GET INTO AN ACCIDENT, ESPECIALLY WITH MY 2 KIDS IN THE CAR WITH ME. AFTER PROCESSING A CLAIM WITH CHRYSLER, HAVING IT TOWED THERE (AT MY EXPENSE) AND HAVING THE REGIONAL MANAGER TAKE A LOOK THEY ARE NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION. I DID SOME RESEARCH. THE 2004 & 2005 CRADLES ARE BEING COVERED BY CHRYSLER BUT NOT THE 2006 MODEL WHICH HAS THE EXACT SAME FRAME. I HAVE 2 CHILDREN, LUCKILY HAVE MANAGED TO PAY OFF THE CAR WITH NO PAYMENTS AND NOW STUCK PAYING FOR A RENTAL CAR UNTIL I FIGHT THIS ISSUE FURTHER. (LIKE MANY WORKING PAY CHECK TO CHECK TO GET BY) I FIND IT IRONIC THAT THEIR VERY OWN SERVICE MANAGER WAS "SHOCKED" THAT THEY AREN'T OFFERING TO FIX IT AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN DRIVING ON THE PARKWAY 70MPH WHEN IT BROKE AND MY STEERING WAS COMPROMISED ENDING IN A FATAL ACCIDENT. SO I'M POSTING ON HERE WITH THE HOPES OF SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE HELPING ME WITH THIS PROCESS. I KNOW FROM SEARCHING THERE ARE MANY OTHER PEOPLE OUT THERE DEALING WITH THE SAME RUST ISSUE AND FEELING HELPLESS. I CAN'T AFFORD A CAR PAYMENT OR THE $3000 TO GET IT FIXED NOR SHOULD I !!! IT HAS $87,500 MILES ON IT AND MANY MORE YEARS ON IT TO DRIVE HAD THIS NOT OCCURRED. I ALSO DON'T WANT IT ON MY CONSCIOUS SHOULD SOMEONE DIE FROM THIS ISSUE IN THE FUTURE. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. *TR
VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT 1 YEAR AGO FROM USED CAR DEALERSHIP, NO CARFAX AVAILABLE, HAD 120,000 MILES,RAN GREAT FOR 4 MONTHS. STARTED HAVING STALLING PROBLEMS, CHECK LIGHT COMING OFF/ON, HAD DIAGNOSED AS POSSIBLE FUEL PUMP GAGE READING WRONG, CATALYTIC CONVERTER POSSIBLE. HAD CHECK LIGHT RESET, CONTINUED TO HAVE MAJOR STALLING OF ENGINE AT ANY SPEED. REPLACED BOTH PRIMARY AND SECONDARY FUEL PUMP, CATALYTIC CONVERTER, 02 SENSOR (REAR). TOTAL REPAIRS $2,718.74, STILL HAS SAME PROBLEM. PROBLEM WHEN VEHICLE STALLS, LOSS OF POWER UNEXPECTEDLY, LOSS OF CONTROL DUE TO SHUTDOWN CAUSES CONCERN, ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN, EXPENSES BEYOND EXPECTATIONS FOR GENERAL MAINTENANCE OF VEHICLE. NO HELP FROM CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. SAYS MILEAGE TOO HIGH, NO WARRANTY FOR DEFECT, BEYOND DEALERSHIP SCOPE OF CONCERN FOR CUSTOMER. *TR
WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55-60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THROUGH A VERY DANGEROUS CURVE (S-CURVE), IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, MY VEHICLE JUST SHUT OFF. AFTER SAFELY PULLING OVER (DIFFICULTLY) AND STOPPING I LET IT SIT WHILE CALLING MY HUSBAND. THEN THE VEHICLE STARTED BACK UP NO PROBLEM AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES, FROM THAT POINT FORWARD THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY STAY RUNNING FOR 5-7 MINUTES, THEN WHILE TRYING TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY STAY RUNNING FOR 3-5 SECONDS AND NOW SOMETIMES WON'T EVEN START AT ALL. AFTER FINALLY TOWING TO A DEALERSHIP BELIEVING IT WAS THE SKIM MODULE WE WERE TOLD THAT IT IS THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE THAT IS BAD AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. IN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I FIND THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THE SAME VEHICLE AND YEAR FOR THESE SAME EXACT TYPE ISSUES, BUT HAVE BEEN TOLD NOW BY 2 DEALERSHIPS AND THE DAIMLER CHRYSLER CORPORATION THAT MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE CHECKED BY THE VIN # IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. *TR
RECCALL F44 (FUEL PUMP MODULE). THIS RECALL WAS FOR REPAIR/REPLACE OF MODULE DUE TO FACT THAT PACIFICA CARS STALL WITH FAULTY UNIT. MY CAR HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES. I TOOK TO DEALER AS INSTRUCTED BY RECALL LETTER. THE DEALER SAID THEY MADE REPAIR. MY VEHICLE CONTINUES TO STALL. DEALER WOULD NOT REPLACE PART AGAIN. I AM STUCK WITH A VEHICLE I CANNOT DRIVE BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
WE WERE GOING WEST BOUND IN A TWO LINE STREET,LIGHT WAS GREEN FOR US, WHEN ALL OF SUDDEN WE WERE HIT IN DRIVERS SIDE (T BONE) BY ANOTHER VEHICLE COMING SOUTH TO NORTH THAT RAN A RED LIGHT ALSO ON A TWO LINE STREET , SPEED OF OTHER VEHICLE UNKNOWN, IMPACT SEND US OVER A 2 TO 3 FEET RETAINER BRICK WALL AND CRASHING INTO A BRICK FENCE AND INTO A TREE,OUR VEHICLE HAS SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS WHICH DID NOT DEPLOYED. WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE FOR THE SAFETY CRASH RATING AND RECOMMENDATIONS ACCORDING TO THE SALES PERSON AT A CAR DEALER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MOTOR BRACKET AND THE MOTOR MOUNTS FRACTURED. AS A RESULT, THE ENGINE WAS MOUNTED ON TOP OF THE STARTER AND IGNITED A FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
I OWN A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFIC. WHILE TRAVELING 35 MPH THE ABS LIGHTS, AND BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED, FOLLOWED BY A CHIME NOISE THAT SOUNDED THROUGH OUT THE VEHICLE.THEN A TICKING NOISE PRIOR TO THE VEHICLE LOOSING ALL ELECTRICAL POWER, THIS HAPPENS EVERYDAY! THIS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND WHEN THIS HAPPENS I HAVE TO SIT AND WAIT FOR AWHILE, ONCE FOR MORE THAN 30 MIN THEN CAR CUTS BACK ON AND WORKS FINE UNTIL THE ABS LIGHTS, COME ON AND THE ENGINE LIGHT FOLLOWED BY THE CHIMES AND THE TICKING THE CAR CUTS OFF AGAIN. CAN NOT GET A MECHANIC TO FIX IT THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX IT THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT THE RECALL AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED. PROBLEM #2 IS THE MOUNTS THAT HOLD THE MOTOR ARE CORRODED AND RUSTED. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS ANOTHER DEFECT AND THERE HAVE BEEN INSTANCES WHERE THE MOTOR JUST FALLS OUT. TWO MOUNTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT I STILL HEAR THE KNOCKING AND A PULLING SENSATION SOMETIMES. FIRST INCIDENT WAS IN JANUARY THE PAST TWO MONTHS IT HAPPENS EVERYDAY AT LEAST ONCE A DAY WHERE THE CAR JUST CUTS OFF. *JS
THIS ISSUE HAS NOW HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, IT WILL COMPLETELY SHUTDOWN (STALL). I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD EVERY TIME. I CAN TURN THE KEY OFF AND THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE WITHOUT ISSUE. *TR
VEHICLES LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE GONE OUT MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING. AFTER REPLACING THEM MULTIPLE TIME THEY HAVE NOW QUIT WORKING COMPLETELY. PREVIOUS MODEL YEARS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND HAVE HAD A RECALL. I THINK THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED, REGARDLESS OF AGE OR MILEAGE. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. *TR
MY VEHICLE STALLS AT THE FIRST MOVEMENT FROM A LONG PARKED POSITION. I HAVE HAD THE SENSOR FIXED AND FUEL PUMP REPLACED. THESE THINGS HELPED TEMPORARILY. IT IS NOW DOING THE SAME THINGS. I NOTICED A RECALL FOR THE POWER TRAIN OF 2006 MODEL CHRYSLER PACIFICA BUT WHEN I ENTER MY VIN IT STATES MY VEHICLE IS NOT IN THE RECALL. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE HAS A FAULTY POWER TRAIN. *TR
FIRST BEGAN 11/2013 WHEN HEADED OUT AFTER PICKING UP MY DAUGHTER, SLOWED TO ENTER LEFT TURN LANE (ON MAJOR BUSY INTERSECTION AT NIGHT!) AND ENTIRE CAR SIMPLY DIED - FRIED THE BATTERY (IT WAS ONLY A YR OLD & THE SECOND TIME I HAD REPLACED IT SINCE I PURCHASED IT TWO YRS PRIOR FROM ORIGINAL OWNER) NEARLY WAS HIT BY SEVERAL CARS BEFORE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED (SO DEAD COULDN'T EVEN BE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL!) AFTER MULTIPLE OPINIONS BY SEVERAL MECHANICS HAD TO FACE THE FACT THAT ISSUE W/RODS CAUSED METAL PIECES TO INFILTRATE OIL (ALL OIL CHANGES ON TIME, PREVIOUS BEFORE INCIDENT 6 WEEK PRIOR) CAUSING ALL ENGINE BEARS TO GO. LUCKILY, WAS ABLE TO WORK OUT A FAIRLY DECENT DEAL TO THE TUNE OF $1200, ONLY TO BE FACED W/MULTIPLE ADDITIONAL NEEDED REPAIRS THEREAFTER AND OVER A YEAR LATER, I'M STILL TRYING TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF WHY ENGINE TOTALLY STALLS WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP IF MY A/C IS ON - CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE I PURCHASED IT & STILL WON'T STAY OFF DESPITE MULTIPLE RE-SETS & COMPUTER CHECKS, AS IS ABS LIGHT (AGAIN, CHECKED MULTIPLE TIMES & SINCE NO ISSUE I HAVE LEFT IT AS IS) NOW BATTERY LIGHT ALSO COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY. ALL CODES COME BACK FINE, AND HOSES & SEALS ALL FINE.... AS OF TWO DAYS AGO, SEEMS I'M NOW LOOKING AT ENGINE CRADLE ISSUE AS WELL! NEARLY $3000 IN (JUST COUNTING THESE LATEST ISSUES!) AFTER REPLACING BATTERY FOR A THIRD TIME & TIRE REPLACEMENT (ALL 4) TWICE WITHIN A YEAR, IN ADDITION TO BREAKS & ROTORS FOR 2ND TIME IN 2 YEARS ...SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM W/THESE VEHICLES AND YET MY VIN # ISN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL...SHAME ON YOU CHRYSLER....I AM A SINGLE MOTHER, WHO HAS HAD ALL REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP & CANNOT AFFORD TO CONTINUE TO THROW $ INTO THIS ISSUE, AND AM AFRAID EVERY TIME MY KIDS ARE IN THE CAR THAT THE STALLING ISSUES WILL CAUSE A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AS THE SERVICE IMMOBILIZER WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER TRAIN MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
THERE ARE HOLES AND RUST ALL OVER THE ENGINE CRADLE. I SEE THAT THE 2004 AND 2005 MODELS HAVE RECALLS ON THEM AND WAS WONDERING HOW TO START ACTION ON THIS FOR 2006 MODELS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WOULD NOT START. THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED OVER SIX TIMES BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE COMPUTER AND THE ENGINE. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR, ABS BRAKE SENSOR AND THE SERVICE ENGINE SENSOR ILLUMINATED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL FAILURES AND THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO REMOVE ALL KEYS FROM THE KEY RING EXCEPT FOR THE FOB AND KEYS. THE DEALER ALSO REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE AIR BAG SENSOR CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE AND THE LOCAL AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED SEVERAL TIMES OF THE FAILURE, WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE AIR BAGS WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE AIR BAG SENSOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO DISPLAY THE CORRECT FUEL LEVEL AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE COAST THE VEHICLE ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE TO ADD FUEL AND DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 139,000.
DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON A THURSDAY AT AND AVERAGE OF AROUND 65 MPH THE VEHICLES RPM'S JUMPED UP TO 4,000 AND IT WAS LIKE IT DOWN SHIFTED. I STOPPED IMMEDIATELY TO CHECK FOR PROBLEMS AND THERE WEREN'T ANY VISIBLE SIGNS. I PROCEEDED HOME WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN A GEAR CAUSING ME TO ONLY TRAVEL A MAX OF 45MPH. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER WHICH SAID THERE WAS A RECALL FOR MY MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR VEHICLE BUT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. *TR
WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN AND MY LOW BEAMS SHUT OFF. THE HIGHBEAMS CONTINUED TO WORK AS WELL AS MY MARKER LIGHTS, AND FLOOD LIGHTS. I REPLACED BOTH BULBS AND STILL HAD NO LOW BEAMS. EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS EXCEPT THEM. DID RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET TO LEARN THE 2005 MODELS HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE AND THERE WAS A RECALL BUT THE 2006 MODELS ARE NOT COVERED EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME ISSUE. *TT
VEHICLE INSPECTED ON 08/22/2013, FOUND ENGINE CRADLE RUSTED THROUGH ALSO UNITIZED BODY SUPPORT STRUCTURE UNDER OUTER ROCKER COVER IS CRUMBLING IN LARGE FLAKES. VEHICLE OWNED SINCE NEW, HAD REAR TAILGATE RUST REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY A FEW YEARS BACK. VEHICLE MAJOR COMPONENT UNITIZED BODY STRUCTURALLY UNSOUND. VEHICLE CANNOT BE SOLD TO GENERAL PUBLIC WITHOUT DISCLOSURE, BODY STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY IS COMPROMISED. *TR
THE SUBFRAME OF MY 06 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IS RUSTING AND MY MECHANIC AND CHRYSLER DEALER BOTH EXPLAINED THAT THIS IS VERY UNUSUAL FOR A CAR THAT IS ONLY SEVEN YEARS OLD. THE ESTIMATED COST TO FIX THIS IS $1051.70. *TR
I HAD MY CAR IN PARK, WAITING IN LINE AT A DRIVE THRU. WHEN I TRIED TO PUT IT IN DRIVE, IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I CALLED AAA AND THE TOW TRUCK OPERATOR CAME. I WAS IN THE BANK DRIVE THRU WITH MY CAR IN PARK. I WENT TO PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND IT WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. DURING A ROUTINE INSPECTION OF OUR VEHICLE THE MECHANIC STATED VEHICLE WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION EXCEPT THAT THE SUBFRAME (ENGINE CRADLE) HAD A ONE FOOT SECTION THAT WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH. HE ALSO STATED THAT SINCE THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY 76000 MILES ON IT THAT THIS SHOULD NOT BE OCCURRING. OTHER MECHANICS IN THAT SHOP CONCURRED. CHRYSLER HAD, IN THE PREVIOUS TWO MODEL YEARS (04 & 05), EXTENDED THE WARRANTIES TO 10 YEARS/150,000 MILES (CHRYSLER DOCUMENT 0004817/#45543/X26) ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY FOR A FAULTY PRODUCT AND COVERING THE EXPENSES INCURRED BY CONSUMER MAKING THEIR VEHICLES ROADWORTHY AND SAFE. THIS IS TRULY A SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED BY THE MANUFACTURER AS THIS COMPONENT SUPPORTS THE ENGINE AND FRONT SUSPENSION/STEERING ASSEMBLIES. CALLS TO CHRYSLER HAVE NOT BEEN PRODUCTIVE. I MADE CLAIM THROUGH MY INSURANCE AND HAD VEHICLE INSPECTED BY LOCAL SHOP, AND I HAD MY MECHANIC LOOK TO SEE IF DAMAGE TO VEHICLE WAS NOTICEABLE WAS NOT HANDLING CORRECTLY AFTER ACCIDENT. WHEN ACCELERATES OR DECELERATES THE VEHICLE WILL LUNGE FORWARD. TOOK VEHICLE TO PEERLESS TIRE CO. AFTER MECHANIC POINTED OUT THE WRONG SIZE AND MODEL OF TIRE ON REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE. AFTER ACCEPTING FAULT WANTED TO TAKE VEHICLE TO [XXX] PAINT AND BODY TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. WHEN THE ESTIMATE WAS BEING DONE AND VEHICLE WAS ON LIFT...[XXX] AND MECHANIC POINTED OUT THE WHOLE MOTOR CARRIAGE HAD COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT AND CORRODED. THEY HAD NOT SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER AND EXPLAINED THIS ISSUE. HAD TO GO AHEAD WITH INSURANCE CLAIM AND WAIT FOR ADJUSTORS TO DETERMINE FAULT OF ACCIDENT.THE VEHICLE IS TOTALLY UNSAFE TO DRIVE, FEELS LIKE THE ENGINE IS TIPPING FORWARD WHEN ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE IM SHOCKED AND APPALLED THAT 2 PREVIOUS MODEL YEARS HAVE SAME ISSUES WHICH ARE NOT BEING ADDRESSED FOR THE 2006. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND ENGAGING THE TRANSMISSION INTO REVERSE THE VEHICLE ENGINE FAILED. I THEN TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE PARK POSITION. ABOUT A WEEK LATER MY WIFE TOLD ME THAT THIS PROBLEM HAD HAPPEN TO HER 2-3 TIMES OVER A COUPLE DAYS TIME. I HAVE HAD IT HAPPEN 2 ADDITIONAL TIMES AND TODAY I WAS HAVING TO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL WHEN STOPPED OR IDLING TO KEEP THE ENGINE RUNNING FOR A SHORT 20 MILE DRIVE HOME FROM WORK. WE HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA THAT WE PURCHASED USED IN 2008 WITH 26K MILES. IN 2011 WE STARTED EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS. SIMULTANEOUSLY, WE CAME UP WITH CODES P0700, P0420 AND P0456 AND HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT , THE CATALYST CONVERTER REPLACED AND NEW FUEL PUMP DUE TO THE EVAP LEAK. IN A MATTER OF MONTHS, WE SPENT $5,900 ON REPAIRS AND IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO PASS INSPECTION. WE WERE STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON THIS CAR AND AFTER CONTACTING CHRYSLER REPEATEDLY, WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE, SO WE WERE FORCED TO MAKE THESE REPAIRS. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH, WE FOUND THAT MANY PACIFICAS HAD MANY OF THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT WE WERE EXPERIENCING AND THAT CHRYSLER REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUES.WE HAVE HAD ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE POWER SEATS, BLUETOOTH , SIDE VIEW MIRRORS. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHORTENS THE LIFE OF THE BATTERY AND WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY PREMATURELY SEVERAL TIMES. NOW WE NEED AN ABS SENSOR, AND THE CAR LEAKS IN THROUGH THE FRONT WINDOW SEALS ON BOTH SIDES WHEN IT RAINS. WE HAVE JUST FOUND OUT WHEN WE HAD THE CAR IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE, THAT OUR ENGINE CRADLE(SUB FRAME) IS RUSTED AND IS A HAZARD TO DRIVE AND WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $2,500 TO REPLACE! WE JUST MADE OUR LAST PAYMENT ON THIS CAR AS WE FOUND THIS INFORMATION OUT. WE HAVE ALSO FOUND OUT THAT MANY PACIFICAS HAVE THIS RUSTING PROBLEM AND CHRYSLER DID ACKNOWLEDGE THIS FOR 2004 & 2005 MODELS BUT NOT AFTER. WE ARE AWARE THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT AND WANT TO BE SURE THAT THE NTSA IS AWARE OF THIS. THIS IS A FAMILY CAR AND THERE MAY BE MANY UNSUSPECTING PACIFICA OWNERS AND THEIR FAMILIES OUT THERE WHO ARE AT RISK OF INJURY OR POSSIBLY LOSS OF LIFE. SAFETY HAZARD PRIMARY FUEL PUMP CRACK ON EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP NOZZLE. EXTERNAL HOSE CONNECTING PRIMARY AND SECONDARY FUEL PUMPS ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE WAS ~3-5 CM TOO SHORT. HOSE WAS STRETCHED TO CONNECT FUEL PUMPS, EVENTUALLY CAUSING THE CONNECTOR NOZZLE TO CRACK (BREAK) AND LEAK FUEL. HOSE REPLACEMENT PART HAS BEEN MODIFIED, BUT OWNERS OF ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE WOULD NEVER BE AWARE OF THIS UNTIL/UNLESS SPECIFIC SERVICE IS PERFORMED. RESULT = COSTLY REPAIR TO REPLACE BOTH FUEL PUMP AND HOSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AS THE FUEL INDICATOR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING, THE FUEL FILLER NECK WOULD REFUSE THE FUEL EVEN BEFORE THE TANK WAS FULL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V432000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 122,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE TRANSMISSION MOUNTS HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,984.

THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE COMPUTER MEMORY WAS DELAYING AND CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT FROM PARK.THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 06V432000 (POWER TRAIN). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,650 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 104,000.

MECHANIC IDENTIFIED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTING THROUGH AND REQUIRES REPLACEMENT SINCE IT COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF IT FAILED. EVEN THOUGH THIS KNOWN DEFECT HAS RESULTED IN CHRYSLER EXTENDING THE WARRANTY ON 2004 AND 2005 MODELS, THEY WILL NOT COVER THE DEFECT ON 2006. *TR
I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT KEPT COMING ON. I TOOK IT UP TO MY MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES & HE COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. HE FINALLY PERFORMED A SMOKE TEST. WAS UNABLE TO FIND ANY LEAKS. HIS COMPUTER SAID I HAD A SMALL LEAK DETECTED. HE SAID MY FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS THE PROBLEM & IT WOULD PROBABLY COST AROUND $1,000 TO FIX SINCE HE HAD TO DROP THE GAS TANK. COULDN'T GET ANYWHERE WITH CHRYSLER. I'VE BEEN DRIVING NOW A YEAR & A HALF PLUS NOW MY GASCAP LIGHT IS ALSO ON. I DO HAVE MY MECHANIC CHECK WHENEVER I GO GET MY OIL CHANGE & HE RESETS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, BUT IT DOES COME BACK ON WITHIN A DAY. I'VE BEEN ON SEVERAL WEBSITES & THIS IS A CHRYSLER PROBLEM THAT THEY NEED TO FIX. I DON'T WANT TO END UP WHERE I STALL OUT LIKE WHAT I'VE BEEN READING. *TR
