TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED AS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AS A RESULT, THE STEERING SEIZED AND FAILED THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE OVER 30 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND OUT OF THE BLUE MY RPM SHOOTS ALMOST TO THE RED AND FELT LIKE IT HAD THE HICCUPS. GOT TO WORK AND HAD THE GUYS TO PUT IT ON THE COMPUTER AND ITS GIVING A POWER UP AT SPEED CODE . THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR LONG ENOUGH. SOMETIME THE CHECK ENGINE COMES ON AND SOMETIMES IT DON'T. WHEN IT DOES THIS IT SCARES ME AND MY CHILDREN . NOBODY IS SURE WHAT THE POWERING UP AT SPEED MEANS AND WHAT PART WILL FIX IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT DUE TO MOVEMENT OF THE ENGINE, THE MAIN PLASTIC WIRING HARNESS WAS FOUND TO BE MELTED. THE DEALER ALSO ADVISED THAT IF THEY HAD NOT DISCOVERED THE FAILURE, IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED SEVERAL OTHER COMPONENTS TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED.
