THE DASH INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WENT OUT ON MY VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT, NO WARNING JUST WENT BLACK. THE SPEEDOMETER, TACH, GAS GAUGE, ENGINE LITE, TIRE PRESSURE OIL INDICATOR NOTHING WORKS. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE QUOTE FOR REPAIR IS 1500.00
BURNED OIL AND NEED TO PUT OIL IN AFTER 750 MILES. NEW ENGINE WAS PUT IN, BUT IT STILL HAVE PROBLEMS. THE PROBLEM FIRST STARTED 12/4/17. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND IT COMPLETELY STOP WITHOUT WARNING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT WAS AN ENGINE ISSUE. AFTER 6 MONTHS, THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED. IT WAS BURNING OIL
AIR BAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON STATING AIR BAG MAINTENANCE REQUIRED. BLINKS ON AND OFF LONGS CAR IS STARTED. BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT A MONTH NOW.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ISLAND CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (8983 OCEAN HWY, PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC 29585, 888-715-4208) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER WIRE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000. *TT CONSUMER STATED MANUFACTURER SAID IT WAS CONSUMER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX IT. *JB
WINDSHIELD WIPERS STUCK IN ON POSITION. TURN ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. WIPERS CAUSED A PERMANENT STREAK ON WINDSHIELD OBSTRUCTING DRIVER VIEW FROM ONCOMING TRAFFIC. HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE SPLASHED WATER ONTO THE CONTACT'S WINDSHIELD, CAUSING VISIBILITY ISSUES FOR THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT SPRAYED SOME WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID, BUT THE WIPERS DID NOT WORK. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES, BUT THE WIPERS DID NOT WORK. THE CONTACT STRUGGLED TO DRIVE HOME WITHOUT THE WIPERS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WIPERS WORKED TWO DAYS LATER WHEN THEY WERE SET ON "SUPER HIGH". THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,500.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER (JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM LOCATED AT 600 AUTO CENTER CIR, SALINAS, CA 93907) WHERE IT WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V800000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). AFTER THE RECALL REMEDY WAS PERFORMED, THERE WAS A LOSS OF BRAKE ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED A SECOND TIME UNDER THE RECALL REMEDY AS A COURTESY HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED WHERE THERE WAS A LOSS OF BRAKE ASSIST. THE CONTACT CALLED THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO BE DIAGNOSED AND THAT THERE COULD BE A COST FOR THE REPAIRS. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE RECALL REMEDY FAILED TO RECTIFY THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER FOR THE MOST RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,898.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A 3 CAR COLLISION ON A CITY HIGHWAY. MY VEHICLE WAS IMPACTED PRETTY BADLY AND SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED BUT DID NOT! I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION ABOUT A MONTH AGO DUE TO A FAULTY TRANSMISSION.
VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH PROJECTOR-STYLE HEADLIGHTS. I HAVE 3 MAJOR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS STYLE OF HEADLIGHT. 1) THE PERFORMANCE IS SUBSTANDARD WHEN USED IN HIGH-BEAM MODE. THE WIDTH OF LIGHT BEAM IS TOO NARROW, I.E. TOO MUCH LIGHT IS FOCUSED STRAIGHT AHEAD AND NOT ENOUGH IS PROJECTED ON SHOULDERS & AREA ADJACENT TO ROADWAY MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE ON CURVED ROADS. THIS IS DUE TO A DESIGN COMPROMISE RESULTING FROM USING THE SAME FOCUSING LENS ON LOW-BEAM OPERATION. 2)LIGHTING IS REDUCED WHEN USED IN LOW-BEAM MODE. THE SHUTTER THAT BLOCKS UPPER PORTION OF THE BEAM REDUCES THE QUANTITY OF LIGHT CAST ON ROADWAY. 3) SAFETY HAZARD IS CREATED FOR OTHER VEHICLES WHEN PROJECTOR-STYLE HEADLIGHTS APPROACH OR FOLLOW ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE INTENSITY OF THE LIGHT BEAM IS VERY HIGH CAUSING OTHER MOTORISTS TO BE BLINDED WHEN A PROJECTOR-STYLE HEADLIGHT SHINES DIRECTLY INTO THE EYES OF ANOTHER MOTORIST. THIS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY WHEN DRIVING ON HILLS, AROUND CURVES, AND WHEN BEING APPROACHED OR FOLLOWING A VEHICLE OF A DIFFERENT HEIGHT. (SEDANS BEING LOWER THAN SUVS OR LIGHT TRUCKS) MY COMPLAINTS ARE NOT LIMITED TO MY VEHICLE ALONE, BUT ARE DIRECTED TO ALL VEHICLES USING PROJECTOR-STYLE HEADLIGHTS. WHILE PROJECTOR-STYLE HEADLIGHTS HAVE GOOD VERTICAL CUT-OFF, THE ADVANTAGE IS LOST BY THE OTHER DEFICIENCIES. PLUS, LOOKING DIRECTLY AT A REFLECTOR-STYLE HEADLIGHT DOES NOT HAVE THE SAME BLINDING EFFECT EXPERIENCED BY LOOKING AT PROJECTOR-STYLE LIGHTS. THE RESULT IS NO REAL ADVANTAGE IS OBTAINED IN THIS AREA. IN MY OPINION, THE OLDER, REFLECTOR-STYLE HEADLIGHTS ARE MORE EFFECTIVE IN ILLUMINATING THE ROADWAY, AND DO NOT HAVE THE BLINDING GLARE OF PROJECTOR-STYLE HEADLIGHTS. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE PROJECTOR-STYLE HEADLIGHTS UNDERGO REDESIGN TO ELIMINATE THE GLARE PROBLEMS AND IMPROVE ROADWAY ILLUMINATION. IF THAT IS NOT TECHNICALLY POSSIBLE, THEN THEY SHOULD BE ELIMINATED.
ON THE FIRST DRIVE OF THE DAY WITHIN THE FIRST MILE THE CAR SHUTS OFF. THE STARTER GRINDS WHEN TRYING TO RESTART AND AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES WILL TURNOVER AND THEN DRIVES FINE. HAS OCCURRED SIX TIMES MOST RECENTLY SAT 11-4 AFTER TURNING LEFT ON A LEVEL SURFACE THE CAR SHUT DOWN AND COASTED TO A STOP. TOOK THREE TRIES TO RESTART AND THEN DROVE FINE.
I TOOK MY CAR IN TO HAVE A RECALL FIXED ON MY CAR. WHEN I GOT MY CSR BACK I LOOKED OVER THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND LINES AND THE ONLY THING THAT WAS CHANGED WAS THE SUPPLY HOSE. AFTER OIL HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY FOUND. YOU CAN SEE THE OIL STILL SOAKED IN PLACES. THE TECH PUT ON THE INVOICE THAT SHE CHANGED THE BOOSTER BUT YET THE BOOSTER WAS UNTOUCHED WITH FACTORY PAINT MARKS STILL IN TACKED. I LEFT MY CAR THERE AND WENT IN THE NEXT DAY TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE AND THEY TRIED SAYING IT WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING. I DONT SEE HOW SAYING YOU CHANGED A PART WHEN YOU DIDN'T IS A MISUNDERSTANDING. MI WAS COMPENSATED A FREE DETAIL THAT NEVER EXPIRES IN ORDER FOR MY BOYFRIEND TO TAKE DOWN HIS BAD REVIEW. SO THEY KEEP THE CSR ANOTHER NIGHT AND WHEN I GO TO PICK UP MY CAR I WANTED TO CHECK IT ALONG WITH A MECHANIC FROM A DIFFERENT BUSINESS. AT THIS TIME MY HOOD WILL NOT CLOSE DUE TO A BENT OR SNAPPED HOOD CABLE. THE TECH DID NOT DROP THE TRANSMISSION AND FORCED THE BOOSFER IN AND BOUND UP MY HOOD CABLE IN THE PROCESS. THE PUMP AND MASTER CYLINDER HACE STILL YET TO BE REPLACED AS THE R63 RECALL REQUIRES IF ENGINE OIL IS FOUND. WHAT MAKES ME FEEL UNSAFE AMD LIKE THEY WERE TRYING TO PKAY WITH MY LIFE AND SAFETY OF MY FAMILY IS THEY NEVER TESTED THE PARTS AFTER THEY INSTALLED THEM. THEY LIED ON BOTH INVOICES. EACH ONE SAYS THE CAR CAME IN AT 77491 MILES AND LEFT AT 77493 MILES AND I NEVERDROVE TGE CAR OFF THE LOT OR IN BECAUSE I DIDNT KNOW IF THE BRAKES WORKED. HOW CAN A CAR HAVE THE SAME MILES ON 2 DIFFERENT MAINTENANCE APPOINTMENTS IF THE PARTS WERE TESTED AFTER INSTALLATION? MY ODOMETER READ 77491. SAME AS WHEN I FIRST DROPED IT OFF ALMOST A WEEK AGO. SO EITHER THEY TURNED BACK A DIGITAL ODOMETER OR THEY NEVER TESTED THE PARTS THEY FORCED IN. I DONT KNOW IF THEY DAMAGED ANYTHING ELSE BY FORCING THE BOOSTE BUT I DOMT LIKE THE IDEA OF OTHERS PUTTING MY LIFR IN DANGER.

THE DUAL DRY CLUTCH SHIFTING FAILURES AND HILL START ASSIST ARE ADDRESSED HERE: THE CAR DOES NOT IMMEDIATELY MOVE FORWARD WHEN YOU APPLY THE THROTTLE IT CAN TAKE FROM 2-4 SECONDS TO GO FORWARD WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS. NOT 'TURBO LAG'. THAT ADDS TO THE TIME TO GO FORWARD. PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC OR CHANGING LANES CAN GET YOU KILLED BECAUSE IT DELAYS THROTTLE RESPONSE UNTIL THE COMPUTER DECIDES TO GO. SOMETIMES TURBO, SOMETIMES NOT AT THE SAME THROTTLE POSITION. WHEN COMING OFF THE BRAKES THEN PRESSING THE THROTTLE, DELAY AND SOMETIMES INAPPROPRIATE GEAR SELECTION CAUSES ERRATIC DRIVING BEHAVIOR. IN TURNS THE CAR COMES OUT OF GEAR ON ITS OWN WITH NO INDICATION. STEP ON THE GAS AND THE ENGINE REVS HIGH IN NEUTRAL. NOW IT'S COASTING THROUGH THE TURN BEFORE IT WILL ENGAGE IN [A] GEAR. YOU CAN SELDOM 'DRIVE THROUGH A TURN'. THIS HAPPENS AROUND A NORMAL STREET CORNERS, AND IN SWEEPING TURNS WHEN YOU'RE TRAVELING AT 40 MPH OUT OF GEAR. ENGAGING GEARS AT THIS POINT IS UNPREDICTABLE AS TO WHICH GEAR THE CAR WILL SELECT. THE 'HILL START ASSIST' (HSA) BRAKING PROGRAM; WHEN STOPPED POINTING UPHILL, THIS 'FEATURE' IS INTENDED TO HOLD THE BRAKES ON FOR 3 SECONDS PREVENTING THE CAR FROM ROLLING BACKWARDS WHEN YOU MOVE YOUR FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDDLE TO THE GAS PEDDLE. IF THE HSA FAILS YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER WHEN, OR IF, THE CLUTCH ENGAGES INTO GEAR. THE HSA PROGRAM IN THIS CAR RANDOMLY FAILS TO HOLD ON A HILL. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE DDC ALSO FAILS TO ENGAGE IN GEAR. THE CAR TOTALLY FAILS TO MOVE FORWARD AND ROLLS BACKWARDS REVVING IN NEUTRAL TOWARD THE CARS COMING UP BEHIND YOU. YOU HAVE PRESSED THE GAS TO GO FORWARD AND NOW YOU'RE GOING BACKWARD REVVING IN NEUTRAL. I NOW REFUSE TO DRIVE THIS CAR. IT WILL SIT UNUSED UNTIL RESOLUTION OF THIS ISSUE. THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE CRUSHED. *JS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS OR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE LOCAL DEALER (HUNTER DODGE JEEP CHRYSLER JEEP RAM, 1130 AUTO MALL DR, LANCASTER, CA, 93534, 661-948-8411) WAS CONTACTED. THE DEALER SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE DIAGNOSED; HOWEVER, THE APPOINTMENT WAS A MONTH AWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND RECOMMENDED SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 89,000.
IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS, MY POWER STEERING HAS STOPPED WORKING 5 TIMES. AT FIRST I COULD PULL OVER TURN THE CAR OFF AND IT COMES BACK ON. THE LAST TIME WAS 2 DAYS AGO AND NOW POWER STEERING WILL NOT COME BACK ON AT ALL. THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO WARNING LIGHTS ON INDICATING THE PROBLEM AND I COULD NOT PULL ANY ERROR CODES WITH MY SCANNER. EVERY TIME IT HAS HAPPENED, I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE GOING AROUND 65-75 MPH.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE MOUNTAIN ROADS TO DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY TO DRIVING ANY WHERE MY TURBO CUTS OFF AND I LOSE ALMOST ALL POWER CAUSING ME TO LOOSE POWER GOING UP A STEEP HILL AND ALMOST GET REAR ENDED AT LEAST 3 TIMES. FURTHER MORE WHEN I'M GETTING READY TO MERGE ONTO THE FREEWAY AND IT CUTS OUT CAUSING ME TO ALMOST BE HIT BY TRUCKERS. I GET A BURNING SMELL COMING FROM THE ENGINE BAY SMELLS ALMOST LIKE OIL OR WIRE SMELL. MY SPEED CONTROL IS NON FUNCTIONING AND MY EBRAKE IS ALSO [XXX] NEAR INOPERABLE. I WANT TO KNOW WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A TOTAL LEMON LAW FOR 2013 DODGE DARTS THEY ARE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE FOR THE OWNER AND ANYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD . SO IF THIS IS A NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRANSPORTATION SAFETY ADMINISTRATION WHY IS IT NOT RECALLED!!!!! PARTS OF THIS DOCUMENT HAVE BEEN REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that the transmission shifter cable had previously been replaced three times. While starting the vehicle, the transmission failed to shift into gear. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who replaced the transmission shifter cable, but the failure persisted while attempting to shift the transmission into park (P). The transmission had seized in reverse(R). The headlights failed to turn off, and the doors failed to unlock as designed. The contact crawled from the driver’s seat to the rear seats to remove groceries from the vehicle. AAA arrived and disconnected the battery. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who replaced the transmission shifter cable for the second time, but the failure recurred while attempting to drive from the garage. The contact had assistance in manually shifting the transmission lever under the hood before driving to the dealer. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The dealer repaired the vehicle under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V293000 (Power Train); however, an unknown warning light illuminated while driving. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V674000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 41,436.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE, IT FAILED TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND FAILED TO RESTART. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT CALLED AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
ENGINE WOULD NOT START DISPLAY SAID SERVICE TRANSMISSION. DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE ISSUE AFTER 4 DAYS.
IT WAS SEPTEMBER 23RD AROUND 11PM, I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, UPON TURNING INTO THE EXIT LANE MY CAR HIT SOME FORM OF POTHOLE WHICH MADE MY TOUCH SCREEN AND DASHBOARD TURN OFF AND BACK ON. I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH MY TOUCH SCREEN SHUTTING OFF AND BACK ON IN THE PAST, ONCE I'VE REPLACED THE BATTERY IT WORKED FINE UNTIL THAT DAY, THEN IT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN SO BEFORE ALL OF THIS I DID SET UP A CAR APPOINTMENT FOR IT TO GET CHECKED OUT 2 DAYS EARLIER. SO ANYWAY, AS I'M DRIVING, I ARRIVE TO MY DESTINATION. I SAT IN THE CAR FOR A WHILE ON MY PHONE AND DECIDED TO TURN ON MY AIR. WHEN THE AIR CAME OUT IT SMELLED VERY SMOKEY. SO I TURNED IT OFF AND ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER, A VERY LIGHT MIST BEGAN TO COME OUT OF THE DRIVERS SIDE HOOD. SO I DECIDED TO JUST HEAD HOME INSTEAD BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO BE STUCK SOMEWHERE AND I NOT HAVE A RIDE HOME, MY HOUSE WASN'T THAT FAR FROM MY LOCATION. SO THE FURTHER I'M DRIVING I NOTICED THE SMOKE BEGAN TO PICK UP A BIT SO I CUT MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON. I'M ABOUT 5 MINUTES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE AT THE POINT. SO I'M DRIVING DOWN THE RAMP TO MERGE INTO THE HIGHWAY AND THE SMOKE GOT SO THICK TO WHERE I COULD NO LONGER SEE SO I'M PUSHING DOWN THE BREAKS TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN AND FIND MY WAY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BUT THEN MY CAR LOCKS UP AND SHUTS DOWN. I COULDN'T TURN THE WHEEL, GAS OR BREAK OR ANYTHING. WHEN I COULD GLIMPSE THROUGH THE SMOKE I NOTICED A FIRE WAS COMING FROM MY HOOD, SO INTO MOVING TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 40 MILES AN HOUR I HOPPED OUT OF MY CAR AND IT ROLLED A LITTLE OVER 100 FEET TO ALMOST THE YELLOW LINE (IT WAS STILL BLOCKING ONE LANE). WITNESSES CALLED THE COPS AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT PUT THE FLAMES OUT.I REACHED OUT TO MY CAR COMPANY AND THEY SAID SINCE MY CAR WASN'T INSURED, THAT BASICALLY I'M OUT OF LUCK. I HAVE SCRATCHES AND SCARS STILL FROM THE DAY OF THE INCIDENT AND I'M NOT SURE WHAT ELSE TO DO ## VIN PASSED ## DODGE DART 2013 ##

BEFORE MOVING FROM NEW MEXICO TO MINNESOTA WE HAD OUR 2013 DODGE DART'S OIL CHANGE AND CAR CHECKED OVER BY A DODGE AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP. WHILE DRIVING ON SD HWY 212 UP A HILL SHIFTING DOWN TO 5TH THE CLUTCH PEDAL STUCK TO THE FLOOR. SO I FORCED IT INTO 5TH BEFORE IT ROLLED DOWN A SHARP HILL. (PLEASE NOTE DODGE SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG BUT THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS). DODGE CLAIM THAT CLUTCHES JUST GO OUT LIKE THIS WITH OUT ANY WARNING AND IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED. I HAVE OWNED MANY MANUAL CARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY CLUTCHES WEAR OUT. MY CAR ONLY HAD $40,000 MILES. I LEFT THE CAR BEHIND IN NORTH DAKOTA BECAUSE WE WERE MOVING TO MINNESOTA. THEY INFORMED US IT WOULD BE OVER A WEEK TO FIX. I WILL HAVE TO DRIVE BACK OVER 6HOURS (12 HOURS TOTAL TRIP) AND PAY FOR A NEW CLUTCH THAT IS PROBABLY JUST AS BAD. SO APPARENTLY IT'S CALLED A REVERSE LOCKOUT CABLE (BASICALLY A BICYCLE BRAKE WIRE) WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN CUT BY A PLASTIC CONNECTOR THAT GOT A SHARP EDGE OVERTIME.
WHEN IN MOTION, WHEN SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE SEATBELT SIGNAL, PASSENGER AIRBAG SIGNAL, AS WELL AS DIGITAL DISPLAY WARNING ABOUT SEATBELT AND AIRBAG SYSTEMS ARE ALL ON AND ALERTING US. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY (11 AUG 2017) AND THE DEALER CLEARED THE CODES, ROAD TESTED IT AND TOLD ME I WAS NOT DRIVING PROPERLY OR MAYBE THE FLUID GOT TOO HOT. I THINK SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION, THE CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY, AND I THINK IT MAY BE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND I HAVE A SIX YEAR OLD DAUGHTER THAT I THINK SHOULD NOT RIDE IN THE VEHICLE. AT 28450 MILES, TRANSMISSION WHICH IS A DCCT TYPE FAILED. CAR INITIALLY REFUSED TO START AFTER MAKING A STOP HAVING BEEN DRIVE JUST A 1/2 MILE. TOOK 4-5 ATTEMPTS TO START, BUT VEHICLE SHOOK ON STARTING, AND CHECK-ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED. AFTER DRIVING 14 MILE, THERE WAS A STRONG BURNING SMELL FROM CAR SIMILAR TO CLUTCH OR BRAKE BURNING. THE VEHICLE STARTED FOR RETURN TRIP TO RESIDENCE, BUT WAS SLUGGISH ON ROADWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND HAD PRONOUNCED BURNING SMELL AGAIN AFTER RETURN HOME. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NEARBY DODGE DEALER FOR REPAIRS AND OWNER HAS OBTAINED LOANER AT DODGE EXPENSE UNTIL REPAIRS ARE COMPLETE.
TAKATA RECALL: THERE HAS BEEN MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THIS CAR INCLUDING LOSS OF POWER, RAPID SHIFTING, TRANSMISSION FAILURE, STALLING, AND OVERHEATING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND TRANSMISSION LIGHT HAVE COME ON MULTIPLE TIMES, THE TCS AND PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHTS HAVE COME ON AND OFF AT THE SAME TIME. THIS CAR HAS HAD 2 PCM'S REPLACED, 4 TCM'S REPLACED, 2 TRANSMISSIONS (THE LAST ONE REPLACED LESS THAN ONE WEEK AGO), 2 SETS OF SPARK PLUGS AND COILS REPLACED, TIMING BELT, SERPENTINE, AND WATER PUMP REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION, SERPENTINE, TIMING BELT, AND WATER PUMP WERE ALL REPLACED ON 7/21/17 AND NOW THE CAR IS PRESENTING WITH THE SAME ISSUES. THESE PROBLEMS STARTED WITH THE FIRST OWNER (AND WERE NOT REPORTED TO ME) ON 8/6/13 AND STARTED WITH ME ON 4/16/15. AS OF 8/2/17 I HAVE THE SAME WHINING NOISE IN THE CAR (WHICH HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AS THE TRANSMISSION MULTIPLE TIMES NOW), THE TRANSMISSION IS UNABLE TO SHIFT OR LAGS OR SHIFTS TOO QUICKLY, I CAN FLOOR THE GAS PEDDLE AND THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE, WHEN I LET OFF THE BRAKE THE CAR SURGES FORWARD, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS BACK ON, AND THE CRUISE CONTROL IS NOT FUNCTIONAL. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MORE THAN I HAVE DRIVEN IT AND DODGE KEEPS REPAIRING IT AND THOSE REPAIRS LAST LESS THAT ONE MONTH AND THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN AND AGAIN. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND DODGE HAS YET TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. THE CAR IS SET TO BE BACK IN THE SHOP THIS WEEK AND IT IS CURRENTLY NOT DRIVABLE AND A HAZARD TO MYSELF AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. INTERMITTENT BATTERY LIGHT COMING ON AND OFF. I AM ON BATTERY NUMBER THREE AND MY SECOND ALTERNATOR AND NOBODY CAN TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. AS I WAS DRIVING, THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON, THEN THE SERVICE ABS, THEN THE AC WENT OFF, AND THEN THE SERVICE POWER STEERING CAME ON. THIS CAUSED ME TO LOSE MY POWER STEERING WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE DIAGNOSTICS, ALL STATING THAT THE BATTERY WAS TESTING FINE, ALONG WITH THE ALTERNATOR AND STARTER. AFTER INSTALLING A NEW BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR, BATTERY LIGHT STILL INTERMITTENTLY COMES ON. WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON, THE ALTERNATOR IS READING AROUND 6V AND WHEN IT IS OFF, IT IS READING BETWEEN 13-14V. WHENEVER THE LIGHT COMES ON, THERE IS THE SOUND OF A RELAY OR SOMETHING HAPPENING. NOT SURE WHAT ELSE TO DO. THE VEHICLE IS 4 YEARS OLD AND I AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT ANYWHERE OR HAVE MY CHILDREN IN IT. I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND NUMEROUS PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE INTERMITTENT BATTERY LIGHT AND ISSUES ASSOCIATED, SO I DO NOT THINK THAT THERE IS WIRING DAMAGE TO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE VEHICLES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (DAVIS MOORE LOCATED AT 7675 E KELLOGG DR WICHITA, KS 67207) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VACUUM TUBES NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN 2016 THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 15V80000(BRAKES). UPON INSPECTION IT WAS DETERMINED THAT NOT ENOUGH OIL WAS PRESENT INSIDE THE BRAKE BOOSTER TO CAUSE A FAILURE AND THE BOOSTER WAS NOT REPLACED. THE DEALER REPLACED ONLY THE VACUUM TUBE BUT APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR LATER THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAD FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND AUTHORIZED THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER FOR A SECOND TIME AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
"ENGAGE PARKING BRAKE TO PREVENT ROLLING" ALERT COMES ON AFTER ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES OF DRIVING AND COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE ALERT SUBSEQUENTLY COMES ON EVERY TIME THE CAR STOPS AFTER THIS INITIAL PHASE. ON OCCASIONAL, WHEN THE CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP AND IS PUT INTO "PARK" AND THE ALERT COMES ON, IT WILL NOT SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER GEAR. TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE THE CAR MUST BE TURNED OFF AND ALLOWED TO SIT FOR AT LEAST 10-15 SECONDS, RESTARTED, AND WILL THEN ALLOW YOU TO SHIFT TO ANOTHER GEAR. THE ALERT WILL THEN AGAIN COME ON WHENEVER THE CAR IS BROUGHT TO A COMPLETE STOP.
TAKATA RECALL WHILE MY VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON STREET OR HIGHWAY MY VEHICLE BEGINS TO JERK. ALSO WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR HAVING TO USE MY BRAKES BEFORE MAKING OR COMING TO A TURN I HAVE TO USE EXCESSIVE FORCE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP OR TO SLOW DOWN, WHEN DOING THAT MY CAR BEGINS TO SHAKE.
