ON FREEWAY WHEN LIGHTS ON DASH ALL STARTED FLASHING. AS PULLING OVER, I LOST POWER STEERING IN MY CAR AND ALL ELECTRONICS. AS SOON AS I PUT IT IN PARK MY CAR SHUT OFF. LOOK UP THE P60 RECALL ON 160AMP ALTENATOR ON CHARGERS. I HAVE THE 180AMP THAT DID THE EXACT SAME THING BUT IS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED AS IT CAN BE A MAJOR HAZARD TO ME OR OTHERS. ALL WITH NOT ONE INDICATION MY ALTENATOR WAS GOING OUT.
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY TIRES EVERY 9 MONTHS AND ROTATE THEM EVERY 3 WEEKS. FINALLY, I ASKED MY TIRE SHOP WHY. HE SAID THE WAY THIS DODGE CHARGER WAS BUILT, THE TIRES ARE AT AN ANGLE SO THEY WEAR UNEVENLY, WHICH ALSO MAKES IT WEAR FASTER. I THOUGHT I WAS BEING FED A STORY, SO I TOOK IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. THE TOLD ME THE SAME EXACT THING. THIS IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND DANGEROUS. I'M JUST WAITING FOR A TIRE TO BLOW OUT ON THE HIGHWAY.
AT NIGHT OR WHEN HID HEADLIGHTS ARE ON FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES, ONE OF THE HEADLIGHTS WILL TURN OFF, LEAVING ONLY ONE LIGHT ON. IF I STOP THE CAR AND TURN OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTART THE CAR BOTH LIGHTS WILL BE ON. ALSO IF I TURN OFF THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH FOR A MOMENT AND THEN BACK TO THE ON POSITION BOTH HEADLIGHTS COME BACK ON. AT FIRST I THOUGHT I HAD A BURNT OUT BULB AND I TOOK THE CAR TO FIRESTONE TO GET A REPLACEMENT BULB, BUT THEY SAID BOTH HEADLIGHTS WORK AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I TOOK IT TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. NEITHER FIRESTONE OR DODGE CHARGED ME ANYTHING FOR THE CHECK. THEY BOTH SAID "NO PROBLEM FOUND". NOW DODGE SENT ME A RECALL NOTICE FOR AN ALTERNATOR PROBLEM. I WONDER IF THIS IS RELATED.
P60 / NHTSA 14V-634 IS A RECALL THAT IS CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE TO VEHICLE DUE TO MY ALTERNATOR HAVING 180 AMPS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE 180 AMP ALTERNATORS AS WELL AS IT FALLS UNDER THE SAME RECALL REASONS OF THE P60 / NHTSA 14V-634. I WAS DRIVING HOME ON THE FREEWAY AND SUDDENLY THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD STARTED LIGHTING UP. I FELT A LITTLE UNEASY ABOUT WHY ALL THESE LIGHTS STARTED LIGHTING UP, SO I EXITED. AS I EXITED, THE WHEEL BEGAN TO LOCK UP, AND BEFORE I KNEW IT, THE CAR HAD COMPLETELY DIED. I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I HAD NO DETECTION OF THE ALTERNATOR FAILING AT ALL AND WHILE THE CAR WAS SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, I STARTED TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR, AND CALLED TRIPLE A FOR A TOW. I WAS RELIEVED WHEN I SAW P60 / NHTSA 14V-634 ONLINE FOR A RECALL OF MY MAKE AND MODEL, BUT WHEN I GOT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY HAD ADVISED ME THAT I HAD NO RECALLS FOR ANY ALTERNATORS. THAT IS WHEN I FOUND OUT BY CALLING THE FCA GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER THAT MY ALTERNATOR HAS 180 AMPS AND THE RECALL WAS ONLY FOR 160 AMP DODGE CHARGERS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE 180 AMPS. LUCKILY, MY FAMILY WAS NOT IN THE CAR WITH ME WHILE THE ALTERNATOR FAILED. BEING STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND SMELLING SOMETHING BURNING IN THE CAR WOULD BE TERRIFYING FOR THEM. *TR
3 SEPARATE VEHICLE SHUTDOWNS WHILE ACCELERATING TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE AND TO OVERRIDE CRUISE CONTROL. ESC AND ABS LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH "ACC/FCW UNAVAILABLE VEHICLE SYSTEM ERROR" IN THE EVIC AT 30MPH. SECONDS LATER ALL WARNING LIGHTS SHUT OFF, THE TURNED BACK ON A FEW SECONDS LATER AND REPEATED CONSTANTLY. POWER STEERING WAS 100% LOST WHILE TURNING, ALMOST CAUSING ME TO GO INTO A DITCH. AT ABOUT 25MPH, AGAIN AT 35MPH, AND AGAIN AT 40MPH, MY CAR HAD BRIEFLY APPLIED THE EBRAKE BY ITSELF, EVEN THOUGH THE EBRAKE WAS FULLY DISENGAGED, AND A CLICKING SOUND COULD BE HEARD COMING FROM THE SHIFTER. THE SPEEDOMETER DROPS TO ZERO, THEN WARNING LIGHTS TURN OFF AGAIN AND SPEEDOMETER GOES BACK TO NORMAL FUNCTION. BRAKE PEDAL BECAME VERY STIFF, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STOP. WHEN I CAME TO A FULL STOP AT AN INTERSECTION, THE EBRAKE PREVENTED ME FROM ACCELERATING, THEN I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND THEN MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER THE INTERSECTION, THE BRAKE LIGHT REMAINED ON, SPEEDOMETER STAYED AT 0, AIRBAG LIGHT STAYED ON. DINGING CONSTANTLY, AS CARS NORMALLY DO WHEN YOU FIRST START THEM ( ABOUT 1 DING A SECOND). RADIO AND MOST INTERIOR LIGHTING SHUT OFF, HEADLIGHTS SHUT OFF, THEN CAME BACK ON AND STARTED FLICKERING, ACCOMPANIED BY A "BATTERY SAVER MODE" MESSAGE ON THE EVIC. WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED MOVING, BUT VERY SLOWLY. ENGINE SOUNDED WINDY, LIKE A SIREN FROM A FIRE TRUCK AND ENGINE WAS NOTICEABLY LESS POWERFUL. BURNING SMELL FROM ENGINE. ONCE STOPPED, CAR WOULD NOT RESTART, AND ALMOST NO POWER TO ANY AREA OF THE CAR. REPLACED BATTERY, WHICH FIXED NOTHING. WINDOW WAS STUCK DOWN, SO WE PULLED THE BATTERY AND PUT IT ON A CHARGER TO SEE IF IT WAS CHARGED, AND PUT IT BACK IN THE CAR. THE BATTERY WAS CONNECTED ABOUT 45 SECONDS, WITH THE ENGINE OFF BUT THE CAR IN ACC MODE, AND ALTERNATOR STARTED SMOKING. 20 CEL CODES. *TR
BATTERY SAVE MODE MESSAGE, CAR MESSAGE CAME UP, LOST POWER TO RADIO, AND THE CAR SHUT OFF. HAD THE ALTERNATOR TESTED AND IT CAME BACK OK AND REPLACED BATTERY. IT WORKED FOR A DAY AND GOT THE SAME MESSAGE AND RADIO SHUT OFF AGAIN.
LETTER FROM CONGRESSMAN ROUZER ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE 2011 DODGE CHARGER FALSE RECALL NOTICE ON THE MOTOR. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAD A RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED ON THE ENGINE, BUT THE ENGINE FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. THE CONSUMER CONCLUDED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ACTUALLY REPAIRED FOR THE RECALL AND THAT THE DOCUMENTS WERE FALSIFIED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE RECALL WAS SUPPOSED TO BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO HAVING OWNED THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE AND WAS SUPPOSED THE REPLACE THE MOTOR WITH A NEW ONE, INSTEAD REPLACED THE MOTOR WITH A REBUILT ONE. THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING WATER FROM THE EXHAUST PIPE, EXTREME SHAKING, AND SMELLED OF BURNING OIL. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO HAVE THE MOTOR REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE. *JS
I REPLACED THE STRUTS IN JULY AND NOW THE CONTROL ARMS IN DECEMBER. THE SHOP I WORK WITH STATED DODGE HAS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THESE COMPONENTS AND A RECALL SHOULD BE IN PLACE. I REACHED OUT TO DODGE AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE ISSUED RECALLS FOR THIS WITH OTHER VEHICLES, BUT NOT THE CHARGER. I HAVE PAID OVER $1200 DOLLARS TO REPLACE PARTS THAT I AM TOLD SHOULD BE RECALLED.
THE MANUFACTURER HAS A RECALL (P60) ON THE CAR BUT I'M NOT COVERED SINCE I HAVE A 180 AMP ALTERNATOR. I ALMOST HAD A MAJOR ACCIDENT IN THE MIDDLE OF A VERY BUSY ATLANTA EXPRESS WAY BECAUSE MY CAR SHUT OFF AND BLOWING A SMELLY AIR OUT OF THE VENTS. THE POWER WAS LOST AND IT HAD A MESSAGE SAYING BATTERY SAVER MODE. THIS IS NOT RIGHT THAT THEY WILL NOT COVER MY CALL AND IT IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT OTHERS CHARGERS ARE HAVING AND THEY ARE COVERED. IF SOME WOULD HAVE LOST THEIR LIFE THEN THEN WOULD BE OUT OF MORE THAN FIXING A CAR.
FOR SEVERAL MONTHS WHEN FILLING GAS TANK UP I WOULD SMELL A STRONG GAS ODOR IN THE CABIN OF THE CAR. AFTER THE GAS LEVEL WOULD START TO GO DOWN THE ODER WOULD GO AWAY. WELL, THE LAST FEW DAYS THE ODOR GOT REALLY STRONG AND IT DIDN'T MATTER HOW MUCH GAS WAS IN THE TANK, IT MADE ME AND MY FAMILY REALLY NAUSEOUS, AND AFTER A FEW DAYS OF THIS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR STARTED SPUTTERING LIKE IT WANTED TO STAUL OUT. WELL FINALLY AFTER ABOUT A WEEK OF THIS THE ODOR GOT SO STRONG THAT IT MADE ME VERY FATIGUED AND SICK, YOU CAN SMELL THE GAS IN MY CLOTHES AND MY EYES STARTED TO BURN. MY CARS ENGINE IS CLUMPING LIKE THE ENGINE IS ABOUT TO GO OUT SO I PARKED IT AT HOME AND SHUT IT OFF. I'LL HAVE TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. I'M SURE IT'S GONNA BE JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE'S CAR WITH THE TUBE LEADING FROM GAS TANK REFULE DOOR TO TANK. HOW THIS HASN'T BEEN RECALLED IS BEYOND ME BECAUSE IT'S AFFECTING THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES.
DRIVER SEAT BELT RETRACTOR IS STUCK AND CAN NOT PULL OUT TO BUCKLE. SEAT RELINE DOES NOT COME BACK UP IT WILL TIL BACK BUT MUST PULL HARD TO BRING UPRIGHT
(RE: 2011 DODGE CHARGER, 3.6L. ENGINE, 180AMP ALTERNATOR.) DODGE HAD A RECALL ON THE 3.6 L, 160 AMP. ALTERNATOR. MY CAR HAD THE EVERY SAME PROBLEM (11/20/2016) WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, CALLED DODGE AND WAS TOLD OUR CAR WAS NOT IN THE RECALL BUT IF THEY RECALLED LATER THEY WOULD REIMBURSE. WE BELIEVE THE 180 AMP ALTERNATOR SHOULD ALSO BE RECALLED, THE CAR SHUTS DOWN COMPLETELY AND WE WERE VERY LUCKY IT HAPPENED AT A LOW SPEED, COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF GOING HIGH SPEED BECAUSE THERE IS NO WARNING , AND STEERING, BRAKES, EVERYTHING IS GONE. THE TOW DRIVER HAD TO REMOVE THE CONSOLE TO GET IT IN N TO MOVE. THE BILL FOR THE REPAIR IS OVER A $1000.00, DODGE SHOULD PAY ALL OR AT LEAST SOME OF THESE BILLS FOR T HEIR CUSTOMERS
MY VEHICLE IS A 2011 DODGE CHARGE 80,000 MILES. FOR ABOUT 4MONTHS ITS BEEN SMELLING LIKE FUME, GASOLINE INSIDE THE VEHICLE LIKE IF THERE WAS A LEAK WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY, IN MOTION AT ALL TIMES. WHEN I FILL MY GAS TANK THE SMELL GETS WORST. SINCE IT BEGAN TO SMELL LIKE GASOLINE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON. I HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM BECAUSE MECHANICS ARE WANTING APPROXIMATELY $500 TO FIX THE GASOLINE FUEL SYSTEM. I HOPE I DON'T BLOW UP.IT IS A UNSAFE CONDITION TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE BECAUSE I HAVE TWIN 1YEAR OLDS. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER TO FIND IF THERE IS A RECALL BUT THEY STATE THEY DON'T.
WHEN THE CAR IS FILLED WITH GAS, IT EMITS A STRONG ODOR OF GAS AND LEAKS UNDER THE REAR PASSAGE SIDE OF CAR APPROX. 16 INCHES IN FRONT OF REAR TIRE. AS THE TANK GETS LOWER OF FUEL, THE SMELL IS NOT AS STRONG AND LEAK DISAPPEARS. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED. IF THE CAR IS DRIVEN WITH A FULL FUEL TANK, THERE IS A STRONG GAS ODOR INSIDE THE CABIN. THIS SMELL LESSENS AS THE FUEL TANK EMPTIES. I HAVE TAKEN VIDEO OF THE EXTERIOR FUEL LEAK APPROX.17 HOURS AFTER FILL UP THAT SHOW A STEADY FUEL DRIP EVERY 12-15 SECONDS.
ALTERNATOR FAILED WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WITH A CHILD AS PASSENGER, APPROXIMATELY 4 MINUTES AND 1 MILE FROM HOME, RESULTING IN A FIRE IMMEDIATELY AFTER PULLING OVER. FIRE OCCURRED AFTER VEHICLE STOPPED. DODGE REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANY ISSUES WITH ALTERNATOR DESPITE RECALL ON SAME EQUIPMENT FOR V6 ENGINES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE ENGINE FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
IF I FILL UP MY TANK OF GAS IT STARTS LEAKING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. FUMES CAN BE SMELLED INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND OUTSIDE AS WELL. ITS VERY PENETRATING. WHEN ITS HOT OUTSIDE IF THE CAR REMAINS CLOSE WHEN U ARR INSIDE THE FUMES BEGIN TO GIVR YOU A SORE THROAT AND SHORT OF BREATH. VERY DANGEROUS
MY VEHICLE STARTED MAKING A WHINING NOISE AND I STARTED SMELLING SOMETHING BURNING, THE BATTERY SAVER MODE CAME ON AND THE ABS AND I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND POPPED THE HOOD AND MY ALTERNATOR IS FRIED LESS THAN 60,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND IT WON'T START OR I CAN'T JUMP IT. I WAS SITTING IN A PARKING LOT AND MY CAR IS STILL IN THAT PARKING LOT RIGHT NOW
MY DODGE CHARGER LAST NIGHT WOULD NOT START. I GOT IT JUMPED AND IT STARTED, I LEFT THE CABLES HOOKED UP FOR A WHILE THEN UNHOOKED THEM. AFTER UNHOOKING THE CABLES THE CAR STILL WOULD RUN BUT LIGHTS STARTED POPPING UP ON THE DASH, I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND THE WIPER BLADES CAME ON, RADIO TURNED OFF, BATTERY POWER SAVER CAME ON AND ALL THE ABS LIGHTS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ETC CAME ON AND THE CAR JUST CUT OFF. I DID A LITTLE RESEARCH AND COMES TO FIND OUT THAT IS THE ALTERNATOR AND THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE IN THE 2011 TO 2014 DODGE CHARGERS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2011 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH IN THE RAIN, THE VEHICLE HYDROPLANED AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A MINOR INJURY THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED, BUT NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000.
EVERY TIME I FILL UP A STRONG ODOR OF GAS IS OBSERVED INSIDE THE CABIN OF THE CAR AND AREA AROUND THE CAR UNTIL IT GET'S DOWN TO ABOUT 1/2 TANK OF FUEL. I'VE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AND COSTING US CONSUMERS LIKE $1,000.00 TO $1,800.00.

PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ILLUMINATED IN DASH, TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OFF OFTEN WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE A SENSOR WAS REPLACED AND SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2016 THE CAR HAS BEEN HARD TO STEER. THE CARS STEERING IS STILL HARD TO STEER WHEN MAKING TURNS. IT ACTS AS IF IT IS GOING TO LOCK UP
YESTERDAY CAR WAS FINE, NO ISSUES. THIS MORNING, I STARTED MY CAR AND THE TOUCHSCREEN WOULD NOT TURN ON, THE RADIO WILL NOT WORK, BUT THE AC WAS SET TO FULL BLAST, WHICH I DID NOT DO. I COULD NOT TURN THE AC DOWN OR OFF. I TRIED TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON, BUT THE ISSUE WAS STILL THERE. I ALSO TRIED DRIVING IT A LITTLE, PARKING IT BACK IN MY DRIVEWAY, AND TURNING IT OFF AND BACK ON. 5 HOURS LATER I TRIED IT ALL AGAIN, NO RADIO, THE AC IS STILL BLOWING FULL BLAST AND THE TOUCHSCREEN IS STILL BLACK AND NOT OPERABLE, AND NOW THE EVIC IS SUDDENLY SPEAKING IN GERMAN AND THE EVIC STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS WILL NOT WORK. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR ANYWHERE SINCE I AM NOT SURE WHAT ELSE IS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY.
CAR DIED AT INTERSECTION WITH ALMOST NO WARNING. LOST ALL POWER WITH IN 1 MIN OF STALL. ALTERNATOR IS FRIED. CAME TO A STOP AND WITHIN 30 SECONDS A BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND SAID "BATTERY SAVER MODE". BELLS STARTED TO DING AND THE WIPERS TURNED ON. TRIED TO PULL OVER AND CAR STALLED IN MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. TURNED HAZARDS ON AND 1 MINUTE LATER THERE WAS NO POWER AT ALL. WHEN WE TRIED TO JUMP THE CAR IN ORDER TO CLOSE THE WINDOWS AND SUNROOF, THE CONNECTORS STARTED TO SMOKE WHERE THE JUMPERS WERE CONNECTED. FOR A HIGH PERFORMANCE CAR THERE IS NO ALTERNATOR WARNING OR GAUGE TO DETERMINE IF IT IS STARTING TO FAIL. THAT ONLY SHOWS THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THEY DO NOT WANT CUSTOMERS TO SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING. CAR WAS RUNNING PERFECTLY FINE UNTIL THAT POINT.

"TAKATA RECALL" FOR THE PAST YEAR OR SO I HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVE WITH MY DEALER ONLY TO HAVE THEM TELL ME THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THIS IS CAUSING ME AND MY FAMILY STRESS AND A HARDSHIP SINCE THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE. STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE WHENEVER GAS TANK IS FULL. WILL MAKE DRIVER LIGHT HEADED.
AS I APPROACHED MY CAR THERE WAS A HEAVY ODOR OF FUEL. THE NEXT MORNING UNDER THE BACK RIGHT TIRE THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF FUEL. I REMOVED THE BACK SEAT AND UNDER THE COVER THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF FUEL ON TOP OF THE PLASTIC OF THE GAS TANK. DODGE HAS BEEN CLEARLY MADE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND SINCE CHANGED THE DESIGN OF THE GAS TANK. FOR ME TO REPLACE IT WOULD COST ME OVER $2,000. THIS SHOULD BE REPLACED BY DODGE ASAP. THIS PUTS MY FAMILY AND I IN GRAVE DANGER BEING THAT OF THE ELECTRICAL WIRE THAT RUN ALONG SIDE THE UNIT. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I FILL MY TANK AND IT IS A CONTINUAL DRIP. AS I WAS DRIVING I SMELLED A BURNING ODOR AND ALSO NOTICED MY VEHICLE GOING INTO A BATTERY PROTECT MODE...RADIO, AIR CONDITIONER SHUT OFF. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR. I ENTERED MY VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE HAD NO POWER AT ALL TO START IT TO MOVE IT OR GET IT OUT OF GEAR.
WHEN LEAVING MY HOUSE ONE DAY MY RADIO CUT OFF WITHIN 1 MINUTE OF THE CAR BEING STARTED. I PULLED OVER, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THEN TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND ALL SOUND WENT OUT AGAIN WITHIN 1 MINUTE. I RODE MY WHOLE TRIP WITH NO SOUND. UPON ARRIVING TO MY DESTINATION I NOTICED MY CAR WAS IN BATTERY SAVER MODE (A MODE THAT I HAVE NEVER SEEN). MY BATTERY HAS BEEN BAD BEFORE AND I NEVER RECEIVED THIS MESSAGE. WITHIN A WEEK MY CAR WOULD NOT EVEN START AND HAD NO ELECTRICAL POWER. I ATTEMPTED TO DO RESEARCH ON THE BATTERY SAVER MODE AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS ISSUE WITH MY CHARGER IS ACTUALLY A COMMON ISSUE AND WAS A RECALL FOR THE V6 CHARGERS BUT NOT THE V8S. THE ISSUE IS THE ALTERNATOR AND I AM TRULY UPSET THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT CREATED A RECALL TO FIX THIS ISSUE. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL HONDA'S AND TOYOTA'S AND NEVER HAD AN ALTERNATOR ISSUE. THIS IS PATHETIC AND GOES TO SHOW HOW DODGE/CHRYSLER VALUES THEIR CUSTOMERS. I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT THIS WILL PROBABLY BE MY LAST DODGE VEHICLE IF THE MANUFACTURER DOES NOT SOLVE THIS ISSUE.

WITH ONLY 67,000 MILES ON THE CAR, THIS TYPE OF FAILURE SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.
HAD A CLUNKING NOISE IN REAR. RT REAR TIRE WAS WEARING OUT PREMATURE. FOUND A LOOSE BOLT IN RT REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM LINK AND BOTH SIDES HAD LOOSE CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS IN THE LINK ARMS. 4 TOTAL. ONE WAS ACTUALLY BENDING THE LARGE WASHER OUT ALMOST TO THE POINT OF FAILURE. IF THIS HAPPENED THE WHEEL WOULD HAVE BECOME LOGGED IN THE WHEEL WELL AND CAUSED THE CAR TO LOOSE CONTROL.

AND ON TWO OCCASIONS THE POWER STEERING FUSES HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THEY KEEP GETTING BLOWN OUT. HAVE HAD ALTERNATOR EXCHANGED AT LAST RECALL. FEARFUL THAT VEHICLE MAY STOP IN THE LINE OF TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY! HAVE VIDEO OF INCIDENT AS IT WAS HAPPENING. NO PICTURES
