TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE ALSO ERRONEOUSLY ACCELERATED WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE BUT REBOOTED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AS A PRECAUTION. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V152000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER WAS THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000. *TR
WHILE I WAS SITTING IN MY CAR AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT WHICH WAS RED AT THE TIME. A DWI TRUCK DRIVER SPEEDING AND HIT A MOVING CAR AND PUSH THE CAR INTO MY CAR AND THE DRUNK TRUCK DRIVER HIT MY CAR NEXT AT THE SAME TIME CAUSE ANOTHER CA MY CAR AND THE SPEEDING DWI DRIVER IN THE TRUCK HIT MY CAR AND MY CAR WAS TOTAL OUT AND I RECEIVE SERIOUS LIFE TIME INJURY FROM THE WRECK .THE DWI DRIVER WAS GIVEN A TRAFFIC TICKET AND WAS TAKEN TO JAIL,HOWEVER MY AIR BAGS DID NOT GO OFF.I WASTOLD BY THE DOCTOR IF MY BAG WOULD HAVE DEPLOYED I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN INJURED SO BAD. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT A STEADY SPEED, VEHICLE WILL HESITATE WHEN CLIMBING AN INCLIINE OR WHEN I ACCELERATE, THIS IS NOT A STEADY HAPPENING.I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO DIFFERENT CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS TO HAVE IT COMPUTER CHECKED BUT NOTHING SHOWS UP. A YOUNGER MECHANIC AT THE SECOND DEALERSHIP STATED IT SOUNDED TO HIM LIKE POSSIBLY THE CLUTCHES WERE SLIPPING AND CAUSING THE PROBLEM. SINCE IT DOESN'T SHOW UP ON THE COMPUTER HE SUGGESTED THAT I JUST CONTINUE DRIVING UNTIL SUCH TIME AS IT MAY STOP MOVING COMPLETELY AND THEN THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE FOUND.
WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE CAR ENGINE AND RPM INCREASED. LUCKLY I HAD MY FOOT ON BRAKE. HAD THE CAR LOOKED AT NO PROBLEM FOUND. INCLUDING A MAJOR TUNE UP. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES, INCLUDING WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING MY CAR. THIS TIME I HAD ANOTHER PERSON IN THE CAR WHEN IT HAPPENED LAST MONTH. IT OCCURED AGAIN WHILE AT A RED LIGHT THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE AND MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. IT RPMS WENT UP AND IT CAUSE THE CAR TO JUMP FORWARD BEARLY MISSING THE CAR INFRONT OF ME. *TR
I DROVE TO WORK THIS MORNING JUST FINE. UPON PREPARING TO LEAVE, THE CAR WOULD NOT COME OUT OF THE PARKED POSITION. THE GEAR WAS STUCK. *TR
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING VALVE BROKE OFF WHILE TRYING TO REMOVE VALVE CAP TO ADD AIR. THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AS I BARELY TOUCHED THE VALVE CAP. THIS IS THE FOURTH ONE THAT HAS FAILED IN THIS MANNER. THE ALUMINUM VALVE STEMS BECOME BRITTLE AND FAIL EASILY. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART WAS ON THE LEFT FRONT TIRE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING!!! MY 08 CHRYSLER SEBRING ELECTRONIC THROTTLE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR LOSES POWER WILL NOT PICK UP SPEED OVER 25MPG .. PAYING DEALERS TO FIGURE IT OUT BUT IM WASTING TIME AND MONEY THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT, BUT WHAT TO CHARGE TO SEE THE CAR AGAIN..... HAVEN'T HAD IT A YEAR BUT REGRET GETTING INTO THIS CAR...... *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN OF THE PART BEING REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES LATER. THE FAILURE WAS RESOLVED MOMENTARILY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR A REPAIR SHOP FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
I LOST POWER TO MY SPEED, MY BRAKES FAILED. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR WITH MY EMERGENCY BRAKE. ONCE STOPPED I TURNED OFF MY VEHICLE. ONCE I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON HOWEVER I STILL DID NOT HAVE THE SPEED. MY TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT FROM 3RD TO OVERDRIVE. IT WOULD STAY AT 3000 RPM AT 55 MPH. MY CAR NORMALLY RUNS @ 2500RPM OR LESS UP TO 60MPH. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DEO TO HAVE THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. THIS IS MY SECOND TIME EXPERIENCING THIS WITH THIS VEHICLE. I ALSO HAVE A 2009 CHRYSLER PT CRUISER AND OWNED A 2006 CHRYSLER SEBRING AND NEVER HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS. *TR
THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WOULD STOP HALF WAY IN THE PROCESS OF GOING DOWN. WE FOUND THAT IN THE TRUNK THERE IS A SMALL PLASTIC PIECE AT THE END OF THE COMPARTMENT HINGE THAT CRADLES THE TOP WAS MISSING. WE WERE ABLE TO BUY A BOLT METAL PIECE SIMILAR TO PLASTIC AND USE WELD GLUE TO ADHERE IT. SECONDLY, THAT PROBLEM CAUSED THE PLASTIC FLAP THAT IS UNDER THE WINDOW IN THE INTERIOR TO BREAK WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THIRD, THE INTERIOR ROOF PANELS CAME UNGLUED EXPOSING ALL THE COMPONENTS THAT WORKS THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. WE HAD TO REGLUE AND REPAIR PANEL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE CONTACT STATED THE SHIFT LEVER WAS LOCKED ION PLACE. THE CONTACT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER OR LOCAL MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE OVER 25 MPH AFTER THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE SENSOR ILLUMINATED DURING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,660 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 89,663.
WHILE DRIVING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE STALLED. WHEN TESTED THE ENGINE CODE CAME BACK AS ELECTRICAL SHORT. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM BUT CLEARED THE ENGINE CODE. A FEW WEEKS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. WHILE TRAVELING AT 50 MPH, AND COMING TO A STOP, THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING AND THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE CAR. AFTER GOING THRU A RED LIGHT ANOTHER CAR BROADSIDED MY CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WOULD BECOME STUCK OR IT WOULD TAKE EXTREMELY LONG TO CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER WAS LEAKING AND CAUSING THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,340 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT HIGH-SPEED, ALL THE ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENTS BEGAN FLASHING ON/OFF. THE AIRBAG LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING AND A CHIME COULD BE HEARD. THIS OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY (3-5 TIMES PER YEAR) AND CHRYSLER CANNOT PROPERLY DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN MOST FREQUENTLY WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WHILE RAINING WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON HIGH. ON ONE OCCASION WHILE TRAVELLING THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS OF WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA ON THE TURNPIKE AT NIGHT IN THE RAIN THE ENTIRE CAR WENT DARK FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS. IT APPEARED THAT THE SYSTEM REBOOTED. ORIGINAL OWNER.
I WAS STOPPED ON THE RED LIGHT AND LOOKING WAS 1 CAR LENGTH AWAY FROM THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME MY BRAKES WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND I WAS SO SCARED TILL I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND PUT MY EMERGENCY BRAKE THIS HAPPEN TO ME 3 TIMES IN THE SAME DAY BY THE WAY WHEN HIS HAPPEN MY BRAKES ARE NEW. *TR
I WAS RIDING SLOW THROUGH MY NEIGHBORHOOD ABOUT 15-20 MILES PER HOUR AND THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF,THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME! IT HAD HAPPENED MANY TIMES SINCE THEN AND ALSO JUST LIKE MANY OTHERS ON HERE HAVE STATED,THE CAR SEEM LIKE IT IS ABOUT TO SHUT OFF WHILE IM SITTING AT A LIGHT THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT JUMPS FORWARD ALMOST CAUSING ME TO REAR END SOMEONE,THAT HAPPENS QUITE A BIT OR IT SHUTS OFF WHILE IDLING. ODDLY NO ONE KNOWS WHY?? THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE PEOPLE START GETTING SERIOUSLY HURT OR DIE. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING AT ROUGHLY AROUND 45MPH WHEN THE (ETC) ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT CAME. SHE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE MOMENTARILY, HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN. SHE SHUT THE CARE OFF, WENT TO START IT BACK UP AGAIN AND IT WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING, KEEP IN MIND SHE HAD OUR 2 CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE ALSO. AFTER A COUPLE OF TRIES TO START THE VEHICLE, IT FINALLY STARTED AGAIN, NO MORE LIGHT! SHE HAD TOLD ME WHAT THE CAR WAS DOING, SO I DROVE IT FOR A DAY, AND NOTHING HAPPENED AT ALL. LATER THAT NIGHT SHE WENT TO THE STORE, AND IT DID IT AGAIN!! THIS TIME IT STAYED ON AND STARTED BLINKING. I DROVE THE CAR, AND IT WONT GO OVER 20MPH, AND IDLES REALLY ROUGH, ALSO IDLES HIGH, BETWEEN 1500-2100RPM. I AM WRITING THIS BECAUSE AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THIS IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THERE IS MORE THAN A COUPLE THOUSAND VEHICLES THAT HAVE DONE THE SAME THING. (THE 07' TO 08' CHRYSLER SEBRING) IT PUT MY FAMILY IN DANGER, THIS IS WHY I AM POSTING THIS COMPLAINT. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. *TR
THE MOTOR SURGES WHEN IN PARK & WHILE IDLING AT A STOP SIGN. IT HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES, AND I HAVE ALMOST SLAMMED INTO A PEDESTRIAN BECAUSE IT CATCHES ME BY SURPRISE. I REMOVED THE FLOOR MAT TO ENSURE THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM (IT HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES SINCE), AND THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED (LAST WEEK) THE CAR WAS IN PARK, AND THE ENGINE ROARED AS IF I WAS FLOORING THE ACCELERATOR, ON IT'S OWN. *KB
WHEN I AM DRIVING AND IT IS RAINING OR HAS RAINED OR IF THE CAR IS WET THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE CAR SKIPPING/ STALLING OUT WHEN YOU ACCELERATE. THIS ONLY OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS WET. IT HAS CUT COMPLETELY OFF AT AN INTERSECTIONS BEFORE. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS WITH SPEEDS LESS THAN 40 MPH OR YOU CAN HEAR AND FEEL IT PULLING/ WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE SPARK PLUGS GOING BAD AND HAD THEM REPLACED THAT THEY DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN IT WILL STALL OUT/SKIP. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE. OR STATE NO PROBLEM FOUND. THIS HAS GONE ONE FOR TWO YEARS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED AN ABNORMALLY LOUD NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION WAS BROKEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO STATED THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT HER AT A LATER DATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,507.
WITHOUT WARNING AT TIME MY CAR WILL STALL AT A STOP IE SIGN OR TRAFFIC SIGNAL OTHER TIME IT WILL BE STOPPED AT A LIGHT & WITHOUT WARNING THE RPM WILL SPIKE TO OVER 2K RPM & NEARY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT SEVERAL TIME. THERE IS NO KNOW REASON FOR THIS IN RELATION TO TEMP, HUMIDITY ETC OR HOW LONG ITS BEEN DRIVEN. CAN IT BE THAT THE FLEX FUEL SYSTEM IS GETTING CONFUSED BY THE ALCOHOL IN THE FUEL?? ALSO EXPERIENCE AT TIME WHEN FILLING GAS TANK IT SPITS BACK & CAUSES AN OVERFLOW OF FUEL ON SIDE OF CAR & GROUND??NO MATTER HOW SLOW OR FAST ITS PUT IN. ALL THIS HAS STARTED IN THE LAST 5K MILES PLEASE FIND A FIX BEFORE IT BECOMES A ACCIDENT. THANKS *TR
WHENEVER I SELF FILL OR AN ATTENDANT FILLS MY VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE IT SPITS BACK +/- 2 CUPS OF GAS AFTER THE PUMP SHUTS OFF EVEN ON THE SLOWEST FILL SPEED. GASOLINE SPILLS ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, GROUND AND ANYONE STANDING NEXT TO THE VEHICLE. THIS IS DEFINITELY A TRUE SAFETY HAZARD TO OWNER AND OR GAS STATION ATTENDANTS HAVING GASOLINE ON THEIR HANDS AND CLOTHES, AND THE ENVIRONMENT FROM THE ESCAPED FUMES, AND DEFINITELY A POTENTIAL FOR FIRE FROM POOLED SPILLED GASOLINE ON THE GROUND. I HAVE ALSO HEARD FROM ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL WITH A 2008 SEBRING CONVERTIBLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO DECELERATE AND APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO SEIZE AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE, CRASHING INTO THE MEDIAN STRIP. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT AND A PASSENGER WERE INJURED AS A RESULT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
WENT OUT TO CAR TO GO TO THE STORE UNLOCKED MY CAR WITH MY REMOTE AND HORN STARTED SOUNDING FOR NO REASON. TRIED TO PRESS UNLOCK/LOCK WITH REMOTE HORN STILL SOUNDING. AT THAT POINT I GOT BACK IN MY CAR TRIED SHUTTING THE DOORS AND STARTING THE VEHICLE ALARM STILL SOUNDING. AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES I KEPT MESSING WITH THE REMOTE TRYING TO SHUT OFF THE HORN FINALLY THE HORN STOPPED. AFTER A HUGE EMBARRASSMENT AND SEVERAL BY-STANDERS TRYING TO ASSIST ME IN SHUTTING THE HORN OFF I HAD TO LEAVE MY CAR UNLOCKED WHILE I WENT INTO THE GROCERY STORE. QUICKLY RACED THROUGH THE STORE GOT WHAT I NEEDED WENT BACK OUT TO MY VEHICLE STARTED THE ENGINE HORN CONTINUOUSLY WENT OFF AS I DROVE HOME. THIS IS CONTINUALLY HAPPENING TO ME AS I DRIVE MY CAR. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT CHRYSLER NEEDS TO REPAIR FREE OF CHARGE. *TR
ALMOST EVERY TIME I FILL THE GAS TANK, THE GAS SPILLS OR SPRAYS OUT OF THE TANK. NO MATTER HOW SLOW I FILL IT. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND I HAD THIS SAME ISSUE WITH ANOTHER 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. *TR
AFTER I RECEIVED WORK DONE ON THE ELECTRICAL-RECALL, MY CAR KEEPS ON STALLING. THIS CAN BE VERY SCARY AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. MY CAR SHOULD NOT BE SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING. I DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM UNTIL AFTER THE RECALL WAS FIXED ON MY CAR. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. *TR
WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH GAS, THE GAS SPRAYS BACK OUT OF THE FILLER TUBE AFTER THE AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF OF THE GAS STATION PUMP. I WOULD ESTIMATE ONE TO TWO CUPS OF GASOLINE SPRAY OUT ONTO THE PUMP HANDLE, THE SIDE OF THE CAR, MY CLOTHES, AND THE DRIVE. THIS IS A FORCEFUL SPRAY. THIS HAPPENS ON THE INITIAL SHUT-OFF OF THE PUMP, UNRELATED TO TOPPING OFF THE TANK. THIS STARTED AROUND DECEMBER OF 2011 AND HAPPENS AT ALL GAS STATIONS. THERE IS NO NOTICEABLE SLOPE TO THE DRIVES AT THESE GAS STATIONS AND IT DOES NOT MATTER WHICH SPEED I USE ON THE PUMP. IT WILL HAPPEN IF I USE THE SLOWEST SPEED OR IF I SET THE PUMP HANDLE TO FULL SPEED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! I SEE OTHERS ONLINE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINTS IN CHRYSLER VEHICLES. WHAT CAN I DO? *TR

WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LANE CHANGE, MY CAR WENT OUT OF CONTROL DUE TO STEERING FAILURE.
