TAKATA RECALL - WHILE EXITING A HIGHWAY INTO A SHOPPING CENTER, MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. MY WIFE WAS UNABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY WE WERE ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BEFORE AN ACCIDENT OCCURRED. THIS EPISODE WAS VERY FRIGHTENING. VERY UNSAFE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT CAUSED THIS, BUT THIS DESPERATELY NEEDS RECALLING. I PUT CAR IN THE PARK POSITION TO GET OUT OF THE CAR TO GET SOMETHING. I TURNED AROUND AND MY CAR WAS REVERSING DOWN THE STREET. I HAD TO RUN AND OPEN THE DOOR AND JUMP IN THE CAR TO STOP IT. IT WAS IN REVERSE WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR. I WAS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.

MY 2007 DODGE CHARGER WITH 98,000 MILES JUST THREW A COOLING FAN BLADE THROUGH THE RADIATOR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, LEAVING ME ON THE SIDE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY. I KNOW THIS IS A RE-OCCURRING ISSUE BECAUSE I AM ON THE CITY COUNCIL FOR A SMALL SUBURB OF HOUSTON AND WE HAD SEVERAL POLICE CARS DO THE SAME THING. SINCE THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT THAT COULD LEAVE THE DRIVER BROKEN DOWN IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION (INCLEMENT WEATHER, LATE AT NIGHT, BAD PART OF TOWN), I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE RECALLED. THE REPAIR COSTS A LITTLE UNDER $1,000 TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND COOLING ASSEMBLY.
COOLING FAN BLADES SHATTERED AND PUNCTURED RADIATOR WHILE CAR WAS SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AT IDLE. CAUSED LOSS OF COOLANT AND COOLING SYSTEM FAILURE. NO EXTERNAL CAUSE FOR DEFECT FOUND. COST OF REPAIR ESTIMATED $1000.00

TAKATA RECALL - I CONTACTED CHRYSLER IN JUNE 2016 CONCERNING THE PASSENGER AIR BAG RECALL. I ALREADY WAITED A LONG TIME FOR THE DRIVER AIR BAG TO BE FIXED. I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM CHRYSLER/DODGE. THE CURRENT RECALL STATUS SAYS:RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOREVER. DO THEY INTEND TO FIX IT; OR JUST WAIT FOR MY 2007 CAR TO DIE. BOB

UPON FURTHER INSPECTION UNDER THE HOOD, IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE FAN BLADES SEPARATED AND FRACTURED INTO THE RADIATOR. ALSO, ANTIFREEZE WAS ON THE GROUND NEAR THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO MANUFACTURER RECALL TO ADDRESS THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTED THE CONTACT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.

I'VE HAD MANY ISSUES WRONG WITH MY CAR. THE FIRST COMPLAINT I WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS IS HOW THE CAR SHUTS OFF ON ME WITHOUT WARNING. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND ON BUSY STREETS, MY CAR WILL SHUT OFF, BUT IT WILL START RIGHT BACK UP. THIS IS A DANGEROUS HAZARD AND SAFETY CONCERN. I'VE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE GRESHAM DODGE (ON NE BURNSIDE) DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE (503-666-2277). I WAS TOLD "IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, BRING IT BACK" THERE WAS NO CONCERN WITH DODGE THAT THEY WERE SENDING A DANGEROUS VEHICLE BACK OUT ON THE ROAD, THAT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS WAS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED NOW, NOT LATER. DODGE NEVER SOLVED THAT ISSUE. FURTHERMORE, MY CAR WAS STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION ON THE EVE OF 4-18-16. I TRIED TO GET IT INTO GEAR, WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS. I HAD TO CALL FOR A TOW TRUCK. WHILE WAITING FOR A TOW, I DECIDED TO GOOGLE DODGE CHARGERS STUCK IN PARK. ON YOUTUBE, THERE WERE SO MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THEY HAD VIDEO OF HOW TO GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK. YOU HAD TO PRY THE COVERING OFF OF THE SHIFTING UNIT. STICK A PEN INSIDE TO MOVE A WIRE AROUND, IN ORDER TO GET THE CAR INTO GEAR. IT WORRIES ME THAT DODGE IS AWARE OF TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND OTHER ISSUES WITH THEIR VEHICLES, YET NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO FIX IT. I COULD OF SERIOUSLY BEEN HURT OR SERIOUSLY HURT SOMEONE ELSE WHILE BEING ON THE FREEWAY AND MY CAR JUST SHUTTING OFF. THEY SHOULD BE CONCERNED ENOUGH TO WANT TO LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE AND FIX IT. AS I STATED BEFORE, THERE ARE NUMEROUS VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE WITH OTHER PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE VERY SAME ISSUES. I DID FILE A COMPLAINT ON THE BBB WEBSITE, ALONG WITH EVERYONE ELSE. MY MAIN OBJECTIVE FOR THIS SITE IS TO BRING OUT HOW DANGEROUS IT IS TO OPERATE MY CAR UNDER THESE CONDITIONS, THAT DODGE DID NOT SEEM TO CARE ABOUT. SOUNDS AS IF THERE ARE TRANSMISSION AND OR ENGINE ISSUES WITH THE CAR THAT NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION.
CAR BATTERY EXPLODED IN THE TRUNK OF THE CAR.
I HAVE A 2007 DODGE CHARGER SXT WITH 60K MILES. ON 4/8/2016 WHILE BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AT 7:45 A.M. HEADING TO WORK I HERE A PLASTIC BREAKING NOISE AND A LARGE THUMP SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR. I QUICKLY GOT OUT TO SEE WHAT I HAD HIT ROLLING OUT THE DRIVE WHEN I NOTICED WATER, HEARD HISSING AND NOTICED BIG BROKEN PLASTIC PIECES ALL ON THE GROUND. I TURNED THE CAR OFF CALLED MY HUSBAND TO TURN AROUND, LOOK AT THE CAR AND THEM DROP ME OFF AT WORK ON HIS WAY TO WORK. HE POPPED THE HOOD TO MY CHARGER AND HE SHOWED ME 2 BROKEN FAN BLADES AND HOUSING SURROUNDING MY RADIATOR AND WHERE THE FAN BLADES HAD PUNCTURED NUMEROUS HOLES INTO THE RADIATOR WHERE THE FLUID WAS COMING OUT FROM. HAD TO GET TO WORK SO AWAY WE WENT. WE CALLED A SHOP TO PICKUP MY CAR AND HAVE THE REPAIRS MADE. I REMEMBERED THIS SIGHT AND MY HUSBAND CHECKED OUT THE RECALLS AND COMPLAINTS REGARDING MY CAR WHICH BRINGS ME TO WRITE THIS COMPLAINT IN HOPES THAT REIMBURSEMENT FOR MY RECENT REPAIR WILL BE HANDLED AS IT SEEMS OTHERS HAVE HAD AND BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO. TAKATA RECALL I LOOKED UP THE VIN NUMBER AND MY CAR IS ON THE LIST
THE BRIDGE ON THE MAIN HIGHWAY HAD STANDING WATER. THE ROAD WAS NOT BLOCKED OFF AND COULDN'T SEE IT UNTIL YOU GOT UP TO IT. TRAFFIC WAS IN FRONT AND BEHIND ME SO I COULD NOT TURN AROUND. I WENT UNDER THE BRIDGE BY PIGGY WIGGLY IN POTOTOC, ME AND SOON AS I DID MY CAR STARTED SPUTTERING AND I PULLED OVER AND CAR CUT OFF. I HAD JUST BOUGHT THE CAR THAT MONDAY AND THIS HAPPENED THURSDAY. DEALERSHIP TOWER CAR TO SHOP AND SAID THE WATER MADE MOTOR LOCK UP. HAD CAR TAKEN TO ANOTHER MECHANIC WHICH SAID SAME THING. NOW I'M STUCK PAYING FOR A CAR I CAN NOT DRIVE CAUSE OF THE ROAD CONDITION. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A STATE HIGHWAY . MAYOR TOLD ME CALL INSURANCE PERSON TIM GUNTHER AND TIM TOLD ME IT'S STATE HWY SO I HAVE TO CALL DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. THIS WAS GOING TO BE A CAR FOR MY DAUGHTER AND NOW I AM STUCK PAYING FOR IT AND NEEDING A MOTOR DUE TO THE ROAD HOLDING WATER AND NOT BEING BLOCKED OFF. I WAS HEADED TO WORK AND HAD TO CALL MY BOSS TO PICK ME UP.
TAKATA RECALL- DEALERSHIP HAS NO IDEA ON WHEN THEY WILL BE GETTING IN REPLACEMENT. WAS TOLD TODAY (MARCH 28) TO CALL BACK AGAIN IN 2 TWO WEEKS. AND, IF THEY DO NOT HAVE THEM THEN, TO CALL BACK IN ANOTHER TWO WEEKS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THIS RECALL HAS BEEN KNOW OF FOR QUITE SOME TIME. AND, IT IS A SERIOUS ONE. I ALSO CALLED THE FAC RECALL ASSITSANCE CENTER. THEY ALSO DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE DEALERSHIPS WILL RECEIVE THE REPLACEMENTS.

DRIVING A 2007 DODGE CHARGER WITH ABOUT 21K MILES. YESTERDAY, WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN, I TOOK A RIGHT TURN AND WHILE NAVIGATING THE TURN WITH THE SIGNAL ON, I HEARD A LOUD PLASTIC-ON-PLASTIC POPPING AND CREAKING NOISE. WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL WENT OFF, THERE WAS A LOUD POP AND THE LEFT SIGNAL TURNED ON!! NOW, WHEN I TURN RIGHT I HEAR CLICKING FROM THE WHEEL/COLUMN AND WHEN THE SIGNAL CANCELS IT DOES IT SO HARD THAT IT ACTIVATES THE TURN SIGNAL OF THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. I'M SURE THE OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD BELIEVE I'M CONFUSED WHICH WAY I'M GOING ' I'M SO GLAD IT DIDN'T CAUSE AN ACCIDENT! SO THE TURN SIGNAL IN THE STEERING WHEEL MAKES A PLASTIC 'POPPING' NOISE, AND IS MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STEER ON A TURN. THE DEALER SAID IT'S THE CLOCKSPRING. NUMEROUS POSTS ON FORUMS MENTION THE SAME ISSUE. THERE'S BEEN A RECALL ON CHRYSLER/DODGE MINIVANS IN THE EARLY 2000'S FOR THE SAME ISSUE (CLOCKSPRING).... BUT NOT ONE FOR THIS VEHICLE! A PROBLEM LIKE THIS APPEARS TO BE A 'CHEAP' PLASTIC PART FAILING - I HAVE 21K MILES ON THIS CAR (BUT OBVIOUSLY PAST THE 3-YR WARRANTY)... PARTS SHOULD *NOT* FAIL AT 21K MILES!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER SPRING HOOK WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: K39 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE ESP BAS LIGHT TURNED ON AND MY CAR WENT INTO A MODE WHERE IT ONLY ALLOWED ME TO GO 35MPH AND I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A AUTO SHOP AND THE TECH TOLD ME THAT HE PUT IT ON THE COMPUTER AND HE ADVISED ME THAT THE ENGINE CODE LOST COMMUNICATION WITH TCM, THE TRANS CODE READ INTERNAL CONTROL MODULE ROM, ABS READ STREERING ANGLE SENSOR NOT ACTIVATED. HE ADVISED ME THAT I MAY HAVE TO GET A INTEGRATED CONTROL MODULE IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN.

I HAD JUST LEFT MY RESIDENCE TO TRAVEL TO WORK IN MY 2007 DODGE CHARGER, 2.7L V6, I HAD MADE IT 10 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE WHEN MY ENGINE BLEW. I RECEIVED A RECALL IN THE MAIL SAYING THE "THE DRIVER AIRBAG INFLATOR HOUSING MAY RUPTURE". I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THERE ARE AN EST. 400 RECALLS IN FRONT OF ME AND CAN NOT TELL ME WHEN THEY CAN GET TO IT. THE PERSON SAID THAT THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE RECALL ARE COMING IN 4 TO 6 AT A TIME SO SHE COULD NOT TELL WHEN THEY COULD GET BACK TO ME.

THE CAR STARTS UP AND THEN SHUTS DOWN WHEN GEAR IS PUT IN DRIVE. IT HAS SHUT DOWN WHILE IN DRIVE A FEW TIMES IN THE PAST BUT STARTED BACK UP WITHOUT INCIDENT. THIS TIME THE CAR WAS PARKED FOR OVER 4 HOURS BUT WOULD START UP BUT SHUTS DOWN WHEN GEAR IS PUT IN DRIVE. IT HAS ALSO SHUT DOWN AFTER MAKING A RIGHT TURN INTO ANOTHER LANE ( ALMOST CAUSED ME TO BE HIT FROM BEHIND )

PROBLEM #1: ONE OF THE COOLING FAN BLADES SHEERED OFF AND & FLEW INTO THE RADIATOR. I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP AND BROKE OFF WHEN I STARTED TO ACCELERATE. I REPLACED THE BROKEN BLADE (DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO REPLACE BOTH) AND RADIATOR. ABOUT A YEAR OR LESS LATER THE OTHER FAN BLADE SHEERED OFF (THE ONE I DIDN'T REPLACE) AND WENT INTO THE RADIATOR. THIS TIME ALSO DURING ACCELERATING AFTER A COMPLETE STOP. DEJA VU. THIS TIME I HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FAN ASSEMBLY (BECAUSE THE BLADES WERE ON BACKORDER) AND RADIATOR. WHEN I WENT TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SAME BLADES BUT ONLY THE 2006 MODEL. PROBLEM #2: IT IS NOW LOOSING PROPULSION. THE POWER STAYS ON IT JUST STOPS MOVING FORWARD. I CAN PUT IT IN PARK & THEN BACK IN GEAR AND IT MOVES, BUT BARELY. IT ISN'T CONSISTENT BUT IT IS TERRIFYING. I HAVE GOOGLED POSSIBLE ISSUES AND IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY HAVE LINKED IT TO A BAD PCM. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC BUT OF COURSE IT DIDN'T DO IT WHILE HE HAD IT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD, BY DODGE, THAT THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT CAN DO A FULL DIAGNOSTIC, THAT OTHER DEVICES ONLY COVER ABOUT 30% OF THE PROGRAM. THAT ALONE SEEMS UNFAIR IF NOT ILLEGAL. I CANNOT AFFORD $110 JUST TO FIND OUT WHAT'S WRONG. MY TRUNK LIGHT DOESN'T WORK EITHER & EVEN DODGE CAN'T FIND OUT WHY. IT'S NOT THE BULB, IT'S NOT THE FUSE, AND THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION IS GOOD. ACCORDING TO THEM. I HAVE MORE IMAGES AND RECEIPTS BUT CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO ATTACH THEM.
IVE HAD ISSUES THAT I AM REPORTING TO THUS SITE. DEALERSHIP SAID MY VIN DIDN'T MATCH. MY ESP, ABS, AND BAS LIGHTS HAVE BEEN ON FOR 2 YEARS. I WENT TO DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE ON ECU FLASH WITH NEW SOFTWARE BY RECALL, BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAID ONLY POLICE PACKAGE VEHICLES WERE INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL. IVE RESEARCHED COUNTLESS HOURS TO FIND VERY MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. NOW I AM NEEDING TO BRING MY CAR IN FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL. FROM WHAT IT STATES ON THIS WEBSITE, MY RECALL WAS ORDERED BACK IN MAY, 2015. FROM THE INFORMATION THAT I READ, THERE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A 60 DAY TIME SPAN WITHIN WHICH THE DEALERSHIP WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX MY AIRBAG ISSUE, AND THE FACT THAT MY VEHICLE VIN NUMBER FALLS UNDER THIS RECALL ORDER, I BELIEVE THAT I WAS PREVIOUSLY MISLED BY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP ABOUT THE ISSUES PERTAINING TO MY ABS, BAS, AND ESP ISSUES WHICH REGARD A WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, FROM MY UNDERSTANDING, THAT CAUSES ME TO LOSE TRACTION, TROUBLE BRAKING IN MOIST TO WET WEATHER, AND MY CRUISE CONTROL OPTION HAS NOT WORKED SINCE THE ABS, BAS, AND ESP LIGHTS FIRST CAME ON 2 YEARS AGO, WHEN MY WHEELS LOST TRACTION WHILE PULLING INTO A GRAVEL DRIVEWAY AT ABOUT 5 MILES AN HOUR.I DROVE OFF ROAD ACCIDENTALLY TWICE IN THE PASSED YEAR: THE FIRST TIME WAS CAUSED BY A LACK OF ABS AND A BRAKING ASSISTANCE SYSTEM WHICH CAUSED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE TO FRONT BUMPER. THE SECOND TIME WAS DUE TO LOSS OF TIRE TRACTION WHILE PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN WHILE IT WAS RAINING, CAUSING ME TO SPIN OUT INTO A 180 DEGREES TURN TO WHICH MY TIRES CAUGHT TRACTION AND I ACCELED THROUGH A WHITE PICKET FENCE ON THE CORNER OF THE STREET WHILE MY FOOT FIRMLY JAMMED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO TRY AND PREVENT PERSONAL OR EXTERNAL DAMAGE. STILL DAMAGING PASSENGER FENDER AND FRONT GRILLE. I'M CLOSE TO REQUEST OF A DEPRECIATED FINANCIAL REIMBURSEMENT ON VEHICLAL. MY SAFETY, SECURITY, AND TRUST HAS BECOME COMPROMISED.

I'VE DETERMINED THIS IS DUE TO A BROKEN SHIFT INTERLOCK LATCH WHICH IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND A RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR. I CONTACTED DODGE/CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD THAT MY 2007 DODGE CHARGER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL THOUGH THE ISSUE IS EXACTLY THE SAME AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPAIRED AT MY COST AND THEN IF MY VEHICLE IS LATER INCLUDED IN A RECALL, I WOULD BE REIMBURSED. I'VE READ OF MANY DODGE OWNERS EXPERIENCING THIS SAME ISSUE WHERE THEY HAVE THE EXACT ISSUE BUT ARE EXCLUDED WITHIN THE RECALL YEARS. THIS NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED AS THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF THE SCOPE IS NOT CAPTURING THE COMPLETE SPECTRUM. HOW DO WE GET INCLUDED INTO THE RECALL? IF DODGE/CHRYSLER WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS, ESPECIALLY FOR A SIMPLE PLASTIC PART THAT BREAKS, THEN I CERTAINLY DON'T FORESEE MYSELF EVER BUYING ANOTHER DODGE/CHRYSLER. VERY DISAPPOINTING AND FRUSTRATING TO SAY THE LEAST. THANK GOODNESS THERE IS A TEMPORARY WORK AROUND IN ORDER TO STILL BE ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. LEASE HELP!
