ON NOVEMBER 3RD MY CAR OVER HEATED. I HAVE TO GET IT TOWED AWAY TO THE DEALERSHIP. SAME DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT MY CAR FROM. AFTER THEY DIAGNOSED MY CAR THEY SAID THE HOSE BROKE AND OVER HEATING MELTED MY SENSORS. THEY ASKED ME $773.55 FOR REPAIRING. ON GOOD FAITH I TOOK MY CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP. JUST AFTER 2 WEEKS, A DAY BEFORE THANKS GIVING MY CAR OVER HEATED AGAIN. AGAIN I HAVE TO GET IT TOWED AWAY AGAIN TO THE DEALER SHIP. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR MORE THAN 12 DAYS. AT FIRST THEY ARE SAYING THAT MY GAS KIT BLEW AND THEN LATER THEY SAID THEY HAVE TO REPLACE MY ENGINE. MY CONCERN HERE IS THAT WHY WAS IT NOT DONE ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT. I BORROWED MONEY AGAINST MY 401K PLAN AND I CANT TAKE ANOTHER LOAN TO GET IT FIXED. MY WIFE IS STAGE 3 CANCER PATIENT. WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY. I BELIEVE RENTON CAR PROS DODGE AND CHRYSLER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. THEY SHOULD HAVE FIXED IT ON THE VERY FIRST TIME. THEY ACTUALLY SOLD ME A DEFECTIVE CAR. WHICH CAR REALLY BREAKS DOWN WITHIN 4 YEARS.

ISSUES OVER THE YEARS SINCE PURCHASING INCLUDE HAPPENED MANY TIMES: DUMMY LIGHTS FLASHING ON/OFF AT THEIR PLEASURE, CLOCK ALWAYS BEING OFF TIME AND HAVING TO BE RESET EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS, RANDOM ACCELERATIONS NOT PROVOKED BY DRIVING OR INCLINE WHILE ON CRUISE AND OFF, WARNING LIGHTS COME ON WHILE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING YET RPM IS CORRECT, AND CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING

THE CONTACT PUSHED THE PADDING BACK, BUT IT DID NOT LATCH BACK TO THE FRAME. THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER (JT'S JEEP, DODGE, AND CHRYSLER IN LEXINGTON, SC: 803-220-3725). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. ALSO, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V668000 (SEAT BELTS, AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 25,200. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I KEEP GETTING NOTIFICATIONS IN THE MAIL THAT MY PART IS READY, AND AM BEING TOLD TO CONTACT MY DEALERSHIP. I PHYSICALLY WENT DOWN TO THE DEALERSHIP PER MY APPOINTMENT AND THEY CLAIMED NO PART OR SOFTWARE WAS AVAILABLE TO FIX IT.
TAKATA RECALL. WHILE I'M TOLD MY AIRBAG IS TAKATA I'M NOW TOLD IT IS "S61". IN ANY CASE, TODAY MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING LOCALLY IN TOWN AND HIGHWAY; ON AND OFF INFREQUENTLY. I CALLED DODGE AND SPOKE TO A "GLENN" WHO GAVE ME CASE # 32033318 FOR THE AIRBAG. HOWEVER, HE SAID THE "AIRBAG LIGHT" IS A SEPARATE ISSUE, CASE # 32033352. HE CALLED A LOCAL DEALER "FIELDS DODGE IN SANFORD, FL" AFTER TELLING ME DODGE WILL SET UP A DIAGNOSIS AT NO CHARGE, AND PUT ME ON LINE WITH "TOM" AT "FIELDS DODGE." HE SAID THERE WOULD BE A $89.95 DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE PLUS WHATEVER THEY FIND. I TOLD HIM WHAT "GLENN" TOLD ME AND HE TOLD ME "GLENN" WAS ONLY A CALL CENTER EMPLOYEE AND WAS MISTAKEN. I TOLD "TOM" I WOULD CALL DODGE BACK. I CALLED AND SPOKE TO A "QUARNEKA" THIS TIME WHO REVIEWED THE NOTES AND COULD NOT FIND "GLENN" TELLING ME NO CHARGE FOR THE DIAGNOSIS TO ME. I ASKED "GLENN", "QUARNEKA" AND "TOM" WHAT THE RISK IS OF DRIVING WITH THE LIGHT ON AND NONE HAD AN ANSWER. MY QUESTION TO ALL, UNANSWERED, IS THAT "ISN'T IT STRANGE MY 2014 DODGE AVENGER HAS A KNOWN AIRBAG ISSUE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON FOR THE FIRST TIME AND THERE IS NO RELATION? WHAT A DODGE AND DEALER RIPOFF. WE JUST MADE A 4,000 ROAD TRIP FROM FLORIDA TO NEW ENGLAND AND BACK WITH NO ISSUES.
TAKATA RECALL, THIS HAS BEEN ON RECALL SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 2016, WITH NO REMEDY! THIS IS IMPORTANT IF AND WHEN THERE IS AN ACCIDENT.
TAKATA RECALL. SEAT BELTS WILL NOT CLICK AND COME UNDONE RANDOMLY. MY CAR WENT LIMP AND WOULD NOT DRIVE OVER 10 MILES PER HOUR DUE TO MECHANICAL FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. ALSO THE CAR SHUT OFF ANOTHER DAY WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY IN MOTION. CAR NEEDED TO BE TOWED TO VIP. SUSPENSION SYSTEM REQUIRED REPLACEMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE AVENGER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AS HAVING A FAULTY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY CONTROL SYSTEM. APEX AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES (LOCATED AT 1131 SOUTH HARRISON RD, STONE MOUNTAIN, GA 30088) REPAIRED THE VEHICLE BY REPLACING THE THROTTLE BODY. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE VEHICLE SHOOK WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 30 MPH. IN ADDITION, THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY WARNING INDICATOR DISPLAYED AFTER THE INITIAL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL OR WARRANTY COVERAGE AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

THE CONTACT CALLED THE MC KAYS DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP AND RAM DEALER WHO INFORMED THEM THAT THE REMEDY WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED ANY FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE.
6.1.17 AT ROUGHLY 7:50AM, MY 2014 DODGE AVENGER LX WITH RALLYE PACKAGE COMPLETELY SHUTOFF WHILE DOING HIGHWAY SPEEDS - 70MPH CRUISE, FLAT LAND. POWER STEERING WAS GONE AND THANKFULLY NO OTHER CARS WERE ON THE ROAD. I PLACED THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED TO CONTINUE ON MY WAY TO WORK. OVER THE PAST YEAR, WE'VE EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS ISSUES SUCH AS: RANDOM ACCELERATIONS WITHOUT CAUSE, DUMMY LIGHTS FLASHING OR COMING ON AND THEN DISAPPEARING ON THEIR OWN, ACCELERATION ISSUES WHERE CAR WILL NOT GO OVER 40, ETC. ISSUES HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO BE REPLICATED AND HAS NOT BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THAT PURPOSE AS I HAD A FRIEND EXPERIENCE THE SAME AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD HER THEY COULDN'T RECREATE SO THERE WAS NO ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP AND HAVE AN APPOINTMENT FOR 6.5.17, AND I HAVE ALSO CONTACTED CHRYSLER REGARDING THE ISSUE SO THEY CAN GET A CASE MANAGER ASSIGNED. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING MYSELF OR MY CHILDREN IN THIS VEHICLE, AS I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL HAVE EXPERIENCED THE ISSUE WITHOUT REMEDY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 DODGE AVENGER. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND PASSENGER DOOR WERE DAMAGED. ALL THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NO WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE COLLISION. AFTER THE CRASH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BODY, LOWER BACK, AND WHIPLASH. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED LOWER BACK, RIGHT KNEE, AND SHOULDER INJURIES. THE PASSENGER IN THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SEAT SUSTAINED LEG AND BACK INJURIES. NO ONE RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CHEVROLET CADILLAC OF SANTA FE (4450 CERRILLOS RD, SANTA FE, NM 87507 (505) 471-3700), BUT WAS NOT INSPECTED FOR THE AIR BAG FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V668000 (SEAT BELTS, AIR BAGS), BUT RECEIVED A POSTCARD FROM TK HOLDINGS ABOUT THEM FILING FOR BANKRUPTCY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000.
NO FUEL TO RUN OVER 10 MILES AN HOUR. THIS SEAMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH DODGE AVENGERS I HAVE CHECKED OUT
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL IS NOT WORKING MY CAR LOSES POWER AND WON'T GO OVER 25 MPG IF THAT WHICH COULD CAUSE A ACCIDENT IF I AM DRIVING ALONG THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THAT LIGHT WITH TWO LIGHTING BOLTS COME ON AND THE POWER GOES. I HAVE SEEN ON THE INTERNET SEVERAL PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM AND WONDER WHY DODGE IS NOT DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT. THEY MUST KNOW BECAUSE THIS PART IS UNDER WARRANTY FOR ONLY THREE YEARS AND THAT IS WHEN IT GOES IS AFTER THREE YEARS WARRANTY IS UP. I LIKE DODGE AND WILL PROBABLY KEEP BUYING THERE BUT I WISH THEY WOULD LOOK FURTHER INTO THIS PROBLEM AND FIX IT THEY COULD GAIN A LOT MORE LOYAL CUSTOMERS IF THEY DID. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS WHEN IN DRIVE OR DRIVING SOME WHERE AND IT WILL NOT GO UP HILLS AT ALL STALLS OUT WHEN THIS IS HAPPENING.
"TAKATA RECALL" I WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BACK IN OCTOBER 2016, IT IS NOW THE END OF JUNE 2017 AND HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING BACK. I THINK THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN REMENDIED IN A PROPER AMOUNT OF TIME. MY FAMILYS SAFTY IS AT RISK.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEPT FLASHING ON AND OFF AND EVENTUALLY HAS STAYED ON. THERE'S A CONNECTOR WITH TWO WIRES THAT HAVE SEPARATED DUE TO CONSTANT IN AND OUT OF THE VEHICLE AS USED FOR. THERE ARE NO CURRENT ACTIVE AIRBAGS IN THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER SIDE SEATS DUE TO THIS REASON. LABOR AND PART COSTS ARE MORE THAN INCOME CAN HANDLE; THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS FIXED.

I PURCHASED IT WITH AROUND 32,000 MILES AND RIGHT AROUND 55000 MILES MY AC WENT OUT IM BEING TOLD ITS THE EVAPORATOR AND IS GONNA COST 700 HUNDRED DOLLARS TO FIX AND NOW AT 70,000 MILES ITS STARTING TO MAKES THIS TAPPING NOISE THEY SAY IT'S PROBABLY THE LIFTERS OR SOMETHING BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE ITS LOW ON OIL BUT ITS NOT THE DEALER BASICALLY WANTS MONEY

THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN THE DRIVER. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER'S FACE STRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED HEAD AND FACE INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V668000 (SEAT BELTS, AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.

THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE AUGUST OR SEPTEMBER OF 2017. THE CONTACT DID NOT EXPERIENCE A FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000. ON DECEMBER 10, 2016, I TOOK MY 2014 DODGE AVENGER IN FOR DIAGNOSIS/REPAIR BECAUSE THE ENGINE WAS STALLING/SHUTTING OFF WHEN STOPPED OR GETTING READY TO STOP. NOTHING WAS FOUND. ON DECEMBER 13, 2016;MY VEHICLE SHUT DOWN TWICE WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH COMING VERY CLOSE TO GETTING HIT IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) NEEDED REPLACEMENT. MY VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, THANKFULLY! ! THIS PART HAS A 2-YEAR WARRANTY ONLY! ONCE TOLD OF THE TIPM ISSUE, I WENT ONLINE AND RESEARCHED THIS PART. I SAW MANY MODELS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND THAT CHRYSLER HAD SETTLED A LAWSUIT OVER THOUSANDS/MILLIONS OF 2007-2014 CHRYSLER VEHICLES WITH DEFECTIVE TIPM'S. JUST LAST WEEK I SAW A DODGE CHARGER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WONDER IF THIS WAS THE SAME ISSUE AS MINE. AT THIS POINT, I CAN'T REFER ANYONE TO BUY ANY CHRYSLER VEHICLE.....SUCH A SHAME BECAUSE I REALLY LOVE MY CAR, BUT AFTER THIS ORDEAL, I'M PARANOID WONDERING WHAT ELSE WILL GO WRONG!! *TR
I WROTE PREVIOUSLY ON THE BRAKES NOT WORKING RESULTING IN ACCIDENT BUT I CAN'T FIND WHERE TO UPDATE MY PREVIOUS COMPLAINT SO I'LL ADD TO IT HERE. WE HAVE SINCE LEARNED THE SPEED AT TIME OF ACCIDENT WAS 21 MPH, RED LIGHT CAME ON WHEN BRAKES WERE PRESSED AND THERE WERE NO BRAKES. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME IT HAPPENED. THE OTHER 2 THE BRAKES CAME RIGHT BACK. THE ACCIDENT DID RESULT IN THE VEHICLE BEING TOTALED. THANK GOODNESS NO INJURIES BUT WHAT WE HAVE SINCE LEARNED IS THE AIRBAGS DID INDEED DEPLOY, THANK GOODNESS, BUT THE DRIVER SEATBELT DID NOT HOLD. WHEN THEY GOT HIM OUT OF THE DRIVER SEAT, THE SEATBELT WAS ACROSS HIM BUT NO LONGER BUCKLED. IT WAS JUST LAYING ACROSS HIM, BETWEEN THE AIRBAG AND THE DRIVER. I DID RECEIVE A OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER NOTIFICATION SAYING THERE IS A RECALL BUT IT SAYS THEY DON'T HAVE A FIX YET. THIS IS BEYOND SCARY. ESPECIALLY SINCE WE OWN TWO OF THE SAME VEHICLES. WE COULDN'T AFFORD TO PARK THE VEHICLES UNTIL A FIX WAS MADE AVAILABLE SO DRIVING THE OTHER AVENGER IS VERY SCARY. I SURE HOPE THERE IS A REMEDY SOON. THE RECALL IS ALSO FOR THE AIRBAGS WHICH I THANK MY LUCKY STARS AT LEAST THEY DID DEPLOY. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED 11/16/2016. PHOTOS ATTACHED. *TR
MY 2014 DODGE AVENGER HAS A FAULTY TIPM. THIS HAS CAUSED MY CAR TO LOSE ALL ELECTRICAL POWER INCLUDING ENGINE STALLING, LACK OF POWER STEERING, AND NO LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY HIGHWAY AT NIGHT. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I DON'T KNOW WHY THIS HASN'T BEEN FRONT PAGE NEWS! AS AN UBER AND LYFT DRIVER I CAN'T MAKE A LIVING NOW BECAUSE OF THIS. CHRYSLER HAS ALREADY BEEN SUED OVER THIS AND NEED TO BE CONTINUED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. THEY HAVE GIVEN NO EFFORT TO RECALL ALL OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES YET, ONLY A FEW MODELS THAT WERE HEAVILY MENTIONED IN THE LAWSUIT. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE. THIS PART COSTS AT LEAST $1000 FOR THE CONSUMER TO REPLACE ONLY TO BE ENDANGERED BY IT YET AGAIN. CHRYSLER HAS ACTED LAZILY AND UNSCRUPULOUSLY REGARDING THIS MATTER AND I NEED MY VEHICLE FIXED.
