PASSENGER'S SIDE OF VEHICLE BLOWS COLD AIR WHEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE BLOWS HOT AIR. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH MOST ALL 2011 THRU 2014 DODGE VEHICLES, OF WHICH DODGE IS AWARE OF. THE HEATER CORE IS CLOGGED WITH LEFT OVER FILINGS AND DIRT FROM THE ENGINE WHEN IT WAS MADE. IT IS A MAJOR JOB TO REPLACE THE HEATER CORE. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE A RECALL AS IT IS A PROBLEM CREATED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS MADE.
MY DODGE AVENGER HAS THE SAME PROBLEM THAT EVERYONE ELSE'S CAR HAS WITH A 3.6L VVT IN THE CAR, THE ENGINE OIL COOLER CRACKS, AND SPRAYS OIL EVERYWHERE, THE PROBLEM IS THAT IF IT ISN'T CAUGHT THE OIL GET ALL OVER THE PLACE AND CAUSES BELTS TO SMOKE BECAUSE THE OIL AND ANTIFREEZE ARE LEAKING FROM THE OIL COOLER. CONSIDERING THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE MOTORS, THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED, SO THE OIL COOLER CAN BE RECALLED, SO DODGE WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM!! IT IS DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF A TRIP AND IT DECIDES TO CRACK WHILE YOU'RE DOING 70 MPH DOWN THE FREEWAY AND ALL THE OIL AND ANTIFREEZE BLOWS OUT THE CAR. AND YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE THE PROBLEM IS UNTIL THE CAR IS STOPPED AND YOU GET IT TOWED HOME, YOU CHECK ALL THE FLUIDS AND REFILL THEM THEN YOU COME OUTSIDE THE NEXT MORNING AND YOU SEE THE BIG LEAK FROM THE OIL ALL ON THE GROUND AND YOU HAVE TO HAVE THEM TEAR THE CAR APART BECAUSE THERE IS OIL ALL OVER THE PLACE UNDER THE HOOD.
PASSENGER SIDE HEAT BLOWS WEAK COLD AIR (DASH, FLOOR, AND DEFROSTER). WINDSHIELD WILL NOT DEFROST. HEATER CORE REPLACED, CLOGGED WITH CASTING SAND FROM MANUFACTURER. TWO WEEKS LATER, NEW CORE CLOGGED. MECHANIC SPENT MOST OF ONE DAY CONTINUOUSLY FLUSHING ENGINE/SYSTEM. SAND STILL FLUSHING OUT AT END OF DAY FROM HEAT/COOLING SYSTEM. CONDITIONS ARE STATIONARY OR MOVING (ANY SPEED) WITH HEATER ON. UNSURE HOW LONG THIS WAS OCCURRING AS I RARELY HAVE A PASSENGER. DRIVER'S SIDE SEEMED TO WORK FINE, SO I DID NOT NOTICE UNTIL ROUTINELY TRANSPORTING PASSENGER AND GOT WORSE TO THE POINT IT WAS DIFFICULT SEEING OUT OF WINDSHIELD.
AFTER PURCHASING MY VEHICLE I TOOK IT FOR A SHORT DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY. I WAS SPEEDING UP TO 35-40 MPH WHEN THE CAR STALLED. THE CAR STARTED AND I DECIDED THAT I BETTER TAKE IT HOME. I STARTED THE CAR, TURNED AROUND ON THE HIGHWAY AND WHILE I WAS DRIVING, IT STALLED AGAIN. IT STALLED SEVERAL MORE TIMES ON THE WAY HOME, I WAS NEVER ABLE TO DRIVE MORE THAN 45MPH BEFORE IT WOULD STA... SEVERAL DAYS LATER I DECIDED TO TRY TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. IT MADE IT TWO MILES OUT OF TOWN (GOING 65MPH) BEFORE IT STARTED STALLING AGAIN. IT TOOK ME OVER AN HOUR TO MAKE IT HOME BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD START, DRIVE FOR ABOUT 3 FEET AND STALL AGAIN. THE NEXT DAY THE DEALER I PURCHASED IT FROM TOWED IT TO THEIR SHOP AND THEY "RESET" THE COMPUTER. IT DROVE FINE FOR TWO DAYS BEFORE STALLING AGAIN WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET GOING 45MPH. I HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR SEVERAL MINUTES LATER AND DRIVE IT THE LAST 1/4 OF A MILE TO WORK. NOW I AM AT WORK WONDERING IF I WILL MAKE IT SAFELY HOME. I LIVE AN HOUR FROM WORK.
WITH LESS THAN 77,000 MILES ON MY 2011 DODGE AVENGER THE HEATING SYSTEM QUIT WORKING,I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD COST 2,000 TO 3,000 DOLLARS TO FIX. I ALSO BEEN TOLD FROM PAST DODGE MECHANICS THAT DODGE HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM FOR 10 TO 15 YEARS AND FAIL TO RECALL THE CARS AFFECTED. I CURRENTLY HAVE NO HEAT ON EITHER SIDE OF THE CAR,AFTER SEEING HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE THIS OBVIOUSLY HAS TO BE A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BY DODGE.
THE HEATER BLOWS COLD AIR IN THE PASSENGER AREA OF THE CAR AND WARM AIR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE CAR NEVER WARMS UP ENOUGH TO DEFROST THE WINDOWS IN WINTER. THE CAUSE IS SAND AND METAL SHAVINGS LEFT IN THE ENGINE BLOCK DURING MANUFACTURING OF THE ENGINE. THE SAND AND METAL SHAVINGS MAKE THEIR WAY INTO THE HEATER CORE AND RADIATOR BY ABOUT 50000.00 MILES OR SO. THIS IS THE CAUSE OF THE HEATING ISSUE BECAUSE THE BOTTOM OF THE HEATER CORE PLUGS AND THE RADIATOR ALSO TO AN EXTENT. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BY DODGE FOR SURE. PLEASE HELP US FROM THE HIGH COST OF THE DEALERS 1300.00 CHARGE TO CHANGE THE HEATER CORE AND OR RADIATOR. FROM A DISCONTENT DODGE OWNER
HEAT ONLY BLOWS HOT ON DRIVERS SIDE - PASSENGER SIDE BLOWS COLD AIR. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP 01/18 THEY REPLACED THE HEATER CORE AND FLUSHED THE SYSTEM. 11/18 DOING THE EXACT SAME THING. ALREADY COST $1200, TOLD THAT IT IS THE COOLANT AND THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE HEATER CORE UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE IT IS CLOGGED. IF IT IS THE COOLANT THEY PUT IN WOULDN'T THAT STILL BE COVERED? THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR THE DEFROSTER ON THAT SIDE ALSO ONLY BLOWS COLD AIR!
THE HEATER IN MY CAR IS ONLY BLOWING HEAT ON THE DRIVER SIDE THE PASSENGER SIDE IS BLOWING COLD AIR. BEING FROM MAINE THIS CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE IN THE WINTER WHEN THE WEATHER IS INCLEMENT AS IT DOES NOT DEFROST PROPERLY AS IT SHOULD. I WAS QUOTED $2100 4 HEATER CORE AND RADIATOR REPLACEMENT . WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE I HAVE SEEN I WOULD THINK THAT CHRYSLER DODGE WITH TAKE RESPONSIBILITY DO THE RIGHT THING AND FIX THIS ISSUE WITHOUT CHARGING THE CONSUMER.
WHILE ON THE FREEWAY, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND RIGHT AWAY MY CAR STALLED WHILE IN MOTION GOING ABOUT 70MPH. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SHOULDER AND TURNED OFF MY CAR THEN TURNED IT BACK ON AND WAS ABLE TO GET SAFELY HOME. WHEN I WENT DOWN THE STREET TO CHECK TO SEE IF IT WORKED, IT STALLED ON ME AGAIN.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE AUTOBAHN AT ABOUT 45 MPH WHEN THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING AND THE CAR LOST ALL POWER. I HAD TO LET THE CAR ROLL TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET TO AVOID GETTING HIT BY OTHER VEHICLES AND THERE I TRIED TO START THE CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START. THE CAR HAD SHUT OFF BEFORE WITHOUT ANY WARNING, BUT IT STARTED BACK UP WITHOUT ANY ISSUES. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A MECHANICAL SHOP AND THEY HOOKED IT UP TO A DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER WITH THE CODE FOR CAMSHAFT SENSOR. WE REPLACED THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR AND STILL NO LUCK. TOOK IT TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WE DID NOT REPLACE THE ENGINE BECAUSE IT WOULD COST $8000. THE CAR STILL ONLY CRANKS, BUT DOES NOT START AND THE ETC LIGHT IS STILL ON.
FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS I ONLY GET HEAT ON MY DRIVER SIDE. PASSENGER SIDE BLOWS COLD AIR. I HEARD IT COULD BE RELATED TO A DEFECT DURING MANUFACTURING PROCESS DODGE WHERE METAL CASING ARE LEFT IN THE ENGINE BLOCK CAUSING THE CORE TO GET CLOGGED AND THAT IS WHY I HAVE THE PROBLEM.

WHILE DRIVING TO WORK TODAY I LOST ALL POWER AND NOTICED A RED LIGHTING BOLT ON THE DASH. I WOULD TRY TO ACCELERATE BUT COULD NOT GOING MORE THEN 1600 RPM'S. I PULLED OVER AND KILLED THE ENGINE. WHEN I STARTED IT I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE FOR ABOUT 1 MINUTE AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME AND LATER FOUND OUT THE LIGHTING BOLT WAS THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL THROTTLE BODY. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY WANT $550 TO INSTALL IT OR $330 FOR A NEW PART. READING FORUMS I SEEN THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS ISSUE AND NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE THROTTLE BODY BECAUSE THERE ARE LITTLE PLASTIC GEARS THAT GET STRIPPED. I FOUND A PLACE ON LINE FOR $180 AND WILL REPLACE IT BUT I THINK IT IS DISAPPOINTING THAT I AM REPLACING THIS PART WHEN I ONLY HAVE 60K MILES ON IT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING TO A PARKING LOT AROUND A TURNABOUT AND AS I APPROACHED THE ENTRANCE FOR THE PARKING LOT, THE STEERING BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, ALMOST CAUSING THE CAR TO MISS THE ENTRANCE AND FOR ME TO VEER OF THE ROAD. I LOOKED AT THE TACHOMETER AND NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE HAD COMPLETELY TURNED OFF. THIS WAS ABOUT THE THIRD OCCURRENCE. THE PREVIOUS TWO TIMES THE CAR HAD STALLED AT AN INTERSECTION'S RED LIGHT AND DIDN'T NOTICE UNTIL THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. WHEN I DEPRESSED THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. AGAIN, I WOULD LOOK AT THE TACHOMETER, AND THE ENGINE STALLED. I WISH TO HAVE ON THE RECORD THAT TODAY, 9/22/14 AT APPROXIMATELY 11:30AM, I CONTACTED [XXX] OF PALM AUTO MALL IN PUNTA GORDA, FL TO VOICE MY CONCERNS ABOUT A RECALL I READ IN THE LOCAL NEWS ABOUT A FUEL PUMP RECALL FOR JEEP CHEROKEES WITH A 3.6L V6 AND WAS GIVEN THE RUNAROUND. MY CAR HAS THE EXACT SAME ENGINE, AND MADE DURING THAT RECALL'S DATE! THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE I DESCRIBED THIS EXACT PROBLEM WHEN MY CAR WAS SERVICED 9/16-9/17/14. I WAS TOLD TODAY THAT SINCE MY CAR IS NOT INVOLVED WITH THE JEEP RECALL, THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING.
