THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE TO SCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. STARTING IN DEC. 2014 MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT START, IT JUST CLICKED AND CLICKED BUT WOULD NOT START. THE DEALER SAID THE WIRE HARNESS NEEDED REPLACED BUT THEY ONLY SPLICED THE CABLE AND REPLACED THE BATTERY TERMINALS WHICH DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND LATER BOTH CABLES SPLICED MELTED. THE STARTER HAD TO BE REPLACED BUT STILL HAD THE STARTING PROBLEM, START SOMETIMES OR WOULD CLICK,CLICK, CLICK HOWEVER MANY TIMES UNTIL IT STARTED. IT HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALER 4 TIMES AND STILL GOING BACK AGAIN AFTER REPLACING THE IGNITION SWITCH AND FINALLY PUTTING IN A NEW HARNESS AUGUST 17, 2015, HAD IT BACK ONE DAY AND 35 CLICKS LATER IT STARTED; WILL BE TAKING BACK TO THE DEALER NEXT WEEK TO CONTINUE SEARCHING FOR WHY IT KEEPS DOING THIS. I FEAR THAT IT WILL JUST TURN OFF AND STOP IN THE STREET AGAIN AS IT DID AUG. 5, 2015, THAT WAS SO SCARY! I HAVE SEEN FORUMS ONLINE THAT HAS PERSON AFTER PERSON COMPLAINING OF THE SAME PROBLEM. THAT IS WHY I DECIDED TO WRITE A COMPLIANT HERE. BEFORE ALL OF THIS AT THE DEALER IT WOULD NOT START SO PUT IN A NEW BATTERY BUT IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS MAKE IT SO HARD TO KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN OR NOT.

THE KEY PHOBE GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND WONT TURN ALL THE WAY OFF AND TODAY I PUT THE KEY IN AND THE IGNITION WOULD NOT TURN. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT HAS RESULTED IN ME BEING STRANDED UNTIL THE IGNITON DECIDES TO WORK.

I OWN A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V373000(ELECTRICAL) WAS RECEIVED IN AUGUST OR SEPTEMBER 2014. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME TO RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD LIKELY BE SEVERAL MORE MONTHS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. *JS
MY SON AND A FRIEND TOOK MY CAR TO A MOVIE. THE CAR SUDDENLY QUIT RUNNING WHILE DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 25MPH. THERE HAVE BEEN TWO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE CONCERNING THE WIN MODULE AND WIN MODULE DETENTS. IN 2010 I EXPERIENCED THE SAME EXACT ISSUE, HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THE PROBLEM. THIS RECENT INCIDENT WAS EXACTLY LIKE THE FIRST. THE DEALERSHIP IS REFUSING TO REPLACE THE MODULE AND WANTS ME TO PAY $600 TO HAVE IT FIXED. THE CAR WILL NOT START WITHOUT THIS REPAIR. I AM AT WITS END WONDERING WHY IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE REPAIR. *TR

I HAVE RECEIVED (3) INDIVIDUAL RECALL NOTICES, GOING BACK TO AROUND 2014-15 CONCERNING AN "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" CONCERNING "WIRELESS IGNITION NODE MODULE DEFECTS. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM, FRIENDSHIP CHRYSLER IN BRISTOL, TN, AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE PLACED ON A WAITING LIST. TODAY'S DATE IS JANUARY 23, 2016, I HAVE SINCE RECEIVED TWO ADDITIONAL NOTICES, BUT HAVE ONLY BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE PART IS NOT IN AND I AM ON A WAITING LIST. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE INVOLVING A VAN THAT IS TYPICALLY PURCHASED TO "SAFELY" TRANSPORT FAMILIES. I THINK THE DELAY IS INSANE. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE HOLDUP IS?

FIRST TIME USING A BRAND NEW CHRYSLER KEY, ONE OF TWO REPLACED UNDER A SAFETY RECALL IN 2010. VEHICLE STARTED AND ENGINE RAN FINE. STARTED A TRIP ON THE HIGHWAY BUT I THEN NOTICED CERTAIN ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS WOULD NOT OPERATE, INCLUDING WINDSHIELD WIPERS, DEFROSTER, POWER WINDOWS, ADJUSTABLE POWER ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDALS, CRUISE CONTROL, RADIO, AND SEAT HEATERS. I PULLED OFF ON THE NEXT EXIT AND TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. THEN RESTARTED VEHICLE AND EVERYTHING WORKED NORMALLY. ON THE REST OF THIS 5-DAY TRIP, THIS HAPPENED ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME I STARTED THE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THIS IS CAUSED BY THE KEY NOT PROPERLY TRAVELING FROM THE "START" TO THE "ON" POSITION AFTER STARTING (IN ESSENCE, STICKING IN THE START POSITION). I DISCOVERED A SEPT., 2014, RECALL (P57) THAT INDICATES OTHER 2008 CHRYSLER VEHICLES CAN HAVE THESE SAME SYMPTOMS. THIS MINIVAN IS CURRENTLY AWAITING RECALL L25, WHICH WAS BEGUN IN JUNE, 2014. THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP TO ME HAS TOLD ME REPEATEDLY THAT THEY DO NOT AND CANNOT GET THE PARTS TO IMPLEMENT THE L25 RECALL, WHICH ADDS A DETENT RING TO THE IGNITION. THE L25 RECALL ALSO INVOLVES THE IGNITION KEY POTENTIALLY MOVING TO AN IMPROPER POSITION, IN THAT SITUATION FROM THE "ON" TO "ACCESSORY" POSITION. CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE SAYS MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE P57 RECALL AND WILL NOT PAY FOR ANY REPAIRS RELATED TO MY PROBLEM. NOTE THAT IN MY CASE, THE KEY USED WHEN THIS HAPPENS IS BRAND NEW, MADE BY CHRYSLER, AND SUPPLIED DURING ANOTHER SAFETY RECALL INVOLVING THE IGNITION. I HAVE SAFETY CONCERNS ABOUT AN IGNITION WHICH ALLOWS THE MINIVAN TO START YET LEAVES KEY SAFETY ACCESSORIES SUCH AS THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, DEFROSTERS, POWER WINDOWS AND POWER ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDALS INOPERATIVE. NOTE THAT ACCORDING TO RECALL P57, CHRYSLER IGNITIONS INSTALLED IN OTHER MODELS OF THE SAME YEAR HAVE BEEN SHOWN TO HAVE THESE SAME PROBLEMS. *TR

PUSHED THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB ONE DAY AND THE HORN STARTED BLARING, WINDSHIELD WASHER SPRAYING, FRONT AND REAR WIPERS RUNNING, DOORS LOCKING/UNLOCKING. I HAD TO GET THE HARD KEY OUT OF THE FOB TO UNLOCK THE DOORS AND POP THE HOOD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. THE PROBLEM CLEARED RANDOMLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 7 TIMES. I FINALLY DECIDED TO PULL THE FUSES FOR THE HORN AS NOT TO ANNOY THE NEIGHBORS. THE NEXT TIME IT WENT OFF, I HEARD CLICKING NOISES FROM THE FUSE BOX UNDER THE HOOD. I TAPPED THE FUSE BOX THE PROBLEM STOPPED. I DON'T NOTICE ANYTHING SUSPICIOUS THAT MIGHT BE CAUSING THIS. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE PROBLEM HAS ALSO BEEN TRIGGERED WHILE TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR WHILE LOCKED. BASED ON THE OTHER COMPLAINTS, I THINK THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. THE VEHICLE IS GREAT OTHERWISE. IT IS A SHAME WHEN YOU THINK YOU HAVE A GOOD VEHICLE AND THEN SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY FAMILY IN THE VAN. *TR
