CAR STALLS AND ENGINE SHUTS DOWN, LOSS OF STEERING WHILE EITHER SITTING STILL OR DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AFTER ADDING FUEL TO THE CAR.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART FOR THE RECALL WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT ARM AND THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER,THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL BOX OVERHEATED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000. VIN CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HIT A DEER AT 75 MPH. THIS CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE AND ENGINE. THERE WAS NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. I ENDED UP WITH NECK/BACK INJURIES AND BRUISING WHERE I STRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL. *TR
AFTER FILLING TANK 2006 DODGE CHARGER RT V8 STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES. FIRST TWO STILL SITTING AT PUMP, NEXT AT INTERSECTION WHILE TURNING RIGHT AND ALSO LOST POWER STEERING, NEXT AT PARKING SPACE WHILE STRAIGHTENING OUT. SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD, ESPECIALLY AT INTERSECTIONS OR STALLING IN TRAFFIC. FOUND NHTSA PE13016 REGARDING THIS ISSUE, BUT I SEE IT IS CLOSED AND WAS ONLY ISSUED TO CERTAIN VINS. ALL AFFECTED MODELS SHOULD BE COVERED FOR THE TANK REPLACEMENT AND ASSOCIATED 'FLOAT' AND VAPOR PURGE VALVE. *TR
ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS NOW WITHIN THE PAST FEW MONTHS, MY CAR WILL SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN AFTER I HAVE FILLED IT WITH FUEL. THE FIRST 2 TIMES THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE IN THE FUELING STATION PARKING LOT. THE THIRD TIME OCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A THREE LANE ROAD TRAVELING AT 50MPH. THE LAST INCIDENT OCCURRED AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO BLOCK TRAFFIC. EACH TIME WAS IMMEDIATELY AFTER FILLING THE CAR WITH GAS. I USE ONLY PREMIUM FUEL IN THE CAR AND THE FUEL WAS PURCHASED AT DIFFERENT BUSINESSES. AFTER ALLOWING THE CAR TO SIT FOR A MINUTE OR SO, THE CAR WILL RESTART AND RUNS AS NORMAL. I HAVE CALLED A LOCAL DODGE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE ARE NO RECALLS AND THAT THERE IS NO WAY FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY OTHER DODGE CHARGER AND CHRYSLER 300 OWNERS THAT THEY TOO HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE; CAR SHUTTING OFF AFTER FUELING. MY CONCERN IS THAT BY STALLING IN AN INTERSECTION OR AT HIGH SPEED, EVENTUALLY A WRECK WILL OCCUR. I AM ALSO CONCERNED BY THE DODGE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT TELLING ME THERE IS NO WAY TO DIAGNOSE THIS ISSUE. *TR
I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND MY LIGHT TURNED GREEN BUT I WAS YIELDING TO TURN LEFT WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND MY CAR STALLED IN THE CENTER OF THE INTERSECTION. I QUICKLY TURNED OFF THE CAR AND RE STARTED IT AND IT TURNED BACK ON. I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE INTERSECTION BEFORE I WAS HIT. I WAS EXTREMELY SCARED. AND SINCE THEN IT SEEMS TO STALL A LOT WHEN L AM IDLING AT A LIGHT OR AT A DRIVE THROUGH WINDOW. THIS IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING AND DANGEROUS. PLEASE HELP ME. *TR
THIS PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT A YEAR AGE. AT FIRST IT WAS ONCE EVER 3 MONTHS NOW IT HAPPENING MORE OFTEN. ON 1/14/2014 AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK THE CAR STALLED NEARLY BEING REAR ENDED ON THE EXPRESSWAY. THIS PROBLEM GETTING WORSE AND WORSE EVERYTIME. MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER HAS BEGAN TO STALL AFTER A GAS FILL-UP. IT IS VERY SCARY BECAUSE IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW FAST YOU ARE DRIVING. I HAD IT STALL ABOUT 5 TIMES AFTER FILLING UP TODAY. WHILE DRIVING FROM POINT A TO POINT B APPROXIMATELY 17 MILES, THIS VEHICLE STALLED 7 TIMES. MOSTLY STALLING WHILE AT A LIGHT IT HAS INCREASED TO WHILE DRIVING AS WELL. ONE TIME SPECIFIC IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION CAUSING A BACK UP IN TRAFFIC AND NEAR ACCIDENT. WHILE UNDERSTANDING THIS ISSUE HAS MAINLY BEEN INVESTIGATED AND REPORTED AFTER FILL UP, THIS INSTANCE IS NOT. THIS IS A DAILY ISSUE THAT DEMANDS ATTENTION. MECHANICAL TECHS CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS EVEN AFTER REPLACING THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. ACCORDING TO MY RESEARCH THIS APPARENTLY HAS HAPPEN ENOUGH WITHOUT RESOLUTION BUT HOW MANY CLOSE CALLS ARE GOING TO TURN TO FATALITIES BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE? PLEASE REFER TO PE13-016 REGARDING SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. AFTER FILLING CAR WITH GAS LEFT GAS STATION AND CAR STALLED IN TRAFFIC. AFTER A FEW MINUTES CAR STARTED BUT I HAD TO SIT BLOCKING TRAFFIC UNTIL IT STARTED AGAIN. *TR

I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT AND MY CAR LIGHTS WENT OUT. THE CAR JUST DIED ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. DODGE SHOULD FIX THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. *TR
CAR LOCKED IN PARK IN THE DRIVEWAY. WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN ALL THE DASH LIGHTS FLICKERED FOR 2-3 SECONDS THEN ALL LIGHTS AND GAUGES SHUT DOWN THIS INCLUDED THE HEADLIGHTS AS WELL. WHILE DRIVING 55 MILES PER HOUR THE CAR SHUT ITSELF OFF I WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AT THE TIME. CAR IS NOW AT THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH DASH LIGHTS FLICKERING AND THE CAR STOPPING. DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM BUT THE CAR WILL ALSO SURGE FORWARD AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED LIKE I HAVE STEPPED ON THE GAS BUT MY FOOT WOULD BE ON THE BRAKE. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND IT SCARES ME TO DEATH. THESE ARE SAFETY ISSUES THAT NEED TO BE CORRECTED BY THE MANUFACTURE. DEALERSHIPS ARE AWARE OF THESE ISSUES AND HAVE DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEMS. THIS WILL BE THE LAST DODGE I PURCHASE EVEN THOUGH I LIKE TO BUY AMERICAN MADE. AN INVESTIGATION SHOULD BE DONE WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS. I WILL BE CALLING DETROIT WITH THESE ISSUES. *TR

THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN NO HELP AND WANTS TO CHARGE EXTRA MONEY JUST TO LOOK AT IT. CONSIDERING I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER DRIVERS WITH THE SAME MAKE/ MODEL/ YEAR VEHICLE IN CAR FORUMS AND BLOGS REGARDING THIS VERY SAME ISSUE, I'M HOPING THIS REPORT WILL HELP PUSH FOR AN INVESTIGATION AS I HAVE TO DRIVE FOR MY EMPLOYMENT AND DO NOT WANT TO GET A TRAFFIC TICKET FOR FAULTY EQUIPMENT. *TR

ALTHOUGH THE RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED, CHRYSLER HAS NOT RELEASED THE REPLACEMENT PARTS TO ANY DEALER IN MY AREA (CENTRAL FLORIDA). FURTHER, THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE NO DATE BY WHICH THEY EXPECT TO RECEIVE THE PARTS. *TR
RECENTLY, UPON FILLING UP MY VEHICLE (I NEVER TOP OFF AND ONLY FILL TO THE CLICK) I MERGED ON TO THE INTERSTATE. AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH I NOTICED MY CAR BEGIN TO SPUTTER AND RAPIDLY DEGREASE IN SPEED. I PULLED OFF TO THE SHOULDER AND MY CAR STALLED SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL I FINALLY GOT IT RUNNING PROPERLY. EVER SINCE THIS INCIDENT MY CAR WILL STALL SEVERAL TIMES AFTER EVERY FILL UP, WHETHER I PUT 15 GALLONS IN OR 5 GALLONS IN. THIS FORCES ME TO FILL UP IN EITHER RURAL AREAS OR LATE AT NIGHT SO THAT I DO NOT PUT MYSELF OR OTHERS AT RISK. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MANY CHARGERS, MAGNUMS, AND 300CS. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. *TR
LUCKILY THE FREEWAY WAS EMPTY, BUT FROM 70MPH I WENT TO ABOUT 20 MPH I HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK TOOK IT IN AND COULDNT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. IT DID IT AGAIN LAST MONTH ON A COUNTRY RD, I'VE BEEN LUCKY THAT I HAVEN'T BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT! IT ALSO TURNS OFF AT STOPS BUT WILL RESTART IMMEDIATELY. NO ENGINE LIGHT IS ON I'VE PAID FOR 3 DIAGNOSTIC CHECKS AND NOTHING.
FULL TANK FILL FOR TRIP TO FLORIDA FROM NORTH CAROLINA. CAR STALLED WITHIN IN FEW BLOCKS FROM GAS STATION. RESTART AND STALL SEVERAL TIMES. LET IDLE FOR AWHILE AND NOTICED RPM'S GOING UP AND DOWN AT IDLE. FINALLY GOT GOING AND FUELED WITH A FULL TANK 2 TIMES ON WAY TO FLORIDA, SAME PROBLEM EACH TIME. CONTACTED DEALERSHIP IN DELAND FLORIDA AND WAS TOLD I HAD A FAULTY FUEL FLOAT AND WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE FUEL TANK OR I COULD WAIT UNTIL I GOT BACK TO NORTH CAROLINA. THEY SAID IF I ONLY FILLED TO 3/4 IT SHOULD BE FINE. I DID THAT AND GOT BACK TO NORTH CAROLINA. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP IN GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA. THEY WERE FAMILIAR WITH THIS PROBLEM. THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST BY FILLING FUEL TANK AND ENCOUNTERED THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY CONTACTED CHRYSLER FOR WARRANTY. CHRYSLER DENIED IT. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND GOT A CASE NUMBER. I TALKED TO SEVERAL PEOPLE AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK. NONE OF THEM CALLED BACK, SO I HAD TO MAKE CALLS. THEY DENIED FOR REASONS: VIN NOT COVERED, CAR BUILT IN WRONG MONTH, CAR HAS SALVAGE TITLE, NOT COVERED UNDER X53 OR CHRYSLER SERVICE BULLETIN #14-002-14 ISSUED IN FEBRUARY 2014.. I ASKED FOR A LETTER OF DENIAL. THEY REFUSED. SAID I COULD CONTACT AN ATTORNEY IF I WANTED A LETTER. THE COST FOR THIS KNOWN PROBLEM WILL BE $1,250.00. I HAVE HAD DODGE AND CHRYSLER VEHICLES SINE 1969. NOT A WAY TO TREAT A GOOD CUSTOMER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH AND APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, THE HEADLIGHTS FLASHED OFF AND ON AND A POP SOUND EMITTED FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE, BUT AN ABNORMAL SOUND EMITTED FROM THE REAR TIRES AND SMOKE APPEARED. ALSO, THE ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS DROVE OUT OF GAS STATION AND CAR STALLED STARTED IT UP AND I DROVE A COUPLE BLOCKS AND IT DID IT AGAIN DROVE ABOUT 1/2 MILE IT DID IT AGAIN. IT WAS SCARY I WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. *TR
HI, I'VE HAD A NUMBER OF ISSUES WITH THE FUEL TANK SCENARIO THE EARLIER MODELS SUFFER WITH. WHEN I FILL THE CAR, IT STALLS A NUMBER OF TIMES. I WAS IN A SITUATION WHERE I WAS COMING TO A LIGHT, THE RPM'S STARTED TO DROP AND THE ENGINE STARTED TO DIE AS I WAS BREAKING. THEN THE CAR REVVED BACK TO LIFE AND THIS CAUSE THE RPM'S TO SHOOT UP JOLTING THE VEHICLE FORWARD. IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT DIED YET AGAIN HOWEVER THE ISSUE IS I LOST ALL POWER, STEERING, BRAKES, EVERYTHING. FROM THE JOLT FORWARD I CAME DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO REAR ENDING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WITH A HEAVY BRAKE PEDAL. AT THIS POINT I WAS JARRED A BIT, AND NEEDED TO GET THE CAR GOING AGAIN. I WENT TO START IT AND IT DID NO'T WANT TO TURN OVER FOR ROUGHLY 30 SECONDS. THE LIGHT CHANGED AND THERE WAS A LINEUP OF DISGRUNTLED DRIVERS BEHIND ME AS I MADE EFFORTS TO GET GOING AGAIN. THEN INEVITABLY THE VEHICLE DIED YET AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AND WENT THROUGH THE SAME SITUATION. TO NEGATE THIS, I HAVE MADE EFFORTS TO NOT FILL THE TANK. NOW THE BIGGER ISSUE I AM HAVING IS THAT WHEN I GO TO PUT GAS IN THE CAR, IT DOES NOT TAKE. I CANNOT GET A GALLON IN WITHOUT THE PUMP CLICKING OFF. IT TAKES ME QUITE SOME TIME, 10 MINUTES EVEN TO SIMPLY PUT $20 IN THE CAR, AND I GET VERY FRUSTRATED GAS ATTENDANTS HERE IN JERSEY IF I'M NOT PERMITTED TO DO MAN THE PUMP. YOU NEED TO LITERALLY STAND WITH IT AND CONTINUE TO RESET THE PUMP AS IT SLOWLY TAKES AND CONTINUOUSLY CLICKS OFF. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE SOLVED, IT I'S SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE AND DANGEROUS. I HAVE MANY OTHER INSTANCES & DATES WITH STALLING AND JOLTING ISSUES AFTER FILLUP. EVEN WHEN I LEAVE A 1/4 OF THE TANK EMPTY, I STILL GET SOME SYMPTOMS. NOT AS OFTEN, BUT THE CAR STILL DOES DIE OUT. AFTER REFILLING THE GAS TANK, THE ENGINE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES WITH "BUCKING". THE TANK WAS NOT OVERFILLED. AFTER ABOUT 5 MILES AND SEVERAL STALLS, THE CONDITION WENT AWAY AND DID NOT REOCCUR UNTIL I GASSED UP AT A DIFFERENT STATION TWO WEEKS LATER. AGAIN THE TANK WAS NOT OVERFILLED. THIS PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT A MONTH AGE. AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK THE CAR STALLS REPEATEDLY NEARLY CAUSING MY FAMILY AND I TO BE REAR ENDED ON THE EXPRESSWAY KILLING ALL OF US. AFTER RECEIVING ASSISTANCE MOVING THE VEHICLE TO A SAFE PARKING PLACE, THE CAR STARTED, BUT RAN EXTREMELY ROUGH. AFTER ABOUT FIVE MINUTES THE ENGINE SMOOTH OUT. THIS PROBLEM WOULD HAPPEN ONLY AFTER FILLING UP WITH FUEL. TRIED FUELING UP AT DIFFERENT FUELING STATIONS, SAME RESULTS. THE ENGINE SEEMS TO WOULD SHUT OFF ALWAYS AS YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO GET INTO TRAFFIC. HAD OUR MECHANIC CHECK THE VEHICLE OUT THE FIRST TIME, THEY CLEANED ALL TO DO WITH INJECTORS AND HOUSING ECT. 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T DAYTONA. I NOTICED A LURCH IN THE VEHICLE YESTERDAY AS I WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK AS WELL AS THE SPEAKERS TURNING OFF/ON. THIS MORNING AS THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT, THE DASHBOARD TURNED OFF, VEHICLE CHIMED AND ALL GAUGES WENT TO ZERO, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS STILL RUNNING AND WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT DISPLAYING ANY INDICATION ON GAUGES. AFTER ABOUT 10-15 SECONDS, GAUGES RETURNED TO NORMAL AS IF THE VEHICLE HAD RESTARTED. HAPPENED TWICE WITHIN 20 MIN WHILE VEHICLE WAS IDLING IN TRAFFIC. I JUST FILLED MY CAR UP WITH GAS AND DROVE IT. I CAME TO A STOP AT THE LIGHT AND WHEN I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE MY CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. IT FINALLY PICKED UP SPEED, BUT AS I APPROACHED THE SECOND LIGHT IT COMPLETELY CUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO START IT BUT I HAD TO GO OVER 50+ OR MORE MILES PER HOUR TO KEEP IT FROM STALLING. ONCE I DROVE INTO MY DRIVEWAY IT COMPLETELY CUT OFF AGAIN. I RAN THE CAR FOR 30 MINUTES AND IT DID NOT CUT OFF, BUT WHEN MY HUSBAND LEFT FOR WORK, AS HE APPROACHED THE RED LIGHT IT CUT OFF ONCE AGAIN. THIS HAS GOT BE FIXED. THE OTHER NIGHT I WAS DRIVING MY CAR, AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. I PARKED TO GET GAS, TRIED TO START IT BACK UP AND COMPLETELY DIED OUT. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN, THE VEHICLE HAS COMPLETELY STALLED LEAVING ME SITTING IN THE ONCOMING LANE OF TRAFFIC, ONCE NEARLY BEING HIT IN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. IF I HAD TO DESCRIBE ONE SITUATION THAT SEEMS TO TAKE PRECEDENCE, IT WOULD BE MOSTLY WHEN ACCELERATING. THE PROBLEM OCCURS RANDOMLY, AND AT TIMES WILL NOT STALL AT ALL FOR SEVERAL DAYS, THEN STALL 10 TIMES IN ONE DAY. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FUEL LEVEL, FULL TANK FULL, HALF, OR EMPTY, RIGHT AFTER FILL-UPS, OR BEFORE. IT IS A RANDOM PROBLEM THAT CAN AND WILL OCCUR ANYTIME, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. THIS IS CERTAINLY A SAFETY ISSUE, AND WILL ULTIMATELY RESULT IN SOMEONE'S INJURY. I DRIVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T WITH THE 5.7L HEMI. IT HAS THE 19 GALLON FUEL TANK IN IT. THE TANK IS DEFECTIVE AS IT CAUSES THE CAR TO STALL SOON AFTER A FILL UP AND USUALLY IT'LL JUST STALL ANYTIME IT CHOOSES EVEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THE NHTSA AND CHRYSLER SETTLED THIS EARLIER THIS YEAR. WELL, I CALLED CHRYSLER CORP. ABOUT THIS AND THEY TRANSFERRED THE WARRANTY INTO MY NAME AND ASKED ME TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER ALL THAT WAS DONE, I GET A CALL FROM DODGE CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY TELL ME THAT THERE IS NO WARRANTY ON THE CAR SINCE IT WAS ORIGINALLY REGISTERED AND MADE FOR CANADA. THIS IS A VERY STUPID EXCUSE TO AVOID REPAIRING A PROBLEM THEY CAUSED. THEY ARE REFUSING TO REPAIR THEIR DEFECT AS PER THE TERMS THEY AGREED TO WITH THE NHTSA. VEHICLE JERKS WHILE DRIVING AS IF SOMETHING IS STARTING TO DIE OR GO OUT, THEN STARTS RUNNING AGAIN. ONLY APPEARS TO HAPPEN AFTER FILLING THE FUEL TANK TO COMPLETELY FULL. VEHICLE WILL STALL OUT WITHIN SEVERAL FEET AFTER FUELING UP, THEN RESTART AND YOU'RE GOOD TO GO. YOU DRIVE MAYBE AN EIGHTH OF A MILE AND AS YOU SLOW TO A STOP, THE CAR WILL STALL OUT AND DIE AGAIN. USUALLY FINE FOR THE REST OF THE EVENING. VEHICLE EVENTUALLY SHUTS OFF WHEN I COME TO A NEAR STOP OR AM STOPPED. OIL LAMP LIGHT TURNS ON WHEN THE CAR DIES. TRIED RESTARTING TWICE, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. TOOK THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION, THEN WAITED A FEW MINUTES. TRIED TO START THE ENGINE AGAIN AND WAS SUCCESSFUL. IT SEEMS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE LIKE THIS, BUT IT SEEMS I HAVE TO DRIVE LONG ENOUGH TO BURN OFF SOME GAS TO KEEP THE GAS TANK UNDER FULL AT ALL TIMES TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM. *TR

I CALLED THE CAR DEALER AND THEY DID IN FACT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THE FUEL TANK WILL BE REPLACED AT NO CHARGE. I HAVE NOW BEEN WAITING SEVERAL MONTHS FOR A GAS TANK. THE DEALERSHIP HAS STATED THAT THEY ARE NOT RECEIVING ANY FUEL TANKS. I NEED MY VEHICLE TO GET BACK AND FORTH TO SCHOOL. I CAN NOT GET A JOB BECAUSE I HAVE NO TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM. THIS IS REALLY PUT A HARDSHIP ON ME. I CALLED ANOTHER DEALERSHIP ONLY TO FIND THAT THEY ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. WHY ARE THERE NO TANKS BEING SENT TO THE DEALERSHIPS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM?
