WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PUSH IT WAS HARD AS A ROCK AND NO BRAKES, HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP ,ALMOST GETTING HIT IN A INTERSECTION. FOUND THAT THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP HAD SEIZED AND CHECK VALVE TO BOOSTER HAD FAILED INTRODUCING ENGINE OIL INTO BRAKE BOOSTER. DEALERSHIPS HAVE CLAIMED IT WAS NO PROBLEM WHEN RECALL WAS ISSUED AND ANOTHER SAID RECALL HAS EXPIRED. I THOUGHT THEY HAVE UP TO 8 TO 10 YEARS TO FIX SAFETY RECALLS.
THERE HAS TO BE SOME KIND OF ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLES COMPUTER SYSTEM. MY IPHONE NO LONGER CONNECTS TO THE CAR VIA BLUETOOTH, THE ENTIRE COMPUTER SCREEN WILL SHUT DOWN AND RELOAD RANDOMLY, THE REVERSE CAMERA GOES IN AND OUT (SOMETIMES IT WORKS AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T, AND THERE ARE TIMES WHEN THE BUTTONS ON THE RADIO FUNCTION WON'T WORK AT ALL.
WHEEL LUGS SWELL AND BECOME IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE FROM THE WHEEL HUB, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO CHANGE A FLAT TIRE, A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM ON BUSY STREETS. VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TOWED, WITH EXPENSIVE REPAIRS, SIMPLY TO CHANGE A TIRE. AN INTERNET SEARCH CONFIRMED THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR MANY DODGE DART OWNERS.
THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION SIGNAL KEEPS COMING ON TO THE DASH BOARD THE CAR DOESN'T WANT TO GO IN GEAR FROM PARK TO REVERSE. SOMETIMES IT GIVES TROUBLE GOING FORWARD & IT SWITCHES AUTOMATICALLY TO NEUTRAL. 2013 IS THE WORST MODEL I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH IT SINCE I GOT IT.
FEDERAL RECALL IN 2013 DODGE DART ON BRAKE BOOSTER, SERVICED IN 2016 FOR RECALL ONE PART REPLACED FOR RECALL, THE HOSE BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T FIND CONTAMINATION THEN! NOW MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE ,SITTING AT CRYSLER DEALERSHIP NOW 2020 DUE TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER MANUFACTURING ISSUE, AS A SAFETY RECALL ,I THE CUSTOMER SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COST TO FIX FEDERAL RECALL IN MY VEHICLE!!! IF ALL PARTS OF RECALL WERE REPLACED BACK WHEN RECALL WAS ISSUED I WOULD NOT BE RUNNING INTO SAFETY ISSUES RELATING TO MY PROBLEMS NOW! CAR RANDOMLY REVS AND GOES INTO A STEALTH MODE WHERE YOU MUST DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE ENGINE. ALSO THE CAR RANDOMLY STATES THAT THE CAR IS NOT IN PARK WHEN IT IS AND YOU MUST CONTINUOUSLY PULL THE CAR OUT OF PARK AND BACK INTO PARK FOR THE CAR TO RECOGNIZE ITS ACTUALLY IN PARK.
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH BODY CONTROL MODULE AND THIS DAMAGING ALL MY VEHICLES SENSORS AS THE SENSORS ARE DAMAGED THE ACTUAL SYSTEM WHICH IS THE ENGINE AND THE MECHANICAL SYSTEM IS DAMAGED AND CAR WON'T START IT STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND THEN AFTER FEW TRIALS I SOME HOW STARTED IT AND THEN IT STALLS BUT THIS STALLING IS REALLY DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE BCM IS SENDING WRONG SIGNALS TO THE ACCELERATOR AND IT ACCELERATES EVEN I HAVE EASED THE GAS SO IF ANYTHING HAPPENS LATER OR NOW I WOULD BLAME DODGE FOR MAKING SUCH A WORST CAR AND ALSO THE NHTSA FOR GIVING DODGE THE PERMISSION.
WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A DEAD STOP IT HESITATES AND JERKS IF YOU GIVE IT TOO MUCH GAS EVERY TIME YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL OR SLOW TO A STOP SOMETHING POPPING IN THE FRONT END IF YOU TAKE OFF TOO FAST IT'LL BACKFIRE LITTLE POPS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ALWAYS COMING ON SAYING THAT WE HAVE MULTIPLE MISFIRES WHEN WE DON'T WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ON THE AUTOMATIC START DOESN'T WORK AND WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IS BLINKING
ALL INTERNAL LIGHTS AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS START FLICKERING THE TRUNK OPENS UP BY ITSELF THE CAR STARTS BY ITSELF SHUTS OFF WHEN RUNNING. AFTER DRIVING FOR UP TO 30 TO 30 MINUTES TO 1 HOUR THE CAR START GOING INTO THIS MODE WHERE IT WITH THE HORN WOULD BE THE DOORS WOULD JUST UNLOCK BY HIMSELF THE IF I'M PARKING MY CAR FOR THE NIGHT THE CAR I JUST START UP BY ITSELF WITHOUT THE KEY BEING IN THE CAR IF I'M DRIVING THE CAR A SHUT OFF IN MID DRIVE AND A PARKING AT THE RED LIGHT THESE ARE ALL THE ISSUES THAT I'M HAVING WITH THIS VEHICLE THE HORN THE ALARM COMES ON WITHOUT THE KEY IN IT.
CLUTCH GOING TO THE FLOOR
BUSHING ON THE SHIFT CABLE OF THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION COMES LOOSE. CAR CANNOT BE SHIFTED. THIS OCCURRED IN A PARKING LOT BUT COULD HAVE OCCURRED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. BASICALLY, THE CAR REMAINS STUCK IN ONE GEAR. NOTE THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM FOR THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION BUT NOT THE MANUAL. IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVED ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER AND RESTARTED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH IN LOCAL TRAFFIC WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ACTIVATED THE HAZARD LIGHTS WHILE RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
MY CLUTCH HAS WENT OUT FOR THE 3RD TIME SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR. IT APPEARS THAT EVERY 2 YEARS AFTER THE FIRST YEAR I HAVE TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH. IT ISN'T COVERED BECAUSE THEY SAY IT IS WEAR AND TEAR. WHEN I WENT ONLINE I FOUND THAT MANY MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS. THIS CAR WAS POORLY DESIGNED AND THE COMPANY REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. THE CLUTCH WAS APPARENTLY DESIGNED TO STAY ENGAGED WHICH WEARS IT OUT WITHOUT THE USER DOING ANYTHING. 2 TIMES IT HAS WENT OUT ON ME WHILE DRIVING ON THE CITY STREET ONCE WHILE TRYING TO TURN IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION WHICH IS DANGEROUS. THIS IS CRAZY AND I SHOULD PROBABLY BE FILED UNDER A CLASS ACTION LAW SUITE AGAINST CHRYSLER
USED MY TURN SIGNALS AND WIPERS CAME ON AND WOULD NOT STOP UNLESS ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF COST $739.00 TO REPAIR CAR, I BELIEVE THIS IS A RECALLABLE EVENT?THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER DODGE CUSTOMER.
THE ENGINE IS STALLING WHEN EVER THE CAR IS DRIVEN AND ALSO THE PCM IS UNABLE TO KEEP UP THE CHARGING.
THE BUSHING ON THE SHIFT CABLE KEEP BREAKING . THERE WAS A RECALL ON AUTOMATICS BUT NOT STANDARDS.
THE CAR SHUTS OFF. I WAS DRIVING AND THEN IT JUST WON'T GO ANYMORE. ITS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS! HAPPENED 5 TIMES IN THE SAME NIGHT
THE CAR STALLS... NORMALLY AFTER SLOWING DOWN & TURNING. TRANSMISSION INOPERABLE CODE ALONG WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. VERY DANGEROUS.
TL* THE CONTACT'S NEPHEW OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HER NEPHEW WAS DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO FOURTH GEAR. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE WITH THE PARKING BRAKES AND PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHILE INSPECTING UNDER THE HOOD, THE DRIVER NOTICED THE SHIFTIER CABLE WAS DETACHED FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE AND THEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER OURISMAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF BOWIE LOCATED AT 2406 CRAIN HWY, BOWIE, MD 20716, (855) 822-3228, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING SHIFTER CABLE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V293000 (POWER TRAIN), HOWEVER THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 159,619.
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILED. COMPLETELY BLACKED OUT. CAN'T SEE MILEAGE, GAS GAUGE, RPM INSIDE LIGHTS STAY ON. DOORS LOCK AND UNLOCK AS DRIVING.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR ON A BUSY ROAD MY MY CAR STARTED TO LOSS POWER, SO I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND IT WOULD'NT START BACK UP. THIS HAPPENDED IN JUNE 2020. I CALLED THE TOW TRUCK AFTER ABOUT A HOUR IN THE RAIN ONCE THE TOW TRUCK PULLS UP THE CAR FINALLY STARTS AND I GET THE CAR HOME. IT SHUTS OFF AGAIN ASSOON AS GET IN MY YARD. CHECKED THE FUSES, BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, ETC. REPLACED A 200AMP FUSE AT THE BATTERY CAR WORKED FINE FOR A FEW MONTHS. BAM THE CAR WILL NOT START ONCE AGAIN. ALL LIGHT ARE ON, BATTERY IS CHARGE FULLY THEDARN CARJUST WONT TURN ON. THIS IS A HARZARD COMPUTER CHECKS NOT ONE RECAL ON THIS ELECTICAL UNKNOW ISSUE, NOW I HAVE A RED BOX IN MY YARD THAT LOOKS PRETTY. MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ELECTRICAL ISSUE, BUT WHEN I CALLED DODGE THEY SAID THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE.
SHIFT CONNECTOR CABLE GAVE OUT IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WHILE IN MOTION. HAD TO REV A BIT HIGHER IN ORDER TO GET IT TO GAIN ANY MOMENTUM ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC. WAS LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF OTHER VEHICLES. THE AUTOMATIC VERSION OF 2013 DODGE DARTS WERE RECALLED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM BUT FOR WHATEVER UNEXPLAINED REASON THEY DID NOT INCLUDE STANDARDS(STICK SHIFTS) IN THE RECALL AS FAR AS I CAN FIND ANYWHERE. MY CAR IS IN SHOP NOW WHILE I'M WORKING FAR FROM HOME ETC. DEFINITELY SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
TOOK A 100 MILE TRIP, WHEN I GOT HOME AND PARKED THE CAR IN THE GARAGE I SMELLED A BURNT METALLIC/FIBER SMEALL. HALFWAY INTO MY TRIP I NOTICED THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER WAS HARD TO SHIFT. THE CAR IS A 2013 DODGE DART AERO WITH ALMOST ONLY 17,000 MILES ON. ALL SERVICE RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE. ALL RECALLS WERE DEALT WITH ALSO.
THE CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING AT BELOW HIGHWAY SPEEDS, EG CROSSING AN INTERSECTION IN SUBURBAN NEW JERSEY. THE ENGINE CUTS OUT, RANDOM MESSAGES ON THE INFORMATION CENTER APPEAR, AND THE DRIVE MUST COAST TO A STOP AND RESTART THE CAR. IT'S UNPREDICTABLE AND INTERMITTENT, WITH NO OBD CODE TO HELP DEALER DIAGNOSE OR REPLICATE. THE CAUSE IS PRESENTLY UNKNOWN DESPITE DEALER EFFORT.
TRANSMISSION THROWS IN NEUTRAL AND WON'T GO FORWARD
6 SPEED DODGE DART WENT INTO NEUTRAL AND STOPPED ACCELERATING WHILE BEING DRIVEN ON THE FREEWAY, CAR TURNS ON BUT WON'T MOVE FORWARD OR BACKWARDS WHEN ACCELERATED AND IN GEAR. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BUT THEN IT HAD TO BE TOWED TO MY RESIDENCE. I HAD A MECHANIC TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND THEY BELIEVE IT IS A TRANSMISSION MOTOR CONTROL PROBLEM THAT OTHER 2013 DODGE DARTS HAVE ALSO ENCOUNTERED.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED COMING ON WHEN A PASSENGER SAT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF. WHEN DRIVING, THE AIRBAG LIGHT BEGAN COMING ON WHEN DRIVING WITH NO PASSENGER AND THEN STAYED ON. IN ADDITION, THE SEATBELT LIGHT WOULD BEEP EVEN WHEN THE PASSENGER BELT WAS PLUGGED IN. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO DODGE FOR SERVICE AND WAS INFORMED THE SEATBELT COULD NOT BE FIXED BECAUSE THE PART NEEDED WAS DISCONTINUED. THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A PROBLEM WITH THE WIRE HARNESSES. THE DAY AFTER GETTING MY CAR BACK FROM BEING REPAIRED, THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS BACK ON. IT CAME ON ONCE I STARTED THE CAR. IT NOW COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES DOES NOT GO OFF UNTIL THE CAR IS OFF.
THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL ON IT'S OWN, FOR US IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN WE STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THEN IT'S DISPLAYED TO SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND THEN TO DRIVE OR REVERSE, THIS MAY HAVE TO BE PERFORMED TWO OR THREE TIMES BEFORE THE CAR MOVE, THEN WE ONLY HAVE THE EVEN OR THE ODD GEARS DEPENDING ON WITCH CLUTCH ACTIVATES. THIS HAPPENED ON A FOUR LANE SUBURBAN ROAD WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 50 MPH AND WILL HAPPEN WHEN THE TRANSMISSION GETS TO FULL TEMPERATURE. THIS VEHICLE HAD THE RECALL 15V-542 PERFORMED 08/25/15. AFTER SEVERAL TCM FAILURES ABUSING THE TRANSMISSION PRIOR TO THE RECALL, THE TRANSMISSION NOW NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL ISSUE FIRST HAPPENED JULY OF 2014.
MY CAR IS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE SHIFTER. IT WON'T GO INTO PARK OR DRIVE PROPERLY IT ALSO LOCKS MY KEY FOB UP WHEN IT DOESN'T READ PARK. IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME BUT 90% OF THE TIME IT DOES. I TOOK IT TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND PAID TO HAVE THEM DIAGNOSE WHAT WAS WRONG. THEY CLAIMED THEY COULDN'T FIND THE ISSUE SO THEY KEPT IT OVERNIGHT TO TEAR IT APART . THE NEXT DAY THEY CALLED AND SAID THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY WASN'T FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. I HAD THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY REPLACED ON MY OWN BECAUSE DODGE WANTED A OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT AND GO FIGURE IT WASN'T THE ISSUE BECAUSE MY CAR IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING. IT'S UNACCEPTABLE THAT THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE I'VE READ HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. IT'S DANGEROUS WHEN YOU CAN'T GET YOUR CAR TO GO INTO PARK AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO END UP SERIOUSLY HURT. ON A SIDE NOTE THEY DID HAVE A RECALL ON THE SHIFTER BUSHING WHICH I DID HAVE REPLACED AND IT DIDN'T HELP THE ISSUE EITHER. IN ORDER TO GET MY CAR TO GO INTO DRIVE I HAVE TO HIT THE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE PIN UNDER THE SHIFTER ANYTIME IT JAMS UP ON ME. SOMETHING NEEDS DONE ABOUT THIS BECAUSE FROM WHAT I'VE READ IT'S A VERY COMMON ISSUE IN DODGE DARTS AND BY NO MEANS IS THIS OK FOR PEOPLE TO HAVE TO MAKE CAR PAYMENTS TO HAVE CARS THAT THEY DON'T FEEL SAFE IN.
RECALL R42 WAS COMPLETED ON MAY 7 2018, AS OF TODAY THE VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE ORIGINAL SAFETY RECALL BOTH THE DEALER AND FCA SAID THAT THE 2 YEAR WARRANTY ON THE TCM HAS EXPIRED BY 2 MONTHS. APPARENTLY THE SAFETY RECALL HAS NOT BEEN FIXED AND THE ISSUE CONTINUES. THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR A NEW TCM. I FEEL THAT THE FIX THEY DID ORIGINALLY WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM AND DODGE SHOULD ADDRESS THIS ISSUE BY TAKING CARE OF THE SAME PROBLEM.
I OWN A 2013 DODGE DART AND THE SHIFTER CABLE THAT WAS RECALLED IN MAY OF 2013 HAS FAILED AGAIN AND I CAN NOT TURN MY KEY ALL THE WAY TO THE OFF POSITION THEREFORE EITHER HAVE TO LEAVE MY CAR RUNNING OR TURN IT WHERE IT SHUTS OFF THE ENGINE BUT DOESNT SHUT EVERYTHING ELSE OFF AND DOORS CAN NOT BE LOCKED. THE GEAR SHIFT CAN BE MOVED BACK AND FORTH WITHOUT IT BEING STARTED OR EVEN HAVING TO PUSH IN THE BRAKE PEDAL WHICH IS HAZARDOUS. I TOOK THE BATTERY CABLES OFF SO IT WOULD NOT KILL MY BATTERY LEAVING EVERYTHING ON AND I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT SOME LITTLE NEIGHBORHOOD KID DOESNT GET IN MY CAR BECAUSE IF THE GEAR KNOB IS ACCIDENTALLY PUSHED IT CAN ROLL AWAY. I HAVE REPEATEDLY REPORTED THIS PROBLEM AND I CAN ONLY GUESS THAT BECAUSE THEIR HAD BEEN NO ACCIDENTS OR INJURY REPORTED THEY WILL NOT INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM. I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT A LIFE ISNT THE COST OF THEIR SELFISHNESS TO LOOSING MONEY FOR DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THESE CARS.
STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND AND SERVICE POWER STEERING CAN ONLY MOVE FORWARD AND BACKWARDS WHEELS WON'T TURN
TRANSMISSION FAILED AFTER 56,000 MILES. PRIOR TRANSMISSION RELATED RECALL WAS PERFORMED. THIS TIME IT APPEARS THAT SOMETHING BROKE INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION RENDERING IT UNABLE TO SHIFT. BASED ON THE VOLUME OF COMPLAINTS IN VARIOUS DODGE DART FORUMS, THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM, NOT UNIQUE TO MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE. I WAS FORTUNATE TO BE IN A PLACE WHERE I COULD PULL OVER AND HAVE THE CAR TOWED. HAD I BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC, IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE DART. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER WITH THE RPM REVVED UP TO 6,000 RPM WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT INTO GEAR AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER / PARKING BRAKE IS CORRODING TO THE POINT OF INOPERABILITY. WE HAVE ALREADY HAD CHRYSLER REPLACE THE REAR CALIPER THAT WAS AFFECTED THE FIRST TIME, BUT IT IS NOW AGAIN STICKING DUE TO CORROSION AND RUST. THERE IS NO PROTECTION TO PREVENT SALT AND ROAD DEBRIS FROM ENTERING THE BORE OF THE SHAFT THAT ENGAGES THE PARKING BRAKE MECHANISM IN THE CALIPER. THE CAR'S PARKING BRAKE LEVER WILL ENGAGE BUT THE PARKING BRAKE WILL ACTIVATE. THE CAR WILL CONTINUE TO ROLL BACK (MANUAL TRANSMISSION). OTHER TIMES, THE PARKING BRAKE WILL BE ACTIVATED BY THE LEVER, ENGAGE AND WILL STICK ON, AND CAUSE THE REAR BRAKES TO OVERHEAT WHEN I DRIVE AWAY.

THE REAR BRAKES ARE LOCKED UP AND WONT RELEASE. THE FIRST TIME THE CALIPERS HAD TO BE CHANGED OUT. THIS HAPPENED WITH IN THE FIRST 3 YEARS. THIS MOST RECENT TIME THEY LOCKED UP AGAIN I HAVE NOT YET TAKEN IT IN TO THE SHOP YET BUT IT FEELS LIKE THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT HAS ONLY BEEN 3 YEARS OR SO SINCE THEY WERE LAST CHANGED. THE CAR ONLY HAS ABOUT 40 THOUSAND MILES ON IT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM. THIS COULD CAUSE THE BRAKES TO CATCH ON FIRE OR EVEN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY MOVES TO NEUTRAL AND THE GEARS DO NOT WORK. I TOOK THE CAR FOR A RECALL ON CABLE BUSHING ON THE TRANSMISSION AND I CAN DRIVE THE CAR FOR A BIT BUT WILL FALL IN NEUTRAL BY ITSELF HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE FOR THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE CAR.
I WAS DRIVING AND I NOTICED THAT THE CAR LOOSE POWER AND GEARS INDICATORS WE'RE ALL IN RED. P,R,N,D WE'RE IN RED. I HAVE TO STOP IN A SAFETY PLACE. FIRST I TRIED STARTING AND MOVING THE GEAR SHIFT AROUND, THEN I HAVE TO TURN OFF AND ON THE CAR AND BACK TO NORMAL AGAIN. I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN MY CAR ALONE OR WITH MY FAMILY ON IT . CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. DEALERSHIP COULDN'T FIND CODE OR ANYTHING WRONG AND ALLOWED ME TO LEAVE WITH THE VEHICLE. GOT THE CAR HOME, WENT TO SHOW MY HUSBAND AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. APPARENTLY NOT INVOLVED WITH RECALL, YET I DON'T SEE HOW. SAYS SOMETHING IN TRANSMISSION SLEEVE NEEDS FIXED AND I AM LIABLE. I BEGGED THEM TO KEEP THIS CAR BC THE TRANSMISSION WAS ACTING UP, NOW HERE I AM BEING TOLD I OWE FOR AN ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WHEN I TRIED TO HAVE IT FIXED FIRST. VIN ISN'T LISTED UNDER ANY CURRENT RECALLS, YET A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH WILL SHOW QUICKLY THAT THE 6 SPEED TRANS ARE NOTHING BUT RECALL ISSUES REPEATEDLY, UNTIL IT ACTUALLY DIES.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

I WAS IN STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT AT THE MALL AND MY CAR MOVED EVEN THOUGH IT WAS IN PARK. I IMMEDIATELY TRIED TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND IT WAS HARD TO MOVE IT INTO DRIVE. ONCE I DID I DROVE IT AROUND A LITTLE BIT THINKING MAYBE SOMETHING WAS STUCK SO THEN I PUT IN PARK AND SHUT THE CAR OFF AND IT WAS FINE. IT HAS DONE THIS ON A FEW OCCASIONS TO ME. I CALLED THE PLACE I GOT MY CAR AND THEY TOLD ME THEY DIDNT KNOW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. FAST TRACK A FEW WEEKS LATER I GOT THE SAFETY RECALL IN FOR THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE BRUSHING V34 THAT WAS FROM APRIL 2019 WHEN IT WAS MAY 2020. PLUS ON THE ONE RECALL PAPER I GOT IT ALSO SAYS I HAVE ANOTHER RECALL (V50) THAT WAS FROM LAST YEAR THAT I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF. IT EXPLAINS THE SAME THING I WENT THROUGH COULD HAPPEN. I CALLED THE PLACE I GOT MY CAR AND THEY ONCE AGAIN TOLD ME THEY HAD NO IDEA. I CALLED A DODGE DEALERSHIP BUT TOLD ME DUE TO COVID THEY COULDNT FIX MY RECALL RIGHT NOW. I CALLED THE PLACE I GOT MY CAR AGAIN AND I ASKED ABOUT A RENTAL UNTIL I COULD GET THIS FIXED. THEY TOLD ME THEY CAN BUT I'D HAVE TO CONTINUE PAYING FOR MY DODGE DART THAT HAS A MAJOR RECALL ON IT PLUS THE RENTAL AND THE INSURANCE. SO I'VE BEEN DRIVING MY DART AROUND AND EVERY NOW AND THEN IT'LL DO IT BUT THE DEALERSHIPS KEEP TELLING ME THE SAME THING. I'M PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT SCARES ME TO DRIVE WITH A MAJOR RECALL THAT NOBODY CAN APPARENTLY FIX. I'M READY TO LEAVE IT AT THE LOT.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,000.

CHECK TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME IN WHILE DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY. . TRANSMISSION SHIFT STOPPED WORKING. PULLED CAR TO THE SHOULDER IMMEDIATELY AND TURNED CAR OFF.
MY SHIFTER CABLE IS MALFUNCTIONING AND I SEE IT WAS RECALLED LAST YEAR, BUT I NEVER RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION ON THIS. THIS IS AN ON-GOING ISSUE THAT IS GETTING WORSE. WHEN I PUT INTO PARK, I HAVE TO KEEP TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON, BECAUSE IT IS NOT IN PARK AND I CANNOT SHUT THE CAR OFF.
