TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION INTERLOCK FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V583000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:LEVER AND LINKAGE:COLUMN SHIFT). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000.
MY VEHICLES ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON WHILE I WAS TAKING IT TO GET INSPECTED. AAA RAN A TEST TO FIND OUT AS TO WHY THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE DIAGNOSTICS SHOULD A PROBLEM WITH THE PLENUM, AIR INTAKE VALVE AND THE CAR NEEDED A REFLASH OR UPDATE IN THE CARS COMPUTER. I TOOK THE VEHICLE DOWN TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP AND FOUND OUT THAT THE PLENUM IS A COMMON FAIL PART AND IS A DEALER ONLY PART AND COST 969.00 TO REPLACE. AFTER HAVING THE REFLASH DONE ON MY VEHICLE AND FINDING OUT ABOUT THE PLENUM I RETURNED TO AAA TO FIND OUT IF THEY COULD FIX THE PROBLEM CHEAPER. THEY THEN CHECKED THE RECALL LIST TO SEE IF THEIR WERE ANY RECALLS. THE RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE WERE FOR THE CARS COMPUTER SYSTEM , THE INTERLOCK MECHANISM FOR THE CLUTCH, AND THE RADIATOR FAN. AFTER FINDING OUT ABOUT THE REFLASH BEING ON RECALL I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET MY MONEY BACK AND WAS TOLD RECALLS ARE VIN SPECIFIC, EVEN THOUGH DISTRIBUTED BY REGULAR MECHANICS. AFTER FIXING THE ENGINE LIGHT PROBLEM AND GETTING MY CAR INSPECTED, 3 DAYS LATER THE INTERLOCK MECHANISM BROKE AND WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO MOVE THE CLUTCH TO PUT CAR IN GEAR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND PAID FOR A DIAGNOSTICS AND WAS TOLD THE PROBLEMS I AM HAVING ARE ALL LISTED IN THE RECALLS BUT THEY CAN NOT FIX DUE TO RECALLS BEING VIN SPECIFIC. I PAID 478.00 FOR INTERLOCK TO BE FIXED. I HAVE TWO MORE ITEMS ON MY VEHICLE LISTED FOR RECALL AND I NOW KEEP GETTING A LIGHTNING BOLT WARNING SIGN ON MY DASH WHEN MY VEHICLE IS IDLE. I HAVE PAID FOR 2 OUT OF 4 RECALLS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF BY THE DEALERSHIP BUT WERE NT DUE TO THEM BEING VIN SPECIFIC EVEN THOUGH EVERYTHING MATCHES UP WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE AND WHAT IS BEING RECALLED. *TR
INTERLOCK BRAKE LEVER BROKE. THIS IS THE PIECE THAT LOCKS YOUR CAR IN PARK AND YOU HAVE TO PRESS BRAKE PEDAL TO RELEASE LOCK BEFORE SHIFTING. CAR WONT COME OUT OF PARK POSITION. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF THIS ONLINE FOR DODGE AND THEY ARE ONLY WILLING TO FIX CERTAIN VIN NUMBERS. I WOULD LIKE MINE TO BE CONSIDERED BEING AS IT ONLY HAD 30K MILES WHEN THIS HAPPENED. *TR
I HAD MY 82 YEAR OLD MOTHER IN THE CAR ON PASSENGER SIDE AND THE SEAT BELT JUST LOCKED TIGHT ON HER AND BEFORE I COULD GET SOMEWHERE TO PULL OVER IT HAC CUT A GASH UNDER HER LEFT ARM. HER SKIN IS VERY THIN AND SHE IS DIABETIC..THEN ON A SEPERATE INCIDENT IT DID THE SAME THING TO ME WHEN MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING. IT SCARED ME TO DEATH. *TT

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 67,775.
MY 2007 DODGE CHARGER HAD COOLANT LEAKS THAT WERE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. I HAD TO GET A WATER PUMP REPLACED, UNDER WARRANTY. NOW I AM BEING TOLD I HAVE ENGINE SLUDGE FROM THE ENGINE NOT COOLING PROPERLY. WHY IN THE WORLD IS THIS NOT FIXED UNDER WARRANTY? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING ABNORMALLY, BEFORE STALLING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MAIN COMPUTER TO THE THROTTLE BUT THE REPAIR DID NOT REMEDY THE STALLING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE DEALER STATED THE STALLING WAS CAUSED BY A WIRING ISSUE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO LOCAL MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR SENSOR WAS FAULTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

MY GEAR SHIFT IS STUCK IN PARK AND I HAVE TO KEEP IT IN NEUTRAL AND PUT THE PARK BRAKE UP TO PARK IT BEC IT WONT COME OUT OF PARK WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. PREMATURE BUSING AND CONTROL ARMS FAILURE, LEADING TO LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND PREMATURE TIRE WEAR,HARSH NOISE AND POOR ABSORPTION OF ROAD HAZARDS ( UNEVEN ROADS, OR POTS HOLES LEAD TO ABRUPT STEERING MOVEMENT). *TR
MY ENGINE COOLANT HAS BEEN LEAKING AND CAUSED MY CAR TO OVER HEAT SINCE IT WASNT NOTICED. NO STEAM CAME OUT OF THE CAR TO ALERT ME THAT IT WAS RUNNING HOT WHILE DRIVING. MY CAR JUST AUTOMATICALLY SHUT DOWN AND WOULD NOT CRANK BACK UP. ONCE LOOKING UNDER THE HOOD I SAW THERE WAS NO COOLANT AND HOW IT HAD BEEN LEAKING AROUND THE VALVE. I REPLACED THE COOLANT THEN WENT INTO HAVE MY CAR SERVICED EVERY 3 MTHS AS USUAL. THE MECHANIC TELLS ME THAT HES NOTICED SEVERAL CHARGERS WITH THE SAME COOLANT LEAK IN THE VALVES. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A DEFECT TO ME. *TT

I HAVE A 2007 DODGE CHARGER THAT I HAVE PURCHASED "USED" JUST 8 MONTHS AGO. I HAVE NOT EVEN DRIVEN 6000 MILES IN THIS CAR AND IT HAS A BAD "LIFTER" TICKING IN THE ENGINE. IT WILL COST IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF $1200.00 TO REPAIR. ON THE DODGE FORUMS I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THE VERY SAME ISSUE. THEY HAVE ALL CALLED DODGE AS I HAVE AS WELL AND THE ANSWER WAS THE VERY SAME. CAN'T HELP YOU SORRY FOR YOUR LUCK! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THESE CHARGERS AS IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM ACROSS THE BOARD WITH THIS MODEL CAR. I AM FURIOUS THAT THEY WILL NOT HELP AND STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER DODGE VEHICLE OR RECOMMEND ONE EVER. MY CAR FAILED TO GO INTO GEAR, WHICH THIS MATTER IN ON RECALL BUT I WAS TOLD BY DODGE THAT MY VIN WAS NOT IN SYSTEM UNDER THE RECALL, PUTTING IN THE VIN COULD OF BEEN A ERROR TO. HUMAN ERROR DO HAPPEN BUT THE MANUFACTURE SHOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR CARS, I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS IN FULL, I THEN HAVE TO SEND IN MY ORIGINAL RECEIPT BEFORE CHRYSLER WILL REIMBURSE ME $150 TOWARDS THE REPAIRS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,700.
INABILITY TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER OUT OF THE "PARK" POSITION ISSUE IN MY VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE WAS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION K 39 BY CHRYSLER , BUT WHEN I SENT MY VEHICLE TO DEALER LENDERS MCLARK AT DODGE IN HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA - AND THE SERVICE MANAGER (BJ) TOLD ME THE VIN NUMBER IS NOT COVERED AND THE SAME HAPPENED WITH CHRYSLER GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER ( NICHOL). MY CAR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS DESCRIBE IN THIS NOTIFICATION LETTER K39 BUT CHRYSLER DID NOT HAVE A GOOD PROBLEM SOLVING ANALYSIS OR TRACEABLE THAT WAS NOT INCLUDE MY VIN NUMBER. DODGE CHARGER IS LEAKING PINK ANTI FREEZE FROM COMPARTMENT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS OCCURS FREQUENTLY AND CAN RESULT IN ENGINE FAILURE. THE WHOLE PART HAS TO BE REPLACED INORDER TO RESOLVE ISSUE. *TR

WE OWN A 2007 DODGE CHARGER. CAR WORKED GREAT UNTIL I TRIED TO LEAVE OUT OF MY GARAGE. I TURNED ON THE CAR AND THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK. CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED THAT WE WOULD NEED TO HAVE IT TOWED IN. WE HAVE THE EXTENDED 72 MONTH, 75,0000 MILE WARRANTY AND THE MILEAGE AT THE TIME WAS 45,000. AFTER HAVING OUR CAR TOWED, THE DODGE TECHNICIAN EXPLAINED THAT THIS PART IS NOT COVERED UNDER OUR WARRANTY AND WOULD COST $323 WITH PARTS & LABOR. HAD VEHICLE SIX YEARS AND HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT ( LEFT AND RIGHT) TENSION STRUTS FOUR TIMES. MAJOR FLAW IN VEHICLE WHERE TENSION STRUTS FAIL AFTER A FEW MONTHS AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. LOUD CLUNKING NOISE IS HEARD EVERY TIME VEHICLE ENCOUNTERS A BUMP OR IMPERFECTION IN THE ROAD. SOUNDS LIKE VEHICLE IS FALLING APART. BELIEVE CHRYSLER'S ENGINEERS SHOULD REDESIGN PART AND HAVE IT REPLACED ON VEHICLES EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. *TR
