TAKATA RECALL. ACCORDING TO THE AIR BAG RECALL INFO. THIS AUTO IS AMONG THE LISTED BUT THE DEALERSHIP AND YOU PEOPLE WON'T DO ANYTHING. OUR AIR BAG RED LIGHT ON THE DASH HAS BEEN ON NOW 2YRS. THE SEAT BELT RED LIGHT AND WARNING NOISE GOES ON FREQUENTLY EVEN THO IT IS SECURE. QUITE ANNOYING.
WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE HEADED EAST FROM HICKORY FLAT MS TO MYRTLE MS. THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT BEGAN TO BLINK, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, ALL POWER SHUT DOWN QUICK, CAR WOULD NOT START, WAITED 45 MINUTES BEFORE IT STARTED . MOTORIST STOP TO HELP ME PUSH IT TO THE SIDE OF THE HWY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRUNK BOLT, LUG NUTS, SPRINGS AND THE METAL AREA AROUND THE TRUNK WERE ABNORMALLY CORRODED. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE KEY WOULD BECOME STUCK IN THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE REAR WINDOWS AND THE SUB ROOF FAILED TO OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 08V152000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE'S COMPLAINT ON THE 2008 SEBRING. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON. THE CARS RPMS REV HIGH BUT THE CAR WON'T EVEN BE GOING FAST. THE CAR WILL SPEED UP ON ITS OWN AND JUMP WHILE SITTING AT A RED LIGHT. THEN ONCE THE LIGHT COMES ON AND YOU CUT THE CAR OFF IF YOU TRY TO CRANK IT BACK UP IT WENT CUT ON. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I'VE ALMOST WRECKED QUITE A FEW TIMES. NOBODY KNOWS WHAT'S WRONG AND WHEN YOU TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY DON'T KNOW EITHER AND THEY ARE ALL RUDE. AND THEY CHARGE YOU 100$ TO DIAGNOSE IT. IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT VEHICLES YOU SHOULD DEF NOT WORK FOR CHRYSLER AND SHOULD NOT CHARGE PEOPLE FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY AND THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. MY CAR CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING, THE WINDOWS WONT GO UP OR DOWN MY CAR WILL NOT UN LOCK THROUGH THE SWITCH IN THE CAR OR SOME TIMES THE KEY. *TR
MY 2008 SEBRING HAD THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT COME ON. WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY REDUCED ITSELF TO 2000 RPMS. I COULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND THAT THRESHOLD. IF THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP IT WOULD STALL OUT COMPLETELY. I HAVE READ SEVERAL SIMILAR REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE INCLUDING IT CAUSING INVOLUNTARY ACCELERATION. *JS
WHILE DRIVING THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS FLICKER THEN GO OUT UNABLE TO TURN BACK ON I AN UNABLE TO SEE SPEED, GAS GAUGE ENGINE TEMP A VERY HAZARDOUS CONDITION. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND STATED THAT THE AIR BAG SEAT CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS--BECOMING MORE FREQUENT AND LASTING LONGER DURATION EACH TIME. WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS (CAN AND HAS HAPPENED ANYWHERE FROM 5MPH-60MPH) IF ANY PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO ACCELERATOR AFTER BREAKING NO MATTER THE SPEED ALL POWER IS LOST TO THE CAR A RED LIGHTING BOLT LIGHT APPEARS ON THE DASH AND THE RPM'S WILL STAY BETWEEN 4,000-5,000. EACH TIME HAVING TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND ATTEMPT FOR IT TO RESTART (DEPENDS ON IF IT WILL OR NOT--USUALLY TAKES IT A WHILE). WILL GET UP TO SPEED AGAIN AND IF I HAVE TO BRAKE FOR ANY REASON OR EVEN SLOW DOWN JUST A LITTLE WITHOUT APPLY THE BRAKES IT CAN COMPLETELY LOOSE POWER. ALSO DO NOT HAVE ANY DASH LIGHTS WHEN THE HEAD LIGHTS ARE TURNED ON. THEY APPEAR IN THE CENTER CONSOLE BUT WENT OUT IN 2009 JUST AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR, AND AFTER SEVERAL ESTIMATES IN THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IT REMAINS WITH NO LIGHTS (SO IN NO WAY CAN YOU SEE THE SPEED OR ANYTHING ELSE ON THE DASH AFTER DARK.) *TR
FRONT END KNOCK FELT THROUGH STEERING WHEEL AFTER CAR WARMS UP FOR 15 MINUTES. CAR IN MOTION OR IF YOU ROCK STEERING BACK AND FORTH.
VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STALL WHILE TAKING LEFT- HAND TURN ON INTERSECTION @ ~15MPH. IT NOW SHOWS THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE ENGINE RANDOMLY AND STALLS SOMEWHAT FREQUENTLY AT LOW SPEEDS. LASTLY, THE TRANS IS SLIPPING RIGOROUSLY. *TR
MY CAR BOTH IN BOTH PARK/DRIVE WILL SPORADICALLY JUMP IN RPM'S FOR NO REASON. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 40+ OCCASIONS IN WHICH THE VEHICLE WILL REV FROM 600 RPM'S UP OVER 3500 RPM'S WITHIN A SECOND. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND CHRYSLER STATED THAT THEY HAVE NOT HAVE ANY REPORTS FROM OTHER VEHICLES AND GAVE ME NO SOLUTIONS TO THIS PROBLEM. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON. I MENTIONED TO CHRYSLER THAT I AM AFRAID THAT MY CAR IS GOING TO ONE DAY REV WHILE I AM DRIVING AND I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTROL IT. I AM AFRAID THAT I AM GOING TO EITHER INJURE MYSELF, PASSENGERS, OTHER MOTORIST AND/OR PEDESTRIANS. I HAVE BEEN AT MANY STOP LIGHTS AND STOP SIGNS WHERE IT HAS REVVED AND MOVED FORWARD EVEN WITH MY FOOT FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE. I WANT TO REPORT THIS IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS, I DO NOT WANT TO BE LIABLE FOR THE CARS ACTIONS SINCE CHRYSLER DOES NOT SEEM TO WANT TO TAKE MY ISSUE SERIOUSLY. *TR
FIRST INDICATION OF AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM OCCURRED IN JAN OF 2014, WHEN A YR. OLD BATTERY FAILED. DEALERSHIP REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. IN AUGUST 2014, MY PASSENGER SIDE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHT WENT OUT, SO I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THE BULB. IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT THE CAR FOR 2 DAYS AND FOUND THERE WAS AN INTERNAL FAILURE IN THE TIPM DRIVER, THE BULB WAS BAD. BULB REPLACED, STILL NOT WORKING, MECHANIC TESTED AND TRACED WIRING AND CONNECTORS, ALL GOOD. MECHANIC FOUND TIPM HAS BAD CIRCUIT FOR RIGHT HEADLIGHT. WHOLE TIPM HAS TO BE REPLACED AT THE COST OF AROUND $1000. AFTER READING ABOUT THE CHRYSLER AND DODGE COMPLAINTS ONLINE, CONCERNING VEHICLES CUTTING OFF ALL POWER OVER 40 MPH, AND THE FILING OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST CHRYSLER LLC BY GIRARD GIBBS LLP, NOVEMBER 1ST, 2013, CONCERNING THE TIPMS HAVING A KNOWN SOFTWARE GLITCH IN CHRYSLER AND DODGE VEHICLES, I'M CONVINCED MY CAR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. I CONTACTED A CHRYSLER REPRESENTATIVE, AND SHE SAID THERE WERE NO KNOWN RECALLS OF THE TIPM, SO SHE COULDN'T REALLY HELP ME OUT. I HAVE TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED, BEFORE IT GETS ANY WORSE AND CUTS OFF POWER TO MY ENGINE IN LOS ANGELES TRAFFIC, POSSIBLY CAUSING A CRASH AND MULTIPLE DEATHS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE FOR ALL CHRYSLER/DODGE OWNERS, 2007-PRESENT. THERE ARE MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL FAILURES CAUSED BY A SOFTWARE GLITCH IN THE TIPM. WHILE DRIVING MY CAR STALLED AND SUDDENLY, WITHOUT WARNING CUT OFF! NEEDLESS TO SAY, THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY CAR TO DEALER AND WAS CHARGED OVER $500 FOR TUNE-UP, OIL CHANGE, AND DIAGNOSTIC CHECK. ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON WITHIN ONE WEEK. I CANNOT AFFORD THE COSTLY REPAIRS WHEN MECHANICS CANNOT DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. HOWEVER, MORE IMPORTANTLY, I CANNOT AFFORD TO BE HURT IN A CAR ACCIDENT. BACK TO THE MECHANICS SPENDING $146.00 FOR OXYGEN SENSOR ~ ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON WITHIN ONE WEEK! CAR STALLING AND IDOL IS EXTREMELY HIGH ~ CAR CUTOFFS CONTINUES....EMISSIONS TEST TIME ~ FAILED! NOW TOLD NEED NEW POWER CONTROL MONITOR. ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC " CODES ARE BEING SHOWN FOR NO REASON". *TR
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED STUTTERING THEN STOPPED COMPLETELY. WHEN I MOVE THE CONTROL ARM THEY WILL MOVE A LITTLE AT A TIME, THEN START TO GO REALLY FAST. I HAD TO LEAVE THEM ON THE FAST MODE OR ELSE I WOULD NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR. IT WAS POURING OUT. THANKFULLY I GOT TO WORK WITH NO ISSUES. I HAVE REPLACED THE WIPER MOTOR AND THE CONTROL ARM TO NO AVAIL, THE DEALER PUT IN A NEW WIPER KIT TO NO AVAIL. NOW I NEED A NEW TIPM MODULE.! *TR
FIRSTLY FOUND THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT BEEPS WHILE DRIVING WITH THE SEAT BELT ON; ONE WEEK AGO, STOPPED BY THE POLICE AT NIGHT, SAYING ALL THE REAR LIGHTS DIDN'T FUNCTION, INCLUDING THE STOP LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS; A SELF CHECKING FOUND ALL THE LIGHT BULBS ARE GOOD, BUT THE FRONT LEFT TURN SIGNAL DOESN'T WORK, BOTH FRONT LEFT AND REAR RIGHT LIGHTS ARE ON FOR A LONG TIME AFTER SHUTTING OFF ENGINE AND LIGHT SWITCH. YESTERDAY I TOOK IT TO OLATHE CHRYSLER SHOP/DEALER TO CHECK UP MY CAR. THEY FOUND BOTH THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH AND THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE SHOULD BE REPLACED. OTHERWISE THE CAR MAY CATCH A FIRE OR LEAD TO ACCIDENTS. THIS IS 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. AS FAR AS I KNOW NO ACCIDENT HAS HAPPENED TO IT. I AM SURE THIS MODEL HAS HIDDEN SAFETY ISSUES. BECAUSE IT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM LIKE THE NEWER MODELS OF CHRYSLER SEBRING, DODGE, ETC. WHICH HAVE RECALLS. I DON'T HOPE ACCIDENTS HAPPEN TO ME OR OTHERS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V152000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64000.
SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE LAST OCTOBER, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIGHTS HAS STOPPED WORKING ON A FEW OCCASIONS. AT SOME POINT THEY WOULD WORK AGAIN MOMENTARILY BUT ONLY TO STOP AGAIN. ONLY A PORTION OF THE CLUSTER WOULD REMAIN LIT. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIGHTS ARE CURRENTLY NOT WORKING ON OUR VEHICLE. *JS

CAR ENGINE REEVES UP AND CAR JUMPS FORWARD AT STOPS, OR CAR WANTS TO DIE. TOOK TO PENSACOLA FL. CHRYSLER DEALER SPENT OVER $800 TO FIX. STILL DOES IT. NOW ENGINE IS STARTING TO KNOCK. FRAYED TO TAKE BACK. CANNOT AFFORD THE ASSESSMENT FEES EVERY TIME YOU TAKE IT IN. *TR
THE CAR WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS SEPT. 2013, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT WAS $400. CALLED THE SAME DEALERSHIP TODAY ( DECEMBER 23, 2014) AND THEY WOULD LIKE ME TO BRING IT IN, BUT I DON'T WANT TO PAY ANOTHER $400 TO HAVE IT REPLACED AGAIN BECAUSE THE ONE-YR WARRANTY IS UP BY 3 MONTHS. SO DISAPPOINTED... WHAT A WAY TO SPEND THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY. *TR

PURCHASED VEHICLE USED IN AUGUST 2015, OWNER TOLD US THE WIPERS DID NOT WORK BUT HE HAD THE MOTOR AND WE INSTALLED THE WIPER MOTOR. THIS DID NOT WORK. SO WE RESEARCHED THIS VECHICLE FOR RECALLS AND WE FOUND THAT CHRYSLER HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH THIS TIPM PART BUT WAS NOT BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR A RECALL. THIS PART COST US $650.00 AND THE WIPERS NOW DO WORK BUT THERE IS A NOISE THAT IS STILL THERE AND SOME OF THE CAUTION LIGHTS DO NOT GO OUT. THE CAR WORKS BUT DO NOT GO THAT FAR IN IT DUE TO THE REVIEWS WE HAD READ ABOUT THIS TIPM PART AND THE ENGINE MAY STOP WORKING.
RECALL #H07 ON 12/30/2013 I WENT TO HURLEY CHRYSLER DODGE DELAND, FLORIDA. THE SERVICE ADVISOR [XXX] REQUEST A FEE OF $115.00 DOLLAR FOR THE ELECTRONIC DIAGNOSIS ON THIS RECALL. [XXX] STATED IT WAS NECESSARY TO DETERMINE OTHER TECHNICAL ISSUES ON THE CAR THAT WAS NOT NECESSARY THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM. DELAND AAMCO SERVE AND REPAIR THE CAR ON 12/26/2013 FOR A COST OF 1185.77, HOWEVER THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT STILL ON. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK WHEN THE CAR (ENGINE)SUDDENLY STOP. THIS SITUATION HAD HAPPENED THREE TIMES. ALSO SOMETIME THE CAR SMELL LIKE BURN WIRE. LOCKED UP. REFERRED TO MANUAL IN WHICH I FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS FOR HIDDEN RESET BUTTON. TO NO AVAIL, CALLED LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THEIR RESPONSE "YOU GET IT HERE & WE'LL FIX IT!" SO FAR MY 2008 SEBRING HAS TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING TWICE. I WAS SLOWING DOWN FROM 30MPH FOR A STOP LIGHT AND IT TURNED OFF AND WAS LUCKILY ABLE TO UTILIZE THE BRAKES IF NOT I WOULD HAVE REAR ENDED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, BUT AS FOR THE STEERING, IT WAS UNRESPONSIVE. MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND THE DEALER WANTS $550 TO FIX IT. I THINK IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD NOT BE SO EXPENSIVE TO FIX. I AM NOW DRIVING WITH NO AIRBAG DUE TO A BAD CLOCKSPRING IN THE STEERING WHEEL. ON MY 1996 IT WAS A RECALL AND THE DEALER HAD TO FIX IT FOR FREE, WHY DON'T THEY DO IT ON THIS NEWER MODEL. THE COST IS WAY TOO HIGH FOR THE PART AND AMOUNT OF TIME IT WOULD TAKE THEM TO REPLACE IT. *TR
WHEN RAISING OR LOWERING THE TOP IT WOULD MALFUNCTION (SOME WHERE BETWEEN COMPLETELY UP OR DOWN) AND REMAIN IN THAT STATE SOMETIMES FOR HOURS, LOCAL TOWING SERVICES REFUSE TO TRANSPORT THE VEHICLE TO A NEARBY DEALERSHIP OUT OF FEAR THEY WOULD DO MORE DAMAGE TO IT. SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE (2007) WE'VE HAD IT SERVICED (SEP' 2007, JUL' 2010, AND SEP' 2011) AT DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM; EACH TIME THEY ASSURED US THAT THE PROBLEM HAD BEEN CORRECTED. MOST RECENTLY (MAY 29TH) WE AGAIN HAD THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE, FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. AS BEFORE, THE REAR WINDOW PANEL (RIGHT SIDE) HAS DROPPED SEVERAL INCHES, THE TOP IS INOPERATIVE, AND A STRAP THAT ATTACHES TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TOP HAS BROKEN AND HANGS DOWN INTO THE CRADLE. AS ROYAL PROTECTION PLAN HAS EXPIRED, THE DEALERSHIP HAS PROJECTED MY OUT-OF-POCKET REPAIR COSTS, THIS TIME, TO EXCEED $1,015. WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE IF A RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS RECURRING PROBLEM. *TR
THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE LIGHT IS CONTINUOUSLY COMING ON EVEN AFTER REPAIRS. THE CAR WILL RIDE FIND AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN CUT OFF WITH NO WARNING OTHER THAN THE LIGHT APPEARING. ALSO IT STALLS AND YOU CAN BE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WHICH IS DEFINITELY SAFETY HAZARDOUS. I'VE NOTICE THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED TO THOUSAND AND TO MY SURPRISE NO RECALL. *TR
THE THROTTLE BODY LIGHT JUST CAN ON AFTER CROSSING A SPEED BUMP AND STOP AND KILLED AND HESITATED TO RESTART NOW THIS THROTTLE BODY PART IS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER. *TR
I WAS DRIVING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND STARTED SPEEDING UP DUE TO LESS TRAFFIC. I WAS GOING 60 MPH WHEN MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING AND STARTED MAKING THIS WEIRD REVVING NOISE (THE KIND WHEN YOU ARE PARKED OR IN NEUTRAL), MY WARNING LIGHT CAME ON FOR THE ELECTRICAL PANEL. I THEN PULLED OVER BECAUSE IT WAS NOT GOING ANY FASTER THAN 35 MPH. JUST LETTING IT SIT IT WAS MAKING THOSE SAME NOISES. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT. THE LIGHT WHEN AWAY AND IT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AGAIN. IT HAD A LITTLE ISSUE GETTING BACK UP TO SPEED BUT OVERALL IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL. *TR

FRONT DRIVER SEAT STARTED FEELING LOOSE, AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, LOW TIRE LIGHT CAME ON AND CHECK OIL LIGHT WOULD COME ON EVERY TIME CAR IS STARTED. A FEW DAYS LATER THE CAR DIDN'T FEEL RIGHT AND STARTED MAKING A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE, TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND FOUND OUT THAT TENSIONER BELT BECAME LOOSE CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE CAR. I HAD TO GET A NEW ALTERNATOR, TENSIONER & PULL, AND TRANSMISSION FLUSHED/SERVICED AS WELL AS THE POWER STEERING. NOT VERY HAPPY WITH THIS 2008 SEBRING!!!!! *TR
WHEN CLOSING THE TOP, I HEARD A POP SOUND AND THE ROOF STOPPED. IT WOULD NO LONGER OPEN OR CLOSE BUT WAS STUCK HALFWAY OPEN. THE DECK LID (A TRIM PIECE WITH PLASTIC HINGES) HAD BROKEN AFFECTING THE TOP OPERATION. IT WAS REPAIRED OUT OF POCKET IN 2013. NOW IN 2015, THE SAME PIECE BROKE AGAIN, AGAIN RENDERING THE TOP INOPERABLE. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ABOUT THE ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I LIVE IN PA AND ONLY USE MY TOP ABOUT 3-4 MONTHS OUT OF A YEAR (AND LIMITED AT THAT SINCE I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT DAILY) SO THIS BROKEN PIECE WAS NOT EVEN USED MUCH BEFORE IT BROKE FOR A SECOND TIME.
ON MONDAY 1/28/2013 AFTER A HEAVY MORNING OF SNOWING AND RAINING, I BEGAN TO RUN ERRANDS. ALL OF SUDDEN MY CAR 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING STALLED AS I WAS DRIVING. I STARTED THE CAR IMMEDIATELY BACK UP WITH NO PROBLEMS HOWEVER SHORTLY AFTERWARDS PULLING UP TO A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE CAR STALLED AGAIN. EVERYTHING IN THE CAR GOES OFF AS IF SOMEONE HAS TURNED THE IGNITION KEY TO OFF POSITION. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS THERE ARE NO WARNING TO THE POSSIBILITY THE CAR IS ABOUT TO STALL. TUESDAY 1/29/13 I TOOK MY CAR TO A LOCAL REPAIR CHAIN AS IT CONTINUED TO STALL AND THEY REPORTED NOT FINDING ANYTHING ELECTRICAL WRONG WITH THE CAR NOR MECHANICAL. HOWEVER, THEY SUGGESTED THAT WHEN CARS STALL SOMETIMES IT MAY BE THE SPARK PLUGS MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. SO BASED ON THEIR SUGGESTION I HAD THE SPARK PLUGS REPLACED/TUNE UP. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM AS I DROVE HOME CAR STALLED. ON WEDNESDAY 1/20/13, I TOOK THE CAR TO ANOTHER TRUSTED MECHANIC AND THEY REPORTED THE PROBLEM BEING ELECTRICAL AND MANUFACTURED DUE TO HOW THE CAR TOTALLY SHUTS DOWN AND NOT REGISTERING WITH THE DASH BOARD A PROBLEM. ON 1/31/13 I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP ONLY FOR THEM TO CONFIRM, SO FAR, WHAT THE OTHER TWO MECHANICS ALREADY TOLD ME, ITS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT IS NOT SHOWING UP ON DASH. FOR THREE DAYS THE CAR STALLED APRX. 11 TIMES AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND/OR IN MOTION. I HAVE READ THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2007-2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING'S HOWEVER WHEN I CALLED CHRYSLER I WAS TOLD THAT DID NOT INCLUDE MY CAR DUE TO IT BEING MANUFACTURED A MONTH LATER THAN THE RECALL CARS. HOWEVER, THE RECALL NOTICE DESCRIBES EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY CAR. I HAVE ALSO COMMUNICATED WITH 2 OTHER PEOPLE TO WHOM HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME STALLING ISSUES WITH THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL CAR. I JUST HOPE IT DOES NOT TAKE SOMEONE LOSING THEIR LIFE BEFORE CHANGES ARE MADE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. *TR

WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH FUEL. WHEN THE TANK IS FULL FUEL WILL OVERFLOW FROM THE TANK. FUEL PUMP WILL NOT SHUT OFF ALLOWING FOR LARGE SPILLS UNLESS MANUALLY STOPPED. MULTIPLE STATIONS OF USE WITH ALL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE, REMOVING NOZZLES FROM PROBLEM. *TR

THE RADIO AND SPEEDOMETER WOULD NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. IN ADDITION, THE HEADLIGHTS BECAME DIM. THERE WAS A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V152000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING); HOWEVER THE VIN WAS INELIGIBLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
WHILE IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT IN OCEAN CITY, NEW JERSEY, ENGINE SURGED THEN STALLED. THE CAR WAS THEN DRIVEN TWO BLOCKS TO A CORNER SUNOCO STATION AND WHILE IDLING AT THE GAS STATION, THE CAR AGAIN SURGED AND DIED. CAR WAS TAKEN TO ATLANTIC CHRYSLER, BUT SERVICE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THE COMPUTER DID NOT REFLECT IT. JAN. 13, 2013, WHILE DRIVING IN ATLANTIC CITY, NJ, CAR ENGINE REVVED AND STALLED WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. THE CAR SURGED FORWARD SLIGHTLY BEFORE BREAKS HALTED FORWARD PROGRESS OF CAR, NEARLY HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THIS HAPPENED TWICE BEFORE GETTING THE CAR HOME. DURING THE SAME TRIP THE DASH BOARD LIGHT ACTIVATED INDICATING THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WAS IN OPERATION. THE LIGHT DID NOT DEACTIVATE UNTIL THE CONVERTIBLE TOP HAD ACTUALLY BEEN ACTIVATED, TAKEN DOWN AND REPLACED. I HAVE READ A NUMBER OF SIMILAR REPORTS TO THIS ONE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND HAS TO HAVE A FIX BY NOW. *TR

THE CONDITION DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO VIEW THE INSTRUMENT PANEL (FUEL GAUGE, ENGINE TEMPERATURE, SPEEDOMETER, OR TACHOMETER) ALL OTHER WARNINGS AND MONITORING ARE OK (E.G., TIRE PRESSURE WARNINGS, ODOMETER, ETC). *TR
