CPSC: WE ARE OWNERS OF TWO (2) DIONO RADIAN RXT CARSEATS THAT WE HAVE INSTALLED IN OUR 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CAR SEATS APPEAR TO BE INCOMPATIBLE WITH OUR VEHICLE-- THE SEATS COME LOOSE EASILY, MOVE AROUND BACK TO FRONT AND SIDE TO SIDE SIGNIFICANTLY IN THE SEAT. *DT *JS *TR
WE ARE ON OUR SECOND PACIFICA AFTER THE FIRST WAS BOUGHT BACK BY CHRYSLER DUE TO MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES (VEHICLE WOULD NOT START OR FUNCTION CORRECTLY, DEALER COULDN'T FIX IT). NOW ON OUR SECOND PACIFICA WE HAVE HAD CONSTANT TRANSMISSION ISSUES...FIRST TRANSMISSION STARTED SLAMMING INTO GEAR (FEELS LIKE YOU ARE BEING REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE, THIS CAN BE AT SLOWER SPEEDS < 20 MPH WHILE GOING STRAIGHT OR TURNING), THEY RESET COMPUTER, THAT DIDN'T FIX IT, SO THEN THEY REPLACED THE VALVE BODY IN THE TRANSMISSION (2 SEPERATE SHOP TRIPS). A COUPLE MONTHS LATER IT STARTED SLAMMING INTO GEAR AGAIN (SLOW SPEEDS < 20, TURNING AND GOING STRAIGHT), SO THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AFTER PUTTING US IN A RENTAL FOR ANOTHER MONTH, ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER THIS TRANSMISSION HAD THE SAME EXACT ISSUE, SLAMMING INTO GEAR AT LOW SPEEDS (< 20, TURNING OR GOING STRAIGHT). SO WE ARE ON OUR 2ND PACIFICA AND THE 3RD TRANSMISSION NOW AND ARE STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS WE INITIALLY HAD (SLAMMING INTO GEAR LIKE YOU ARE BEING REAR ENDED AT SLOW SPEEDS < 20 GOING STRAIGHT OR TURNING)! THERE ARE SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THIS TRANSMISSION THAT CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RESOLVE! THIS IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THE WAY IT IS, BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW THE SITUATION YOU WILL BE DRIVING IN WHEN IT HAPPENS.
When driving my car will suddenly stall like it’s trying to change gears and jerks back pretty bad when it speeds back up. I e taken it to the dealership a few times and they said it’s normal. It seems to be getting more and more often. I also have bubbled paint on the hood of my car.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300. *BF *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED , ON ANY SURFACE, THE SENSATION OF SWAY AND BOBBING IS EXCESSIVE AND OF CONCERN. THE DEALER REPORTS THAT IT IS NORMAL. OUR 2005 MODEL WAS TOTALLY FREE OF ALL SWAY AND BOBBING THUS VERY COMFORTABLE FOR ALL PASSENGERS. (THE DEALER REPORTS THE SCRAPING IN THE FRONT WAS NORMAL. IT WAS LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE SPLASH SHIELD UP FRONT WAS ABOUT TO FALL OFF.) THERE ARE SERVICE RECORDS I CAN FAX.
I WAS DRIVING IN MY RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD, I HAD SLOWED DOWN AT A CORNER TO LET A CHILD ON A BIKE PASS ME BY. WHEN THE CHILD PASSED ME, I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS AND THE CAR MOVED AND THEN STOPPED - EVERYTHING SHUT OFF, THE LIGHTS, THE ENGINE, EVERYTHING. I AM NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED NEXT- PEOPLE BEHIND ME WERE HONKING LIKE CRAZY AND I IT TOOK ME A FEW SECONDS TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO NEXT. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND PUSHED THE START/STOP BUTTON AND CAR STARTED AGAIN. THERE WAS AN ERROR MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD (THE A WITH AN ARROW AND EXCLAMATION POINT), I DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND LEFT THE CAR WITH THEM. THE CONSUMER STATED THE UCONNECT STOPPED WORKING AS WELL AS THE AIRBAG. *JS *JS
VEHICLE STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES AT LOW SPEEDS AND THE DEALER HAS NO FIX FOR IT. I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND PREFER IF CHRYSLER BUYS IT BACK. ATTACHED ARE SOME PICTURES I TOOK OF THE MESSAGE IT DISPLAYED WHEN STALLED
WHILE WAITING AT A RED LIGHT MY AUTO STOP/START SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY ACTIVATED AS USUAL. HOWEVER, THIS TIME WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE ENGINE DID NOT AUTOMATICALLY START. INSTEAD, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE AND MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. A WARNING CHIME ALERTED ME TO THE PROBLEM. ALSO, A MESSAGE INSTRUCTED ME TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND THE PUT IT INTO PARK AND RESTART IT. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND THEN ON THE CAR MOVED.
BRAND NEW... OWNED LESS THAN A MONTH... 750 MILES...WE LIVE AT THE TOP OF A VERY STEEP HILL WITH A SHARP CURVE AT THE BOTTOM. I REVERSED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY ONTO THE STREET AND SHIFTED THE VAN INTO DRIVE. I FELT THE CAR GO INTO GEAR AND I STARTED ROLLING DOWN THE HILL, AS IT'S A STEEP INCLINE YOU PICK UP SPEED QUICKLY. AS THE VAN GAINED SPEED DOWN THE HILL SOMETHING FELT "WRONG" AND I SUDDENLY REALIZED I WASN'T IN FULL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. WITH THE SHARP CURVE QUICKLY APPROACHING I STOMPED THE BRAKE AND BROUGHT THE VAN TO A STOP. I PUT THE VAN IN PARK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL AND TRIED UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS GOING ON. I PUT THE VAN BACK IN DRIVE, FELT IT GO INTO GEAR BUT WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE NOTHING HAPPENED. PUT IN IT REVERSE, FELT IT GO INTO GEAR AND IT STARTED TO GO BACKWARDS A LITTLE HERKY JERKY BUT WHEN I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR NOTHING HAPPENED. I HAD TO PUT IT BACK IN PARK, TURN IT OFF AND THEN RESTART IT BEFORE IT I COULD DRIVE IT BACK UP TO MY HOUSE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING. TURNS OUT IT WAS THE DAY AFTER THE DEALER RECEIVED NOTICE OF THE RECALL. I WAS TOLD MY VIN NUMBER FELL UNDER THE RECALL, MY PCM NEEDED NEW SOFTWARE AND THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL CHRYSLER PROVIDED THE FIX WHICH WASN'T EXPECTED UNTIL APRIL AND THEY COULDN'T EVEN SELL THE ONES ON THE LOT. CALL CHRYSLER! I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER ALMOST EVERYDAY FOR THE LAST 2 WEEKS AND ALL I GET IS A "SORRY BUT I CAN'T DO ANYTHING, WAITING TO HEAR FROM THE REGIONAL SUPERVISOR". I LIVE IN ATLANTA AND IF THAT HAPPENED ON I-285 (5-6 LANES) YOU WOULD BE ROADKILL! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY IN HELL YOU COULD STOP THE CAR, PUT IT IN PARK, STOP THE ENGINE AND THEN RESTART SAFELY. AT THIS POINT IT'S A $32K ROLLING DEATH TRAP THAT CHRYSLER WON'T/CAN'T DEAL WITH... 100% UNSAFE FOR MY WIFE AND 3 KIDS!
2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA RECALL MY CAR STALLS UPON SLOWING DOWN OR STOPPING. IT ALSO FLUTTERS, LIKE IT IS TRYING NOT TO STALL WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER THERE IS ALSO AN OPEN RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE ON MY CAR AND VIN # BUT THEY ARE TELLING ME THEY DO NOT HAVE THE REMEDY YET. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE REMEDY YET, THE CAR SHOULD NOT BE RETURNED TO ME FOR CLEAR UNSAFE REASONS AND A LENDER CAR SHOULD BE GIVEN UNTIL THE RECALL CAN BE FIXED. CORPORATE CHRYSLER HAS ALSO YET TO ANNOUNCE WHEN THE NEW SOFTWARE UPDATE WILL BE READILY AVAILABLE, CAUSING MY DEALERSHIP TOWN AND COUNTRY IN LEVITTOWN TO NOT HAVE ANY ANSWERS FOR ME. I SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN BACK A CAR THAT IS UNSAFE, THAT CAN STALL AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. IT SHOULD BE KEPT UNTIL FIXED AND ANSWERS SHOULD BE GIVEN.
THE DRIVER SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR ON VARIOUS OCCASIONS ALMOST COMPLETES THE CLOSING PROCESS AS IT COMES TO LOCK IT BEEPS AND BOUNCES BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND NO OBSTRUCTIONS IN THE WAY. IN OTHER INSTANCES MORE RECENTLY THE TRANSMISSION HAD A ROUGH SHIFT ON LOWER GEARS. THE REAR AUTOMATIC CARGO DOOR STARTS OPENING AND GETS STUCK AT THE MIDWAY POINT.
STOPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE ENGINE AUTO SHUT OFF LIKE NORMAL AT A LIGHT, BUT WHEN GREEN LIGHT CAME AND GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED, AN ALERT POPPED UP ON DASH SAYING PARKING WAS ENGAGED. PUT INTO PARK AND TRIED TO RELEASE PARKING BRAKE PARKING BRAKE ACTUALLY ENGAGED. COULD NOT DISENGAGE AFTERWARDS, FOOT BRAKE WAS HELD WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DISENGAGE PARKING BRAKE. TRIED TURNING VEHICLE OFF AND ON WITH NO RESULT 1ST TIME. WHILE ENGINE ON, TRIED TO RESET PARKING BRAKE AGAIN, HOLDING FOOT BRAKE, NO JOY. DRIVE SELECTOR WOULD NOT SWITCH TO NEUTRAL IN ORDER TO MOVE VEHICLE OFF ROAD. TURNED VEHICLE OFF AND ON AGAIN, THEN WAS ABLE TO RESET PARKING BRAKE TO OFF AND FINALLY PUT VEHICLE IN DRIVE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED STEVENS CREEK CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM AT (408) 248-180 (LOCATED AT 4100 STEVENS CREEK BLVD, SAN JOSE, CA 95129), NORMANDIN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM FIAT AT (408) 266-9500 (LOCATED AT 900 CAPITOL EXPRESSWAY AUTOMALL, SAN JOSE, CA 95136), AND SOUTH COUNTY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM AT (408)-842-8244 (LOCATED AT 455 AUTOMALL DR, GILROY, CA 95020). ALL THREE DEALERS CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (ALFA ROMEO OF HUNTSVILLE, 6523 UNIVERSITY DR NW STE A, HUNTSVILLE, AL 35806) AND WAS REFERRED TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE STATE'S ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IS APPARENTLY CLAIMING TO MAKE REPAIR FOR THE SUDDEN STALLING RECALL, WITHOUT DOING THE WORK. ON MOPAR.COM IT SHOWS I HAD AN UPDATE FOR THIS ON JAN 11, 2018. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN OIL CHANGE THAT DAY, BUT I CANCELED IT AND HAVEN'T BEEN IN SINCE. THERE IS NO WAY THEY UPDATED MY VAN THEN OR LATER, SINCE THE VEHICLE WASN'T THERE. YET NHTSA SHOWS NO OPEN RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE, AND MOPAR SHOWS THE RECALL WORK DONE ON A DAY THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE.
VEHICLE ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH IN TRAFFIC. TOTAL LOOKS OF POWER STEERING ALSO OCCURRED. OUR FAMILY WITH SMALL CHILDREN ALSO WERE IN THE CAR. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE IF IT OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON A BUSIER ROAD. ONCE STOPPED THE DASH ALERTED US TO SHIFT TO PARK TO RESTART VEHICLE. WE DID BUT CAR WOULD NOT START. NO ATTEMPT TO TURN OVER AT ALL. PUT FLASHERS ON AND PARTS OF DASH, UCONNECT SCREEN AND INTERIOR LIGHTS FLASHED ALSO. CAR HAS 10,000 MILES ONLY AND HAS BEEN RELATIVELY TROUBLE FREE TO THIS POINT. I SEE MANY LIKE COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEBSITE AND IN ONLINE FORUMS. TO DATE IT SEEMS READING FEEDBACK FROM OTHERS AFFECTED, EVEN AFTER MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES AND TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP, CHRYSLER HAS NOT IDENTIFIED A ROOT CAUSE OR BEEN ABLE TO PERMANENTLY RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND WE WILL NOT DRIVE THIS CAR AGAIN WITHOUT A DEFINITE RESOLUTION.
TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK MY PACIFICA HAS STALLED AT A LIGHT. I WAITED AT A RED LIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. THE ENGINE IS ON RUN BUT DASH SAYS SHIFT TO PARK AFTER I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR. I SHIFT TO PARK THEN SHIFT TO DRIVE AND THE CAR WON'T MOVE. I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN SHIFT TO DRIVE AND IT WILL THEN GO.
SEAT BELT LOCKED IN OPEN SO YOU CANNOT LOCK IN SEAT BELT. (MALE PART OF SEAT BELT DOES NOT STAY IN FEMALE BUCKLE). 1ST TIME IT DID NOT STAY CONNECTED, KEEPT TRYING AND THEN I GOT IT TO CONNECT. THE NEXT TIME I WENT TO USE IT IT WILL NOT STAY CONNECTED PERFORMED THE T54 232T54182 SAFETY RECALL ON 12/26/17. NOW IT IS THE MIDDLE ROW OUTSIDE SEAT BUCKLE THAT IS NOT WORKING! THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN NOT WORKING.
A MONTH AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR I STARTED THE IT & BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. WHILE DRIVING A MESSAGE CAME UP STATING AUTO START/STOP NEEDED TO BE SERVICED. ANOTHER MESSAGE POPPED UP. WHEN TRYING TO SEE WHAT IT SAID, ALL DISPLAYS STARTED SHUTTING DOWN. HEAT WAS GOING UP & DOWN. TRIED TO TURN IT OFF BUT IT WOULDN'T TURN OFF. I WAS ON A BUSY CITY STREET & GOT OFF AT AN EXIT RAMP & POWER STEERING HAD GONE OUT. I MADE IT TO MY DRIVEWAY & AS SOON AS I SHIFTED TO PARK IT DIED. TRIED RESTARTING THE CAR & IT WOULDN'T START. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. THEY GAVE ME THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE # TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THEM. THE WOMAN NOTED MY INFORMATION SO THAT THEY WOULD KNOW WHAT THE CAR WAS THERE FOR. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS BUSY. I WAS ON HOLD ABOUT 15 MIN. WHILE ON HOLD, A MESSAGE CAME ON TO FILL OUT A FORM ONLINE & THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME. 10 PM STILL NO RESPONSE. CAR WAS STILL NOT STARTING. CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AGAIN. THEY SAID THEY NEVER RECIEVED MY ONLINE REQUEST. SINCE THE DEALERSHIP WAS CLOSED THEY SET UP TO TOW MY CAR THE NEXT MORNING. I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM CHRYSLER STATING MY VEHICLE'S CHARGING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT RECENTLY INDICATED THERE MAY BE A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRICAL CHARGING SYSTEM & TO HAVE MY CAR SERVICED AT THE DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY. TOW TRUCK ARRIVED & THE CAR STARTED NO PROBLEM OR WARNING LIGHTS. THEY TOWED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP CALLED & RUDLY ASKED WHY I HAD MY CAR TOWED. I EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPEND. THEY SAID THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET TO IT THAT DAY. I WAS NEVER OFFERED A LOANER CAR. FOLLOWING AFTERNOON I CALLED BECAUSE I HADN'T HEARD ANYTHING. THEY CALLED ME BACK STATING THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR & TO PICK IT UP AT. I HAVE SEEN OTHER PEOPLE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE & FIND IT TO BE UNACCEPTABLE TO HAVE A NEW CAR, ONLY 762 MILES, THAT DIES FOR NO KNOWN REASON. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM THAT THEY NEED TO RESOLVE.
FOR THE PAST YEAR THE CAR JERKS FORWARD AND STALLS WHILE DRIVING. ESPECIALLY AFTER GOING FROM A STOP. SOMETIMES IT IS SO BAD, YOU VIOLENTLY JERK FORWARD. HAVE BROUGHTEN TO DEALER TWICE FOR THIS. ONCE THEY DID A SOFTWARD UPDATE, THAT DID NOT HELP. SECOND TIME THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL
THE VEHICLES TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. IT HAPPENS ON GEARS FIRST TO 2ND THEN AGAIN ON 2ND TO THIRD WITH HARD SHIFTING. IT HAS FELT AS IF ANOTHER VEHICLE HAS HIT YOU FROM BEHIND. IT HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR. IT HAPPENS VERY CONSISTENTLY.
ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 17 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WE HAVE BEEN EXHIBITING MULTIPLE HARD SHIFTS WHILE IN MOTION\DRIVING IN BOTH CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS, DELAYS IN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP IN AN INTERSECTION, UP TO A FORWARD LUNGE WHILE COMPLETING A STOP AT A CITY STREET LIGHT. I'VE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES TO CHRYSLER AND HAVE RECEIVED THE SAME EXPERIENCE MANY OTHERS HAVE REPORTED FROM "RESETTING THE TRANSMISSION LEARNING MODULE" TO THE MOST RIDICULOUS "YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE A 9 SPEED TRANSMISSION". I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE A WELL REPORTED ISSUE ACROSS MULTIPLE FORUMS AND TO THEIR DEALERSHIPS.THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY AND QUALITY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY CHRYSLER.
SOMETIMES USUALLY AT LOW SPEEDS AND LOWER GEARS UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS TO THE UPPER GEAR WITH A BANG, LIKE SOMEONE HIT WITH A HAMMER AND WITH A STRONG JERK. ALMOST LIKE TRANSMISSION MOUNTS ARE DEFECTIVE. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN IF I ACCELERATE FAST. ISSUE WITH HORN, LIGHTS, COOLENT, ENGINE GASKETS, PARK BRAKES STICKING, TURNING SIGNAL,, ELECTRICAL AL CONNECTED SOME HOW BUT 4 CHRYSLER DEALERS AND THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE IT EVEN WITH PICS AND VIDEO I'VE SHOWN.PAYING FOR CAR I CAN'T USE. ANY OTHER SIMILAR ISSUES OR AM I THE ONLY ONE DRIVING THE GHOST CAR.
TRANSMISSION WILL LOCKOUT NORMAL OPERATION AND BLINK "N" ON BOTH INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND GEAR SHIFT KNOB. WHEN FAILED, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT OPERATE IN EITHER REVERSE OR DRIVE AND IT APPEARS TO HOLD IN PARK. VEHICLE THEN NEEDS TO BE SHUTOFF AND RESTARTED, SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES, BEFORE THE VEHICLE CAN MOVE AGAIN. MY WIFE REPORTED A VERY ROUGH GEAR ENGAGEMENT THAT FELT LIKE SHE WAS REAR ENDED BUT IT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A VIOLENT GEAR CHANGE. I TOOK CAR FOR A TEST DRIVE AND PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY IN REVERSE, PULLED INTO THE STREET, STOPPED, CHANGED TO DRIVE AND EXPERIENCED THE LOCKOUT WITH A SCREEN SAYING "SERVICE TRANS, PRESS BRAKE WHEN STOPPED, KEY OFF ENGINE TO ENGAGE PARK". AT THIS POINT I WAS STUCK WITH MY VEHICLE BLOCKING THE ENTIRE STREET AND I COULD NOT USE DRIVE, REVERSE OR PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO PUSH IT. IF FELT LIKE IT WAS IN PARK. I TRIED TO SHUTDOWN AND RESTART THE VEHICLE TO GET IT MOVING BUT IT TOOK ABOUT 4 ATTEMPTS BEFORE I COULD GET IT INTO DRIVE AND OUT OF THE WAY. WE TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND THEY REBUILT TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY. A FEW MONTHS LATER THE PROBLEM CAME BACK. I HAD TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AS I WAS AFRAID OF GETTING STRANDED. THEY PULLED 5 TROUBLE CODES AND TRY AGAIN. I HAVE PICTURE OF THE DASH AND I HAVE A BRIEF VIDEO OF THE FAILURE IN MY DRIVEWAY.
WHILE DRIVING 60MPH ON I-55 ON DEC 26, 2017 WITH MY SICK NEWBORN BABY IN THE VAN MY 4 MONTH OLD 2017 PACIFICA STALLED ON ME IN THE CENTER LANE OF THE HIGHWAY. I WAS NOT ABLE TO PRESS THE BRAKES NOR STEER THE CAR. I SOMEHOW MANAGED TO MOVE OVER TO THE SHOULDER BY JERKING AT THE WHEEL I BARELY MADE IT ON TO THE SHOULDER AND THE VAN SHUT OFF COMPLETELY AND LOST ALL POWER. I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE ONLY TO SIT ON HOLD FOR OVER 20 MINS. I THEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP BACK AND THEY SENT A PRIVATE TOW TRUCK OUT TO ME. OVERALL I SAT FOR 1.5 HOURS BEFORE HELP ARRIVED. I WAS EXTREMELY COLD AND AFRAID FOR OUR SAFETY AS SEMI TRUCKS AND CARS SWERVED AROUND ME. THE VAN WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE REPORTING THAT THE ALTERNATOR WENT OUT IN ADDITION TO ISSUES OF SEVERAL ELECTRICAL CODES THAT CAME UP. AGAIN, THIS IS A BRAND NEW VAN THAT I HAVE ONLY HAD FOR 4 MONTHS. I CALLED FCA ON 12/26/2017 AND 12/28/2017 TO FOLLOW UP AND I AM STILL WAITING ON A CALL BACK.

PACIFICA STALLING RECALL I AM WRITING THIS EMAIL TO INFORM YOU OF AN ISSUE WE HAVE HAD WITH OUR BRAND NEW 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING. LEAVING OUR IN-LAWS THE OTHER DAY, WHICH MIND YOU IS DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET, WE GOT TO THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY TO STOP AND LOOK BOTH WAYS ;) AND THE AUTO SHUT OFF ENGAGED. MEANWHILE STILL SITTING T-BONED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, WAITED ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND RECONNECTED AT WHICH TIME WE WERE ABLE TO RESTART AND TURN THE KNOB TO LOW (NO OTHER GEAR WOULD WORK AND THE PARK BRAKE WAS STILL ENGAGED, BUT IT MOVED ENOUGH TO GET US OUT OF THE ROAD AND INTO OUR OWN DRIVEWAY. WE SHUT IT OFF AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHO TOWED IT TO THEIR GARAGE.THEY SAID THEY FLASHED THE AUTO SHUT OFF FEATURE AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. WE PURCHASED A PACIFICA ON 12/21/2017. NOT EVEN AN HOUR AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP THE VEHICLE STALLED, LOSING ALL POWER, AND HAD TO BE RESTARTED TO REGAIN POWER AND DRIVING ABILITY AT A STOP LIGHT. WE WERE NOT HIT, BUT IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO HAVE A VEHICLE THAT STALLS RANDOMLY.

ON 12/13/17, THE CAR ENGINE SHUT OFF AND THE CAR STALLED WHILE IDLE AT AN INTERSECTION. THE LIGHTS WERE STILL ON, BUT THE CAR COULD NOT BE SHIFTED OUT OF GREAT AND THE BREAKS LOCKED UP. THE CAR WAS ESSENTIALLY FROZEN. WE CALLED AAA AND THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO START. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM.
2017 PACIFICA CONTINUES AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR TO DROP/SLIP OUT OF GEAR WHILE DRIVING WITH NO WARNING AND THEN SUDDENLY THRUSTS BACK INTO GEAR CAUSING THE ENTIRE CAR TO JERK FORWARD AS THOUGH WE HAVE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND.
