VEHICLE HAS A SHUDDERING EFFECT WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 38-55 MPH. THE TRANS-AXLE HAS BEEN REBUILT MULTIPLE TIMES AND LASTS APPRX. 12000 MILES AND THEN HAS TO BE REBUILT AGAIN. AS THE MILES PROGRESS UP FROM THE REBUILD THE SHUDDERING INCREASES AND THE VEHICLE BECOMES A DANGER TO DRIVE. CHRYSLER POSITION IS THAT THEY FIXED THE ISSUE AND IT IS OUR PROBLEM. WE ARE CURRENTLY INVOLVED IN A WARRANTY SUIT AGAINST CHRYSLER, OUR ATTORNEY IS KROHN & MOSS. THE CASE IS SCHEDULED FOR TRIAL IN FEB. 2013. *TR
2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. CONSUMER STATES ISSUES WITH VEHICLE CONSUMING AMOUNTS EXCESSIVE OIL *TGW THE OUTER TIE ROD WAS WORN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, THE LEFT FRONT TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.*JB
AFTER FILLING THE MINIVAN WITH GAS (ESPECIALLY IF FULL), ONCE DRIVING OFF GAS STATION LOT--CAR STALLS. EVERYTHING SHUTS OFF. USUALLY SHAKES RIGHT BEFORE SHUTTING OFF. MUST HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH BRAKES TOO. THE MORE YOU BRAKE RIGHT AFTER TURNING CAR BACK ON AFTER FILL UP, THE MORE LIKELY IT WILL STALL. VERY DANGEROUS IF MAKING A TURN, ON HIGHWAY OR IF CARS ARE BEHIND IT. ALSO DIED ONCE WHEN TURNING INTO PARKING SPOT. I CAME VERY CLOSE TO HITTING CAR BECAUSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WERE GONE TOO. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR MONTHS AND IS A HUGE PROBLEM. OUR CHRYSTLER/DODGE COULD NOT DIAGNOSE PROBLEM BUT THERE ARE MANY OTHERS ONLINE. THIS IS A 2007 MOST OF THE SAME PROBLEMS ARE WITH 2005. *TR

FEBRUARY 2011 - DRIVER SIDE ELECTRONIC PASSENGER DOOR CEASED TO FUNCTION. CHRYSLER SERVICE DEPT - WIRE HARNESS NEEDS REPLACING, MOTOR WORN. WIRE HARNESS UNAVAILABLE FOR 2-3 WEEKS. JUNE 2011 - FOUR MONTHS LATER WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE PART - NATIONWIDE BACK ORDER, 5 CUSTOMERS AT OUR CAR PLACE WERE WAITING TOO. VAN DOOR EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO OPEN/CLOSE MANUALLY - A DANGER TO THOSE TRYING TO EXIT/ENTER THE VEHICLE QUICKLY/IN AN EMERGENCY. FORCES OUR CHILDREN TO ENTER/EXIT ON FAR SIDE OF VEHICLE WHERE THEY'RE NOT VISIBLE. CHRYSLER SAYS IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE -- WE DISAGREE. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT WILL BE YET ANOTHER MONTH BEFORE WE GET OUR PART - IN THE MEANTIME THE OTHER SLIDING DOOR IS NOW HAVING PROBLEMS OPENING. HAVING A PART ON NATION WIDE BACK ORDER FOR 4+ MONTHS, WITH MULTIPLE PEOPLE IN A TOWN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, AND IT BEING ONE THAT MAKES A SAFE AND FAST EXIT/ENTRANCE INTO THE VEHICLE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT SEEMS LIKE A RECALL-ABLE PROBLEM. WE ASK YOUR ASSISTANCE IN GATHERING DATA IN THIS REGARD SO THAT HOPEFULLY CHRYSLER WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND TAKE MORE EXPEDIENT CARE OF THE PROBLEM. *TR
VAN HAS AN AUTOMATIC REAR HATCH DOOR THAT CLOSES UP AND DOWN. THE KEY FOB HAS A BUTTON THAT MUST BE PUSHED TWICE TO CLOSE OR OPEN THE REAR HATCH. THERE HAVE BEEN FOUR INCIDENTS WHERE THE DOOR HAS CLOSED ON ITS OWN. ONE OF THESE INCIDENTS WAS VERIFIED BY A FAMILY MEMBER WHO WAS USING THE VEHICLE AND HAD NOT PUSHED THE BUTTONS AND THE DOOR JUST CAME DOWN ON THEM. IN TWO OF THE INCIDENTS AN ELDERLY PERSON WAS HURT AND HAD TO GO TO THE DOCTOR AND IN ONE CASE THE HOSPITAL.
2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WITH 48K MILES ON IT NOTICE WHINNING NOISE FROM FRONT END SOUNDED LIKE POWER STEERING AS WELL AS A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE FRONT END WHEN DRIVING ALSO A NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE A ONE DRIVING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS ON THE ROAD WHEN YOU TURNED LEFT TOOK TO INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ONCE REPLACE THE WHINNING NOISE WAS CORRECTED BUT THE RATTLE AND THE RUMBLE STRIP NOISE STILL REMIND THE MECHANIC THAN SAID THE STRUTS AND BALL JOINTS WERE BAD AND THEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED HE WAS VERY SURPRISED DUE TO THE NEWNESS AND LOW MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
MY 2007 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY IS HAVING A TRANSMISSION FAILURE PROBLEM. WITHOUT WARNING MY VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE VEHICLE WILL NO LONGER SHIFT INTO IT'S THIRD RANGE. EVEN AFTER I SHUT OFF MY VEHICLE AND RESTART IT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON AND THE COMPUTER CODES ALL SET HARD. ONCE TAKEN TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP EVERYTHING CAN BE RESET WITH THE MECHANIC RESETTING THE COMPUTER CODES. AT THIS POINT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS PROPERLY. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THEIR POWERTRAIN WARRANTY AND THEY HAVE NOT HAD ANY OTHER REPORTED EVENTS SUCH AS MINE. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 35,000 MILES ON IT AND I DON'T FEEL THAT THIS IS A USUAL FAILURE. SOMETHING HAS TO BE WRONG WITH THE WAY THE TRANSMISSION WAS BUILT. *TR
2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. CONSUMER STATES THAT HE IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS). THE LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE AT ANY TIME EVEN WHEN THE TIRES HAD PROPER AIR. HE STATES HE HAS TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. *KB THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED A COUPLE OF TIMES, AS WELL AS THE TORQUE CONVERTER. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY TOURING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR FAILED AND THE SCREEN FILTER HAD BECOME CLOGGED WITH OIL. WHEN THE SCREEN BECAME CLOGGED IT WOULD DEPRIVE THE STEERING UNIT OR RECEIVING ANY FLUIDS NEEDED TO OPERATE CORRECTLY. THE DEALER REPLACED THE POWER STEERING UNIT AND WATER PUMP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EXACT SAME FAILURE RECURRED IN APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR AND THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND WATER PUMP WAS REPLACED A SECOND TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 87,555.
DRIVER'S AIR BAG LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE OCCASIONALLY - TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WOULD COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD BY O'NEAL CHRYSLER (RALEIGH, NC) THAT IT MUST BE A LOOSE CONNECTION AND UNTIL THEY COULD SEE IT THEMSELVES, THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING. I TOOK IT IN TWICE MORE AS THE LIGHT WOULD COME ON EVERY FEW MONTHS, BUT ONLY STAY ON A FOR A FEW SECONDS. WE HAVE THE 100,000 EXTENDED WARRANTY. FAST FORWARD TO 2012 - THE LIGHT WOULD COME ONE EVERY OTHER DAY, BUT NOT STAY ON LONG ENOUGH TO GET IT TO THE DEALER. I MADE ONE LAST ATTEMPT AND CALLED DEALER TO GET FIXED, BUT THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE, BUT THAT IF I WANTED, THEY COULD PUT IN A NEW AIR BAG SYSTEM AT ABOUT $1000. FAST FORWARD TO 2014 - NOW 124,000 MILES, THE LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE 10-20% OF THE TIME WHEN DRIVING. I TOOK IT BY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP THAT SAID IT WAS A "DRIVERS SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER OPEN". INTERNET SEARCH SUGGEST THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER. *TR
VEHICLE WILL STALL AND USUALLY COMPLETELY CUTS OFF AFTER GAS TANK HAS BEEN FILLED. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME. AFTER THIS HAPPENS IT IS HARD TO RE-START AND HAS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BE STRANDED IN THE ROAD. *TR
WHEN TURNING ON THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL TO MAKE A TURN OUR 2007 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY WITH 20,00 MILES BUT OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE IT IS 38 MONTHS IN SERVICE, THE LEFT TURN INDICATOR FLASHER ON AS YOU START THE TURN , WHICH HAS CAUSED A NEAR MISS AS OTHER DRIVERS DO NOT KNOW IF ITS A RIGHT TURN OR LEFT TURN THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND CHRYSLER SHOULD BE FORCED TO RECALL ALL 2006 2007 CHRYSLER TO REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. *TR
WHINNING NOISE IN POWER STEERING GRUMBLING NOISE HARD TURNING. *TR
SLIDER DOORS ON MY MINIVAN WILL NOT OPEN AND CLOSE COMPLETELY ELECTRICALLY. CHRYSLER HAS ADMITTED THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH A SHORT IN THE WIRING HARNESS BY RECALLING CERTAIN VEHICLES. ON MY CAR THERE ARE TIMES WHEN THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED MANUALLY OR ELECTRICALLY FROM INSIDE THE CAR. THERE HAVE BEEN SOME CARS THAT STARTED ON FIRE. WHY DOESN'T CHRYSLER ADMIT THEY HAVE A BIG PROBLEM FOR MANY YEARS AND RECALL THESE VEHICLES AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM BEFORE THEY HAVE A SEVERE PROBLEM.
THE VEHICLE STALLS INTERMITTENTLY AT ANY SPEED IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST ONE TIME PER WEEK FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. *TR
I HAVE OWNED A 2007 TOWN AND COUNTY FROM NEW. YESTERDAY FOR THE 6TH TIME WHEN I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF THE LEFT HAND SLIDING DOOR OPENED BY ITSELF. I CALLED CHRYSLER SOME TIME BACK ABOUT THIS AND THEY HAD NO HISTORY OF THIS HAPPENING. THE VEHICLE HAS ABOUT 36,000 MILES ON IT. WE USE THE VEHICLE PRIMARILY FOR TRAVELING AND WITH OUR DOGS. CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF I PULLED INTO A REST AREA AND THE DOOR OPENED BY ITSELF!!! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH WHEN SHE MADE A RIGHT TURN THE VEHICLE WENT TO THE LEFT AND ONTO A SIDEWALK. WHILE THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ACROSS THE ROAD IT LEFT A DEEP INDENTATION IN THE ASPHALT. THE CONTACT AND PASSENGER SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES IN THE CRASH. THE AIR BAGS DID DEPLOY. UPON INSPECTION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FRAME ON THE VEHICLE WAS CRACKED IN HALF AND PART OF IT IS HANGING DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HER RESIDENCE UNTIL THE INSURANCE COMPANY ADVISED HER WHAT STEPS TO TAKE. CHRYSLER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 66,000.
2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT BRAKE HAD UNUSUALLY FAST WEAR AND GAVE NO AUDIO WARNING OF LOW PAD MATERIAL. I TOOK MY '07 T&C WITH 28,180 MILES INTO CHRYSLER DEALER WITH GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. DIAGNOSIS REVEAL ROTOR GRIND THRU AND MUST REPLACE FRONT PADS AND ROTORS. 3 THINGS UNUSUAL: 1. OUT OF 6 NEW CARS I'VE OWNED AND DRIVEN IN THE SAME FASHION, THIS CHRYSLER'S BRAKES WORN OUT UNUSUALLY FAST COMPARED WITH THE OTHERS. 2. THERE WAS NO AUDIO WARNING ON THIS CHRYSLER TO ALTER YOU THAT THE PADS ARE THIN. I SUDDENLY START TO HEAR A GRINDING SOUND ON SATURDAY, AND ON MONDAY, THE DEALER TELLS ME I'VE WORN THRU THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT ROTOR. 3. ALTHOUGH THE DRIVER'S SIDE ROTOR IS "COMPLETELY DOWN TO THE METAL" (ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT), THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT PAD WAS STILL GOOD. *TR
INTERMITTENTLY HEADLIGHTS GETTING OFF WHILE DRIVING . TRIED STOP THE VAN AND RESTARTED TO SEE IF HEADLIGHTS COME ON. NO LUCK. THIS IS HAPPENING FOR THE LAST 8 MONTHS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. 2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. CONSUMER WRITES REGARDING VEHICLE REPAIRS AND WARRANTY *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE AXLE BROKE IN HALF AND FELL TO THE GROUND. ALSO, ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK REVEALED THE EGR FAILED AND EGR GASKET FAILED. *JB

THE WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHENEVER STARTING THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING UPON A RESPONSE FROM THE AUTHORIZED DEALER REGARDING THE CAUSE OF FAILURE AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT FILING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,091.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING 45 MPH OR OVER THE VEHICLE SHUTTERS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THE FLASH ALSO HAD TO BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE SHUTTERING STARTED AFTER A CV JOINT WAS REPLACED BY A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 48,000.
2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WITH STOW AND GO SEATS, DRIVING DOWN A STREET IN LUBBOCK, TX THE LANE HAD ABOUT 3 INCHES OF RAIN WATER IN IT. HEARD A LOUD NOISE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE VAN. THE NEXT DAY I DISCOVERED THAT THE SPARE TIRE ASSEMBLY WAS MISSING. THOUGH THIS MAY NOT BE A SAFETY CONCERN TO ME, IT MAY BE TO OTHERS FOLLOWING. I THINK THE WATER PRESSURE SPLASHING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE VAN CAUSED THE CABLE HOLDING THE SPARE TIRE ASSEMBLY TO LOOSEN AND EVENTUALLY SNAP. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AT INTERSTATE SPEED, 70 MPH, AND THE CAR SHUT ITSELF OFF--LOST ALL POWER. I WAS FORCED TO CAREFULLY CHANGE LANES, AND EASE MY WAY TO THE SHOULDER. THE ODOMETER READ 0 MPH AND THE GAS GAUGE READ EMPTY. THIS WAS UNSAFE AS I COULD HAVE BEEN REAR-ENDED OR SIDE SWIPED. THIS WAS THE THIRD OCCURRENCE. THE MILEAGE IS 40,500. *TR
PRETTY MUCH EVER SINCE I'VE HAD THE CAR, I WILL OCCASIONALLY BE DRIVING AND BUMP THE KEY WITH MY KNEE, TURNING THE VAN OFF ALTOGETHER. THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING WITH THE ENGINE OFF, SO I HAVE TO TRY TO TURN ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS AND CAREFULLY NAVIGATE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO PUT THE VAN IN "PARK" AGAIN SO THAT I CAN RESTART IT (I CAN'T RESTART IT WHILE I'M STILL MOVING). I AM VERY, VERY CAREFUL TO TRY TO NEVER EVEN TOUCH THE KEY WITH MY KNEE SO THAT THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN, BUT IT STILL DOES OCCASIONALLY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED AFTER PUSHING THE REAR DOOR AJAR BUTTON, THE REAR WINDOW SUDDENLY SHATTERED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALERSHIP NOR WAS IT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 75,000.
WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FILLED UP WITH FUEL, IT STALLED WITHIN A FEW MINUTES OF THE FILL UP. I WAS BARELY MOVING. NOW, THIS HAPPENS ON EVERY FILL UP. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I AM DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR IN TOWN, IF IT IS AFTER A FILL UP, IT STALLS OR SPUTTERS. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF IT IS (SUMMER OR WINTER), (WET OR DRY), OR (ENGINE HOT OR COLD). THIS IS DANGEROUS. *TR
2007 TOWN & COUNTRY TOURING, WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, IT WOULD CONTINUE TO GO DOWN ALMOST TO FLOOR. *BF THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED HE HEARD A SLIGHT GROAN NOISE COMING FROM THE RIGHT WHEEL WHEN HE MADE A LEFT TURN. THE DEALER CLAIMED THEY DIDN'T HEAR A NOISE. *JB
THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR LOCK DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE REMOTE OR INSIDE CONTROL FOR LOCKING AND UNLOCKING. IT ONLY WORKS WHEN CONTROLLED MANUALLY. *TR
2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY MINIVAN SLIDING DOOR LOCK FAILS TO OPEN WITH POWER BUTTON OR KEYLESS FOB. THIS REQUIRES A MANUAL INTERVENTION TO UNLOCK THE DOOR AND THEN MANUALLY OPEN THE DOOR. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN CASE OF EMERGENCY WHICH WOULD HAMPER IMMEDIATE EGRESS. WEB SITES SUGGEST TO RESET THE IOD FUSE OR CHANGE OUT AN EXPENSIVE BCM. HOWEVER, THIS ONLY TREATS THE SYMPTOM. THERE ARE NO RECALLS OR CHRYSLER HELP TO IDENTIFY OR FIX THE ROOT CAUSE, NOT JUST THE PROXIMAL CAUSE. I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN AND BELIEVE THIS COULD BE LIFE THREATENING IF THE POWER/KEYLESS LOCKS FAIL TO OPEN DURING A TRAUMATIC EVENT REQUIRING IMMEDIATE EGRESS. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED BECAUSE IT WAS LEAKING INTERNALLY CAUSING IT TO LOSE HYDRAULIC PRESSURE. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE FAILURE WAS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE MILEAGE BEING LOW. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 30,000. 2007 T& C. CHECK OIL AFTER 30,000 AND DISCOVERED 1 1/2 QT LOW. DEALER ADVISED IT IS NORMAL TO USE 1 QT PER 1,000 MILES. (I NEVER HAD A CAR DO THAT LET ALONE ONE WITH ONLY 30,000 MILES). I NOW HAVE 42,000 MILES AND STILL CONSUMES ABOUT 1 QT + PER 1,000 MILES. I HAVE REGISTERED A COMPLAINT EACH TIME I TAKE IT IN FOR SERVICE. *TR

NEED TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT AT 53,000 MILES ON OUR 2007 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT GO AFTER 53,000 MILES . I COULD UNDERSTAND IF I HAD 100,000 MILES OR MORE. JUST CHEAP MATERIALS USED TO SAVE MONEY, THE METAL SHAVINGS WERE FOUND WHEN WE HAD THE TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGED BEFORE WE TOOK A LONG TRIP OUT OF THE COUNTRY, TO CANADA. THE REPAIR SHOP NOTICE A PROBLEM AND WARNED US TO NOT WAIT TO LONG TO FIX THE PROBLEM. UPON FIXING THE TRANSMISSION THEY ALSO FOUND PIECES OF METAL FROM POSSIBLY THE GEARS WERE BREAKING UP OR THE HOUSING THAT HOLDS THE NEEDLE BEARINGS CRACKED AND WAS ADDING TO THE PROBLEM. WE CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORP. ABOUT THE PROBLEM , BUT ALL THEY WOULD DO IS, NOTHING, BECAUSE WE DID NOT PURCHASE A EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEIR WARRANTY WEB SITE STATED THAT 2007 MODELS PURCHASED AFTER JULY OF 2007, THAT THEY WERE GIVING A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THE POWER TRAIN. SOUNDS TO ME , THEY EITHER FOUND OUT ABOUT THE PROBLEM , OR SOME OTHER REASON. NEVERTHELESS, THE MATERIAL USE WAS INADEQUATE, PROCESSES SUCH AS HARDENING OF THE GEARS, WERE WRONG, BUT YET PASSED INSPECTION. I COULD HAVE BEEN IN SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF THE METAL SHAVINGS, OR METAL PIECES GOT IN BETWEEN THE TEETH OF THE GEAR TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT COST ME ABOUT $3,500.00 TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION. I SENT A LETTER TO CHRYSLER CORP. EXPLAINING THE PROBLEM, WITH COPIES OF THE REPAIR WORK DONE PLUS RENTAL CAR THAT WAS NEEDED FOR A WEEK. SOME MY HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY SO, THEY DID NOT COMPLAIN. I FELL CHRYSLER SHOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR THIS. *TR

THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE AXLE NUTS ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE CONTINUED TO BECOME LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES TO HAVE THE NUTS TIGHTENED YET THE FAILURE CONTINUOUSLY RECURRED. THE CONTACT HAD EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE AT LEAST FOUR TIMES. THE MANUFACTURE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE TO THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
2007 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AT 30 MPH, THE REAR WINDOW "EXPLODED". THERE WAS NO OTHER CAR AROUND, NO OTHER CAR PASSED ME BY THAT WOULD HAVE KICKED SOMETHING UP FROM THE ROADWAY. THERE WERE NO PEOPLE, KIDS OR ANIMALS IN THE AREA. TEMPERATURE WAS 29 DEGREE'S. THE REAR DEFOGGER WAS NOT TURNED ON AND THE REAR WIPER WAS NOT ON. THERE WAS A HOLE APPROX 12" X 6" ON THE UPPER LEFT OF THE WINDOW - THE REST OF THE GLASS WAS SHATTERED. THE GLASS FELL INTO THE VAN ON THE FLOOR. THERE WAS NO OBJECT (ROCK, ICE, SNOWBALL) IN THE VAN. NOTHING COULD BE SEEN ON THE ROAD. THE WINDOW WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $358.27. THIS HAPPENED ON 02/15/10. IN AUGUST OF 2008, THIS VAN WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. WE WERE INSIDE AND HEARD A LOUD "CRASH". THE REAR WINDOW HAD EXPLODED LEAVING A LARGE HOLE IN THE GLASS. THERE WAS NO OBJECT IN THE VAN OR ON THE GROUND AROUND THE VAN THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED IT. THE WINDOW WAS REPLACED. *TR I CALLED THE DEALER REGARDING THIS RECENT WINDOW AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO REPORTS OR COMPLAINTS LIKE MINE. I PLACED MY PROBLEM ON THE EDMUNDS FORUM AND RECEIVED A RESPONSE FROM 1 PERSON WHO CLAIMS THEIR TAIL LIGHT ENCLOSURE EXPLODES. HIS MECHANIC CLAIMS IT IS DUE TO EXCESSIVE VIBRATION OF THE TAILGATE. *TR
THREE INCIDENTS OF THE SAME HAPPENING. LAST INCIDENT WHILE DRIVING AT 70MPH ON INTERSTATE, THE MOTOR SHUT OFF, THE SPEEDOMETER REGISTERED "0" AND THE GAS GAUGE REGISTERED "0". I WAS FORCED TO MAKE MY WAY CAUTIOUSLY TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. AFTER CALMING DOWN FROM THE FRIGHT, I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CARE AND RESUME THE TRIP. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED AT 45MPH ON CITY STREET AND THE NEXT TIME WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT. VERY DANGEROUS. MAY HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED AS THE CAR SLOWED DOWN DRASTICALLY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE FRONT RIGHT TIE ROD FOUR TIMES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

I STARTED TO HEAR A WHINING NOISE THAT OCCURRED AFTER I HAD BEEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN COLD WEATHER IN MID-JANUARY, AND I WAS APPROACHING 40,000 MILES ON MY MINIVAN. THE MORE DRIVING, THE LOUDER THE NOISE WOULD GET, AND IT WAS LOUDEST WHEN I WAS IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT,ETC. PRESSING THE GAS WOULD MAKE IT WHINE LOUDER. IT'S THE POWER STEERING--THE FILTER IS NOT GOOD AND BECAUSE OF THE WAY THE RESERVOIR AND FILTER ARE HOUSED, THEY NEED TO REPLACE EVERYTHING, ABOUT $300. MY 2007 T & C MINIVAN HAS A FAULTY DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY ON THE REAR PASSENGER SLIDE DOOR. THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS REPLACE ON AVERAGE 5 OF THESE A WEEK. YOU CANNOT GO TO THE JUNK YARD AND GET A REPLACEMENT PART, THEY ARE UPDATING WITH BRAND PARTS BECAUSE ALL THE OLD PARTS ARE DEFECTIVE. THE DOOR WILL NOT POP UP OR DOWN WITH THE AUTOMATIC LOCKS. THIS IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM AND IT SHOULD BE A RECALLL. THE PART IS $400+ AND THE LABOR IS $200+ JUST FOR A LOCK!
I HATE TO JUMP ON THE "STUCK GAS PEDAL " BAND-WAGON HERE BUT I HAVE A 2007 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY THAT I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH. WHEN I GET IN THE VAN AND START IT THE GAS PEDAL GETS STUCK IN THE "UP" POSITION. NOW, ONCE I PRESS HARD ON IT, IT BREAKS IT FREE. BUT THE PROBLEM IS WHEN I HAVE TO PRESS HARD ON IT BREAKS LOOSE AND CAUSES THE VAN TO ACCELERATE RAPIDLY. NOW, IT DOES THIS VERY OFTEN, I WOULD SAY IT DOES IT ABOUT 60 TO 70% OF THE TIME. ALSO, IT WILL DO IT SEVERAL TIMES A DAY, FOR EXAMPLE. IT WILL DO IT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING, THEN AGAIN AFTER I STOP TO GET GAS, THEN AGAIN WHEN I GET IN IT TO HEAD HOME FOR THE DAY. ANYTIME, WHEN I STOP AND SHUT OFF THE MOTOR, I RUN THE RISK OF IT GETTING STUCK WHEN I START IT. I CONTACTED THE DEALER ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THEY TOLD ME THEY KNEW "EXACTLY" WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS, NOW THIS TELLS ME THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. I HAVE NEVER LODGED A COMPLAINT ABOUT ANYTHING BUT THIS IS PRETTY DANGEROUS, AND IF THEY KNOW "EXACTLY" WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT CHRYSLER NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
