I OWN A 2006 5.7 HEMI DODGE CHARGER. DURING MY TRIP INTO WORK MY ENGINE SHUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY IN PARK, SO I WENT THROUGH 4 CYCLES OF RESTARTING MY ENGINE. FINALLY I GOT THE CAR STARTED AND PROCEEDED DOWN MY STREET ONTO THE MAIN ROAD. AS I GAVE MY CAR GAS THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN AND I WENT THROUGH THE CYCLE AGAIN. I CALLED ONE OF THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIPS WHERE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLES AND THEY HAD NO COMPLAINTS ON THE PROBLEM. AS I DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP I GOT ON THE INTERSTATE AT THE SPEED OF 70MPH THE ENGINE WAS HESITATING AGAIN, BUT DID NOT FULLY SHUTDOWN. I AM SURE DODGE HAS HEARD THIS COMPLAINT FROM MULTIPLE OWNERS AND I FEEL DODGE SHOULD CORRECT THE ISSUE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE TRAVELING ON A BUSY ROAD. *TR
MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH WHEN I HAVE REFUELED, THE VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO START AND THEN RUNS EXTREMELY ROUGH AND USUALLY DIES ON THE ROAD ONCE OR TWICE. THE ENGINE SEEMS TO RUMBLE AND SHAKES THE VEHICLE AND THEN AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF DRIVING IT SEEMS TO GO AWAY. THE ENGINE LIGHT BLINKS ON AND OFF WHILE THIS SITUATION IS HAPPENING. MY MECHANIC HAS LOOKED THE PROBLEM OVER TWICE AND CANNOT SEEM TO DETERMINE WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. HE HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH DODGE/CHRYSLER AND THEY INDICATE NO OTHER REPORTED PROBLEMS. THE MECHANIC IS STILL CHECKING BUT SEEMS TO REMEMBER CHANGING A FUEL TANK ON A CHARGER IN THE PAST THAT WAS HAVING AN ENGINE PROBLEM AND IT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. HE IS RECHECKING HIS FILES TO FIND THAT REPAIR JOB. LAST NIGHT MY VEHICLE DIED TWICE IN MY DRIVEWAY (WITH LESS THAN HALF A TANK OF GAS) AND I CONSIDER IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT THIS POINT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE, AN ABNORMAL SOUND EMITTED FROM THE ENGINE, AND THE RPMS REVVED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT A BURNING ODOR EMITTED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.
AFTER FILLING UP WITH FUEL, CAR DIED AT A STOP LIGHT. RESTARTED WITH NO ISSUE, BUT THEN STALLED AGAIN IN THE INTERSECTION. WHILE IN THE SECOND STALL, ALMOST REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER DRIVER. CAR STARTED AGAIN WITH NO ISSUE. THIRD STALL AT ANOTHER STOP LIGHT AND THEN RESTARTED AND DROVE FINE UNTIL THE NEXT FUEL FILL UP. *TR
CAR WILL STALL WHILE DECELERATING ON FREEWAY AFTER FILLING UP THE CAR. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT IS KNOWN WITH CHRYSLER AND THEY HAVE EXTENDED THE TANK WARRANTY TO LIFETIME UNDER NVS-213KRH; PE13-106 THEY ARE STILL NOT COMMUNICATING TO THE DEALERS THAT THIS ISSUE EXISTS AND WHAT THE PROPER FIX IS. I ALSO CAN NOT GET THEM TO CONFIRM OR DENY THAT MY VIN IS PART OF THE GROUP OF CARS THAT THIS PROBLEM PERTAINS TO, HOWEVER I HAD THE SAME EXACT SYMPTOMS AS ALL OTHER DRIVES WITH THE CAR STOPPING AFTER REFUELING THE SYSTEM. THE DEALERSHIP TRIES TO BLAME THE CUSTOMER FOR 'OVER-FUELING' BUT I FIND IT RIDICULOUS THAT YOU CAN NOT FILL YOUR ENGINE TO FULL ( 7/8 OR ABOVE) WITHOUT THIS ISSUE HAPPENING. WHEN YOU BRING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SHOW RAW FUEL IN THE CANNISTER AND WANT TO TROUBLE SHOOT IT AS A CUSTOMER ERROR. SO FAR THIS ISSUE HAS COST ME $2500 (TANK, LABOR, RENTAL, 2 CANISTERS NOW) TO FIX ON MY OWN AND CHRYSLER AND THE DEALERSHIP ARE OF NO HELP. *TR
PE13-016, THIS ISSUE APPLIES TO MY CHARGER R/T AND ANYTIME I FILL UP MY GAS TANK THE CAR WILL STALL AT ANY SPEED. I'VE HAD THIS HAPPEN AT ANY SPEED FROM THE LOW SPEEDS MENTIONED TO AS HIGH AS 45 WHEN I WAS ACCELERATING AND I HAD SLOSHED THE GAS TANK. ANYWAY, I HAVE TALKED WITH MULTIPLE DODGE DEALERSHIPS AND THEY HAVE ALL TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT AND THAT THEY HAVE NOTHING IN THEIR SYSTEM THAT WOULD SHOW THEM MY CAR WAS AFFECTED. I FEEL THAT THIS IS CRAZY AND NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED. I HAVE A CAR THAT WILL KILL ITSELF AFTER ANY FILLUP AND I CAN'T GET THE MANUFACTURER TO OWN UP TO WHAT THEY PROMISED. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
VEHICLE STALLED AFTER REFUELING, IN TRAFFIC. *JS
TIRES HAVE STRESS CRACKS ABOUT 1-INCH FROM WHERE THE TIRE IS MOUNTED TO THE RIM AND IT GOES ALL THE WAY AROUND MY TIRES. SCARED THAT THE TIRE MAY BE DEFECTED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER RT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. ADDITIONALLY, GASOLINE WOULD SPORADICALLY SPILL FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CHECK VALVE WAS CAUSING AN OVERFLOW CONDITION. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CHECK VALVE, EVAPORATION CANISTER AND THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90000. ..UPDATED 05-09-14 *BF .. ..UPDATED 05/15/14 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE STALLED AT A HIGHWAY SPEED, AND ANOTHER INSTANCE OF FUEL SPILLING FROM THE TANK DURING FILL-UP RESULTING IN A SPILL AT THE GAS PUMP/ THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS FORCED TO STOP RE-FUELING AT ABOUT 15-18 GALLONS TO AVOID THE SITUATION. AFTER FILLING THE CAR WITH GAS (FULL TANK), AND LEAVING THE STATION, THE CAR SHUTS COMPLETELY OFF. *TR
AFTER FUELING MY DODGE CHARGER, I DROVE DOWN THE ROAD FROM THE GAS STATION AND MY CAR STALLED. IT STARTED A FEW ATTEMPTS LATER. THIS IS THE 5TH TIME IT HAS OCCURRED. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER SRT-8, AFTER A FILL-UP AT THE GAS STATION TODAY AS I PROCEEDED OUT OF THE GAS STATION I NOTICED MY CAR STARTED TO SPUTTER AS I WAS COMING ACROSS A BRIDGE. AS I CAME OFF THE BRIDGE MY CAR STARTED TO SPUTTER EVEN MORE AND FINALLY AS I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT THE CAR JUST STALLED. I RE CRANKED THE CAR NOT SURE OF WHAT WAS GOING ON AND PROCEEDED DOWN TO MY MILITARY INSTALLATION GATE ENTRANCE. AS I APPROACH THE GATE GUARD THE CAR JUST STALLS AGAIN RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MORNING TRAFFIC. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY HAVING A STALLED CAR AT THE ENTRANCE OF A MILITARY BASE. I RECRANKED THE CAR AGAIN AND PROCEEDED TO WORK AND AS I WAS GOING TO PARK THE CAR IT JUST SHUT OFF IN THE PARKING LOT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SAFETY RELATED PROBLEMS AND DESERVES A TRUE INVESTIGATION. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE UNPREDICTABLE SO I WILL NOT DRIVE THE CAR WITH MY CHILDREN IN IT ANYMORE; I DO NOT FEEL LIKE THE CAR IS SAFE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, WHICH WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS, CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY, REPLACED THE PLUGS FOR THE POWER CONTROL MODULE, AND CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
WITHIN BLOCKS OF LEAVING A FUEL STATION AND FILLING WITH FUEL THE VEHICLE STUMBLED THEN THE ENGINE DIED WHILE TRAVELING 35 MPH ON A CITY STREAM IN THE RAIN. CAR WAS DIFFICULT TO STOP BECAUSE OF NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES. *TR
EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE GAS TANK IS FILLED, THE ENGINE STALLS SHORTLY AFTER DRIVING AWAY. IT REQUIRES SEVERAL CRANKS OF THE ENGINE TO GET STARTED AGAIN. AFTER THE ENGINE IS RESTARTED, DRIVING /IDLE IS ROUGH FOR SOME AMOUNT OF TIME BEFORE RETURNING TO NORMAL. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS THE CAR STALLS ON ME IN TRAFFIC AND MERGING ON TO THE FREEWAY AFTER FILLING UP AT ANY GAS STATION. *TR
THE CAR SUDDENLY STALLED AND ENGINE TURNED OFF. THE STEERING WAS LOCKED AND WAS UNABLE TO MOVE. I WAS TURNING INTO MY SUBDIVISION WHEN SUDDENLY THIS HAPPENED. I WAS PROBABLY AROUND 5 MPH. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO CAR BEHIND ME. I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND START IT AND DRIVE HOME WITHOUT ISSUE. THE SECOND TIME IT GOT STALLED WHEN THE SAME DAY I HAD TO TAKE MY SON TO ONE OF HIS CLASS. WHEN I WAS STOPPED AT THE LIGHT, THE CAR STALLED. THIS TIME IT TOOK FEW TRIES TO GET THE CAR STARTED. ONCE IT STARTED, THE RPM WAS FLUCTUATING AS IF IT WAS STARVING FOR FUEL. SINCE OTHER COMPLAINS HAVE REFERENCES TO THIS HAPPENING AFTER FILLING UP GAS, I WANT TO MENTIONED THAT I HAD FILLED THE GAS THE DAY BEFORE AND I MUST HAVE DROVE 20 OR SO MILES BEFORE THIS HAPPENED FIRST TIME. *TR
ON THE LAST 2 OCCASIONS OF FILLING OUR VEHICLE WITH GAS THE CAR WILL PURGE AND STALL, LOOSING ALL POWER. I HAPPENS FOR A COUPLE DAYS AND THEN GOES AWAY. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY CANNOT FIND ANY CODES, THEY ALSO TOLD US DO NOT FILL THE TANK. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE ANYMORE. I HAVE NOT BEEN FILLING THE TANK AND SO FAR SO GOOD BUT NOT THE ANSWER. ITS VERY SCARY TO JUST STALL AFTER FILLING YOUR CAR WITH GAS AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO. I NEED HELP.. *TR

I WAS GOING DOWN THE HIGH WAY AND THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF AND THEN CAME BACK ON LIKE NOTHING HAPPEN THEY REALLY NEED TO RECALL THIS AND IT A HEMI 5.7 DAYTONA. *TR
ENGINE STALLS AFTER FILING UP WITH GAS. IT HAPPENS AT LOW RPM TYPICALLY WHEN APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP. ONCE DRIVING FOR A WHILE IT STOPS HAPPENING. MOST TIMES IT WILL RESTART RIGHT AWAY. ON ONE OCCURRENCE I WAS STUCK ON A VERY BUSY ROAD WITH TRUCK TRAFFIC AND IT WOULD NOT START FOR A FEW MINUTES. THIS HAPPENED ONCE TO ME IN THE PAST BUT NOW IT'S HAPPENING AFTER EVERY FILL UP. *TR
AFTER REFUELING, THE CAR STALLED OUT NUMEROUS TI ES WHILE ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. VERY LUCKY THAT I WASN'T HIT. *TR
THE FIRST TIME MY WIFES 2006 DODGE CHARGER CAR SHUT OFF/STALLED AFTER WE FILLED UP THE CAR, I THOUGHT IT MAY HAVE BEEN SOME BAD FUEL. BUT NO WAY - AS I HAVE FILLED THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES NOW AND THE SAME THING HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF WHERE WE GET THE FUEL. LAST NIGHT, I FILLED THE 2006 DODGE CHARGER GAS TANK ON A TRIP AND WAS GETTING BACK ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR STALLED....LOST POWER STEERING, ETC...HAD TO QUICKLY PLACE IN NEUTRAL AND RESTART...THEN PUT INTO DRIVE AND IT WAS OKAY FOR A FEW MOMENTS. THEN THE CAR STARTED SPUTTERING AND STALLED AGAIN. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE INTESTATE 75 AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. HAD A HARD TIME CRANKING IT, BUT THEN IT DID CRANK. I STARTED TO PULL OFF AND IT STALLED AGAIN. AFTER THE 3RD TIME I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DOWN THE HIGHWAY FOR ABOUT 2 MILES AND IT STARTED SPUTTERING. IT DID THIS ABOUT 4-5 TIMES AND THEN RAN OKAY. I DROVE ON HOME, WHICH WAS ABOUT 40 MILES AND FIGURED THAT THE STALLING PROBLEM WAS BEHIND US (AT LEAST WE FILL UP AGAIN). THIS MORNING MY WIFE TOOK THE CAR TO GO TO THE GYM AND SHE HAD TO TURN AROUND AS THE CAR KEPT STALLING. IT IS DEFINITELY WORSE RIGHT AFTER THE CAR IS FILLED UP WITH FUEL, AND SOMETIMES IT SHUTS OFF IN THE GAS STATION PARKING LOT. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 DODGE DAYTONA R/T CHARGER. IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR, WITH ~185K THOUSAND MILES ON THE CAR, IT BEGAN STALLING AFTER FUELING. THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY DIE AND CAUSES LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES, AND IS OFTEN DIFFICULT TO RESTART. THIS IS CAUSING EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITIONS, AS IT OCCURS WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND/OR MOVING THROUGH INTERSECTIONS. BECAUSE THE CAR SUDDENLY STALLS, YOU ARE LEFT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET AND AT TIMES, FAST-MOVING TRAFFIC AND UNABLE TO START THE CAR TO MOVE IT OUT OF THE WAY. *TR
AFTER I STOP AND FILL MY GAS TANK, MY CAR WILL STALL AND SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED LEAVEN THE GAS STATION BECAUSE THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF ON ME. THIS WILL ONLY AFTER I FILL MY GAS TANK TO FULL. *TR
CAR WILL STALL AT IDLE OR WHEN STARTING TO ACCELERATE CAR WILL CUT OFF BY IT SELF AND THEN RESTART. *TR
AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE STALLS AND WILL SOMETIMES DIE. IT WILL CONTINUE TO STALL OFF AND ON FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES AND THE ENGINE HAS THE TENDENCY TO COMPLETELY DIE WHILE SLOWING DOWN FOR RED LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS. THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED AFTER REFUELING AND HAPPENS EVERY TIME. *TR
I HAD JUST FILLED MY GAS TANK AND PULLED ON TO A BUSY ROAD. AS I APPROACHED THE STOPLIGHT THE VEHICLE JUST DIED. IT DID NOT START RIGHT BACK UP , IT TOOK 3 DIFFERENT TRIES. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED 4 TIMES. ALL TIMES WERE AFTER I FILLED UP AT THE GAS STATION. *TR
MY CAR STALLS AFTER REFUELING THE TANK. IT DOES IT AT STOPS AND SLOWING SPEEDS. IT HAS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF TURNS ETC. I T HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO CRASH. I WENT TO MY MECHANIC WHO IN TURN SAID I NEEDED AN ENTIRE FUEL TANK $1700. WHILE DEBATING ON THE HAVING IT FIXED OF COURSE CHECKING MY FINANCES. I WENT ON LINE AND SEEN NUMEROUS ARTICLES ABOUT THIS ISSUE. IN THE ARTICLES YOU GUYS ARE MENTIONED FOR HAVING DONE A FEDERAL PROBE INTO THE SITUATION AND CHRYSLER EXTENDING A WARRANTY ON THE PROBLEM TO LIFE TIME. WELL THEN I WENT TO THE DEALER AND BROUGHT IT TO THEIR ATTENTION AND NOBODY KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THEY CHARGED ME $65 TO DIAGNOSE THE CAR AND PROCEEDED TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF $1900. THEY THEN GAVE ME THE NUMBER TO CHRYSLER WHO IN TURN KNEW NOTHING OF THE PROBLEM AND SENT ME ON MY WAY SAYING THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM AND NO WARRANTY. I NEED TO KNOW IF IN FACT THIS IS A LEGITIMATE CLAIM BY THE NHTSA IN THE ARTICLES OUT THERE. SOME OF THESE ARTICLES ARE AS RECENT AS OF FEBRUARY 2014. I HAVE ALMOST HAD TWO ACCIDENTS FROM THIS ISSUE. IT HAS TAKEN NUMEROUS SCENARIOS TO TROUBLE SHOOT THIS AND WHEN READING THE ARTICLES BROUGHT EVERYTHING TO LIGHT. PLEASE HELP. THE ARTICLES MENTION 2006 CHRYSLER 300,DODGE CHARGER, & DODGE MAGNUM WITH V8 5.7 & 6.1LITER ENGINES. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE. *TR

THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN, IF THIS DOES HAPPEN AS I AM GOING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION WITH A LOSS OF BRAKES OR STEERING, IT COULD EASILY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT AND INJURY. *JS
2006 DODGE SRT8 6.1 REPEATEDLY STALLS AFTER FILLING WITH GASOLINE. VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO START AFTER. CAR SPUTTERS AT SPEED FOR FIRST 30 MILES ON FULL TANK. *TR
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE IT WILL SHUT OFF UNEXPECTEDLY AND ABRUPTLY LOCKING UP POWER STEERING. IT IS APRIL 2014 AND THE PROBLEM IS NOT LISTED IN THE DODGE WEBSITE. DEALERSHIPS ARE NOT AWARE EITHER. I JUST TALKED TO DODGE AND MY CAR DOES NOT FALL UNDER THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY. FROM THE GAS STATION TO MY HOME IS ABOUT 10MIN AND IN THAT SHORT TIME FRAME THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY STALLED 4 TIMES! THIS WENT ON FOR A FEW DAYS UNTIL MY FUEL LVL WAS ABOUT 3/4 FULL? AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE ON DODGE FORUMS I WAS ABLE TO FIND OUT WHAT MAY AND MOST LIKELY BE THE ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE. SOME SAY ITS A COLLAPSED GAS TANK WHICH AFFECTS A CHECK VALVE IN THE GAS TANK THAT IS FOR THE EVAP SYSTEM. WHEN YOU HAVE A FULL TANK AND THE SYSTEM OPENS UP TO RELEASE GAS VAPORS BACK INTO THE ENGINE IT'S ACTUALLY SENDING RAW FUEL BACK INTO THE ENGINE WHICH IN TURN FLOODS THE VEHICLE AND CAUSES THE STALL. OF COURSE THIS PART CAN'T BE REPLACED OR FIXED SINCE THE TANK AND THOSE PARTS ARE SOLD AS ONE PIECE WHICH IS BIG $$$! MY ONLY FIX FOR THIS UNTIL THIS IS RECALLED IS I DON'T GET A FULL TANK ANYMORE. AFTER FUELING CAR FOR A TRIP, WHILE IN PARK THE IDLE SPEED INCREASED THEN THE CAR STALLED. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART BUT WHILE PULLING INTO THE STREET THE CAR STALLED AGAIN. LUCKILY IT STARTED BUT WHEN I PULLED UP TO THE RED LIGHT IT STALLED AGAIN AND TOOK 3-4 ATTEMPTS TO GET THE CAR RUNNING AGAIN, IT WOULD TURN OVER AND THEN DIE. FINALLY I GOT THE CAR STARTED AND WITHOUT ANY ADDITIONAL STOPS IN MY ROUTE I MADE IT HOME WITH NO OTHER PROBLEMS. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP (DIDN'T SEEM TO HAVE ANY PROBLEMS) YESTERDAY AND TODAY I WAS TOLD I NEED TO HAVE THE FUEL TANK REPLACED, THE "BROKEN" GAUGE CAN NOT BE REPLACED. I HAVE HAD 2 ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR LOSING POWER WHEN ACCELERATING ONTO THE FREEWAY IN THE LAST MONTH, BOTH AFTER FUEL UPS, BUT THE CAR HAD NEVER STALLED UNTIL RECENTLY. SEEMS VERY COSTLY, BUT MORE DANGEROUS! I FEEL IT SHOULD BE RECALLED BY DODGE DUE TO QUANTITY OF SAME COMPLAINTS! *TR

DODGE SAYS THE SENSOR IN THE GAS TANK IS FAULTY AND CAUSES THE SYSTEM TO SUCK GAS BACKWARDS THROUGH THE VAPOR RECOVERY LINES AND DEPOSIT IT INTO THE ENGINE, FLOODING THE CAR. ALL POWER IS LOST TO POWER STEERING, BRAKES, AND DRIVE TRAIN. IF YOU ARE TURNING WHEN THIS HAPPENS, IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND WILL CAUSE A CRASH. TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP AND DODGE/CHRYSLER ACKNOWLEDGE THE DANGER (I HAVE THE EMAILS TO PROVE IT). THE PART CAN BE REPLACED, BUT DODGE ONLY SELLS THE ENTIRE GAS TANK AS AN ASSEMBLY, CAUSING INCREASED COST ON THOSE OF US THAT EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM. WE ALL ASKING YOU (THE GOVERNMENT) TO HELP KEEP US AND OUR FAMILIES SAFE BY REQUESTING DODGE RECALL VEHICLES AND REPLACE THIS DEFECTIVE DESIGN. THERE IS NO WAY A SIMPLE VAPOR RECOVERY SENSOR INSIDE THE GAS TANK SHOULD CAUSE THE GASOLINE TO FLOW THE WRONG DIRECTION, RESULTING IN A STALL THAT PRODUCES COMPLETE LOSS OF CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE. IT IS WORSE WHEN PERFORMING TURNS (U-TURNS) OR AT TURNS. THIS IS A DANGER TO PEDESTRIANS, AS THE DRIVER DOES NOT EXPECT SUDDEN LOSS OF ALL POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. IT'S A DEFECTIVE DESIGN (ADMITTED BY DODGE) THAT CAUSES GASOLINE TO BE SUCKED UP IN THE WRONG DIRECTION, FLOODING THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WITH EXCESS FUEL.
