TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. WHILE HER HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AT 45 MPH THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL, AND LOST POWER. SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (GAINESVILLE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM 3000 N MAIN ST, GAINESVILLE, FL 32609 (352) 372-4343), WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR, BATTERY, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND WHEEL BEARINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO (LAKE CITY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM 4325 W US HWY 90, LAKE CITY, FL 32055 (386) 755-3444), WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THE VEHICLE WAS WORKING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
E BRAKE LOCKED UP AT REAR CALIPER. SIMILAR TO NHTSA ID NUMBER 11109809,
CLUTCH IS STICKING IN THE 1.4L TURBO DART WHILE STATIONARY. CAR WOULDN'T START RIGHT AWAY BUT DID EVENTUALLY. HARD TO GET INTO GEAR WHILE STATIONARY. EMERGENCY BRAKE HAS FAILED AND IS NOT WORKING. AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON, ON THE DASH.
PARKING BRAKE (EMERGENCY BRAKE) CALIPER FAILURE REAR RIGHT. 33,062 MILES. WITHIN LAST WEEK OR SO HANDLE IS MUCH EASIER TO PULL UP. NOW, WHEN ENGAGED YOU FEEL LEFT SIDE OF CAR GOES UP AND RIGHT DOES NOT (LOPSIDED). YESTERDAY, I WAS DRIVING ON A LEVEL STREET AND LOUD CLUNKING NOISE CAME FROM RIGHT REAR WHEEL AREA. CALLED CHRYSLER DODGE HOTLINE TODAY AND TOLD IT WAS NOT IN THE BRAKE CALIPER RECALL. I MADE PRIOR COMPLAINTS TO DEALER THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD POP OUT AND ROLL AND IT WAS DISMISSED THAT I WAS NOT PULLING UP BRAKE PROPERLY, BUT I WAS. CHYSLER SAW THERE WERE ONLY A FEW COMPLAINTS (46) REGARDING THE BRAKE CALIPERS FOR MY VIN SO IT IS NOT IN A RECALL.
ONE DAY PASSENGER SEAT BELT LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT AND HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH SINCE. TOOK TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT WITHOUT ME PAYING 1600.00 DOLLARS. WHEN I DID NOTHING TO CAUSE THIS. I WAS ALSO 5 MONTHS PREGNANT. MY HUSBAND CALLED THEM AND THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD HIM THAT IF I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT MY AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY! TELL ME HOW THIS IS SAFE!?!?!
I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 DODGE DART ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WOULD NOT GO OVER 45 MPH. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE 3 WEEKS PRIOR, BUT AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON IT WENT AWAY. I MADE IT TO MY HOUSE PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND WENT TO PUT IT INTO PARK, BUT THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR. THE KEY IS NOW STUCK IN THE IGNITION. I TRIED DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY, BUT THAT DID NOTHING. ALSO THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT HAS CONSTANTLY BEEN COMING ON PERIODICALLY SINCE I'VE BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2013. YET THE DEALERSHIP AND 2 OTHER MECHANICS HAVE NEVER GIVEN ME A REASON WHY. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANTED $150 TO HOOK IT UP TO A DIAGNOSTIC. I DO NOT HAVE IT SO I'M STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO.
SEVICE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED AT APPROXIMATELY 60,000 MILES. WHEN A PASSENGER SITS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND BUCKLES THEIR SEAT BELT, A WARNING APPEARS ON THE DASH STATING THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT IS NOT BUCKLED.
WHEN I MAKE RIGHT TURNS MY LEFT SPEAKER CUTS OUT. MY TRUNK ALSO WILL OPEN ON ITS OWN AND THE ALARM WILL GO ON AND OFF BY ITSELF ALL THE TIME. I WILL BE IN MY HOUSE NO WHERE NEAR MY KEYS AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY ALARM WILL START GOING OFF.
I PARKED THE CAR ON THE SIDE OF THE STREET. AN HOUR LATER, AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND PLACING THE GEAR IN DRIVE, I COULD NOT SWITCH GEARS TO REVERSE OR PARK, AND COULD NOT SHUT THE CAR OFF AND REMOVE THE KEY. THE GEAR SHIFT WAS STUCK IN DRIVE, AND WOULD NOT DISENGAGE EVEN WHEN THE BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED. MOBILE TECHNICIAN FOUND THAT THE GEAR SHIFT CABLE WAS BROKEN.
THE 2013 DODGE DART WITH THE 1.4L TURBO ENGINE WAS A VEHICLE MADE THAT WAS MADE IN MURPHY'S LAW (EVERYTHING THAT COULD GO WRONG, WILL GO WRONG). SINCE PURCHASING THIS USED VEHICLE IN 2016 WITH 43,000 MILES ON THE ENGINE I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES OF MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. THE FIRST ISSUE I HAVE HAD WAS THE TURBO. I HAD TO HAVE THE TURBO REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY (COMMON ISSUE). THEN, MULTIPLE INSTRUMENT GAUGE FAILURES. NEXT, SEVERAL CLUTCH PROBLEMS (CLUTCH STICKING TO THE FLOOR EVEN WHEN DRIVING). THIS ISSUE WAS NOT FIXED AS THE DEALER DOES NOT BELIEVE THIS TO BE AN ISSUE. IF RESEARCHED IT WILL SHOW THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THOUSANDS HAVE WITH THIS VEHICLE. THEN, NEXT SET OF ISSUES BEGAN WITH MULTIPLE CALIPER SEIZINGS. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC OTHER THAN THE DEALERSHIP. THEY DETERMINED THAT THESE PARTS WERE FAULTY AND SUFFERED FROM A RECALL THAT EFFECTED SEVERAL CARS. WHEN CALLING CUSTOMER CARE FOR DODGE. THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING BECAUSE MY VIN WAS NOT INVOLVED WITH THAT SPECIFIC GROUP OF CARS. I PAID FOR THE REPAIR OUT OF POCKET AND THEN SUFFERED THROUGH TWO ADDITIONAL CALIPER FAILURES. ALL REPAIRS OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. THIS IS ALSO ANOTHER COMMON ISSUE. NOW, I AM CURRENTLY GOING THROUGH A VALVE COVER GASKET FAILURE ON A VEHICLE THAT HAS BEEN MAINTAINED AT 75,000 MILES (COMMON ISSUE). NOW THAT I AM OUT OF WARRANTY ON A 5 YEAR/100,000 MILE WARRANTY. DODGE CLAIMS TO HAVE STARTED THE WARRANTY IN 2012 ON A 2013 YEAR VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE LISTED AS ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS, EXPENSIVE, AND POORLY MADE VEHICLES TO EXIST. ALL OF THESE ISSUES HAVE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY ALMOST CAUSING ME TO CRASH SEVERAL TIMES. THROUGH DODGE-DART.ORG YOU WILL SEE SEVERAL DANGEROUS AND NEGLIGIBLE CHOICES MADE BY FIAT CHRYSLER AND HOW DANGEROUS THIS CAR CAN BE TO THE PUBLIC. I BELIEVE DODGE SHOULD OFFER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY UP TO 10 YEAR/200,000 MILES.
DROVE THE VEHICLE TO A STORE AND WAS UNABLE TO PLACE IT IN PARK AND REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION OR TURN OFF THE CAR, SUBSEQUENTLY DISCOVERED THE SHIFT LINKAGE GROMMET, THAT MAINTAINS CONNECTION HAD FAILED, ENDED UP HAVING TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE LINKAGE AND REPLACE GROMMET
VEHICLE HAS SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT ON AND SENSORS SAY THE SEATBELT IS UNBUCKLED WHEN IT IS NOT. HAS NEVER BEEN IN A COLLISION. NOW I STILL OWE 1 YEAR OF PAYMENTS AND MY ONLY CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
I AM TOLD THAT THE WIPER SWITCH IS BAD AND IT COSTS $852.00 TO REPLACE IF YOU CAN FIND ONE AND THEN DODGE WANTS $400.00 LABOR TO INSTALL THIS PART
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND ENGAGED IN DRIVE, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED BACK TO NEUTRAL ON ITS OWN. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE UNSUCCESSFULLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER AND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WERE NOT CONTACTED FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
AS SOON AS YOU PUT THE KEY IN AND TURN THE VEHICLE ON TO ACC THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE ALWAYS ON. SITTING STILL OR MOVING.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. WEAVER DODGE (2174 W MARKET ST, POTTSVILLE, PA 17901, (866) 639-1309) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25MPH WHEN THE WIPERS TURNED ON WITHOUT ME TURNING THEM ON, FULL SPEED, AND REFUSED TO TURN OFF. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE CONTROL SWITCH WHICH CAN ONLY BE PURCHASED AT A DEALER, VERY EXPENSIVE PART.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. AFTER REVERSING AND ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT THE GEAR SHIFTER TO DRIVE, IT FAILED TO SHIFT AND THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANUALLY TURN THE GEARS TO MAKE THE VEHICLE OPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (DON DAVIS DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP, 1901 N COLLINS ST, ARLINGTON, TX 76011, (888) 746-5421) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A GEAR SHIFT MALFUNCTION AND THE GEAR SHIFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
MY CAR IS CURRENTLY DRIVABLE HOWEVER I RECENTLY FOUND OUT THAT I NEED THE OIL PRESSURE MONITOR REPLACED ALONG WITH THE WIRING IN THE STEERING SYSTEM DUE TO OIL DAMAGE FROM THE OIL PRESSURE MONITOR BEING BROKEN. THE RADIO AND REAR VIEW CAMERA ALSO NEED TO BE REPLACED. THESE ARE TOO MANY ISSUES FOR A FAIRLY NEW VEHICLE. APPARENTLY THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS CHANGES COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE BUT I'M CONTINUOUSLY BEING TOLD THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS DESPITE ONGOING ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE THAT HAVE TO DEAL WITH MANUFACTURING ISSUES. THE RADIO STARTED MALFUNCTIONING OVER A YEAR AGO. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS/OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ISSUES HAVE ONLY BEEN HAPPENING APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS. THE REAR VIEW MIRROR STOPPED WORKING TODAY. THE CAR HAS ALSO HAS ISSUES STALL NO, NOT STARTING, AND CUTTING OFF WHILE THE CAR IS STOPPED FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW.
'TAKATA RECALL' HAVE HAD MY CAR ALMOST 2 MONTHS NOW AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. DROVE SMOOTH. THIS MORNING ON THE WAY TO WORK STILL NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER. NOT EVEN THE SLIGHTEST TO MAKE ME THINK THERE WAS ONE. THEN WHEN I LEFT TO GET LUNCH AND STUCK IN REVERSE IT JUMPED. I BRUSHED IT OFF THINKING IT WASN'T MAJOR SINCE IT WAS ONE TIME DEAL. THEN AS DRIVING I COULD FEEL THE TRANSMISSION STARTING TO SLIP. SO I HAD TO TURN BACK AND PARK IT AS IS.
THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AT ANY TIME. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL CARS AND THIS HAS NEVER, EVER HAPPENED BEFORE!! I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND INFORMED THEM OF MY ISSUE. THE SERVICE DEPT. ATTENDANT TOLD ME TO HURRY IN SO THEY COULD LOOK AT IT. I LEFT WORK EARLY FOR THEM TO TELL ME THAT, YES THERE IS AN ISSUE. HE THEN STATED THAT I WOULD NEED TO WAIT A WEEK TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR MY CAR TO BE SEEN. I TOOK IT BACK TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP LAST NIGHT AND DID AN EARLY DROP OFF, SINCE MY APPOINTMENT WAS FOR APRIL 10TH. I CALLED AT 1:00 SINCE I HADN'T HEARD ANYTHING FROM THE DEALERSHIP. MIGUEL THEN STATED THAT THEY HADN'T HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO LOOK AT MY CAR! I ASKED WHAT THE POINT WAS FOR ME TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND TAKE IT IN EARLY IF MY VEHICLE WAS NOT GOING TO BE "LOOKED" AT? HE PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THEY AREN'T ABLE TO LOOK AT MY CAR UNTIL THE CARS AHEAD OF MINE WERE FIXED. WHY MAKE AN APPOINTMENT? HE THEN CALLED ME TWO HOURS LATER AND STATED THAT I WOULD NEED TO PAY $400 FOR THE SENSOR MODULE TO BE REPLACED. HONESTLY, SINCE SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE MAYBE DODGE SHOULD HAVE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM TO FIX THIS SAFETY ISSUE. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF 3 TEENAGERS. IT IS DIFFICULT TO KEEP UP FINANCIALLY WHEN ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS ARE OCCURING IN A RELATIVELY NEW CAR!!! IN JANUARY I HAD TO PAY THE DEALERSHIP $500 FOR THE DASH MODULE TO BE REPLACED! I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN DECEMBER OF 2014 AND IT SEEMS LIKE I HAVE HAD ONE PROBLEM AFTER ANOTHER, THE BATTERY, THE MAIN MODULE, THE KEY FOB, THE SEATBELT SYSTEM, TO NAME A FEW. I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS VEHICLE AND WOULD REALLY CAUTION THOSE THAT WANT TO BUY A DODGE DART. AFTERALL, IT CAN'T BE THAT GREAT, THEIR OWN COMPANY DOESN'T STAND BEHIND AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THE VEHICLE. I GUESS IT'S ABOUT THE MONEY, NOT THE PEOPLE LIVES OR SAFETY.
WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FIRST CAME ON BACK IN APRIL 2018, BEFORE THE RECALL WITH THE TRANSMISSION CAME OUT THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WOULD COME ON WHEN THAT HAPPENED I KNEW I WOULD HAVE TO RESTART MY CAR BEFORE I COULD ACCELERATE PAST 40 MPH. THEN THE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF. NOW THE LIGHT ALWAYS STAYS ON ALONG WITH THE ABS SENSOR LIGHT. MY OIL PRESSURE SENSOR IS ALSO BAD AND KEEPS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING ONGOING PROBLEMS WITH MY 2013 DART SXT SINCE ABOUT 5 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE. ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS THAT HAPPENED WAS THE PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE COMING OFF - MORE THAN ONCE - AND HAVING TO BE FIXED. I BELIEVE THIS OCCURRED THREE TIMES. EACH TIME IT WAS "FIXED" AND THEN THE HANDLE WOULD COME OFF AGAIN. THE LAST TIME THE HANDLE CAME OFF, I WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY SO NOW I JUST HAVE A PASSENGER DOOR WITH NO HANDLE UNTIL I CAN AFFORD TO GET THAT FIXED. AS FAR AS THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD: THE DASH DISPLAY GOES COMPLETELY DARK AND RESETS ITSELF WHEN I AM DRIVING - ESPECIALLY IF THE WEATHER CHANGES; MY TRACTION CONTROL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS COME ON RANDOMLY; MY HEAT/AC TURNS ON OR UP WITHOUT ANYONE TOUCHING IT (AT RANDOM) AND I'VE FREQUENTLY HAD PROBLEMS WITH TRYING TO GET THE VEHICLE TO START WHEN IT IS COLD OUTSIDE. MY REMOTE START STOPPED WORKING OVER A YEAR AGO, BUT BECAUSE I FIRST HAD MY ELECTRIC WORKED ON AT FRANK FLETCHER DODGE, AND HAD TO TAKE IT BACK A SECOND TIME BECAUSE THE PROBLEMS WEREN'T FIXED, I STOPPED TRYING. ANY OTHER PLACE I'VE TAKEN MY CAR ALWAYS SUGGESTS I GO BACK TO THE PLACE WHERE THE ELECTRICAL WORK STARTED BUT I DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT BECAUSE IT SEEMS LIKE PROBLEMS GET WORSE EVERY TIME I HAVE TAKEN IT TO GET FIXED. MY DASH/CLOCK RESETS AT COMPLETE RANDOM. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND HIT POT HOLES ON THE STREET AND BUMPS ON THE HIGHWAY THAT MADE THE WHOLE SYSTEM RESET WHILE I WAS STILL DRIVING. EVEN THIS MONDAY, I STARTED MY CAR AT THE END OF MY WORKDAY ONLY TO FIND THAT MY CLOCK AND AUDIO SETTINGS WERE RESET AGAIN. I WAS TRYING TO KEEP TRACK OF THE SERVICE RECORDS FROM FRANK FLETCHER DODGE AND OTHERS BUT MAY HAVE LOST SOME FROM ALL OF THE TIMES I HAVE HAD TO CALL THEM IN THE PAST FEW YEARS. I HAVE BEEN EXPECTING SOME SORT OF RECALL OR BUY BACK DUE TO THE ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS THAT HAVE BEEN FILED, BUT NO LUCK.
I HAVE AN ONGOING ISSUE ABOUT THE BATTERY SIGN COMING ON SPORADICALLY. I TOOK THE CAR 3X TO THE DEALER AND NOTHING WAS FOUND TO BE WRONG. A COUPLE OF MONTH LATER AT LEAST 5 DIFFERENT SIGNS CAME UP WHILE DRIVING, A WARNING ABOUT THE POWER STEERING ALSO APPEARED BRIEFLY AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED WHILE DRIVING. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER THE CAR TO A SAFE ZONE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND YET AGAIN THEY FOUND NOTHING, THEY TOLD ME THAT NO SIGNS APPEARED. ATTACHED IS THE ONE PICTURE I WAS ABLE TO TAKE ONCE I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO A SAFE ZONE. IM JUST SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR AND HAVE THIS HAPPEN AGAIN, MORE SO SINCE WENT THAT HAPPENED I HAD MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN WITH ME IN THE CAR. I ALSO HAVE A VIDEO BUT I CANT UPLOAD IT.
SERVICE TRANSMISSION MESSAGE ON DASH AFTER ABOUT 50 MILES OF DRIVING NORMAL. WON'T SHIFT INTO SECOND GEAR UNTIL 4200 RPM DROPS TO 1000 RPM THEN SHIFTS INTO THIRD GEAR EARLY AT 2400 RPM WHEN TURNED VEHICLE OFF AND TRY TO TURN BACK ON IT SAYS AUTOSTICK NOT AVAILABLE. BEFORE STARTING VEHICLE, CLUTCH PEDAL GOES STRAIGHT TO FLOOR AND HAS TO BE PULLED BACK UP INTO POSITION. PROBLEM OCCURS MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK. AFTER CLUTCH IS PUMPED A FEW TIMES, IT REGAINS PRESSURE AND IS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN. VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 35,000 MILES BUT IS OVER THE 5 YEAR WARRANTY. EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL COVER IT WITH A $100 DEDUCTIBLE. DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO PAY FOR A CLUTCH REPLACEMENT EVEN THOUGH THERE IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY/ KNOWN ISSUE ON THE MASTER CYLINDER AND HYDRAULIC FLUID LEAKING THROUGHOUT CLUTCH COMPONENTS. ALSO HAD THE TURBO AND EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASKET REPLACED AT 20,000 MILES AFTER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON AND VEHICLE LOST POWER. AT ONE POINT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE LOST ALMOST ALL POWER WHILE TRYING TO MERGE ONTO I-95 IN WASHINGTON DC, ALMOST CAUSING ME TO BE REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. IT TOOK 4 TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE PROBLEM TO BE RECREATED AND EVENTUALLY FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE STOPPED WORKING AT ABOUT 15,000 MILES BUT I WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ONE AFFECTED BY THE CALIPER RECALL. PAID FOR CALIPER REPLACEMENT OUT OF POCKET. LOTS OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR, BUT DEALERSHIP KEEPS TELLING ME THEY "CANNOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE".
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUDDENLY CAME ON AND NOW WILL NOT SHUT OFF, CHANGE SPEED, OR RELEASE WIPER FLUID. ANY TIME THE KEY IS ON, THE WIPERS ARE RUNNING. THE WIPERS ARE NOW A DISTRACTION, AS THEY ARE CONSTANTLY IN MOTION. I CAN ALSO NOT TURN THEM ON A HIGHER SETTING WHEN IT IS RAINING HEAVILY.

ONCE IT HAPPENED ON A 23 MILE BRIDGE WHERE I WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF IT. DEALERSHIP HAS HAD CAR OVER 5 TIMES AND THE SECOND TRANSMISSION FAILED SAME DAY I GOT MY CAR BACK. I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY CAR BACK *TT *TR
IVE HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACE 4 TIMES STILL DOING THE SAME ISSUE. IT WILL GIVE ME A SIGNAL THAT THE GEARS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME AND THEN IT WOULD BE LIKE THE RPM DIE DOWN TO A LOWER GEAR. IT WOULD THEN REV HIGH IN 1ST GEAR NOT WANTING TO GO INTO SECOND BUT WOULD CATCH AS THE RPM GOES DOWN. 2 GEAR WOULD START UNDER THE 1000 RPM AND STRUGGLE TO GET TO THE THIRD GEAR.

WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND I PROCEEDED TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN THE VEHICLE STALLED OUT CAUSING ME TO SHIFT THE GEAR INTO PARK BEFORE STARTING THE VEHICLE BACK UP. I ALSO NOTICED THE INTERIOR LIGHTS FLASHING ON THE DASH AS WELL AS A BLINKING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARING.

PARKING BRAKE FAILURE AT 42K MILES. PARKING BRAKE ON REAR WHEELS SEEMS TO HAVE STUCK IN CALIPER AND DOES NOT ENGAGE. WHEN PULLING BACK ON PARKING BRAKE HANDLE IN CAR, THERE IS LITTLE OR NO RESISTANCE. DRIVER'S SIDE REAR BRAKE PADS WORE MORE QUICKLY THAN ANY OTHER PAD AND WERE ALMOST DOWN TO METAL ON INSPECTION / REPLACEMENT. ALL OTHER PADS HAD 1/3 TO 1/2 OF THE PADS REMAINING ON OTHER BRAKE ASSEMBLIES. THE VEHICLE IS PARKED ON A SLIGHT INCLINE IN A DRIVEWAY AT RESIDENCE AND BEGAN ROLLING BACK AFTER ENGAGING PARKING BRAKE. VEHICLE NOW MUST BE SET IN REVERSE (STICK SHIFT) AND PARKED ON FLAT GROUND. PARKING BRAKE NO LONGER HAS ANY BRAKING POWER TO HOLD VEHICLE IN PLACE AND PREVENT IT FROM ROLLING. PARKING BRAKE CABLE SEEMS FREE TO MOVE BACK AND FORTH. BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY WITH A ROTATIONAL CAME PARKING BRAKE ENGAGEMENT SEEMS STUCK AND HARD TO MOVE IN CALIPER. NORMAL BRAKING FROM USE OF THE BRAKE PEDAL SEEMS UNAFFECTED, JUST PARKING BRAKE. ATTACHED IMAGE SHOWS THE CALIPER REMOVED AND THE AREA CIRCLED OF WHERE THE PARKING BRAKE CABLE ATTACHES TO THE CALIPER PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY.
THE VEHICLE ENGINE WILL BUCK AND OR STALL IMMEDIATELY AFTER A COMPLETE FUEL FILL-UP. THE ISSUE CAN LAST ANYWHERE FROM 5-13 MILES AFTER THE FILL UP. AFTERWARDS THE VEHICLE OPERATES NORMALLY. IT OCCURS AFTER EVERY FILL-UP AND STARTED THREE FILL-UPS AGO. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY.

VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE APPROVED FOR RECALL CONCERNING (MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH) WHICH IS THE WINDSHIELD WIPER CONTROLLER AS ITS COMMUNICATING CABLES ARE TOO FRAGILE TO WORK UNDER REGULAR TURNING SIGNAL USAGE AS CABLE WITHIN COMPONENT GETS PULLED BY IT'S OWN REGULAR MOTION AT USAGE. THIS CAUSES THE CABLES WITHIN THE SWITCH TO GET CUT AND BROKEN MAKING IT TO BREAK COMPLETELY. BECAUSE THE PART IS NOT BEING PRODUCED BY MOPAR THE PART IS NOT FOUND AS DODGE DEALERS MAKE YOU WAIT IN LINE NEXT TO 400 OTHER DODGE DRIVER OWNERS IN ORDER TO GET THE PART (WHEN THEY START PRODUCING THE PART) WHICH THERE HAS BEEN NO CONFIRMATION OF BEING PRODUCED BY MOPAR.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, MY CAR CAUGHT FIRE. I NOTICED MY BATTERY LIGHT COME ON ABOUT 1 MILE FROM MY EXIT AND LESS THAN A MINUTE LATER FLUID SPRAYED ONTO MY WINDSHIELD FROM UNDER MY HOOD. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE AND AS SOON AS I STOPPED, SMOKE STARTED POURING OUT FROM UNDER MY HOOD. I WALKED AWAY FROM THE CAR AND CALLED 911 AT THAT POINT. DURING THE 911 CALL THERE WAS ONLY SMOKE COMING OUT FROM THE ENGINE BAY AREA. RIGHT NEAR THE END OF THE CALL I STARTED TO SEE PLASTIC THAT WAS ON FIRE DRIPPING BELOW THE CAR ONTO THE GRASS. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED LESS THAN 5 MINUTES LATER AND THE ENTIRE ENGINE BAY WAS IN FLAMES, 10-20 FEET HIGH. THE FIRE MELTED ALL THE PLASTICS AND MOST OF THE METAL OUTSIDE OF THE FRAME AND ENGINE. EVEN THE STEEL HOOD WAS MELTED AWAY AND GONE. MY CAR HAD A LONG HISTORY OF ELECTRICAL ISSUES DATING BACK A LITTLE OVER A YEAR FROM THE TIME OF THE FIRE. DURING THAT TIME, THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES ENCOUNTERED INCLUDED THE DASH BECOMING COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE AND NO ELECTRONICS WORKING, THE DASH SCREEN REBOOTING WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR CUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING, THE SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER NOT WORKING, AND MORE. DURING THE TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY REPLACED THE PCM, BCM (THREE TIMES), AND THE BATTERY. AT ONE POINT, CHRYSLER ENGINEERING WAS INVOLVED AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT WAS WRONG AND SAID THE CAR LOOKED LIKE IT WAS STRUCK BY LIGHTNING. ENOUGH PARTS WERE FINALLY REPLACED TO FIX THE CAR, TEMPORARILY, BEFORE MORE ISSUES. A COUPLE MONTHS BEFORE THE FIRE I TRIED TO GET CHRYSLER TO BUY THE CAR BACK BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES BUT IT WAS DENIED. AFTER THE FIRE, CHRYSLER AND KEFFER BOTH DENIED ANY FAULT ON THEIR PART. YET, I HAVE A THIRD PARTY FIRE REPORT SHOWING THE FIRE WAS ELECTRICAL AND STARTED IN THE AREA OF THE BCM, PCM AND BATTERY. ALL THE PRIOR FAULTED PARTS.

MY CAR WILL NOT DISPENSE WASHER FLUID WITH THE USE OF THE LEVER. I DID CHECK TO ENSURE WASHER FLUID TANK IS FILLED WITH WASHER FLUID RECOMMENDED FOR MY VEHICLE.
THE EMERGENCY BRAKE FUNCTION ON THE REAR BRAKE CALIPERS ON THE MANUAL VERSION OF THE 2013 DODGE DART 1.4L MULTIAIR TURBO SEIZE OVER TIME. IT HAPPENED FIRST WITH MY BACK RIGHT REAR CALIPER. I WAS DRIVING AFTER HAVING PARKED USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE CAR WAS PULLING HARD TO THE RIGHT AND WAS RESISTING ACCELERATION. I PULLED OVER TO FIND MY BACK RIGHT WHEEL SMOKING AND THE ROTOR RED HOT. THE EVENT WAS DANGEROUS. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY LOCAL AUTOSHOP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS GALVANIC CORROSION ON A SPRING THAT WAS INTENDED TO RELEASE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WHEN DISENGAGED. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THIS WASNT THE FIRST TIME THAT THEY HAD SEEN THIS ON THIS MODEL OF CAR, AND THAT I SHOULD EXPECT FOR IT TO HAPPEN ON THE OPPOSITE ASSEMBLY AS WELL. I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO REPLACE BOTH AT THE TIME, SO I ONLY REPLACED THE DAMAGED CALIPER, ROTOR, AND PADS. SLIGHTLY OVER ONE YEAR LATER, THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE OTHER ASSEMBLY. I ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT MYSELF. TO MY SURPRISE, UPON GETTING UNDERNEATH THE CAR AND COMPARING THE TWO BRAKE ASSEMBLIES, THE ASSEMBLY THAT HAD BEEN REPLACED WAS VISIBLY DIFFERENT. THERE APPEARS TO BE A COATING ON THE RELEASE SPRING. TO ME, THIS SIGNIFIES THAT DODGE IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND HAS MADE A REVISION, HOWEVER THERE IS NOT A RECALL IN PLACE. CONSIDERING THE IMPORTANCE OF BRAKES AND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKES TO MANUAL VEHICLES, I CONSIDER THIS UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE SEARCHED FOR RECALLS AND NOT FOUND ANY, AND I HAVE REACHED OUT TO MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT WITHOUT A RECALL, THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO.
