TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V391000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS) AND STATED THAT THE PART NEEDED WAS UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
SAME AS NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V530000, MY VEHICLE HAD THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS: WILL NOT START, START THEN STALLS, FUEL PUMP CONTINUED TO RUN. LUCKILY I WAS AT HOME WHEN IT HAPPENED. FINALLY GOT IT TO DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE FUEL PUMP RELAY PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL SINCE IT IS 2012 BUT HAS THE SAME RELAY AND TIPM AS 2011. I ELECTED TO HAVE THE REPAIR DONE AT THE COST OF $530 INSTEAD OF THE TIPM REPLACEMENT AT $1400. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS FURTHER AS THERE IS ALREADY A RECALL ON THIS SAME PROBLEM IN THE 2011 DURANGO. *TR
I INITIALLY BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO BE SERVICED ON 11/4/14 FOR FAILURE TO START & STALLING WHILE IN PARK OR REVERSE. I TALKED WITH AN ATTENDANT WHO SAID THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS & IT WOULD BE $300+ TO INVESTIGATE, I OPTED FOR A LOWER COST OPTION, A REPLACEMENT START BUTTON ($20). I SUSPECT NOW, SINCE THEY WERE BUSY & I WAS INQUIRING ABOUT OTHER RECALL FIXES (COST TO THEM) THIS WAS A WAY TO GET ME OUT OF THE SHOP QUICKLY. SKIP FORWARD A FEW WEEKS, THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. FROM 12/2/14-1/9/14, I LEFT MULTIPLE MESSAGES FOR SERVICE TO SCHEDULE AN APPT. MY MESSAGES WERE NEVER RETURNED. THE PROBLEM GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE, & BY CHRISTMAS THE CAR FAILED TO START ALL TOGETHER. TO CONTINUE WITH OUR FAMILY PLANS FOR VACATION, WE HAD TO RENT A CAR ($480); THERE WERE ALSO A FEW DAYS JUST AFTER THE NEW YEAR WHERE A RENTAL WAS REQUIRED SO WE COULD FUNCTION ($280). I FINALLY RESORTED TO SIMPLY HAVING THE CAR TOWED ($100) TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS ON 1/10/14 IN HOPES I COULD FINALLY GET A RETURN CALL. IT STILL TOOK 2 MORE DAYS (1/12/15) BEFORE SOMEONE RESPONDED. THIS TIME, I WAS QUOTED A PRICE OF ONLY $114 TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. I SPOKE TO THE SERVICE LEAD ON 1/14/15 WHO GAVE A DIAGNOSIS OF TIPM AND STARTER REPLACEMENT, PLUS 3 HRS LABOR COST (APPROX $1550). I MENTIONED THE RECALL ON THE TIPM, BUT WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE PRODUCED IN NOV 2011 FELL JUST OUTSIDE THE JUL 2011 WINDOW. I POINTED OUT IT WAS CLEARLY THE SAME ISSUE, BUT WAS ADVISED MY BEST ROUTE WAS TO DEAL WITH CORPORATE. I CONTACTED THE CORPORATE OFFICE ON 1/15/15 WITH NO SUCCESS AT GETTING CHRYSLER TO DO THE RIGHT THING FOR THEIR LONGTIME, REPEAT CUSTOMER (THIS IS MY 5TH AND LAST CHRYSLER). AFTER 2+ GRUELING MTHS & NEARLY $2500 LATER, I FINALLY HAVE A CAR THAT STARTS ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT...HOPEFULLY (NO GUARANTEES, RIGHT). I HAVE YET TO HEAR BACK FROM A SUPERVISOR AT CORPORATE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE ENGINE FAILED TO RESTART AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED THE SAME DAY THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. AN ADDITIONAL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR CONNECTOR. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
PULLING OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY ACCELERATED THE CAR DIED.PUSHED IT BACK INTO THE DRIVEWAY WHERE IT NOW SITS .CANNOT LET MY WIFE DRIVE A CAR THAT I GOT FOR HER AS A PRESENT. IT DOES START BUT I FOUND OUT THAT THE FUEL RELAY ON THIS CAR IS SUBJECT TO FAILURE. CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE HAS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE TIPM (FUSE BOX ) BECAUSE ALL THE RELAYS ARE MADE BY THE SAME COMPANY, OMRON. IN MY 2012 DODGE DURANGO IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE WHICH IS AFFECTING THE WAY THE ENGINE STARTS AND GETS FUEL TO THE FUEL PUMP. THE REPAIR COST IS $1213.71. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF DOCUMENTED CASES REGARDING THIS ISSUE IN THE CHRYSLER LINE AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT CHRYSLER IS AWAITING A TRAGEDY TO TAKE PLACE BEFORE THEY DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR THE CUSTOMER AND FIX THE PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN REPORTED. I UNDERSTAND THAT A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT HAS BEEN FILED TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. I JUST WANT TO GO ON RECORD IN THE EVENT THAT SOMETHING DETRIMENTAL HAPPENS TO ME OR MY FAMILY BECAUSE OF THIS RECOGNIZED AND PUBLICLY DOCUMENTED PART FAILURE. *TR
CAR BATTERY IS DEAD, BATTERY IS FINE, POSSIBLE FAULTY TIPM.L *TR
OCTOBER 15, 2014 I WAS DRIVING MY 2012 DODGE DURANGO CREW TO WORK. WHILE DRIVING MY ENGINE COMPLETELY FAILED WITHOUT WARNING, CAUSING ME TO DRIFT INTO A CONCRETE RETAINING WALL. MY CAR IMMEDIATELY WENT TO THE BODY SHOP AND WAS INSPECTED BY MY GEICO INSURANCE. THE DAMAGE TOTALED $5500, $500 OF WHICH WAS MY DEDUCTIBLE. UNFORTUNATELY, A PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE BODY WAS UNAVAILABLE, SO I WAS TOLD I WOULD NEED TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR AN ESTIMATED 3 MONTHS UNTIL THE PART WAS AVAILABLE FROM DODGE. I WAS CLEARLY UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING THE CAR BECAUSE I KNEW IT MALFUNCTIONED. I TOOK THE CAR DIRECTLY FROM THE BODY SHOP TO MY LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP. PLEASE NOTE ***GEICO INSURANCE DEEMED THE CAR "SAFE TO DRIVE" AND REFUSED TO GIVE ME A RENTAL. I TOOK THE DURANGO TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEPT IT FOR 24 HOURS AND DISMISSED ME TELLING ME NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. NEITHER MY HUSBAND NOR I WERE SATISFIED BECAUSE IN MY 17 YEARS OF DRIVING I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND KNEW SOMETHING WAS DEFECTIVE. SINCE THEN, I HAVE STARTED THE CAR A HANDFUL OF TIMES, AND IT WILL IMMEDIATELY SHUT DOWN. I JUST RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL NUMBER R09/NHTSA 14V-115. THIS SAFETY RECALL RELATES EXACTLY TO WHAT HAPPENED TO MY DURANGO. I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN THAT I DRIVE WITH IN THIS CAR, REFUSE TO GET ON ANY HIGHWAY WITH IT FOR FEAR OF IT SHUTTING DOWN AT 70 MPH, AND CHRYSLER REFUSES TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. I HAVE PROOF OF THE $5500 IN REPAIRS, I HAVE PROOF OF THE $500 I SPENT ON MY DEDUCTIBLE, I HAVE PROOF THAT I TOOK IT TOOK A DODGE DEALERSHIP, AND I HAVE PROOF THAT MY CAR INSURANCE RATE HAS DRAMATICALLY INCREASED BECAUSE OF THIS CLAIM. I'M STUCK WITH AN UNSAFE VEHICLE, NO ONE ACCEPTING BLAME, INCREASED INSURANCE RATE, $500 LESS IN MY BANK ACCOUNT, AND A CAR THAT IN GOOD CONSCIENCE I CAN'T RE-SELL. TO DATE I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM FIAT CHRYSLER AMERICA (FCA) RE; THE ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY MUST BE REPLACED AND THE TIPM CONTAINS AN INTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY THAT CAN FAIL. IN OCT 2014 I WAS VERBALLY INFORMED BY LUSTINE DODGE IN WOODBRIDGE VA ABOUT THESE RECALLS, BUT TOLD THAT THEY HAD NO REMDY OR PARTS TO FIX THE ISSUE. FOLLOWING THE NEWS REPORT IT APPEARS THAT FCA IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET TO FIX THE ISSUE AND PUTTING DRIVERS OF THE THE VEHICLES IN QUESTION IN DANGER.
ON OCT 7, 2014, MY BROTHER WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK. IT WAS RAINING THAT EVENING AND A DEER JUMPED OUT INFRONT OF HIM. NATURAL REACTION, HE SWERVED TO MISS THE DEER. THE VEHICLE SLID ON THE WET ROADS WHEN HE SWERVED, CAUSING HIM TO GO HEAD ON INTO A STONE "MOUNTAINSIDE" WALL. HE WAS DOING APPROXIMATELY 60MPH UPON IMPACT. NOT ONE OF THE 9 AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE ACCIDENT WAS SO BAD, IT CAUSED THE FLOORBOARD WHERE THE GAS AND BRAKE ARE TO "BUCKLE", THE AXLE WAS COMPLETELY RIPPED OUT, AND THE DRIVERS WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF, YET NOT ONE OF THE 9 AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. MY BROTHER ENDED UP WITH CUTS ON HIS HEAD AND FACE, HE HAD A SEVERE CONCUSSION AND THERE IS A "LUMP" ON THE BACK OF HIS NECK THAT THE HOSPITAL ISN'T SURE IF IT IS A BONE THAT IS "OUT OF PLACE" OR JUST A LUMP THAT FORMED FROM BEING HIT. HE IS NOT PERMITTED TO WORK FOR A FEW WEEKS. HE WAS SLURRING WORDS AND NOT PROPERLY TALKING FOR 4 DAYS AFTER THE ACCIDENT. THE HOSPITAL SAID IT WAS FROM HOW HARD HE HIT HIS HEAD. EVERYONE WHO HAS SEEN THE VEHICLE, INCLUDING INSURANCE ADJUSTOR SAID IT IS A WONDER HE WASN'T KILLED, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. YET, A FRIEND OF OURS ACCIDENTALLY "TAPPED" A GUARDPOST WHILE PARKING AND ALL HIS AIRBAGS IN HIS DURANGO DEPLOYED. I GUESS YOU HAVE TO BE GOING SLOW FOR DURANGO AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY?? HOW CAN THEY DEPLOY IN ONE THAT BARELY TAPS A PARKING POST, BUT A 60MPH CRASH, NOT ONE DEPLOYS? *TR
MY LETTER TO DARCAR REGARDING MY DODGE DURANGO:I MUST SAY EVEN WITH ALL THE ISSUES BEING REPORTED ,YOUR SHOP AND TECHNICIANS ARE COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS TO CARS. I INFORMED THEM WHEN MY CAR WAS TOWED BECAUSE COMPLETE ELECTRICAL POWER WAS GONE THAT IT WAS DUE TO THE TIPM ISSUE. I KEEP BEING FORCE FED THAT IT'S JUST THE BATTERY NO CRANK NO START. EVEN WHEN RECOMMENDATION PRESENT IT'S A POSSIBLE TIPM ISSUE AND I HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC RAN I GET SOME BS ABOUT ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE BECAUSE TIPM IS SEPARATE. SO I TOLD THEM TO FIX THE BATTERY ISSUE JUST TO TRY AND PROVE A POINT A $600 POINT THAT IS. NOT ONLY WHEN I GET THE CAR DOES IT TAKE [XXX] NEAR 30 MINUTE TO TRY AND GET IT TO THE FRONT I SEE YOUR TECHNICIANS JUMPING MY CAR. I THOUGH IT WAS FIXED? I PAID FOR IT TO BE FIXED. SO I TRY AND PUT IT IN DRIVE IT SHUTS DOWN. OH WELL WE GOING TO PUT ANOTHER BATTERY IN. COME GET THE CAR GET IT HOME TO FIND OUT THIS MORNING SAME [XXX] PROBLEM. YOUR SERVICE IS TERRIBLE AND IF ANY VEHICLE HAS A DARCAR CHRYSLER DODGE AFFILIATED WITH IT I WON'T BUY AND RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE ELSE DOES. ON OCT 3, 2014, THIS ISSUE FIRST OCCURRED WITH MY DODGE DURANGO. IT TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF THE VEHICLE "TURNING OVER" FOR IT TO ACTUALLY START. THEN ON OCT 10, MY VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY STOPPED IN TRAFFIC. THEN IT TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET IT RESTARTED. I HAD MY CODES AND BATTERY TESTED, NO ISSUES WERE DETECTED. THIS PROBLEM STARTING THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN GOING ON SEVERAL TIMES A DAY SINCE OCT 3. ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT CHRYSLER HAVE BEEN A DEAD END. I FEEL LIKE I'VE BEEN GETTING THE RUNAROUND. A RECALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN ISSUED LONG BEFORE NOW AS I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL OTHER DODGE DURANGO OWNERS WHO HAVE OR ARE CURRENTLY HAVING THESE ISSUES. *TR

RECALL # 14V154000. THE CONSUMER HAS STILL BEEN UNABLE TO GET THE RECALL RECTIFIED, DUE TO LACK OF PARTS. UPDATED 11/19/14. *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO INDICATED THAT THE BATTERY WAS FAULTY. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V63400 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) WAS RECEIVED IN NOVEMBER OF 2014. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

MY 2012 DODGE DURANGO WOULD NOT START, THE ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER BUT NOT START. AFTER 5 ATTEMPTS IT STARTED AND I DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AFTER TEST I WAS TOLD THAT THE TIPM HAD AN OPEN CIRCUIT. *TR
I RECEIVED A RECALL ON MY 2012 DODGE DURANGO FOR THE BRAKE BOOSTER (P14/NHTSA 14V-154). I CALLED OUR LOCAL DEALER IRWIN AUTO COMPANY (877) 205-1428, AND TRIED TO SCHEDULE AN APPT.ONCE HE FOUND OUT THAT I DID NOT PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE FROM THEM. THEY THEN TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE TIME TO WORK ON MY VEHICLE THAT THEY NEED TO TAKE CARE OF THERE CUSTOMER THAT PURCHASED VEHILCES FROM THEM. THE FOLLOWING DAY, I CALLED AND TALKED TO THE GENERAL MANAGER, TIM JAMES, AND TOLD HIM THE STORY THAT HAPPNED YESTERDAY AND HE TOLD ME HE BASCILY AGREED WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER. I TOLD HIM THIS WAS A RECALL AND THAT THE RECALL LETTER HAD INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BOTTOM TO REPORT THIS IF THE DEALER DID NOT REPAIR THE CAR IN A TIMLEY FASHION TO FILE A COMPLAINT. HE SAID "GO AHEAD AND CALL THEM, THAT THERE NUMBER IS PRETTY EASY TO FIND ON THE INTERNET TO REPORT THEM". I CALLED THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE ISSUE AND WAS BASICALLY TOLD THIS WAS AN INDEPENDENT BUSINESS AND THEY CAN;T TELL THEM HOW TO RUN THERE DEALERSHIP. *TR

RIGHT TURNING SIGNAL TURNS ON BY ITSELF AND IS HARD TO TURN OFF, COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BY HAVING A CAR PULLING OUT IN FRONT OF US BELIEVING WE ARE TURNING. CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT MAINTAIN SPEED. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO START THE ENGINE AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. IN ADDITION, WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
STARTER WON'T ENGAGE AFTER 4 OR 5 ATTEMPTS TO TURN THE KEY, ENGINE STARTED. TIPM HAD TO BE REPLACED. TOOK CAR TO BE SERVICED AT DODGE DEALER 2 TWO TIMES REPORTING THAT CAR WILL ONLY START AFTER 4 OR 5 ATTEMPTS. AFTER 36K MILES WARRANTY EXPIRED TOOK CAR TO MECHANIC AND HE REPLACED TIPM, CAR IS RUNNING FINE NOW. *TR
I WENT OUTSIDE TO START MY CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START IT WOULD JUST KEEP TURNING OVER BUT NEVER CRANK EVENTUALLY STOPPING. I THEN WOULD ATTEMPT TO START IT AGAIN AND THE CAR WOULD TRY TO TURN OVER THEN CRANK SHAKE VERY BADLY THEN SHUT OFF. ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT IT WOULD FINALLY START AND STAY RUNNING. WHILE RUNNING OR IDLING ENGINE WOULD RUN ROUGH VIBRATING/SHAKING. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES THROUGHOUT 2' WEEKS. I COULD REMOTE START IT WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM BUT WHEN IT CAME TO PUSH TO START IT ALWAYS HAD A PROBLEM. I CALLED TO SET UP A SERVICE APPOINTMENT AND IT WAS TWO WEEKS LATER WHEN I FINALLY HAD AN APPOINTMENT. WHEN IT WAS FINALLY TIME FOR THE APPOINTMENT THE CAR HAD NOT DID THIS IN 3-4 DAYS. HASN'T DONE IT SINCE. SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT DETERMINE WHAT IT WAS. NOTHING WAS DONE. 4 DAYS AFTER THE APPOINTMENT AND HAVING 2 RECALLS FIXED ( ONE OF WHICH WAS BRAKE BOOSTER THAT THEY HAD ME HOLDING ON FOR 3 MONTHS ONLY DID THEY FIX IT WHEN I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR THE WATER PUMP,AND PULLEY. I WAS TOLD THE SAME ONLY 2-3 PARTS WERE COMING IN EACH MONTH. IF THERE IS A RECALL GET IT FIXED IN A TIMELY FASHION NOT ON YOUR OWN TIME SEE ARE PEOPLES LIVES!)AND SOME COMPUTER SYSTEMS REPROGRAMMED AND WATER PUMP AND IDLER PULLEY WERE REPLACED THE CEL CAME ON IT WAS THE WEEKEND AND SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS CLOSED. WE TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED THE CODE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM. A DAY LATER BEFORE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD REOPENED THE LIGHT WENT OFF AND HAS NOT CAME BACK ON SINCE. I SEE OTHERS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND SEE THAT THERE IS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION ON THIS. ALMOST GOT HIT BY A CAR WITH MY YOUNG SON IN THE CAR AND STARTED TO GET TO A POINT WHEN IT JUST DIDN'T WANT TO HARDLY START AFTER TRYING FOR 10 OR MORE MINUTES. TOOK TO THE SHOP AND AFTER WAITING FOR 3 DAYS THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE TIPM MODULE AND WOULD COST $1281.15 TO FIX. THIS WAS JUST TODAY. I TOLD HIM I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY. I WENT SEARCHING ONLINE WONDERING MORE ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND COME TO FIND SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM EVEN A CLASS ACTION SUIT HAS BEEN FILED. THIS ISSUE IS DANGEROUS. TO STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF A STREET FOR NO REASON AND THEN NOT BE ABLE TO GET YOUR CAR STARTED AGAIN IS BEYOND SCARY. WHEN THIS MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SAME MODULE SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE. EVEN SOMEONE IN MY OWN CITY HAD TO WAIT FOR THE PART ON BACK ORDER. A RECALL MUST BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT OR KILLED, PLEASE! *TR
VEHICLE STARTS THEN STALLS OUT, OR JUST CRANKS AND CRANKS, AND WON'T START. HAPPENED A FEW TIMES AT STOP LIGHTS AFTER SHORT DRIVE. WAS ABLE TO FINALLY GET STARTED TO DRIVE TO DEALER, WAS TOLD I COULD EITHER REPLACE THE TIPM FOR OVER $1000, OR DO A FUEL RELAY BYPASS TO THE EXISTING TIPM FOR A LITTLE OVER $550. SAME EXACT PROBLEM ALL THE RECALLED DURANGO/GRAND CHEROKEES HAVE, YET THE 2012'S HAVEN'T BEEN RECALLED? WHY? VEHICLE LEFT US STRANDED MULTIPLE TIMES IN FL HEAT WITH INFANT IN CAR. *TR
I HAVE HAD MANY INSTANCES WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. IT CRANKS OVER FINE BUT WILL NOT FIRE. I HAVE TO SHUT THE IGNITION OFF, AND THEN IT STARTS FINE WHEN I RETRY IT. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ( R09 / NHTSA 14V-115 ) BUT THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT THE REPAIR PARTS ARE NOT YET AVAILABLE. I AM WORRIED THAT I MAY EXPERIENCE A PROBLEM WHILE I AM ON THE HIGHWAY.
