TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER AWD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THERE WAS A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME FAILURE HOWEVER, HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED HIM THAT THE VEHICLE WAS 65 DAYS OUTSIDE OF THE IN-SERVICE DATE FOR THE RECALL TO APPLY TO HIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED AFTER I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY FOR ABOUT 30 MILES I PARKED THE CAR WITH THE CAR ON SO I CAN HAVE THE AIR ON. I HAD TO MOVE MY CAR AND THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. THE SHIFTER WOULD MOVE BUT IT DIDN'T SEEM TO CHANGE INTO GEAR. I HAD IT TOWED TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP THINKING IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. THE SHOP LOOKED IT OVER AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION THEY SAID IT WAS THE BRAKES THAT WERE LOCKED UP SO THEY UNPLUGGED THE ABS AND THAT SEEMED TO FIX THE PROBLEM.THE SECOND INCIDENT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND CAME TO A STOP AT AN INTERSECTION WHEN I PULLED AWAY FROM THE LIGHT THE CAR HADN'T SWITCHED GEARS AND WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. WHEN I PARKED THE CAR THERE WAS A HEAVY SMELL OF THE BRAKES BURNING. *TR
VEHICLE SHIFT INTERLOCK LATCH IS BROKEN. THE LATCH ALLOWS THE VEHICLE TO SHIFT FROM GEAR TO GEAR OR WILL PREVENT THE SHIFTING. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, IT WAS LEARNED THE PIECE WAS A RECALL PIECE BUT ACCORDING TO DODGE ONLY ON CERTAIN VEHICLES AND OUR VEHICLE DOES NOT MEET THE STANDARDS REQUIRED FOR RECALL. ALTHOUGH DODGE JUST SIMPLY SHIPS THE SAME ITEM TO VARIOUS LOCATION ACROSS THE WORLD, OUR VEHICLE WAS BUILT IN THE AREA THAT DOES NOT AFFORD RECALL STATUS; EVENTHOUGH IT WAS BUILT WITH THE EXACT SAME PART. I WAS INFORMED TO PUT IN A COMPLAINT BY THE DODGE PHONE REPRESENTATIVE. I WAS ALSO TOLD OUR VEHICLE HAS NO RECALL ALTHOUGH I FOUND 3 ON THIS SITE ALONE. *TR
IT IS A KNOW PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER'S AND DODGE'S. PLASTIC SHIFT LEVER RELEASE BREAKS WHICH WILL NOT ALLOW THE CAR TO COME OUT OF PARK. SOME CARS WERE RECALLED OTHERS WITH THE EXACT SAME PART WERE NOT. MINE WAS ONE OF THE CARS NOT RECALLED. SEARCH THE WEB FOR "DODGE CAR STUCK IN PARK". TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REVERSING, THE GEAR BECAME LOCKED IN DRIVE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RELEASE THE DEFECTIVE SPRING OUT OF DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
STARTED MY 2007 DODGE CHARGER, WENT TO PUT CAR INTO REVERSE AND WAS UNABLE TO. CAR REMAINS IN PARK AND UNABLE TO MOVE IT. APPARENTLY THERE IS A RECALL ON 2006-2007 DODGE CHARGER, BUT ONLY SELECTED VIN'S, MINE WAS BUILT AUGUST 24, 2006 SO EVEN THOUGH I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS THE CARS BUILT LATER MY CAR IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I AM UPSET, AND AFTER RESEARCH APPARENTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. ALL 2006-2007 DODGE CHARGERS SHOULD BE COVERED!!!! I AM UPSET!!! CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON FAILED INSPECTION CODE P1004 MANY 3.5L 6CYL ENGINES ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEM NO TSB NO RECALL BIG REPAIR COST. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY GOING ABOUT 65 MPH WITH CRUSE CONTROL WHEN I FELT A ODD VIBRATION, I NOTICED THE CAR WAS OFF. WHILE I WAS COASTING ON TO THE SHOULDER, I NOTICED THAT THE STEERING AND BRAKING WERE HEAVY. I PULLED TO THE SHOULDER, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE CAR. THIS CAR IS A MOVING DEATH TRAP AND IF NOT FOR THE LIGHT TRAFFIC OR THE SIDE SHOULDER THERE COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN A CRASH AND OR FATALITY. *TT
ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. IT STARTED BACK UP AND 2 MILES SHUT OFF FOR THE 2ND TIME. NO WARNING, NO ROUGH RUNNING. DROVE APPROX. 35 MILES WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. THE COMPUTER SHOWED CODE P0443 2 TIMES AND C121C ONCE. *TR
WE OWN A 2007 DODGE CHARGER SXT AND WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OUR BRIGHTS WILL OCCASIONALLY TURN THEMSELVES ON. WHEN WE USE OUR TURN SIGNAL AND HAVE THE WIPERS ON IT WILL INCREASE THE SPEED OF OUR WIPERS, THEN SLOW THEM BACK DOWN AFTER A FEW SWIPES. *TR

APPARENTLY THERE IS A RECALL ON 2006-2007 DODGE CHARGER, BUT ONLY SELECTED VIN'S ON THE CARES BUILT BETWEEN JUNE-SEPTEMBER 2007, MINE WAS BUILT MAY 2007 SO EVEN THOUGH I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS THE CARS BUILT 1 MONTH LATER MY CAR IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I AM UPSET, AND AFTER RESEARCH APPARENTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. ALL 2006-2007 DODGE CHARGERS SHOULD BE COVERED!!!! I AM UPSET!!! THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER WAS RECALLED ON 2005 - 2007 DODGE AND CHRYSLER VEHICLES, HOWEVER AFTER CONTACTING DODGE DIRECTLY I WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT BUILT DURING THE YEARS OF THE RECALL. ONCE THE LEVER IS BROKEN, YOU'RE UNABLE TO PUT YOUR CAR INTO GEAR. THE SAME ISSUE THAT WAS RECALLED FOR THE OTHER YEARS OF THESE VEHICLES HAS HAPPENED TO MY CAR. AND FROM THE RESEARCH I'VE DONE ONLINE THERE ARE HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF OTHER COMPLAINS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I CONTACTED 3 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND IT'S GOING TO COST APPROXIMATELY $390 TO HAVE THE PLASTIC LEVER REPLACED WITH THE METAL LEVER THAT'S BEING USED NOW. I FEEL AS THOUGH THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH DODGE AND CHRYSLER AND THEREFORE SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURE. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS AS THE CAR WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR IF THE LEVER BREAKS, AND CAN CAUSE A PERSON TO BE STRANDED. IF I NEEDED TO GET AWAY FROM SOMEONE IN A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LEAVE IN MY CAR BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT. I BELIEVE DODGE AND CHRYSLER SHOULD REVISIT THIS RECALL AND EXTEND TO ALL CARS IT AFFECT. MY CAR IS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER, HOWEVER IT WAS BUILT IN 2006 THEREFORE IT DOES NOT "QUALIFY" FOR THE RECALL. *TR
THE CAR STALLED 3 TIMES WITH IN A 5 MIN PERIOD. THEY WERE ALL AT STOP LIGHTS. *TR
WE HAVE EXPERIENCED A SHUDDER WHILE STOPPED FOR LIGHTS ON AND OFF FOR YEARS, SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW IN 07. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG (NO CODES) AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE COMPLAINT. THEN IN 2013 IT BEGAN STALLING AT LIGHTS AFTER THE SHUDDER AND SOMETIMES WITHOUT THE SHUDDER. AGAIN LEAVING NO CODES. I'M A ASE CERTIFIED MASTER TECH OF FORTY YEARS. A TORQUE CONVERTER LOCKUP COULD CAUSE IT TO SHUDDER AND STALL, BUT SHOULD LEAVE A CODE. BUT A DEFECTIVE CRANK POSITION OR CAM POSITION SENSOR COULD SHUT IGNTION OFF WITHOUT LEAVING A CODE. THEREFORE, FOR A TOTAL OF $32.50 I CHANGED BOTH SENSORS. IT FIXED BOTH ISSUES FOR 7 OR 8 MONTHS. SUDDENLY, TODAY 12/30/14 IT'S DOING BOTH AGAIN! THERE'S TO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS TO IGNORE THE SAFETY ISSUES OF STALLING IN TRAFFIC WHILE STANDING STILL DRIVING 60 MPH.HELP FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED!!!!!! THANKS. *JS

WHEN USE TURN SIGNALS, MAKING RIGHT TURNS, THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL SOMETIMES ACTIVATE, AND SEEMS TO GET HUNG UP ELECTRONICALLY, WHEN THEY TRY TO CANCEL OUT. ALSO, HAD ISSUE WITH HEAD LIGHTS SUDDENLY CUTTING OFF AT NIGHT, WHILE DRIVING. THE LIGHTS WHERE IN AUTOMATIC MODE, VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,100.
I WAS TBONED FROM ANOTHER DRIVER RUNNING A STOP SIGN SPEEDING ON HIS WAY TO WORK. NO AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND FROM END AND SIDE DAMAGE WAS REALLY BAD. I SUSTAINED KNEE INJURY AND HIT HEAD AND PASSENGER HAD WHIPLASH AND BACK INJURIES. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING AT 40+ MPH I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BY PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ALL THE WAY, THE DODGE CHARGER RT(5.7L V8) DID NOT REACT AND KEPT ACCELERATING AT THE NORMAL RATE BEFORE I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. SINCE IT WAS NOT REACTING TO MY INPUT, I TOOK MY FOOT COMPLETELY OFF THE ACCELERATOR BUT THE VEHICLE KEPT ACCELERATING AT A CONSTANT RATE. THEN AFTER TWO SECONDS, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT FULL THROTTLE, IN AUTOMATIC, DOWNSHIFTED, AND CONTINUED TO SPEED UP AT FULL THROTTLE. BRAKES WERE PRESSED BUT SEEMED TO HAVE ZERO EFFECT ON THE VEHICLE'S UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION. FINALLY I DECIDED TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND THE ENGINE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. I THEN SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AGAIN FROM NEUTRAL, AND OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE RESUMED TO NORMAL. FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE, LUCKILY, NO CAR WAS IN FRONT OF ME AND I HAD TIME TO CONTROL THE CAR BEFORE I CAME TO THE UPCOMING RED LIGHT/INTERSECTION. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY A PRIVATE MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER WITH A POLICE PACKAGE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL GEAR. WHEN THE SPEED INCREASED TO 40 MPH THE VEHICLE SHIFT INTO GEAR. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO STATED THE CODE IDENTIFIED THE FAILURE AS A DEFECTIVE ACCELERATOR CODE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER MECHANIC WHO STATED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 08V583000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
ON 09/23/2013 AT ABOUT 7AM I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ABOUT 20 MILES UPON ARRIVAL THE VEHICLE STARTED SMOKING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I PARKED AND INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND SOME WATER LEAKING FROM THE RADIATOR, I LET THE ENGINE COOL FOR ABOUT 4 HOURS AND AT LUNCH WENT OUT AND ADDED WATER TO THE VEHICLE AS I ADDED THE WATER IT POURED DIRECTLY OUT. I FURTHER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT ALL SEVEN RADIATOR FAN BLADES HAD SEPARATED FROM THE MAIN HOUSING THAT WAS INTACT AND NOT LOOSE OR DISTORTED AND IMPELLED THEMSELVES THROUGH THE RADIATOR. I RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND FOUND THAT DODGE HAD A SERVICE BULLETIN CSN-L08 ISSUED IN 2011 FOR THE DODGE MAGNUM AND OTHER VEHICLES. WHEN I CONTACTED THEM THEY ADVISED I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I DO NOT FEEL THIS IS A WARRANTY ISSUE IF IT HAS HAPPENED IN 2011 AND STILL HAPPENING IN 2013 AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER IF SOMEONE IS WORKING ON ONE OF THESE VEHICLES AND THE FAN BLADES COME APART. THIS COULD CAUSE BODILY INJURY WITH THE FORCE IT IMPELLED THEM THROUGH THE RADIATOR. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL OF THIS FAN PART #24040406 MANUFACTURE DATE 1/10/06 AND A REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM FOR THOSE INDIVIDUAL'S WHO HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THESE ITEMS. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V583000 (POWER TRAIN). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE KEY INTERLOCK AND BRAKE ENGAGEMENT SYSTEM HAD TO BE DISABLED IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE CAR. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM THAT CHRYSLER IS WELL AWARE OF. CONSUMERS ARE DISABLING THE SAFETY FEATURES SO THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE TO SPEND $150 TO $600 IN REPAIRS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STOP, THE GAUGE INDICATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS OVERHEATING FOLLOWED BY A LOUD NOISE. THERE WAS SMOKE BEING EMITTED FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD AND ANTIFREEZE WAS LEAKING ONTO THE GROUND. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE FAN BLADES WERE MISSING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE ENGINE FAN BLADE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FRACTURED AND PUNCTURED THE RADIATOR. AS A RESULT, THE RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,954.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE WAS TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE BY THE SEAT BELT. THE DRIVER ATTEMPTED TO DISCONNECT THE SEATBELT BUT IT WAS JAMMED. THE DRIVER PULLED AND TWIST THE BELT UNTIL IT RELEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THE CAR IS STUCK IN PARK AND AFTER CALLING DODGE THEY TELL ME THAT MY CAR DOESN'T FALL UNDER THE RECALL DUE TO MY VIN #. THE THING IS THEY KNOW THIS PROBLEM IS HAPPENING TO A LOT OF THEIR VEHICLES WHY NOT HAVE ALL THE CARS THAT EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM BE IN THE RECALL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND. *TR
I HAVE NOT HAD MY CAR FOR A YEAR. MY GEARS ARE LOCKED ON MY CAR. WHICH IS A DEFEAT AND A SAFETY ISSUE. I CURRENTLY STILL MAKE PAYMENTS ON MY VEHICLE ITS NOT FAIR TO ME FOR THIS TO HAPPEN AND ITS NOT MY FAULT. I HAVE GOOGLED THIS ISSUE/ I HAVE SEEN THE COMPLAINTS ON YOUR WEBSITE ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE I AM HAVING.. SO MANY PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS IN DEED A DEFEAT IN THE CAR. JUST FOR THIS REASON ALONE I AM CONSIDERING LETTING CHYSLER COME PICK THE CAR UP AND KEEP IT. I PAY TO MUCH MONEY OUT MONTHLY TO GOING THROUGH DEFEATS ON A CAR WHEN I CALL ABOUT IT THEN AM TOLD ITS NO RECALL ON IT. ITS NOT FAIR. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. TECH DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS NEEDING TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER INTERLOCK LEVER. LABOR, PARTS, TAXES, AND MISC. CHARGES TOTALED $498.18 WERE PAID BY CUSTOMER. DEALER STATED THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR PART FROM CHRYSLER. ON CHARGER FORUMS FOUND POSTS THAT CHRYSLER HAD ISSUED A K39 NOTIFICATION LETTER WHICH COULD BE FILLED OUT AND SENT TO CHRYSLER GROUP RECALL CENTER. CUSTOMER SUBMITTED FORM. CHRYSLER RESPONDED THAT VEHICLE WAS BUILT ONE MONTH BEFORE RECALL RANGE SO IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED. CUSTOMER DOES NOT AGREE WITH CHRYSLER'S RECALL RANGE IN THAT IT IS TOO LIMITED AND NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED. SAME PART IS FAILING, WHETHER VEHICLE WAS BUILT IN RECALL RANGE OR A MONTH EARLIER. IT IS STILL A DANGEROUS PROBLEM IN THAT THE VEHICLE IS INOPERABLE AND CAN LEAVE THE DRIVER AND FAMILY STRANDED IN UNFAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS AND LATE AT NIGHT. I WAS AT AN OPEN MALL AND I PARKED MY CHARGER, I NOTICED I WAS TO CLOSE TO THE CAR NEXT TO ME SO I DECIDED TO MOVE IT TO ANOTHER PARKING SPOT. I HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK AND THAT WAS GOING TO TAKE A COUPLE. SO I WAS STUCK ALONE WAITING. AFTER READING IN MANY WEBSITES. IT LOOKS LIKE I HAVE NOT BEEN THE ONLY ONE WITH THE PROBLEM. SEEMS LIKE THOUSANDS OF OTHER CHRYSLERS OWNERS HAD ISSUES. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK FINALLY ARRIVED, HE HAD ALREADY HELPED 4 OTHER PEOPLE OWNING A DODGE CHARGER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. AND ONCE I WAS AT DODGE PICKING UP MY VEHICLE. THEY TOO TOLD ME THAT MANY PEOPLE HAD GONE IN TO GET THE SAME PROBLEM FIXED IN JUST A FEW WEEKS. I BELIEVE WITH SO MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, THERE SHOULD BE SOME SORT OF RECALL. LUCKILY NO ONE HAS GOTTEN HURT THAT I KNOW OF BECAUSE OF THIS. I'VE RECENTLY HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY SHIFTER NOT WANTING TO MOVE OUT OF PARK. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL LISTED FOR MY VIN NUMBER. I DID RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2007 CHARGERS LIKE MINE, AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THEIR VIN DOESN'T FALL UNDER THE LIMITED RECALL. I WAS TOLD BY DODGE'S CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT IT WAS A VIN-SPECIFIC RECALL, AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME. I FILED A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH DODGE'S CUSTOMER SERVICE TODAY.. I'M STUCK WITH A VEHICLE THAT NOW REQUIRES ME TO PRESS A HOT PINK LEVER IN THE CONSOLE WHEN THE GEAR SHIFT STICKS, AND NO ONE AT DODGE SEEMS TO BE BOTHERED THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS WHO DIDN'T FALL UNDER THE LIMITED RECALL. THERE HAS BEEN AT LEAST 261 COMPLAINTS ON THE 2007 CHARGER FILED WITH NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION. OUT OF THOSE 261 COMPLAINTS, 143 WERE ABOUT POWER TRAIN ISSUES. WAS DRIVING DOWN ROAD AND CAR STARTED TO SLOW DOWN AND BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO OPERATE. THIS IS REGARDING A 2007 DODGE CHARGER SRT-8. THE VEHICLE WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY WHEN I WAS SUDDENLY UNABLE TO ACCELERATE IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (ETC) WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN "SPUTTERING" AS I TRIED TO ACCELERATE. I EXITED AT THE NEXT AVAILABLE OFF-RAMP AND CAME TO A STOP AT WHICH POINT THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND I WAS UNABLE TO START IT AGAIN. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST CHRYSLER/DODGE DEALERSHIP/SERVICE CENTER AND AFTER ABOUT A WEEK I WAS INFORMED THAT THE #2 CYLINDER HAD 0 PSI COMPRESSION. THEY SAID THEY HAD TO OPEN THE ENGINE TO GET FURTHER INFORMATION AS TO WHY IT HAD NO COMPRESSION. AFTER OPENING THE ENGINE, THEY FOUND THAT THE VALVE SEAT FOR THE #2 CYLINDER WAS WARN AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. GIVEN THAT THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 70K MILES ON IT, I BELIEVE THIS FAILURE IS PREMATURE. THERE WERE ABSOLUTELY NO SIGNS OF DEGRADATION IN VEHICLE PERFORMANCE LEADING UP TO THIS INCIDENT. I USE THIS VEHICLE TO COMMUTE TO WORK ABOUT 35 MILES EACH WAY, EVERYDAY. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF THE VEHICLE AND SERVICE IT REGULARLY IF NOT EARLIER THAN THE RECOMMENDED MILEAGE/TIME. *TR
