MY CAR JUST STARTED DOING THIS. WITH THE HEAT ON, THE DRIVER SIDE BLOWS HOT AIR, PASSENGER SIDE IS COOL AIR. TOOK IT TO DODGE TODAY, THEY ARE SAYING MY COOLANT IS SLUDGY AND THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR, HEATING CORE, OIL FILTER HOUSING, AND FLUSH. FOR ALMOST $2900.
ACTIVE HEAD REST DEPLOYED WITHOUT BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. THE PLASTIC THAT HOLDS THE RETAINING PIN BROKE CAUSING THE HEAD REST TO DEPLOY
HEATER NOT WORKS PROPERLY. IT DOES NOT BLOW HOT AIR.
THE HEATER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE STOPPED BLOWING WARM AIR WHEN THE CAR IS EITHER IDLING OR ON THE FREEWAY. EVEN WITH PUTTING IT FULL BLAST THERE'S NOT HEAT COMING OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE, JUST THE DRIVERS SIDE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE AVENGER. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR MALFUNCTIONED. THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE ORIGINAL CRANK SHAFT SENSOR WAS INSTALLED BACK IN THE VEHICLE AND THE MECHANIC ATTEMPTED TO RESET THE SENSOR BY DRIVING TO 70 MPH AND IDLING DOWN. THIS PROCESS WAS ATTEMPTED THREE TIMES, BUT IT STILL DID NOT WORK AND THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD OPERATE AS LONG AS IT DID NOT REACH 70 MPH. THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH BREWBAKER DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM FIAT OF MONTGOMERY (300 EASTERN BLVD, MONTGOMERY, AL 36117, (334) 279-0174) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR AIRBAG RECALLS HOWEVER THE LIGHT STAYS ON CONSTANTLY. NOT LONG AFTER BUYING THE VEHICLE, I WOULD PUT USE THE TURN SIGNAL AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD COME ON, THEY STILL DO FROM TIME TO TIME. I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE AT THE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. ALSO, FROM TIME TO TIME, THE AIR CONDITIONER BUTTON WILL NOT WORK. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT TO WORK IS TO RAPIDLY TURN THE KNOB FROM SIDE TO SIDE. IT HAS SOMETIMES TAKEN UP TO 5 MINUTES TO GET IT TO WORK.
HEATER CORE CLOGGED, CAUSING WINDOWS TO FOG UP IN COLD CONDITIONS, EVENTUALLY LEADING TO HEATER CORE AND COOLANT SYSTEM FAILURE DUE TO OVERPRESSURE, RESULTING IN ENGINE OVERHEATING.
NO HEAT OR DEFROSTER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE
AIR BAG LIGHT WAS COMING ON AND OFF FOR DRIVERS HEAD REST AIR BAG WAS TAKEN IN FOR THAT RECALL NOW SAME PROBLEM IS HAPPENING AGAIN ALSO HAVE THAT AWESOME DODGE DEFECT WERE THE HEATER BLOWS HOT ON DRIVERS SIDE AND ICE ICE COLD ON PASSENGER SIDE THESE ARE PRETTY MAJOR DEFECTS WITCH DODGE HAS KNOWN ABOUT AND SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE LIGHTS START FLICKERING AND THEN THE DASH BOARD LIGHTS START GOING DIM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE AVENGER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE, TURN SIGNALS, HEADLAMPS, AND PARKING LIGHTS FAILED TO OPERATE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO OURISMAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (12430 AUTO DR, CLARKSVILLE, MD 21029, (410) 988-8100) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIPM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 58562756. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
I BOUGHT 4 NEW GOODYEAR EAGLE LS2 225/35R17 TIRES ON AUGUST 08/2018 AT A LOCAL GOODYEAR STORE. ON 05/05/2019 MY GRANDDAUGHTER WITH HER ONE YEAR OLD BABY IN THE BACK CAR SEAT. WERE APPROACHING THE FREEWAY, WHILE STILL ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP THE FRONT TIRE TOTALLY BLEW OUT AND DISINTEGRATED. THERE WAS LESS THAN 10% OF TIRE LEFT ON THE WHEEL. SHE PULLED OFF ONTO THE GRASS AND WAITED FOR ASSISTANCE FROM THE HIGHWAY PATROL. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE AT ALL TO THE ALUMINUM RIMS, AS SHE DIDN'T DRIVE ANY FARTHER. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BLOWOUT DISINTEGRATE MORE THAN NINETY PERCENT OF THE TIRE. I AM NOT AN EXPERT, BUT THIS SURE LOOKS LIKE A DEFECT IN THE TIRE ITSELF. ONCE AGAIN ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGE TO MY ALUMINUM RIM.
CADILLAC CONVERTER RECALL- WHEN THE CADILLAC CONVERTER WENT OUT THE CAR MADE A HORRIBLE NOISE AND LOST POWER TO ACCELERATE. COME TO FIND OUT THE PRESSURE BLEW BACK AND POPPED HOSES OF AND BROKE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. THE FLAP CANT OPEN AND CLOSE. CHRYSLER SAID THAT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD WAS NOT DUE TO THE CADILLAC CONVERTER BUT TEO AUTO MACANICA SAID IT WAS. THIS IS A $700 REPAIR DUE TO A RECALL! HAD BEEN DRIVING CAR AROUND TOWN ALL DAY. STOPPED TO TURN AND LOUD NOISE HAPPENED. LUCKLY COASTED TO BLOCKS TO HOUSE AND HAD TOW TRUCK TAKE TO REPAIR SHOP.
WHEN HEATER ACTIVATED, ONLY DRIVERS SIDE BLOWS HEAT WHILE PASSENGER SIDE BLOWS COLD. VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE DUAL AIR CONTROLS. CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WINDSHIELD ONLY DEFROSTS ONE SIDE AND OTHER SIDE FOGS UP.
DRIVING CAR CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF ROAD AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON THAT IS NOT GOOD AND I THINK IT IS NOT SAFE
MY CAR KEEPS BLOWING ROAD DUST OUT OF ALL THE VENTS WHEN I'M DRIVING DOWN A GRAVEL ROAD DOESN'T MATTER THE SPEED AND IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE HEATER AND A/C ARE ON OR OFF. WHEN I TURN ON MY HEATER/A/C IT RUNS THROUGH THE DEFROST, FACE VENTS, AND FLOORS VENTS, BEFORE IT WILL FINALLY SETTLE ON THE AREA I HAVE IT SET AT. DODGE REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THERE'S A PROBLEM AND REFUSES TO A RECALL. THEY KNOW IT STEMS FROM THE HEATER CORE NOT BEING PROPERLY CLEANED BEFORE INSTALLING IT IN THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE AVENGER. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED TO 10 MPH AND LOST POWER. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE JERKED, SKID, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED, AND THE TRACTION CONTROL AND THROTTLE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE BRAKES, SWAY BAR, AND BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LUTHER BROOKDALE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (8188 BROOKLYN BLVD, BROOKLYN PARK, MN 55445, (612) 326-3931), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A VOICE MESSAGE WAS LEFT, BUT THEY FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.
HEATER DEFROST OR AIR-CONDITIONING. DOESN'T DEFROST THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW.
THERE IS NO HEAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BUT THERE IS HEAT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THERE SEEMS TO BE A MECHANICAL DEFECT WITH THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE STALLED ON A HILL IN PARK AND STARTED TO ROLL DOWN THE HILL AND THE BRAKE AND EVERYTHING STOPPED WORKING AT THAT MOMENT IN THE CAR. I ALSO HAD ANOTHER INCIDENT WITH THE CAR STALLING WHILE DRIVING AND DUE TO THIS IT CAUSED ANOTHER ACCIDENT. THE CAR IS ALSO WELL KEPT, BUT IT SEEMS TO HAVE A MECHANICAL DEFECT
THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON AND VEHICLE LOSES POWER...COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
MY VEHICLE ONLY BLOWS HOT AIR ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE AMONG MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME VEHICLE. WE TRIED TO FLUSH THE HEATER CORE AND IT DID NOTHING.
THE PASSENGER SIDE ONLY BLOWS COLD AIR WHEN THE HEAT/DEFROST IS ON. THIS CAUSES MY PASSENGER WINDOW TO NOT DEFROST. THIS HAPPENS NO MATTER IF THE CAR IS AT IDLE OR WHILE DRIVING. THE PASSENGER SIDE WILL ONLY BLOW COLD AIR. THE DRIVER SIDE HEAT/DEFROST WORKS FINE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT'S ANYTHING FROM AN ACTUATOR TO THE HEATER CORE. I LIVE IN A STATE WHERE WE HAVE COLD WINTERS AND FREQUENT SNOW. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT IMPAIRS MY ABILITY TO SEE MY PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR, ETC.
TOLD HEATER CORE WAS BAD AT 57,000 MILES BY DEALERSHIP DUE TO NO HEAT ON PASSENGER SIDE BUT HEAT ON DRIVER'S SIDE AND IS A KNOWN MANUFACTURE DEFECT IN THIS CAR. CAR IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED.
DODGE LEFT RESIDUAL MACHINING DEBRIS IN THE AVENGER ENGINE BLOCKS THAT FLOWS WITH COOLANT INTO THE HEATER CORE AND RADIATOR CAUSING THE HEATER CORE TO CLOG UP AND BLOCKS HEAT TO PASSENGER SIDE IN THE WINTER CAUSING UNSAFE OR UNFIT TO OPERATE IN COLD WEATHER. I'VE HAD MY AVENGER IN DODGE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY CONFIRM MY HEATER CORE IS BLOCKED. IT COSTS OVER 2K TO FIX THIS ISSUE CAUSED BY DEFECTIVE OR LACK OF DODGE FACTORY ENGINE INSPECTIONS. I'VE SPOKEN TO FCA THE DODGE PARENT COMPANY AND THEIR ANSWER IS WE SHOULD'VE HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH I'M WITHIN THE MILEAGE FOR THE FACTORY WARRANTY BUT OUT OF AMOUNT OF YEARS COVERAGE . MY AVENGER HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM AN OUTSIDE SOURCE BUT THAT COMPANY WILL NOT COVER DODGE CREATED MALFUNCTIONS. THE ATTACHED INFO SHOWS MY AVENGER AT THE DODGE DEALERSHIP ON 03-06-2019. I ALSO HAD IT SERVICED IN WICHITA AT PR AUTOGLASS AND AUTO SERVICES JUST PRIOR TO BRINGING IT TO DODGE DEALERSHIP. PR AUTOGLASS AND SERVICES STATED IT IS THE HEATER CORE AND THAT THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE FLUSHED OUT AS IT HAS ACCUMULATED IN THE HEATER CORE BLOCKING IT FROM BEING PROFESSIONALLY FLUSHED. THE RESIDUE WAS ALSO EVIDENT IN THE RADIATOR BUT FLUSHING DID REMOVE THAT THE BEST WE CAN TELL. DODGE HAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH HAVING LEFT THIS DEBRIS IN THE ENGINE BLOCKS DURING THE MACHINING PROCESSES ON AVENGERS.
I WAS ON A HILL ABOUT TO TURN ONTO THE FREEWAY WHEN MY VEHICLE TURNED OFF/STALLED. I WAS MOVING ABOUT 10 MILES PER HOUR AND WHEN I WENT TO TURN RIGHT I FOUND IT DIFFICULT TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL, AT WHICH POINT I REALIZED MY VEHICLE HAD STALLED. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE WITHIN THE LAST YEAR.
MY COOLING SYSTEM IS CONTAMINATED BY INFERIOR PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED WITHIN MY DODGE AVENGER. MATERIAL/S WITHIN THE COOLING SYSTEM FAIL AND CAUSE DEBRIS TO BUILD UP WITHIN THE ENTIRE COOLING SYSTEM. THIS MATERIAL/S IS A SANDY LIKE SUBSTANCE THAT BLOCKS CRITICAL COOLING AND HEATING COMPONENTS THAT HAS LEAD TO MAJOR FAILURES OF MY HEATING SYSTEM VIA THE DEBRIS BLOCKING THE HEATER CORE FROM FUNCTIONING. I CERTAIN THAT THIS DEBRIS IS ALSO AFFECTING MY ENGINE'S COOLING FUNCTION.
MY CAR ONE DAY JUST STARTED BLOWING COLD AIR WHEN MY HEATER IS ON. I TALKED TO THE DEALER SHIP AND SAID IT WAS A ACTUATOR THAT HAD GONE OUT. I MENTIONED TO THEM ABOUT SEEING ONLINE THAT A SOME OTHER AVENGER OWNERS WHERE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND THAT IT WAS CAUSED BUT SAND AND METAL FLAKES LEFT OVER FROM CASTING FILLING UP THE HEATER CORE AND RADIATOR. AFTER MY SECOND TRIP BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THEM TO LOOK AT IT THEY TOLD ME THAT MY HEATER CORE WAS BURNT UP AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I TOOK IT TO A RADIATOR SHOP AND ASKED FOR A SECOND OPINION AND WAS TOLD THAT AFTER LOOKING INTO THE PROBLEM AND LOOKING AT THE HEATER CORE THAT IT WAS NOT BURNT UP AND THO IT COULD USE A GOOD FLUSHING WAS NOT THE ISSUE.
RECURRING HEATER PROBLEM WHERE THERE IS SOME HEAT ON DRIVER'S SIDE AND NONE ON PASSENGER SIDE. HAD CAR IN 3 TIMES TO FLUSH HEATER CORE TO TEMPORARILY FIX PROBLEM. THIS IS AN APPARENT MANUFACTURER DEFECT THAT CANNOT BE RESOLVED WITH REGULAR MAINTENANCE OR REPAIRS. A NEW HEATER CORE IS THE ONLY SOLUTION AND THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY DODGE SINCE IT IS A KNOWN MANUFACTURER DEFECT WITH THE PLATING IN THE SYSTEM COMING LOOSE AND PLUGGING THE HEATER CORE.
MY 2012 DODGE AVENGER CAUGHT FIRE UNDER THE HOOD WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FWY. I COULD NOT STOP THE CAR BECAUSE THE BRAKE BECAME LOCKED IN PLACE AND I COULDNT PRESS IT DOWN WITH MY FOOT. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE DID NOT WORK. IT WAS UNSAFE TO GET OUT OF THE MOVING CAR, SO I WAS TRAPPED IN THE CAR AS THE FIRE UNDER THE HOOD GREW RAPIDLY. I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF AT THE NEXT EXIT AND WITH QUICK THINKING, I USED THE CURB AT THE END OF THE FWY OFF RAMP TO HELP ME STOP THE CAR. WHEN FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED, THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF MY CAR WAS FULLY ENGULFED. FROM MY UNDERSTANDING, CHRYSLER/DODGE HAS HAD REAPEATED COMPLAINTS REGARDING SIMILAR INCIDENTS.
HEATER CORE IS BLOCKED WITH CASTING SAND FROM ENGINE MANUFACTURING PROCESS MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO INOPERABLE DEFROST OR HEAT. WINDSHIELD ICED OVER WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE A 2012 DODGE AVENGER R/T. LIKE MANY OTHER AVENGERS, THE HEAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY VEHICLE STOPPED WORKING. I GET NOTHING BUT COLD AIR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I'VE DONE MY RESEARCH, AND THIS IS A MANAFACTURER DEFECT THAT RESULTS FROM BAD CASTING THAT CAUSES METAL FLAKES TO BREAK OFF AND FILL UP THE HEATER CORE UNTIL IT BECOMES SO CLOGGED THAT IT STOPS WORKING PROPERLY. A SIMPLE FLUSH WILL NOT DO THE JOB, AND THE HEATER CORE MUST BE REPLACED. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR. I HIGHLY BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, DUE TO THE FACT THAT VISIBILITY IS SEVERELY DECREASED IN WINTER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR. THIS NOT ONLY PUTS THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS IN DANGER, BUT OTHER VEHICES AND PEDESTRIANS AS WELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE AVENGER. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO HEAT THE VEHICLE AND ACTIVATE THE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER, THE CONTACT REALIZED THAT THE FEATURES WERE INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEATER CORE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ALSO, MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE ACTUATOR DOORS. INDEPENDENT DEALER CUT AND OPEN THE DASH AND FOUND HEATER CORE WAS PLUGGED WITH SILICONE AND DUST PARTICALS FROM WHEN FACTORY PUT ENGINE TOGETHER. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *BF *JB
Little to no heat coming from vent on passenger side of cabin. Good hot heat coming from vents on driver side of cabin. Over the last 3 yrs the heater core has been replace 3 times once each year. Hot air came from all vents when replaced but as another comes around, no heat again on passenger side. Good heat on drivers side. Charlies dodge doesn't want to work on it any longer even though there is a valid warranty on the latest heater core replacement. Charlies dodge is claiming something inside the engine is coming apart and clogging the heater core. This makes no sense.
MY HEAT STOPPED WORKING ON HALF OF MY CAR AND I FLUSHED THE HEATER CORE AND REPLACED THE BLEND DOOR ACTUATORS AND IT STILL DOESN'T WORK.

ONE DAY CAR CUT OFF AS SOON AS I GOT HOME AND IT NEVER CAME ON AGAIN GOT THE ALTERNATOR REPLACE AND BATTERY CHARGED UP AND IT STILL WILL NOT START AND THE MECHANIC CANT FIND THE PROBLEM.
TWO SEPARATE INCIDENTS HAVE HAPPENED. FIRST WAS IN NOVEMBER 2018. I WAS DRIVING HOME ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE VEHICLE FLASHED THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR LIGHT ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE CAR LOST POWER AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 25MPH. BROUGHT TO DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THEY COULDN'T CHECK THE ETC LIGHT DUE TO IT SHUTTING OFF WITH RESTART OF THE VEHICLE BUT WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW ALTERNATOR. FIXED THE ALTERNATOR AND NO PROBLEMS AGAIN UNTIL JANUARY 2019. THIS TIME I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY AND THE CAR FLASHED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND DIED WHILE IN MOTION. POWER STEERING WAS VERY TIGHT BUT I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. AFTER 4 TRIES OF RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, IT STARTED BACK UP BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON. I WILL BE TAKING IT BACK TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP IN HOPES OF FINDING OUT WHAT IS WRONG, BUT AM NERVOUS BECAUSE OF WHAT I HAVE READ AMONGST OTHER AVENGER OWNERS.
2012 AVENGER SE WITH JUST UNDER 100K MILES. THE HEAT IS NOT WORKING. BLOWING COLD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND BARELY HEATING UP ON THE DRIVER SIDE. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ON SEVERAL MESSAGE BOARDS, THIS IS DUE TO A MANUFACTURER ISSUE WITH THE HEATER CORE. I HAVE FLUSHED THE SYSTEM MULTIPLE TIMES AND IT IS NOT GETTING BETTER. THIS ISSUE IS NOT DUE TO NOT MAINTAINING THE CAR. THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT AND I HAVE CALLED DODGE AND WAS NOT GIVEN ANY ASSISTANCE. I FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AS THERE ARE A LOT OF THESE CARS HAVING THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE.
NO HEAT ON PASSENGER SIDE. AFTER DOING RESEARCH FOUND THE ISSUE IS ONE OF TWO THINGS, 1ST HEATER CORE LOCATION CAUSING IT TO PLUG WITH SAND, AND COSTING 100'S OF DOLLARS TO HAVE REPAIRED ONLY TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN AGAIN AND 2ND HEATER BLEND DOOR NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I'VE HAD THE THERMOSTAT REPLACED FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR ONLY A FEW WEEKS. NOW NO HEAT AGAIN ON PASSENGER SIDE.
THE DEFROSTER AND HEATER VENTS ONLY PUT OUT HEAT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLVE. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THE HEATER CORE NEEDED REPLACEMENT FO THIS SAME PROBLEM. COST IS AROUND $1,000 TO DO THE REPAIR. ALL HAVE BEEN REPLACE BY A DODGE DEALER. THE LAST TIME REPAIRED A SERVICE MANAGER SAID IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. POOR DESIGN AND RESPONSE. DODGE CORPORATE IS USELESS ON THIS MATTER.
I HAVE A 2012 DODGE AVENGER V6 WITH ONLY THE DRIVER SIDE HEAT WORKING. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION AS TO WHAT CAUSED IT THERE IS SAND PARTIALS IN THE COOLING SYSTEM FROM THE SAND FORGING OF THE MOTOR AND WHERE THERE WAS NOT PROPER FLUSHING OF THE COOLING SYSTEM BEFORE THE ASSEMBLY OF THE MOTOR. IT IS A CLOSED SYSTEM SO THERE IS NO WAY THAT SAND PARTIALS CAN ENTER THE SYSTEM AND CAUSE THAT ISSUE. DODGE BELIEVES THERE IS NO SAFETY ISSUE WITH IT AND IT IS A "CREATURE COMFORT", BUT WHEN IN FACE THE HEAT DEFROSTS THE WINDOWS TO ENABLE VISIBILITY. WITH NO HEAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE THE PASSENGER SIDE AND SOME OF THE DRIVER SIDE IS UNABLE TO DEFOG, DEFROST, OR MELT ANY ICE OBSTRUCTING THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER. THIS IS NOT A DRIVER ISSUE, THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED.
HEATER CORE FAILURE. NOTICED THE 2012 DODGE AVENGER PASSENGER SIDE WAS NOT BLOWING HOT AIR. INSTEAD THE AIR WAS COMING OUT COLD NO MATTER HOW MUCH THE TEMPERATURE WAS ADJUSTED. EVEN AFTER DRIVING TO DESTINATIONS THE HEAT NEVER WORKED FO THE PASSENGER SIDE. ONLY THE DRIVER'S SIDE HOT AIR WORKS. TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY DID A FLUSH 3 TIMES BECAUSE THEY SAID GUNK CAN SOMETIMES BUILD UP ON THOSE CARS IN PARTICULAR, HOWEVER IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS THE HEATER CORE THAT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE CAR ONLY HAS 63K MILES SO THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT A CAR WITH LOW MILEAGE SHOULD EXPERIENCE.
COLD AIR BLOWING OUT OF PASSENGER SIDE VENTS, WHEN HEAT IS COMING OUT OF DRIVERS SIDE. I HAD THE THERMOSTAT REPLACED, THE RADIATOR FLUSHED, THE HEATER CORE CHECKED. I REPLACED THE HEATER BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR AND THE BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL MODULE AND RESISTER AND STILL HAVE COLD AIR COMING OUT OF THE VENTS.
WHEN HEAT IS ON DRIVER SIDE VENT BLOWS HOT AIR. PASSENGER SIDE AND FRONT WINDOW DEFROST DOES NOT.
IN APRIL 2018 AND AGAIN IN NOVEMBER 2018 MY CAR STALLED, COMPLETELY DIED WHILE I WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON A HILL. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND RESTART THE CAR. THIS WAS ON A HILL, HEADING TO A HIGHWAY ENTRY.
HEATER CORE PER DODGE DEALERSHIP IS STOPPED UP. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE HEAT WOULDN'T GET UP TO A SATISFACTORY TEMPERATURE, THEY TESTED IT & SAID THEY COULD TRY FLUSHING BUT THEY THOUGHT IT NEEDED REPLACING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE AVENGER. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, COLD AIR EMERGED FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE VENT INSIDE THE VEHICLE. ALSO, THERE WAS NO HEAT COMING FROM THE FLOOR VENTS. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FREEDOM CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM BY ED MORSE (815 E CAMP WISDOM RD, DUNCANVILLE, TX 75116, (972) 427-4019) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL COOLER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE RADIATOR WAS CLOGGED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,135.
NO HEAT IN CENTER OR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. WINDOWS WILL NOT DEFROST. ONLY GETTING HEAT ON LEFT WINDOW AND DRIVERS SIDE DEFROST. DOES IT STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING. REPLACED CONTROLS, HEAT PUMP ETC. STILL NOT WORKING.
NO HEAT ON PASSENGER SIDE. AFFECTS DEFROSTING AND CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE.
THERE IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT WITH THE HEATING SYSTEM THAT AIDS IN KEEPING WINDOWS DEFROSTED. EVERY VENT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ONLY BLOWS OUT COLD AIR, WHILE THE DRIVERS SIDE IS WARM. THE WINDSHIELD & ALL WINDOWS IN THE PASSENGER SIDE WILL NOT DEFROST CAUSE EXTREME VISIBILITY ISSUES.
