My vehicle has created a rotten subframe that holds my engine
My car shuts down while driving These cars recalled July10 2008 Mine was made April18 2008 but has the same issue It could cost lives
I’ve only had the car since Aug. Im the second owner, it drove just fine. Then I got an oil change. Then the car began to rev down hill and struggled to make it uphill. Then my exhaust became excessively loud. Then the wheel became loose ,and started pulling ALOT. I was on my way to get an alignment this morning and the whole front end began to buckle not even a minute down the road. I tmade it in back the driveway before the front end collapsed completely
Rear subframe rusted right through control rods snapped rear end of car dropped down. Upon researching they know that this is bad and unsafe even gave a 10 year extended warranty for front and rear subframe so how long will and how many complaints before this is an actual recall. I see here in your complaints that there is a large number of complaints on this issue. How are they getting away with this and nothing being done. I will have photos also police had said if this happened while it was on interstate would have crashed and could have been fatal. The tire would have ripped right off. So not only was my safety but the safety of the others being jeopardized cause everyone just keeps looking away at this issue. I would love to know how many of these subframes have had to be replaced I bet if you do research there is not one of them out there that either should be replaced have been replaced or will need to be replaced. Stop allowing these car companies to use sub standard parts. I am sure this will fall to the wayside along with the other 100 complaints. I will try my hardest to make sure everyone knows this is a problem that the car company is fully aware of and nobody has done anything about and keep researching on how many more this has happened to and try to get everyone to file a complaint. There was NO WARNING SIGN just broke loose passenger side of car was practically on the ground the broken control arm is what held everything up. Please can we really check into this if there is a recall at least people will know the problem exist.
Rear crossmember/ subframe rusted thru and broke. Replaced front several years ago. Car has always been garaged.
The entire underneath of my car is rusted out. I was driving to work one day when someone pulled out in front of me and I had to hit the brakes. That resulted in the subframe and front drivers axel to break as I’m driving! The sunroof leaks when it rains and half the time the electricity doesn’t work on the sunroof button. My doors have completely stopped auto locking and my hazards will randomly start flashing without pushing the button. Steering is absolutely terrible, it feels like you’re skidding on ice or hydroplaning the entire drive.

I was informed at inspection that the main front cross member has a huge hole in the center of it and is rusting out badly. At 162,356 miles this car will not pass safety inspection. This car is not safe for me or my family. No warning lamps or messages. I was told that one bad bump could do us in. We were told to contact the dealership and found out about the extended warranty that had already passed during the previous owners time. This should have been a recall, but what else can you expect from dodge.
The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Caliber. The contact stated while taking the vehicle into a local state inspection, he was notified that the vehicle did not pass inspection due to the K-frame of the undercarriage was fractured due to corrosion and rust. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 159,000.
2008 Dodge Caliber with approx. 135,000 miles on it. Rotted subframe and rusted crossbar. Vehicle started swerving as if driving on ice (in the summertime!). Took it to a reputable mechanic and he wouldn't even put it on a lift. He said it was too much of a risk. I understand this is common on this vehicle, it's dangerous and should be recalled! NO more Dodge vehicles for me, ever!
2008 DODGE CALIBER SUB FRAME/K-FRAME FRONT END CROSSMEMBER COMPLETELY RUSTED THRU CAUSING THE DRIVER SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM TO RIP FREE FROM FRAME (SEPERATING PART OF FRAME, WITH LOWER CONTROL ARM) FROM REST OF FRAME. TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR MAINTENANCE, TECHNICIAN TOLD US THE FRONT CROSSMEMBER IS RUSTED THROUGHOUT AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT. TECHNICIAN ADVISED IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE AND THIS MODEL WAS GIVEN EXTENDED WARRANTY UNDER X69 NOTICE, HOWEVER WARRANTY MAY HAVE ALREADY EXPIRED. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER REPRESENTATIVE AND THEY ADVISED THE VEHICLE WAS PART OF THE X69 NOTICE BUT WAS BEYOND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT EXPIRED IN JUNE 2018. I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF VEHICLE BAND NEVER RECEIVED NOTICE OF THE ISSUE FROM CHRYSLER/DODGE. THE CROSSMEMBER RUST ISSUE APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL. I AM REQUESTING AN INVESTIGATION AND RECALL FOR THIS PART.
THE FRONT CALIPERS WILL NOT ENGAGE WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED. THE BRAKE PEDAL SINKS TO THE FLOOR AND HAS NO STOPPING POWER. THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED AND CALIPERS ARE NEW REPLACEMENTS. AFTER REPLACING THESE PARTS IT NOW SMELL OF BURNT BRAKE FLUID BUT THERE IS NO LEAK AND THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO WORSEN. THE FIRST TIME I WAS DOING 45-50 ON A COUNTY RD WHEN A ANOTHER CAR PULLED OUT 20 FEET AWAY AND I WAS TRYING TO SLOW DOWN WHEN I LOST THE FRONT BRAKES AS PISHED IN ON THE PUSHED IN ON THE BRAKES THE PEDAL SANK AND THEY DIDN'T ENGAGE. I THEN BOUGHT THE NEW CALIPERS AND IT WAS FINE FOR ABOUT A MONTH. THE SECOND TIME I WAS STUCK IN TRAFFIC ON A BUSY CITY STREET WHEN THE ABS BRAKES FAILED RESULTING IN ME RUNNING A RED LIGHT AND ALMOST GETTING HIT. IT HAS CORRODED AND TOOK HUNKS OFF ALUMINUM FROM MY FRONT DRIVER RIM. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM AND KEEP REPLACING PARTS FOR IT TO TEAR UP NEW ONES
I HAVE HAD MY 2008 DODGE CALIBER SINCE 2009. SINCE THEN I HAVE REPLACED BOTH TIE RODS 4 TIMES. I JUST HAD THEM DONE AGAIN ABOUT 1 1/2 YEARS AGO AND THEY ARE BROKEN AGAIN. I HAVE CHANGED THE BALL JOINTS AS WELL.. THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED I READ A LOT OF FORUMS AND EVERYBODY COMPLAINS ABOUT THE SAME THING.

RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2008 DODGE CALIBER(OHIO). ON INITIAL DRIVE RETURNING WITH VEHICLE I NOTICED A VIBRATION COMING THROUGH STEERING WHEEL. UPON INSPECTION, WAS INFORMED THE TIE ROD ENDS AND CONTROL ARMS BOTH COULD USE REPLACEMENT, BUT COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE MORE IMPORTANT BAD FRONT AND REAR CROSSMEMBERS AS WELL AS FRONT AND REAR CRASH BARS, BOTH HAVE SEVERE RUST DEVELOPMENT WITH METAL DETERIORATION WHICH COULD IMPOSE A SAFETY CONCERN DOWN THE ROAD. WAS ADVISE TO LOOK INTO REPLACEMENT. REACHED OUT TO ONE OF THE LOCAL DEALERSHIPS AND WAS INFORMED IT WAS A BULLETIN, HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT AM OUTSIDE OF 10 YEAR PERIOD. RUST FROM CROSSMEMBER IS NOW IN PROCESS OF TRANSFERRING TO ACTUAL FRAME AND COMING THROUGH AS HOLES IN ROCKERS NOW AS WELL. DEALERSHIP OFFERING NO HELP AFTER STATING THE ENHANCED SAFETY CONCERN. HARD TO BELIEVE AN 08 CAN DETERIORATE SO FAST. YOU WOULD THINK WITH THE COMPLAINTS AND T.S.B. AS WELL AS SAFETY CONCERNS, SEEING STILL ORIGINAL PARTS THAT HAVE BEEN WARRANTIED TO REPLACE BUT HAVE NOT ON THIS VIN, GETS NO HELP AT ALL. *TR
MAKING NOISE GOING AROUND BEND 06052020. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR SPEED LOWERED AND THE TRANS TEMP LIGHT AND ESP LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL AND ETB MODULE LIGHT CAME CAR WON'T GO OVER 40 AND REMAINS IN LIMP MODE EVEN AFTER TAKING IT TO THE SHOP
WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING, THE FRONT SUBFRAME CROSSMEMBER RUSTED THROUGH, CAUSING HER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE CAR AND SHE COULD NOT SAFELY OPERATE IT WITHOUT REPAIR. I MANAGED TO GET IT TO A FIRESTONE FOR THEM TO LOOK AT AND THEY REFERRED ME TO A DEALER AND TOLD ME NOT TO DRIVE IT ANYMORE BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE. THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT DODGE KNEW ABOUT, BUT FAILED TO NOTIFY ME ABOUT. I ONLY FOUND OUT ABOUT THE PROBLEM FROM THE DEALERSHIP, WHO TOLD ME THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT COVERS THIS PROBLEM HAD EXPIRED IN 2018 AND THAT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF ANY REPAIRS. I OWNED THE CAR DURING THAT TIME AND I DID NOT KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM, SO I COULD NOT ACT ON GETTING IT REPAIRED. THIS NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL BECAUSE OF THE POTENTIAL TO KILL PEOPLE WHEN THE SUBFRAME RUSTS OUT. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT AT THE TIME AT A RELATIVELY LOW SPEED, BUT HAD THIS HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY IT COULD HAVE KILLED HER AND MY SON, AS WELL AS OTHERS ON THE ROAD. LUCKILY, I WAS ON A CITY STREET. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND SLOWED SIGNIFICANTLY, ALMOST STOPPING COMPLETELY AND BEGAN TO REBOOT AS IF IT WERE JUST BEING STARTED. I AM COMPLAINING BECAUSE I DO NOT FEEL IT TO BE SAFE FOR CONSUMERS ON ANY ROAD. I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD SON AND I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE DODGE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE MY, OR ANYONE ELSE'S FAMILY, GETS WHIPLASH FROM A REAR COLLISION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE CALIBER. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A TIRE STORE BECAUSE SHE HEARD A GRINDING NOISE AND THOUGHT THERE WAS A BRAKE ISSUE. THE TIRE STORE REPRESENTATIVE DETERMINED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR CROSS MEMBERS WERE SEVERLY CORRODED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
I WAS TURNING IN MY VEHICLE FOR A TRADE IN AND DURING THE APPRAISAL TEST DRIVE THE AXEL BROKE AND IT HAD TO BE TOWED. THE GENTLEMEN STATED THAT IS WAS DUE TO RUST BUILD UP. OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE COMPLAIN ABOUT THE POWER STEERING FEELING OFF, THE CAR NOT DRIVING RIGHT, ETC AND IT HAS BEEN IN THREE PLACES WHERE THE MAINTENANCE FOLKS SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. ACCORDING TO THE BULLETIN, THESE SAME ISSUES SHOULD HAVE BEEN CAUGHT SOMEWHERE TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. I MAY HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED BUT I AM ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY AND MOVE EVERY TWO YEARS TO INCLUDE DEPLOYMENTS WHERE I EASILY COULD HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE NOTICE. MY CAR VALUE WAS 1500 DOLLARS BEFORE IT WAS WRECKED, BUT I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THE PREVIOUS MAINTENANCE TOTALS AND THE LOST DAYS OF NOT HAVING MY CAR THE OTHER TIMES IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED. THE FRONT CROSSMEMBER HAS RUSTED OUT SO MUCH THAT IT WILL NOT PASS A PA STATE INSPECTION AND IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. AFTER HEARING THIS I FOUND OUT THAT IT IS NOT A MATTER "IF" IT WILL RUST OUT, JUST A MATTER OF "WHEN". I WAS NOT FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN DURING THE WARRANTY EXTENSION AND FEEL THAT DODGE SHOULD HAVE NOTIFIED ME THAT THERE WAS AN EXTENSION.
DRIVING IN A RAINSTORM, THE WIPERS QUIT WORKING. PULLED OVER AND RE-STARTED CAR, WIPERS WORKED. GOT BACK ON THE ROAD AND IT HAPPENED NUMEROUS MORE TIMES. FOUND NO PROBLEM WITH FUSES, WIRING, OR WIPER MOTOR. VERY DANGEROUS.LOTS MORE COMPLAINTS ON INTERNET SEARCH RESULTS.

FIAT CHRYSLER AMERICA RELEASED 2 BULLETINS AND AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR AN INFERIOR MATERIAL CAUSING SEVERE RUST AND PERFORATION OF THE FRONT AND REAR CROSSMEMBER ON 2008-2012 DODGE CALIBER AND 2008-2012 JEEP COMPASS PATRIOT. THE CROSSMEMBER IS AN IMPORTANT STRUCTURAL COMPONENT OF ANY VEHICLE. IT SUPPORTS THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR AND CARRIES THE WEIGHT OF THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. FCA CUSTOMER SERVICE IS CURRENTLY REFUSING TO REPLACE THESE PARTS EVEN THOUGH THE BULLETIN ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THE PART IS FAULTY. THE SEVERE RUST ON THIS PART WILL CAUSE MY VEHICLE TO NO LONGER PASS STATE INSPECTION. I HAVE OWNED MY 2008 DODGE CALIBER SINCE FEBRUARY 2017. THE FIRST BULLETIN RELEASED BY FCA REGARDING KNOWLEDGE OF THIS FAULTY PART WAS MARCH 2017, ONE MONTH AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR. A SECOND BULLETIN REGARDING THE SAME ISSUE WAS RELEASED JULY 2017. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED ON AUGUST 2018. AFTER THE SECOND BULLETIN WAS ISSUED, THERE WAS A PERIOD OF 13 MONTHS BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED AND WHILE I OWNED THE CAR. I WAS NOT CONTACTED OR MADE AWARE BY FCA IN ANY WAY THAT THE VEHICLE I WAS DRIVING HAD A KNOWN ISSUE AND THAT I COULD HAVE IT ADDRESSED WITHIN EXTENDED WARRANTY. IT WAS NOT UNTIL OCTOBER 2019 THAT I WAS HAVING WORK DONE ON MY CAR AND THE MECHANIC BROUGHT IT TO MY ATTENTION BECAUSE THE RUST IS SO BAD IT WILL NOT PASS THE NEXT STATE INSPECTION. PHOTOGRAPHS ARE INCLUDED. I ENCOURAGE THE NHTSA TO RECALL THIS PART AS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE RUST WEAKENS THE METAL AND IF THIS PART WERE TO BREAK AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE RESULTS COULD BE DEADLY. FCA IS AWARE OF THE FAULTY PART AND IT IS CLEARLY DANGEROUS FOR FCA TO DENY ADDRESSING THIS KNOWN ISSUE. EVEN THOUGH THE WARRANTY PERIOD HAS PASSED, FCA HAS PRODUCED VEHICLES THAT ARE UNSAFE AND THE ISSUE SHOULD BE CORRECTED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE CALIBER. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MOVE AND THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MUFFLER SHOP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CROSS MEMBER BAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,500. *DT THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THE SAME DAY AT THE TUNE OF $1,100 AT OWNERS EXPENSE FOR A RECALLED PART. *TR *DT THE CONSUMER PROVIDED PHOTOS OF THE DEFECT. *TR *TR

THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A TIRE SHOP WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CROSSMEMBERS ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WERE SEVERELY RUSTED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KOLOSSO JEEP DODGE (2701 W COLLEGE AVE, APPLETON, WI 54914) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONTAL CROSSMEMBERS WERE ALSO RUSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,200.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND STAYS ON. IT RANDOMLY GOES OFF FOR A MINUTE BUT WILL STAY ON MOST OF THE TOME AND BEEP NONSTOP

THERE WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THE ORIGINAL OWNER NEVER REPAIRED THE ISSUE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED 04/2018. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO FIX THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000.

MY VEHICLE WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND I WAS TOLD THAT MY SUB FRAME IS RUSTING AND UNTIL MY FRONT CROSSMEMBER IS REPLACED TO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE IT IS UNSAFE. MY NEIGHBOR WHO IS A MECHANIC SAID IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH MY CAR AND HE BELIEVED THEIR TO BE A RECALL. I LOOKED ONLINE AND COULDN'T FIND A RECALL BUT EVENTUALLY I FOUND SOMETHING ON CHRYSLER'S WEBSITE ABOUT X69 CORROSION THAT AFFECTED 2008 TO 2012 CALIBERS AND JEEP COMPASSES. THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THEY NEVER TOLD ANYONE TO LOOK FOR THIS. I ASKED ABOUT IT AND THEIR SOLUTION WAS THEY OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 10 YEARS AND THAT MY WARRANTY EXPIRED SEVERAL MONTHS AGO SO I WAS OUT OF LUCK. MY FAMILY'S SAFETY HAS AN EXPIRATION??? I AM THE ONLY OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE AND NEVER HAD MY FRAME CHECKED NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN IT'S UNSAFE TO DRIVE. SINCE THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND BECAUSE IT WASN'T A MANDATED RECALL THEY ONLY HAVE TO FIX THE ONES THAT ARE BROUGHT TO A DEALER WITHIN 10 YEARS? IF THEY FIX SOMEWHERE ELSE THEY WON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY. THIS SEEMS UNFAIR. THEY USED SUB PAR PARTS AND NOW CONSUMERS ARE THEY ONE PUTTING THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES AT RISK. THEY SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO FIX THE CARS. SAFETY SHOULD NOT HAVE AN EXPIRATION. I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE THE CAR BUT I WILL NOT PUT MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE AXLE, SUBFRAME, ONE OF THE BRAKES, AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LINE WERE REPLACED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TRANSFERRED TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,850.

LEFT LOWER CONTROL ARM AND UPPER CV SHAFT SEPARATED FROM TRANSMISSION WHILE ENTERING AN ON RAMP, CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING AND DRIVEABILITY. COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY HAD THE SPEED BEEN FASTER AND ANY CLOSER TO THE OVERPASS BARRIER. I HAD TO BE TOWED FROM THE SIDE OF THE ON RAMP WITH THE POLICE WAIVING PEOPLE AROUND. I COULDN'T EVEN EXIT MY DRIVERS DOOR DUE TO NO TRAFFIC CLEARANCE. I WAS ESSENTIALLY A SITTING DUCK ON THE SHOULDER OF AN ON RAMP, JUST A FEW FEET SHY OF THE OVERPASS OF THE HIGHWAY I HAD JUST EXITED TO ENTER ANOTHER HIGHWAY.

LET ME START BY SAYING THAT I LOVE DRIVING MY 2008 DODGE CALIBER AND WISH THAT IT WAS WORTH REPAIRING ALL OF THE ISSUES THAT I AM RESEARCHING ARE COMMON PROBLEMS AMONG FELLOW OWNERS OF THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL OF VEHICLE. AS A PERSON WHO PAYS CLOSE ATTENTION TO MY VEHICLE, REPAIR COSTS HAVE BEEN ADDING UP OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS. STARTING WITH A COMPLETE REPAIR RELATED TO THE SUSPENSION INCLUDING THE CONTROL ARMS/ BUSHINGS, SWAY BAR, BALL JOINTS, AND TIE RODS, WHICH HAS CAUSED MY 4 NEW TIRES TO EXPERIENCE A SHORTENED LIFESPAN DUE TO UNEVEN WEARING. RECENTLY, I HAD MY CAR IN THE SHOP TO ADDRESS A LOUD NOISE I WAS HEARING WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED A LONG LIST OF ISSUES, INCLUDING RUSTING/CORROSION TO THE ENGINE CRADLE AND FURTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE SUSPENSION THAT IN THEIR PROFESSIONAL OPINION DETERMINED THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO OPERATE. AT THIS POINT, THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THERE HAD BEEN RECALLS AND AN EXTENDED WARRANTY IMPLEMENTED TO ADDRESS THE RUSTING/CORROSION OF THE SUB FRAME, AS I WAS UNAWARE AND DID NOT RECEIVE ANY NOTICES FOR ANY OF THE LISTED RECALLS. TODAY, I FIND MYSELF RESEARCHING THE LIST OF PROBLEMS THAT THE MECHANIC INDICATED WITH THE SUSPENSION AND ROTTING ENGINE CRADLE AND WILL UNFORTUNATELY NOT BE WORTH PUTTING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS INTO TO MAKE IT SAFE, AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE HONOURED BY THE MANUFACTURER. I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THE PROPER STEPS TO ADDRESS THIS EXTREME SAFETY CONCERN THAT HAS BEEN AN OBVIOUS ISSUE FOR MANY OWNERS LIKE MYSELF. I WONDER HOW MANY OTHERS DID NOT RECEIVE THE RECALL NOTICE FOR THE ROTTING ENGINE CRADLE AND HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS IN REPAIRS ON THAT AND/OR SUSPENSION MALFUNCTIONS? THESE PROBLEMS ARE NOT MINOR AND NEED TO BE ADDRESSED, AS I AM SURE THERE ARE MANY OWNERS WHO HAVE NOT BEEN MADE AWARE OF THE RECALL AND SAFETY CONCERNS THIS POSES TO OPERATORS OR OTHERS IN THE VEHICLE PRESENCE.

I WENT TO MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER FOR OIL CHANGE AND WAS INFORMED THAT FRONT SUB FRAME IS ROTTING OUT. WAS TOLD EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT WAS GOOD FOR 10 YEARS EXPIRED 2-18. I HAVE READ ONLINE NUMEROUS CALIBER OWNERS WITH THIS PROBLEM, SOME SO BAD THEY CAN'T BE FIXED. WHAT GOOD IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT IS ONLY GOOD FOR THE FIRST TEN YEARS AND I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2012 FROM A DODGE DEALER AND WAS NEVER INFORMED OF EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS ISSUE OR THAT THERE WAS EVEN AN ISSUE WITH THIS. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AS WHAT CHANCES WOULD A PERSON HAVE OF SURVIVING AT A SPEED OF 70 MPH AND THE FRAME BREAKS? OR WHAT INNOCENT PEOPLE COULD BE KILLED BECAUSE OF IT. WITH THIS MANY PERSONS HAVING THIS ISSUE AND SUCH A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. MY CAR ONLY HAS 126,500 MILES ON IT. IF DODGE DOES NOT WANT TO DO A RECALL THEN I FEEL THEY DON'T GIVE A [XXX] ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER DODGE OR CHRYSLER AGAIN. PLEASE CONSIDER PERSUING A RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE ISSUE AS IT IS SERIOUS!!
