THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN FLAWLESS SINCE PURCHASED NEW IN 2006. IN NOV. 2013 IT STALLED WHEN BACKING OUT OF THE GARAGE. RESTARTED VEHICLE AND WAS FINE FOR 5 MILES THEN STALLED AGAIN. EVER SINCE THEN THE PROBLEM HAS INCREASED IN FREQUENCY AND ALMOST CAUSED MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE VEHICLE STALLING WHEN CROSSING INTERSECTIONS OR MERGING ONTO HIGHWAYS. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THIS CAR IN MONTHS DUE TO THIS AS IT IS NOT SAFE FOR ME OR OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. I HAVE SPENT CLOSE TO $2,000.00 IN MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO FIX THIS VEHICLE FOLLOWING REPAIR MANUAL PROCEDURES VIA THE DEALER. I HAVE HAD THE PCM, REPLACED TWICE (FIRST ONE WAS DEFECTIVE RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX), TCM REPLACED, BATTERY REPLACED, THROTTLE BODY REPLACED, MAP SENSOR REPLACED, ASD RELAY REPLACED AND SPARK PLUGS REPLACED WITH ZERO IMPROVEMENTS. I USED TO ENJOY THIS VEHICLE AND NOW IT IS A DEATH TRAP WITH THE WAY IT IS BEHAVING. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE AS THERE ARE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF THESE VEHICLES ON THE ROAD EXHIBITING THE SAME SYMPTOMS AND DEALER TECHS UNABLE TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR THEM. *TR
EVERY TIME I FUEL UP MT CHARGER R/T, IT STALLS WHEN I AM STOPPED. IT HAS HAPPENED THE LAST 3 TIMES I HAVE FUELED MY CAR. NO LIGHTS COME ON IN DASH, NOR ANY WARNINGS. SOMETIMES IT WILL JUST SPUTTER WHEN I GO TO TAKE OFF. AFTER A DAY IT GOES BACK TO NORMAL. *TR
2006 DODGE CHARGER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED CORROSION WAS THE REASON, THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS BROKE OFF UNEXPECTEDLY. THE CONSUMER STATED HER VEHICLE HAD 2 REAR TIRE BLOW OUTS DUE TO THE SENSORS BREAKING OFF. ONE OF THE BLOW OUTS OCCURRED IN NOVEMBER 2013, WHILE HER SON WAS DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE RAIN. THE SECOND BLOW OUT OCCURRED IN MARCH 2014. THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS WERE REPLACED 5 TIMES. *JB
I NOTICE THAT NUMEROUS 2006 DODGE CHARGERS HAVE HAD PRE MATURE ENGINE FAILURE. NUMEROUS OF THEM HAVE A "DROPPED VALVE". I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER THAT HAS BEEN EXTREMELY WELL MAINTAINED AND HAD THE SAME ISSUE. I DROVE MY VEHICLE WHICH WAS RUNNING FINE WITH NO ISSUES AND PARKED IT AT THE STORE. WHEN I FINISHED AT THE STORE, I RETURNED TO MY VEHICLE, GOT IN AND I ATTEMPTED TO START IT AT WHICH TIME THE ENGINE MADE A HORRIFIC NOISE AS IF IT WAS GOING TO FALL APART OR EXPLODE. I SHUT IT DOWN IMMEDIATELY. WHITE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE TAILPIPE SO I HAD IT TOWED TO A SHOP WHERE I WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. I HAD IT TOWED BACK TO MY HOME. I CALLED DODGE IN 2013 AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD NOT HEARD OF SUCH A PROBLEM AND THAT I SHOULD TAKE IT TO A SHOP. THE VEHICLE SAT (UNDRIVABLE) FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS AS I WAS TOLD BY A DEALERSHIP THAT REPAIRS COULD AMOUNT TO ALMOST 7000.00. I HAVE FINALLY TAKEN IT TO A LOCAL SHOP AND AFTER COMPRESSION TESTING AND HEAD REMOVAL, IT WAS DETERMINED THE SAME THING HAPPENED AS IN THE REPORTS I HAVE READ, WHICH IS A DROPPED VALVE IN CYLINDER 6. I CONTACTED DODGE ONCE AGAIN WITH NO ANSWERS OR ASSISTANCE. IN REVIEW OF THE EXISTING COMPLAINTS, I NOTICE THAT THE 11TH DIGIT OF THE VIN IS THE SAME WITH MOST OF THE COMPLAINTS THAT CONTAIN A VIN NUMBER. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW IN THE HEAD THAT IS CAUSING THIS MALFUNCTION WHICH IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHEN VEHICLES DIE AND QUIT RUNNING FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND WITHOUT WARNING. HAD I HAVE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IT COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. HOW DOES THIS GET INVESTIGATED, AND HOW MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE TO BE GENERATED TO HAVE DODGE LOOK INTO THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT CAUSING SAFETY ISSUES? I HAVE PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE VALVE SEAT BUT I AM HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME UPLOADING. I CAN E-MAIL THEM ON REQUEST
ON 10/30/13 MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER STALLED ON A MAJOR STREET WITHOUT ANY WARNING. I HAD JUST FILLED THE GAS TANK AND WAS DRIVING BACK TO WORK. I HAD REACHED A SPEED SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 40-50 WHEN THE CAR JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AND PULL INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT AND SHUT IT OFF. I WAS SHAKEN BY THE EVENT, AFTER COLLECTING MY THOUGHTS I TRIED TO RE-START THE CAR THINKING IF I LET IT IDLE FOR A BIT IT MIGHT BE ALRIGHT. THE CAR RAN MOMENTARILY THEN SORT OF CHOKED AND JOLTED THEN DIED. I TRIED ONCE MORE BUT TO NO AVAIL THEN HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE. THEY CALLED THE FOLLOWING DAY STATING THAT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT AND WE COULD PICK IT UP. THIS SAME SCENARIO HAPPENED TWICE BEFORE ABOUT THIS SAME TIME LAST YEAR ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. STALLING SEVERAL TIMES AT VARIOUS SPEEDS IN BOTH INCIDENCES. EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS I HAVE JUST FILLED THE TANK USING PREMIUM FUEL. I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AND HE DIDN'T SEEM TO BE AWARE OF A PROBLEM. I TOLD HIM THERE ARE CURRENTLY 54 CLAIMS ALL WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND THERE DEFINITELY IS A PROBLEM AND I PRAY THAT SOMEONE FINDS A SOLUTION BEFORE SOME IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE IN MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER. *TR
ON 10/30/13 AT APPROX 9:30AM I REFUELED MY '06 DODGE CHARGER 5.7L HEMI RT/DAYTONA EDITION @THE GAS STATION W/89-OCTANE FUEL. AS I PULLED OUT OF THE STATION @UNDER 15MPH, MY CAR STALLED-ENGINE DIED, OIL LIGHT & BELL APPEARED, & STEERING LOCKED UP. IT TOOK 2-ATTEMPTS THE 1ST TIME TO RESTART IT W/ IT ACTING LIKE THE ENGINE HAD FLOODED. I DROVE APPROX. 2-BLOCKS & IT AGAIN STALLED (INCLUDING ALL OF THE ABOVE) AS I WAS SLOWING FOR A STOPLIGHT. IT TOOK 2-3 ATTEMPTS TO RESTART. I DROVE APPROX 1-1/2BLOCKS, INCLUDING A SLIGHT INCLINE, TO A STOPLIGHT WHERE IT AGAIN STALLED, THOUGH THIS TIME IMMEDIATELY RESTARTED. AFTER DRIVING 3-BLOCKS MORE, AS I SLOWED FOR A STOPLIGHT IT AGAIN BEGAN TO SPUTTER & BUCK AS THOUGH GOING TO STALL; I CONT'D TO BRAKE BUT MAINTAINED PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR ATTEMPTING TO MAINTAIN RPMS & OIL PRESSURE; HOWEVER AS I TURNED THE CORNER IT AGAIN STALLED & TOOK 4-ATTEMPTS TO RESTART. AFTER SITTING FOR 15MINS I HAD NO OTHER ISSUES THIS DATE. TODAY(11/25/13) I REFUELED & EXPERIENCED THE SPUTTERING, BUCKING, STALLING, ENGINE DYING, OIL LIGHT, ZERO OIL PSI, ETC W/ 10-FULL STALLS(ENGINE FAILURE EPISODES) IN LESS THAN 20-MINS. AFTER ALLOWING IT TO SIT FOR 2+ HOURS THE ENGINE DIDN'T FULLY DIE BUT DID BUCK SEVERAL TIMES ON THE DRIVE HOME. THERE WAS AT LEAST 1 ADD'L DAY BETWEEN 10/30/13 & 11/25/13 THAT I EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEMS. ALL STALLS HAVE HAPPENED AT 35MPH OR LESS. PRIOR TO THE PROBLEMS AFTER REFUELING, I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS FILLING THE GAS TANK. I ATTEMPTED TO REFUEL THE CAR & THE AUTO PUMP SHUTOFF ENGAGED AFTER LESS THAN 1/2-GAL ENTERING THE TANK; THE AUTO PUMP SHUTOFF WOULD ENGAGE 3-5XS PER REFUEL & REQUIRED MULTIPLE READJUSTMENTS OF THE PUMP NOZZLE TO FILL MY GAS TANK. I HAVEN'T HAD THE CAR IN FOR DIAGNOSTICS B/C OF THE NEG REPORTS ON THE FORUMS INDICATING DIAGNOSTICS SHOW NO DISCERNIBLE PROBLEMS. SOUNDS LIKE TSB#1803015 TO ME. *TR
MY CAR STALLED LESS THAN 1 MILE AFTER PULLING OUT OF A GAS STATION AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS. IT TOOK SEVERAL TRIES TO RESTART BEFORE SUCCESSFULLY ABLE TO DRIVE AGAIN. I THOUGHT BAD GAS. BUT IT NOW HAPPENS EVERY TIME AFTER I FILL MY TANK FULL OF GAS. MY CAR'S RPMS WILL SPUTTER FOR THE FIRST COUPLE MILES AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS. IT ALSO STALLS EVERY TIME DRIVING WITHIN THE FIRST 2 MILES OF FILLING UP WITH GAS. IT IS VERY SCARY DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR AND FEARING THAT MY CAR WILL STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT. THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR DIAGNOSTIC CODES FOR THIS. JUST THE OIL LIGHT COMES ON AND THE ENGINE DIES, POWER STEERING FAILS, AND ABS ARE NOT WORKING. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP THE CAR AND PULLED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY OF THE GAS STATION HAD APPROACHED THE INTERSECTION MAKING A LEFT TURN THE OIL LIGHT WENT ON AND VEHICLE DIED SUDDENLY. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO GET REPAIRS, WAS TOLD AT FIRST IT WAS THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR. WHEN REPLACED THE ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON WITH A CODE READING THE OIL PRESSURE SENOR LOW VOLTAGE. NOW THEY WANT TO REPLACE THE CONNECTOR/HARNESS THAT I WAS TOLD CHRYSLER-DODGE NO LONGER MAKES THAT PART. VERY COSTLY REPAIR. *TR
SHORTLY AFTER FILLING UP THE GAS TANK THE CAR STALLED REPEATEDLY WHEN STOPPING. *TR
I JUST FINISHED REFUELING ALMOST TO FULL. VEHICLE STARTED PERFECTLY. DROVE APPROXIMATELY 2 BLOCKS AT 15 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND SHUT OFF. IT TOOK 3 ATTEMPTS TO RESTART. I DROVE APPROXIMATELY 4 MORE BLOCKS AT 15 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND SHUT OFF AGAIN. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE REPAIR SHOP THAT I USE. THE MECHANIC AT THE SHOP DROVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SHUT OFF 2 TIMES WHILE THE MECHANIC DROVE IT. VEHICLE WAS SCANNED FOR CODES. NO CODES WERE DISPLAYED. THE MECHANIC CLEANED OUT THE THROTTLE BODY. VEHICLE HAS BEEN OPERATING PERFECT SINCE THAT TIME. ONE OTHER NOTE. ONE MONTH PRIOR, WITH 3/4 TANK OF FUEL, FUEL GAUGE SUDDENLY DROPPED TO EMPTY AND CHIMING SOUND BEGAN RINGING FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS. VEHICLE DID NOT STALL OR SHUT OFF. FUEL GAUGE THEN SUDDENLY RETURNED TO 3/4 FULL AND CHIMING SOUND STOPPED RINGING. *TR
AFTER FILLING MY TANK I DROVE AWAY FROM THE STATION AND MY CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT TOOK A FEW ATTEMPTS BEFORE MY VEHICLE ACTUALLY STARTED AGAIN. I DROVE DOWN THE ROAD TOWARDS MY HOUSE AND IT STALLED ON ME AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS A LITTLE FASTER TO TURN ON THE VEHICLE BUT IT STUTTERED ALL THE WAY HOME. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL MY TANK. TO BE SURE OF THE ISSUE I RAN MY GAS TANK TO HALF TANK AND REFILLED IT. THE SAME STALLING OUTCOME WAS PRESENT. I RECENTLY TOOK MY CAR IN FOR REPAIR OF THIS ISSUE BUT AFTER THE REPAIR IT CONTINUED WITH THE STALLING. AFTER THIS HAPPENED TO ME ON MONDAY MARCH 18, 2014 WHILE MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE VEHICLE I DECIDED TO GO BACK AND GET IT LOOKED AT AGAIN BY THE DEALER. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY (MARCH 19, 2014) AT THE DEALER FOR THE SECOND TIME TO TRY AND GET THIS ISSUE FIXED. I SEE ON YOUR WEBSITE THAT NHTSA ACTION NUMBER : PE13016 HAS BEEN FILED FOR THIS IDENTICAL ISSUE THAT I AM HAVING. I CALLED CHRYSLER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD GIVE ME THE LETTER TO OWNER FOR EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE GAS TANK AND I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD NOT GET IT BECAUSE MY CAR DOES NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE, YET MY CAR IS AT THE DEALER RIGHT NOW GETTING THIS SAME ISSUE FIXED. AS USUAL I FEEL THAT CHRYSLER IS TRYING TO IGNORE THE ISSUE AND NOT GIVE SUPPORT TO THOSE WHO HAVE PURCHASED THEIR PRODUCT. MY DEALER HAS BEEN HELPFUL BUT THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT COVER ME UNDER THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY UNLESS IT APPEARED WITH MY VIN # IN THE CHRYSLER SYSTEM. THIS ISSUE IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE FUELING UP NEAR A HIGHWAY AND THEN GETTING ONTO THE HIGHWAY. WHILE CHRYSLER CLAIMS THAT THIS IS LOW RISK TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY IT IS HIGH RISK TO HUMAN SAFETY. WE CAN REPLACE CARS, WE CAN NOT REPLACE PEOPLE. ALL I ASK FOR IS REIMBURSEMENT FOR A MANUFACTURE DEFECT OR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. *TR
CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING RIGHT AFTER FUEL FILL UP. *TR
CAR STALLS AND CUTS OFF AFTER REFUELING. I ALWAYS PUT 89 OCTANE OR HIGHER GASOLINE IN MY VEHICLE. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE YOU CAN GET RAMMED FROM BEHIND WHEN IN TRAFFIC I.E. WASHINGTON, DC AREA THE BUSIEST STREETS IN AMERICA. THE DEALER SUGGESTED THE CONSUMER SPEND $1800 TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK. UPDATED 02/06/14
THIS IS A BRAND NEW ENGINE PUT IN BY DODGE AND HAS ONLY 3000 MILES SINCE IT WAS REPLACED 4 MONTHS AGO. I FILLED UP THE GAS TANK TODAY AND WITHIN A MINUTE OF PULLING AWAY FROM GAS STATION AS I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE ENGINE CEASES AND STOPS. I TRIED TO RE START IT DIDN'T START RIGHT AWAY. AFTER 2 TRIES IT STARTED AND ABOUT A MINUTE LATER AS I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES TO TURN LEFT THE CAR STALLS OUT AGAIN. *TR
IT STATED IN OCTOBER, I FILLED UP MY GAS TANK AND WAS DRIVING HOME AND THE CAR STALLED OUT WHEN COMING TO A STOP. DID THINK ANYTHING OF IT AND RESTARTED MY CAR, GOT TO MY HOUSE AND I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO TURN IN IT STALLED OUT AGAIN. WAITED FOR ABOUT 15MINS AND WENT OUT AND STARTED THE CAR IN THE GARAGE STARTED THE CAR AND LET IT RUN AND AS IT RAN IT DIED WHILE IN IDLE. I WAS GLAD I WAS ONLY A MILE FROM MY HOME AND VERY LITTLE TRAFFIC AT THE TIME, WITH THE LOSE OF POWER TO THE CAR I COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I DO NOT FILL THE TANK ALL THE WAY SINCE ITS THE ONLY TIME THIS HAPPENS. I HAVE FILLED UP MY CAR ONLY ONE MORE TIME AFTER THAT TO SEE IF IT WAS CONSISTENT, AND IT WAS. IT HAPPENS AT IDLE AND WHEN SLOWING DOWN CITY SPEEDS. I WILL NOT GET ON THE HIGHWAY FOR MY SAFETY AND OTHERS. I HAVE NOT DRIVE MY CAR UNLESS IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP GAS TANK, WITHOUT OVER FILLING BY ROUNDING OFF, THE CAR WILL STALL OUT WITHIN 1/4 MILE OF RUNNING. IT TAKES TIME CRANKING ENGINE TO START, THEN WILL BUCK AND STALL OCCASIONALLY UNTIL IT IS DRIVEN AT LEAST 2-3 MILES. ALL POWER STEERING AND BRAKES ARE LOST AT THIS TIME AS WELL. *TR
ENGINE STALLED OUT WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS. THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS DROPPED VALVE SEATS, 8/2011 AND 9/2013. *TR
THIS HAS BEEN AN ON-GOING PROBLEM THAT WE'VE BEEN CHASING FOR SEVERAL YEARS. THE CAR WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING, USUALLY WITHOUT WARNING SOMETIMES THE GAUGES WILL DROP AND THE WARNING "DING" WILL SOUND. MOST OF THE TIME THE CAR WILL RESTART, HOWEVER THERE HAS BEEN INSTANCES THAT IT HAS TO SIT FOR AWHILE BEFORE RESTARTING. IN ANY CASE, IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN SINCE IT WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING. I'VE HAD IT HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY AS WELL AS ON CITY STREETS. THERE ARE TIMES IN WHICH WE HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR MULTIPLE TIMES IN ORDER TO GET THE GAUGES AND HEADLIGHTS TO TURN ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE TAIL LIGHTS, AND BRAKE LIGHTS DON'T WORK EITHER. IT IS CLEAR THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THESE CARS, I HOPE DODGE TAKES CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS AND RESOLVES THE ISSUES THAT ARE OCCURRING BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. *TR
AFTER FILLING THE CAR WITH GAS, AND DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 1 TO 2 MILES, THE CAR STALLED AFTER MAKING A LEFT TURN AND STARTING TO ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND DRIVE HOME. THE NEXT DAY THE CAR ACTED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL AGAIN AFTER MAKING A TURN AND STARTING TO ACCELERATE, BUT IT DIDN'T. THIS PROBLEM STARTED IN DECEMBER OF 2012 WHEN THE CAR HAD ABOUT 40000 MILES ON IT. AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET, I STOPPED TOPPING OFF THE GAS TANK AND THE PROBLEM DID NOT RE-OCCUR UNTIL OCTOBER 2013. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE AND EVEN IF I DON'T FILL THE GAS TANK, THE CAR WILL STALL AFTER DRIVING IT A FEW MILES. FORTUNATELY, EVERY TIME THE CAR STALLED I WAS TURNING ON TO A QUIET STREET WITH LITTLE TRAFFIC, BUT THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT REQUIRES A RECALL FROM DODGE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MECHANIC STATED THE PISTON HAD FAILED CAUSING THE ENGINE HEAD TO FRACTURE. THE MECHANIC STATED THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.

1ST INCIDENT: ON OCTOBER 4, 2013, MY CAR STALLED COMING TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT LESS THAN AN 1/8TH OF A MILE AFTER LEAVING A GAS STATION AFTER A FILL UP. AFTER 3 ATTEMPTS TO START ENGINE, IT STARTED UP. 1/2 A MILE AWAY, THE ENGINE DIES AT THE NEXT RED LIGHT STOP. 3-4 ATTEMPTS TO START CAR, IT STARTED. CAR RAN ROUGH/SPUTTERED ON MY WAY TO MY HOUSE 1.5 MILES AWAY. 2ND INCIDENT: ON JANUARY 10, 2014, MY CAR STALLED COMING TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT 1 MILE AWAY FROM A GAS STATION AFTER FILLING UP. AFTER 4 ATTEMPTS TO START CAR, THE ENGINE FIRED UP. CAR RAN ROUGH/SPUTTERED FOR NEXT 2-3 MILES. *TR
ON OR ABOUT 03 OCTOBER 2013, THE ENGINE (5.7L HEMI) STALLED GOING AT 30-35 MPH. THE ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON, BUT DISAPPEARED WHEN I RESTARTED THE ENGINE. SINCE THAT DAY, I HAVE EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE ENGINE STALL INCIDENTS (ABOUT 10 TIMES) USUALLY AT A TRAFFIC STOP BEING IDLE OR APPROACHING A STOP, AND DURING REVERSE. IN NOVEMBER, WHILE CRUISING ON A HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE ACTED AS IF TO STALL AGAIN WITH ALL THE LIGHTS AND CHIMING ON THE EVIC ON AND OFF, BUT DID NOT STALL PROBABLY DUE TO THE MOMENTUM OR INERTIA. AT THAT TIME, I HAD MY ENTIRE FAMILY (SIZE OF FOUR) WITH ME IN THE VEHICLE AND FEARED FOR THEIR SAFETY. I WENT TO MULTIPLE CHRYSLER DEALERS AND SERVICE CENTERS, BUT COULD NOT PREVENT THE PROBLEM FROM REOCCURING AGAIN. IT APPEARS FROM MY ONLINE RESEARCH AND READING OTHER COMPLAINTS ON NHTSA WEBSITE THAT THE SYMPTOMS I AM EXPERIENCING ARE PROBABLY CONSISTENT WITH THE FAULTY SENSOR IN THE FUEL TANK. *TR

AFTER FILLING UP FUEL, WENT TO ACCELERATE AND CAR STARTED SPUTTERING, THIS HAPPENED WHILE MERGING ONTO FREEWAY. SECOND TIME WAS WHEN STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT, LIGHT TURNED GREEN, PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND CAR DIED. WAS ABLE TO COAST 2 LANES OVER TO THE SIDE OF ROAD. CAR WOULD RESTART BUT DIE AFTER 30 SECONDS. HAD TO CAR TOWED HOME. THIRD TIME, CAR DIED AT A BUSY INTERSECTION AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AND MOVED TO A SAFE PLACE. FOURTH TIME IT DIED WHILE TURNING INTO A SHOPPING CENTER. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FAULT IN THE CAR AND SHOULD BE A RECALL AND PAID BY CHRYSLER, LUCKILY I DIDN'T GET INTO AN ACCIDENT WITH SOMEONE REAR ENDING ME. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES. AFTER FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH A FULL TANK, SHORTLY AFTERWARDS CAR WILL STALL WITHOUT WARNING. THIS ISSUE STARTED APPROX 3 WEEKS AGO. THE HEAD LIGHTS WILL NOT STAY ON THEY FLICKER OFF AND ON AS IF I WAS FLASHING MY LIGHTS TO ALERT ANOTHER DRIVER, WHEN THEY ARE ACTUALLY DOING THIS ON ITS ON. THIS IS NOT ONLY A SAFETY ISSUE, BUT I'M AFRAID I WILL GET PULLED OVER BY LAW OFFICIALS. AND MY JOB REQUIRES ME TO HAVE TO BE AT WORK AT NIGHT. AFTER FUELING UP MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER RT THE CAR WILL REPEATEDLY STALL. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL THE CAR WITH GAS.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER AFTER JUST GETTING IT OUT OF THE SHOP. WITH NO NOTICE THE CAR BEGAN TO OVERHEAT I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK. FILLED UP FUEL TANK AND LET THE NOZZLE CLICK. LEFT THE GAS STATION, STOPPED AT A LIGHT, CAR STALLED. NO INDICATOR LIGHTS APPEARED. RESTARTED EASILY, AND I WAS DRIVING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, AND AT ABOUT 15MPH, CAR STALLED AGAIN AND RESTARTED QUICKLY. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD, SAT FOR AWHILE WITH THE CAR RUNNING WITH NO FURTHER STALLING. CONTACTED A MECHANIC, AND WAS INFORMED THAT A VALVE IN THE EVAP CANISTER LOCATED WITHIN THE GAS TANK WILL GET STUCK, ALLOWING RAW FUEL TO ENTER THE SYSTEM, GIVING A FALSE READING TO THE ECM, INDICATING THE CAR IS RUNNING TOO RICH, AND WILL ADJUST, CAUSING THE CAR TO STALL. HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK(AS THE EVAP VALVE IS INTEGRATED WITHIN THE TANK), AND HAVE HAD NO FURTHER PROBLEMS SINCE. SEEMS TO BE A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN, SINCE THERE IS NO INDICATION THAT CAR IS ABOUT TO STALL AND NO WAY TO DETERMINE THAT YOU NEED TO MOVE TO SAFETY, ESPECIALLY IF YOU WERE ENTERING TRAFFIC ONTO A FAST MOVING FREEWAY. *TR
I HAD JUST FILLED THE GAS TANK AND WHEN I MADE A TURN THE ENGINE DIED WHILE I WAS TURNING. I PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR A FEW TIMES AND IT FINALLY STARTED. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP THERE WAS OIL IN THE GAS TANK AND, THE ENGINE WAS DESTROYED. ONE OF THE DIAGNOSIS CODES INDICATED THAT CYLINDER # 5 HAD MISFIRED.
