TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND LOST BRAKING AND STEERING ABILITY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE START BUTTON AND THE VEHICLE RESTARTED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED ON MAY 19, 2018. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE NAPLES CHRYSLER/JEEP/RAM DEALER (6381 AIRPORT PULLING ROAD NORTH, NAPLES, FLORIDA 34109) WHERE IT WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,300.
1- TURN THE VAN ON. CLICK ON UCONNECT THEATER THEN SHIFT TO R OR CLICK THE SURROUND CAMERA TO ACTIVATE THE CAMERA, CLICK ANY BOTTOMS TO CHANGE THE CAMERA VIEW, IS NOT WORKING. THE SCREEN FREEZING AND NOT RESPONDING ANYMORE. TURN THE VAN OFF FOR 2 HOURS. TURN IT ON AGAIN, THE CAMERA OPTIONS WILL WORK FINE. CLICK THE UCONNECT THEATER AGAIN, GO BACK TO THE CAMERA OR SHIFT TO R, THE BOTTOMS THAT CHANGE THE VIEWS ARE NOT WORKING AND NOT RESPONDING. 2- PUT THE USB FLASH TO PLAY MOVIES. GO TO UCONNECT THEATER, IT WILL READ THE USB AND I CAN PLAY MOVIES. DISCONNECT THE FLASH AND CONNECT IT AGAIN, IT WILL NOT READING IT ANYMORE. TURN THE VAN OFF FOR 10 MIN. THEN TURN IT ON, IT WILL WORK AGAIN. ONCE I DISCONNECTED AND CONNECT IT AGAIN, IT WILL STOP READING IT. SOFTWARE ISSUES. (WATCH THE VIDEO THAT I DID (HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=GC7O60KHJ4W) 3- ON SPEED 5 OR LESS, DRIVING FORWARD OR BACKWARD, WHEN I TURN RIGHT, THE STEERING WILL SHAKE. SOUNDS LIKE ROCK AND PINION OR STEERING COLUMN ISSUE.
ON MAY 23, 2018 I WAS IN ROUTE TO WORK PER NORMAL. IT WAS ABOUT 8:30 AM. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY IN THE LEFT HAND TURN LANE (SECOND FROM RIGHT LANE) ON A 6 LANE BUSY CITY STREET WAITING FOR A RED LIGHT TO TURN GREEN SO I COULD TURN LEFT/NORTH ONTO NEXT STREET. THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I TOOK MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE TO THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR SUDDENLY POWERED DOWN. I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, PUT IN PARK, TURNED OFF THE CAR, AND THEN PUSHED START AGAIN. THE CAR STARTED BUT WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK. I RETRIED SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO LUCK TO GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK AND MOVE FORWARD. I PUT ON MY HAZARDS AS CARS STARTED TO STACK UP BEHIND ME WHILE I WAS MOTIONING FOR TRAFFIC TO GO AROUND ME. I TRIED AGAIN TO RESTART AND WHILE THE CAR WOULD RESTART, I COULD NOT MOVE IT OUT OF PARK AND WAS STUCK THERE. WITH MY HAZARDS ON, I CALLED THE POLICE TO ASSIST AND THEN TRIED TO USE MY UCONNECT TO REACH MY 'FREE' ROADSIDE ASSITANCE USING MY ASSIST BUTTON. I GOT AN ERROR MESSAGE MULTIPLE TIMES THAT IT WOULD NOT CONNECT. I FOUND THE 800 NUMBER AND MANUALLY DIALED MYSELF. AFTER ABOUT A 10 MINUTE PROCESS I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO ORDER SERVICE VIA THE TEXT PROCESS THAT WAS SENT TO ME. IT TOOK ANOTHER 5 MINUTES BEFORE I RECEIVED CONFIRMATION THAT TOW TRUCK WAS ORDERED. POLICE ARRIVED. I CALLED BACK TO DETERMINE HOW LONG TOW TRUCK WOULD TAKE TO FIND IT WAS 90 MINUTES. THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE DUE TO MY LOCATION AND THE TRAFFIC BACKUP. I CALLED MY DEALER DIRECTLY AND THEY SENT SERVICE WITHIN 30 MINUTES. THE DEALER IMMEDIATELY RECEIVED A CALL FROM CHRYSLER STAR TEAM (DUE TO THE ROADSIDE REPORT I FILED) AND THEY HAD MY CAR FOR ONE WEEK. I HAVE THE CAR BACK NOW AND THERE ARE NO SOLID EXPLANATIONS AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENED. I KNOW THAT CHRYSLER WAS VERY INVOLVED IN HAVING DEALER PERFORM MULTIPLE TESTS. THANKFUL I WAS NOT ON FREEWAY.
FORWARD COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING.WENT BACK TO TO DEALERS AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK.I CALLED CHRYSLER AND SPOKE TO TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE AND WAS TOLD THEY HAVE NO WAY TO CHECK IF' IT WORKING.I PAID 995.00 FOR THIS OPTION FOR SAFETY FOR MY FAMILY.I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS A LUXURY FEATURE AND NOT ABLE TO BE TESTED,TOO BAD FOR US.I HAVE TESTED MY CAR WITH CHRYSLER MECHANICS AND THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM.HOW CAN CHR NOT SELL SOMETHING LIKE THIS? VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. *TT
DRIVING AT 45 MPH IN VERY LIGHT TRAFFIC, THE POWER STEERING ON THE VEHICLE FAILED IN 'TURNING TRAFFIC' MAKING IT NEAR IMPOSSIBLE FOR MY WIFE TO PHYSICALLY BE ABLE TO CORRECT THE DIRECTION OF THE VEHICLE. SHE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AS THE VEHICLE WAS UNRESPONSIVE WITH AN ERROR BEING REPORTED ON THE DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER LOCATED CENTER/DASH WHERE THE ERROR REPORTED WAS THAT THERE WAS A POWER STEERING FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO A CHRYSLER DEALER FOR IMMEDIATE SERVICE. PROBLEM: POWER STEERING FAILS ACTION TAKEN: STOPPED, RESTARTED AND ERROR MESSAGE WAS NO LONGER PRESENT. TRIED ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE WITHOUT SUCCESS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH AND APPROACHING A VEHICLE, THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM FAILED TO ALERT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HUNTINGTON JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (1220 E JERICHO TURNPIKE, NY 11743, (631) 673-0270) WHERE THE SENSOR WAS RECALCULATED. THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 810. *TT UPDATED 9/26/18*JB
I WAS DRIVING IN THE LEFT LANE ON A CONGESTED HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH WITH MY FOOT GENTLY ON THE ACCELERATOR. TRAFFIC STARTED TO MOVE A LITTLE FASTER, I PRESSED DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR, TO INCREASE THE SPEED OF THE CAR. INSTEAD OF ACCELERATING THE CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN. I REALIZED THE ENGINE CUT OUT. I STEERED THE CAR TOWARD THE LEFT SHOULDER AND THE CAR GLIDED TO A STOP BARELY ON THE SHOULDER. WITH THE CAR STOPPED, I CHECKED FOR AN INDICATOR LIGHT TO HELP DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. NO INDICATOR LIGHTS WERE ON. THERE WAS A MESSAGE DISPLAYED THAT DIRECTED ME TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK ( I LEFT EVERYTHING THE WAY IT WAS WHEN THE ENGINE STOPPED), PRESS THE BRAKE AND PUSH THE START BUTTON. I CAR RESTARTED NORMALLY. THE REASON THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING IS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW. MODEL YEAR 2018. IT IS A GAS DRIVEN MINIVAN, NOT THE HYBRID MODEL. TOTAL MILEAGE 2932. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN SERVICED. *TT *TR
THE CAR RANDOMLY SHIFTS TO WHAT SOUNDS LIKE NEUTRAL AND HAS THE RPMS SKYROCKET WHILE DRIVING AROUND 10-15 MPH. AFTER 2-5 SECONDS OF LOSS OF MOMENTUM THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES AND JERKS THE CAR FORWARD LIKE IT WAS REAR ENDED. THIS HAPPENS 3-4 TIMES A DAY. THE DEALER STATES "NOTHING IS WRONG, WE CANT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM". THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, BUT ITS OUR FAMILY VEHICLE AND IS NEEDED ON A DAILY BASIS. *TT *TR
POWER STEERING GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING IN SERVICE FOR SECOND TIME WITH ONLY 800 MILES ON IT PASSENGER FRONT WINDOW ROLLS DOWN WHILE DRIVING BY ITS SELF PASSENGER AUTO SIDE DOOR WOULD OPEN ONE DAY VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN A PARKING LOT WITH NO NOTICE OR REASON. *TT *TR
(1) POWER STEERING WENT OUT INTERMITTENTLY ON THE FREEWAY AND SAID IT WAS UNAVAILABLE AND SERVICE WAS REQUIRED (2)VEHICLE WAS HESITATING WHEN STEPPING ON THE GAS (3) HEATER/AIR CONDITIONER CHANGED THE LEVEL OF AIR FLOW ON IT'S OWN (4) WINDOW ROLLED DOWN ON ITS OWN. AFTER I HAD IT IN THE SHOP FOR 2 1/2 WEEKS, THEY DIDN'T DO ANY WORK TO IT AND HAD ME COME PICK IT UP. AFTER DRIVING IT FOR 2 MINUTES, THE POWER STEERING KEPT GOING OUT ON ME AGAIN. THEN I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE CAR TURNED OFF AND I HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RE-START IT. WHEN I DROVE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE WINDOW ROLLED DOWN AGAIN ON ITS OWN. HOW COULD THEY GIVE THIS CAR BACK TO ME KNOWING THEY DIDN'T FIX ANYTHING. I HAVE CHILDREN THAT I DRIVE AROUND IN THIS VEHICLE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ANY LONGER. IT IS A BRAND NEW CAR. I'VE HAD IT FOR 2 MONTHS. *TT *TR
WITHIN 2 MONTHS OF BUYING THE VEHICLE, THE MINIVAN STALLED AND DIED ON A HIGHWAY (I-80). LUCKILY IT WAS EARLY MORNING (6 AM) AND THERE WASN'T ANYONE BEHIND ME OR NEXT TO ME. SO WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. CAR WAS TOWED TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP. PROBLEM WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED, BUT NOT ASSURANCE FROM CHRYSLER. DID I GET A LEMON? AFTER A STOP, THEN STEPPING ON THE GAS AND NOTHING HAPPENS. FINALLY TAKES THE GAS AND LURCHES FORWARD. ON 03/15/2018 THE DEALER UPDATED THE TCM SOFTWARE,SAID MINE WAS OUT OF DATE. SEEMED OK UNTIL 04/01/2018 WHEN IT DID THE SAME THING AGAIN. MILEAGE IS 3000.
SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 3 MONTHS AGO, DEALER HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO CORRECT PROBLEMS WITH BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY MEMORY AND GPS MEMORY. THEY'VE REPLACED THE RADIO ONCE BUT THAT DIDN'T CORRECT ISSUES. PER DEALERSHIP, CHRYSLER HAS 'RADIO RESTRICTION' SO THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN ANOTHER MIGHT BE AVAILABLE. SEEMS MORE OF A SOFTWARE ISSUE THAT THEY DON'T SEEM TO KNOW HOW TO CORRECT
THE CAR WAS PUT IN DRIVE AND WAS DRIVING AT 20 MILES AN HOUR. SUDDENLY THE POWER STEERING WAS LOST. THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN AND HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND ON AGAIN TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN AFTER 20 MINUTES. THE STEERING WAS STUCK AND TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON AGAIN RESOLVED IT. I AM WORRIED IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN ON THE HIGHWAY AND AM TAKING IT TO THE DEALER. *TT *TR
THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM HAS NEVER WORKED SINCE CAR WAS PURCHASED. CHRYSLER HAS TOLD US CAR MUST BE GOING 70 MPH FOR SYSTEM TO ACTIVATE. THE CHRYSLER VIDEO INDICATES SYSTEM SHOULD BE WORKING AT MUCH SLOWER SPEEDS (25 MPH). THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
BOUGHT VEHICLE ON MARCH 5, 2018, ON THE 2 HR DRIVE HOME THE CARS MAIN FRONT CENTER CONSOLE STARTS REBOOTING AND RESETTING OVER AND OVER, THE CAR THEN YANKS US HARD TO THE RIGHT AND AS I FIGHT THE DRIVER ASSIST MODE TO ACTUALLY STAY ON THE ROAD, MY HUSBAND AND MYSELF WAS PLENTY SCARED. WE GOT THE DRIVER ASSIST DISABLED, THE HEAT WAS UNABLE TO BE TURNED DOWN, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS SO HOT WE HAD TO PUT ON GLOVES, THE SEAT HEAT COULD NOT BE SHUT DOWN, WE WERE WITH WINDOWS OPEN IN THE SNOW, WE HAD NO CHOICE. WE ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE CAR, SAME FUNCTIONAL ISSUE. CONTACTED DEALERSHIP FOLLOWING MORNING, INFORMING THEM THEY SAID GET IN IN RIGHT AWAY, WE TOOK TO LOCAL CHRYSLER ON MAY 6TH AND THEY FOUND NOTHING. THEY DIDN'T BELIEVE US EITHER. HAPPENS AGAIN IMMEDIATELY THE DAY AFTER BEING THERE, AGAIN WE TOOK IT IN, THEY WANTED IT TO CONTINUE WHEN WE PULLED IN WE WERE TOLD, I SAID IT KEEPS TAKING US OFF THE ROAD. THE 3RD TIME WAS THE SAME ONLY WE ALMOST SIDE SWIPED ANOTHER VAN BY THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH. LUCKY WE PULLED HARD AND SAVED OURSELVES. IT HAS NOW BEEN AT CHRYSLER REPAIR MORE THAN 5-6 TIMES SAME EXACT PROBLEM, THEIR SAME EXACT EXCUSES, NO FIX. DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED SUGGESTED WE BEGIN LEMON LAW ON IT. I AGREE, I DON'T WANT TO BE THE CRASH DUMMY. CHRYSLER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED ONLINE, THEY WERE INSISTENT IT CAN BE FIXED, ITS BEEN A MONTH, AND THEY HAVE HAD THE CAR MORE THAN US, AND THEY HAVE PUT 1000 MILES ON IT TOO, WHERE AS WE BARELY GOT 450 WITH RIDE HOME. I HAVE MADE FIRST PAYMENT AND HAVE A RENTAL NOW, A JUNKIE ONE! PLEASE HELP US, THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS, AND WILL CAUSE A SERIOUS FATALITY THE WAY IT STEERS OFF SUDDENLY. IT IS A CATASTROPHE WAITING TO HAPPEN. ON BOARD COMPUTERS FAIL ON AND OFF.
THIS VEHICLE WITH UNSAFE DEADLY DRIVING CONDITIONS BEGAN AS A NEW VEHICLE AT AROUND 1300 MILES. ACCELERATION OF CHRYSLER PACIFICA WHILE DRIVING AT 55 TO 75 MILES PER HOUR WITH THE ENGINE OF VEHICLE DOES NOT SLOW DOWN BUT STAYS STUCK AND DOES NOT SLOW DOWN AND REMAINS AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. DOCUMENTED OVER 350 INCIDENTS OF THIS SUBJECT PACIFICA FOR 3 YEARS. OFTEN, I COULD NOT STOP THE ENGINE FROM RACING AT ITS HIGHEST RATE OF SPEED WHILE ON FREEWAYS AND OTHER ROADS. THIS VEHICLES ENGINE DOES NOT SLOW DOWN AND BEGIN FORCED PUMPING OF BRAKES MAKING THE VEHICLE RISE IN HEIGHT AND.. II COULD NOT STOP THIS PACIFICA ENGINE FROM SHUTDOWN RACING ENGINE UNTIL I PLACE THE SHIFT MECHANISM IN NEUTRAL TO SLOW IT DOWN AND KEEP IN FROM CRASHING INTO A FORWARD VEHCILE OBJECT. THE ENGINE GETS STUCK IN ITS FORMER HIGHEST RATE OF SPEED FOR 30 TO 45 SECONDS.ON A GOOD NUMBER OF OCCASIONS I HAVE TAKEN THIS SUBJECT VEHICLE TO RAY LATHEM DEALERSHIP IN DETROIT, MICHIGAN. THE DEALERSHIP PUT THOUSANDS OF MILES ON MY LEASED VEHICLE AND STATED THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE SAFETY STUCK ACCELERATION PROBLEM WAS. CHRYSLER WOULD NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ANY SAFETY ACCELERATION PROBLEMS AND I HAD MY VEHICLE TESTED BY SOFTWARE ENGINEERS AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT THE AFOREMENTIONED CHRYSLER PACIFICA HAS DEFECTIVE UT MODULES, POWERTRAIN CONTROL PCM REPROGRAM MODULE POWERTRAIN CONTROL. THIS PACIFICA ENGINE CONTINUED TO STICK CAUSING THE ENGINE TO RACE A ITS FORMER HIGHEST RATE OF SPPED OF 55 OR 70 MILES PER HOUR. DURING WINTER WEATHER LIKE RAIN, SNOW OR ICE THIS VEHICLE WOULD TURN SIDEWAYS WHILE GETTING OFF THE FREEWAY SERVICE DRIVE. WHILE THIS IS MY 4TH CHRYSLER MINI VAN I HAVE PLACED MY FAMILY CHILDREN AT HIGH RISK OF BEING INJURED IN A CAR ACCIDENT. I HAVE WRITTEN THE PRESIDENT OF CHRYSLER AND ALL THIS STRESS THIS COST ME OVER 9,500 ADDITIONAL MILEAGE PENALTIES OF .28 CENTS PER MILE.. .
CAR STALLED, ENGINE COMPLETELY STOPPED WHILE DRIVING EXPRESSWAY SPEEDS. ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART AND REQUIRED TOW. EIGHT DAYS AFTER INCIDENT - STILL NO DIAGNOSIS FOR FAILURE ALTHOUGH EVIDENCE POINTS TO INTERNAL ENGINE DAMAGE.
I HAD JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR AND WAS DRIVING AWAY FROM THE DEALER. ABOUT A MILE DOWN THE ROAD I WAS SLOWING DOWN AND STARTED TO PUT ON THE BRAKES WHEN I HAD AN UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION EVENT. (IT FELT LIKE SOMEONE HAD JUST STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR). I HAD TO SLAM HARD ON THE BRAKES AND JUST AVOIDED HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I KNOW THIS WAS CAUSED PROBABLY BY THE COMPUTER BUT I KNOW IT WASN'T ME. MY FOOT WAS ONLY ON THE BRAKE. I KNOW THIS FEELING WELL SINCE I USED TO HAVE A 2004 PRIUS WHERE THIS HAPPENED TO ME MANY TIMES.
MY 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA STALLED IN AN INTERSECTION. THE AUTO START-STOP SYSTEM WAS ON. AFTER PRESSING THE GAS AND ENTERING THE INTERSECTION THE VAN STALLED. I HAD TO QUICKLY PUT MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON, PUT THE VAN INTO PARK AND RESTART. I PURCHASED THIS VAN LESS THAN A MONTH AGO AND IT HAS LESS THAN 1500 MILES. THIS INCIDENT RESULTED IN NO INJURIES.
WHEEL WELLS FILL UP WITH SNOW AND ICE BUILDS UP. THE TIRES HAVE NO ROOM TO WORK. THEY SPIN BUT DON'T GO ANYWHERE. YOU CAN HAVE YOUR PEDAL TO THE GROUND, AND THE TIRES ARE NOT ABLE TO PROPEL FORWARD B/C OF THE EXTREME SNOW/ICE BUILD UP IN THE WHEEL WELLS. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS B/C IT CAN HAPPEN AS YOU ARE STOPPED AT A LIGHT. ONCE THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN, YOU ARE UNABLE TO GO B/C THE TIRES JUST KEEP SPINNING. THE ONLY WAY TO GET YOUR CAR MOVING AGAIN IS HOPE THAT SOME OF THE SNOW BREAKS LOOSE OR YOU HAVE TO MANUALLY REMOVE THE BUILD UP THAT IS AROUND, BEHIND AND ON THE TIRES!!! I HAVE TO DO THIS DAILY WHEN THERE IS SNOW ON THE GROUND. IT DOES NOT EVEN HAVE TO BE A LOT OF SNOW ON THE GROUND FOR THE WHEEL WELLS TO BE EFFECTED. IT IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS!!! IT SEEMS LIKE YOU ARE STUCK IN A 2 FOOT PILE OF SNOW BUT IN REALITY YOU ARE NOT. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS! I HAVE THIS LEASE FOR OVER 2 MORE YEARS AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT IN THE WINTER WHEN WE HAVE SNOW. THE SNOW/ICE WILL BUILD UP AND STAY IN THERE SO BADLY THAT IT CAUSES THE WHOLE CAR TO SHAKE. I DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED B/C I THOUGHT MY TIRES WERE GOING TO FALL OFF. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS CAUSING IT UNTIL THE SERVICE MAN SAID THEY HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE WITH PACIFICAS. HE CLEANED OUT ALL OF THE WHEEL WELLS AND THEN IT WAS FINE. UNTIL THE NEXT TIME IT GOT FILLED UP!!!!!
3RD ROW PACIFICA SEATS HAVE A BUTTON TO RECLINE SEATS BACK AND FORWARD WITHIN REACH OF CHILDREN IN CAR SEATS WHICH CAUSES CAR SEATS TO BECOME LOOSE AND NO LONGER INSTALLED PROPERLY. THIS IS A FAMILY VEHICLE AND I AM CONCERNED THIS WILL CAUSE INJURY BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY TO DISABLE OR CHILD LOCK THE SEAT RECLINE. ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS LED TO NO IMMEDIATE RESOLVE OR ACKNOWLEDGMENT THAT THIS COULD CAUSE INJURY TO CHILDREN IN CAR SEATS. THE BUTTON IS AVAILABLE FOR USE WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR PARKED.
CAR SHUT OFF WITH THE "PUT CAR IN PARK AND RESTART" MESSAGE. IT TOOK 2 ATTEMPTS TO RESTART. CAR HAS ONLY 795 MILES ON IT. WHEN THE CAR SHUTS OFF THERE IS NO POWER STEERING CREATING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE CAR WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WHEN THIS HAPPENED WITH THE FUEL SAVER OPTION SET TO THE OFF POSITION.
2018 TOURING L PLUS TOWED. WAS DRIVING ALONG AND STARTED LOSING ALL POWER, SYSTEMS STARTED TO SHUT DOWN, VAN WAS LIMITED IN SPEED AND FUNCTION. BY THE END ALL WARNING SYSTEMS HAD FAILED, POWER STEERING WAS GONE, ABS WAS GONE, AFTER THE BATTERY HIT 8.9 VOLTS WE LOST CONTROL OF THE TRANSMISSION, THE "D" ON THE DISPLAY STARTED FLASHING AND THE VAN SHUT OFF 15 SECONDS LATER. ONCE THE VAN WAS OFF I WAS UNABLE TO PUT IT IN PARK OR APPLY THE PARKING BRAKE DUE TO THE LOSS OF POWER.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT NO FAILURE CODES WERE FOUND AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 33243784. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000. *TT *TR

DURING THE VERY FIRST MODEST SNOW FALL OF THE SEASON, I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP AT INTERSECTIONS WHERE OTHER CARS COULD STOP. AT EVEN EXTREMELY SLOW SPEED, I HAD TROUBLE NEGOTIATING CURVES. I HAD TO DRIVE MUCH SLOWER THAN OTHER CARS AND YET COULDN'T STOP FOR YELLOW LIGHTS WHEN OTHER CARS COULD. I AM LEAVING THE CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY UNTIL I CAN GET SNOW TIRES BECAUSE IT IS TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE MY BRAND NEW VAN WITH THE FACTORY EQUIPPED "ALL WEATHER" TIRES. I HAVE DRIVEN LONG DISTANCES IN MUCH WORSE WINTER WEATHER OVER 42 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER FELT SO UNSAFE AS I DID IN THIS VAN WITH THESE TIRES!

THE MANUFACTURER OF THE SLIDING DOOR (BRAUN ABILITY) CHECKED WITH THEIR CHAIN OF COMMAND AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO JACKSONVILLE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM ARLINGTON (11101 NURSERYFIELDS DR, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32256, (904) 493-0000) AND THEY REPROGRAMMED THE VEHICLE SOFTWARE. WE WERE DRIVING HOME AT NIGHT AND STOPPED ON A RED LIGHT IN AN INTERSECTION ON A HIGHWAY. WHEN IT WAS 'GO' OUR PACIFICA 2018 (400 MILES ON IT) DID NOT RUN. LIGHT IS ON 'RUN', DIAL SHIFT ON DRIVE AND I DID NOT TURN OFF THE CAR. I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR AGAIN BUT IT JUST WOULD NOT RUN. OTHER DRIVERS BEHIND ME STARTED HONKING AND I SIGNALED THEM TO GO AROUND ME. SO TURNED TO PARK AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. THEN TURNED BACK ON. STILL IT WOULD NOT RUN. FOR THE THIRD TIME I TURNED THE ENGINE COMPLETELY OFF, OPENED THE DOOR. THEN CLOSED THE DOOR AND REDID THE ENTIRE PROCESS. THIS TIME IT WORKED. TOOK US ABOUT 15 DISTRESSING SECONDS. I'M NOW SCARED DRIVING THIS THING WITH MY FAMILY WITH ME. I DONT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN AGAIN ESPECIALLY ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. JUST THE THOUGHT OF IT GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS. I CALLED THE SALES GUY FIRST THIS MORNING AND WAS TOLD HE WILL SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT WITH THEIR SERVICE. JUST SURPRISED ME THIS NEVER HAPPENED TO OUR PREVIOUS CARS - TOYOTA, HONDA AND NISSAN ESPECIALLY SUCH A BRAND NEW CAR! I WAS AT A STOP SIGN. WITH OUT ANY WARNING MY 2018 PACIFICA SHUT DOWN. THE KNOB TO TURN FROM PARK TO DRIVE OR REVERSE STARTED TURNNING BY ITSELF AND THEN IT SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. A COUPLE OF SECONDS LATER, THE VAN RESTARTED AND IT SAID TO PRESS THE IGNITION BUTTON TO START THE VEHICLE. I WAS AT AN INTERSECTION WITH THE CAR ON DRIVE WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF.
