TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE COMING TO A STOP, THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED. THE CONTACT EXAMINED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT PIECES OF THE FRONT TIRES WERE SHEARING OFF. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A TIRE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE ALIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER AND THE TIE ROD ENDS WERE REPLACED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,200 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,500.
AN ACCIDENT AND OR DEATH WAITING TO HAPPEN. MAY 8, 2009. I AM A MOTHER WITH A NOW 1 YR. OLD CHILD WHO TRAVELS 80% OF THE TIME IN THE BACK SEAT OF MY 2006 CHARGER R/T WITH HEMI 5.7L WHICH NOW HAS 40,000 MILES. SINCE FEB 2008 BEING 8 MTHS PREGNANT AT THE TIME WITH CAR HAVING 23,723 MILES I HAVE REPEATEDLY GONE TO POTAKIN PLANET DODGE IN MIAMI, FL COMPLAINING ABOUT AN INCONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. IT WILL SHUT OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON AT A RED LIGHT (NO WARNING LIGHTS BEFORE OR AFTER) IT WILL SHUT OFF IN THE PARKING LOT AT 10-20 MPH (NO WARNING LIGHTS BEFORE OR AFTER) BUT THE BIGGEST FEAR IS WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED 2 TIMES SO FAR WITH THE BABY IN THE BACK SEAT! FIRST TIME I WAS TRAVELING 35 MPH ON THE STREET AND THE 2 TIME I WAS TRAVELING 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND OUT OF THE BLUE THE CAR STALLS AS IF GETTING READY TO SHUT OFF, YOU LOOK AT THE DASH AND ALL GAUGES ARE BEGINNING TO DROP, I STEP ON THE GAS AND THE CAR HAS SOME TROUBLE REMEMBERING WHAT IT SHOULD BE DOING (DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY) AND THEN PROCEEDS AS IF NOTHING EVER HAPPENED. THE SERVICE DEPT. CAN NOT TELL ME WHY THE CAR DOES THIS. THE "16 POINT INSPECTION" STATES THE CAR IS FINE. NO ERROR CODES COME UP. NO "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT EITHER. THIS CAR IS ALL I HAVE TO MOVE AROUND IN FOR MY GIRLS AND MYSELF. I AM IN SOOOOO MUCH SHOCK TO READ ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE REGARDING THIS SAME PROBLEM AND DODGE DOES NOTHING. IF SOMETHING WHERE TO HAPPEN TO MY FAMILY OR MYSELF BECAUSE OF THIS MALFUNCTION THAT DODGE IS AWARE OF AND IS DOING NOTHING IT IS NOW NOTED HERE THAT I HAVE BEEN TURNING FOR OVER A YEAR TO RESOLVE MY ISSUE JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. SHE IMMEDIATELY HEARD A BEEPING NOISE FOLLOWED BY EXCESSIVE HESITATION. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS AN EXTREMELY LOW POWER RESPONSE DURING ACCELERATION. THE FAILURES OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION AND WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON FIVE SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES, BUT THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,723 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 39,000. UPDATED 06/09/09. *LJ THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUT OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON. ALL OF THE GAUGES ON THE DASHBOARD WOULD JUST DROP. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS, BUT TO NO AVAIL. NO ERROR CODES DISPLAYED ON THE COMPUTER. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. UPDATED 06/11/09.*JB
YOU CAN BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, AND EVERY THING N THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF LIKE YOU TURNED THE KEY OFF, AND BE TRAVELING AT SPEED AND SPEEDOMETER GO TO 0 ALL GAUGES INTERIOR LIGHTS DASH CLUSTER I MEAN OFF, AND COME BACK UP LIKE YOU JUST GOT IN AND TURNED THE KEY BUT SPEED COMES TACH COMES BACK UP ALL YOUR DASH LIGHTS PRESTART LIGHT UP, OIL TIRE PRESSURE ALL YOUR COMPUTER TEST SAFETY WARNING LIGHTS AND DOOR DING, IT MIGHT DO IT 5 OR 6 TIMES SOMETIMES STAY OFF LONGER COME BACK FOR A WHILE AND ITS DONE IT 20 30 TIMES AND THE MOTOR STILL RUNNING AND I BELIEVE LIGHTS STILL WORKING , 1 TIME I WAS LEAVING WORK AND USED THE MANUAL SHIFT MODE AND SHE STUMBLED AND JUST LAID DOWN WENT QUARTER MILE IT LIT BACK UP, THAT CONCERNED ME AS WELL AS THE SHUT DOWNS OF ALL INSTRUMENTATION, UP N DOWN AND I DON'T GET QUITE AS CONCERNED AS THE FIRST 35 TIMES, BUT WIFE DRIVING IT TO WORK AND IT DONE IT SHE WASN'T FEELING NEAR AS FUZZY AS I HAD BECAME AND HER BOSS HAD ONE SAME YEAR SAME COLOR GOMANGO HE TOLD HER HIS DIDIT TO, JUST WONDERING IF SOME SOLUTION HAD COME ABOUT OUT OF QUANTITY, CAUSE I KNOW HOW ALL OF THEM ARE ABOUT FESSING UP AND DOING A RECALL TO FIX THEIR DEFECTS IN ENGINEERING PROBLEMS DESPITE THE PRICE WE PAY FOR A NEW ONE? SQUEAKY BRAKES/ROTORS I HAVE BEEN READING FOR THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS ABOUT 2006 DAYTONA R/T OWNERS COMPLAINING ABOUT SQUEAKY BRAKES. I TOO HAVE SUFFERED FROM THIS PROBLEM. I BOUGHT MY GMG DAYTONA IN MAY OF 2006. MY BRAKES STARTED TO SQUEAK IN AUGUST 2006. I BROUGHT MY CAR IN THREE TIMES TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM RECTIFIED. EACH TIME I RECEIVED ANSWERS FROM THE DEALER SIMILAR TO THE ONES I HAVE READ HERE. FINALLY I WAS FORCED TO WRITE A LETTER TO THE DEALER. "JANUARY 8, 2008 I RECEIVED A QUICK REPLY AND THE VICE PRESIDENT OF T HE DEALERSHIP AGREED TO LOOK AT THE PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED MY REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. ON THE WAY HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP THE BRAKES BEGAN SQUEAKING AS BAD AS BEFORE. I WAS QUITE DISMAYED. I TELEPHONED THE VP OF THE DEALERSHIP, WHOSE REPLY WAS BASICALLY "WE DID WHAT WE CAN, WE CHANGED YOUR BRAKES, THEIR AS GOOD AS NEW, AND IF THE SQUEAK, WELL THEN THAT'S WHAT THEY'LL DO, AND WE ARE BASICALLY DONE WITH THIS...". I FIND THIS TOTALLY UNSATISFACTORY. GOOD LUCK SELLING A $25,000 CAR WITH SCREAMING BRAKES. I HAVE THOUGHT OF INVOKING THE LEMON LAW, AS EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS SAFE, THE BRAKE ISSUE COULD SEVERELY IMPACT MY RESALE VALUE. I HAVE FINALLY BROKEN DOWN AND BOUGHT HAWK CERAMIC PADS WHICH I'M GOING TO HAVE INSTALLED. THIS TO ME DOES NOT SEEM THE WAY THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE SOLVED. I DON'T BUY THE "HI-PO" BRAKE SELL THAT WE ARE GETTING FROM DODGE. I THINK THE PADS ARE SUBSTANDARD, AND PERHAPS SO ARE THE ROTORS. THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE CASE ON A CAR FOR WHICH I PAID $32,000. I LOVE THE CAR, AND WOULD HATE TO HAVE TO DITCH IT BECAUSE OF THE BRAKES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT HAD BEEN ILLUMINATED FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE YEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THE AIRBAG CLOCK SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER HAVING THE REPAIRS DONE, THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY THREE MONTHS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE AIRBAG CLOCK SPRING WOULD NEED REPLACING AGAIN, AS WELL AS THE ABS MODULE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,300.
CONSTANT BRAKE SQUEAL WHEN PUSHING BRAKES AT ONLY 6,500 MILES. DODGE UNWILLING TO FIX. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2006 DODGE CHARGER BRAND NEW IN MARCH 2006. EVER SINCE THEN THERE HAS BEEN PROBLEMS. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. I HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES NOT STOPPING AND SQUEAKING AND THE FACT THAT I COULD BE ACCELERATING UP TO ABOUT 20-30MPH AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO ANY FURTHER. THE CAR IS SHOWING SIGNS OF TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THESE PROBLEMS LEAD ME TO THE DEALERSHIP WHICH WAS WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID I NEEDED BRAKE PADS AND NOTHING ELSE WAS WRONG, WHICH I GOT BRAKE PADS FROM A DIFFERENT BUSINESS. THE CAR STILL CONTINUES TO DO THE SAME THING WITH THE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THE BRAKES. I SEE THERE WAS NO RESULTS WITH GOING TO THE DEALER SO I CONTACTED THE CORPORATE CHRYSLER CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE # AND THEY ADVISED ME TO TAKE THE CAR BACK FOR A DIAGNOSIS, I ADVISED THEM THAT I PREVIOUSLY DONE THAT AND THERE WAS NOTHING FOUND. THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE THE DEALER WOULD NEED TO RECOGNIZE THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE. THE CONTACT HAD THE MECHANIC CHECK THE TIE ROD ENDS BECAUSE THEY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ON THREE PREVIOUS OCCASIONS. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE TIE ROD ENDS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE ARE NO WARNING INDICATORS PRIOR TO THE FAILURES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,900 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
CHARGET R/T 5.7 L: STARTING AT ABOUT 30,000 MI --SEVERE (VERY SCARY) VIBRATION AND SHAKE IN FRONT END AND IN STEERING WHEEL WHEN BRAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. DOES NOT OCCUR AT LOW SPEEDS. INSPECTION OF ROTORS/PADS SHOW NO PROBLEMS. BASED ON MY RESEARCH I BELIEVE TO BE A SUSPENSION DEFECT. *CN
BRAKES SQUEAL WITH LIGHT TO MODERATE BRAKING. ROTORS TURNED AT 30K, PADS ROTORS REPLACED AT 60K. *TR
MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER STARTED LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS SOME PLUG THAT GOES INTO THE TRANSMISSION PAN. THE SERVICE ADVISOR DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING UNDER THE CAR, BECAUSE HE SAID THERE HAD OTHER VEHICLES IN FOR REPAIR FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I DROPPED THE CAR OFF THE FOLLOWING MONDAY FOR REPAIR. THE RECEIPT STATES THAT THEY REPLACED AN O-RING AND BUSHINGS. IT COST ME A LITTLE OVER $153, NOT OVERLY EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR PROBLEM HAD THE LEAK NOT BEEN DETECTED AND MORE FLUID LOST. I CHECKED IN ON A FORUM OVER THE WEB AND NOTICED OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME VEHICLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I WANTED TO KNOW WHY NO RECALL HAS BEEN FILED FOR THIS. HAVE THERE NOT BEEN ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THIS? *TR
OUR 2006 DODGE CHARGER WAS SHOWING SYMPTOMS OF THE WHEELS BEING OUT OF ALIGNMENT, AND WE HAD IT CHECKED OUT BY A MECHANIC. WE KNEW WHAT HE WAS GOING TO SAY BEFORE HE CAME BACK WITH HIS ASSESSMENT; ITS THE TIE RODS ONCE AGAIN. WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE TIE RODS ON THIS CAR FROM THE 3RD MONTH OF OWNING IT. WE HAVE HAD IT FIXED BY THE DEALER 3 TIMES ALONG WITH NEW BRAKES AND TIRES AT THE COST OF $2,000 EACH TIME. WE DRIVE 20 MILES A DAY TO AND FROM WORK, THERE IS NO REASON FOR THE TIE RODS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT IS AN ISSUE THAT WE WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE AND THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT. HE HAD 4 CHARGERS IN THAT DAY WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER 2 DAYS AGO BECAUSE WE NEED TO HAVE THE TIE RODS FIXED FOR THE 4TH TIME. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD FORWARD MY COMPLAINT TO THE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT TEAM. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO OWN UP TO THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS THEY ARE SELLING! I'M AFRAID FOR OUR FAMILY OF 4 TO RIDE IN THIS CAR. DO PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE AN INVESTIGATION IS WARRANTED? FIRST AS EVERYONE ELSE HAS EXPERIENCED THE BRAKES STARTED TO SQUEAL. THEN AROUND 30,000 MILES WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED AT SPEED AROUND 60 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO VIBRATE. LATER FOLLOWED BY EXTREME MOTION IN THE WHEEL FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND EVENTUALLY THE BRAKES BEGAN TO CEASE DURING ACCELERATION. HAD THE ROTOR RESURFACED AND NEW PADS. 8,000 MILES LATER STEERING WHEEL DOING THE SAME THING AND WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID MY TIRES WERE BAD AND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. I FIND THIS HARD TO BELIEVE AS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED BEFORE ENDING UP WITH A BILL AROUND $1,000. SO NOW I AM WAITING FOR THE BREAKS TO GET SO BAD THAT THEY WILL ACTUALLY SERVICE THE PROBLEM. I AM SO DISGUSTED WITH THIS AND DON'T KNOW WHAT COURSE OF ACTION TO TAKE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FAILED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. THE DRIVER USED HIS HAND TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE HOME. THE PEDAL WAS ELECTRIC. THE DEALER COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 105,000.
MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER SRT8 IS JUST UNDER 2 YEARS OLD, WITH 10,500 MILES. MY RIGHT REAR BRAKE ROTOR HAS A CONSTANT SQUEALING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THIS NOISE HAS INCREASED IN BOTH FREQUENCY AS WELL AS VOLUME. *TR
IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS MY SON HAD MENTIONED TO ME THAT HE THOUGHT MY CHARGER MIGHT BE HAVING A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. I HAD ALSO NOTICED AND MENTIONED IT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHEN I HAD MY OIL CHANGED AND TIRES ROTATED. THEY CHECKED THE FLUIDS, ETC, BUT FOUND NOTHING OF CONCERN. ON TUESDAY, NOV 27, 2007 I DROVE ABOUT 60 MILES TO CINCINNATI FOR A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT AND TO TAKE AN ELDERLY FRIEND TO LUNCH. AFTER I ARRIVED WITH IN THE 275 BY-PASS LOOP I TRAVELED MOSTLY ON LOCAL ROADS AT SPEEDS OF 30-45 PMH. WHEN RETURNING MY FRIEND TO HER APARTMENT FOR SOME REASON I DID NOT HOP IN THE FREEWAY, WHICH I USUALLY DO. I TOOK A CROSS CUT ROAD THAT I HAD NOT TAKEN FOR OVER A YEAR. AS I PULLED INTO THE APARTMENT PARKING SPACE THE CAR SEEMED TO BE STRAINING AS IF THE BRAKE WERE ON. WHEN I BACKED UP TO LEAVE, THE CAR BARELY MOVED. I GOT OUT AND WALKED AROUND THE CAR BUT SAW NOTHING UNUSUAL. I AGAIN TRIED TO BACK OUT WITH THE SAME DIFFICULTY. I THEN DECIDED I WOULD DRIVE THE CAR AROUND THE PARKING LOT BEFORE I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN I AGAIN BACKED UP THERE WAS A CLANG. THIS TIME WHEN I WALKED AROUND THE CAR THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE WAS AT A SHARP ANGLE BUT THE OTHER THREE TIRES WERE NOT. I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR BEHIND THIS WHEEL AND SAW THE PROBLEM. THE TIE ROD WAS HANGING DOWN ON THE ASPHALT. I DID NOT MOVE THE CAR AGAIN AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK FROM MY HOME TOWN. WHEN CHECKED, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CONNECTOR FOR THE TIE ROD (TO THE WHEEL) HAD WORN DOWN. THE OTHER FRONT WHEEL WAS CHECKED AND THE SAME WEAR WAS FOUND. I HAD BOTH REPLACED AND HAVE THE TWO DAMAGED TIE RODS. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WAS VERY RELIEVED THAT I WAS NOT DRIVING AT A HIGH SPEED. BECAUSE MY CAR IS A 2006, THIS SEEMS TO BE AN UNUSUAL SITUATION. IT COULD EXPLAIN WHY I HAD TO REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES AT AROUND 34,000 MILES. HOPEFULLY THIS WAS JUST A FLUKE, BUT I FELT IT WAS IMPORTANT TO REPORT IN CASE THIS IS A PRODUCT DEFECT. *TR
I OWN A 2006 DODGE CHARGER SRT8. MY BRAKES HAS BEEN SQUEAKING SINCE 7,500 MILES. THE BRAKES WERE WORE OUT BY THAT TIME. THE LIFE OF A BRAKE IS 12,000 MILES. THERE IS ONLY 21,500 MILES NOW. I CHANGED MY FRONT AND BACK BRAKES THREE DIFFERENT TIMES. EVEN CHANGED THE ROTORS. TO NO AVAIL THEY STILL SQUEAK! I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE DEALER SERVICE CENTER AT LEAST 10 TIMES ABOUT THE BRAKES. LAST VISIT WAS IN NOVEMBER 2007. THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THAT CAN BE DONE. *TR
BOTH CARS I GOT FROM THE DEALER BROKE DOWN AND HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO DEALERSHIP. I TOLD THEM I DON'T WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM ANYMORE . I WAS IN THE CENTER LANE OF TRAFFIC WHEN I NOTICED A CAR COMING UP FROM BEHIND ME. TO AVOID GETTING HIT I ATTEMPTED TO THROTTLE DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL TO PASS A CAR IN THE SLOW LANE AND GET IN FRONT OF HIM TO AVOID THE SPEEDER COMING UP BEHIND ME. I GOT OUT OF MY CAR AND TO MY AMAZEMENT SAW MY ENTIRE GAS PEDAL ASSEMBLY LYING ON THE FLOOR OF MY CAR. I WAS ALSO AMAZED TO SEE THAT THE ENTIRE MOUNTING BRACKET FOR THE GAS PEDAL IS MADE OF EITHER A PLASTIC OR RESIN COMPOUND AND FROM WHAT I CAN TELL SO IS THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY. I WENT ELSEWHERE AND HAD THE FRONT ROTORS TURNED FOR LESS MONEY, HOWEVER, AFTER APPROX. 3 WEEKS THE SQUEAL CAME BACK. PRIOR TO OWNING THIS VEHICLE I OWNED A PONTIAC GRAND AM WHOSE BRAKES NEVER SQUEALED EVEN WHEN AFTERMARKET BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE PUT ON. IT WOULD APPEAR TO ME THAT A CAR OF THIS PRICE, WOULD NOT HAVE BRAKES THAT SQUEAL AFTER LESS THAN 7,000 TO 11,000 MILES BEING DRIVEN. *TR

THE 20'06 DODGE CHARGER HAD LESS THAN 32,000 MILES ON IT, AND WHILE DRIVING ONE DAY I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR TO MERGE ONTO INTERSTATE 5 DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND THE CAR STALLED. MOMENTARILY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND IT DID IT AGAIN AND THEN IT RESUMED POWER. I TOOK IT HOME, AND IT HAS DONE IT 5 MORE TIMES , 3 TIMES IN ONE AFTERNOON. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THE SAME STALLING PROBLEM, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE DONE ALL THE THEY COULD. WE HAVE REFRAIMED FROM DRIVING THE 1994 VEHICLE BECAUSE WE NO LONGER FELT SAFE DRIVING IT. *AK

THE CONSENSUS AMONG REPAIR FACILITIES IS THAT IT COULD LIKELY BE THE COMPUTER UNIT WITH THE SECONDARY CONCERN BEING THE POOR WIRING HARNESSES THAT DODGE IS KNOWN FOR. THE ISSUES ARE AS FOLLOWS: - ALL DASH LIGHTS COME ON WITHOUT WARNING AND FLASH CONTINUOUSLY FOR 10-15 SECONDS OR SO AND THEN GO OUT AGAIN- VARIOUS SPEEDS - ALL INSTRUMENT NEEDLES BEGIN TO SWEEP BACK AND FORTH LIKE WINDSHIELD WIPERS - SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL ACT LIKE ITS STALLING BUT SPUTTERS ALONG NEVERTHELESS UNTIL I TURN IT OFF. WHEN I TURN IT RIGHT BACK ON IT DOESN'T DO IT- THIS HAPPENS SOMETIMES WHEN I PULL INTO THE GARAGE AND IT SITS IN IDLE. - SOMETIMES ALL DASH LIGHTS JUST GO OUT WITHOUT WARNING- VARIOUS SPEEDS - RECENTLY (4-20-11) ALL DASH LIGHTS CAME ON, KEY CHIME KEPT CHIMING AND ENGINE BEGAN TO FALTER AND WOULD NOT ALLOW ACCELERATION...AT ALL. I HAVE TAKEN THE CHARGER AND MY CONCERNS TO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE FIRST 3 YEARS (OUT OF BUSINESS NOW, IN THE CHRYSLER REORGANIZATION) AND WAS TOLD EACH TIME: "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG; WE CAN'T DUPLICATE WHAT YOU ARE TELLING US. WARRANTY PERIOD FOR BRAKES IS 12,000 MILES (I FULLY UNDERSTAND THIS A WEAR PART). DEALERSHIP HAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN AVAILABLE, HOWEVER THE BRAKES ARE PAST THEIR WARRANTY. THE PROBLEM BEGAN WHIL WITHIN WARRANTY AND WAS NOT REPAIRED, AND NOW THE CAR CAN NOT BE DRIVEN UNTIL THE ROTORS ARE REPLACED/TURNED AND BRAKE PADS REPLACED.
