STARTED GETTING A OBD CODE 2017 AND 2004. AFTER REPLACING THE MANIFOLD RUNNER CONTROL VALVE THE LIGHT STAYED ON AND NOW CODE SAYS THAT THE CIRCUIT IS HIGH IN BANK ONE. I TOOK OFF THE RUNNER CONTROL AND TESTED IT SO IT IS A GOOD PART,
THE 2008 DODGE AVENEGER HAD 6 RECALLS. MY 2009 DODGE AVENGER IS DOING EVERYTHING THE 08 WAS RECALLED FOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE AVENGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ROLL DOWN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW WHEN IT SUDDENLY SLID DOWN INTO THE DOOR. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO ROLL THE WINDOW BACK UP. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE MECHANISM THAT HELD THE WINDOW UP FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE FAILURE RECURRED TO THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE SAME FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
RED LIGHTING SYMBOL APPEARS ON THE DASH WHILE I'M ON THE HIGHWAY. SUDDENLY MY CAR LOSES ITS HORSEPOWER AND I BEGIN TO COAST. I PULL OVER TO THE SIDE AND THE CAR BEGINS TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY UNTIL I PUT IT IN PARK. WHEN IN PARK, THE CAR IDLES TO ABOUT 2500 RPM. I'VE DONE A BIT OF RESEARCH AND IT APPEARS COUNTLESS PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AT THE SAME MILEAGE WITH THIS VEHICLE. ACCORDING TO THEM, IT IS CAUSED BY THE ELECTRONIC TROTTLE CONTROL THAT SEEMS TO BE IMPOSSIBLE TO FIX.
2009 DODGE AVENGER RPMS WOULD RISE AND FALL 200-300 AT IDLE. EXHAUST/MUFFLER WOULD RATTLE. HAVE BEEN TO MULTIPLE SHOPS AND THEY CANNOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. IT IS TAKING LONGER TO START UP. THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED 2 MONTHS AGO. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED LAST WEEK. YESTERDAY, IT WAS CHECKED BY AN AUTOZONE EMPLOYEE FOR CODES AND NOTHING CAME UP. I STARTED THE CAR AND IT QUICKLY DIED THERE AFTER. DROVE IT AROUND ALL DAY AFTER THAT AND NOT A PROBLEM. TODAY IT HAD A VERY ROUGH START, RPMS WENT ABOVE 2000 AND BACK DOWN TO ABOUT 400, CONSTANTLY, AND CAR WAS SHAKING A LOT. I BACKED OUT OF THE GARAGE AND WHILE I APPLIED THE BRAKES, IT ALMOST DIED. I BARELY GOT IT IN PARK BEFORE IT DID DIE. THE WHOLE TIME THE CHECK ENGINE AND ETC LIGHTS STAYED ON. THIS IS A FIRST FOR BOTH TO STAY ON. ETC HAS CAME ON BEFORE AND STAYED, THEN NEVER SHOWED UP FOR ANOTHER 1-2 YEARS (NOW0. CAR HAS ALMOST 87,000 MILES.
