BRAKES HAVE LOCKED UP X3. VEHICLE ALMOST SKIDDED INTO THE BACK OF ANOTHER VEHICLE @ 40MPH. AFRAID TO DRIVE VEHICLE. HAD IT CHECKED OUT BY DEALERSHIP & REPAIR SHOP, NOTHING WRONG. REPAIR SHOP DID NOTE BRAKE SQUEAK AND VEHICLE SHAKING EVEN AT LOW MPH DURING TEST DRIVE- HE HAD JUST PUT NEW ROTOR AND BRAKE PADS LESS THAN 3MNTHS AGO! VEHICLE ALSO HAS A NOTICEABLE 'KICK' OR 'JARRING' WHEN DRIVING- EVEN AT 5-10MPH IN PARKING LOT WHEN ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS NOT EVEN PRESSED. I AM VERY AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR ESPECIALLY W/MY CHILD. THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND AS A SINGLE MOTHER AND EDUCATOR -SAFETY, SECURITY, AND RELIABILITY IS IMPORTANT. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT IT, I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER 13 SEPARATE TIMES FOR ISSUES. THEY WERE NEVER RESOLVED FULLY. THE DEALER ACTUALLY BROKE THE WINDOW CONTROLS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IN FRONT OF ME, AND TRIED TO TELL ME IT WAS ALREADY LIKE THAT.... LUCKILY, HE WAS SEEN, AND WAS DEALT WITH. THE NEWEST ISSUE, WHICH I SEE VIA ONLINE RESEARCH A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING IS THE SHIFT KIT. THE PARK LOCK MECHANISM BROKE, AND I COULD NOT GET IT OUT OF PARK. WE'VE REMOVED THE CONSOLE, AND EVERY DAY, I HAVE TO PUSH THE BROKEN PIECE OF PLASTIC DOWN IN ORDER TO GET THE CAR IN GEAR. THE DEALER WANTS $450 TO FIX THIS, AND I WILL NOT PAY IT. HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED. NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN. THE PIECE THAT BROKE IS A PATHETIC BRIGHT PINK PIECE OF PLASTIC THAT IS AS CHEAP AS A TOY FROM THE DOLLAR STORE, AND I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. IT'S PATHETIC. IT'S UNSAFE, IT'S NOT RIGHT, AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. ASAP. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT NO ONE HAS ISSUED A RECALL OR SAFETY CALL ON THIS. THERE ARE SEVERAL VERY REPUTABLE WEBSITES THAT SELL THE CHEAP PIECE THAT'S BROKEN BECAUSE HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ARE REPORTING THIS BROKEN. SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG HERE. FUNNY'THE PIECE I'M REFERRING TO COSTS $49.99 TO REPLACE, AND IS MADE OUT OF METAL. DODGE REPLACES IT WITH THE SAME PLASTIC, WHICH BREAKS A YEAR LATER. AND, THEY CHARGE $450 TO DO IT, AS THEY REPLACE THE ENTIRE SHIFT KIT. SAD. I'VE CONTACTED THE WEBSITE SEVERAL TIMES, AND THEY PROVIDED A LOT OF HELP. DODGE; NONE. *TR
WHILE THE CONTACT WAS ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HE NOTICED THAT THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF THE PARK POSITION WHICH DIDNT ALLOW THE CONTACT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND THE CONTACT DID NOT NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCES BEFOREHAND. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE IS 102724. BML
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED A VIOLENT VIBRATION AND SHAKING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE WHEEL AND TIRE BECAUSE OF DENTS FOUND ON THE WHEEL. AFTER THE TIRE AND WHEEL WAS REPLACED, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
I HAVE A 2006 DODGE DAYTONA CHARGER R/T. 28881 MILES 3 YRS AND 3 MONTHS OLD. JUST REPLACED PASSENGER SIDE OUTSIDE TIE ROD END AND NEED TO REPLACE TENSION STRUT ALSO ON PASSENGER SIDE. NOW I NEED TO CHECK OTHER TIE ROD ENDS BECAUSE I THINK THERE GOING BAD ALSO. ALSO PASSENGER SIDE SHOCK IS LEAKING. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING TO A VEHICLE AT 3 YRS OLD AND 28881 MILES. CAR IS NOT DRIVEN HARD. *TR
AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE THE VEHICLE STALLED MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN ACROSS TRAFFIC. THE RESULTING ISSUE DIDN'T RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT BUT IT WAS CLOSE. AFTER THAT TIME, THE VEHICLE WILL STALL AFTER FILLING THE PASSENGER FUEL CHAMBER OVER 60 LITERS. *TR
TREAD SEPARATION, GOODYEAR F1 SUPERCAR TIRES. 4 FAILURES OUT OF 5 TIRES AT APPROX 15,000 MILES. THESE ARE TOP OF THE LINE TIRES 245/45ZR20 . OE ON DODGE SRT 8 CHARGERS AND CHRYSLER 300 SRT 8 CARS. MY CAR HAS NOT BEEN AGGRESSIVELY DRIVEN. PRODUCT REPORTS AT TIRE RACK AND OTHER FEEDBACK LOCATIONS INDICATE THIS PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON. CONSIDERING THAT THESE TIRES ARE PLACED ON HIGH PERFORMANCE VEHICLES THIS TYPE OF FAILURE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I HAVE REPLACED THE TIRES AND KEPT TWO OF THEM THAT EXHIBIT THIS PROBLEM. THE OUTER EDGE OF THE TIRE BECOMES SLICK WHILE RETAINING SIGNIFICANT TREAD DEPTH ELSEWHERE. THE SEPARATION OCCURS ON THE INSIDE EDGE. GOODYEAR DOES NOT HONOR WARRANTY CLAIMS STATING POOR ALIGNMENT OR INSUFFICIENT TREAD DEPTH. CHRYSLER CORP DEALERS HAVE NOT FOUND ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS AND OTHER BRANDS OF TIRES DO NOT EXHIBIT EXCESSIVE INSTANCES OF OUTER EDGE WEAR OR TREAD SEPARATIONS AS A TYPICAL CONDITION WHEN USED AS REPLACEMENT TIRES ON THE SAME VEHICLE. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 06 DODGE CHARGER R/T 5.7L ON 12/24/07. I AM THE 2ND OWNER. I WAS TOLD THAT THE 1ST OWNER TRADED BECAUSE HE NEEDED A MINIVAN. I HAVE LEARNED SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE THAT WAS PROBABLY NOT THE CASE. APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, I WAS TRAVELING AT 35 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SPUTTER AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. IT ACTED AS IF IT WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS (IT HAD 1/8 TANK). I FILLED UP AND THE PROBLEM QUIT. LATER THAT DAY I WAS ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE BEACH TRAVELING AT 75 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN. I HAD TO QUICKLY PULL OVER IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND HAD TO WAIT ALMOST AN HOUR WITH IT 105 DEGREES OUTSIDE! AFTER IT WAS TOWED HOME, IT CRANKED FINE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO SAID THAT THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG; I MUST HAVE PURCHASED BAD GAS. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ABOUT A MONTH LATER. I MANAGED TO DRIVE IT HOME WHEN IT FINALLY COMPLETELY STALLED. UPON CRANKING, IT WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY, RED LINE, BACK FIRE, THEN SHUT OFF. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AGAIN. IT DID NOT THROW ANY CODES. THEY INSPECTED MY VEHICLE AND DROVE IT AROUND TOWN AND COULD NEVER DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. IT HAS SINCE HAPPENED ON AT LEAST 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND THE CAUSE STILL REMAINS A MYSTERY TO ME, THE DODGE DEALERSHIP, AND 2 PRIVATE MECHANICS. I AM THANKFUL THAT MY 5 YEAR OLD SON HAS NOT BEEN WITH ME ANY OF THE TIMES THAT THIS CAR HAS LEFT ME STRANDED! IT'S AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN! *TR
ON JULY 4TH 2009, AFTER REFUELING MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T (5.7L HEMI WITH APPROXIMATELY 38,000 MILES), IT STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45MPH. IT RAN/IDLED ROUGH WHEN RESTARTED. SINCE THE FIRST INCIDENT, IT REPEATS THE STALLING ISSUE RANDOMLY AFTER REFUELING AND HAS CONTINUED UNTIL CURRENT DAY (5/14/2013). IT HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS, CAUSING DANGEROUS SITUATIONS THAT PUT MY LIFE, AS WELL AS OTHER DRIVERS IN DANGER, BUT USUALLY STALLS WHEN STOPPING AT STOP/YIELD SIGNS. AFTER REFUELING, IT IS UNSAFE FOR ME TO TRY AND MERGE ONTO THE FREEWAY UNLESS I CIRCLE TOWN ON LOW SPEED CITY ROADS UNTIL THE CAR STALLS OR I FEEL IT WILL NOT BE AN ISSUE AT THE TIME - THIS IS A GROSS WASTE OF FUEL THAT SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY BUT UNDER CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES, IT IS. THROUGH MY OWN INVESTIGATION THRU ON-LINE SOURCES AND MEMBERS WITHIN MY LOCAL CAR CLUB, I HAVE FOUND THE ISSUE TO LIKELY BE A FAULTY ROLL-OVER VALVE WITHIN THE FUEL TANK, WHICH IS NON-SERVICEABLE AND REQUIRES REPLACING THE ENTIRE FUEL TANK (ABOUT $750~900 FOR PARTS AND 3~6 HOURS OF LABOR). *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE THE BRAKES BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO ENGAGE AND ALSO DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE BRAKES DO NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT IS AWARE OF THE SAFETY RISK WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,800 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,793.
IN SEPT. 2008, DEC. 2008, MAY 11 2009, MAY 21, 2009, BOTH COOLING FANS QUIT WORKING COMPLETELY CAUSING A SUDDEN RISE IN COOLING TEMPS. SINCE DECEMBER THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED THE FANS AT N/C. ON JUNE 1 2009 THE LOW SPEED COOLING FAN HAS QUIT WORKING CAUSING A HOTTER THAN NORMAL OPERATING TEMP OF THE COOLING SYSTEM, AS HIGH AS 230 DEGREES. EVERYTHING POSSIBLE HAS BEEN CHECKED ON THE CAR BY THE DEALERSHIP & PHONE CALLS TO CHRYSLER BY THE DEALERSHIP WERE UNABLE TO FIND ANY REASON FOR THESE FANS TO FAIL THIS OFTEN. I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN SEPTEMBER 2005. THIS IS THE 5TH FAILURE OF THIS COMPONENT SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 2008. *TR (THREE RELATED VOQS FROM SAME COMPLAINANT: 10272632,10267070, 10269939)
I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. IT WAS BOUGHT IN 7/06 WITH 41 MILES ON IT. IN 10/07 (AT 20,463 MILES) I HAD TO HAVE THE PASSENGERS SIDE TIE-ROD REPLACED (UNDER WARRANTY). I NOW NEED THE DRIVERS SIDE TIE-ROD AND TENSION STRUT REPLACED (AT 44,120 MILES). I AM TOLD THAT THE TENSION STRUT THAT I NEED IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER BECAUSE CHRYSLER HAS NOT PAID THEIR MANUFACTURER SO THEY REFUSE TO MAKE THE PARTS. THIS ISSUES HAVE CAUSED UNDUE WEAR ON MY TIRES AS WELL AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD NOT TO REPLACE THEM UNTIL THE OTHER PROBLEMS ARE FIXED BECAUSE IT WILL JUST WEAR THEM DOWN TOO. I HAVE NOTICED THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES AND OTHER ISSUES THAT CHRYSLER APPARENTLY HAS IGNORED. I CAN NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR WITH MY CHILDREN IN IT AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG BEFORE THIS PART MAY EVEN BE AVAILABLE. WHEN THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED, I JUST ASSUMED THAT IT WAS AN HONEST MISTAKE IN ASSEMBLY, BUT NOW THAT'S ITS HAPPENED AGAIN, I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT ANYMORE. THIS CAR SHOULD NOT BE MALFUNCTIONING LIKE THIS WITHIN 3 YEARS. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEBODY IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR WORSE. *TR
2006 DODGE CHARGER R/T 5.7 ENGINE. BOTH COOLING FAN MOTORS HAVE GONE OUT 4 TIMES SINCE SEPT. 2008. THE FIRST REPLACEMENT SET LASTED TILL DECEMBER 08, 2008. THAT SET LASTED UNTIL MAY 11, 2009. THAT REPLACEMENT SET LASTED UNTIL MAY 21, 2009. EACH TIME THE CAR HAS BEEN COMPLETELY CHECKED FOR A CAUSE OF FAILURE, WHICH SHOWS EVERYTHING TO BE NORMAL. THIS SET FROM MAY 11 HAD 1 MOTOR COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. THERE IS NO WARNING SIGNS OF IMPENDING FAILURE. THE TEMP GAUGE NEEDLE IMMEDIATELY SPIKES INTO THE RED AREA AND THE TEMP READOUT WENT TO ABOVE 240 DEGREES FROM 195 DEGREES IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. THE FAN BLADES SHOW SIGNS OF HITTING THE SHROUD, BUT ON INSPECTION THE FAN BLADES AND SHROUD SHOW NO SIGNS OF DEFORMITY AND ARE THE SAME SIZE AS NORMAL. THIS IS THE 4TH FAILURE IN APPROXIMATELY 8 MONTHS WITH THE LAST ONLY BEING 10 DAYS FROM REPAIR TO FAILURE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN FANTASTIC, CHRYSLER WAS CALLED AND COULD OFFER NO SUGGESTIONS OTHER THAN CHECKING EVERYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH THE COOLING SYSTEM & ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHICH WERE NORMAL. EACH TIME THE COOLING FAN MOTORS WERE REPLACED, ONLY TO FAIL WITHIN DAYS TO A FEW MONTHS. THE LAST TIME ON MAY 21 I HAD TO HURRY AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF, IN TRAFFIC, AND COAST TO A SIDE STREET TO LET THE ENGINE COOL DOWN. *TR (THREE RELATED VOQS FROM SAME COMPLAINANT: 10272632,10267070, 10269939)

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER EACH TIME AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
ROLL OVER VALVE ON MY 06 DODGE CHARGER POLICE CAR IS DEFECTIVE. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE. WHEN I FILL MY GAS TANK UP TO FULL THE CAR STALLS AT LIGHTS JUMPS WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY , AND STALLS ON TURNS. *TR
I WAS RECENTLY IN A CAR ACCIDENT WHERE MY BRAKES LOCKED ON ME AND I WENT SLIDING INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. WHEN THE IMPACT OCCURRED MY AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED AND MY BRAKES WERE STILL LOCKED. *TR
I WAS TURNING LEFT INTO A PARKING LOT AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THIS HAS HAPPENED PROBABLY 20 DIFFERENT TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MARCH 2009. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, WHILE EXITING THE INTERSTATE, WHILE TURNING AT INTERSECTIONS AND WHILE DRIVING ON STRAIGHT AWAYS. SEVERAL TIMES HAVE BEEN SOON AFTER REFUELING. THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING AND HAS NEARLY CAUSED ME TO WRECK THE VEHICLE. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS ON 5/17/2013, I HAD REFUELED THAT MORNING. THAT EVENING IT STALLED TWICE AND I HAD TROUBLE RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED. I'M AFRAID TO HAVE MY KIDS IN THE CAR. *TR

I HAVE A 2006 CHARGER R/T WITH APPROX 80K MILES. I WENT INTO THE DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THEY SAID MY TRANSMISSION WAS LEAKING. I ASKED IF IT WAS SERIOUS AND THE ADVISOR TOLD ME IT HAPPENS "ALL THE TIME" ON CHARGERS LIKE MINE. WHAT MAKES IT WORSE IS THAT THERE IS NO DIPSTICK TO MONITOR YOUR TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL. IT SEEMS A LITTLE ODD THAT A SEAL WOULD WEAR OUT IN LESS THAN 3 YEARS. CHRYSLER SHOULD RECALL THIS FOR SAFETY REASONS. *TR
PLEASE HELP ME PREVENT ACCIDENTS AND/OR FATALITIES THAT WILL RESULT FROM CHRYSLER'S REFUSAL TO ADDRESS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. RECENTLY MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER BEGAN STALLING, NUMEROUS TIME, WITH THE STEERING LOCKING SOMETIMES AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. A POTENTIALLY DISASTROUS SITUATION FOR EVERYONE ON THE ROAD. MY CAR'S BEEN TOWED TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES AND THE PROBLEM REMAINS A MYSTERY TO THE TECHNICIANS. THEY'VE CHANGED THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM), WITH NO CHANGE. THE CAR CONTINUES TO INTERMITTENTLY REGISTER 'LOST COMM WITH THE PCM' DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES. AT TIMES THE CAR PERFORMS FLAWLESS, AND OTHER TIMES IT STALLS AND WON'T RESTART SOMETIMES FOR DAYS. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH CHARGERS, OLD AND NEW, AND ONE THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS SUFFER. A CHRYSLER REP TOLD ME THEY WERE AWARE OF A STALL PROBLEM, BUT SAID THAT SINCE THEY DON'T KNOW THE EXACT CAUSE, THERE IS NOTHING THEY WILL DO UNLESS THE CUSTOMER PAYS FOR EXPENSIVE AND EXPERIMENTAL DIAGNOSES. WHY IS IT UP TO THE CONSUMER TO FIND A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT COULD KILL MOTORISTS? WHEN DO THEY INTEND TO ADDRESS IT? AFTER A FAMILY IS WIPED OUT? THIS IS A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN. AND A PREVENTABLE ONE IF WE CAN CONVINCE CHRYSLER TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM AND AFFECT A RECALL TO FIX IT. CHRYSLER'S DISREGARD FOR THE AMERICAN CONSUMER AT THE VERY LEAST, AND TOWARD THE PUBLIC AT LARGE AT MOST, IS ALARMING. I CANNOT FATHOM HOW AN AMERICAN CORPORATION THESE DAYS CAN SO BRASHLY TURN A BLIND EYE TO A KNOWN AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT PURCHASED HIS VEHICLE USED FROM THE DEALER ON MARCH 9, 2009. THREE DAYS LATER, THE FRONT WHEELS BEGAN TO SHIMMY BADLY AND THE TRUNK LEAKS WHEN IT RAINS. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT BALANCE THE WHEELS ON THE FRONT END. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000.

I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER, PURCHASED IN CLEVELAND OH IN OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2005. I HAD ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE STARTING IN THE BEGINNING OF 2006. I INITIALLY NOTICED THAT MY TRANSMISSION CLUTCH WAS SLIPPING AND THAT MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR. INSIDE SIDE WALLS CRACKING WITH > 60% TREAD LIFE. 22MONTHS PUT ON NEW 2006 DODGE DAYTONA-CHARGER BY DEALERSHIP. ALL 4 TIRES WITH CRACKING. ONE HOWEVER, SO MANY CRACKS THAT DEALER SERVICE MANAGER ADVISED TO NOT DRIVE CAR DUE TO SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD OF POTENTIAL TIRE RUPTURE. ALL 4 TIRES RECOMMENDED TO BE REPLACED. BUT THE DEALER SAYS THEY WON'T HONOR THE "MANUFACTURERS" WARRANTY. ONE TIRE COMPANY INDICATED A PRIOR RECALL OF WANLI BRAND TIRES, YET, I COULD NOT FIND A RECALL FOR THIS TIRE ON THIS SITE. WAS THERE AN ACTUAL RE-CALL ON WANLI PERFORMANCE TIRES FOR SIDEWALL DEFECTS? I FOUND, ON THE INTERNET, THAT THIS TIRE, WANLI S-1098,HAS A "100 PERCENT FREE REPLACEMENT" WARRANTY FOR THE LIFE OF THE TIRE. HOWEVER, THERE ARE NO DEALERS IN MY AREA THAT DEAL WITH WANLI ANYMORE, PRESUMABLY DUE TO "POOR QUALITY", "TOO MANY PROBLEMS" AND AN ALLEGED RECALL PER MY LOCAL LES SCHWAB TIRE STORE. CAN YOU LET ME KNOW OF ANY RECALLS ON THE WANLI BRAND TIRE? SINCE THE TIRE WAS INSTALLED BY THE DEALER PRIOR TO SALE( TO ENCOURAGE SALE) DOES THAT MAKE THE AUTO DEALERSHIP THE TIRE DEALER AND SHOULD THEY HONOR THE WARRANTY? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK COMING FROM THE HEADLIGHTS. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER WITH 47,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN I WENT TO MY MECHANIC TO HAVE THE TIRES ROTATED (GOODYEAR), THEY ADVISED ME THAT THE STEERING TIE ROD (RT SIDE) WAS SO BADLY WORN THEY DID NOT EVEN WANT ME TO DRIVE IT HOME ( I HAVE SAVED THE PART). IT IS A SEALED UNIT AND SHOULD NOT NEED ANY LUBRICATION OTHER THAN WHAT WAS INITIALLY DESIGNED INTO THE PART. OBVIOUSLY IF ONE LOSES STEERING ABILITY AT SPEED THE CONSEQUENCES COULD BE SIGNIFICANT. INTERESTINGLY, THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT I GOT THE LAST ONE AVAILABLE IN THE MILWAUKEE AREA. IT MAKES ME WONDER IF ALL THE OTHERS WERE USED FOR A SIMILAR REPLACEMENT DEFECT AND/OR IT IS BEING REDESIGNED. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 DODGE CHARGER THAT ATTEMPTS TO STALL ~ WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT ~ AND THEN WILL HESITATE UPON ACCELERATION BEFORE LURCHING FORWARD. NO ACCIDENT OR INJURIES YET, BUT POTENTIAL IS THERE. MIRACLE I HAVEN'T BEEN REAR ENDED OR REAR ENDED SOMEONE ELSE. FRIGHTENING TO THINK OF WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY AT AROUND 60-65 MPH AND THE CAR DID STALL. I FOUND A FORUM ONLINE WITH NUMEROUS DODGE CHARGER OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. IT WAS ABOUT 8:00 A.M. IT WAS NOT HOT ABOUT 60 DEGREES, ME AND MY HUSBAND WERE STANDING BY THE CAR AND WHEN HE GOT IN AND SHUT THE DOOR WITHOUT STARTING THE VEHICLE FIRST, THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED FOR NO APPARENT REASON WE BOTH STOOD THERE WATCHING IN AWW AS IT CONTINUED TO FALL IN PIECES AT FIRST IT EXPLODED OUTWARDS THEN JUST FELL IN SIDE THE REAR SEATS IF THE CHILDREN WERE IN THE CAR WITH US GLASS WOULD HAVE FALLEN ALL OVER THEM NOTHING HIT THE WINDOW AND IT DID NOT HAVE ANY EXISTING CRACKS AT ALL IT JUST SHATTERED FIRST IN ONE SMALL AREA THEN AROUND THE EDGES AS IT BEING EATEN OR SOMETHING THEN JUST ALL OVER I DON'T HAVE A VIDEO CAMERA BUT I TOOK STILL PATTERS AS IT WAS HAPPENING. THEN I LOOKED ON LINE TO SEE IF ANY OTHERS HAD ANYTHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN AND I FOUND WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES. THIS GLASS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THERE WAS VERY SMALL SHARP SHARDS OF GLASS ALL OVER I GOT SOME IN MY HAND AND FINGERS. THE DEALER REFUSED TO BELIEVE ME AND DENIED THERE WAS A PROBLEM. BUT I STOOD THERE AND WATCHED THIS HAPPEN. THIS GLASS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. *TR
BRAKES: THE CHARGER R/T BRAKES ONLY HAVE 17K MILES ON THEM AND THE ROTORS NEED TO BE REPLACED. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER AT 11K BUT WAS TOLD THAT THE SHAKING WAS NORMAL. THE DEALERS KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH THE ROTORS WARPING AND REFUSE TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY PAST 12K MILES. *TR
REPEATED WARPING AND SQUEALING COMING FROM BRAKES. DEALERSHIP TURNS THE ROTORS TO "FIX" THE ISSUE TILL IT IS OUT OF ORIGINAL 12,000 MILE WARRANTY FOR BRAKES. THEY WILL THEN NO LONGER CORRECT THE ISSUE WITHOUT PAYMENT. THERE IS NO PERMANENT FIX. *TR
I HAVE A POTENTIAL PROBLEM ARISING. UPON TAKING MY 2006 CHARGER IN TO HAVE AN ALIGNMENT DONE ON IT I WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT END HAD FALLEN AND IT WOULD NOT TAKE ALL OF THE SPECS ON THE ALIGNMENT. I TRIED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN ODESSA, TEXAS AND THEY NEVER DID GET TO IT ON THE DAY SPECIFIED. ALL THEY DID SAY WAS THAT MOST ALIGNMENT CENTERS DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THIS JOB. ONLY THE DEALERS THEY ALLOWED WOULD DO IT. PROBABLY BECAUSE THE DEALER DOES NOT WANT TO HAVE TO PUT FORTH THE REPAIRS FOR WARRANTY WORK AND THEIR PEOPLE WILL SAY THAT IT IS DONE RIGHT. I WILL GET A SECOND OPINION BUT IT WILL NOT BE WITH THEIR PEOPLE. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH SINCE AND HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL CARS OF LIKE MINE THAT HAVE HAD TIE ROD ENDS FALL OFF AND CAUSE NEAR ACCIDENTS. I ALSO READ MANY COMPLAINTS WHERE THERE HAVE BEEN INCIDENTS OF BRAKE FAILURES AND THE CHRYSLER CORP WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL. THAT IS DANGEROUS. POOR BRAKE SYSTEM ON THE DODGE DAYTONA RT 2006. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 27,000 MILES ON IT AND MY REAR AND FRONT ROTORS ARE SHOT. I HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS ONCE ALREADY. DODGE IS SAYING THAT THIS IS "COMMON" AND IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS. TO HAVE THIS FIXED WILL BE APPROX $700. THIS APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH SEVERAL BUYERS OF THIS VEHICLE.
