2007 DODGE CHARGER WITH AUTOMATIC FLOOR SHIFTER WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK ONCE STARTED. HAD NO PRIOR PROBLEMS. CAR STARTED FINE AND SHOWED NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ANYTHING. *TR
07 DODGE CHARGER, WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, AND CONSOLE SHIFTER. THE PLASTIC PIECE HOLDING THE PARK GEAR RELEASE SPRING BREAKS OFF AND THE VEHICLE CAN THEN NOT BE SHIFTED INTO GEAR. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS ENGINEERING FLAW THAT CHRYSLER AND IT'S DEALERSHIPS ARE WELL AWARE OF, AND CHOOSE NOT TO ADDRESS AS A WARRANTY OR RECALL ISSUE. THE VEHICLE I AM INVOLVED WITH HAS ONLY 46,000 MILES. THE PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD ENOUGH THAT THE AFTERMARKET PARTS INDUSTRY, SPECIFFICALLY DORMAN , MANUFACTURES AND SELLS A METAL REPLACEMENT FOR THIS OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE AND INADEQUATE PART. *TR
GEAR SHIFT STICKS IN PARK DUE TO CHEAP PLASTIC PART DESIGNED TO BREAK BUT WITH NO REMEDY OTHER THAN FULL REPLACEMENT OF SHIFTER. IT APPEARS TO OCCUR IN LARGE NUMBERS IF NOT EVERY DODGE CHARGER YEARS 2006-2009. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER BECAME STUCK IN PARK AND WOULD NOT MOVE. 2007 DODGE CHARGER AUTOMATIC FLOOR SHIFTER WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. *TR
MY CAR SHIFTER WON'T COME OUT OF PARK. I OWN A DODGE CHARGER 2007. HAD TO GET A TOW TRUCK TO TAKE CAR TO MECHANIC. WAS TOLD THAT THEY GET AN AVERAGE OF 2 OF THESE CARS PER WEEK FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. CHECKED IN INTERNET AND FOUND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. I WANT TO GET REIMBURSED FROM THE CHRYSLER/DODGE COMPANY FOR THIS EXPENSE ($518) BECAUSE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE FOR ALL THE CHARGER OWNERS. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER BROKE AND THE PIECE HAD TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED. UPDATED IVOQ 12/01/10 *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK WHEN FIRST STARTING THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE ABS WOULD LOCK ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE ABS AND TRACTION WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT REMOVED THE SHIFTER PANEL WIRE AND WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT FOR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
SHIFTER STUCK IN PARK. AFTER RESEARCH ON INTERNET, FOUND IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM. WHY WOULD A MAJOR CAR MANUFACTURER USE A CHEAP EASILY BREAKABLE PLASTIC PART IN A COMPONENT THAT IS USED SO FREQUENTLY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFT WAS STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SWITCH THAT ALLOWS THE GEAR SHIFT TO MOVE BETWEEN GEARS WAS DAMAGED AND WITHOUT IT THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT STAY LOCKED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. CHARGER STUCK IN PARK: TRIED TO START 2007 CHARGER AND IT WAS STUCK IN PARK. THIS HAS BEEN THE FIRST MAJOR PROBLEM I HAVE HAD WITH THIS CAR AND VERY INCONVENIENT. TRIED LOOKING AT THE MANUAL TO SEE IF IT WAS ANYTHING THAT COULD BE DONE ON MY END, BUT NOTHING WORKED. CAR IS STILL INOPERABLE AND I CAN NOT AFFORD TO GET IT TOWED. IT IS UNDER THREE YEARS OLD. *TR

THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE PARK LOCKOUT DEVICE WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND THE PLASTIC PART WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REMOVED THE LINKAGE FROM THE GEAR AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THE SHIFTER SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK, THE SHIFT LEVER WOULD NOT MOVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CABLES IN THE GEAR SHIFT WERE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THE MANUFACTURER AT WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 19,000.
FRONT OUTER TIE ROD ENDS OF 2007 DODGE CHARGER 3.5 LITER ARE OF A NON GREASABLE TYPE. THE GREASE WHICH IS UTILIZED AT TIME OF INSTALLATION BREAKS DOWN PREMATURELY (AT AROUND 30,000 MILES) AND TURNS TO A GRITTY CLAY IN THE BALL JOINT. THIS PREMATURE BREAKDOWN OF LUBRICATION RESULTS IN THE WEARING OUT AND FAILURE OF THE TIE ROD END WHICH WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF CONTROL OF SAID VEHICLE. THESE ARE MY FINDINGS AS I DID A FAILURE MODE EVALUATION AND UPGRADED THE OEM COMPONENT TO A GREASEABLE HIGH PERFORMANCE TIE ROD END. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WITHIN THE PAST EIGHT MONTHS, MY STEERING COLUMN HAS LOCKED UP WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN. THIS OCCURRED TWICE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN ONTO A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY. IN THE VERY FIRST INCIDENT THE COLUMN NOT ONLY LOCKED UP, BUT THE CAR WENT OFF ALSO.I HAD TO PLACE MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE HURRIEDLY, SHIFT TO PARK, AND RESTART THE CAR TO UNLOCK THE COLUMN. ON THE SECOND OCCASION THE STEERING COLUMN LOCKED UP CAUSING ME TO DO THE SAME ROUTINE AGAIN. THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPEN WAS IN A PARKING LOT SO IT WASN'T AS SCARY. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. *TR
I DROVE CAR THE NIGHT BEFORE AND EVERYTHING WORKED PROPERLY. THE NEXT DAY I STARTED THE CAR AND TRIED TO GO INTO REVERSE. THE GEAR WOULDN'T MOVE. IT WAS STUCK IN PARK. I TRIED THE PINK BUTTON BY THE GEAR BOX AND THAT WOULDN'T EVEN GET THE GEAR OUT OF PLACE. I HAD TO GET THE CAR TOWED TO A CHRYSLER/DODGE SERVICE. I WAS INFORMED I NEEDED A SHIFTER ASSEMBLY WHICH WAS NOT COVERED IN MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND MY MANUFACTURER WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. IT COST $350 TO FIX. I TALK WITH OTHER DODGE CHARGER OWNERS WHO HAVE SAID THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THEM AND HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO GET THIS FIXED. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM IF DIFFERENT PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT STATES AND DEALERSHIPS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE REPLACED BY THE SERVICE REGARDLESS IF HAVE A WARRANTY IF THIS IS A DEFECT CREATED ORIGINALLY BY THE MANUFACTURER. *TR

AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A CLIP IN THE GEAR SHIFTER MOST LIKELY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 66,000.
MY CAR IS STUCK IN PARK! I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED. I DROVE IT TODAY WITH NO PROBLEMS THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I TRY TO LEAVE AND IT WONT ALLOW ME TO PUT IT IN REVERSE. I HAVE SEEN A NUMEROUS AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE WITH PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM SO THIS IS SOMETHING THAT IS COMMON WITH THESE CARS. "MY CAR HASN'T BEEN REPAIRED YET!" I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT I DIDN'T CAUSE. *TR
BRAKES SQUEAL LOUDLY, STEERING SHACKS BADLY, ABS LIGHT NOW ON. TURNED ROTORS AND REPLACED BRAKE PADS AT 36,000 MILES. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS, WAS TOLD THAT NEW ROTORS WOULD HAVE TO BE PURCHASED. I HAVE OWNED NUMEROUS VEHICLES AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH ROTORS OR PREMATURE BRAKE PAD REPAIRS. *TR
SHIFTER STUCK IN PARK. CAR DROVE FINE, PARKED IT AT NIGHT, THE NEXT MORNING THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK. RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ONLINE, FOUND A FIX (TO PREVENT CALLING A TOW), AND DROVE THE CHARGER TO THE DEALER. I EXPECTED THIS TO BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL (#08V583000). BUT IT WAS NOT, CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY STATED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED. HOW MANY TIMES DOES THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN BEFORE THE MANUFACTURER WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT? ADMIT TO THE PROBLEM, PAY FOR THE REPAIR, AND CONSUMERS WOULD BE SATISFIED. VERY DISPLEASED WITH CHRYSLER/DODGE. OTHER PROBLEMS MANUFACTURER WILL NOT PAY FOR, ROTOR/BRAKE PADS WEARING PREMATURELY/LOUD SQUEAL, DRIVERS WINDOW LEAVES STARCH MARKS ON GLASS, ABS LIGHT ON, ENGINE SPUTTERS. *TR
DRIVERSIDE WINDOW MECHANISM CAUSES SCRATCHES ON WINDOW. MANUFACTURER STATED NOT A DEFECT. VEHICLE HAS 36,000, OUT OF WARRANTY. VEHICLE IS TAKEN CARE OF, NOT ABUSED. CHRYSLER SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
2007 DODGE CHARGER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN SHE RETURNED TO HER VEHICLE, SHE WAS UNABLE TO GET THE GEAR OUT OF PARK. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SHIFTER AND CABLE. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE REAR WINDOW WAS DAMAGED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE HEATING ELEMENT IN THE DEFROSTER GRID. IT OCCURRED WHEN THE WINDOW SHATTERED ON NOVEMBER 18, 2011. IT WAS THE SECOND TIME SHE USED THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. THE FIRST USE WAS IN 2010. SHE HAS SINCE REALIZED DURING THAT FIRST USE, THE HEATING ELEMENT IN THE DEFROSTER GRID MALFUNCTIONED THROUGH OVERHEATING WHICH CAUSED A BROWN SPOT ON THE REAR WINDOW. THE AUTOMATIC REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER TIMER FAILED TO TAKE EFFECT CAUSING COMPLETE DRAINAGE OF THE BATTERY. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT SATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE ENGINE FAILURE WAS POSSIBLY CAUSED BY NOT USING THE CORRECT ENGINE OIL OR A PREMATURE OIL SLUDGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 54,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES INTERMITTENTLY FAILED AND THEN CORRECTED THEMSELVES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (NAPLETONS) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
OUR CAR GOT STUCK IN PARK, COULDN'T SHIFT GEAR. APPARENTLY GEARS GOT STUCK. HAD TO GET IS TOWED, SENT TO DEALER. ALTHOUGH DEALESHIP SAID IT IS COMMON THING THAT HAPPENS TO CHARGERS, WASN'T COVERED THROUGH WARRANTLY. HAD TO PAY FOR PARTS AND LABOR. *TR
UPON ARRIVING FOR MY SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE AND TIRE EXCHANGE FROM SNOWS TO SUMMER, I WAS INFORMED THAT MY TIE ROD ENDS ON BOTH FRONT WHEELS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS THEY WERE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ON. SO I INSTRUCTED THEM TO GO AHEAD AND FIX IT AS I NEEDED TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND SAFETY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE WHEN YOU TRANSPORT YOUR CHILD ON A REGULAR BASIS (AS WELL AS MYSELF). I DIDN'T REALIZE AT THAT TIME THIS WAS SOMETHING THAT IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OR I WOULD HAVE GONE TO A DAIMLERCHRYSLER/DODGE DEALER TO GET IT FIXED. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A CAR WITH 33,000 MILES TO NEED TWO NEW TIE RODS. THIS WAS AN EMERGENCY REPAIR AS I HAD NO PREVIOUS INDICATION THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM AT ALL. LEAVING WITHOUT GETTING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED WAS NOT AN OPTION AS I AM NOT WILLING TO PUT MINE OR MY DAUGHTER'S SAFETY IN JEOPARDY AS SHE WAS WITH ME AT THE TIME OF THE APPOINTMENT. I AM AWARE OF THE DAMAGE TO THE CAR THAT CAN BE CAUSED WHEN A TIE ROD (OR BOTH) FAILS AND DIDN'T THINK TWICE ABOUT GOING AHEAD WITH THE REPAIRS. UPON SPEAKING WITH A REPRESENTATIVE AFTER THE FACT TO GET A REIMBURSEMENT (FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE BACK OF THE OWNERS MANUAL REGARDING EMERGENCY REPAIRS NOT DONE AT A DEALER), DAIMLERCHRYSLER STATED THEY WOULD ONLY REPLACE THE PARTS. THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH AS I DID NOT HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION. I DO NOT FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING, WHICH WOULD HAVE OTHERWISE BEEN FULLY COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY BY GOING TO A DAIMLERCHRYSLER DEALER, ESPECIALLY BEING A SAFETY ISSUE. HAD THE TIE RODS INDEED BROKEN WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, NOT ONLY WOULD IT HAVE INCURRED ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF DAMAGE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY UNSAFE FOR MYSELF AND MY 6 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. RESEARCH OVER THE INTERNET HAS SINCE INDICATED THIS IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH DAIMLERCHRYSLER VEHICLES AND THIS IS NOT A REPAIR I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE MECHANIC THEN STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE GEAR SHIFT WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 87,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.

THE WINDSHIELD WIPER WAS ACTIVATED; HOWEVER, WHEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPER WAS DEACTIVATED, THE MOTOR CONTINUED TO FUNCTION. ALSO, THE MOTOR REMAINED OPERABLE AFTER THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE VEHICLE AND ENGINE OFF
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the gear shifter was stuck in park(P). The contact had experienced approximately 5 failures and had the vehicle towed. The contact stated that once the vehicle was parked the gear shifter remained stuck in park(P). The contact stated had to manually depress the button under the gear shifter to move the gear shifter. The contact stated that after the first failure, the vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found; however, an unknown part was greased. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was referred to the local dealer and notified of NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V583000 (POWER TRAIN). The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the residence and had not been driven since. The failure mileage was unknown.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS THE "CHECK ENGINE" WARNING LIGHT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE ENGINE STALLED AND FAILED TO RESTART. THE FAILURES OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. IN ADDITION, WHENEVER DISPENSING FUEL TO THE FULL CAPACITY LEVEL AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF FUEL SPILLED FROM THE TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE FUEL PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTIONS. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE WHEELS FROM MY VEHICLE, I DISCOVERED THAT THE FACTORY TIRE TOOL WOULD NOT FIT ON THE STOCK LUG NUTS. THE LUG NUTS ARE A TWO PIECE DESIGN, A STEEL NUT WITH A SHEET METAL JACKET COVERING IT. THE JACKET HAS BECOME WARPED AND THE TIRE TOOL WILL NOT FIT. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE WITH A MECHANIC. HE STATED IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I THEN CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE IT SERVICED BEFORE I FILED A COMPLAINT. I REALIZE THIS MAY NOT SEEM LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE, I WOULD NOT WANT MY SPOUSE OR MYSELF TO BE STRANDED ALONG A HIGHWAY OR REMOTE ROAD BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO CHANGE A FLAT TIRE DUE TO A POOR LUG NUT DESIGN. *TR
ON THE MORNING OF OCTOBER 16, 2009 MY 2007 DODGE CHARGER DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF ANY PROBLEMS AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT GO ON. I STARTED MY ENGINE AND PROCEED TO CHANGE GEARS AND IT WAS LOCK. I DID KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG SO AFTER OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES TOWING TO THE DEALER-SHIP THE MECHANIC SAID THAT IT IS BROKEN GEAR SHIFT MECHANISM THEN MECHANIC SAID, "IT WAS NOT MY FAULT. IT IS A INTERNAL PROBLEM AND THERE IS NO REASON WHY IT BROKE." TO MAKE MATTERS MORE DIFFICULT FOR ME THE WARRANTY THAT CAME WITH THE CAR WILL NOT EVEN COVER THIS PART. THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE CAR. WHAT IF WAS DRIVING AND COULD NOT SHIFT BACK TO PARK OR REVERSE WOULD I HAVE HAD TO BEEN A ACCIDENT AND RISK MY LIFE? TO CORRECT THE FAILURE IT WILL COST ME TO PAY CLOSE TO $400.00 TO REPLACE/REPAIR. LET ME REMIND YOU GUYS THAT I DID NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR IT IS SOMETHING THAT BROKE BY ITSELF. I TAKE CARE OF MY CAR I SERVICE WHEN NEEDED AND I ONLY USE TO COMMUTE TO FOR ERRANDS, WORK AND HOME. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH SHE REAR-ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE WHEN THE OTHER VEHICLE RAN THE STOP SIGN. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. AN OCCUPANT IN THE VEHICLE THAT CAUSED THE CRASH WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE DUE TO SEVERE INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT IS AVAILABLE. A LETTER WAS SENT BY THE MANUFACTURER STATING THAT THE FRAME WAS NOT HIT HARD ENOUGH TO DEPLOY THE AIR BAGS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.

VEHICLE HAS STALLED OUT SEVERAL TIMES SINCE MY PURCHASE. VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT IN 2009 WITH APPROXIMATELY 13500 MILES ON IT. IT STALLED THE FIRST TIME ABOUT A MONTH LATER. SINCE THEN IT HAS STALLED APPROXIMATELY TEN TIMES. EACH TIME IT OCCURS WHEN SLOWING FOR A STOP, OR WHILE ACTUALLY STOPPED. THE ENGINE WILL SHUTTER LIKE IT IS BEING CHOKED. IT WILL THEN REV SLIGHTLY AND THEN CUT OFF. THIS HAS OCCURRED IN DIFFERENT WEATHER CONDITIONS AND TEMPERATURES. CONTACT WITH LOCAL DEALER HAS NOT PRODUCED ANY ANSWERS. THEY SAY THE PROBLEM HAS TO BE REPLICATED HOWEVER IT DOES NOT OCCUR WITH ANY CERTAIN FREQUENCY. SEVERAL OTHER RELATED COMPLAINTS CAN BE FOUND ON THE INTERNET WITH NO SOLUTION. *TR
DODGE/CHRYSLER FLOOR SHIFTER RECALL [K39] DODGE KNOWS THEY HAVE A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THE FLOOR SHIFTER, BUT IS ONLY COVERING A 3 MONTH [6/25/07-9/21/07] MANUFACTURING SPAN. DODGE NEEDS TO COVER THE WHOLE YEAR[2007]. OUR CAR WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY WHEN THE SPRING BROKE AND WE COULD NO LONGER GET IT OUT OF PARK.

HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR-ENDED THREE TIMES, ALMOST HIT WHEN ACCELERATING ONTO THE FREEWAY BY A CAR ALREADY ON THE FREEWAY BECAUSE CAR TRIED TO STALL, AND CAR STALLED ON RAILROAD TRACKS AFTER WAITING FOR A TRAIN AND THEN PUTTING CAR IN DRIVE. CAR HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF SHOP FOUR TIMES WITH RANDOM ITEMS REPLACED, BUT NO DIAGNOSIS HAS BEEN MADE AND THE ISSUE REMAINS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURES. THE TECHNICIAN CLEANED THE FUEL INJECTION AND PERFORMED AN OIL CHANGE. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS A REPLACEMENT OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERN OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I HAD JUST LEFT MY RESIDENCE TO TRAVEL TO WORK IN MY 2007 DODGE CHARGER, 2.7L V6, I HAD MADE IT 6 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE WHEN MY ENGINE BLEW. THE TEMP GAGE NEVER SHOWED THERE WAS ANY KIND OF OVERHEATING PROBLEM. THE CHECK OIL LIGHT CAME ON FOR A FEW SECONDS AND TURNED OFF. A FEW MINUTES LATER IT CAME ON AGAIN AND PUFF OF WHITE SMOKE CAME OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND THE MOTOR SEIZED. FROM THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE ON THE INTERNET I HAVE FOUND THAT THE 2.7 LITER DODGE/CHRYSLER MOTOR HAS HAD A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH OIL SLUDGE ISSUES THAT WOULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO SEIZE. SO FAR CHRYSLER HAS NOT TAKEN ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE 2.7L ENGINE. THE BOTTOM END OF THE MOTOR HAS TO BE REBUILT OR REPLACED TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. AT THIS POINT THE WARRANTY COMPANY IS BLAMING ME FOR THE MECHANICAL FAILURE OF THE OIL FILTER SEAL ON THE ENGINE. *TR
