THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THEY WOULD CONSIDER ASSISTING WITH REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 54,000.

HIGH SPEED RADIATOR FAN BLADES ON 2007 3.5L DODGE CHARGER BREAK APART AND CAUSES DAMAGE TO THE RADIATOR, RESULTING IN FAILURE OF THE RADIATOR AND SUBSEQUENT REPLACEMENT OF BOTH RADIATOR AND THE RADIATOR FAN. CONSEQUENTIAL REPAIR EXCEEDS $700. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 56,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
VEHICLE BROUGHT HOME AND PARKED ON 7/17 AS NORMAL. 7/18 AROUND 4PM ATTEMPTED TO START VEHICLE AND GO TO LOCAL GROCERY STORE. VEHICLE WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK. CALLED CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403, WAS REFERRED TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP AT 1-800-992-1997. WAS TOLD TO REMOVE THE CHROME BEZEL AROUND TOP OF CONSOLE AND REMOVE THE PACKAGE TRAY ON THE SIDE AND PUSH THE SQUARE PINK TAB DEVICE INWARD TO RELEASE THE SHIFT MECHANISM. DID NOT WORK. THEN WAS TOLD OF A SERVICE CAMPAIGN ON SIMILAR VEHICLES BUT WHEN I GAVE THEM THE VIN I WAS INFORMED MINE WAS NOT INCLUDED. STARTED USING GOOGLE TO SEARCH FOR SIMILAR INCIDENTS AND FOUND THEM TO BE NUMEROUS. SEEMS WE HAVE A FACTORY DEFECT HERE THAT IS KNOWN AND FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES IS A TIME BOMB WAITING TO NAP PEOPLE AT ITS FIRST OPPORTUNITY AND LEAVE THEM STRANDED. MY CAR HAS 92,000 MILES ON IT AND AS FAR AS I CAN TELL I AM LUCKY TO HAVE MADE IT THAT FAR. I WILL BE ON THE PHONE WITH CHRYSLER TODAY.. 7/19, TO GIVE THEM AN EARFUL OF MY DIS SATISFACTION WITH THIS WHOLE SCENE. *KB
I WENT TO DRIVE MY 2007 DODGE CHARGER AND IT WAS STUCK IN PARK. NO OTHER PROBLEMS. I INVESTIGATED AND FOUND OUT THAT CHRYSLER HAS A DEFECTIVE PART IN THESE CARS. THEY WANT TO CHARGE THE CONSUMER TO FIX THE PROBLEM ALTHOUGH IT IS WELL KNOWN THAT IT IS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM. (ITS A CHEAP PLASTIC PINK RELEASE BUTTON THAT GOES OUT AT ANY GIVEN TIME CAUSING THE CAR TO BE STUCK IN PARK) THIS IS NOT THE CONSUMER'S PROBLEM THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED INSTEAD I WAS TOLD SINCE I WAS THE SECOND OWNER OF THE CAR THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN REALLY DO. IT COSTS ROUGHLY $500.00 TO BE FIXED. REALLY MAKES A HAPPY CUSTOMER QUESTION THE QUALITY OF THEIR SERVICE. *KB
THERE WAS NO SIGN THAT THERE WAS ANY PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR. I GOT IN THE VEHICLE, STARTED THE IGNITION, AND WAS NOT ABLE TO SHIFT THE GEAR FROM PARK TO REVERSE. I HAD A LOCAL TOWING COMPANY COME AND PICK UP THE CAR, AND THEY TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE TOWER SAID THERE'S BEEN RECALLS ON THE COLUMN SHIFTER FOR THE DODGE CHARGERS. AFTER THE MECHANIC LOOKED AT THE CAR, HE SAID THAT YES IT WAS THE COLUMN SHIFTER AND IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. IT WILL COST $380.35 TO HAVE IT ALL REPLACED. SINCE I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO DAMAGE THE CAR, AND THERE'S A RECALL ON THE PARTICULAR ITEM THAT IS BEING REPLACED I DON'T SEE WHY I SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO HAVE SOME FORM OF REIMBURSEMENT SENT TO ME. *TR
I HAD PARKED MY 2007 DODGE CHARGER R/T, AND LATER THAT NIGHT ABOUT TO LEAVE FOR WORK MY GEAR SHIFT WAS STUCK IN PARK. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO GET IT UNSTUCK WITH NO LUCK. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED DUE TO THE FACT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE HOWEVER MY VEHICLE WAS NOT IN THE TIME FRAME FOR THE RECALL. THERE HAVE BEEN HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS AND YET NO ONE HAS HELPED US. *TR
MY CAR IS STUCK IN PARK. PRESSING THE BRAKE DOESN'T HELP AND THE SHIFTLOCK RELEASE DOESN'T HELP. NO EVENTS LEAD UP TO THE ISSUE, I GOT IN MY CAR AND COULDN'T PUT IT IN GEAR. LUCKILY I WAS AT MY HOUSE, BUT THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED ANYWHERE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE OWNER AND HE NOTICED THAT THE PARK LOCKOUT COMPONENT WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
CENTER CONSOLE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERIOR PART BREAKS AND LOCKS CAR INTO PARK. SAFETY ISSUE: 1. IN THE EVENT OF A POTENTIAL CAR JACKING OR LIKE INCIDENT DRIVER MAYBE UNABLE TO FLEE THE SCENE AND MAYBE INJURED OR KILLED. 2. POSSIBLY STUCK IN HIGH SPEED LANES OF HIGHWAY AFTER A LONG HWY DELAY. THIS IS A CONSTANT ISSUE FOR MOST OF THE CHARGERS SEARCH INTERNET AND YOU'LL SEE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE SHIFT ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V583000 (POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: LEVER AND LINKAGE: COLUMN SHIFT); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,423.

THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER BROKE RESULTING IN THE INABILITY TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER OUT OF THE "PARK" POSITION. I SEE THAT OTHER CARS THAT ARE VERY SIMILAR TO MINE, IF NOT THE SAME CAR AS MINE, THAT HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM HAVE HAD FACTORY RECALLS ON THIS...... 2005-2007 DODGE CHARGER, MAGNUM AND CHRYSLER 300 .....BUT UNFORTUNATELY MINE DOESN'T AND I DON'T KNOW WHY. *TR

TRAVELING OUT OF STATE AND RECOVERING FROM TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT. 2007 DODGE CHARGER SXT WAS OPERATING WITHOUT INCIDENT. STOPPED TO LOOK AT YARD SALE AND CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK UPON RETURN. INTERNET RESEARCH SHOWS THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. CAR LEFT ON ROAD AT THIS TIME, WHILE SEARCHING FOR ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION TO DOCTOR FOR FOLLOW-UP ON KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY. THE RESET FOR THE SHIFT LOCK WILL NOT WORK AT THIS TIME. *TR

THE SHIFT ASSEMBLY THAT ALLOWS THE CAR TO GO FROM PARK TO DRIVE HAS BROKEN. CALLED DODGE AND ASKED ABOUT A RECALL AND THEY STATED ONE HAS BEEN ISSUED BUT NOT FOR MY CAR DUE TO THE TIME FRAME IT WAS BUILT. SO NO RECALL FOR MY CAR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARDS CAUSE IT COULD SLIP OUT OF GEAR OR THE BRAKES COULD FELL OR WHO KNOWS ELSE WILL HAPPEN. I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON CERTAIN MODELS BASED ON TIME THE VEHICLE CAME OUT OF PRODUCTION. ALTHOUGH I'M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RE-CALLS, THEY REFUSE TO FIX MY CAR. WHILE UNDER TEN MPH IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, CAR STALLED, HAD TO PUT VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART, NO CODES THROWN AND ENGINE RAN FINE AFTER. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP AT A GAS STATION, THE CAR STARTED STUTTERING AND LATER ON STALLED AT A RED LIGHT IN THE CITY. HAS BECOME THIS WAY ONLY AFTER FILLING UP THE FUEL TANK COMPLETELY, IT WILL STUTTER AND SOMETIMES STALL AT COMPLETE STOPS. I HAVE STOPPED FROM FILLING UP COMPLETELY TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS NOW. IT IS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER RT RWD. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF IN ORDER TO RESET THE LIGHT AND FOR THE VEHICLE TO RETURN TO ITS NORMAL SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER . THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 202,000.
MY 2007 DODGE CHARGER HAD A PART FAILURE IN THE SHIFTER MECHANISM THAT PREVENTED IT FROM BEING MOVED FROM PARK. THIS OCCURRED AT 8 PM AT NIGHT ON TOP OF A PARKING GARAGE WHEN I HAD MY FAMILY WITH ME. IT TOOK OVER AN HOUR TO LOCATE A TOWING COMPANY THAT COULD GET TO ME BECAUSE OF THE PARKING GARAGE. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THE PROBLEM WAS A CHEAP PLASTIC PART THAT HAD BEEN RECALLED ON THE AVENGER BUT NOT THE CHARGER AND THEY HAD BEEN REPLACING ABOUT A DOZEN PER WEEK. DODGE SHOULD RECALL THIS PART AND REPAY THE OWNERS THAT HAVE ALREADY HAD TO MAKE THE REPAIR. *TR
THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL CAUSES THE CAR TO LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING. IT MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO ACCELERATE. IT USUALLY HAPPENS ON A COLD START AND HAS HAPPENED ON OCCASION AFTER THE CAR HAS WARMED UP. THE DEALER CLAIMS THAT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNLESS IT HAPPENS WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP, BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY TO READ AN ERROR CODE. *TR
PURCHASED 07 R/T CHARGER FROM DEALER BRAND NEW,,TREATED LIKE BABY, CHANGED OIL AND HAD ALL SERVICE COMPLETED AT DEALERSHIP. WITHOUT NOTICE CAR DIES ON STREET AS IF VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS. GAS LIGHT ON. PUT GAS IN VEHICLE ONLY TO START UP MAKING AN EXTREMELY LOUD KNOCKING SOUND. MIND YOU VEHICLE HAD BEEN RUNNING LIKE A CHARM. HAD VEHICLE TOWED ONLY TO BE TOLD #6 CYLINDER BLOWN,MOTOR GONE. WHAT IS DODGE DOING ABOUT THIS. APPARENTLY CERRITOS DODGE IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON 6 CHARGERS THAT NEED ENTIRELY NEW ENGINES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER AWD. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH WHEN SHE HEARD AN ABNORMAL KNOCKING FROM THE ENGINE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE ADVISED HER THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NO OIL ON THE DIP STICK. THE MECHANIC ADDED 4 QUARTS OF OIL TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER ADVISED HER THAT THE TEFLON PISTONS WERE CONSUMING A LARGE AMOUNT OF OIL AND WAS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE. THE DEALER DID NOT FIND A FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD AN OIL CHANGE LESS THAN 2,500 MILES AGO AND THE RATE OF WHICH THE VEHICLE WAS CONSUMING OIL WAS ABNORMAL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,925.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH AND LEAVING A TOLL BOOTH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. HE COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY ONE DOZEN TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER REPAIRED A CABLE WIRE TO THE WHEEL WELL. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER YET THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
AFTER DEALERSHIP CHANGING ALL 8 COILS AND CAM SENSOR THERE IS NO CHANGE IN DRIVEABILITY. CAR STILL CUTS OUT SPONTANEOUSLY, BUCKS, AND SNORTS WHEN DOING SIMPLE (NO DRAMA) PASSES. WE WENT TO THE MOVIES AND WHEN WE CAME OUT THE CAR WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK. NO MATTER WHAT WE DID THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULD NOT MOVE. WE HAD TO GET A RIDE HOME. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH CHARGERS AND TOLD US HOW TO GET INTO THE GEAR SHIFT MECHANISM SO THAT WE COULD GET IT OUT OF PARK. THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME IT IS PUT IN PARK WE HAVE TO TAKE IT APART. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE THIS FIXED ON THE CAR WHEN IT IS CONSIDERED A COMMON PROBLEM. DODGE NEEDS TO MAKE THEIR CUSTOMERS HAPPY, WE WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING THIS VEHICLE UNTIL A RECALL IS MADE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. WE FEEL IT IS POOR SALESMANSHIP TO NOT DISCLOSE THIS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SALE. WE HAVE BEEN DODGE OWNERS FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS BUT THAT IS DUE TO CHANGE WITHOUT FURTHER HELP ON THIS PROBLEM. *TR

I HAD TO REMOVE THE UPHOLSTERY AROUND THE GEAR SHIFT SELECTOR TO GET TO THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE TO USE A SCREW DRIVER TO MOVE THE BROKEN PIECE SO THAT I CAN SHIFT THE CAR, UNTIL I HAVE TIME TO MAKE IT TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS FLAT AND THE WHEEL RIM WAS CRACKED. THE WHEEL RIM CRACKED ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT REFERENCED RECALL 09E002000, WHEELS:RIM AND HAS CALLED THE MANUFACTURER FOR TWO WEEKS AND NO ONE RETURNED HIS CALL. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 27,570.

LOOSING ALL ELECTRONICS IN THE CAR. AGAIN, NO RECALL ANOTHER $600+ OUT OF MY POCKET. NOW JUST THIS WEEK THE "PINK THINKY" HAS MESSED UP. THIS LEFT ME STRANDED IN ANY EMPTY PARKING LOT AT WORK ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND MY HUSBAND AN HOUR AWAY. THANK GOODNESS THE MECHANIC SHOP I GO TO COULD TELL ME HOW TO OVERRIDE AND GET ME HOME. OF COURSE I CALLED THE DODGE DEALERSHIP FIRST, BUT LOW AND BEHOLD THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT HELP ME. THE ANSWER, "I CAN SEND A TOW TRUCK. I DO KNOW THERE IS AN OVERRIDE BUT I'M NOT SURE HOW IT WORKS." REALLY! THREE THINGS RIGHT THERE A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED ON! THIS CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE THE PROBLEMS IT DOES WITHOUT SOMEONE TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR CORRECTING IT. MITSIBISHI HAS DODGE BEAT BY ALONG SHOT! 00 GALANT, WAS TRADED IN FOR THE CHARGER WITH 260K MILES ON IT, NEVER SPENT 1 DIME THAT WAS NOT FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, AND IT STILL RAN, DROVE AND HANDLED LIKE IT DID THE DAY I BOUGHT IT. BUT I JUST HAD TO HAVE THE NEW DODGE CHARGER, BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART! THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER DODGE ANYTHING IN MY DRIVEWAY.
