TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED; HOWEVER, IT WAS HARD AND REQUIRED ADDED PRESSURE TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V800000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
ENGINE EXCESSIVELY BURNS OIL. BRAKES, DURING A STOP, MADE A POPPING NOISE ALMOST CAUSING ME TO STRIKE ANOTHER VEHICLE. BRAKE PEDAL NOW HARD TO PUSH, VEHICLE NEEDS SIGNIFICANTLY LONGER TO STOP. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED, CITY STREET, 35 MPH.
THIS CAR IS 3 YEARS OLD AND WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM), AND TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM). THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON AND DODGE IS STILL TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. BEFORE REPLACING THE BODY CONTROL MODULE THE CAR WASN'T STARTING SO THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED, IT TURNS OUT THE BCM WAS STAYING ON AND DRAWING POWER FORM THE BATTERY WHILE THE CAR WAS OFF. WE WERE CONSTANTLY HAVING TO JUMP THE CAR TO GET IT STARTED. AFTER THAT THE TRANSMISSION STARTED ACTING FUNNY IT WOULD SHIFT HARD, SHIFT INTO LOW GEARS WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. ALSO WHEN FIRST STARTED OR STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC INTERSECTIONS THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT INTO 4TH GEAR ON ITS OWN UNLESS IN SPORT MODE AND DONE MANUALLY. THIS MAKES IT ACCELERATE VERY SLOWLY WHICH IS DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN PULLING OUT INTO AN INTERSECTION. AFTER REPLACING THE TCM THE ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION IS STILL OCCURRING, IT IS CURRENTLY BEING LOOKED AND THE CAUSE IS STILL UNKNOWN.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 54,695. I HAVE ONLY HADE MY DART FOR 1 YEAR WITH 55K ON IT.... IN THAT TIME IT HAS HADE 25K IN DEALERSHIP REPAIRS... I HAVE REPLACED ALL 4 COIL PACKS, SPARK PLUGS, AND FULE INJECTURES ON MY OWN DIME... THE EBREAK HAS BIN REPLACED ONCE AND AGAIN IT IS NOT WORKING AGAIN. THE AIR BAG LIKE CAME ON AND NO ONE CAN SIT IN THE PASS SEAT BECAUSE THE SEAT BELT BUCKY WONT READ ITS CONNECTED N BEEPS ALL THE TIME.. THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF.. IT HAS A KNOCK,AND TICK AT IDOL BUT GOES AWAY AFTER 3K RPM. I HAVE HADE NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR AND I AM STUCK WITH IT FOR 5 MORE YEARS... THIS IS BY FAR THE BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY I HAVE EVER HADE
I HAVE TAKEN MY DART TO HORNE MOTORS IN GLOBE, AZ. FOR RECALL NOTICE ON TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE MOUNTING BRACKET, THREE (3) TIMES, THE LAST TIME I WAS TOLD TO TRADE IT IN. IM STILL EXPERIENCING THE "SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL" WHILE GEAR SELECTOR IS IN DRIVE. THE FIRST TIME WAS INSPECTION, SECOND WAS PARTS REPLACE,AND THIRD NOTHING.
RECEIVED 2ND NOTICE OF RECALL R63/NHTSA 15V-800 STATING PARTS WERE NOW AVAILABLE AND TO CALL DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT IF NECESSARY. CALL TO DEALER WHO INDICATED PARTS WERE NOT AVAIL AND COULD TAKE UP TO A YEAR TO ARRIVE. HOW CAN AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL BE TREATED LIKE ITS NO PROBLEM? THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND I WOULD LIKE AN IMMEDIATE REPLY TO FEEL I'M DOING MY BEST TO KEEP MY FAMILY SAFE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CABLE FAILED AND THE TCM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V542000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
THE CAR WILL RANDOMLY GO INTO NEUTRAL MODE, AND WILL NOT STAY IN GEAR WHILE DRIVING. IT WILL SAY GEAR NOT AVAILABLE ON THE SCREEN. IT HAS DONE IT ABOUT 5 TIMES IN LESS THAN A MONTH. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE TCM TWICE, BUT THAT DOES NOT WORK. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP ABOUT 4 TIMES FOR THIS ONE ISSUE. ONCE IN A SAFE PLACE I CAN CHANGE GEARS BUT STILL SAYS NO GEARS AVAILABLE. TURN OFF AND ON THE CAR, AND IT WILL NOT START. WAIT 20 MIN AND IT MIGHT WORK AGAIN, BUT NOT SURE FOR HOW LONG. IF I CAN GET IT TO START, THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES I CAN NOT GET IT OUT OF PARK. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS ON MAY 10TH 2016 ON HIGHWAY 290 IN HOUSTON. THE CAR SAID SERVICE TRANSMISSION, BUT NOW I WOULD BE COSTING. IF I GIVE IT GAS THE RPMS WILL GO UP, BUT THE MPH WILL GO DOWN. I HAD TO COST IT OFF THE FREEWAY SINCE THERE WAS NOT A SHOULDER TO STOP ON. ONCE I GOT IT OFF THE FREEWWAY, I HAD TO PUSH IT TO A PARKING LOT. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH, AND THE DEALER CAN'T FIX THE ISSUE. THE PUT IN A NEW TCM ON THE DART ON 5/10/16, PICKED IT UP AT AROUND NOON. AT AROUND 8PM THE CAR HAD THE SAME ISSUES AGAIN.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A SPECIFIC DATE THAT THE DEALER WOULD RECEIVE THE PARTS SO THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
GAUGES WILL FREEZE WHILE DRIVING, BUT RESET AFTER 20 MINUTES. HAS HAPPENED ON 4 SEPARATE OCCURENCES. WHILE DRIVING DOWN AN EXPRESSWAY AT 50MPH IN THE CITY, THE CAR LOST BOOST(PRESSURE FROM THE TURBO) CAUSING IT TO LOSE POWER DRAMATICALLY REDUCING SAFETY AND FUEL ECONOMY. THE CAR LOST THE ABILITY TO MERT SPEED LIMIT AND SLOWING DOWN TRAFFIC BEHIND AND THE ABILITY TO GET UP A HILL IN MY AREA. RESEARCH HAS SHOWN COUNTLESS OTHER PEOPLE BEING AFFECTED BY THE P0299 LOW PRESSURE CODE.
VEHICLE STALLED OUT IN COLD WEATHER WHILE I WAS DRIVING. CAR BEGIN TO ROLL BACK BECAUSE I WAS ON TRAVELING ON A HILL. I HAD TO MENUVER VEHICLE DOWN HILL. AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE CAR STARTED,. VEHICLE EMERGENCY BRAKE WILL NOT HOLD VEHICLE ON ANY KIND OF GRADED SURFACE. I ONCE PARTED IN FRIENDS DRIVE PULLED UP EMERGENCY ALL THE WAY UP TURN CAR OFF. WENT TO VISIT FRIEND A FEW MINUTE AND WHEN CAME OUT THE HOUSE VEHICLE WAS ROLLING BACKWARDS. I OPEN THE JUMPED IN CAR MEANWHILE CAR WAS ALREADY IN STREET WITH PARTED CARS AND MOVING TRAFFIC. I WAS ABLE TO JUMP IN USE FOOT BRAKE TO STOP VEHICLE WITHOUT INSIDENT( TOOK TO DEALER FOR REPAIRED 3 TIMES IN TWO YEARS, JUST REPAIRED LAST WEEK PHASE 1 ENGINE FAILURE TWICE WITHIN FIRST YEAR AND HALF. CAR SPUTTER AND JERKED DROVE ROUGH. TOOK TO DEALER REPAIR TWICE ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. DURING REPAIR DEALER KEPT VEHICLE 3 WEEKS ON REPAIR AND OVER A WEEK ON THE OTHER. DEALER REASON FOR DELAY WAS WAITING ON PART. I AM VERY IN SATISFIED WITH VEHICLE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE IN THE THREE YEARS I HAD IT I'M DRIVING VEHICLE LESS AND LESS BECAUSE OF QUALITY ISSUES AND RELIABILITY ISSUE MAKES ME AND MY FAMILY FEEL UNSAFE.

THE CAR HAS BEEN LEAKING OIL AT A RATE OF 3 QUARTS IN TWO WEEKS. IT IS IN NOW FOR THE 2ND REPAIR IN THAT TIMEFRAME. THE CAR LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY TWICE AFTER THE ATTEMPTED REPAIR.

I HAVE TOOKEN THE CAR MULTIPLE TIMES TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME EXACT REASON AND ITS ALWAYS THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT AIR BAG THE AIRBAG WAS REPLACED ALONG WITH THE HARNESSES LESS THEN A YEAR AGO AND NOW I HAVE A AUR BAG LIGHT AGAIN. BEFORE THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT WOULD TURN ON AS WELL AND THEY WOULD RESET THE SYSTEM FROM WHAT THEY TIOLD ME AND MONTHS LATER AGAIN WITH AIRBAG LIGHT. THIS IS A SAFETLY ISSUE AND I CANNOT BE DRIVING THIS CAR LIKE THIS. EVERYTIME THE LIGHT WOULD TURN ON IT WOULD BE WHILE DRIVING JUST RANDOMLY

"SERVICE TRANSMISSION" ERROR COMES ON THE DASH AND STOPS RUNNING PROPERLY. IF TURNED OFF AFTER ERROR, THE CAR WILL NOT TURN BACK ON AND GIVES AN "AUTO STICK UNAVAILABLE" ERROR AND REQUESTS SERVICE. I'VE HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIND ANY ISSUES.

THE DARTS BREAKS STARTED TO FLUTTER AND THEN FEEL WARPED. UPON REMOVE THE ROTORS WERE IMPERFECT BASED ON POOR QUALITY MOLDING/CASTING. THE BACKSIDE OF THE ROTORS HAVE GOUGES WHERE THEY HAVE RUSTED BUT THE BREAK PADS HAVE NEVER TOUCHED AND IN SOME AREAS THE CASTING LOOKS LIKE IT POOLED AND COOLED DIFFERENT THEN THE REST OF THE ROTORS... VERY CRUDDY AND NASTY ACROSS THE ROTORS. THE CAR STARTED THE ISSUE WHEN IT ONLY HAD 10K ON IT AND IT NOW HAS 17.5K AND IS GETTING WORST.

AFTER APPLYING THE EBRAKE AND MANUALLY GOING UNDER THE HOOD TO SWITCH THE LEVER TO PARK OR NEUTRAL WAS THE CAR ABLE TO BE STOPPED AND TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. THE ONLY OFFER TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WETHER IT IS THE PIECE CONNECTED TO THE LEVER OR THE ACTUALLY SHIFT IS TO GET A COMPLETELY NEW CABLE. THIS CABLE IS NOT PART OF THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY ALTHOUGH THE PRNDL POSITION SWITCH IS. A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF OTHER DODGE DART OWNERS HAVE REPORTED THE SAME PROBLEM OR PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (ONLY RECALLED IN 1.4L TURBOS). BOTH ARE SERIOUS PROBLEMS THAT AFFECT AND CAN HINDER THE DRIVABILITY OF THE CAR.
I AM WRITING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE LENGTH OF TIME THAT IT TOOK FOR MY VEHICLE. IT STATED CLEARLY IN THE RECALL LETTER I RECEIVED THAT THE SERVICE WOULD TAKE 1 HOUR. MAYBE A LITTLE LONGER. I CALLED THEM 2 DAYS LATER AND WAS TOLD PARTS NEEDED TO BE ORDERED, AND IT WOULD BE 2 WEEKS UNTIL THEY (THE DEALERSHIP) COULD GET THEM. AFTER THE 2 WEEKS, WITH NO UPDATE FROM THEM, I GOT A CALL SAYING THE PARTS DIDNT TAKE, THEY WOULD HAVE TO ORDER THEM AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED ONE MORE TIME. ALL IN ALL MY CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR A MONTH FOR A 1 HOUR TREATMENT. ON TOP OF THAT MY VEHICLE, WHICH I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IN, WAS RETURNED TO ME FILTHY AND WITH A BROKEN SEAT. AFTER OVER 30 DAYS IN A DEALERSHIP AND IT COULDNT EVEN BE DETAILED OR CLEANED?? MAYBE AN OIL CHANGE? I HAVE COMPLAINED TO DODGE AND THEY ARE SWEEPING IT UNDER THE RUG JUST AS THE DEALERSHIP HAS DONE.
CAR HAS KUHMO TIRES FROM THE FACTORY. THIS VEHICLE CANNOT GO OVER ANY TYPE OF BUMP WITHOUT AN IMPACT BREAK FORMING ON THE TIRE.
THE CAR WAS IN A BAD ACCIDENT 20 MARCH 2016. THE PASSENGER SEATBELT DID NOT TIGHTEN AND NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED POSSIBLY CONTRIBUTING TO SEVERE NECK INJURY. THIS VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 35 MPH WHEN A VEHICLE NEXT TO IT TRAVELING THE SAME SPEED DECIDED TO MAKE A U-TURN IN FRONT OF IT ON A CITY ONE-WAY ROAD. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ASAP BEFORE THE CAR IS DISPOSITIONED BY THE INSURANCE.
IN MARCH OF 2016 I WAS IN A HOME DEPOT PARKING LOT, TURNED MY VEHICLE ON, AND PLACED THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE. I MAINTAINED MY FOOT ON THE BREAK AND DID NOT RELEASE. I THEN RELEASED THE BREAK AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE VERY FAST WITHOUT PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR, ALMOST COLLIDING INTO A FAMILY OF 5 WALKING THROUGH THE PARKING LOT. EVEN AFTER PUSHING ON THE BREAK THE VEHICLE KEPT ACCELERATING UNTIL I MOVED THE VEHICLE TO THE NEUTRAL POSITION. THE VEHICLE THEN KEPT ACCELERATING UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 7000 RPM'S THEN STOPPED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THE CAR ALSO ACCELERATED ON HIM EVEN THOUGH HE DID NOT PUSH ON THE ACCELERATOR.
