ON THE ABOVE DATE DURING INSPECTION OF VEHICLE IT WAS DETERMINED THE VEHICLE HAS ABNORMAL FRAME ROT CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE UNSAFE. VEHICLE IS A POLICE CAR. THE TOWN TO SOUTH FIVE MILES AND TOWN TO EAST 2MILES HAS SAME CARS SINCE DISCOVERED IDENTICAL ROT. ANOTHER TOWN 25 MILES HAS SAME PROBLEM (ALL POLICE CARS) I HAVE SPOKE WITH DODGE AND THEN ARE AWARE AND OFFERING TO PAY HALF TO REPAIR. THESE ARE VERY POPULAR CARS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT AND MODELS RUN 06-10. I FEEL THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE ESPECIALLY FOR POLICE USE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSES. I FIND IS ALL TO INTERESTING THAT FOUR CARS WITH 25 MILES HAS SAME ISSUE MAKE ALL CARS NOT SERVICEABLE . ALL TOWN ARE SMALL POLICE DEPT AND LOSS OF THESE CARS IN HURTING OUR EFFORTS TO PROVIDE FOR THE COMMUNITY. DODGE HAS GIVEN OUR DEPT 30 DAYS TO ACCEPT OFFER. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 DODGE CHARGER AND MY MOTOR WAS LOCK-UP. I DID NOT KNOW FOR SURE TILL I TOOK IT TO DODGE AND I HAD TO PAY THEM FOR THIS SERVICE. ALTHOUGH THEY DID TELL ME HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST FOR ANOTHER MOTOR 8500 LIKE REALLY. FURTHERMORE,THE PROBLEM WAS THE COOLING SYSTEM WHICH GAVE NO SIGN OR WARNING TIL THE ENGINE LOCK-UP. THEREFORE I PURCHASED A USE ENGINE SAME YEAR AND MODEL FOR MY 5.7 HEMI MOTOR WHICH DODGE REFUSE TO GIVE A WARRANTY ON BUT THEY MAKE THEM. SAD. I BOUGHT A NEW RADIATOR CLEAN/FLUSHED MY COOLING SYSTEM. NOW THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE MOTOR I JUST WAS ABLE TO PUT IN SAME PROBLEM COOLING SYSTEM. PLEASE HELP OR LET ME TRADE MY CAR IN. I HONESTLY THINK DODGE SHOULD RECALL THESE CARS BECAUSE THEY BUILT SOME POOR MOTOR AND EXPECT HARD WORKING PEOPLE TO PAY FOR THEIR POOR JUDGEMENT IN BUILDING THESE PRETTY CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS; HOWEVER, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION LOCK SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 176,000.
WHILE MY CAR WAS IDLING THE ELECTRIC COOLING FAN CAME APART AND THE FAN BLADES IMPALED INTO MY RADIATOR. LUCKILY IT HAPPENED RIGHT AFTER I CRANKED THE CAR AND BEFORE I GOT ON THE INTERSTATE. I LEARNED THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND WILL PAY FOR SOME CARS TO BE REPAIRED. THIS IS IN CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTICE L-08 FROM CHRYSLER. I WAS TOLD MY CAR FIT THE CRITERIA OF THIS NOTICE, YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ETC. EXCEPT THE NOTICE SAYS "SEVERE DUTY" FAN MODULE AND ACCORDING TO THE MAN ON THE PHONE MY CAR HAS A "HEAVY DUTY" MODULE. MY CAR DID EXACTLY WHAT THE OTHER CARS THAT WERE COVERED DID. SO BASICALLY CHRYSLER IS SAYING IT IS ACCEPTABLE FOR MY FAN TO COME APART AND SLING PIECES INTO MY RADIATOR AND NO TELLING WHAT ELSE BECAUSE MY HEMI 5.7 HAS A HEAVY DUTY PIECE ON THE FAN BUT IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR THE SEVERE DUTY PIECE ON THE SAME CAR TO DO IT. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A DANGEROUS SITUATION IF IT HAD HAPPENED AT 70 MPH AND FOR THE NOTICE TO HAVE BEEN WRITTEN IN THE FIRST PLACE SOMEONE WAS AWARE OF THAT. THIS NOTICE OR RECALL MAY NEED TO BE EXPANDED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. *TR
UNSAFE VEHICLE DUE TO AIRBAG INFLATOR HOUSING NOT BEING REPLACED THOUGH RECALLED MANY MONTHS AGO BY MANUFACTURER. CHRYSLER CORPORATION IS GIVING US NO UPDATES AS TO WHEN THE PROPER PARTS WILL BE READY FOR IMMEDIATE SERVICE....THIS IS HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE! THE DAILY ANXIETY THEY ARE PUTTING CONSUMERS THROUGH IS RIDICULOUS. EARLY MORNING COMMUTE TO WORK, TRAVELED SOUTHBOUND ON CA HIGHWAY 15, PROXIMATE TO MIRAMAR WAY EXIT. VEHICLE BEGAN TO SMOKE, ENGINE HOOD SPRANG OPEN, OTHER DRIVERS INDICATING THAT SMOKE AND FLAMES COMING FROM FRONT ENGINE - AS HOOD BLOCKING VIEW. I CONTINUED TO SIDE OF THE ROAD, JUMPED OUT AND WATCHED FRONT END OF ENGINE BECOME ENGULFED IN FLAMES! WATCHED ENTIRE FRONT END OF CAR BURN, DURING THIS TIME HIGHWAY PATROL / FIRE PATROL CALLED. MY 07 DODGE CHARGER R/T STALLS RANDOMLY CAUSING LOST OF POWER AND STEERING WHEEL LOCK. VERY DANGEROUS ON THE HIGHWAY, ME AND MY FAMILY COULD OF BEEN KILLED. I WOULD LIKE THIS TO BE A RECALL AS ALL DODGE DEALERSHIPS ARE SAYING ITS NOT A RECALL. I FOUND ON MANY FORUMS WITH PEOPLE DEALING WITH THE STALL ISSUE ON THE VEHICLE THE APPROPRIATE ACTION IS TO REFLASH THE POWER CONTROL MODULE, BUT THE DEALERSHIP REFUSE AND TELLS ME TO CALL CHRYSLER WHERE THEY AS WELL REFUSE. THIS VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH DOWN THE ROAD SUDDENLY HAD THE BATTERY LIGHT COME ON THEN THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT THEN ALL THE WARNING GAUGES CAME ON AND STARTED BLINKING AS THIS WAS HAPPENING THE VEHICLES ENGINE WAS ACCELERATING AND DECELERATING, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO PAST FIRST GEAR ROAD THE SHOULDER UNTIL I COULD GET SAFELY OFF THE ROAD. SHUT VEHICLE OFF IT SEEMED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. WENT TO HAVE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR CHECKED BOTH WERE FINE. SINCE THEN EVERY FEW DAYS THE BATTERY LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THEN GO OFF AFTER VEHICLE IS RESTARTED. TODAY 2/11/2015 THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO BUCK AROUND 40 MPH THEN STOP IF I ACCELERATED OR DECELERATED. AND AT ONE POINT WHEN IDLING AT A RED LIGHT IT STALLED AND THEN STARTED BACK UP. I HAVE HEARD A LOT OF SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THIS PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. WE AS THE CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT TO BE MADE TO SHELL OUT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR THINGS THAT THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD STAND BEHIND. WE PAY ENOUGH FOR THE CAR TO BEGIN WITH WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY MORE FOR SOMETHING THAT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT ISOLATED TO ONE OR TWO INCIDENTS. SOME OF THE PARTS THAT ARE RUMORED TO BE THE PROBLEM ARE FCM, TCM, AND ECM. ALL ARE SUPPOSEDLY FIXED WITH A COMPUTER UPDATE. WELL THEN SO BE IT DON'T CHARGE US THE CONSUMER. *TR

I OWN A 2007 DODGE CHARGER V6 ENGINE ON NOV THE 14TH I WAS DRIVING 40 MILES PER HOUR OIL LIGHT SUDDENLY CAME ON STARTED FLASHING REALLY FAST AND MAKING A DINGING NOISE, ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE WAS A LOUD FAST TICKING UNDER HOOD THEN THE CAR SHUTS OFF LUCKILY I WAS CLOSE TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP I WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO THE PARKING LOT I CUT THE CAR OFF AND TRIED TO CRANK IT BACK UP IT WOULD NOT START BUT ALL MY LIGHTS CAME ON AS IF IT WAS GOING TO CRANK THE TECHNICIAN CAME AND CHECKED MY OIL IT WAS FULL AND CLEAR BECAUSE I MAKE SURE I KEEP MY ROUTINE MAINTENANCE DONE ON MY VEHICLES, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY NEEDED TO KEEP MY CAR TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT I SAID OK THAT'S FINE, ON NOV 17TH 2014 I CALLED TO SEE IF THEY HAD FOUND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG THEY TOLD ME THAT MY MOTOR HAD LOCKED UP HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE WHEN I KEEP EVERYTHING CHECKED AND UP TO DATE AND FLUID LEVELS CHECKED I ALSO GET THE 16 POINT MULTI CHECK DONE EVERY TIME I GO IN THERE IT GETS PUT ON THE MACHINE TO CHECK TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY ISSUES WITH MY CAR, IN OTHER WORDS I NEED A NEW MOTOR I ALWAYS DO PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE ON MY CHARGER THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED AT ALL. I ALSO NEEDED TO REPLACE MY GEAR SHIFT IT GOT STUCK IN PARK AND I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED AND I HAD TO PAY TO GET THE GEAR SHIFT REPLACED, AS WELL AS GETTING THE RELAY SWITCH REPLACED AS WELL. NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM STILL WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION. *TR
THIS INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW. ONE, I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF, ENGINE, ALL POWER ETC. SECOND TIME WAS GOING 25 MILES PER HOUR AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED..CAR JUST SHUT OFF...NO POWER STEERING, NO BRAKES...AND WAS IN A NEIGHBORHOOD WITH LOTS S OF KIDS OUT AND ABOUT. DEALER SAY NO COMPUTER CODES NO ISSUES. THIS IS NOT A SAFE VEHICLE. *TR
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, MY CAR WOULD COMPLETELY TURN OFF WHEN TURNING RIGHT. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR. EACH TIME, I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE FOUND NOTHING. ON 10/3/2014 APPROXIMATELY 6:10 P.M., I TURNED RIGHT AND THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DODGE DEALERSHIP IN FAYETTEVILLE, NC UNDERGOING SOME TESTS. I FEEL THE CAR IS UNSAFE AND AM ASKING THEM TO CHECK THE IGNITION FOR DEFECTS. I HAVE READ THAT THERE WERE OTHER DODGE VEHICLES THAT LOST POWER AND HAVE RESEARCHED THEM TO TAKE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO INSPECT. IF I WERE TO TRADE THIS VEHICLE IN FOR ANOTHER CAR, I AM AFRAID THE NEXT PURCHASER'S LIFE COULD BE IN DANGER. ONCE IT STOPS, IT TAKES STRONG ARMS TO CONTROL IT WHILE PULLING OVER. I NEED ASSISTANCE IN GETTING TO THE PROBLEM. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR LEVER WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF THE PARK POSITION UNTIL THE GEAR LEVER HOUSING WAS DISMANTLED TO ADJUST THE NECESSARY CABLE FOR THE LEVER TO OPERATE PROPERLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V583000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. WHILE TRAVELING AT 40+ MPH I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BY PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ALL THE WAY, THE DODGE CHARGER DID NOT REACT AND KEPT ACCELERATING AT THE NORMAL RATE BEFORE I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. SINCE IT WAS NOT REACTING TO MY INPUT, I TOOK MY FOOT COMPLETELY OFF THE ACCELERATOR BUT THE VEHICLE KEPT ACCELERATING AT A CONSTANT RATE. THEN AFTER TWO SECONDS, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT FULL THROTTLE, AND CONTINUED TO SPEED UP AT FULL THROTTLE. BRAKES WERE PRESSED BUT SEEMED TO HAVE ZERO EFFECT ON THE VEHICLE'S UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION. FINALLY I DECIDED TO PULL OVER TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND IT CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE. I THEN SHIFTED INTO PARK AND PRESSED THE EMERGENCY BRAKES WHILE THE ENGINE WAS STILL ACCELERATING. THEY THEN REPLACED THE RELAY FUSE WORTH FIFTEEN DOLLARS THE 2ND TIME IT WAS SERVICED, THE VEHICLE STALLED TWO DAYS AFTER HAVING IT BACK AND WE WERE ON OUR WAY TO THE HOSPITAL IN THE VEHICLE! I NEED THIS DOCUMENTED BECAUSE THIS TIME DODGE CORPORATE RESPONDED IN LESS THAN TWELVE HOURS TO GALEANA TO HAVE THE CAR SERVICED AND A MAIN WIRE REPLACED AND IT HASN'T STALLED SINCE, BUT NOW I WANT REIMBURSE!!! *TR

I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THESE WERE THE REPAIRS NEEDED: WATER OUTLET HOUSING/TRANSMISSION HYDRAULIC SERVICE W/ PROGRAMMING/AIR FILTER/ FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING WE PICKED THE VEHICLE UP JULY 10TH 2014 FROM DEALERSHIP, DROVE IT DIRECTLY HOME.MY GIRLFRIEND DROVE THE VEHICLE 30 MILES TO WORK JULY 12TH 2014,AFTER AN 8 HOUR SHIFT SHE STARTED THE DODGE CHARGER LETTING IT RUN IDLE FOR 5 MINUTES BEFORE EXITING THE PARKING LOT.THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO A STOP BEFORE ENTERING THE INTERSTATE. WHEN SHE TRIED TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE OR MAKE A REVVING SOUND, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED TIGHT BUT HOT AIR WAS CONTINUING TO BLOW FROM VENTS.NO INDICATOR LIGHTS WERE PRESENT BEFORE DURING OR AFTER THE EVENT. ON JUNE 2, 2014 I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT WAITING TO TURN WHEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG FOLLOWED BY WHAT FELT LIKE SOMETHING FALLING OUT OF MY MOTOR. I DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE MY CAR ANY FURTHER IN ORDER TO PREVENT ANY UNNECESSARY DAMAGES. I CALLED MY HUSBAND WHO THEN CAME TO GET ME AND CHECK THE PROBLEM. HE NOTICED THAT THE FANS ON THE COOLING SYSTEM WERE NOT WORKING. ONE COMPLETELY LOCKED WHICH CAUSED SOME OF THE FANS TO BREAK AND THE OTHER JUST STOPPED WORKING. I LOOKED ON LINE TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY SIMILAR OCCURRENCES OF THIS HAPPENING. I CAME UPON CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE NOTIFICATION L08, WHICH IMPLIES THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED ON OVER 55,000 VEHICLES. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND WAS HAD THEM LOOK INTO IT. ACCORDING TO THE NOTIFICATION IT STATES THAT ONLY THE SEVERE COOLING SYSTEMS ON 2006-2008 DODGE CHARGERS ARE HAVING THIS OCCUR. MY VEHICLE IS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER 3.5 L V6 WHICH IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE CUSTOMER SERVICE NOTIFICATION SINCE IT ONLY CARRIES THE HEAVY DUTY COOLING SYSTEM. SO MY DEALERSHIP WILL NOT COVER THE COST TO FIX THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRING ON LIKE MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLES. HOWEVER, DURING OPERATION MY COOLING LOCKED AND STOPPED WORKING.
