IN AUGUST 2010, I BOUGHT A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING WITH ONLY 25,000 MILES. NOW WITH ONLY 32,000 MILES - THE THROTTLE PART HAS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF STALLING AND ALSO THE COMPUTER SYSTEM HAS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE READ THE COMPLAINTS THAT THE THROTTLE CAN MALFUNCTION AND SPEED UP THE VEHICLE! AND I HAVE READ THE COMPLAINTS THAT THE THROTTLE CAN STALL OUT THE VEHICLE. WHY HASN'T THE THROTTLE PART (CODE P2107) BEEN RECALLED? I WAS TOLD THAT THE THROTTLE PART IS ONLY GUARANTEED FOR 1 YEAR. THIS SHOULD BE A MANUFACTURE DEFECT AND CHRYSLER IS PUTTING DEFECTIVE THROTTLES ON THIS MODEL OF SEBRING AND NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECT. HOW MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM? WHY DOESN'T CHRYSLER HAVE A WARRANTY IN EFFECT FOR THIS PROBLEM BEFORE MORE DRIVERS GET KILLED OR INJURED? PLEASE RESPOND. *TR
A THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT APPEARS ON THE DASH OFF AND ON AT INTERMITTENT TIMES THE CAR LOSES POWER AND DIES WITHOUT WARNING. IT HAS DIED ON THE HIGHWAY SEVERAL TIMES SO FAR, BUT WILL RESTART AFTER A FEW MINUTES. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN THE FUEL IS LESS THAN HALF WAY FULL MORE THAN ANY OTHER TIME AND/OR WHEN TRAVELING UPHILL. RPM DIAL ON THE CAR JUMPS ERRATICALLY JUST BEFORE THE THROTTLE WARNING LIGHT APPEARS. PROBLEM HAS NOT OCCURRED WHILE TRAVELING AT LESS THAN 45 MPH. AFRAID THAT THE PROBLEM WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, IF IT HAPPENS WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE IS TRAVELING BEHIND ME. *TR
JUST IMAGINE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 25-30MPH AND YOUR HOOD FLIES UP AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD. FORTUNATELY FOR ME THE PERSON BEHIND BE WAS ALERT AND DID NOT PLOW INTO THE REAR OF ME. I PHONED THE INSURANCE COMPANY IMMEDIATELY, AND I WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE CAR TO A RECOMMENDED COLLISION CENTER WHICH REPAIRED MY CAR PRETTY QUICKLY....TOO QUICKLY I SUPPOSE BECAUSE WHEN I CALLED THE CHRYSLER, LLC OFFICE THEY SPECIAL INVESTIGATOR SAID IN ERROR THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO BECAUSE THE EVIDENCE WAS DESTROYED. HE ESSENTIALLY SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THAT CHRYSLER COULD DO. THEY DON'T KNOW WHY IT HAPPENED BUT IT SEEMED AS IF THE LATCH WAS WORKING PERFECTLY NOW. WELL I NOW HAVE A NEW HOOD BUT THE SAME OLD LATCH. MY MAJOR CONCERN IS THAT IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHY IT HAPPENED TO BEGIN WITH HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT IT IS FIXED. SUPPOSE THAT IT IS NOT THE LATCHES AT ALL BUT SOMETHING CONNECTED TO THE LATCHES THAT MADE THEM BOTH FAIL. NO ONE IS LISTENING TO ME. I AM NOW VERY FEARFUL OF DRIVING MY CAR WHICH I MENTIONED TO THE CHRYSLER SPECIAL INVESTIGATOR AND HIS RECOMMENDATION TO ME WAS "IF YOU ARE THAT AFRAID YOU OUGHT TO JUST TRADE IT IN AND GET SOMETHING ELSE" HE SAID THAT THEY HAVE DONE ALL AND EVERYTHING THAT THEY INTEND TO DO AND HE HUNG UP THE PHONE WITH ME STILL TALKING. I JUST WANT THIS TO GO ON RECORD AS A PRETTY SERIOUS PROBLEM; BUT KNOW ONE IS LISTENING! *TR
I HAVE A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE (CLOTHE TOP) IN 2009 THE LATCH AND STRYKER FOR THE REAR TRUNK HAD TO BE REPLACED. TRUNK WOULD NOT LOCK! THIS WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY... NOW IT IS 2011 AND ONCE AGAIN THE LATCH AND STRYKER HAVE BROKEN! THIS IS THE 3RD ONE IN 3 1/2 YEARS!!! NOW I HAVE NO WARRANTY AND ITS BEEN OVER 12 MONTHS SO THE PARTS HAVE NO WARRANTY! I PERSONALLY THINK THE TRUNK IS WAY TOO HEAVY WITH THE CONVERTIBLE TOP(LOCATED INSIDE UPPER DECK) IS CAUSING THE LATCH TO BREAK! *TR
ELECTRIC SEAT POSITIONING GUIDE BAR SLIPS FORWARD WHEN BRAKING. THIS OCCURS FOR BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
THE PINK SWITCH ON THE SHIFTER BROKE AND I WENT TO RUBEN CHRYSLER IN AUGUSTA,GA AND THEY TOLD ME THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE CAME IN FOR THE SAME REASON. *TR
TOOK MY 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING TO HAVE RECALL PART TRANS SHIFT INTERLOCK SPRING REPLACED. WHEN I ARRIVED TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. THE SERVICE DEPT INCLUDING THE MANAGER SAID THE BATTERY MUST HAVE GONE DEAD WHILE THEY WERE REPLACING THE RECALLED PART. ALL SERVICE PEOPLE INCLUDING THE MANAGER DID NOT EVEN WANT TO JUMP THE VEHICLE SO THAT WE COULD BRING IT HOME. THE VEHICLE HAD NEVER HAD A DEAD BATTERY BEFORE THIS. EVER SINCE THE PART WAS REPLACED THE BATTERY KEEPS GOING DEAD. BATTERY WAS REPLACED ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO AND STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. WE GET NO ASSISTANCE FROM THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP EXCEPT FOR THEM TO SAY THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE. *TR
AT 4055 MILES CAR WAS BROUGHT INTO DEALERSHIP FOR ROTOR ISSUES, THE CAR HAS BEEN BACK TO 3 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS, MORE THAN 15 TIMES, FOR BRAKE LIGHT, WINDOW SEAL, POWER STEERING PUMP, TRANSMISSION, STALLING, FUEL GAUGE,TOP ISSUES,FOR MAINLY VIBRATION ISSUES AT LEAST 10 TIMES, THE CAR HAS APPROX. 26K MILES AND IS ON ITS THIRD SET OF TIRES, THE DEALERSHIPS REFUSES TO GO BEYOND ALIGNMENT, BRAKES, ROTORS, RIMS AND TIRES, THIS TIME STRUTS. THIS LAST TIME IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR MORE THAN A MONTH,THEY HAVE REPLACED ALL DESCRIBED AND IT STILL HAS AN ISSUE AND THEY REFUSE TO GO BEYOND THAT AND LOOK INTO THE TIE RODS OR BUSHINGS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER WAS SLOWLY ENTERING A STORE PARKING AREA WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK IN OPEN THROTTLE POSITION. THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE ACCELERATION AND CRASHED INTO TWO POLES. THE DRIVER WAS INJURED AND A POLICE REPORT FILED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 33,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER USING HER KEYLESS ENTRY AND PULLING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE, THE ENTIRE HANDLE FRACTURED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND SHE WAS ADVISED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 48,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR BRAKES AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED MONTHLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
I WAS TRAVELING BACK TO LOS ANGELES,CA FROM SEDONA, AZ. IT HAD BEEN RAINING OFF/ON ALL DAY. SOMETIMES LIGHTLY AND OFTEN TIMES VERY HEAVY WITH WAKE WATER COMING OFF OF OTHER CARS AND TRUCKS ON A VERY BUSY CA HIGHWAY. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING DURING HEAVY DOWNPOUR TWICE. HAD TO CRAWL OFF THE FREEWAY WHILE UNABLE TO SEE BECAUSE OF NO WIPERS. HAD TO WAIT AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE THEY WOULD WORK AGAIN AFTER THE FIRST FAILURE. WAS ABLE TO TRAVEL USING THE DELAYED INTERMITTENT SEQUENCE UNTIL RAIN GOT TOO HEAVY. WHEN SWITCHED TO FASTER WIPING AFTER TEN MINUTES WIPERS STOPPED AGAIN. LUCKILY AGAIN I WAS ABLE TO CRAWL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND I WAITED FOR THE RAIN TO STOP. I HAVE NOT HAD THIS HAPPEN BEFORE AND I HAVE DRIVEN LONG AND SHORT DISTANCES IN THE RAIN. ANOTHER ISSUE IS I HAVE HAD ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS OVER THE LAST YEAR AND 1/2, THE CAR SHUT OFF/STALL WHILE WAITING AT RED LIGHTS, AND ONCE WHILE THE CAR WAS MOVING IT STARTED TO STALL. AT NO TIME DID THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT,OR ELECTRICAL LIGHT COME ON OR STAY ON. I WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER TECHNICIANS/MECHANICS THAT UNLESS THE LIGHT STAYS ON THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. OTHERWISE THE FAILURE HAD TO BE DUPLICATED, I.E, HAVE TO OCCUR IN THE PRESENCE OF THE TECHNICIANS. WELL YOU KNOW HOW THAT GOES. I UNDERSTAND THAT MY CAR WAS NOT PART THE 08V152000 RECALL, BUT THIS SITUATION IS DANGEROUS. PLEASE HELP.

MY CAR HAS ACCELERATED 3 DIFFERENT TIMES WHEN IM AT A COMPLETE STOP ON CHRISTMAS DAY IT ACCELERATED AND ALMOST HIT THE CAR INFRONT OF ME IT DOESN'T DO IT EVERYSINGLE TIME I DRIVE BUT HAS HAPPENED MORE THEN ONCE IT HAS ALSO SHUT OFF AT COMPLETE STOPS SEVERAL TIMES THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP GIVES ME THE RUN AROUND AND SAY NOTHING IS WRONG. *TR

THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE TO ACCELERATE. THE THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE TECHNICIANS STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE REPAIR WOULD RESOLVE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE ACCIDENTALLY PRESSED THE BUTTON TO PULL BACK THE CONVERTIBLE ROOF AND THE ROOF BEGAN TO OPEN. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR WAS THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 51,000.

WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE FAILURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HEARD A GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE REAR BRAKES WOULD NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY. THERE WAS CORROSION IN THE TRUNK AND AROUND THE REAR DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED AND THE REAR BRAKES NEEDED ADJUSTMENT. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE ISSUE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED AND THE BRAKES ADJUSTED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE THROTTLE ISSUE HAS PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
I HAVE A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. THE ENGINE HAS BEGUN STALLING AND SURGING AT RED LIGHTS. THE STALLING HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, BUT THE SURGING IS MUCH MORE DANGEROUS. THE ENGINE WILL SUDDENLY JUMP FROM IDLE TO A COUPLE THOUSAND RPM. IF YOU'RE NOT READY FOR IT YOU CAN EASILY BE PULLED FORWARD SEVERAL FEET, POTENTIALLY INTO THE PATH OF AN ONCOMING CAR. YOU HAVE TO APPLY EXCESSIVE PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO PREVENT BEING PULLED. THE SURGES ONLY LAST A FEW MOMENTS AND THEN THE ENGINE RETURNS TO IDLE. I WAS LOOKING FOR A FIX AND STARTED SEARCHING THE SYMPTOMS AND FOUND DOZENS OF POSTS OF PEOPLE HAVING EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUE. MOST HAVE TRIED SEVERAL FIXES FOR HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS AND STILL HAVE THE SAME DANGEROUS CONDITION. OUR CAR IS AT THE DEALER NOW, BUT AT THIS POINT I DO NOT KNOW IF THEY CAN SOLVE THE ISSUE. JUDGING FROM THE POSTS I FOUND THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE AT LEAST 2007, AND THERE ARE A LOT OF FRUSTRATED OWNERS DEALING WITH IT. *TR
CHRYSLER SEBRING 2008 HOWEVER, I AM HAVING PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT WHICH WILL COME ON SOMETIME AND NEVER GO OFF UNLESS YOU STOP THE CAR AND RESTART. WHEN ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT IS ON YOU CANNOT BREAK TO STOP THE CAR, OR SPEED UP. IT MAKE YOU LOOSE CONTROL OF THE WHOLE CAR INCREASING THE POTENTIALITY OF ACCIDENT IF YOU WAS DRIVING AT ANY SPEED ABOVE 25 MPH. I WENT TO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS, BUT THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE CAR OR COULD CAUSE THAT FAILURE, `AND HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FIX IT. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS PROBLEM IS RELATED TO THE POWER TRAIN. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED TO ME ALREADY MORE THAN 30 TIMES. *TR
CAR HAS 50,000 MILES ON IT. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR YEARS. THE IGNITION SWITCH STICKS WHEN CAR IS STARTED AND YOU HAVE TO MANUALLY TURN IT BACK TO ON SO STARTER WILL DISENGAGE. WHEN I HEARD OF RECALL RECENTLY ON OTHER MODELS I WAS SURPRISED THIS CAR HADN'T BEEN INCLUDED. *TR
MY WIFE DROVE HER 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING TO WORK YESTERDAY, EVERYTHING SEEMED TO WORK FINE. WHEN SHE TRIED TO DRIVE HOME THE CAR WAS STUCK IN PARK. AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM ONLINE I TOOK THE TRIM RING OFF OF THE SHIFTER AREA AND FOUND THE PINK PIECE OF PLASTIC ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SHIFTER. WITH A LONG SCREW DRIVER I WAS ABLE TO PUSH THE PINK PIECE OF PLASTIC BACKWARD AND COULD THEN MOVE THE SHIFTER OUT OF PARK. *TR
SHIFTER IN MY 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING TOURING SEDAN CONVERTIBLE FROZEN. ONLY GOES INTO REVERSE AND PARK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE EXAMINED FOR THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE REMAINED STUCK IN THE PARK. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
MY 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING'S GEAR SHIFTER GOT STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION OVER NIGHT. IT WON'T MOVE TO ALLOW ME TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. I HAVE READ THAT MANY OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM AS WELL. *TR

I OWN A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. DURING THE PROCESS OF LOWERING THE RETRACTABLE TOP,I REACHED INTO THE TRUNK WHILE STANDING NEXT TO THE CAR TO FREE AN OBJECT (CARDBOARD BOX)THAT I FEARED WOULD ENCUMBER THE OPERATION OR DAMAGE THE TOP. THE MECHANISM PINNED MY ARM AND I WEDGED MY SHOULDER INTO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TRUNK LID TO IMPEDE THE TRAVEL OF THE LID SO I COULD EXTRICATE MY ARM FROM THE SCISSORING ACTION OF THE TOP. ONCE I HAD MY ARM FREE, THE MECHANISM HAD ME PINNED FACEDOWN WHILE IT CONTINUED TO CLOSE. I BRACED MYSELF AGAINST THE FORCE IN ANTICIPATION OF ACTIVATING SOME SORT OF SAFETY STOP/REVERSAL MECHANISM. I WOULD ESTIMATE THE DOWNWARD FORCE TO BE IN EXCESS OF SEVERAL HUNDRED POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH SINCE ONE OF THE GUIDE PINS CREATED A 2 CM IMPRESSION IN MY BACK ABOUT 2 INCHES FROM MY SPINE. THE TOP DID FINALLY STOP AND I WAS ABLE TO PRY MYSELF FREE. MY CONCERN IS THAT HAD CIRCUMSTANCES BEEN SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT, I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED, PARALYZED OR HAD MY RIGHT ARM AMPUTATED ABOVE THE ELBOW. A CHILD, SLIGHT FRAMED, OR ELDERLY PERSON PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN CRUSHED OR KILLED. THIS MECHANISM EXERTS AN EXTRAORDINARY AMOUNT OF PRESSURE AND WILL ONLY STOP WHEN IT ENCOUNTERS AN OBJECT THAT IT CANNOT CUT OR CRUSH. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER STERLING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS A LOSS IN POWER STEERING CONTROL WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SWERVE OFF THE ROAD.
