THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,500.

SHIFTING HAS BECOME A MAJOR ISSUE HAVE TO USE A PEN OR KNIFE TO PUT PRESSURE ON A SWITCH TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. WAS TOLD BY LOCAL DODGE DEALER IT IS A ISSUE WITH THE CHALLENGER BUT NOT THIS MODEL. THEY ARE THE SAME SHIFTER. ALSO THE LIGHT THAT ILLUMINATES THE SHIFTER STARTED TO CATCH FIRE BUT I WAS ABLE REMOVE BEFORE FIRE IGNITED. I SAW THE SMOKE AND SMELLED ELECTRICAL BURNING. LUCKILY THAT STARTED RIGHT BEFORE I WENT TO STRUGGLE AND PUT IN DRIVE. TO EVEN GET IT TO LOSSES UP TO DRIVE YOU ALMOST HAVE TO SLAM THE SHIFTER UP AND DOWN RAPIDLY AND SOMEWHAT ROUGH TO EVEN LOOSEN IT UP TO GIVE A WEEK OR 2 OF IT NOT CAUSING PROBLEMS. WAS TOLD BY LOCAL DEALER NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND IT WOULD BE AROUND 800 TO FIX.
I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT AS OF MARCH, I HAD FRONT DAMAGE HIT PRETTY HARD AT LEAST THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED BUT AFTER I GOT MY CAR BACK IT STARTED CUTTING OFF FOR NO REASON. I TOOK IT BACK TO AUTO SHOP THAT FIXED IT WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON DUE TO REVVING UP BETWEEN THE 3 AND 5 RPM AND BARELY MOVING THE LIGHTEST TOUCH IT WOULD STAY STUCK BETWEEN THOSE EVEN SLOWING DOWN TO LESS 25 MPH AS SOON AS STEP ON THE GAS IT WILL SHOOT RIGHT BACK UP BETWEEN 3 AND 5 RPM AND REV.. I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER TURN MY CAR OFF AND TURN THE KEY REALLY HARD TO TURN ON AND IT WOULD GO BACK REGULAR. MY CAR RANDOMLY CUTS OFF WHEN STOPPED AT LIGHTS OR WHEN COMING TO A STOP. IF I AM IN REVERSE AND START TO BACK UP IT STALLS, JERKS THEN CUTS OFF . THE DEALERSHIP AND AUTO SHOP ARE NOT FINDING ANYTHING "WRONG" WITH IT. UNKNOWN OF WHAT PATICULAR SYSTEM THIS IS I WAS TOLD FUEL LINE BUT I THINK ITS THE ENGINE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THEN GO BACK . IT IS HAPPENING ON AND OFF AND NO ONE WILL LOOK AT IT UNLESS IM PAYING OUT OF POCKET THIS STARTED HAPPENING AROUND 30,000 MILES.
TAKATA RECALL. ALSO I WOULD LIKE THE BRAKES AND OR THE ROTORS BE INVESTIAGATED AS WELL. I HAD TO HAVE THE BRAKES REPAIRED 3X TIMES SINCE 2016 FOR THE SAME REASON WITH IN 3TO 4 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER AND THE ROTOR REPLACED . I SAW THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVE THIS COMPLAINT AS WELL AS THE ROOFING MATERIAL IS COMING OFF AND THE CAR SEEMS TO BE HAVING A SLIGHT ELECTRICAL ISSUE WHERE WE LOSE POWER.

I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND AS I CAME TO A LIGHT MY CAR STARTED TO IDLE REALLY ROUGH LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL THE RPMS WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO ALMOST 200RPM THEN I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND HIT THE GAS A BIT SO IT WOULDN'T STALL AND IT REVVED UP TO 1000 RPM AND THEN SHUT OFF COMPLETELY AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT FLASHED AT ME . THEN I RESTARTED MY CAR AND THERE WERE NO LIGHTS ON . THE CAR WAS IDLEING REALLY ROUGH. I HAVE THE 2.4L I-4. ITS NEVER RAN THAT WAY BEFORE SO I CONTINUED TO DRIVE AND ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES LATER IT DID THE SAME EXACT THING. I AM OUT OF MY BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY SO A DEALER WANTED 100 JUST TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE CAR I WENT TO AUTOZONE TO HAVE THE COMPUTER SCANNED AND HE SAID THEIR WERE NO CODES. HE TOLD ME HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE ISSUES COULD BE EITHER . THIS IS THE 5TH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME . THE OTHER DAY WHEN I WAS BACKING PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY I WENT TO PUT IT IN REVERSE IT WOULDN'T GO INTO REVERSE THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN AS I WAS GIVING IT A LITTLE BIT OF GAS IT SLAMMED INTO REVERSE IT ALMOST FELT LIKE THE TRANSMISSION FELL OUT OF THE CAR. AND IT CHIRPED THE TIRES. THEN AFTER I BACKED OUT MY ENGINE STALLED AND THE ETC LIGHT CAME ON. ( ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL)THEN I ATTEMPTED TO START MY CAR AND IT DROVE FINE LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED.
THE BRAKES SUDDENLY FAILED. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR BY STANDING ON THE BRAKES. I IF I HAD BEEN IN TRAFFIC I WOULD HAVE CRASHED. THE ENGINE WAS SHAKING VERY HARD AND IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE TO GET IT OFF THE ROAD. TWO LIGHTS CAME ON. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL AND THE ONE THAT SHOWS A PICTURE OF A CAR ON A SLIPPERY ROAD. THE NEXT DAY THE LIGHTS WERE OFF AND IT BEHAVED NORMALLY. THEN IT REOCCURRED. I AM TAKING IT TO A DEALER BUT SUDDEN LOSS OF BRAKING IS UNACCEPTABLE AND FROM WHAT I READ ON THE INTERNET A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE.

THE FRONT PASSENGER DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES, BUT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE CRASH SCENE TO AN AUTO BODY REPAIR CENTER WHERE THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE BASED ON THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.

I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. MY CAR HAD 21000 MILES. SOMEONE RAN A LIGHT THROUGH AN EMERGANCY LANE THE FRONT OF OUR VEHICLES COLLIDED. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, MY ENGINE ENDED UP ON THE GROUND AS WELL AS MY RADIATOR. IT WAS A TOTAL LOSS. SHOULDN'T THERE HAVE BEEN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED?
I HAVE A 2014 DODGE AVENGER AND ON OCTOBER 17 I FUELED AT THE STATION AND PROCEEDED TO TRAVEL ON MY WAY HOME. WHEN I STOPPED AT THE LIGHT MY SON AND HIS FRIEND WERE TALKING. THE LIGHT CHANGED AND I TRIED TO GO THE CAR WOULDN'T GO. IT HAD SHUT ITSELF OFF. PRIOR TO THIS MY SON AND I WERE GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND WE COULD HERE A SCREECHING WHISTLING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR. LATER THAT DAY THE RADIO CHANGED STATIONS BY ITSELF. THE CHANGING OF THE STATION HAPPENED AGAIN ON OCTOBER 18 WITH ME AND MY WIFE IN THE CAR. THIS PROMPTED ME TO LOOK INTO THE RECALL FACTOR AND I FOUND MORE COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME TYPE. IF THERE IS A PROBLEM SOMEONE NEEDS TO ADDRESS IT NOW BEFORE THERE IS AN ACCIDENT AND SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT OR DIES. MY SITUATION COULD HAVE BEEN BAD BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE EXPECTING MY CAR TO START MOVING AND I HAD NO IDEA IT WOULDN'T, AND I WAS ON AN UPHILL INCLINE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THESE PROBLEMS AND GET SOME INFO OUT TO THE PUBLIC.
THE TIRE SEPARATED AND EXPLODED, THIS IS A FAIRLY NEW CAR, I COULD OF HAD AN ACCIDENT. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED RIGHT AWAY.
I GOT MY FRONT BREAKS DONE WITH AFTERMARKET BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WEIRD GRINDING SQUEALING SOUND THE PLACE TOLD ME IT WAS MY TRANSMISSION PROBABLY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC, AND THEY SAID IT WAS AFTER MARKET PARTS CAUSING THE NOISE AND RECOMMENDED THAT I GET FACTORY PARTS PUT ON THE CAR. I WENT BACK TO JIFFY LUBE, THE ORIGINAL PEOPLE WHO PLACED THE AFTERMARKET PARTS ON AND WHEN THEY REPLACED EVERYTHIN WITH FACTORY PARTS, THE NOISE STILL OCCURED. I TOOK IT BACK TO DODGE, INFORMING THEM THAT THEIR DIAGNOSTIC THAT WAS RECOMMENDED WAS HANDLED AND THE NOISE STILL OCCURS. THEY, CAME BACK WITH THE SAME ANSWER "YOUR FRONT BRAKES". HOW IS IT THAT YOU DIAGNOSE MY CAR AND TELL ME IT'S ONE THING, AND WHEN I GET THAT ONE THING FIXED, IT'S STILL THE SAME ISSUE? AT THIS POINT, I AM CONVINCED IT'S NOT JIFFY LUBE, BUT DODGE NOT DOING PROPER DIAGNOSTICS BECAUSE I ALSO COMPLAINED ABOUT MY CAR JUMPING WHEN I BREAK AND IT TAKES LONG TO SHIFT INTO GEAR. THEY DIDN'T EVEN DIAGNOSE THAT AND WHEN I COMPLAINED, THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE WITH MY TRANSMISSION. I OWN A 2014 DODGE AVENGER AND I GOT IT FROM FOLSOM LAKE DODGE.
HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HEATING THE CAR WARM ON DRIVER-SIDE, COLD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I WAS TOLD TO REPLACE THE HEATER COIL BY THE DEALERSHIP. IF IT THE HEATER COIL WHY IS IT HEATING ON ONE SIDE?
I WAS TRYING TO REVERSE AFTER MAKING A U-TURN ON A BUSINESS AVENUE IN QUEENS, NY AND AFTER TURNING AROUND, I PUT THE CAR IN RESERVE TO GO BACK A LITTLE BIT TO COMPLETE MY U-TURN, AND MY CAR WOULD NOT REVERSE, INSTEAD MOVES FORWARD, EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS PUT INTO REVERSE POSITION. I TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND TURN IT BACK ON, PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, AND IT CONTINUES TO DO THE SAME THING. SOMEONE HELP ME PUSH IT BACK WHILE IN NEUTRAL AND I THEN PUT IT IN DRIVE AND IT WAS OK AFTER THAT. MY CHILDREN WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME AND THIS HAPPENED ON A BUSY AVE. IT IS THE AIRBAGS BUT I'M NOT SURE IF IT'S CONSIDERED THE TAKATA RECALL. BUT I'VE RECEIVED TWO TO THREE DIFFERENT LETTERS ABOUT THE RECALL AND I'VE GONE TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES. EVERYTIME THEY SAY THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX AND NOW THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS GOING ON AND OFF. I CALLED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ONE OF THE TWO RECALLS AND NOT THEY ARE SAYING THERE IS NO RECORD OF A RECALL FOR MY CAR.
THERE HAS BEEN A LOUD WHISTLING/SQUEALING NOISE COMING FROM THE LEFT FRONT END OF THE CAR SINCE 1/5/15 AND HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO BE REPAIRED. ALSO I WAS DRIVING AND IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN INTO A PARKING LOT MY CAR SHUT ITSELF OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TURN. AN ACCIDENT ALMOST OCCURRED BECAUSE OF THIS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE PADS WERE FAULTY. THE BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EMITTED HOT AIR FROM THE DRIVER SIDE UNDERNEATH THE DASHBOARD. THE HOT AIR INTENSIFIED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH. WHILE I WAS DRIVING, THE HOOD OF MY CAR BECAME UNLATCHED AND INVERTED ONTO MY WINDSHIELD AND WARPING TO MY WINDSHIELD, AND DENTING THE ROOF OF MY CAR. THESE CAUSE THE HINGES, ROOF, HOOD AND LATCHES TO BE REPLACED. NEARLY 4000$ IN DAMAGE.

I WAS HIT BY ANOTHER CAR THAT RAN A STOP SIGN AND NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE ACCIDENT RESULTED IN A TOTAL LOSS DUE TO THE HARD HIT. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON NOW FOR OVER A 1 YEAR. MY CAR ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF FOR NO REASON. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN HAD IT TOWED IN AND MULTI DODGE DEALERSHIP MECHANICS LOOKS AT IT. NOBODY CAN FIGURE OUT WHY IT DOES IT. THEY HAVE DUPLICATED THE PROBLEM LOTS OF TIMES BUT DON'T KNOW WHY IT HAPPENS. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED, BUT THE CONTACT HAD A FIRE INSPECTION REPORT OF THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V043000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND REPAIRS. WITH ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) ON THE 2014 AVENGER R/T SELF STEERS UNDER HEAVY ACCELERATION, WHEN LANE-CHANGING, AND WHEN TURNING LEFT ONTO HIGHWAYS. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE CAR IS ALL OVER THE ROAD. DODGE PROVIDES AN ESC OFF SWITCH. WITH ESC OFF THE CAR IS STABLE AND SAFE. THE DEALER IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT SAYS THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PERMANENTLY DISABLE THE ESC. THEIR ADVICE IS TO PRESS THE ESC OFF SWITCH EACH TIME THE CAR IS STARTED. *TR
