AND THEY TRIED TO FIX IT ,.AND COST LIKE 2000 ,. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THEY DO SOMETHING BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPEND,.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, A STRONG FUEL ODOR EMITTED FROM THE INNER AND OUTER PART OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS FUEL LEAKING UNDERNEATH THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE ABOUT WHAT PART NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. ALTERNATOR SMOKING. ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON FIRST, THEN A WHINING NOISE DURING THE FOLLOWING WEEK. THEN DEAD BATTERY. WHEN BATTERY REPLACED, ALTERNATOR STARTED SMOKING.
DRIVING HOME FROM WORK 65MPH, ALL LIGHTS ON DASH WENT OUT, RADIO WENT DARK, A/C BLEW SUPER HOT AIR AND BLINDED ME AND ENGINE DIED AND WOULDN'T RESTART. I HAD TO CAREFULLY GET OFF ROAD ON THE HOTTEST DAY OF THE EAR TO FIND SMOKE COMING FROM 5.7L ENGINE. SMALL FIRE FROM ALTERNATOR! ALMOST HIT 5 CARS AND ALMOST GOT HIT BY 3. THIS IS THE SAME ALTERNATOR FROM THE PREVIOUS P60 RECALL, BUT ISN'T COVERED BECAUSE RECALL ONLY AFFECTS 3.6L ENGINES. WHY WOULD THE RECALL COVER ONE BUT NOT THE OTHER?
I WAS DRIVING ON A TWO LANE STREET AND MY CAR SUDDENLY DIED WHILE I WAS DRIVING 30 MPH. SMOKE WAS COMING FROM MY HOOD MOST LIKELY FROM A SMALL FIRE. THE ALTERNATOR DIED ON ME AND MY CAR DIED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I ALMOST GOT IN AN ACCIDENT BUT I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR WITH NO POWER LUCKILY. THE ALTERNATOR ALSO KILLED MY FUSES AND DESTROYED THE BATTER SO ALL OF THAT WAS REPACED.
BLIND SPOT DETECTION UNAVAILABLE- I PURCHASED A DODGE MOPAR 11 CHARGER THAT HAS A SAFETY FEATURE CALLED BLIND SPOT DETECTION. THE BLIND SPOT INDICATORS ARE LOCATED ON THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS SIDE VIEW MIRRORS. WHEN A CAR APPROACHES EITHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, A LITTLE ORANGE TRIANGLE LIGHTS UP TO LET THE DRIVER KNOW THAT ANOTHER VEHICLE IS IN ITS BLIND SPOT. IN JUNE OF 2016, I STARTED MY CAR AND AND I GOT THE "BLIND SPOT DETECTION UNAVAILABLE" ERROR ON MY HUD. IN ADDITION, BOTH TRIANGLES ON THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS WERE ON. AFTER CONDUCTING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, I FOUND A WAY TO TURN OFF THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION SYSTEM THROUGH THE CARS SETTINGS. HOWEVER, THE ISSUE STILL PERSISTS AND WHEN THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION IS TURNED ON, THE TRIANGLES LIGHT UP AND THE SYSTEM SAYS ITS NOT AVAILABLE. THIS FEATURE WAS NOT INCLUSIVE TO JUST DODGE CHARGERS, BUT ALSO OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES WITH THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION SYSTEM. THERE ARE SEVERAL THREADS AND VIDEOS ONLINE OF DISGRUNTLED OWNERS OF CHRYSLER VEHICLES THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE LEARNED FROM TALKING TO THE DEALER, THAT MY CAR (DODGE MOPAR 11 WHICH HAS 36K MILES ON IT) HAS TWO SENSORS THAT ARE LOCATED IN THE BUMPER OF THE VEHICLE THAT COST $1,100 A PIECE EXCLUDING INSTALLATION OF THE NEW SENSORS. IN ESSENCE, THIS IS A "LATENT" SAFETY DEFECT OF POOR DESIGN AND COULD POTENTIALLY LEAD TO THE LOSS OF LIFE. IF I HAD KNOWN THAT THIS SAFETY FEATURE WAS INTRINSICALLY DEFECTIVE, I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS DEFECT IN THEIR BLIND SPOT DETECTION EQUIPPED VEHICLES AND ISSUE A RECALL THAT RESOLVES THE SAFETY ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE ENGINE MALFUNCTIONED AND THERE WAS A TICKING NOISE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IDLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
2 WEEKS AGO I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM A USED CAR LOT. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME FILLING THE FUEL TANK ALL THE WAY. ONCE I LEFT THE GAS STATION I STARTED SMELLING GAS FUMES. ONCE THE CAR WAS PARKED I NOTICED IT LEAKING GAS UNDER THE PASSENGER SIDE IN FRONT OF THE BACK WHEEL. 3 DAYS LATER NOTICED IT WENT FROM HAVING A FULL TANK TO MISSING AN 1/8 OF A TANK. WHILE IT WAS SITTING AT WORK IT CONTINUOUSLY DRIPPED FUEL UNTIL I HAD A FLATBED PICK IT UP TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE LOT. PULLED THE BACK SEAT AND THE COVER FOR THE FUEL PUMP AND THERE WAS STANDING GAS AROUND THE FUEL PUMP. VERY BAD DESIGN TO HAVE THE FUEL PUMP AT AN ANGLE FOR IT TO LEAK THAT BAD IF A SEAL GOES BAD.
MY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. SO I WENT TO PEP BOYS TO GET IT CHECKED OUT. THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAVE A LEAK ON MY LINE THAT GOES FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR TO THE BACK OF THE CAR. THEY SAID THEY NEEDED TO CHANGE OUT MY WHOLE LINE SINCE IT IS ONE PIECE. I ASKED WHY THIS HAS HAPPENED AND THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THAT THE LINE WAS RUBBING AGAINST THE FRAME OF MY CAR. SINCE IT HAS BEEN RUBBING AGAINST MY FRAME, IT CAUSED A FRICTION THAT ULTIMATELY CAUSED A TEAR ON MY LINE AND STARTED THE LEAK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE PARKED, THE VEHICLE LEAKED FUEL IN THE REAR PASSENGER WHEEL WELD, NEAR THE EXHAUST PIPE AND THE BATTERY LINE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. THE O-RING AROUND THE FUEL TANK WAS REPLACED, BUT THE ISSUE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE SMELLED OF FUEL AND DRIPPED GASOLINE INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A NOISE OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE BATTERY, ABS, AND STABILITY CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A SAFE LOCATION. THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,600.
44,000 MILES AND ALTERNATOR FAILED RESULTING IN 1000.00 EXPENSE.
V8 MODEL, CAR WENT INTO BATTERY SAVE MODE AND SHORTLY AFTER THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. CAR ALMOST DIED AND I WAS FORTUNATE TO MAKE IT TO A LOCAL DEALER. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A BAD ALTERNATOR THAT WASN'T OUTPUTTING ENOUGH FOR THE CAR. CAR WAS IN MOTION AND IT WAS A COMBINATION OF STREET AND ROADWAY DRIVING.
HAD A STRONG SMELL OF ELECTRICAL FIRE FOLLOWED BY BATTERY LIGHT AND BATTERY SAVER MODE, THEN SHORTLY AFTER THEY WHOLE CAR SHUT DOWN ALL THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AND ENGINE WHILE DRIVING ON A 4 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR. UPON CHECKING FOUND THE ALTERNATOR HAD BURNT OUT AND IT WAS NOT CHARGING THE BATTERY. UPON CHANGING THE ALTERNATOR AND HAD NO ISSUES. HOWEVER I DO NOT BELIEVE A FIVE-YEAR-OLD CAR SHOULDN'T NEED AN ALTERNATOR! NOT TO MENTION AFTER I FIRST BOUGHT IT THEY CHANGED EVERY COMPUTER IN THE CAR AND EVERY MODULE IN THE CAR DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE! I'M SCARED TO PARKETTE IN MY GARAGE BECAUSE OF ALL THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS!
I WAS DRIVING, WITH MY SON IN THE CAR, AND MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM COMPLETELY FAILED. MY WINDOWS, STEERING, BRAKES,AND ETC. STOPPED WORKING WHILE I WAS DRIVING. BEHIND ME WAS AN LOG TRUCK FULLY LOADED. THANKS GOD THERE WAS JUST ENOUGH SPACE FOR HIM TO SWURVE AROUND MY CAR. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A DEADLY ACCIDENT. THIS ALL HAPPEN WHILE MY CAR WAS MOVING AND I WAS ABLE TO GET IN A SAFE POSITION BEFORE STOPPING THE CAR. AFTER IT STOPPED, NOTHING WORKED IN THE VEHICLE.
I HAVE THE V8 5.7L RT CHARGER THAT HAS A 160V ALTERNATOR. THIS EXACT ALTERNATOR WAS RECALLED IN THE V6 MODELS BUT NOT FOR THE V8??? MY ALTERNATOR WENT OUT WITH FIRST SHOWING SIGNS OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, RADIO, LIGHTS AND ETC. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I HAVE LEARNED THAT THIS PROBLEM IS THE SAME WITH ALL THE 2011-2014 ALTERNATORS IN THE CHARGERS. SOME PEOPLE ARE HAVING TO REPLACE THESE NOT JUST ONCE BUT TWICE BEFORE THE CAR IS EVEN 10 YEARS OLD. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE LOOK INTO THESE ALTERNATORS?
TAKATA RECALL ON PASSENGER SIDE AIRBACK HAS BEEN OPEN FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW, VIN LOOKUP SHOWS SINCE MAY 2016. NO PARTS AND NO REMEDY AVAILABLE, HAVE CONTACTED LOCAL DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE PAST YEAR. I AM UNABLE TO SAFELY CARRY A PASSENGER IN THIS SEAT WHILE THE DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT REMAINS UNREPAIRED.
THERE IS A RECALL FOR 2011 DODGE CHARGERS CONCERNING A WIRING HARNESS THAT EFFECTS THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. FOR SOME REASON, ONLY CERTAIN MODELS WERE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. MY SERPENTINE BELT KEEP COMING OFF JUST PAID $450 TO FIX 4 MONTHS AGO NOW IT'S COME OFF AGAIN!
I HAVE BEEN DOING RESEARCH ON ANY CARS LIKE MINE SUFFERING FROM THE SAME PROBLEM. YES THEY ARE. MY PROBLEM IS THAT SINCE FRIDAY THE 29TH OF APRIL MY CAR STARTED SMELLING LIKE GASOLINE. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. WITH THE ELECTRICAL DEVICES AND HEAT GENERATING DEVICES THIS COULD END UP A DEATH RELATED CATASTROPHE. MY COMPLAINT IS WHY HAVEN'T YOU AS A SAFETY ORGANIZATION DONE SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. PEOPLE WITH THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE KNOW IT IS A PROBLEM AND EVEN WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER THEY KNEW. TRUNK LATCH STOPPED WORKING AND TRUNK LIGHT AND TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON AND NO TRUNK AJAR ALARM LIGHTING UP ON THE DASHBOARD. STATIONARY. THE DEALER STATED THE LATCH WAS FRIED AND HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE UNIT AND BUTTON.
MY ALTERNATOR HAS GONE OUT, AND IT IS BARLEY 5 YEARS OLD. THE RECALL IS FOR ALTERNATORS WITH A 160 AMP. THE 180 AMP IS DOING THE SAME THING, SO WHEN WILL THE RECALL TAKE PLACE FOR THIS ALTERNATOR. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS BUT, STILL NO RECALL. THE SAME MANUFACTURE FOR THE 160 IS THE SAME FOR THE 180. PEOPLE ARE BEING STRANDED BOTH LITERALLY AND FINANCIALLY. I WAS DRIVING WHEN SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM MY CAR STOPPED AT O'REILLY'S AND WAS TOLD IT WAS MY ALTERNATOR. BATTERY SAFE MODE WAS READING ON THE DASH. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY ST HEADING TO WORK.
MY VEHICLE AT 61K MILES EXPERIENCED THIS NEARLY CAUSING A MASSIVE ACCIDENT. I WAS DRIVING AT 55MPH WHEN THE CAR BEGAN TO LOSS POWER, THE CAR DOWN SHIFTED FROM OD TO FIRST CAUSE ME TO SLIDE. I RECOVERED FORTUNATELY. TO THEN LOSS ALL POWER AND STEERING. THIS ALL OCCURRED WITH IN 30-35 SECS CHRYSLER GROUP LLC (CHRYSLER) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011-2014 CHRYSLER 300, DODGE CHARGER, CHALLENGER, AND DURANGO; AND 2012-2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE VEHICLES MANUFACTURED APRIL 22, 2010, TO JANUARY 2, 2014, AND EQUIPPED WITH A 3.6L ENGINE AND A 160 AMP ALTERNATOR. IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, THE ALTERNATOR MAY SUDDENLY FAIL. IF THE ALTERNATOR FAILS, THE VEHICLE MAY STALL WITHOUT WARNING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. VEHICLE RADIO KEEPS GOING BACK AND FORTH FROM RADIO TO AUXILIARY THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED OR IN MOTION. I ALSO GET A SYSTEMS UPGRADE WARNING WHEN I TRY TO SYNCHRONIZE THE CELL PHONE USING THE VEHICLE'S BLUE TOOTH.

SO I ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN GOT HOME LIFT UP THE BACK SEAT I NOTICE THE GAS SMELL HAS GOTTEN STRONGER NOW IAM LOOKING AT THE FUEL PUMP WITH GAS ON TOP ONE SPARK HOLE CAR COULD HAVE BLEW UP...THESE MECHANIC ARE A F..K.. 2011 DODGE CHARGER WITH 85,000 MILES HAS STRONG FUEL ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND ON THE OUTSIDE REAR PASSENGER PANEL. PANEL CODE INDICATED EVAPORATION LEAK. DODGE TECH FOUND FUEL PUMP SEAL LEAKING VAPOR INTO CABIN AND FUEL UNDER REAR PASSENGER SEAT. TECH REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND O-RINGS AT A TOTAL COST OF $525.
MY 2011 DODGE CHARGER HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR VARIOUS RECALLS. THE FIRST RECALL WAS FOR A DEFECTIVE WIRING HARNESS THAT CAUSED FUSED TO TRIP. THE REPAIR CORRECTED THE PROBLEM FOR A SHORT TIME BUT THE FUSES CONTINUE TO TRIP. THE LATEST RECALL IS FOR AN ALTERNATOR PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING PROPERLY UNTIL THE ALTERNATOR LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE LOST STEERING AND THEN ALL POWER AFTER THE ALTERNATOR LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. WHO IS REPLACING THE ALTERNATOR. THEY CLAIM THE BATTERY IS "SHORTED" AND MUST BE REPLACED. THEY CLAIM THAT BATTERY IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2011 RT AWD DODGE CHARGER ON THE FREEWAY, AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, ALL OF THE LIGHTS (INCLUDING, THE DASH LIGHTS, THE RADIO, THE HEADLIGHTS, I AM UNSURE IF THE REAR RUNNING LIGHTS WERE INVOLVED) SHUT OFF MOMENTARILY (3-5 SECONDS). DURING THAT TIME I NOTICED A CHANGE IN THE STEERING, THE WHEEL BECAME STIFF LIKE THE POWER STEERING WAS OFF. I LET MY FOOT OFF OF THE GAS PEDAL BUT DID NOT BRAKE SO I'M NOT SURE IF THE POWER BRAKES WERE AFFECTED, BUT ASSUME THEY WERE. IT SOUNDS A LOT LIKE THE ALTERNATOR FAILURE RECALL INVOLVING THE 6 CYLINDER MODELS WITH THE 160 AMP ALTERNATOR. (I BELIEVE THIS IS THE SAME ALTERNATOR THAT WAS USED IN THE R/T 5.7L HEMI MODEL) THE POWER CAME BACK ON AND I DROVE THE LAST 4-5 MILES HOME WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. I AM APPREHENSIVE ABOUT DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY NOW. LOOSING THE ABILITY TO STEER AND BRAKE AT FREEWAY SPEED COULD END IN AN ACCIDENT. AS AN ADDED NOTE, WHEN I ARRIVED HOME I CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY SMELL (ELECTRICAL) NEAR THE ENGINE, THERE WAS NOT.

MY VEHICLE WAS LEAKING GAS NEAR THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR AFTER I FILLED UP. WHEN I TOOK IT TO HAVE IT CHECKED THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS A LEAKING SEAL AND FIXED IT. ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER WHEN I FILLED UP AGAIN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN. AFTER KEEPING MY CAR FOR NEARLY 8 HOURS THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE FUEL TANK ON THE CAR CANNOT HOLD THE WEIGHT OF A FULL TANK OF GAS WHICH CAUSES A SEPARATION NEAR THE SEAL WHICH IN TURN CAUSES THE LEAK. I GOOGLED THIS PROBLEM AND MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT CHRYSLER REFUSES TO PAY FULL COST TO REPAIR IT. THEY OFFERED TO HELP PAY FOR THE REPAIRS BUT SAID THEY CANNOT FIX IT FREE OF CHARGE BECAUSE IT IS NOT A RECALL AND MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY.
MY ALTERNATOR WENT OUT AROUND 45K MILES IN 2013/2014. I HAD IT REPLACED; IT HAS SINCE BEEN RECALLED, BUT DODGE REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE WHEN IT WAS BROUGHT IN EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF SOMETHING ELECTRICAL BURNING ALONG WITH A LOSS IN ELECTRICAL POWER. IN 2016, AT AROUND 75K MILES, FUEL STARTED LEAKING FROM JUST IN FRONT OF THE REAR PASSENGER-SIDE TIRE. THE GASKET BETWEEN THE TANK AND PUMP WAS REPLACED. AFTER THE NEXT FILL UP, THE LEAK BECAME WORSE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO ANOTHER SHOP. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER WAS DRIVING IT ONTO THE TRUCK, GAS WAS SPRAYING DOWNWARD WITH A GOOD AMOUNT OF PRESSURE. THE SECOND SHOP ALSO SUSPECTED THE GASKET DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE FUEL SYSTEM. THEY ALSO REPLACED IT, BUT THE LEAK PERSISTED. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION, THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY HAD DEVELOPED A CRACK. I DON'T APPRECIATE THE THOUGHT OF DRIVING SOMETHING THAT COULD CATCH ON FIRE OR WORSE. APPARENTLY, THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS "REDESIGNED" POST 2011 MODELS. DODGE REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT A FUEL SYSTEM ISSUE CAN RESULT IN A MAJOR HAZARD. AN OIL CHANGE SHOP EVEN COMMENTED ON THE STRONG GAS SMELL AND WARNED OF THE DANGER.

GAS LEAKS WHEN TANK IS ABOVE 3/4 FUEL. IT LEAKS BESIDE THE RIGHT REAR TIRE,AND IT GIVES OFF A VERY STRONG ODOR INSIDE CABIN. THIS IS A HAZARDOUS SITUATION. THE GAS WILL LEAK UNTIL UNDER 3/4 TANK OF GAS.

I HAVE THE FOLLOWING ISSUES WITH MY 2011 DODGE CHARGER SE: 1 - THE VEHICLE HAS "CLICKING" NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEN POWERING ON THE VEHICLE'S HEATER. THE NOISE LASTS FOR ABOUT 25 SECONDS BEFORE IT STOPS. THIS IS A CONSTANT RE-OCCURRENCE. THE NOISE ALSO OCCURS RANDOMLY, BOTH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS POWERED ON AND OFF. 2 - THE TRUNK KEEPS POPPING OPEN EVERY TIME I START THE VEHICLE. IT ALSO OPENS RANDOMLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY, EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS LOCKED AND SECURED. THE ONLY METHOD TO OPEN THE TRUNK NOW IS FROM THE BUTTON INSIDE THE VEHICLE LOCATED ON THE DASH. 3 - THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS SOMETIMES HESITANT WHEN TRYING TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT HAVE OFFICIAL PAPERWORK PERTAINING TO THESE INCIDENTS AS OF CURRENT, HOWEVER, I AM FINDING THAT PEOPLE WHO OWN THIS MAKE AND MODEL IN SIMILAR YEARS ARE EXPERIENCING SIMILAR ISSUES.

IN OCTOBER IF 2014, THE BATTERY COMPLETELY FAILED SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING, I HAD TO REPLACE IT WITH A NEW ONE WITH MORE CRANKING AMPS! SINCE THAT TIME THE CAR HAS BEEN HESITANTLY STARTING AT TIMES AND WOULD SEEM TO LOSE POWER! THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING. THEN ON DECEMBER 25,2015 THE CAR BEGAN TO LOSE POWER, THE BATTERY SAVER MODE CAME ON AND THE CAR COMPLETELY STALLED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT A SPEED OF 45 MPH! THE ALTERNATOR WHICH IS A 160AMP AND SAME MODEL AS THOSE IN THE RECALL FOR THE 3.6L ENGINE FAILED COMPLETELY! MY CAR IS A 5.7 L HEMI!
2011 DODGE CHARGER / 82,000 MILES: LEAKING FUEL PUMP/COMPONENT ON PASSENGER SIDE. AFTER A ROUTINE FILL UP AN EXTREMELY STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE WAS PRESENT INSIDE OF THE CAR AND OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. POOL OF GASOLINE PRESENT NEAR REAR TIRE WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED. REMOVAL OF BACKSEAT REVEALED A LARGE PUDDLE OF GASOLINE ON TOP OF THE GAS TANK. FUEL PUMP O-RING WAS REPLACED BUT TO MY DISAPPOINTMENT PROBLEM PERSISTS. CONTACTED DODGE ABOUT ISSUE BUT THEY SAID THERE WERE CURRENTLY NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH FUEL PUMP EQUIPMENT AND COULD NOT POINT ME TOWARDS A CULPRIT. EVEN AT LESS THAN HALF A TANK THE SMELL IS OVERBEARING CAUSING HEADACHES MAKING THE CAR A LITERAL PAIN TO DRIVE. THERE IS A BATTERY CABLE RUNNING IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE POOL OF GAS AND THE GAS DRIPS BELOW AROUND HOT EXHAUST. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THIS WAY DUE TO THE RISK OF FIRE OR EXPLOSION. THIS IS A STATIC COMPONENT AND I FEEL THAT IT SHOULD NOT SIMPLY WEAR OUT. THERE IS ANOTHER ISSUE HERE THAT IS CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN. NEXT ITEMS TO CHECK WILL BE FUEL PUMP AND TANK ITSELF. EVEN IF ISSUE IS RESOLVED I FEAR THAT THE SMELL WILL REMAIN FOR SOME TIME. REALLY UNFORTUNATE FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS STILL BEING PAID FOR. I HOPE THIS GETS ADDRESSED SOON AS THE FUEL PUMP OR FUEL TANK ARE NOT CHEAP FIXES. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT FAILURE
AS I TURNED OFF A MAIN STREET TOWARDS A RESIDENTIAL AREA, I GOT A LOW BATTERY INDICATOR ON MY DASH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY RADIO TURNED OFF BY ITSELF AND MY CAR BEGAN TO MAKE A WINDING TYPE NOISE AND THEN MY TRACTION INDICATOR AND OTHER INDICATORS LIT UP ON MY DASHBOARD. THE CAR STALLED AND BEGAN TO SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD. I COULD NOT TURN THE CAR ON, CLOSE THE WINDOWS OR OPEN THE TRUCK OR EVEN GET IT IN A GEAR THAT I COULD PUSH THE CAR, IT WAS COMPLETELY LOCKED UP AND POSED A REAL DANGER ESPECIALLY IF I HAD BEEN ON THE FREEWAY! I HAD THE CAR TOWED AND WAS ADVISED THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED REPLACEMENT. I NOTICED OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH ALMOST IDENTICAL ISSUES AS WHAT I EXPERIENCED WITH MY CAR. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY MY VEHICLE IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST BUT IT NEEDS TO BE. MY CAR BARELY HAS 50,000 MILES AND IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD.
