MY TURN SIGNALS ON MY 2000 DODGE DURANGO RECENTLY STOPPED WORKING. THEY EITHER FLASH ONCE OR DON'T FLASH AT ALL. I HAVE CHANGED THE BULBS AND THE FUSES AND NEITHER ACTION HELPED WITH THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 DODGE DURANGO . HE STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 75 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED, THE STEERING , LIGHTS AND BRAKES WERE INOPERABLE. HE THEN PUSHED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. HE WAITED AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT OPERATED NORMALLY. AFTER 2 HOURS THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN . THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PCM OVERHEATED WHICH CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO SHUT DOWN.THIS HAD OCCURRED 20 ADDITIONAL TIMES. THERE HAVE BEEN NO REPAIRS MADE TO THE VEHILCE . THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 121972.
I HAVE A 2000 DODGE DURANGO WITH 65,000 WELL KEPT MILES. ON OCT 7, I WAS INVOLVED IN A PILEUP ON INTERSTATE 24 IN MURFREESBORO, TN. THERE WERE 6 CARS, AND I WAS NUMBER 3. THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO VANDERBILT HOSPITAL, WHERE I WAS DIAGNOSES WITH A BROKEN STERNUM. *TR
PCM ON DODGE DURANGO'S KEEP GOING BAD CAUSING THE TRUCK TO GO DEAD WITH OUT WARNING. I HAVE HAD A NEW ONE PUT ON MY DODGE AND IT WENT BAD TOO. *TR
FOR THE PAST 8 MONTHS MY 2000 DODGE DURANGO WILL JUST SHUT OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING. I HAVE REPLACED THE JUMP START, THE COIL, BELTS, AIR CONDITION, PULLEYS, SPARK PLUGS. IT HAS HAD A COMPLETE TUNE UP AND BEEN TO THE MECHANIC AT LEAST 5 TIMES. NOTHING SHOWS UP ON THE CODES, IT WILL ONLY SHOW THE WORD NOBUS IN THE ODOMETER AND IT TAKES FROM 10 MINUTES TO ONE HOUR BEFORE IT WILL RESTART. THIS HAS BECOME VERY DANGEROUS AS THERE IS NO ADVANCE WARNING. YOU LOSE ALL POWER AND IT JUST STOPS RUNNING. *TR
STEERING WAS SWAYING TO LEFT & RIGHT. VARY BAD VIBRATION ON FRONT END. OCCURRED ALL THE TIME. STEERING COLUMN COULD HAVE BROKE IN HALF. HAD STEERING COLUMN REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH & SOMETHING DONE FOR THE POWER STEERING. *TR
VEHICLES HAS BEEN MAKING FRONT NOISE OF AXEL IS ABOUT TO COME OFF - SOMETIME IN THE SUMMER I HAD THE BEARING REPLACED AS THEY HAD CRACKED THEN THE NOISE IN FRONT OF VEHICLE SUSPENSION STARTED AGAIN. I THINK THAT THIS MAY BE A RECALL PROBLEM. *TR
DRIVER SIDE SEAT WHEN STOPPING WILL SLIDE FORWARD AND JOLT. CAUSING DRIVER TO HIT BRAKES HARD AND THEN RELEASE. HAVE NOT REPLACED ANY PARTS YET BUT WHEN I DO REPLACE I WILL SAVE OLD PART. *TR
WHILE DRIVING IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE I REVERSED HEARD A CLUNK. THOUGHT I HIT SOMETHING SAW NOTHING THAT I COULD HAVE HIT. PUT IT INTO DRIVE AND DROVE FOR A FEW MINUTES HAD TO BACK UP AGAIN AND FOUND I HAD NO REVERSE. I WAS ABLE TO GET WHERE I NEEDED BUT FOUND THAT THE FORWARD GEARS WERE NOW NOT COOPERATING. CALLED TRANSMISSION SHOPS AND EVERY ONE OF THEM STATED THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR DODGE TRANSMISSIONS ESPECIALLY THOSE IN THE DURANGO. IT IS A 2000 DODGE DURANGO WITH ABOUT 150000. I BELIEVE IF A TOYOTA OR AN OLDER DODGE CALL LAST MORE THAN 250000 THEN THESE NEWER WAS SHOULD LAST LONGER WITH OUR SUPPOSED BETTER TECHNOLOGY. *TR
I OWN A 2000 DODGE DURANGO, AND IT OFTEN WILL JUST SHUT DOWN WHILE I'M DRIVING. I HAVE OWNED IT SINCE OCTOBER 2008, AND THIS HAS HAPPENED 12 OR 13 TIMES. I RECEIVE A "NO BUS" SIGNAL ON MY ODOMETER DISPLAY. I HAVE REPLACED BATTERY TERMINALS, AND A BATTERY. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN FAR MORE OFTEN IN HOT WEATHER. 2000 DODGE DURANGO DOOR LOCKS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCK WILL NOT RESPOND TO THE COMMANDS. I HAVE READ ABOUT NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE DOOR LOCKS AND IT CONCERNS ME IF WE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT IF THE DOORS WILL STAY SHUT, OR WORSE UNABLE FOR ANYONE TO ACCESS THAT DOOR. IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM IN ALL YEARS OF CARS. I UNDERSTAND IT IS A PLASTIC WHEEL POORLY DESIGNED. I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH 2 DOOR LOCKS AND THE REAR HATCH. CURRENTLY, WE ARE FACED WITH AN ELECTRICAL DRAIN ON THE BATTERY. IT IS A NEW BATTERY AND STILL WILL NOT START. I HAVE MY SUSPICIONS THAT THESE DOOR LOCKS MAY HAVE A BEARING. PLEASE LOOK INTO THE MATTER AS IT IS A DEFINITE FLAW AND A SAFETY HAZARD. THE REAR HATCH HAS NOT WORKED IN ABOUT 3 YEARS AND THE PASSENGER REAR ABOUT 2 YEARS AND THE DRIVERS DOOR MAKES NOISES ABOUT 3 YEARS. *TR
I'VE HELD CONFIDENCE IN MY 2000 DODGE DURANGO SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN 2003. IN THE SUMMER OF 2009, I WAS DRIVING DOWN A LOCAL ROAD WHEN SUDDENLY THE GAUGES ON THE DASH BOARD WERE NOT REGISTERING, THE ODOMETER READ BUS AND THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. SINCE THIS OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING, I DID NOT HAVE TIME TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TURNED ON THE CAUTION BLINKERS. THERE WERE MANY CARS BLOWING THEIR HORNS, WAITING BEHIND ME ON THIS ONE LANE ROAD. AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES THE ENGINE STARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. I THOUGHT THIS WAS A ONE TIME ONLY OCCURRENCE. I HAD NO PRIOR PROBLEMS WITH THE TRUCK. A FEW DAYS LATER, I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND THE TRUCK SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AGAIN. OMG, I WAS NERVOUS, SCARED AND REALLY BELIEVED THAT I WAS GOING TO DIE BECAUSE SOMEONE WOULD RAM THEIR VEHICLE INTO MINE. WHAT DRIVER WOULD SUSPECT THAT MY TRUCK SUDDENLY DIED WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT? I THOUGHT ABOUT HOW I WAS GOING TO GET THIS VEHICLE SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT ENDANGERING MY LIFE AND THE LIFE OF OTHER DRIVERS. LUCKILY I DID IT. MY HUSBAND TINKERED WITH THE COMPUTER AND NOTICED THAT WHEN HE REPOSITION THE COMPUTER THE ENGINE WOULD START AGAIN. BUT I REFUSE TO DRIVE IT UNTIL WE PURCHASE ANOTHER COMPUTER. THE CAR REPAIRMAN SAID, EVEN IF WE PURCHASED ANOTHER COMPUTER HE COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHUT COMPLETELY DOWN. THE COMPUTER IS OVERHEATING DUE TO THE LOCATION THAT THE MANUFACTURERS HAVE CHOSEN. I WILL GET SOMEONE TO DESIGN SOME SORT OF HEAT SHIELD OR SOMETHING TO PREVENT THE COMPUTER FROM OVERHEATING. TO REPLACE MY CURRENT COMPUTER WILL COST $1100. I THINK THE CAR COMPANY SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS FLAW AND RECALL THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT WANT SOMEONE TO GET KILLED DUE TO THEIR GROSS NEGLIGENCE. I AM NOT THE ONLY DODGE DURANGO OWNER WHO IS HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE AND GET SOMETHING DONE. I HAVE A 2000 DODGE DURANGO 5.9L V8. WHEN IT IS HOT OUTSIDE (OVER 90*), THE SUV WILL SHUT OFF. I LIVE IN FLORIDA WHERE IT'S HOT ALMOST ALL YEAR. DRIVING ON CITY ROADS THROUGH TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND SUDDENLY HAD NO BRAKES. BRAKE PEDAL WAS ON THE FLOOR. NARROWLY AVOIDED CRASHING BY SWERVING INTO FREE TURN LANE AND TURNING. APPLIED PARKING BRAKE TO COME TO A STOP. DODGE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT VEHICLE AND REPORTED THAT THE RETAINING CLIP FOR BRAKE PEDAL TO BOOSTER WAS MISSING. THEY REPLACED THE CLIP TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THERE IS NO OLD PART SINCE IT WAS MISSING COMPLETELY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN DRIVING ROUGHLY AND SMOKE APPEARED UNDER THE HOOD. THE BRAKES STIFFENED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT EASED OFF THE BRAKES, BUT THEY FAILED COMPLETELY. MORE SMOKE APPEARED UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER, BUT LOST CONTROL. SHE HEARD TWO SNAPPING NOISES UNDER THE HOOD. SHE APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, WHICH STOPPED THE VEHICLE. THE PASSENGER OPENED THE HOOD AND NOTICED FLAMES IN THE ENGINE. THEY CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND A REPORT WAS FILED. THE ENGINE FIRE SPREAD TO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE VEHICLE. A FEW MINUTES LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. PRIOR TO THE FIRE, REPAIRS HAD BEEN MADE TO THE ENGINE BECAUSE IT WOULD STALL AND OVERHEAT. THE CONTACT BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE THE DAY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER OF 2008. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 124,000.
DRIVING ALONG ON THE WAY TO SEE MY FATHER IN THE HOSPITAL AND THE CHECK GAUGE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE OIL PRESSURE WENT TO 0 AND THEN BACK UP AND THEN BACK TO 0, AND THEN ENGINE SEIZED UP. NOW WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE, CHRYSLER SHOULD PONY UP FOR ALL THESE VEHICLES WHEN THEY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM. I WILL DEFINITELY BE KEEPING RECEIPTS FOR THIS JUST IN CASE. *TR
DRIVERS SEAT SLIDES BACK AND FORTH ABOUT 1/2 INCH WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES. DEALER SAYS ENTIRE SEAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. STARTED SPONTANEOUSLY (CAR IN NO ACCIDENTS AND NOT USED OFF ROAD). *TR
OUR DOOR LOCK SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. IT STARTED WITH A LOUD NOISE WHEN WE HIT THE UNLOCK BUTTON. NOW, WHEN YOU HIT THE UNLOCK FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR, BOTH PASSENGER DOORS WILL NOT UNLOCK AND HAVE TO BE DONE SO MANUALLY. IF YOU USE THE KEY ON THE PASSENGER DOOR, IT WILL UNLOCK ALL OF THE DOORS. NOW THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LOCK DOES NOT LOCK WHEN HITTING DOOR LOCK, BUT CAR ALARM IS STILL ACTIVATED. *TR
DRIVING THE CAR THE ENGINE BEGAN TO KNOCK AND THE CAR STOPPED ON THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THIS INVOLVES LOUD ENGINE KNOCKING. *TR

2000 DURANGO 2-WHEEL DRIVE. BRAKES LOCK UP AND TAIL SLIDES AROUND. IT IS AS IF THE REAR END IS BOUNCING WHEN BRAKING (BACK END TOO LIGHT). EVEN WORSE WHEN ROAD WET. VERY DANGEROUS. WHY DOES IT DO THIS??? NO ACCIDENT. AM VERY CAREFUL AND DON'T LET PEOPLE DRIVE IT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE STEERING COLUMN MOVED LEFT AND RIGHT AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE IMMEDIATELY. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE STEERING COLUMN AND NOTICED THAT THE PIN THAT HOLDS THE UPPER UNIVERSAL JOINT AND STEERING FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THE MECHANIC COULD NOT FIND ANY FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 150,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS OVER HILLS OR BUMPS, THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE BALL JOINTS WERE SEVERELY CORRODED. THE CONTACT CALLED AN AUTHORIZED DEALER IN REFERENCE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 04V596000 (SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:UPPER BALL JOINT) AND WAS INFORMED THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 90,000.
ECU COMPUTER DIES AFTER HEAT SOAKED. ENGINE JUST DIES AND WE LOSE STEERING AND BRAKES IN A FEW SECONDS DUE TO THE LOSS OF ENGINE OPERATION. NO ADVANCE WARNING, JUST A WARNING ON THE ODOMETER "NO BUS" - ALL INSTRUMENTS ARE DEAD. *TR
FOR 2000 DODGE DURANGO SLT PLUS. WIRE FOR HEADLIGHT DIMMER IN STEERING CONSOLE IS TOO SHORT WHICH LEADS TO THE WIRE PULLING OUT OF THE CONNECTOR IN THE CONSOLE. AFTER THE WIRE PULLS OUT THE HEADLIGHTS NO LONGER OPERATE. TO CORRECT THE FAILURE THE WIRE MUST BE SPLICED AND INCREASED IN LENGTH BY APPROXIMATELY 1/4 INCH. *TR

ENGINE MADE RATTLING NOISE. ENGINE FAILED, ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO ENGINE SLUDGE AFTER PROPER OIL CHANGES. *TR
V8-287 4.7L DURANGO STALLS WITHOUT WARNING. DOESN'T MATTER IF I AM ON THE FREEWAY OR IN CITY TRAFFIC. NOTHING SPECIFIC THAT I CAN RELATE TO THE CAUSE. IMMEDIATELY LOSE POWER STEERING. ELECTRICAL SEEMS TO CONTINUE WORKING. CAR WILL START BACK UP FINE AFTER 5 TO 15 MINUTES OF SITTING. HAPPENS IN HOT AND COLD WEATHER, DAY OR NIGHT. CAN GO FOR WEEKS WITHOUT STALLING AND THEN STALL SEVERAL TIMES IN A FEW DAYS. YELLOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, WHICH THE MANUAL TELLS ME IS NOT AN IMMEDIATE ISSUE. I HAD A 2000 DODGE DURANGO AND AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES I TURNED ON THE AIR AND A SULFUR LIKE SMELL CAME THROUGH THE AIR SYSTEM. AFTER PULLING OVER AND CUTTING THE CAR OFF, FLAMES CAME FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE CAR BURST INTO FLAMES AND BURNED COMPLETELY UP. NOTHING WAS LEFT BUT THE METAL FRAME. MY INSURANCE COMPANY COULDN'T GIVE ME ANY INSIGHT AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENED. I HAD ABOUT 133,000 MILES ON IT. I WISH I KNEW ABOUT THIS SITE BEFORE I LOST MY VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE OWNED MANY VEHICLES AND NEVER HAVE HAD SO MANY FRONT END ISSUES ON ONE VEHICLE THAN THIS ONE. I WAS WONDERING IF THERE HAS BEEN ANY RECALLS ON THE 2 WHEEL DRIVE DODGE DURANGO, REAR WHEEL DRIVE. 5.2L ENGINE THIS VEHICLE DID HAVE A RECALL ISSUED ON THE RACK AND PINION STEERING. *TR

THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT BECAUSE HER VEHICLE WAS 2 WHEEL DRIVE, HER VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. SHE IS IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNABLE TO ASSIST. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 120,882.
THE CRUISE CONTROL AND HORN QUIT WORKING. I WAS CHECKING THE INTERNET TO SEE WHAT COULD BE WRONG WITH IT. I FOUND THE RECALL FOR REPLACING THE CLOCKSPRING IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THIS COULD CAUSE MY PROBLEMS PLUS CAUSE MY AIR BAG TO NOT DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD MY # (*)WAS NOT INCLUDED AND TO CALL CHRYSLER, WHICH I DID. I WAS TOLD THE SAME THING AND THAT I SHOULD TAKE IT TO BE FIXED AND THEN IF IT WERE ADDED TO THE RECALL I WOULD BE REIMBURSED. I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS REPAIR AND I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY FOR IT. WHAT HAPPENS IF I'M IN AN ACCIDENT LIKE THE ONES I'VE READ IN SOME OF THESE OTHER COMPLAINTS AND MY AIR BAG DOES NOT DEPLOY. IS IT JUST SOL OR CAN I SUE CHRYSLER? THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. HE BELIEVES THAT IF THE VEHICLE FLIPPED OVER, THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 78,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSMISSION MADE A SUDDEN SHIFT PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT AND WHEN EVALUATED BY THE MECHANIC THE ONLY ERROR CODE ADMITTED WAS THAT OF THE TRANSMISSION. THE WINDSHIELD SHATTERED AND THE DRIVER SIDE FRONTAL AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD. GEORGIA POLICE REPORT NUMBER 081101015 WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WILL BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 95,000.
2000 DODGE DURANGO. THE DRIVERS SIDE BACK DOOR LOCK MOTOR BROKE. THE VEHICLE HAD APPROX. 57,000 MILES ON IT. AT 60,000 MILES THE FRONT DOOR WILL NOT LOCK AT ALL. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM. CAN'T LEAVE ANYTHING IN THE VEHICLE. IT COULD GET STOLEN AND WORST OF ALL I COULD GET CAR JACKED BECAUSE THE DOOR WON'T LOCK. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH DURANGOS. THERE ARE COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. AND THAT IS ONLY PEOPLE WHO TAKE THE TIME TO COMPLAIN. I ALSO HAVE A DODGE CONVERSION VAN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. 2000 DODGE DURANGO, WHEN MY CAR HAD 70,000 MILES ON IT, THERE WAS A RECALL OF THE BALL JOINTS. MY DURANGO NOW HAS 100,000+ MILES AND IT IS MAKING THE SAME POPPING NOISE IN THE FRONT END. MY MECHANIC SAYS THAT IT NEEDS NEW BALL JOINTS AGAIN. I FEEL DODGE REPLACED THE BALL JOINTS WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE PARTS AS THE ORIGINAL PARTS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN I CONTACTED DODGE I WAS TOLD VIA E-MAIL THAT WARRANTY WAS ONLY UNTIL 10 YEARS OR 100,000 MILES. THEY DID NOT COUNT ON OWNERS KEEPING THIS VEHICLE. SHE NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS WEARING FASTER THAN NORMAL AND HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE. BETWEEN SEPTEMBER OF 2007 AND AUGUST OF 2008, THE NOISE INTENSIFIED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BALL JOINT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 04V596000 (SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:UPPER BALL JOINT). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW. I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO DRIVES IT AND I HAVE USED SYNTHETIC OIL THE ENTIRE TIME. I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN CARE OF IT. I WAS ON THE OFF RAMP OF I-85 WHEN IT JUST STOPPED. IT WAS SMOKING AND THEN THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE IT WAS IN A DANGEROUS PLACE ON THE OFF RAMP AND OIL WAS SPILLING OUT OF THE BOTTOM. WE HAD TO GET THE CAR TOWED. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT IT HAD TWO CRACKED HEADS. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THIS HAPPENED I WOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I AM EXTREMELY UPSET ABOUT THIS AND I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER AND REGISTERED A COMPLAINT BECAUSE I HAVE FOUND OUT ABOUT ALL THE SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE 2.7 LITER ENGINE. CHRYSLER SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS ENGINE OR THEY WOULD HAVE ISSUED A RECALL. EVERY PARTS PERSON, MECHANIC, DEALERSHIP, ETC. THAT I HAVE TALKED TO HAVE MENTIONED THE PROBLEMS WITH THIS ENGINE. IT SEEMS AS IF EVERYONE KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM BUT CHRYSLER. THEY ASKED IF I HAD ALL THE RECORDS FROM EVERY TIME THAT I HAVE EVER HAD THE OIL CHANGED. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING I WOULD THINK ABOUT KEEPING. I DON'T THINK THEY WOULD HAVE DONE ANYTHING EVEN IF I HAD THE RECORDS. THEY JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROOF. THIS IS GOING TO BE VERY COSTLY TO GET FIXED AND IF I PUT THE SAME KIND OF ENGINE IN, I AM LOOKING AT THE SAME PROBLEMS. IT SEEMS AT THIS POINT THAT I MAY HAVE TO JUST TRASH THE CAR AND LOSE WHATEVER WORTH IT HAD LEFT IN IT. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER DODGE CAR BECAUSE CHRYSLER DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR MISTAKES. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE THIS SITUATION IN DEPTH. A LOT OF INNOCENT PEOPLE ARE BEING PUT IN AN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT FINANCIAL POSITION BECAUSE OF CHRYSLER.
