TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE DEALER ADVISED HER THAT A WIRE HAD FRACTURED AT THE LINK POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE WIRE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,839 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 8,900. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED AS THE ESP WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
PURCHASED A USED 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY MARCH 19,2011..ON THE SECOND DAY MARCH 20, 2011 WITH 17823 MILES THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. AT THAT TIME WASN'T SURE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. IT OCCURRED 2 MORE TIMES IN THE NEXT WEEK. STILL UNSURE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THEN ON APRIL 5 IT OCCURRED AGAIN WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN. WE THEN REALIZED IT WAS ACTUALLY SHUTTING OFF IN DRIVE. WHEN IT HAPPENS EVERYTHING SHUTS OFF (LOSING POWER STEERING ETC) MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO PULL OVER AND RESTART VEHICLE. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THERE WAS NO DTCS OCCURRING. LEFT IT AT DEALER ANOTHER DAY AND STILL NO DUPLICATION. HAVE HAD CAR BACK FOR TWO MORE DAYS WITH DEALER AND STILL NO DUPLICATION. SO AT THIS POINT THEY ARE UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING FOR US. THE PART THAT IS FAILING WE BELIEVE IS THE WIN MODULE. IT IS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS. IT APPEARS THAT A RECALL MAY BE COMING OUT BUT NOT SURE IF IT WILL INCLUDE OUR VEHICLE. SPOKE WITH CHRYSLER MANY TIMES AND THEY CAN NOT CONFIRM THAT ALSO THEY AGREED THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. WILL NOT PROVIDE LOANER OR RENTAL CAR BECAUSE OF NO DUPLICATION OF PROBLEM AT DEALERS. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED AND NOT SURE WHAT TO DO. JUST DON'T DRIVE VERY MUCH. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT RENTED A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER WAITING FIVE MINUTES, THE ENGINE RESTARTED. THE IDENTICAL FAILURE RECURRED FOR THE SECOND TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER WAS PERFORMING A FURTHER INVESTIGATION TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THERE WAS A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V139000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION). THE CONTACT WAS WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM THE DEALER TO FIND OUT IF THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 25,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SURGE WHILE IN REVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE SURGING WAS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SURGING WAS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD POSSIBLY RESULT IN A CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,500.

SLIDING PASSENGER DOOR FAILS TO WORK PROPERLY OPENS AND CLOSES AT WILL. HAS CAUGHT SEVERAL CHILDREN WITH OUT REOPENING UPON CONTACT. CONTINUE TO STALL AFTER RECALL AS DID BEFORE RECALL FIX. BATTERY CAUSED CORROSION TO EAT AWAY CABLES. EVEN WHEN SERVICED LIKE SUPPOSED TO. LEATHER SEATS RIPPED WITHIN 2 MTHS OF PURCHASE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW. ELECTRICALLY GAS MILEAGE FLUCTUATES ALL THE TIME EXAMPLE 410 ON FILL UP THEN 2 MILES DN ROAD IT SAYS 60 MILES LEFT ETC. YET CHRYSLER DEALER CLAIMS ALL THE TIME NO DX ON ANYTHING. JUST SHUT COMPLETELY DOWN TODAY AS WAS TURNING ENDED UP HALF IN ROAD THANK GOD CAR BEHIND PAYING ATTENTION AND DUMP TRUCK WAS COMING ALSO PAID ATTENTION OR ELSE DAUGHTER AND I COULD HAVE BEEN HURT SEVERELY. NEVER BUY A CHRYSLER THAT'S MY RESPONSE. THEN HAD TOWED DEALER SAID WAS RELAY SWITCH THEY CHANGED IT BROUGHT ME THE VEHICLE THEN I WENT TO DRIVE OUT AND IT DIED AGAIN SO I GUESS NOT. *KB *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY TOURING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,300.
I WAS TRAVELING FROM PA TO PALM COAST FL AND WHEN I WAS ABOUT TEN BLOCKS FROM MY DESTINATION THE CAR SLOWED UNTIL IT WAS HARDLY MOVING AND ALL OF THE TROUBLE LIGHTS LIT UP ON THE DASHBOARD. AFTER ABOUT FIFTEEN MINUTES OF BARELY MOVING IT SPED UP FOR AWHILE AND THEN SLOWED DOWN AND THE SAME SEQUENCE OF EVENTS HAPPENED. I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION AND CALLED THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT IT WOULD BE OVER A WEEK BEFORE THEY COULD LOOK AT MY CAR. I CALLED MY BROTHERS MECHANIC AND DROVE THE CAR TO HIS SHOP WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. THE NEXT DAY I PICKED UP THE CAR AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEM WHICH CONNECTS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE ENGINE VIA SENSORS WAS PLUGGED UP WITH A GOOEY SUBSTANCE THAT EXTENDED TO THE ENGINE. HE ATTRIBUTED THIS TO THE ETHANOL ALCOHOL WHICH HE CLAIMED WAS A SOLVENT WHICH WILL DISSOLVE PLASTIC, RUBBER AND CERTAIN TYPES OF FIBER GLASS AND EVEN ALUMINUM. HE WENT ON FURTHER TO SAY THAT IT PROBABLY WAS CAUSED BY A CONCENTRATION OF ETHANOL IN THE TANKS AT THE GAS STATIONS WITCH BY LAW HAS TO HAVE 10% BUT WHEN THE TANKS ARE LOW COULD BE AS MUCH AS 50%. HE REMEDIED THE CONDITION BY PUTTING A CLEANING FLUID THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE SYSTEM AND ENGINE. MY CONCERN IS WHAT IF THIS ELECTRONIC CONTROL HAD INSTEAD OF STICKING AND SLOWING THE CAR DOWN HAD STUCK WHEN I WAS DOING 70 MPH ON I95. REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TOYOTA. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT A NUMBER OF SMALL ENGINE MANUFACTURERS WILL NOT WARRANTY PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THE CONCENTRATION OF ETHANOL. THE RECORDS SHOW THAT THIS HAS BEEN A CONTINUING PROBLEM DAMAGING AND EVEN RUING SMALL ENGINES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AS IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION YET THE FAILURE RECURRED ONE WEEK LATER. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS OF REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,200.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE KEY INADVERTENTLY TURNED INTO THE ACCESSORY POSITION. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY TURN THE KEY BACK INTO THE NORMAL POSITION AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS WERE MADE. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V139000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: IGNITION), AND PLANNED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED WHEN PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
SHORTLY AFTER A BRAND NEW 2010 TOWN & COUNTRY I STARTED TO GET SHAKING IN THE STEERING. THE SHAKING WOULD START WHEN I TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL FOR MINIVANS AND THAT I MUST BE DRIVING ON HILLS. THEY SAID THE BRAKES WOULD NEED TO BE RESURFACED. THEY DIDN'T OFFER TO DO THAT AT THAT TIME AND SAID IT WAS MY PROBLEM. AFTER A FEW MORE MONTHS AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUALLY GETTING WORSE, I COULDN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE AND WAS READY TO PAY FOR NEW BRAKES. THE DEALERSHIP PROVIDED SOME SORT OF WARRANTY AND I HAD TO PAY A DEDUCTIBLE. THAT SOLVED THE PROBLEM FOR A TIME. AFTER ABOUT A YEAR, I STARTED GETTING SOME SHAKING ON MY TIRES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE BRAKES WERE WEARING DOWN AND THAT THEY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED SOON. I WAS SURPRISED BECAUSE THE CAR WAS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAD ABOUT 20K IN MILEAGE. I DIDN'T GET ANY REPAIR AT THAT TIME. NOW IT'S BEEN ABOUT ANOTHER 6 MONTHS AND MY BRAKES ARE COMPLETELY SHOT. THE ROTORS HAVE BEEN WORN DOWN AND NEED TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE PADS. THIS WILL BE THE SECOND SET IN JUST OVER 2 YEARS AND THE CAR HAS AROUND 40K IN MILES. I'M GOING TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR AND FILE A CLAIM WITH CHRYSLER. THIS DOESN'T SEEM NORMAL AND IT LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE SOME ISSUES WITH THEIR BRAKES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD DEFOGGER FAILED. WHENEVER THE DEFOGGER WAS TURNED ON HIGH OR LOW, IT WOULD NOT MELT SNOW AND ICE FROM THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. A SERVICE MANAGER INSPECTED THE FAILURE AND CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, WHO STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT TAKE ANY LIABILITY FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,748.
2010 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. CONSUMER STATES LACK OF ALARM ON ELECTRIC OPERATED GATE CREATES A HAZARD *TGW
VERY UNSAFE DEFROSTERS ON THE 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY LIMIT VAN. WHEN TURNED ON IT BLOWS UP IN THE CENTER BUT NOT OUT ON THE SIDES TO CLEAR ICE OR SNOW IN WINTER IN WISCONSIN. WE WERE ON INTERSTATE 90 DURING A SNOW STORM. WE HAD TO PULL OVER TO CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD. IT WOULD NOT KEEP THE ICE AND SNOW FROM BUILDING UP ON THE BOTTOM AND SIDES OF THE OUTSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD & WITH THAT THE WIPERS BECAME THICK WITH ICE. VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE UNDER THAT DESIGN. THE 2011 TOWN & COUNTRY LIMIT VAN HAS A NEW DEFROSTER DESIGN NOW. ANY FIX FOR MY 2010?? *TR
KEY FOB WILL NOT UNLOCK OR OPEN DOORS. HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE VAN WAS PURCHASED. WE HAVE 2 KEY FOBS AND NEITHER WORKS. WAS IN DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES UNDER WARRANTY BUT PROBLEM WAS NEVER REMEDIED.. THEY NOW WANT $450.00 TO REPLACE THE KEY FOBS THAT CHRYSLER TECHNICIANS COULD NOT FIX UNDER WARRANTY. CHRYSLER'S KEY FOB NOT WORKING WOULD HAVE TO BE A PROBLEM COVERING A LARGE NUMBER OF VEHICLES OVER A MULTITUDE OF YEARS .. TRYING TO UNLOCK THE DOORS IN A DARK PARKING LOT AND THEIR NOT UNLOCKING OR OPENING IS VERY A DANGEROUS AND STRESSFUL SITUATION.
2010 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY TOURING, THE ENGINE CUTS OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON. MY VEHICLE HAS CUT OFF 4 TIMES WITHIN THE PAST 45 DAYS , 2/3/2011 TODAY'S DATE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CHRYSLER DEALER, BUT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY THING WRONG WITH THE CAR.PERSONALLY I THINK THE COMPUTER IS THE PROBLEM, I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO A 1983 DODGE DAKOTA AND IT WAS FOUND TO BE THE COMPUTER, REPLACED THE COMPUTER AND DROVE THE TRUCK OVER 1000,000 MORE MILES WITHOUT A PROBLEM. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE VAN DOWN SHIFTING WHILE THE SPEED CONTROL IS ON, WHEN GOING DOWN A HILL. *TR
PURCHASED BRAND NEW, NEVER OWNED 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY, SECOND DAY OF OWNING VEHICLE NOTICED OVER SENSITIVE OBSTRUCTION DETECTION IN THE DRIVER SIDE REAR POWER SLIDING DOOR. HAVE HAD VEHICLE FOR 4 MONTHS AND PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE. HAVE COME OUT FROM STORES TO FIND THE DOOR OPEN BECAUSE IT HAD NOT SHUT PROPERLY. IT ATTEMPTS TO CLOSE THEN REOPENS THEN TRIES TO CLOSE AND GOES THROUGH THIS PROCESS ABOUT 10 TIMES BEFORE HAVING TO MANUALLY SHUT DOOR. RESEARCHED ONLINE AND SEE ITS A CONSTANT PROBLEMS FOR OTHERS AS WELL. DOOR ALSO OPENED ON ME WHILE PUMPING GAS, AND WHILE I WAS QUICK ENOUGH TO REMOVE THE GAS BEFORE HITTING, THE DOOR DID HIT THE GAS CAP AND SHOVE IT INTO THE VAN CAUSING A DENT FROM THE PRESSURE OF THE DOOR.. *TR

AIR BAG DEPLOYED ON DRIVER SIDE LAST NOV 13, 2010 THEN AIR BAG DEPLOYED ON PASSENGER LAST MAY 2010. BOTH DEPLOYED WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED AND ENGINE IS OFF. LAST MAY 2010, AIR BAG DEPLOYED ON PASSENGER SIDE WHILE DRIVING. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND FAILURE WAS LOCATED AT THE FRONT ROTORS, WHICH WERE WORN PREMATURELY. THE FRONT ROTORS WERE REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ALONG WITH THE FAILURE OF THE REAR ROTORS AND THE REAR BRAKES. THE FRONT ROTORS, REAR ROTORS AND THE REAR BRAKES ALL NEEDED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS LESS THAN 40 MPH AND GREATER THAN 30 MPH 3 TIMES ON 30 OCT 2019 AND AGAIN 3 TIMES ON 31 OCT 2019 WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING. THERE WAS NO WARNING. SHE COULD NOT STEER THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP TO START THE VEHICLE. EACH DAY THE STOPPAGES OCCURRED WITHIN 2 HOURS. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED A FEW MONTHS EARLIER AND WAS REPORTED.IF YOU LOCATE THAT REPORT WOULD YOU E-MAIL IT AGAIN TO ME FOR MY RECORDS. THANK YOU/ MARC

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON TWO OCCASIONS WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY BEING DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER FOR THE SIMILAR FAILURES. 2010 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VAN STALLS FREQUENTLY CAUSING COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER, INCLUDING STEERING. THIS OCCURS AT DIFFERENT TIMES, IMMEDIATELY UPON STARTING VEHICLE, DURING ACCELERATION, DURING TURNS, GOING STRAIGHT, AND ALSO WHEN DECELERATING. BASICALLY IT OCCURS WHEN LESS EXPECT IT CAUSING A GREAT SAFETY RISK. DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT CAN'T FIX THE PROBLEM B/C THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE IT. HOWEVER, TODAY IT STALLED ON MAJOR ROAD JUST AS I GOT OFF INTERSTATE AND I WAS ABLE TO COAST IT UP RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR DEALERSHIP. CALLED AND ASKED FOR SERVICE MANAGER TO COME OUT AND SEE FOR HIMSELF. DEALER AND CHRYSLER ACCEPTED NO RESPONSIBILITY, YET SAID THEY WERE REPLACED FOR "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION." EVERY 3000 MILES SINCE, THE GRINDING NOISE RETURNED AND THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED. THE LATEST TIME, THE DEALER DID NOT REPLACE AND SAID, AGAIN, THAT THE GRINDING NOISE WAS NORMAL. SAID PADS HAD 90% LEFT AND WERE NOT "WORN ENOUGH TO WARRANT REPLACEMENT."
